Déjà vu: Kerry’s 2018 meetings with Iran mirror his meetings with North Vietnamese Communists in 1970

Multiple news outlets are reporting that former Secretary of State John F. Kerry, the author of the Iran deal, is meeting with senior Iranian officials.

In a New York Post column titled “Kerry admits to meeting Iranian officials over nuclear deal” Lia Eustachewich reported:

Former Secretary of State John Kerry admitted Wednesday that he’s met with top Iranian officials in hopes of salvaging the scrapped nuclear deal — as he slammed the Trump administration for trying to further “isolate” Iran.

The one-time presidential candidate said he’s sat down with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif “three or four times” in places including Norway and Munich since leaving office last year.

This lead to President Trump tweeting:

John Kerry has a history of meeting with and supporting America’s enemies.

At the Paris Peace Talks in late May 1970, Kerry met with delegations representing both the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (DRV, the government of the North Vietnamese communists) and the Provisional Revolutionary Government (PVR, which was an arm of the DRV that included the Vietcong). Neither of these delegations included anyone representing the interests of the U.S., its allies, or the South Vietnamese. Kerry and the delegates discussed a variety of proposals for ending the war—especially the seven points enumerated by the top Vietnamese delegate, Madame Nguyen Thi Binh (a winner of the Lenin Peace Prize). Kerry, who met face-to-face with Binh as well, strongly advised the U.S. Senate to accept those points.

It should be noted that Kerry took part in the aforementioned meetings even as then-National Security Adviser Henry Kissinger was trying to negotiate formally with Binh and the Viet Cong on behalf of the Nixon administration. Researcher and author Jerry Corsi, an expert on the anti-war movement, said: “You don’t advocate that [seven-point] plan unless you are on the communist side. It was seen as surrender. [The U.S.] would have had to pay reparations and agree that we essentially lost the war…. Kerry was openly advocating that the communist position was correct and that we were wrong. He had become a spokesman for the communist party.”

At that time, Kerry himself acknowledged that his visits to Paris were “on the borderline of private individuals negotiating, et cetera.” This was significant because a federal law known as the Uniform Code of Military Justice prescribed severe punishment (including, in some cases, the death penalty) for any person who “without proper authority, knowingly harbors or protects or gives intelligence to or communicates or corresponds with or holds any intercourse with the enemy, either directly or indirectly.” Jerry Corsi affirmed that Kerry violated U.S. code 18 U.S.C. 953, which states: “A U.S. citizen cannot go abroad and negotiate with a foreign power.”

in a July, 2017 column titled “Iran still top state sponsor of terrorism, U.S. report says” noted:

Iran continues to be the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, the Trump administration said Wednesday in a new report that also noted a decline in the number of terrorist attacks globally between 2015 and 2016.

In its annual “Country Reports on Terrorism” released Wednesday, the State Department said Iran was the planet’s “foremost” state sponsor of terrorism in 2016, a dubious distinction the country has held for many years. It said Iran was firm in its backing of anti-Israel groups as well as proxies that have destabilized already devastating conflicts in Iraq, Syria and Yemen. It also said Iran continued to recruit in Afghanistan and Pakistan for Shiite militia members to fight in Syria and Iraq. And, it said Iranian support for Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement was unchanged.

Linda Goudsmit in a column titled “Connecting the Dots: Islamism — Socialism — Globalism reported that Communism and Islam are inextricably linked. Goudsmit wrote:

The Islamist and the Globalist are both soldiers in their parallel wars seeking totalitarian rule of the world. The difference between Islamists and Globalists is the difference between communism and socialism described by Ayn Rand:

THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COMMUNISM AND SOCIALISM, EXCEPT IN THE MEANS OF ACHIEVING THE SAME ULTIMATE END: COMMUNISM PROPOSES TO ENSLAVE MEN BY FORCE, SOCIALISM — BY VOTE. IT IS MERELY THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MURDER AND SUICIDE.”

Islamism and Globalism appear to exist on opposite sides of the political spectrum but they share a common enemy – the nation state.

Kerry sided and marched with our Communist enemies in the 1970s and is now siding with the Iranian regime, the largest sponsor of global terrorism. History tells us that when John Kerry gets involved in American foreign policy, America loses.

It’s déjà vu all over again.
