VIDEO: Donald Trump’s Congressional Testimony on the 1991 Economic Depression
The House Task Force on Urgent Fiscal Issues met on November 21, 1991 to discuss the credit shortage in the U.S. and whether it is stifling America’s economic recovery.
Witnesses at the hearing included financier Donald Trump and the former chairman of the FDIC, William Seidman, who testified on the current recession and proposals to spur economic growth and investment.

When this debate, was placed before the American people in 1991, Ronald Reagan had DEFEATED, the Soviet Union in the Cold War. America’s economy had recovered from 18% + prime interest rates, and gas lines. Even given this obvious turn around, Trump was in Washington, testifiying for politicians, that wanted to return to the pay for play unlevel playing field tax code. the savings and loan collapse, was a ticking time bomb, bought and paid for by Washington insiders and complicit politicians, like John McCain. Trump’s hyperbolic testimony was crucial to helping Democrats PRESSURE George Bush Senior to go back on his “read my lips” pledge.
Trump was part of the liberal army that caused Bush Senior, to be a one term President, evern after achieving a 90% approval rating after the Gulf War.
We can thank Trump for the Clinton Presidency, almost as much a Ross Perot. Now it has come full circle – Trump is the billionaire gadfly, triangulating the electorate, to insure a Clinton win. Trump will drive his negative numbers so high with women, that he can NEVER BE PRESIDENT, and will destroy the Republican Party in the Process. This is particularly ironic, because the Republican Party grass roots, is largely grandmothers.
