VIDEO: Widespread Anti-Government Protests in Iran – at least 2 protesters killed

There are widespread anti-government protests in Iran today, spreading after they began in a few cities yesterday. Protesters in the demonstrations are complaining about the state of the economy including rising prices, and also are asking that the government spend more on the people of Iran and less on foreign military entanglements. Al Jazeera in a column titled “Two protesters killed in Iran anti-government rallies” reports:
The rallies have since gained momentum, spread to other cities, and are described as the largest in nearly a decade.
Saturday marked the third day of anti-government protests across Iran, when students and police clashed in Tehran.
Videos posted on Twitter by the New-York based Center for Human Rights in Iran appeared to show police in riot gear clashing with protesters outside the gates to the Tehran University.
A second video showed smoke-shrouded streets, purportedly from tear gas, in the same area.
Unconfirmed photo from Iran shows Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps badge. Note translation reads, “I won’t accept brutal orders anymore”
