The opposite of love is not hate; it is fear!

We took the title of this column from American businessman, author, speaker, musician and song writer John Michael Chambers, who wrote:

“The opposite of love is not hate; it is fear. So choose to love. As you obtain more and more truths, then take the correct steps in implementing change, the fear subsides.”

There are many Americans who love one another. Matthew 22:36-40 (KJV) reads:

³⁶ Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

³⁷ Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

³⁸ This is the first and great commandment.

³⁹ And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

⁴⁰ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

The difference between those who love God and their neighbors and those who hate God and their neighbors is fear.

I am on the TrainDemocrats.org email list. I went back and looked at some of the messages they send out on a weekly basis. Here are a few images contained in recent ones:

The email containing this graphic stated: “Late night host David Letterman SCHOOLED Donald Trump! YES!! There’s no better way to put it!”

The email containing this graphic stated: Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans will vote on a budget that slashes Medicare by half a TRILLION dollars. They’re gutting a life-saving program so they can give themselves and their wealthy friends a tax break. It’s SICKENING.

The email containing this graphic stated: Vice President Mike Pence is leading cruel attacks on the LGBT community: Listen, this is utterly disgusting and revolting. Mike Pence could possibly be our President. That would be AWFUL for millions of marginalized Americans.

The objective of TrainDemocrats.org is to strike fear in the hearts and put false narratives in the minds of those on their email list. But why? Answer: Keep their constituents afraid to keep them in the fold. Fear breeds hate, not love.

All three of these graphics are lies.

GRAPHIC 1: President Trump is not ignorant, nor is he insulting to America. President Trump is just the opposite. He loves America, the American flag and our National Anthem. Just look at his tweets on the NFL players taking a knee.

GRAPHIC 2: The 2018 budget plan passed by the U.S. Senate does not cut Medicare. As USA Today reporting on the budget plan stated, “It is not a law, so the budget cannot actually cut or raise spending or taxes.”

GRAPHIC 3: This graphic was based upon a story using “anonymous sources” published in The New Yorker and tweeted by Chelsea Clinton, Josh Groban and George Takei. The story was denounced by the Office of the Vice President.

One must overcome fear as there is nothing to fear but fear itself.

Nicole Unice in an article titled “10 Scriptures to Read When You’re Living in Fear – It’s impossible to show the selfless love of Jesus when you’re overcome with fear” quoted Isaiah 8:11-12:

The Lord spoke to me with his strong hand upon me, warning me not to follow the way of this people. He said: “Do not call conspiracy everything that these people call conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it.”

Unice notes, “The promise: God provides us a different way. Long before 24-hour news networks, God knew we would be drawn to live in fear like those who don’t know Him. We must acknowledge this temptation and pray that God would give us a spirit of boldness rather than dread.”

Maybe those who get these emails from TrainDemocrats.org need redemption? Fear is the darkness. Love is the light.
