There have been those who have criticized President Trump for not taking sides when addressing the events which occurred at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. President Trump rather focused on the root cause of what happened – hateful and unlawful behavior by some on both sides. President Trump has stood as the law and order President, and he has made good on that campaign promise. There have been many rallies over the history of America. Some, due to the actions of a few, have become violent and deadly. This was the case in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Who is to blame for what happened in Charlottesville? Charlottesville!
President Trump understands what happened in Charlottesville. The President at his press conference at Trump Tower in New York City stated:
I’ve condemned many different groups. But not all of those people were neo-Nazis, believe me. Not all of those people were White Supremacists, by any stretch. Those people were also there because they wanted to protest the taking down of a statue, Robert E. Lee.
[ … ]
So this week it’s Robert E. Lee. I noticed that Stonewall Jackson’s coming down. I wonder, is it George Washington next week? And is it Thomas Jefferson the week after?
You know, you all — you really do have to ask yourself, where does it stop? But they were there to protest — excuse me. You take a look, the night before, they were there to protest the taking down of the statue of Robert E. Lee.
[ … ]
Are we going to take down the statue [of Thomas Jefferson]? Because he was a major slave-owner. Now, are we going to take down his statue? So you know what? It’s fine. You’re changing history. You’re changing culture. [ Emphasis added]
Destroying history is wrong on many fronts. As George Santayana said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
If you destroy all of the artifacts of the past how can one remember the past? The Civil War is part of American History. It is, perhaps only after the American Revolution, the most important historical event to ever take place. The Constitutional Republic was splintered and in danger of collapsing.
General Robert E. Lee isn’t the issue. The preservation of America, and its history, is the issue. President Trump understands this.
The media, politicians and pundits love the prefix “alt.” So we decided to, like Drudge who used the term in a headline Alt-Trump, to apply the prefix to what the President stands for Alt-America. If anything President Trump is the first Alt-American president. That is why he is so loved and hated.
What is an Alt-American?
It is someone who wants to make America great, again. Someone who puts America and Americans first. Someone who understands the business of America is American businesses. Someone who believes in God and not government. Someone who believes that this nation was founded on the principles of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. One who loves the American flag, defends American principles and will die for America if called upon.
There are over 63 million Alt-Americans who voted for President Trump and that number is growing day by day.
Alt-Americans are those who love the American flag, proudly stand when the National Anthem is played and put their hands over their hearts when citing the Pledge of Allegiance.
Then there are those who see the American flag as a symbol of racism and bigotry. Would never stand for the National Anthem let alone pledge allegiance to the United States of America.
Those who caused violence in Charlottesville fall into the hate America group.
President Trump made the right call. He came down on the side of peace and love. He condemned the hate and violence. What more can one want in a President?
President Trump is an Alt-American!
