TAKE ACTION: Leftists Target Democrat Senators Manchin and Sinema for Opposing S.1 Election Bill

Liberal dark money group and Washington Post target U.S. Senators Manchin, Sinema to support S1 “For the People Act” election bill that will lead to massive fraud and anarchy.

Fox News published an article titled  Liberal dark money group launches ads targeting Sinema, Manchin to support S1 election bill.

The article states in part:

A liberal dark money group is launching advertisements in the states of Democratic Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema in an attempt to get their constituents in West Virginia and Arizona to pressure them into supporting their party’s controversial election overhaul bill.

The VoteVets Action Fund, the dark money advocacy arm of the liberal group VoteVets, paid for the two ads aimed at pressuring the two moderate Democrats to back the sweeping election bill S.1, the For the People Act, which progressives in the party want to pass by killing the filibuster.

Sinema is a co-sponsor of the measure but doesn’t agree with the call from progressives in the Democratic Party to kill the filibuster.
Manchin has voiced his concerns about the bill and has slammed the media for its obsession over asking him about his position on the filibuster, saying reporters “ask the same question every day.” In an April op-ed he said, “There is no circumstance in which I will vote to eliminate or weaken the filibuster.”

During an interview with Vox in April, Manchin warned that the sweeping election bill could lead to “anarchy” and erode public trust in elections.

H.R.1 Titled “For The People” 

One America News published an article titled:  Proposed bill H.R.1. gives Congress total authority over future elections.  The article summary states:  Democrats in Congress are rushing to push through a radical new bill that would give Congress ultimate authority over all future elections.  One America’s Pearson Sharp explains how the bill, known as H.R.1., will make voting fraud all but guaranteed.  To hear the full report click here.

Fox News published an article titled:  West Virginia AG rips Democrats’ election reform bill as ‘unconstitutional,’ ‘welfare for politicians.’  The article reports in part:

The massive election reform measure that House Democrats passed this week is “welfare for politicians” and “seeks to undermine voter ID laws,” among other “dangerous and unconstitutional” measures, West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey told “America Reports” on March 5, 2021.

Morrisey recently joined 20 Republican state attorneys general in signing a letter denouncing the “For the People Act” hours before it passed the House Wednesday. The measure aims to expand access to the polls, fight partisan gerrymandering and set up new public funding for congressional races.

MORRISEY SAID:  This is a very dangerous bill, and at its core, this is a major power grab by Congress and by Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi. If you look at the Constitution, the Constitution lays out how elections are going to be set forth. There’s obviously some role for the federal government in a number of the elections. There’s a primary role for the state government. This bill is trying to wipe out a significant amount of the state’s role in managing elections. What is that going to do? Number one, it’s going to undermine voter ID, which I think is critical, and it helps to reduce fraud. It’s in place in 35 states…

Number two, it’s actually going to limit the state’s ability to take inactive voters off the rolls once again, to provide more confidence to the American public that people who shouldn’t be voting aren’t actually getting to the polls if they’re ineligible. And it also will chill free speech. This is welfare for politicians. It should not pass the U.S. Senate. If it does, I’m prepared to file a lawsuit to make sure that this unconstitutional legislation is struck down.”

Congressman Thomas Massie wrote a letter to his constituents that states in part “H.R. 1 infringes upon free speech, would establish a federal takeover of the election process, and would force taxpayers to fund political campaigns.  It now awaits action in the Senate.”
