Sweeping DNA Study Supports Creationism?
In May, 2018 Mark Stoeckle Senior Research Associate in the Program for the Human Environment at Rockefeller University in New York and Dr. David Thaler Center for Molecular Life Sciences at the University of Basel in Switzerland published the results of a study in which they compared five million gene snapshots (DNA bar codes) collected from 100,000 animal species by hundreds of researchers around the world and deposited in the U.S. government-run GenBank database.
What Stoeckle and Thaler found upends evolution theory and appears to support creationism in several ways.
Stoeckle and Thaler reported:
- For the planet’s 7.6 billion people, 500 million house sparrows, or 100,000 sandpipers, genetic diversity “is about the same.”
- That species with large, far-flung populations—from ants, to rats, to humans—do not become more genetically diverse over time.
- That nine out of 10 species on Earth today, including humans, came into being 100,000 to 200,000 years ago.
- In analyzing the bar codes, across 100,000 species, found a telltale sign showing that almost all the animals emerged about the same time as humans.
- Species have very clear genetic boundaries, and there’s nothing much in between.
Elizabeth M. Economou in an article titled “New DNA Findings Raise More Questions About Theory of Evolution” reported:
“This [study’s] conclusion is very surprising, and I fought against it as hard as I could,” Thaler also told AFP (Agence France-Presse), the international news agency headquartered in Paris.
“What’s astounding to me in hearing about this study is that although evolutionary science is still not totally established, it is taught as unwavering fact in grade school through college,” a mortgage professional from North Carolina told LifeZette. “I questioned evolution and defended creationism in high school and was basically mocked by teachers. Now it turns out there is so much more to learn — and each step seems to strengthen creationism’s case.”
In his 1859 book, “On the Origin of the Species,” widely considered the foundation for evolutionary biology, Charles Darwin himself wrote, “If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ [structure], existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modification, my theory would absolutely break down.”
Experts see more questions ahead for those who support evolution theories.
“There’s a great danger to the evolutionary model in this study in ways they don’t quite realize yet,” Dr. Nathaniel Jeanson, a research biologist for Answers in Genesis, told OneNewsNow of evolutionary theorists.
It appears that science now gives greater credence to Genesis 1: 20-24,
20 And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” 23 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.
24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
The truth is being revealed.
Very Interesting. This may help some people who had doubts with their faith.
Does not support god at all, they’re are still that 10% of species older then us. plus there is still evidence disputing intelligent design. Not to mention other species existed before us, it just changes the theory of evolution does not refute.
There is no evidence disputing ID. Even scientists who are atheists are searching for planets with alien intelligence because they know that life could not have begun on its own. So they are looking for an alien intelligence that could have made life and then brought it here.
I have a few questions for all those misguided evolutionists.
If life began by itself, how did it become a cell? We see cells needing a factory to fabricate new cells. Consider what is needed to make a cell. And all of it inside an already existing cell.
Just how is a not yet existing cell supposed to form itself?
And when a cell is formed, does it not need to receive nutrients? Just how would a never before existing cell supposed to have a system to take in nutrients. It didn’t have DNA to tell it to have it.
Then how would it be able to replicate. It would no anything about replicating.
If it needed to evolve, how would it survive billions of years before it was able to nourish itself, and then be able to replicate.
Not going to happen. Not without an intelligence.
This does not support Creationist part if the Bible, it supports Noah’s flood, which would cause exactly this new beginning for mitochondrial genetic diversity. This is what we would expect if the timeline were stretched between Adam and Noah, and then Noah to the present would be a mere few hundred thousand years. This lines science up with the Bible very neatly in my view.
