Who was Jawad al-Tawil the senior commander of ‘Radwan Forces’ ELIMINATED by the IDF today?

While Hezbollah sat in their bunker trying to think of a way to get revenge on Israel for the killing of Hamas leader al-Aruri, the IDF hits one of their own top men.

Hezbollah has confirmed that one of their top commanders was killed in an IDF strike on a car earlier this morning.

Lebanese sources say the killing of a senior commander in Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force in an apparent Israeli strike is a “painful” blow for the terror group.

Security sources identified him as Jawad al-Tawil, the deputy head of a unit within the Radwan force. They say he and another Hezbollah fighter were killed when their car was hit in a strike on the Lebanese village of Majdal Selm.

Jawad a-Tawil was responsible for yesterday’s shooting at the Miron base.

“This is a very painful strike,” one of the security sources tells Reuters. Another said, “Things will flare up now.”

The commander “had a leading role in managing Hezbollah’s operations in the south,” a security official tells AFP requesting anonymity for security concerns, adding he “was killed in an Israeli raid targeting his car in the south.”

In the Lebanese networks they say that the elimination will cause Hezbollah to step up in escalation and that they will not be able to go over it in silence.

WHO ARE THE “RADWAN FORCES”?

The al-Hajj Radwan Force is a special operation forces unit of Hezbollah. Its main mission is to infiltrate the territory of Israel, with specific attention to Galilee and northern Israel. Hezbollah has trained special forces fighters since the 1990s, which are today part of the Radwan Unit.

A security source called it a “very painful strike” for Hezbollah.

An Israeli strike in southern Lebanon on Monday killed a senior commander in Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force, Reuters reported, citing three security sources.

“This is a very painful strike,” one of the security sources said.

Another security official told AFP that the commander “had a leading role in managing Hezbollah’s operations in the south,” adding that he “was killed in an Israeli raid targeting his car in the south.”

According to unofficial reports from Lebanon, the Radwan commander was named Jawad al-Tawil, and the site of the attack was in Harbat Salem.

The Iranian terror proxy has lost over 130 fighters since the Hamas massacre of Oct. 7. The group has been waging a low-intensity conflict against Israel since the invasion of southwestern Israel.

Earlier on Monday, terrorists in Lebanon fired an anti-tank missile towards the northern Israeli city of Kiryat Shmona.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

In response, the Israeli Air Force conducted a series of strikes against Hezbollah terrorist sites in Lebanese territory.
