Convert Me If You Can

The investigative journalists over at The Daily Beast report that Madison Cawthorn, the North Carolina Republican who will soon become the youngest member of Congress in American history, “has admitted he tried to convert Jews and Muslims to Christianity.”

So what?

As a Jew, I’ve had several Christian friends try to turn me toward Jesus—Lutherans, Catholics, and evangelicals. Though denominations seem to adopt different philosophies on how best to proselytize in a secular world, they have all been exceptionally polite about it.

I assume that they wouldn’t be very good Christians if they weren’t spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is, from what I gather, one of the central premises of the enterprise. To be honest, I’m often surprised at how shy Christians are at this task.

As a heathen, though, I am flattered by the attention. And as a person in possession of free will, I am also unconcerned. Never once have I found such efforts to be “anti-Semitic.”

The very universality of the endeavor tells me it is not. I simply assume that my friends are troubled that I have forsaken salvation. Maybe they’re right. I’ll find out soon enough.

Fortunately, I do not live in the Holy Roman Empire or medieval Portugal or a shtetl in the Pale. The notion that Jews should be offended by Christians approaching us with theological ideas is un-American. Trust me, Jews are not helpless in the face of arguments.

And Christians do not have the power to compel us to believe. Unlike progressives—who try to force nuns to fund abortions or evangelicals to participate in same-sex weddings—no Christian has ever endeavored to coerce me to perform any of their rites.

Cawthorn, I assume, does not possess any special power, either.

In an interview with Jewish Insider, the newly elected congressman claims to have converted “several Muslims to Christ.”

When asked if he had ever tried to convert Jews, he answered: “I have. I have, unsuccessfully. I have switched a lot of, uh, you know, I guess, culturally Jewish people. But being a practicing Jew, like, people who are religious about it, they are very difficult. I’ve had a hard time connecting with them in that way.”

Indeed, religious Jews are notoriously difficult to convert, since the entire notion of a Second Coming is incompatible with their beliefs. Jews have spent a few thousand years stubbornly resisting this sort of pressure. Proselytism is somewhat of a foreign concept to Orthodox Jews, as they are commanded to push away newcomers.

But all the feigned anger directed at Cawthorn is, as is usually the case when the topic arises, about smearing evangelical Christians—and little do with anti-Semitism. I know this because many of the very people who pretend to be insulted for Jewish people are constantly excusing genuine anti-Semitism.

“In all seriousness, this is a really anti-Semitic thing to say. It’s like the original anti-Semitic thing to say and doesn’t rely on any codes or tropes,” says the theatrical Chris Hayes. “And the entire GOP should condemn it. But of course, they won’t, and I’m willing to bet it gets one-twentieth of the coverage of Omar’s tweet. And this speaks to something pretty profound about how the two parties are viewed and whose ‘extremism’ gets attention.”

Anyone with a rudimentary understanding of Christianity knows that it is not “extreme” to spread the Gospel. One can’t say the same for those who single out Jews as being bestowed with the uniquely “evil” ability to hypnotize the world or to buy off Christians with their “Benjamins.”

Apologists for Rep. Ilhan Omar, for Hamas, for the Holocaust-denying Iranian terror regime that targets Jews around the world whether they are Israelis or not—those who dishonestly single out the Jewish state as a cancerous presence on the world while ignoring others—are, at best, functionally anti-Semitic. “Anti-Zionism,” not belief in the Trinity, is the predominant justification for violence against Jews around the world.

Yes, I understand that many evangelicals support Israel, in part, because they believe it is necessary for the fulfillment of end-times prophecy. Since I do not share their theology, I am completely unbothered by this position. Indeed, I strongly prefer their support to the antagonism of progressives who want to see Israel destroyed for far more nefarious reasons.

Those about to fire off emails with refresher courses on the history of European Jewry, please save your efforts. For more than a century now, attacks on Jews have predominantly emanated from secular fascists and leftists, Arab nationalists, and Islamists—not Christians spreading the good word.

It is in secular France, where gruesome murders of Jews are now an annual event, that men can’t wear yarmulkes in public. And, rest assured, it is not because of Mormon missionaries. An American Jew is far more likely to encounter anti-Semitism on progressive campuses than anywhere else in this country.

If an evangelical Christian approaches you while saying, “God is good!” the only thing you are likely to lose is your time.

Ilhan Omar Accuses Israel of ‘Ethnic Cleansing’

As is well known, Israel is a multi-ethnic state, where Arab citizens have equal civil, religious, and political rights as Jews. This has not stopped others from accusing Israel of practicing “apartheid.” Israeli spokesmen then point out that in Israel, Arabs serve in the Knesset, sit on the Supreme Court, go abroad as diplomats for their country, and even, if they wish – though they are not required to – can serve in the IDF. Israeli Arabs study with Jews in universities, work alongside Jews in offices and factories, play on orchestras and sports teams with Jews.

None of this evidence has prevented Israel’s detractors from continuing to harp on that “apartheid” theme. And among those detractors, congressional pride of place must be given to Ilhan Omar, the Somali-American congresswoman, who not only continues to describe Israel as an “apartheid” state but now has a new charge: Israel, she claims, is guilty of “ethnic cleansing.”

In her first speech since being re-elected, Ilhan Omar did not choose to address economic insecurity, rising unemployment, the coronavirus epidemic. None of those. Her subject was, as it so often is, perfidious Israel.

In that speech she accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing.” Her denunciation is here: “Newly-Reelected Congresswoman Ilhan Omar Accuses Israel of ‘Ethnic Cleansing,’” Algemeiner, November 6, 2020:

Newly-reelected Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota has accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing” following the demolition earlier this week of illegal structures in a West Bank Bedouin community.

Referring to the events in Khirbet Humsa, which is located in the Jordan Valley, Omar — known for her vehement anti-Israel views and repeated use of rhetoric widely viewed as antisemitic — charged, via Twitter, on Thursday, “This a grave crime — in direct violation of international law. If they used any US equipment it also violates US law. An entire community is now homeless and will likely experience lifelong trauma. The United States of America should not be bankrolling ethnic cleansing. Anywhere.”

According to Israel‘s military liaison agency with the Palestinians, COGAT, an “enforcement activity” was carried out by Israeli forces on Tuesday “against 7 tents and 8 pens which were illegally constructed, in a firing range located in the Jordan Valley.”

“The enforcement was carried out in accordance with the authorities and procedures, and subject to operational considerations,” it added.

Israel does not practice “ethnic cleansing.” There are 1.8 million Israeli Arabs who live in Israel proper; they are not being harried, persecuted, forced to move out of the country. There are another 2.8 million Palestinian Arabs living in the West who are not being moved out of their homes, or the area, as part of any kind of “ethnic cleansing.” A few Palestinians — fewer than one in two thousand — in the West Bank have been made to move when they have built illegal structures, that is, structures for which they did not have a permit to build, that were then taken down. From 2006 until 31 August 2018, Israel demolished 1,360 Palestinian homes in the West Bank that had been built illegally, that is, without the proper permits. During that 12-year period, that works out to about 110 Palestinian homes being demolished each year. And their Palestinian inhabitants were not being “ethnically cleansed,” but simply were not being allowed to violate the law by building without the necessary permits. They were not being forced out of the country, and were free to apply for permits for building elsewhere. Jews who build without the proper permits also have had their illegal homes demolished, as at the settlement outpost of Kumi Ori, described here. Every government in the Western world requires that permits be obtained from the government by those wishing to build; why should Israel’s enforcement of that requirement be considered uniquely unacceptable?

At Khirbet Humsa, Bedouins had set up an encampment of seven tents, and eight animal pens, on land in the Jordan Valley that they did not own, and inside territory that is used by the IDF as a place for live-fire training. For years Israel has been trying to get them to move off the land to which they have no legal claim. The Bedouins availed themselves fully of Israel’s legal system, helped by left-wing Israeli lawyers. Finally, after many appeals, Israel’s High Court ruled against the Bedouin, citing their failure to have legal title to the land on which they had been living. There was also the danger to the Bedouins themselves of remaining in a live-fire zone of the IDF.

The Bedouin at Khirbet Humsa had been on notice for years that, if they lost their court case, they would have to move. But they made no plans for such an eventuality, nor did they avail themselves of the help the Israeli government offered in finding an alternative place, outside a danger zone, where they could be granted permits to pitch their seven tents.

Note that Ilhan Omar, in denouncing the demolition at Khirbet Humsa, never mentioned that the Bedouins had no legal title to the land at Khirbet Humsa. And when she claims that this “community is now homeless and will likely experience lifelong trauma,” she forgets two things. The “community” she speaks of – all of seven tents and their inhabitants – is not likely to remain “homeless” very long. Doesn’t Omar know that the Israeli government will help those Bedouins find another place on which to pitch – legally — their seven tents? And the Bedouin are unlikely to “experience lifelong trauma” from such a move; they are the quintessential nomadic people, shepherds whose livestock ordinarily require seasonal transhumance.

Nor did Ilhan Omar note that the Israelis, while flattening the tents, did not rip them to shreds, so that at least some might be reused, and that the Bedouins’ belongings were left largely intact. Nor did she mention that the Bedouins had made full use of Israel’s legal system to present their case all the way up to the High Court. In Ilhan Omar’s telling, one might think the Israelis had simply appeared out of nowhere and proceeded to ruthlessly raze to the ground, for no apparent reason, a Bedouin “village” built on land that the inhabitants had owned for generations.

There is no “ethnic cleansing” anywhere of Arabs in Israel or in the West Bank. But there has already been “ethnic cleansing” of a different sort in Gaza, where every last Jew was forced to leave in 2005. And if the Palestinians ever get their state in the West Bank, they have made it clear that there will be more “ethnic cleansing,” for no Jews will be welcome in that future state. Meanwhile, there is not now, and will not be in the future, any retaliatory “ethnic cleansing” of Arabs by Israelis. Israeli Arabs know perfectly well that they will continue to study, work, and play, side by side with Jews, and to enjoy equal rights with them.

Ilhan Omar ended by declaring that “the United States of America should not be bankrolling ethnic cleansing. Anywhere.” I take it, then, that Omar believes the U.S. should make sure none of its aid ever goes either to Gaza, which has banned Jews, or to a future Palestinian state that intends to make itself Judenrein. But I’d like to hear it from the horse’s mouth. Perhaps an inquiring reporter could ask that very question of Ilhan Omar (D-Mogadishu) at her next public appearance.

VIDEO: Islamic Censorship of U.S. Constitution

Without freedom of speech, we can’t have rational thought. Without rational thought, we can’t examine our society objectively and fix its problems.

Without freedom of thought and speech, there can be no creativity, no creative ideas.  You are not fully a human being if you can’t express your thoughts or talk about your ideas. So, you become “inhuman.”

Free speech is now being censored and attacked as hate speech. The meaning of hate is determined by political correctness. Hate speech is any speech that offends a “protected” minority.  There is little push back from Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, feminists, artists, and intellectuals because we’re afraid of being called names, being shamed, losing status or even our jobs.

Those who are courageous and want to resist becoming serfs with no voice, those who value freedom of speech and rational thought, need a way to work together. CSPII is creating such teams. If you’re interested in resisting this 21st century wave of tyranny, go to https://www.cspii.org/joinus/.

California: Muslim stabbed four ‘in the name of Allah,’ planned to read Qur’an until cops arrived, then shoot them

The Qur’an? Didn’t Faisal Mohammad know that, as Pope Francis has told us, “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence”?

Despite the fact that Mohammad “was found to have an image of the ISIS flag, a handwritten manifesto with instructions on how to behead someone, and reminders to pray to Allah,” everyone who participated was sure that his stabbings had something to do with “images of masculinity” and nothing to do with Islam, and that only “Islamophobes” thought otherwise. This is no surprise. The University of California Merced is no different from any other campus all over the country: full of indoctrinated bots who have been thoroughly imbued with the notion that when Islamic jihadists attack us, it is our fault.

“FBI releases 2015 attack plan of radicalized California university student who stabbed 4 on campus,” Associated Press, November 18, 2020 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

MERCED, Calif. – A troubled California university freshman who burst into a classroom in 2015, stabbing four people before police shot him dead, planned to praise Allah while slitting the throats of classmates and use a gun taken from an ambushed officer to kill more, according to records released by the FBI.

Authorities determined that Faisal Mohammad, an 18-year-old freshman at the University of California, Merced had no connections to organized hate or terror groups and no past behavior to suggest violence.

Still, records released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to the Daily Beast publication include a chilling, handwritten 31-step plan for the Nov. 4 attack with names of people to target.

The plan included putting on a balaclava at 7:45 a.m. and saying “in the name of Allah” before stepping into his classroom and ordering students to use zip-ties he provided to bind their hands.

Mohammad also planned to make a fake 911 distress call to report a suicidal guy [sic; this is how they write at AP these days] and wait for police outside the classroom before ambushing from behind “and slit calmly yet forcefully one of the officers with guns.”

He planned to take a gun from an officer and kill classmates before making another fake distress call to 911 to report the shootings. Step 26 was to read the Quran until he heard sirens, and then “take calm shot after shot” with the gun as authorities arrive….

…investigators said the perpetrators were influenced by the Islamic State group, but not directly connected to it. Families in both cases said they had no clue of their relatives’ radicalization.

Of course not!

Religious Freedom at Risk

400 years ago this month, a weary band of Christians from England came ashore in New England after a grueling 66-day voyage aboard the Mayflower.

The Pilgrims came for one purpose, which they spelled out in writing: “for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith.”

It was all about religious freedom. They wanted to worship Jesus in the purity of the Gospel.

150 years after the Pilgrims came, the founders of this nation enshrined religious freedom in our national charter, the Constitution.

When the Constitution was first written, there were some hesitations toward ratifying it. Many of those who accepted it did so upon the assurance that religious freedom would be guaranteed. Thus, the founders amended the Constitution with the Bill of Rights, the document’s first ten amendments.

First and foremost among these was religious freedom. The first two freedoms enshrined in the First Amendment deal with religious liberty. In effect, these liberties were understood to mean there would be no national denomination, and people were free to practice their faith as they saw fit. Implied in that is that the non-believer would be free to practice his lack of faith.

Jump forward to today, 400 years after the Pilgrims arrived, and in the land for which they sought refuge, religious freedom is at risk. With tongue and cheek, one wag asked, “Can we uninstall 2020 and install it again? This version has a virus.”

That virus, Covid-19, has been the excuse many anti-Christians bigots have used to try to hamstring churches. We have seen in the last several months an unprecedented assault on religious freedom.

Just consider a few examples:

  • Last week a judge in California ruled that strip clubs should be allowed to re-open, despite the pandemic, because the First Amendment is not nullified by a virus. And yet at the very same time, officials in California insist churches must be closed or severely limited because of the pandemic.
  • The Supreme Court ruled in the Calvary Chapel v. Sisolak case (July 24, 2020) out of Nevada that it was okay for the state to limit how many people could attend worship services, but the casinos were allowed to operate more freely. In his dissent on this case, Justice Neil Gorsuch declared, “…there is no world in which the Constitution permits Nevada to favor Caesars Palace over Calvary Chapel.”
  • Abortion clinics have been deemed “essential services” by a number of liberal governors, while churches are categorized as “non-essential.”

Rev. John MacArthur is one of the most listened-to and respected Bible teachers in our time. His church is in the greater Los Angeles area. He is generally not one to speak out on political matters. But after months of the pandemic and the way many state officials impair churches because of it, MacArthur decided that enough is enough. He reopened his church—despite threats from state and local officials.

Jenna Ellis, MacArthur’s attorney from the Thomas More Society, said “Our position has been that L. A. County shutting down churches indefinitely amid a virus with a 99.98% survival rate, especially when state-preferred businesses are open and protests are held without restriction, is unconstitutional and harmful to the free exercise of religion.”

Kelly Shackelford of First Liberty, which also fights for religious freedom, told D. James Kennedy Ministries: “All people have to do is look at the ‘experts’ saying, ‘Well, you can’t sing at church, but oh yeah, the [BLM and Antifa] protests, we’re okay with that because that’s important.”

It would appear that Christophobic bigots are using the pandemic to curb religious freedom in a country that was born for religious freedom.

Author and speaker Bill Federer once told me in a TV interview: “Tolerance was an American Christian contribution to the world. Just as you drop a pebble in the pond, the ripples go out, there was tolerance first for Puritans and then Protestants, then Catholics, then liberal Christians, and then it went out completely to Jews. Then in the early 1900s, tolerance went out to anybody of any faith, monotheist or polytheist. Finally, within the last generation, tolerance went out to the atheist, the secular humanist and the anti-religious. And the last ones in the boat decided it was too crowded and decided to push the first ones out. So now we have a unique situation in America, where everybody’s tolerated except the ones that came up with the idea. And so when people say Christians are intolerant, we really need to correct them and say, ‘No, we’re the ones that came up with the idea of tolerance.’”

The Pilgrims sacrificed everything they had to practice religious freedom. It would be horrible to see the gift they bequeathed to the world uprooted in our time by secular fundamentalists.

15 Dem Senators, including Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, urge Facebook to block ‘anti-Muslim hate’

Incitement to violence against any group should always be blocked. The problem here is that Islamic advocacy groups and their allies in the West have for years claimed that any honest discussion of the motivating ideology behind jihad violence was “anti-Muslim hate.” Facebook already makes such discussion virtually impossible to find. Expect it to be completely blacked out in a Biden/Harris administration.

“US senators call on Facebook to address anti-Muslim bigotry,” Middle East Eye, November 16, 2020 (thanks to Henry):

Democratic senators are calling on Facebook to “do more” to mitigate the spread of anti-Muslim bigotry, after the social media giant was criticised for failing to address attacks against the faith group on multiple occasions, including the aftermath of the Christchurch shootings.

In a letter sent to Facebook to CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Monday, a group of 15 Senators said the platform needed to immediately enforce its community standards to address anti-Muslim hate and ban the use of event pages for the purpose of “harassment, organizing, and violence” against the Muslim community.

The letter also said that Facebook had not taken proper steps to enforce its “call to arms” policy, a year-old rule created in large part due to pressure from Muslim advocacy groups, which since 2015 had flagged multiple instances where organisers of Facebook events had advocated for followers to bring weapons to mosques and other places of worship.

“We recognize that Facebook has announced efforts to address its role in the distribution of anti-Muslim content in some of these areas,” the letter, signed by Senator Chris Coons, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and 12 others, said.

“Nevertheless, it is not clear that the company is meaningfully better positioned to prevent further human rights abuses and violence against Muslim minorities today.”

An independent civil rights audit of the social media company released in July outlined that despite having policies that did not allow for hate speech against religious groups, incidents of hate speech continued to persist across Facebook.

Muslim Advocates, a rights group that called for the audit two years ago, thanked the senators for writing the letter.

“Since 2015, Muslim Advocates had warned Facebook that the platform’s event pages were being used by violent militias and white nationalists to organize armed rallies at mosques,” the group’s executive director Farhana Khera said on Monday.

“We need to know what Facebook plans to do to end the anti-Muslim hate and violence enabled by their platform – and end it now.”…

“As members of Congress who are deeply disturbed by the proliferation of this hate speech on your platform, we urge you to do more,” the senators’ letter read.

Biden transition official wants speech restrictions, criminalization of burning of Qur’an

I’m not in favor of the burning of any book, and I believe that people ought to read and understand the Qur’an rather than burn it. However, note that Stengel is calling for legal “guardrails” against “speech that incites hate.”

If someone burns a Bible, no one cares. If someone burns a Qur’an, there are riots and death threats. So for Stengel, burning a Bible would not be “speech that incites hate,” but burning a Qur’an would be. Saying that “speech that incites hate” must be criminalized is tantamount to calling for the heckler’s veto to be enshrined in law. Stengel says: “Yes, the First Amendment protects the ‘thought that we hate,’ but it should not protect hateful speech that can cause violence by one group against another.”

So if Muslims riot over burned Qur’ans, we must outlaw burning Qur’ans. That would only signal to Muslims that they can get us to bend to their will by threatening violence, and ensure that we will see many more such threats. In Richard Stengel’s ideal world, non-Muslims are cowed into silence by Muslims who threaten to kill them if they get out of line, and by non-Muslim officials who react to the threats by giving the Muslims what they want.

Note also that Leftist and Islamic groups in the U.S. have for years insisted, with no pushback from any mainstream politician or media figure, that essentially any and all criticism of Islam, including analysis of how Islamic jihadis use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify violence and make recruits among peaceful Muslims, is “hate speech” and “speech that incites hate.” Thus Richard Stengel will silence that as well, and the global jihad will be able to advance unopposed and unimpeded.

In a year or two I might have told you “I warned you this was coming,” but by then I probably won’t be able to.

“Joe Biden transition official wrote op-ed advocating free speech restrictions,” by Steven Nelson, New York Post, November 13, 2020:

President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team leader for US-owned media outlets wants to redefine freedom of speech and make “hate speech” a crime.

Richard Stengel is the Biden transition “Team Lead” for the US Agency for Global Media, the US government media empire that includes Voice of America, the Middle East Broadcasting Networks and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

Stengel, an Obama administration alumnus, wrote last year in a Washington Post op-ed that US freedom of speech was too unfettered and that changes must be considered.

He wrote: “All speech is not equal. And where truth cannot drive out lies, we must add new guardrails. I’m all for protecting ‘thought that we hate,’ but not speech that incites hate.”

Stengel offered two examples of speech that he has an issue with: Quran burning and circulation of “false narratives” by Russia during the 2016 election.

“Even the most sophisticated Arab diplomats that I dealt with did not understand why the First Amendment allows someone to burn a Koran. Why, they asked me, would you ever want to protect that?” Stengel wrote.

“It’s a fair question. Yes, the First Amendment protects the ‘thought that we hate,’ but it should not protect hateful speech that can cause violence by one group against another. In an age when everyone has a megaphone, that seems like a design flaw.”…

“Since World War II, many nations have passed laws to curb the incitement of racial and religious hatred. These laws started out as protections against the kinds of anti-Semitic bigotry that gave rise to the Holocaust. We call them hate speech laws, but there’s no agreed-upon definition of what hate speech actually is. In general, hate speech is speech that attacks and insults people on the basis of race, religion, ethnic origin and sexual orientation,” Stengel wrote.

“I think it’s time to consider these statutes. The modern standard of dangerous speech comes from Brandenburg v. Ohio (1969) and holds that speech that directly incites ‘imminent lawless action’ or is likely to do so can be restricted. Domestic terrorists such as Dylann Roof and Omar Mateen and the El Paso shooter were consumers of hate speech. Speech doesn’t pull the trigger, but does anyone seriously doubt that such hateful speech creates a climate where such acts are more likely?”…

Is Joe Biden an Abomination to God?

Proverbs 6:1619 NKJV.

These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.

I have recently been made aware at a men’s fellowship group of a Bible quote in Proverbs by my good friend Bob Armstrong. Joe Biden says he is a Catholic. I am a Catholic.

Because I am a Catholic I unequivocally believe in the sanctity of life, the sanctity of marriage as between one man and one woman and in the God given right to practice my religion freely in these United States of America.

As I read these words in Proverbs I wondered if Joe Biden is an abomination to God?

Joe Biden, as the head of the Democrat Party, believes in abortion, gay marriage and members of his party have suppressed freedom of religion using Covid as a useful excuse.

Let’s look at the six things that God hates and you decide if Joe Biden is an abomination to God.

  1. A proud look. A proud look speaks of a person who would want his or her will above the will of God and the will of others. It speaks of people who are arrogant and full of themselves. Does Joe Biden care more about enriching himself than feeding the poor?
  2. A lying tongue. Satan is identified as “the father of lies” (John 8:44 NLT). It’s as clear as day: God is truth, and Satan is the father of lies. Therefore when we lie, we are behaving more like the children of the devil than the children of God. Does Joe Biden lie?
  3. Hands that shed innocent blood. The most innocent of blood is that of the unborn in the womb.
  4. A heart that devises wicked plans. Look at the 2020 election and you be the judge.
  5. Feet that are swift in running to evil. Does Joe Biden denounce evil (e.g. the riots that have destroyed cities across America) or does he embrace evil?
  6. A false witness who speaks lies. Joe Biden has declared himself the president elect of the United States before the legal votes of all states have been counted and certified.
  7. One who sows discord among brethren. Does Joe Biden hate those who did not vote for him as the leader of the Democrat Party?

One may say that all of us violate each of these things that the Lord hates. This is so. None of us is without sin.

However, it is only those of us who understand that we are sinners and do everything we can to repent, only then will we be looked at with favor by God.

Many are quick to blame politicians for many of our woes. Perhaps we should blame ourselves for electing un-Godly men and women? For American was created by and for a moral people.

As President John Adams stated:

Our Constitution was made for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

Yes, politicians are sinners. Some more than others. Is Joe Biden a moral man? Is Joe Biden a religious man?

The question remains: Is Joe Biden an Abomination to God?

Please add your thoughts for or against in the comments section below.

On the political scene, it was fake-Catholic Joe Biden’s primary point in his speech to the nation on Saturday night. Meanwhile, those who do and will control him — like Occasional Cortex as just one example — are saying things like lists need to be created of Trump supporters so they can be shut out of society once the Marxists assume power.

And yes, that’s exactly what she said: Keep a database of Trump supporters to ensure they don’t get hired later on. She also took to Twitter saying, “Is anyone archiving these Trump sycophants for when they try to downplay or deny their complicity in the future?”

And if that’s not enough, the blacklist is being pushed by an ex-Obama sportsperson as well. But some stalwarts on the right like the chairman of the American Conservative Union, Matt Schlapp, took to Twitter and said this about the fake calls for getting along: “For Democrats calling for unity, you may want to actually stop counting illegal votes in Nevada first.”

And he could have continued on much more extensively from there — illegal votes and counting are occurring in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona.

On this matter, according to a survey released this morning by Rasmussen, two weeks before the election, only 6% of voters thought their votes would be counted correctly. Today, that number has more than quadrupled to a whopping 28%. More than a quarter of the U.S. population has serious doubts that their vote was treated fairly.

Add to that that findings from Monday show 70% of Republicans believe the election was neither fair nor free. These are gigantic numbers, and they reflect the reality that if Biden is sworn in, a large number of Americans will regard his presidency as illegitimate — because he and the Marxist Democratic machine (which has control of nearly all the states in question) simply cheated and cheated on a grand scale.

For more than four years, Americans were dragged through the daily bombardment of a pack of lies about Trump and anything they could pin on him — Russia, Ukraine, COVID, racism, rioting, the economy. If it could stick, they threw it at him.

The Democrats traffic in lies and so too do a number of Republicans who are in league with them in the swamp. And speaking of the swamp, the U.S. bishops as a body have been just as despicable, actually more so.

And the release yesterday of the long-awaited McCarrick Report drives that point home even further. Pope Francis is completely exonerated from any guilt or complicity in resurrecting McCarrick. So too are the closest associates of McCarrick, who are believed unquestioningly when they claim they were “shocked” to learn of this for the “first time” in the Summer of Shame.

It was all the fault of a canonized saint, the report concludes — and a handful of dead guys and Abp. Vigano. The report goes on for huge portions about the details of McCarrick’s foul deeds, like we all didn’t know that already, salacious details aside.

But when it comes to revealing certain things like the network that protected him, cooperated with him, personally profited by protecting him with their silence, it falls completely silent, except of course for naming the dead guys. And Vigano.

The report is, as long suspected, a giant whitewash, admitting mostly what was already known and reported by outfits like Church Militant (as well as many in the secular media).

For example, it speaks of McCarrick being well known for his cash payments — the “envelope culture” it’s called — detailing that he used to hand out envelopes full of large cash payments, but it steers very clear of saying whom he gave those to.

McCarrick handed out cash payments — large sums of money — for decades, especially to many in Rome. He used to carry that cash in his diplomatic pouch while traveling. But it’s certainly strange that the report confesses that again (since it is already well known) but deliberately fails to say who got the cash.

Likewise, the most well-known victim of “Uncle Ted,” a man who endured almost two decades of reprehensible abuse, James Grein, is never mentioned by name. His entire life is reduced to a mere footnote near the end of the report, and only then in reference to John Paul.

To have assembled a report on McCarrick with no reference to Grein whatsoever would be like issuing a study on the Scriptures without writing one syllable about the Holy Spirit. Unless you are a person fascinated with details about something you already have a working knowledge of, this report is a waste of time.

The very information so urgently sought of Pope Francis simply is not there. It can’t be. His inner circle, those who owe their careers to McCarrick, are the very ones advising and counseling the Pope — and Pope Francis knows that.

So what’s the relationship between the lies coming from the political Left and the deception coming from Rome? They are both pretending to want unity, but they despoil the word. Faithful Catholics and conservative Americans have simply lost trust in the respective institutions and those who run them.

Giant tech, Joe Biden, news media, higher education, you name it: They are no longer to be trusted. Likewise with Rome, a cesspool of deceit and cover-up. And neither camp is ever held to account — in this life, that is.

They want a phony unity, built on the lie. And what is the lie? The lie is that what matters is this world and this world alone, with no reference to God. The political Marxists out and out deny God and instrumentalize the good of the earth.

The theological Left doesn’t out and out deny God, but they instrumentalize the things of God. But each group is serving the Devil. Period. There is no such thing as unity built on a lie. Unity can only be had when it is built on truth.

The Vatican as well as Washington, D.C. have placed themselves in the service of the lie — both politically and theologically. This must be resisted with every fiber of your being. You must fight this evil — even if you have to die in the fight. But surrender is not an option.

Compromise with the Devil (in politics and especially morality) is how a person’s earthly life and, most especially, eternal life are doomed.

Recruiters from all extremist groups play on men’s insecurities. They know that few things are more attractive to an insecure young man than power, and they offer it along with a weapon and a supremacist doctrine.

In our latest short, What Makes a Real Man, from our Former Extremists Talk series, we ask why so many young men are attracted to extremism.

Extremists’ promise of making a man out of a boy attracts thousands of young men every year. They are guaranteed girls, drink and fighting, everything a real man should want, right?

Former white supremacist Arno Michaelis understands the allure of extremism and explains how unhealthy it is for young men to blame the world, other cultures and religions for their situation. Rather, be a man, stand up and take responsibility.

VIDEO: The Vortex — Catholicism, Not Communism

TRANSCRIPT

The only thing you need to remember this November is that the U.S. presidential race is a battle between two mega forces: Catholicism and communism. Catholicism built Western civilization. Communism’s goal is to tear it down on the way to creating a religion-free world ruled by a small cadre of elites.

That’s it — all you need to know. Everything else is detail. That’s not to say the details aren’t important — they are. The details are, in fact, how we got here. So for those interested in going beyond the summary, here we go.

It begins with the Queen of Heaven’s dire warning that Russia, on the eve of the Bolshevik Revolution, would spread her errors throughout the world. So important was this warning that it was accompanied by the most spectacularly visible miracle short of the Resurrection — the sun dancing in the sky, witnessed by 70,000 people who thought the world was coming to an end.

Before the collapse of the Soviet Union, the communists had been successful in planting time bombs throughout the West, in both cultural institutions as well as the Church. It matters little that they wouldn’t be around to watch them explode. Their effect is just as devastating as if the Soviet Union were still intact. And besides, their heirs are getting a front-row seat to the spectacle.

This election is like a proxy war between the authentic Church and worldwide communism, although it takes a discerning eye to see that looking at Donald Trump and Joe Biden. And there are some pretty strange twists at play; for example, Donald Trump, the non-Catholic, is a better standard-bearer (although certainly not perfect) for Catholicism than Joe Biden.

And that, at first, seems off because Biden is the baptized Catholic. But if you peel back that thin layer of superficial faith and political-speech slogans, you’ll actually see a communist. Biden is a communist posing as a Catholic. In that regard, he’s not unlike many Catholic politicians of his generation.

Nancy Pelosi, for example, is as “fake Catholic” as they come. And for the record, did you catch her politically motivated canonization of Congressman John Lewis? Whatever you can say about Lewis’ civil rights record, what you can’t say is that he upheld the dignity of all black lives — just the ones most expedient for his career.

Yet there was his corpse in its coffin on Capitol Hill with kiss-up, phony-Catholic Pelosi and fellow traveler “Commie Joe” lauding Lewis, making religious platitudes about his greatness. Lewis was in the U.S. House for 33 years, and during those decades, Lewis voted in favor of abortion 52 times, never once in support of life.

In those same 33 years, approximately 30 million children were hacked to death in their mothers’ wombs and sucked out through a vacuum cleaner with an attachment that has little razor blades on the tip. Given the high rate of abortions on black babies, approaching 30%, that means Lewis was complicit in the murder of nearly 9 million black babies.

Yet there were Joe and Nancy, offering incense over his rotting corpse — asserting his salvation was assured. But see, abortion is key to the commie agenda. Anything that destroys the family is sanctioned and promoted by them, and what could possibly be more destructive of the family than not allowing the next generation to emerge from the womb, alive that is, as opposed to in pieces?

But hey, Black Lives Matter, right Joe? Commie Joe is the dream candidate for commie Catholic clerics. He talks a good game about being Catholic. He hits all the right notes in the Church of Nice hymnal. He takes all the non-essential Church teachings and flips them on to the top of the heap, treating them like irreproachable dogma.

Immigration policy and the weather (which is all so-called climate change is) are not infallible teachings of the Church. But abortion, contraception, homosexual acts (to name a few) actually are. They also happen to be necessary in the communist plan for global domination, stylishly referred to as simply “globalism.”

That term is about as close to the truth as communists will ever come. Yet, in the face of all this truth, the Catholic vote is still considered a toss-up — especially in important battleground states. Catholics have been so dumbed down by gay and communist bishops and clergy for the past 50+ years, they look at Joe and see a Catholic instead of the communist he is.

He wants to outlaw conventional automobiles, destroy the fossil fuel industry, make millions of otherwise regular, working Americans completely dependent on the federal government. The man is a straight-up commie, which is why he and Bernie are now thick as thieves (literal thieves, by the way).

The elites who created Joe know all this: They just don’t want you to know about it. And that’s because they are all commies as well. In fairness, Joe (unlike Theodore McCarrick) probably didn’t start off his career as a commie.

But he sure evolved into one when it was convenient. And the reason he and his bishop buddies (who allow him to present himself as St. Joseph) are so easily able to fool so many Catholics is because Catholics don’t know their Faith. Likewise, they know next to nothing about the false church set up right in their midst by communism-loving bishops.

They don’t know the true Faith, so they can’t recognize the fake faith. The only hope of tipping the scales back — at least enough — is for committed Catholics to learn about all of this (the actual Faith as well as what has happened) and explain it to any Catholic who will give them an ear.

At Church Militant, we have been pounding this drum for more than a decade and have dedicated literally tens of thousands of man-hours to producing programming that explains all of this — the actual Faith and the plan to destroy it.

There are too many programs to list, but suffice it to say there are hundreds, with thousands of hours of material available for your viewing. It’s why we are constantly urging you to become a premium member, like we are now.

We couldn’t imagine a more pressing, urgent need for all Catholics to sign up and find out what they do not know. Everything we do here, every last ounce of our efforts, is geared toward educating you on the Faith and how traitors have attacked it. Too many of these men in miters have lied to you, ordained wicked men to pastor over you, allowed evil to grow unchecked in your families and parishes.

Those who did not actively pursue this agenda have sat back passively and sinned by omission, allowing it to happen. And now their Catholic Frankenstein is one election away from the White House. We urge you to become as involved as you possibly can in reaching out to fellow Catholics and explaining this to them.

But first, you need to know it — as much as you possibly can. That’s what you get for your $10 a month, an unmatched volume of information and catechesis — the truth and how it was betrayed. Your $10 also goes towards keeping us going in bringing free programming to people, free programming like The Vortex, for example.

We have produced almost 3,000 episodes of The Vortex over the years, and every single one has been completely free. And while it’s free to everyone to watch, it’s not free to produce. Your Premium offering goes to this effort as well.

This is true for our daily headlines and the multiple articles we produce each day. As the old saying goes, “Information is king.”

The commie traitors in the Church — clergy and politicians — have known this for decades, which is why they embarked on such a massive misinformation campaign all those years ago. Please join us in our effort to do whatever we can to make a difference in this war.

In the end, it all boils down to souls. And even a single soul has infinite value to Almighty God.

Please click on the link and become a Premium subscriber today, and then watch the shows, learn and get there and do everything you can do to roll back the misinformation and lies that Commie Joe and his Judas bishop and clergy buddies have propagated. Heaven doesn’t need us to do this, to accomplish this, but Heaven wants us to.

Heaven desires we be involved in the work of salvation. That requires knowing the truth and sharing it with others. Thank you in advance.

Do Islamists Like CAIR Represent American Muslims? The ‘Surprising’ Muslim Vote

Muslim voters more than doubled their support for Trump from 2016. We explore why.

Islamists have been successful in the U.S. of laying claim to the “Muslim voice,” garnering attention in the media and government in an effort to push through their agenda. It is with this backdrop that we look at an interesting finding of the voting patterns of the 2020 presidential election, particularly in regard to the diversity of the American Muslim community.

An Associated Press VoteCast survey, which monitored the U.S. electorate over several days before November 3 until the polls closed, showed that Muslim voters more than doubled their support for President Trump from 2016.

According to the AP, 35 percent of Muslim voters supported Trump in 2020. In 2017, the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU), an organization that provides research and education about American Muslims, reported that only 15 percent of Muslims supported Trump in 2016 (54 percent supported Hillary Clinton and 30 percent supported neither candidate).

In addition, an October ISPU poll showed that President Trump’s approval rating among Muslims steadily increased during his presidency — from 13 percent in 2018 to 16 percent in 2019 to 30 percent in 2020.

Muslims make up roughly 1 percent of the U.S. population, which translates to about 1.1 million potential voters. However, even though the 2016 ISPU report found that although 41 percent of Muslims report being satisfied with the country’s trajectory at the time, 61 percent reported that they most likely would not vote. At present, it is unknown what percentage of Muslims voted in 2020.

Speaking with Middle East Eye, Erum Ikramullah, a research project manager at ISPU, said:

“American Muslims, like other religious groups in America, are not a monolith. What our data support is that Muslims, like the general public, are not guided by their religiosity, but by their political views and opinions.”

In their 2017 survey, ISPU reported on that diversity as follows:

“Compared with other faith communities and the non-affiliated in our study, American Muslims are the youngest, with more than one-third younger than 30 years of age. American Muslims are the most ethnically and racially diverse faith group with no single background garnering a majority. Half of Muslims were born in the United States; thus, immigration continues to be a significant part of the American Muslim story. “

Director of the Clarion Intelligence Network Ryan Mauro enumerated at least six reasons for Trump’s surprising share of the 2020 Muslim vote:

  1. Trump was tougher on Iran than the Obama-Biden administration, the latter of which was responsible for pushing through the faulty Iran nuclear deal and shipping off $1.7 billion in cash to Iran, the largest state sponsor of terrorism. Presumably, Trump’s Iran policy would be favorable to both Iranian-Americans and (Sunni) Arab-Americans, as both groups bitterly oppose the Iranian regime.
  2. The Trump administration conducted airstrikes on Syria after Syrian President Bashar al-Assad used chemical warfare against his own population. The Obama-Biden administration had threatened such reprisals if Assad used chemical weapons on civilians, but when it happened, they backed off and failed to act.
  3. Trump made alliances with Saudi Arabia and was friendly to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, a popular figure among many Saudi-Americans.
  4. Trump took a verbal stand against Islamism, especially the Muslim Brotherhood, which garnered him support among the many non-Islamist Muslims. This sentiment has been continually “missed by the media because outlets rely on ‘mainstream’ Muslim organizations that actually don’t have much popular political support from Muslim-Americans,” Mauro says.
  5. Backlash from demonizing Trump and the Republican Party. Mauro says that by making it sound like Trump would wage a war on innocent Muslims (i.e., “Muslim ban”), the disconnect from reality ended up decreasing the credibility of Trump’s detractors.
  6. Although anecdotal, Mauro says that in his talks with Muslims from immigrant families, it appeared that the narrative of an “outsider” fighting for the people against the elites in the “deep state” of the government resonated with them.

In Clarion Project’s direct conversations with American Muslims in the 50-plus age bracket, national security seemed to play a significant role in how this demographic voted. (Overall, for those Americans who told the AP that foreign policy was the most important issue facing the country, 72 percent reported voting for Trump.)

In addition, first-generation Muslim immigrant voters reported respecting Trump’s strength and straight-forwardness when dealing with leaders and political issues within the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) region. Trump’s ability to deliver on peace in the Middle East was also a driver for these Muslims.

VIDEO: The Vortex — Living in a Dream World. Time to wake up.

TRANSCRIPT

Church Militant (a 501(c)4 corporation) is responsible for the content of this commentary.

As we stand here today, we still don’t know how things are going to play out in the White House race as well as in the U.S. Senate, but in the current circumstances, you’d rather be in Joe Biden’s shoes than the president’s.

Church Militant is working aggressively behind the scenes on all the issues surrounding these races and bringing you the latest (as well as most trustworthy) information and analysis available.

In the meantime, we need to deal with the reality we are in. Even if a few million votes have been included in the counts that are fraudulent — and that’s still a big if, that number — America still shifted toward embracing socialism.

Remember, it doesn’t take millions and millions of illegal or fraudulent votes to swing an election. It only takes 10,000 or so, here or there (more than that in a handful of big states like Pennsylvania), to swing an election.

But still, given that, even if you take away a couple million votes from the national count, a majority (nationally) of voters checked the box for Biden.

Currently, the numbers are:

  • Biden — 50.4% with 72,297,195 votes
  • Trump — 48% with 68,797,809 votes

You’d have to take away almost 4 million votes from Biden nationally to get to a tie.

Of course, national numbers are not distributed evenly across the country: Some places are decidedly more socialist-embracing than other places that are more American-oriented.

In fact, 13 pro-life Republican women won election to Nancy Pelosi’s Marxist-loving house — a good number of them ousting child-killing Marxists.

This is certainly something to be celebrated and good for those women, a small little red wave of women who will give Nancy or her replacement headaches next year, not to mention egg on her face.

But overall, the national embrace of socialism is certainly trending. What’s behind it? Well, a number of factors, but in this particular election, there is the big elephant in the room: Donald Trump.

According to every exit poll, a majority of voters who voted for Biden voted not for Joe, but against Trump. But why?

What is it that would create such animus for a president who had restored America’s economic might, bolstered U.S. influence around the world, been the first president to not have us involved in a foreign war in many administrations, created historically low unemployment levels across the board (especially for minority groups), delivered the largest tax cut in American history and overall raised the country to heights unseen for decades?

The answer all boils down to his personality and how he is portrayed. The American culture, greatly assisted by the U.S. hierarchy, has become massively emasculated — taught over the past decades to care more about feelings than the truth.

The educational institution was seized control of decades ago, as was the media, and in a combined effort, they embarked on a campaign to switch out the national intellect for a panoply of emotions.

Truth and justice were dropped along the wayside and replaced with emotions. Emotions have become the standard by which everything is measured, and in 2020 especially, Trump’s tone is what has motivated an avalanche of hatred against him.

It’s a classic example of “You can’t handle the truth” writ large. Trump speaks plainly. He speaks directly. But in a culture that has become terrified of truth, because of the consequences of the truth, that is anathema.

And this is where so-called conservatives need to be held up to be shamed. Too many “conservatives” have done next to nothing to prevent this tsunami of evil from engulfing the country.

Life for many conservatives — and in this group, we include Mass-going Catholics — is way too comfortable. They have grown accustomed to watching and wanting other people do something while they themselves just tweet, sign online petitions, belly-ache with friends and then think (having vented) they have actually done something.

The truth is, they have done and accomplished nothing. They sat by while their gay priests manipulated Church teaching, thinking it wouldn’t be cricket to scold him after Mass.

They would not go out, physically get up off their couches, and protest crooked bishops persecuting good and holy priests — priests who are saying the truth and trying to lead their parishioners to Heaven.

For the most part, they clutched their pearls during the scandalous McCarrick revelations, but then most moved on, pretty quickly forgetting all about it.

Too many Catholic men have swallowed the poison of toxic femininity, taking the easy way out whenever possible, betraying their innate masculine virtues of self-sacrifice on behalf of the defenseless and innocent.

The “women’s lib” movement of the 1960s has created a dual enemy of Western civilization: Toxic women and pathetic men. And if you need any proof of that, look no further than the Marxist party ticket of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Biden is living proof of the degradation of the masculine in the past half-century — a man who has the blood of tens of millions of children on his hands (as opposed to defending them in accord with his natural traits).

And Kamala Harris is the perfect Marxist woman — a woman who sold her soul early in her career through adultery to gain power and ascend to where she is now. Where were the conservative men, Catholic and otherwise, in the political arena, as the scheming and conniving Marxists were engineering their coup?

Why, when republicans had control, did they not pursue an aggressive policy of purging voter rolls over the years or lining up honest citizens to watch and monitor polls in thousands of races where the Marxists kept inching closer to power?

In the Church, where were all the men challenging the hierarchy and its evil, despicable deeds? Even today, why is James Martin allowed to roam freely around the nation’s dioceses, only seldom meeting any resistance from men who, online, present themselves as faithful?

The point of all this is simple: What is playing out before us is the final act in a play begun long ago that was ignored by those who have the intelligence to understand what’s going on but are severely lacking in the will to actually do something about it.

And then, suddenly, when the reality of the consequences of their inaction hits them square in the face, they start issuing calls for prayers.

Why? Because we’ve reached the end — or at least appear to have. Why should our Heavenly Father answer the prayers of a people that did nothing — or next to nothing — for decades as they idly watched a culture falling apart or their Church being overrun Sunday by Sunday?

Why should He answer those prayers if there is no firm purpose of amending our ways? The Catholic Church has been allowed to sink into a sea of disgrace, and it’s because over a half-century ago, Catholic men were happy to make a bargain with the bishops.

They would ignore the evil in the hierarchy in exchange for silence on contraception. And that bargain is still in effect, with no end in sight. A huge majority of Catholics and their bishops have been happy to accept a world of gray, have refused or failed to see the world straight on as it is, in terms of black and white.

They live in a dream world. Donald Trump speaks in those terms, and that is what has upset so many people. The president is direct. At the end of the day, it’s not just the tone; it’s the message.

The entire universe is ordered in terms of black and white, including (most importantly) salvation. Anyone who lives outside of this truth is not likely to be saved. That’s why the evil that spews from the mouth of Bp. Barron is so poisonous: The garbage that “We have a reasonable hope that all men are saved” is pernicious.

But evil always shows its true face eventually, and Barron came out cheering for James Martin’s latest book on “spirituality.” Get real, bishop. Another example — among many — of a failed man rising to power in the Church.

Faithful Catholics, political conservatives cannot coexist with these Marxists in the Church and the culture. They must be exposed, battled against and defeated.

And when you look at big-name conservative cultural icons, be careful.  Even though they say something (even many things) that is spot on, they are only talking about the symptoms of the cultural rot.

As long as they fail to recognize that contraception and the worldview that supports it is what has brought us to this point, ultimately, they provide nothing but historical footnotes. They present the symptoms — sometimes very well — but they entirely miss the diagnosis. That scenario will never arrive at a cure, if a cure is even possible anymore, before it all ends fatally.

We are witnessing a euthanizing of Western civilization and can do nothing about it because the “hospital” was long ago taken over by killers while we were allowing ourselves to be put to sleep.

Whether the final call is a Trump come-from-behind victory or a Biden descent-into-even-more-evil, unless men, especially Catholic men, commit to reversing this in whatever circumstances present themselves, expect nothing to change.

Men, are you going to finally throw off the shackles of half a century of toxic femininity, or are you going to be content to watch the lights go out?

As a program note, Church Militant will be live at 6:30 p.m. ET Friday with a post-election update.

Hope Suppressed by Facebook

Most Americans — Democrats and Republicans — know that social media engages in political censorship. And you would have to be naïve not to see that conservative viewpoints are the chief victims — as documented daily at https://censortrack.org/ (although some still try to deny it).

Some of the complaints involve subtle discrimination — what shows up in someone’s news feed for example. But this week, one Christian organization has suffered the Facebook equivalent of capital punishment, by having all of their content removed. Try to access the Facebook page for Restored Hope Network (RHN), and all you will see is the ominous message, “This Page Isn’t Available. The link may be broken, or the page may have been removed.”

Facebook’s ax came down on RHN with no advance notice, and no explanation. Restored Hope Network (their website, fortunately, is still up) is the world’s leading network of Christian ministries serving those with unwanted same-sex attractions. They believe that through a combination of psychological insight and spiritual transformation, it is possible to see a reduction in such attractions, and many have testified to experiencing such change. In addition, they hold that any believer in Christ has a right to seek the help of others in living a life that conforms to the moral teachings of Scripture.

LGBT activists, however, have dubbed such sexual orientation change efforts (SOCE) as “conversion therapy” (a term never used by those in the field), and are waging war upon it. Facebook is obviously responding to pressure from such activists, who claim (falsely) that there is no evidence such counseling is effective and abundant evidence that it is harmful. A Facebook official in Europe announced in July a policy to bar content promoting so-called “conversion therapy.” A few days later, the left-wing media watchdog Media Matters gave its own recommendation of some groups it thought Facebook should censor — including Restored Hope Network.

They included three examples of RHN Facebook posts — none of which support the idea that allowing people to seek change is a form of “hate speech.” One features a quote from Dr. Linda Seiler, who formerly identified as transgender, who states, “Regular science shows you’re not hardwired, born this way.” Recent research debunking the theory of a “gay gene” shows Seiler is right. Another advertises a video by Joe Dallas, a long-time ex-gay leader, “Why Am I Gay? Why Can’t I Change?” and says that “women and men in our congregations are asking that very question.” This is clearly directed at the church, and censoring it is blatant anti-Christian bigotry. Finally, a promo for an RHN conference features Anne Paulk, a former lesbian who is the Executive Director of Restored Hope Network, saying, “Homosexuality is a relational deficit that needs a relational solution.” While some may take offense at the word “deficit,” this was a statement about the origins of same-sex attractions, and the “solution” for people who voluntarily seek to overcome them.

This focus on the causes of same-sex attraction is squarely within the realm of mainstream scientific debate. Even the American Psychological Association, though critical of SOCE, has said:

“[M]uch research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social and cultural influences on sexual orientation… Many think that nature and nurture both play complex roles…”

When grilled about “the cancel culture mob” at a congressional hearing in July, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg said, “I believe strongly in free expression. Giving people a voice is an important part of what our services do, and I’m very worried about some of the forces of illiberalism that I see in this country that are pushing against free expression.” If Zuckerberg meant what he said, he should un-cancel Restored Hope Network immediately.
