Department of Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said Wednesday that she supports efforts from the Biden administration to require the U.S. military to implement an all-electric vehicle fleet by 2030, telling lawmakers that she believes “we can get there.”

Granholm’s remarks came during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing following questions from Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, who asked the Biden administration official whether she supports the military’s adoption of an “EV fleet by 2030.”

One of the most absurd of many absurd ideas/policies of the Obama 3/Beijing Joe Biden regime is a push for electric combat ground vehicles used by Army and Marine Corps ground maneuver units.
” In the middle of a recruiting crisis, top Defense Department brass are concerned more with the carbon footprint of the military than actual military readiness.”
Even if the plan is to go hybrid with a mix of fossil fueled and electric engines the concept is ridiculous when one thinks about the battlefield. Tanks, armored personnel carriers, tactical mobility vehicles, mines resistant vehicles, cargo vehicles of today are either multi-fuel, gas or diesel powered and are refueled on the battlefield by logistics trains tankers which follow on behind them. Where will the electric charging stations be located on the battlefield?
Another ridiculous concept in the name of fighting “climate change” which would be super expensive; will not work and would definitely not be possible by 2030.

The notion dates back to 2021 when Kathleen Hicks, Biden’s Deputy Defense Secretary, mentioned that switching the military from gas-powered to electric would help fight climate change. Hicks, at the time, was mostly referring to vehicles used on base that weren’t necessarily for combat.
