Was Iran involved in the Trump assassination plot?

Was Iran involved in the latest attempt to assassinate President Trump?

This is not just a fair question to ask, but a necessary one. But so far, we’ve not heard a word about motive or background from the FBI in either shooting plot against the former president.

We know the Iranians want to kill Trump. They make no bones about their intentions, which they claim are predicated on Trump’s decision to carry out the targeted assassination of Quds Force commander Qassem Suleiman in Baghdad on Jan. 3, 2020.

But do they have the resources to carry out such an attack?

In the days when FBI Director Christopher Wray still reported on Iranian operations inside the United States, he told Congress that FBI field offices were investigating hundreds of Iranian sleeper cells across the country. Yes, hundreds.

Those investigations became public in November 2019, when federal agents unsealed an indictment against Hezbollah operative Ali Kourani, whom they alleged had been operating clandestinely inside the U.S. for more than a decade as part of a much larger Iranian intelligence operation.

I have personal knowledge of some of these clandestine Iranian cells, having worked against them for over five years as an “agent-runner” for the FBI.

I will reveal much more about these Iranian operations, and my work to thwart them, in a new book, The Iran House: Tales of Revolution, Persecution, War, and Intrigue, scheduled for release by Post Hill Press on October 15.

Remember that alleged shooter Ryan Rouf was positioned in a gap in the foliage with a view of the 6th hole of the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida? Iranian regime supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, released a video with computer-generated graphics in January 2022, showing how Iran would assassinate Trump at that course.

The Khamenei video opened with images of Trump at his Mar-a-Lago residence, then switched to animated graphics of him playing golf with Mike Pompeo at the West Palm Beach course — at what looked very much like the 6th hole. And yes, that angle of the computer simulation showed that the Iranian assassins would penetrate that the perimeter fence through that same gap in the foliage.

So far, we have not heard one word from the FBI or the Secret Service that they were investigating overseas linkages to either assassination plot against Trump. No wonder Florida governor Ron DeSantis ordered the Office of the Statewide Prosecutor office to open an investigation, and to provide “full transparency” to the public.

It’s time to take the wraps off these despicable assassination attempts against the former president. Since the feds won’t do it, God bless Governor DeSantis for stepping up to the plate.
