Jews and Christians are being persecuted across the globe. That persecution has come to a public school in Tampa, Florida. The persecutor is a teacher who is a lesbian. Her name is Lora Jane Riedas. Her lesbian partner is also a teacher at the same Riverview High School.

Riedas is a Chapter leader of the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN). MassResistance reported:

Why are so many kids – many of them troubled – now “coming out” as homosexuals, announcing to everyone that this is their true “identity”, that it’s “who they are”? It doesn’t happen by accident. It’s carefully calculated by national homosexual activist groups pushing their programs in the nation’s schools.

This is the fourth part in our series on this year’s annual GLSEN Conference in Boston in April [2014] which brought together LGBT teachers, activists, and supportive administrators where they outlined their latest tactics for the schools. Part III exposed the transgender agenda in schools. Part II revealed their plans to push “gay clubs” in middle schools.

from The Blaze in an article titled Florida teacher reportedly banned students from wearing crosses, now threatened with legal action reports:

A Tampa, Florida, high school teacher has prohibited several students from wearing cross necklaces in her classroom, and the school district is now opening an investigation into the matter.

According to a letter sent on Thursday to Hillsborough County Public Schools from Liberty Counsel, a nonprofit organization specializing in legal cases involving constitutional law, math teacher Lora Jane Riedas allegedly told at least three of her students that they were not allowed to wear the Christian emblem because it represented a gang symbol. One of the crosses, according to Liberty Counsel, is less than an inch tall.

“We write on behalf of parents of children in the classroom of teacher Lora Jane Riedas, a math teacher at Riverview High School, who report that Ms. Riedas has prohibited at least three children from wearing Christian cross necklaces in her classroom, claiming on occasion that they are ‘gang symbols,’” the letter said. “They are not gang symbols, but are symbols of personal faith.”

“[Riedas said] ‘I need you to take your necklace off.’ Our client asked ‘Why?’ and Ms. Riedas refused to explain, stating ‘That’s disrespectful; you have to take it off.’ Our client did not want to be disrespectful, so she took it off, but she felt bad because she felt she was being forced to deny her faith. All of our clients are afraid to openly wear their cross necklaces in class any more,” the letter stated, detailing a Christian student’s interaction with the teacher.

According to a Liberty Counsel statement:

Riedas’ classroom décor blatantly promotes a pro-LGBT agenda. Riedas retweeted, apparently during the school day, “favorite queer web series for kids” from “huffpostqueer” stating: “Here’s how to talk to kids about what it means to be an LGBTQ ally.” She is part of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network’s (GLSEN) Leadership Institute.

Riedas has prohibited at least three students from wearing Christian cross necklaces in her classroom, claiming they are “gang symbols.” One of the crosses, a tiny crucifix worn by Liberty Counsel’s ninth grade client, is less than one inch long. Riedas demanded the student stop wearing her cross necklace and singled her out for several false “misbehavior” allegations after the student removed the LGBT rainbow sticker from her class notebook. Riedas’ lesbian partner, who is also a teacher at Riverview, dressed as a nun for school spirit week, complete with a “cross necklace” made of skulls. She tweeted she has “a bad habit” and the point is to be “creepy.”

This persecution of young Christians is child abuse at best and a possible hate crime at worst.

Here’s a goofy after-school routine to giggle your kids … and buckle your mind.

Grab ‘em by the ankles … turn ‘em upside down … and give a mighty shake. Do it every day … for a week or two … and see what tumbles out of their little noggins. Have a good stare.

Too many schools aren’t just schools any more. Some are mini-gulags.

Some schools knead mushy minds like clay … and glaze kids with a special finish no one asked for … because too many parents are just too easy to blindside. Easily sucker-punched. Because they expect schools to look like the schools of not-so-long ago … you know, places where kids learned to add and read and make pals. And memories.

    They expected wrong. Here’s why.

Some kids are actually “kid”-napped … by gallsy-ballsy social justice evangelists who think it’s their civic duty to baptize children into their hare krishna-ed congregation. They’re the anti-apostles … preferring their brand of not-so-free will to any other adult influence. And parents have no role. And almost no awareness. The true-believers have it all covered.

It’s up to parents to sniff out what’s happening.

And they’d better glare these folks straight in the eye … because they think your kid’s easy to pied-pipe. A cinchy challenge. Because kids trust adults … and in schools … adults are gods.

Ten years ago … before I was vacuumed into this Common Core nightmare … I met an uncanny lady with a mesmerizing sense of sarcasm. A highly credentialed nurse, a road-runner, and as politically aware as they come.

    And she was a shield-maiden. A shield-banger. Tough.

She had three kids deep in the high school thing … and a caboose-baby back in elementary school. All in story-book public schools.

But the stories she heard from her kids troubled her. So she troubled herself to find out all she could.

Suppertime was her “deprogramming hour”. Her term, not mine. She dug into her kids’ brains as they dug into her dinners.

She knew everything about every teacher … their reputations, their politics, and their scholarship. And that mattered to her. She kept to that dinner ritual as religiously as teenage schedules would allow … and nothing slipped by her. Nothing.

She knew of every assignment and project … scanned the classroom radar-blips. And when she sensed teachers or administrators crossing her line in the sand, she’d pound her shield and sprint into battle … armed to the teeth with irrefutable facts and crystal clear logic. Unusual lady.

    She’s not so unique anymore.

Vigilant parents sense what’s going on. And lots are now steel-spined … and unafraid to lock horns with any adult that tries to put a top-spin on their kid.

But these social justice pushers are bolder than ever … because they sense a ripe atmosphere for their social sermonizing. And today’s headlines are in-your-face proof of their arrogance.

“Copiague Teachers Kneel During Pledge on Trump Inauguration Day, Sparking Probe”

“Philly Teachers Plan Black Lives Matter Week — Not All Are Happy”

“Bassett Unified Declares all Campuses as Safe, Sanctuary Schools”

“Kindergarten Teacher Refuses to Let Boys play with Legos in the Name of Gender Equality”

“’Gender Inclusive’ School District Says Drop ‘boys and girls,’ Call Kids ‘purple penguins’”

“Purple penguins”. I’m not kiddin’. Now that’s a cold-cold gulag, for sure.

These social justice junkies see nothing wrong with this stuff. In fact, they’ll rail about their “higher aspirations” for education … and the “new consciousness” their cultivating for the new world that’s under construction.

They’re real saviors. The saviors lots of you didn’t really ask for at all. Uninvited pests.

And they think you’re unconscious morons for expecting multiplication or writing or some science to dominate the learning landscape. And so those subjects get “refreshed’ … re-glazed, like your kid … so a geography lesson is premised on environmental terrorism and the inhumanity of borders. And the Civil War is a platform for ripping down 100 year old statues … and forbidding certain flags that just don’t jive with their historical bleaching.

They don’t even trouble themselves with subtle anymore.

It’s easy-glib for these guys. And they’re in your face. Replete with corny power salutes, cheapo t-shirts, and jive-epithets … and the ever popular “root cause” pretext. Some schools proudly commit to full-days of hajib-wearing and “white privilege” confessions … set to rap, of course.

And they get snotty-nervy … peeved-off … when someone like my shield-maiden friend calls them out for their own prejudices and intolerance. So they tattoo questioning parents with labels made famous by the angry-class … bigot, racist, intolerant, xenophobe. You know the spew.

This goes on in the schools you pay for … by teachers and school leaders in your employ. And they haven’t a blush about sneering at parents who don’t share their vision of the world … and they snicker with that piggish superiority of “Animal Farm”.

Who recalls a day when these people … paid by us … worked for us and not for some ideology? It wasn’t so long ago that schools were all about kid stuff … untroubled by troubled adults. Unbothered by these ideological hucksters.

But now they’re here … and they’re taking advantage of the chaos in education brought about by a lousy reform … and a society-splitting political moment that allows them some easy slither.

That’s the landscape. But not the whole story.

Common Core has been bad stuff from the jump. Explained away with a litany of cop-outs … Misconceived. Misapplied. Misunderstood.

    Try … Mistake.

    That’s the epitaph. And it’s well-deserved.

Lots of folks are wondering what the hell happened to their schools. And their children’s innocence. And their education.

That’s legitimate stuff because that already-bad reform has been made even more ridiculous by some shady actors who care little about education … and even less about children.

These reform-posers are a sloppy crowd. Cock-sure ideologues taking advantage of the reform momentum to peddle their biased junk. These are suspect characters … disguised as legitimate educators. Which they’re not.

They let loose their mayhem … and some disturbing weirdness bubbles up. And alarms sound off … especially among frustrated parents already deep in this reform idiocy… like the hair-pulling math, the close reading madness, the loss of recess, and the imbecilic testing. It puts parents and schools at odds. And now odd is now all over the place.

This nation is on a dysfunctional odyssey … and we’ve become more and more polarized … fractured over race and healthcare and wealth … and borders and bathrooms.

It’s even leeching into the schools … helped along by these zealots who politicize classrooms. Many have become skilled puppeteers … dangling and yanking kids… because they can’t resist.

It’s a helluva cultural tornado … made more intense by a long, hot election season that seems to never subside. Which brings us to this moment.

It’s hot in America this winter.

And these fiery times have supplied new arrogance to those who insist on the superiority of their own biases … and who demand that everyone … every student … join their intolerant jamboree under their perverted sense of tolerance.

It’s all unfolding at light-speed. And it’s all subsidized by you. Whether you like it or not. And lots don’t.

And so the climate-changers are banning books.

The Black Lives Matter crowd is infusing classrooms with week-long tirades about American injustice.

The immigration controversy has halloweened schools into hosting Hajib Day.

And a pair of windmill-charging teacher-kneelers on Long Island … auditioning for the Saul Alinsky Newcomer Award …. took a knee during the inaugural Pledge of Allegiance … in front of their classes. In a bold display of … prejudice.

That’s not brave stuff. That’s cheesy manipulation.

The issue isn’t so much the topics. The issue is the bias. The one-sidedness of it all. And the fact that kids are captive audiences. Confined. At the mercy of some adults who’ve lost their own balance.

Damn right … schools should be sanctuaries … but not for the same reasons as these imposters of impartiality suggest.

Schools should be sanctuaries where young minds question. Listen. Discuss. Debate. Think.

They’re not designed for indoctrination. Nor for single-sided arguments. Or for mind-bending.

Lots of activist-educators are demanding that America be altered, remodeled, rejuvenated, redirected … and most especially … cured. But only if those cures pass their muster. And they’re using their classrooms … and our sons and daughters … to champion their remedies.

    Unfair. Unethical. Unwise.

Schools should never be ideological incubators. That’s not their mission … nor is that part of the compact with those who fund and support public education.

Public schools are not pipelines to the activist major leagues. They’re not breeding grounds for cultural jihadis. They’re institutions of fair examination and equitable consideration of all ideas … not just some.

This isn’t a slam against daring thinking. But it is a slam against teachers who betray their classroom posture of neutrality to favor this or that point of view.

It’s a teacher’s obligation to guide youngsters to discover their own truths … not to pour them a glass of Kool-Aid.
