VIDEO: The First U.S. President in my Lifetime to Openly Declare Jesus as ‘The Redeemer’

“God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”  – John 3:16

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14

For the first time in my lifetime I have witnesses a sitting President declare Jesus Christ as our Redeemer.

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus let us not forget that He was the very first Christmas present to the world. Jesus is truly the gift that keeps on giving. For whoever believes in Him shall have life everlasting. What more can one ask for?

Trump is simply reading a script in the Youtube video that you posted in your Remnant version. Jesus said: “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. . . . A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. . . . Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them” (Matt. 7:15-20). Paul told the Philippians: “It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition. . . . But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice” (Phil. 1:15-18). Paul told the Colossians: “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ” (Col. 2:6-8). Paul wrote to young pastor Timothy: “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life”(1 Tim. 1:15-16). The fact that it is a trustworthy saying means all who sincerely follow Christ will agree that they can identify it as their own testimony.

Trump has done little, if anything, to show that he has surrendered in simple faith, sincere faith, to Jesus as the Lord of his life. His fruit has shown and still shows that he stands in the line of false prophets who will say anything to gain people’s approval – and this is an example. His behavior has shown and still shows that he does everything out of selfish ambition in his attempt to hold dictatorial power. He has not, by his actions, shown that he has received Christ as Lord and desires to live in that attitude. He has openly stated that he does not need to confess his sins and does not bring God into the equation of his decision-making. Thus, he has not shown that he identifies in any way with Paul’s admonition to Timothy, which applies to all true Christ followers, that he is a sinner in need of God’s saving grace. Trump is grasping at straws. This appears to be part of his last-ditch effort to hold onto the support he receives from evangelical Christians who are so tied to far-right republican politics that they can’t see beyond the deception. And the amazing thing in this message? Trump just preached the gospel, probably without realizing it. An astonishing way in which God works during the Christmas season is that many people in the public spotlight (e.g., entertainers, singers, actors, political leaders) deliver the gospel even though they don’t even believe in it and haven’t the faintest interest in putting their faith in Jesus as Lord.
