Elon Musk Had the Pandemic Right From the Very Beginning

In the third year of this pandemic, it appears government officials are finally starting to listen to Elon Musk.

In May 2020, Elon Musk appeared on Joe Rogan’s show to discuss his new baby, Warren Buffett, and coronavirus lockdowns.

Musk, an early opponent of lockdowns, said the way COVID cases, hospitalization, and deaths were being tracked was highly problematic. He began by pointing out governments were counting some people who never were diagnosed with COVID as COVID cases, before making a claim that even Joe Rogan found too hard to believe.

MUSK: If somebody dies, was COVID a primary cause of the death or not? I mean, if somebody has COVID, gets eaten by a shark, we find their arm, their arm has Covid, it’s going to get recorded as a Covid death.

ROGAN: Is that real?

MUSK: Basically.

ROGAN: Not that bad, but heart attacks, strokes (cross talk) … Cancer.

MUSK: If you get hit by a bus, go to the hospital and die, and they find that you have COVID, you will be recorded as a COVID death.

Rogan: Why would they do that though?

‘It’s Still Listed as a COVID Death’

Why is an important question, but first it must be asked—Was what Musk said actually true?

As difficult as it may be to believe, the answer is yes. From the beginning of the pandemic, there has been no real effort to distinguish between dying from COVID and dying with COVID.

Sometimes public health officials made this crystal clear.

“If you died of a clear alternate cause, but you had Covid at the same time, it’s still listed as a Covid death,” Dr. Ngozi Ezike, the director of Illinois’s Department of Public Health, explained to reporters in an April 2020 press conference.

In a May 2021 CNN interview, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky gave a similar definition while discussing 223 fatal vaccine breakthrough cases, noting that “many hospitals are screening people for COVID when they come in,” and not all of these victims “actually died of COVID.”

More recently, Walensky noted that the vast majority of the relatively few fully vaccinated people who’ve died “of COVID” had no fewer than four comorbidities—yet they are still considered COVID deaths. (Viral claims that Walensky said the vast majority of all COVID deaths had “at least four comorbidities” are false, fact checkers correctly pointed out.)

Readers would be right to point out that even dying with several comorbidities is a bit different than declaring a victim of a shark attack a “COVID death” just because the person had the virus, as Musk did to Rogan.

To my knowledge, nobody killed by a shark was declared a COVID death, but it’s not difficult to find documented examples that are nearly as preposterous—such as the Florida man in his 20s who died in a motorcycle accident—and was declared a COVID death.

“You could actually argue that it could have been the COVID-19 that caused him to crash. I don’t know the conclusion of that one,” Orange County Health Officer Dr. Raul Pino told an Orlando news station.

After widespread mockery, the motorcyclist’s death “was reviewed and he was taken off the list for COVID fatalities.”

‘Why Would They Do That Though?’

None of this is to say that COVID-19 is not very real or very deadly. It clearly is.

The point is, the data we’re collecting are giving us a distorted representation of COVID-19 realities. From the beginning of the pandemic, some epidemiologists sounded the alarm on this issue.

In a March 17 STAT article, Dr. John Ioannidis, the C.F. Rehnborg Chair in Disease Prevention at Stanford University, warned that COVID-19 could turn into a “once-in-a-century evidence fiasco.” Ioannidis worried central planners were making sweeping and reflexive changes while relying on data that was flawed or insufficient.

This brings us back to an important question.

“Why would they do that though?” Rogan asked Musk, who said if you get hit by a bus and have COVID, you’d be registered as a COVID death.

The answer may lie in basic incentives. Charlie Munger, Warren Buffett’s right hand man, had a saying.

“Show me the incentives and I will show you the outcome,” Munger said.

As Musk points out, federal legislation created an incentive structure that was problematic.

“The stimulus bill that was intended to help with the hospitals that were being overrun with Covid patients created an incentive to record something as Covid that is difficult to say no to, especially if your hospital’s going bankrupt for lack of other patients,” Musk explained to Rogan.

“So, the hospitals are in a bind right now. There’s a bunch of hospitals, they’re furloughing doctors, as you were mentioning. If your hospital’s half full, it’s hard to make ends meet. So now you’ve got like, ‘If I just check this box, I get $8,000. Put them on a ventilator for five minutes, I get $39,000 back. Or, I got to fire some doctors.’ So, this is a tough moral quandary.”

Rogan asked Musk what the solution to all this was.

“Let’s clear up the data,” Musk responded.

In the third year of this pandemic, it appears some people might be prepared to finally heed Musk’s advice.

In New York, Gov. Kathy Hochul recently announced hospitals must begin to provide separate data indicating which of the people hospitalized with COVID were admitted for other reasons. The order provided important information: it turns out that out of the some 11,500 COVID-19 patients recently hospitalized in the Empire State, 43 percent were admitted for something other than COVID-19.

There also appears to be signs the CDC is finally acknowledging the deficiencies in its own reporting.

“Do you know how many of the 836,000 deaths in the U.S. linked to COVID are from COVID or how many are with COVID, but they had other comorbidities? Do you have that breakdown?” Bret Baier asked Walensky on “Fox News Sunday.”

Walensky did not, but after some hemming and hawing she offered a notable response.

“Those data will be forthcoming,” she told Baier.

This is good news. The only question is, why didn’t public officials listen to Elon Musk two years ago?

Soviet Era Inspired Agitprop Shows up in Washington, D.C.

The First Amendment is a beautiful thing. It allows even former Soviet Agitprop artists to show off their wares on the walls of Washington, D.C.

Agitprop refers to an intentional, vigorous promulgation of ideas. The term originated in Soviet Russia where it referred to popular media, such as literature, plays, pamphlets, films, and other art forms, with an explicitly political message in favor of communism.

This is fitting since Joe’s middle name is Beijing.

Is This the End-Game of the Democrat Party? An All Out War Against Americans?

I believe that the Democrat party, especially the extreme left that seems to be in control right now, is in its death throes. We are witnessing the painful ( for them ) demise of the worst domestic terrorist organization we have witnessed – ever in our history.

This evil administration under what is definitely the worse and most dangerous leadership, came into being with promises to unite a nation that was already pretty united and to stop the China virus! Of course, that was never the plan as they wanted to create a socialist nation filled with a brain washed proletariat that would depend on the state from cradle to grave. To create racism where there was none. To reach this lofty goal these traitors had a very tame and obedient main stream media ready to push the lies and the propaganda that had been so well planned for so long.

However, the ineptitude and the stupidity of the people that were involved forgot one thing. This nation has enough real Americans in it that would not just lie down and accept the end game as it was planned.

We watched as this administration from day one set out to destroy our constitutional republic from within. From a destructive energy agenda which destroyed high paying jobs and endangered our very security and one that rewarded our enemies by buying oil from them instead of using ours. Oil today is $85 a barrel and moving on up! Gone are those days of under $2 a gallon.

We watched as this administration embarrassed our nation and military in the most terrible withdrawal from Afghanistan. I am not here to talk about the rights and wrongs of that 20 year war and understand we needed to withdraw some day. However the military leadership under treasonous military leadership lied to our allies, our friends and our nation. They deliberately screwed it up thinking they could blame Trump which the tame media took up but it didn’t work. The world saw this administration for what it was. This includes our friends and our enemies. Our enemies in particular took notice and realized that instantly they could get away with what ever they wanted.

The military under Biden is like a toothless bulldog. If left to him and General Miley it will become a rainbow and woke organization filled with freaks like transgenders etc.

We are letting down Ukraine as it is being threatened by Russia.

We are letting down Taiwan which is being threatened by China.

We are helplessly watching our enemies fly new hypersonic missiles and test nuclear weapons.

We are allowing Iran to continue its nuclear weapons program which will destabilize the entire Middle East if it is allowed.

We are screwing over our allies like Israel who must feel they are on their own.

We have armed for free our enemy the Taliban with weapons and military hardware they couldn’t have dreamt about. We handed them the most secure airfield in the world, Baghran and now can only watch as the Chinese fill it and use it as a base of operations.

Now let’s look at inflation. Prices haven’t risen this high or fast for 40 years or so – and we haven’t seen the end of that! Trust me, recession and hyper inflation will follow if we allow this inept domestic terrorist organization, the New Socialist Democrat Party, to continue.

The border is not just porous. It is wide open. Enemies and criminals are pouring into this country, diseased and untested.

The supply train has been deliberately destroyed. Goods are piling up and this administration lies daily about how they have fixed the problem.

Covid is still totally rampant despite approximately 84% of adults being “vaccinated” and liberals are losing their minds, spewing hatred to cover their inadequacies.

Wages have risen exponentially but in no way are they even beginning to keep up with inflation. People are worse off one year into this usurpers reign and not only that, the groups worse off are the Hispanics and Blacks, the very groups Biden thought he had in the palm of his hands.

Wrong.

The tide is turning and these two groups have seen the result of the last election and buyers remorse is rampant. They are not buying the lies anymore.

Women who voted in large numbers for the mentally deranged treasonous pervert and thief in the Peoples House, are seeing the light and turning away.

People are learning daily that they cannot trust the MSM, that the China Virus has been greatly exaggerated, that the so called vaccine which is not a vaccine, is a con. It’s also dangerous. I ask you here, name me one vaccine that needs multiple shots and still enables you to catch, pass, be hospitalized and die from the very virus it’s supposed to save you from. Plus you cannot sue the pharmaceutical companies when the poison hurts or kills your! But hey, the big pharma is raking in billions of dollars in profit!! Yay!!

I could go on but you get the idea. Build back better is dead in the water. Voting and election changes are dead in the water. Their global warming agenda is dead in the water. This administration cannot pass anything. They are a lame duck administration which this year will be permanently crippled after the mid term elections when we slap these bastards down like the rabid animals they are.

Then we have serious work to do. We have to DRAIN THE SWAMP OF ALL FILTHY SLIMY SWAMP CREATURES. REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS. We need to find them all, investigate them all, arrest and charge them all and sentence them to maximum sentences including death. They are traitors. Low down, lying, stinking traitors. By taking all their over inflated pensions and ill-gotten goods and possessions obtained by illegal methods and treasonous actions we can finance this just witch hunt. Fill those SuperMax prisons. Build more if needed. Fill those federal death row areas and get it done.

Radical? I don’t think so. These are evil people. They hate this country and have done all they can to destroy it, the middle class and our beloved military, law enforcement, economy, security, global position and standing. They have enriched themselves while doing all the above over the last 70 plus years.

Watch for more lies and actions as they use the media to keep us unfocused on their inability to run a country like the wrongful arrests of friends of mine like Stewart Rhodes, creator and leader of Oath Keepers, an organization I have been a member of since it’s inception. They are lying and exaggerating his part in the protests of January 6th and are unconstitutionally holding him and many others in prisons and jails with no bail and no rights, destroying lives and families as they try and lie about the extremist conservatives and Trumpists.

They are using information from encrypted information and then turning those words and wrongly manipulating them, to try prove guilt and make people believe that we are all right wing nut jobs, racists, homophones etc. The truth is that is the opposite. They are the racists and true enemies of we the people.

Remember, the safest communications is face to face but it is still good to use Signal and other encrypted sites. But understand the following.

The concept the US Military uses for encrypted communications is they expect the encryption to be broken. They believe that by the time the encryption is broken, that message will no longer have value.

Continue to use Signal, but understand 1) There are ways around the encryption; 2) The encryption can and will be broken; 3) Ensure the message will not have value when the encryption is broken; 4) Signal is still better for voice calls then not using Signal.

America. Gird your loins. Prepare to stand firm. We have work to do. It may be dangerous. It may be tedious. It may be difficult but if you want to leave anything good for your kids and their kids, it is time for patriots to stand up and do patriot stuff!

Global Warming: As Eastern U.S. Braces for Bone-Chilling Winter Storm

Saturday, January 15, 2022: With much of the Eastern U.S. about to be hit with a bone-chilling winter storm, this weekend is an appropriate time to reflect on the frenetic hysteria that accompanied the blizzard of 2018.

Al Gore, Our Melting Planet and the Blizzard of 2018

Gore and other high profile climate frauds continue to furiously beat the drums of global warming alarmism.

If not for a complicit and totally corrupt western media, the man-made global warming theory would have been blown out of the water decades ago.

In early January 2018, a powerful blizzard caused severe disruptions along the East Coast of the United States, as snow and bitter cold weather set new records, with Erie, PA shattering its all-time snowfall record. The next month, Chicago tied a long-standing record with nine straight days of snow after chalking up its most frigid New Year’s Day in history. The Plains, Midwest and Northeast were hit with record-setting frigid temperatures, and the Deep South was gripped by sub-zero freezing that dumped snow, even in Florida.

Crying wolf … every decade or so

Halfway around the world, the Winter Olympics in South Korea rivaled the coldest Games ever, and Russia had to call out the army to help Moscow dig out of what was described as “the snowfall of the century.” Elsewhere, 13,000 tourists were stranded as heavy snow blocked all routes from a Swiss ski resort, and the Sahara Desert was blanketed with 15 inches of snow.

Flashback to just four years earlier, 2014, when TheNew York Times, a charter member of the climate crisis cabal, ran a terrifying article that predicted “the end of snow.” That dire forecast was preceded 14 years earlier, in 2000, by the UK Independent, another charter member of the climate crisis cabal, which reported that “Snowfalls are a thing of the past. Children just aren’t going to know what snow is.”

In attempting to explain away the Blizzard of 2018, Al Gore said, “This is exactly what we should expect from global warming.” In his 2006 climate scaremongering movie, An Inconvenient Truth, he made no mention of exceptionally cold winters as a consequence of global warming. That was a totally new claim, one he pulled out of thin air when multiple frigid winters made a mockery of his prediction that cold winters and snow would disappear.

Dating to the early 1980s, Gore and other alleged experts have told us that the climate battle must be won “in the next decade” or by some future year, with no ifs, ands or buts regarding the contrived deadline. As reported by Climate Depot, citizens of western democracies have been the targets of a continuous barrage of grossly inaccurate climate warnings, each followed by more of the same:

● 1982: UN issues its first climate “tipping point” prediction, says time running out to save planet.
● 1989: UN issues revised tipping point, says only 10 years left to save planet; 19 years later, UN issues ANOTHER tipping point, says only 15 years left to save planet.
● 1989: Senior UN official Dr. Noel Brown: “Entire nations will be wiped from face of Earth” if no action taken by 2000.
● 2006: Al Gore issues doomsday warning: “Less than 10 years to save Earth.”
● 2007: UN IPCC chief Rajendra Pachauri says tipping point imminent, planet to perish if no action taken by 2012.
● 2009: NASA climate scientist Dr. James Hansen: “Obama has only four years to save planet.”
● 2011: Prince Charles: “Only 96 months left to save the world.”
● 2019: UN General Assembly President María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés: “Only 11 years left to save planet.”
● 2019: U.S. congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: “World will end in 12 years if no action taken.”
● 2020: Presidential candidate Joe Biden: “Only nine years left to save Earth.”

Gore: “I saw fish from the ocean swimming in the streets of Miami”

For four straight decades, a Who’s Who of climate carnival barkers have issued a constant drumbeat of apocalyptic warnings that climate collapse is “imminent” unless voters agree to stratospheric carbon energy taxes that will radically alter the lifestyle of all but the wealthiest Americans.

If these global warming quacks have you trembling in fear, here’s a slice of Earth’s climate history that will give you peace of mind. During the Pliocene Epoch—2.5 million-to-5.3 million years ago—global average temperatures were 2-3 degrees Celsius higher than today, and there were no humans using fossil fuels way back then.

There’s nothing this climate snake oil salesman won’t say to perpetuate the global warming hoax that’s enabled him to stuff his pockets with a staggering $300 million fortune. At the December 2015 New York Times DealBook conference, he said this:

I was in Miami a few weeks ago, and on a sunny day, fish from the ocean were swimming in some of the streets. The melting ice has now raised sea level to the point that quite a few coastal cities are already experiencing this.

PAPERS PLEASE! National Covid Card Quietly Emerges

Quietly and over some objections, a national digital vaccine card has emerged

The SMART Health Card is voluntary and minimal by design to protect personal information. About 80 percent of vaccinated people in the U.S. most likely have access to it.

Whether they realize it or not, about 200 million people in the United States now likely have access to a Covid-19 digital vaccine card.

The digital pass known as the SMART Health Card is voluntary and minimal by design to protect personal information. It has a person’s name, date of birth and the dates and brands of vaccination doses, all contained within a type of scannable bar code known as a QR code.

And after a relatively quiet start, it has built momentum in recent months as more states and companies have signed on, making it something of a de facto national digital vaccine card.

“The beautiful thing about this is that this multistate coalition is a coalition of the willing,” said Dr. Brian Anderson, chief digital health physician at MITRE, a research nonprofit, and an architect of the health cards.

Any such card seemed like a remote possibility a year ago, when people first began receiving paper cards as proof of their Covid vaccinations. The Biden administration said in March that it would not take the lead on any national health pass and instead defer to the private sector, and the idea of a vaccine “passport” has faced opposition and even bans, especially in Republican-led states such as Alabama and Texas.

Rather than a single app, the SMART Health Card is open-source computer code that anyone can use to ping a verified source of health data and produce the unique QR code. The digital cards are now widely available from more than 400 sources including states, pharmacies and health care organizations.

The fact that the system exists in any form is a triumph for a loose coalition of technologists, nonprofit groups and mostly Democratic states that championed the development of a digital vaccine card even before the first coronavirus shots were administered.

“This is a de facto standard,” said Rick Klau, California’s chief technology innovation officer. “This is essentially the one common way for residents to secure that digital copy and then use it.”

The digital card offers a few benefits beyond a paper card. QR codes can’t be forged in the way a paper card could be, because a restaurant or a music venue can use a scanner app to verify that it’s legitimate. People can also download the QR code again if they lose it, adding a convenience factor.

People can get the QR code from their state health authority if they’ve been vaccinated in one of the 13 states now participating, but they may also be able to get them from a hospital or from a national pharmacy chain, such as Albertsons, CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens or stores like Walmart if they’ve been vaccinated at any of their locations.

Vaccine QR codes are also spreading internationally. Japan launched a similar system last month, and Ontario, Canada, is requiring people to have scannable proof of vaccination to eat inside restaurants or go inside certain other businesses. QR codes are increasingly required as part of international airline travel.

Within the U.S., the QR codes are still voluntary. California and Louisiana became the first states to roll out the SMART Health Card last June, and the number of issuers grew slowly at first before picking up pace over time.

Colorado signed on in November, followed by Connecticut and Illinois in December. On Monday, Massachusetts became the 13th state to voluntarily embrace the system, and another 10 or so states are privately exploring the possibility, Anderson said.

Washington has issued about 840,000 QR codes, according to the state’s health department. That’s equivalent to about 11 percent of the state’s population. The numbers in Colorado and New Jersey are similar.

Klau, a former manager at Google, has advised other states as they put the system in place. In California alone, 7 million individuals have downloaded their QR code, and he estimated that about 80 percent of the vaccinated U.S. population of 247 million people have access to a SMART Health Card if they want one through either their state health authority or the site where they were vaccinated, such as a pharmacy or a hospital.

“It’s inspiring to see what has largely been a grassroots effort not only take hold, but develop so completely,” he said. “It has certainly not been mandated.”

A critical feature is that the QR codes are standardized and interoperable, so they work across state lines. A resident of New Jersey visiting San Francisco can use the same system to prove vaccination as a Californian.

And they can work internationally. Countries including the United Kingdom, Israel and Singapore have said they’ll recognize the QR codes if Americans present them abroad, Klau said.

It’s not clear if the Biden administration will ever endorse the project. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention did not respond to requests for comment.

Trump to rally faithful in Arizona

Donald Trump will rally the faithful in Arizona on Saturday, rehearsing yet again his unfounded claims that the US presidential election was stolen from him, and repeating his familiar litany of complaints.

After abandoning a pledged press conference on January 6 — the anniversary of the invasion of the Capitol by his supporters — the defeated former president will be back in front of a sympathetic crowd.

“Many topics will be discussed,” he said in a statement Friday, “including the Rigged Presidential Election of 2020, the fake Big Lie, the corrupt LameStream Media, the Afghanistan disaster, Inflation, the sudden lack of respect for our Nation and its leaders, and much more.

“Big crowds, will also be covered on TV. See you Saturday evening!”

The rally, in a rural area outside Phoenix, is expected to feature a raft of Republicans who happily parrot the unsubstantiated claims that the 2020 election was fixed.

They include Kari Lake, who Trump has endorsed for governor of Arizona in this year’s race. She has previously said she would not have certified President Joe Biden’s victory if she had been in office at the time.

Also expected to appear is Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow, who has spent millions of dollars trying to overturn the election.

Trump, who lost his Twitter megaphone for his repeated lies about the poll, has been a much lower-key presence in US politics since being booted from office.

But he still looms large in the Republican Party, where adherence to his unproven theories — or at least not publicly denying them — is often vital to survival for members of Congress and state legislatures.

The Florence rally will be the first time Trump has appeared before a large crowd since October, and observers will be watching the turnout as a gauge of how much power he still wields with the base.

In the lead up to his election win in 2016, and throughout his presidency, tens of thousands of supporters would throng venues to hear their man run through his grievances.

But crowds have since dwindled.

Trump has largely shunned the fact-based media since leaving office, preferring occasional call-ins to sympathetic outlets.

But last week he ventured onto National Public Radio (NPR), where he said he recommends that people get vaccinated against Covid-19 — a hot button issue in the US, where there is widespread distrust of science among those on the Right.

Beth Israel Synagogue in Colleyville, Texas, was in the middle of Shabbat services that were being livestreamed on Facebook, when a Muslim terrorist burst in and took hostages

“The gunman says he is Muslim and holding at least 6 people says ‘he will kill people if anyone gets close to the synagogue.’” Before the livestream from the synagogue was cut off, the gunman could be heard ranting in a foreign language that, according to journalist and trial attorney Marina Medvin, turned out to be Arabic. Medvin noted that the gunman said, “Are you listening? I am going to die. So don’t cry for me…”

Synagogues and Rabbis are a prime target for Muslim terrorists. The main target of the horrific Islamic attack in Mumbai was a synagogue:

A senior police official, told DNA on condition of anonymity, that the interrogation of Mohammed Amir Iman Ajmal (aka Kasab) revealed as much. Just before entering the city, the terrorists’ team leader, Ismail Khan, briefed them once again about their targets. “But Khan briefed Imran Babar, alias Abu Akasha, and Nasir, alias Abu Umer, intensely on what to do at Nariman House,” the officer said.

When asked during interrogation why Nariman House was specifically targetted, Ajmal reportedly told the police they wanted to sent a message to Jews across the world by attacking the synagogue.

Why would “Lady Al Qaeda’ Aafia Siddiqui’s brother choose a synagogue for his hostage-taking? Actually, a synagogue would be the most likely target for such a person, because of the deeply rooted anti-Semitism of the Qur’an. According to the Qur’an, Jews are called the strongest of all people in enmity toward the Muslims (5:82); they fabricate things and falsely ascribe them to Allah (2:79; 3:75, 3:181); they disobey Allah and never observe his commands (5:13), and Muslims should wage war against them and subjugate them under Islamic hegemony (9:29), among many other slanders.

Meanwhile, the abduction of infidels as hostages is sanctioned in Islamic law and subject to particular rules. The renowned Islamic scholar al-Mawardi succinctly explained Islamic law for hostages: “As for the captives, the amir [ruler] has the choice of taking the most beneficial action of four possibilities: the first to put them to death by cutting their necks; the second, to enslave them and apply the laws of slavery regarding their sale and manumission; the third, to ransom them in exchange for goods or prisoners; and fourth, to show favor to them and pardon them. Allah, may he be exalted, says, ‘When you encounter those [infidels] who deny [the Truth=Islam] then strike [their] necks’ (Qur’an sura 47, verse 4).”

My latest in PJ Media:

There are so many ridiculous things being taught in American colleges and universities these days that a professor who defends the Taliban may seem staid and conservative compared to some of his colleagues, but that’s just a sign of how far American academia has fallen. Christopher Cook, a professor in the Department of International Politics at Pennsylvania State University – World Campus, is teaching a class called “Politics of Terrorism,” in which he has given the students an essay assignment: “Explain why the Taliban are not terrorists.” Imagine a professor in 1944 making his students write about how the Nazis really aren’t so bad, and you’ll understand how ridiculous and outrageous Cook’s assignment really is.

Cook’s assignment was not an example of the common pedagogical exercise in which students adopt a point of view that is not their own in order to sharpen their ability to understand and present arguments. He explained his assignment in this way: “In one page* explain why the Taliban is have [sic] not and are still not a terrorist organization. You are not allowed to answer this question in any other way. Any attempt to avoid this prompt as written; or trying to argue otherwise will result in a failing grade. If you have any questions on the pedagogy behind this assignment– please contact me.”

The warnings that students could not argue the opposite view, or avoid the question altogether made clear where Cook was coming from, and he made it even clear in several tweets (after his class assignment became widely known, he deleted his Twitter account). Cook wrote: “Do you think any of my students will see this before Sunday’s deadline? The one where I ask them to tell me why the Taliban are *not* terrorists.” And: “I am going to guess there is a Venn Diagram between the people who struggled understanding why the Taliban were not terrorists for the lat [sic] 20 years and those who think there can be justified violence against the American government.” Does Cook support Antifa? It would be surprising if he didn’t.

Penn State student Kylie Stone told “Fox & Friends”: “I was completely shocked. I had made it through my first four years of college without having anything this insane and, of course, my last semester my teacher basically says ‘you have to agree with me or I’m going to fail you.’ So it was very surprising to me….I have had assignments where they asked me to argue both sides. I love doing that kind of stuff. I think it’s so beneficial to every student to be doing that but that’s not what this assignment was.” That’s obvious. Cook, like the overwhelming majority of professors all over the country today, doesn’t want to teach his students critical thinking skills; he wants to indoctrinate them into Leftist attitudes and dogmas.

The Bottom Line

Michael Finch wrote this poem in 2020. After seeing the story on the looting of the trains in the rail yards of Los Angeles his words struck us again once again, sadly.

Whence America?

Heading northbound, the 170 Freeway, trash heaps and waste, fall down and pile high on roads embankment, tents and filth, human costs and destroyed lives, of illness, drugs and wasted dreams.

Shattered might and factories hollow, rust belt and shredded lawns, boarded up stores, empty lots and broken glass and spent lives and churches barren, of jobs sold off and towns crushed and forgotten.

Global riches and coastal castles of wealth unseen since Rome’s finest of palaces, high upon hills of gold and towers gleaming over the Bay and harbors to the ends of earth, those eyes, hearts and souls gaze over the horizon with loyalties sailed off to faraway lands.

The revolt of the elites.

Spent lives, overdosed and buried in misery and ruin, long forgotten and none forgiven, a heartland once the citadel of power and might, the fortress, the big shoulders of the power of Atlas, of our might unchallenged, the arsenal of democracy, now discarded and shipped to a middle kingdom afar, new empires of fortunes, enriching few and for whose bidding?

This is America?

Coming back to a downtown of refuse, filth and thousands of hopeless lives, wasted and allowed, condoned from our elites and betters, of drugs and crime and to wallow in misery, America once, but America no more, cry our beloved land of God’s fading blessings.

This is a fallen greatness.

Do Politicians Exhibit Wisdom – Understanding – Knowledge or Ignorance – Callousness – Stupidity?

“Solomon and the wise men of Israel regarded wisdom, understanding, and knowledge as worthy pursuits in life. In fact, given the choice between wisdom and material wealth, they opted for wisdom, hands down. For them, clear thinking held the key to success in all areas of life.” – Pastor Chuck Swindoll

According to the Pew Research Center:

When it comes to religious affiliation, the 117th U.S. Congress looks similar to the previous Congress but quite different from Americans overall.

While about a quarter (26%) of U.S. adults are religiously unaffiliated – describing themselves as atheist, agnostic or “nothing in particular” – just one member of the new Congress (Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz.) identifies as religiously unaffiliated (0.2%).

Nearly nine-in-ten members of Congress identify as Christian (88%), compared with two-thirds of the general public (65%). Congress is both more heavily Protestant (55% vs. 43%) and more heavily Catholic (30% vs. 20%) than the U.S. adult population overall.

Jewish members also make up a larger share of Congress than they do of the general public (6% vs. 2%).

Nearly all non-Christian members of Congress are Democrats.

There are currently 9 Democrats and 1 Independent in the U.S. Senate and 26 Democrats, 2 Republicans in the House of Representatives who are Jewish in the 117th Congress.

Let’s look at where we as a people got our definitions for wisdom, understanding and knowledge.

WISDOM: For the Hebrews, wisdom (hakam) and its derivatives are the most commonly used terms denoting intelligence.
UNDERSTANDING: The Hebrew term for “understanding” is tebuna, which denotes intelligence or discernment.
KNOWLEDGE: The Hebrew term for knowledge is based on the verb yada, “to know.”

QUESTION: Are members of Congress exhibiting wisdom (hakam), understanding (tebuna) and knowledge (yada)?

Do members of Congress when “given the choice between wisdom and material wealth,” opting for wisdom?

Or are members of Congress driven by ignorance, callousness and stupidity?

It’s the Cultural War in America, stupid!

Solomon and the wise men of Israel prized wisdom, understanding, and knowledge as crucial to living prosperously, safely, and effectively. Even so, they recognized the limits of human thinking:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the LORD and turn away from evil. (3:5–7)

Is the God of Abraham alive and well amongst the members of Congress? Or have they succumbed to the glitter of gold and power that they wield?

Has God, like Elvis, left the halls of Congress?

Writer, author and an emerging Australian voice on culture and the Christian faith Kurt Mahlburg in his November 5th, 2021 column “It’s the culture war, stupid!” wrote:

Elections that follow a Presidential race routinely trend against the party in the White House, so Republicans were expected to do well in the assorted votes that took place around the country this week.

But no one quite expected Tuesday’s results.

So whence the red tsunami?

If there is a single takeaway from this week’s results, it is that American voters are far more engaged in the culture wars now than in any past election. While the economy and Covid mandates were also on the table, the role of parents in education was a leading concern. This was especially true in Virginia.

“Republicans are looking to education as a winning issue ahead of next year’s midterm elections after putting it front and center propelled the party to a clear victory in Virginia on Tuesday,” reported The Hill.

The New York Times was even more blunt: “After Terry McAuliffe stumbled to defeat … a mild suggestion seems in order: Democrats probably need a new way to talk about progressive ideology and education.”

Virginia has been ground zero for a nationwide showdown between parents and school boards. For parents, the issues have been at least twofold: the sexualisation of their children through transgender bathroom policies and curriculum; and critical race theory which is souring race relations, especially in urban centres. [Emphasis added]

With Biden, who is only our second Catholic president, tanking in poll after poll it appears that his policies are not in favor with the people. Many argue that Biden, and Democrats in general, tend to display Ignorance – Callousness – Stupidity.

The Bottom Line

As Americans look at empty shelves, prices for gasoline, meat and food rising at an alarming rate, we remember the retort of Bill Clinton, “It’s the economy, stupid.”

Add to this “it’s the cultural war stupid” and you have a double whammy working against Democrats as we approach the mid-term elections on November 8th, 2022.

Rather than wanting one party to win and other lose, I would rather that all members of Congress get back to policies based upon Wisdom – Understanding – Knowledge.

Gun Control Comes from a Place of Privilege

Assuming we know what’s best for others is rarely a good idea.

The concept of privilege gets a bad rap in many circles, and understandably so. Many have taken it way too far, using it as a means of bullying their political opponents into submission. But while the excesses of this rhetoric are certainly problematic, I don’t think we should do away with the concept entirely. Behind all the moral grandstanding lies a kernel of truth, one that can provide some valuable insights if applied correctly.

The principle, essentially, is that certain people have unearned advantages, and those advantages can shape how they see the world. Affluence, for instance, can make someone blind to the needs of the poor. Likewise, those with an above average aptitude, intelligence, or physical appearance might find it difficult to relate to those who were not equally endowed with those gifts.

The problem with this blindness is that it can easily lead to hubris, that is, unwarranted self-confidence. Indeed, one of the hallmarks of privilege is thinking we know the best course of action for a given situation when we really don’t.

The classic example of this is the story of a famous French princess who, upon hearing that the peasants had no bread, simply replied, “then let them eat cake.” She was so unfamiliar with their circumstances that the solution she dismissively prescribed was positively laughable. Another example of privilege was when the lockdown elite told us to “just stay home,” seemingly oblivious to the fact that staying home is simply unfeasible for many working class people.

Now, progressives are typically pretty good at pointing out places where privilege is leading to blindness and hubris (indeed, they often see privilege even where it doesn’t exist). But there’s one occurance of privilege that always seems to get a pass, and that is the privilege associated with gun control.

Out of Touch

Consider, for example, someone who’s from a wealthy, safe neighborhood. They know very little about what it’s like to live in a high-crime area. They have probably never been robbed or threatened with violence from a total stranger. And if they do face threats, they have no qualms with calling the (armed) police who are usually responsive and happy to help.

Now compare that to the experience of someone from a rougher part of town. First, the cops there are probably not as responsive. What’s more, the cops can often become antagonistic, poking their nose where it doesn’t belong (see below) and sometimes arresting the very people they arrived to help.

Unsurprisingly, confidence in police is noticeably lower in these communities.

So what do you do if you live in a high-crime area where you can’t trust the police to help you? For many, the answer is to buy a gun. Indeed, 88 percent of gun owners cite crime protection as one of the main reasons they own a gun, and people who have been recent crime victims report higher rates of gun ownership than those who have not been recent victims.

This brings us to the point about privilege. To many people who grew up in these rough neighborhoods, saying “just call the cops” is like saying “let them eat cake.” It isn’t actually helpful advice. It just demonstrates how little we know about their circumstances and how unqualified we are to speak to their issues.

To be sure, the people in these communities are often divided over the issue of gun control themselves. Even so, if someone is buying a gun, there’s a good chance it’s because they don’t feel safe without it. So before we tell them they are better off disarmed, perhaps we should take stock of how privileged we are to not need guns ourselves.

A Decades-Old Problem

The connection between gun control and privilege may sound new to many, but it’s actually an issue that goes back decades. In 1978, for instance, the economist and libertarian philosopher Murray Rothbard drew attention to this problem in his book For a New Liberty. To make his point, he quotes an article written by Don Kates for the Cato Institute’s Inquiry Magazine. Kates, for his part, pulls no punches.

“Gun prohibition is the brainchild of white middle-class liberals who are oblivious to the situation of poor and minority people living in areas where the police have given up on crime control,” Kates writes. “Such liberals weren’t upset about marijuana laws, either, in the fifties when the busts were confined to the ghettos. Secure in well-policed suburbs or high-security apartments guarded by Pinkertons (whom no one proposes to disarm), the oblivious liberal derides gun ownership as ‘an anachronism from the Old West.’”

Kates goes on to highlight exactly what kind of people are being impacted by gun control policies. Citing a 1975 national survey, he notes that the leading subgroups who owned a gun only for self-defense were blacks, the lowest income groups, and senior citizens. “These are the people,” Kates eloquently warns, “it is proposed we jail because they insist on keeping the only protection available for their families in areas in which the police have given up.”

Four decades later, FBI data showed African Americans were still disproportionately impacted by anti-carry laws, accounting for 42 percent of all possession charges even though they accounted for just 13 percent of the overall population.

Of course, none of this will make gun control any less contentious. There is no silver bullet here. But perhaps this paradigm can at least give us a lesson in humility. Namely, don’t assume you know what’s best for someone if you haven’t walked a mile in their shoes.

Florida Will Not Enforce Vaccine Mandate Upheld by SCOTUS for Healthcare Providers

Multiple news organizations are reporting the Florida will not enforce the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services’ vaccine mandate. It appears that reason is now returned to fight back against the bureaucracy when it comes to mandating getting vaxxed, in spite of what the SCOTUS ruled.

Here’s what Governor DeSantis said during his State-of-the-State address on healthcare freedom and the biomedical security state:

We’re sure that this may lead to another lawsuit. Time will tell but we hope that Florida once again is leading the way when it comes to choosing to get jabbed or not to get jabbed. Florida is the my body my choice state.

Florida won’t enforce federal health care worker vaccine mandate

TALLAHASSEE — The Supreme Court has ruled. The Biden administration’s vaccine mandate on health care workers will go into effect.

Except Florida won’t do its part to enforce it.

The rule requires employees at federally regulated health care facilities like hospitals and long-term care facilities to be vaccinated. It conflicts with a state law passed in November that limited employers’ ability to mandate vaccines.

If health care companies decide not to abide by the Biden administration’s requirement that 100 percent of workers be vaccinated or qualify for an approved exemption, they risk losing Medicare or Medicaid funding. Both federal programs are major funding sources for health care providers.

If those companies enact the federal vaccine mandate without offering employees a series of broad, state-specified exemptions, firms with fewer than 100 employees risk a $10,000 state fine every time they fire a worker for being unvaccinated. For larger companies, the fine would be $50,000 per violation.
