Eugene Ionesco was a Romanian-French playwright and dramatist who is best known for his absurdist plays. Born in 1909 in Slatina, Romania, he moved to France in the 1930s to pursue a career in literature. Ionesco’s works were heavily influenced by his experiences growing up in Romania and his observations of the rise of totalitarianism in Europe. His most famous play, Rhinoceros, is a scathing critique of conformity and the dangers of groupthink. Ionesco’s work has had a lasting impact on theater and literature, and he is widely regarded as one of the most important playwrights of the 20th century.
Rhinoceros is not only a timeless play, it is a brilliant depiction of the nature of totalitarianism and how it cycles through the human soul.

I know there are people (and institutions/companies) out there that want to be part of the way the arts can and will be instrumental against totalitarian creep.
Radio Orchid is my newly blossoming production company and this is its second ambitious project. The first was filmed in NYC in March of 2021.
I am a graduate of NYU, Tisch School of the Arts with a concentration in Experimental and Classical Theater. I’m also the daughter of a Hungarian/Romanian mother.
