Republicans voted by secret ballot to elect John Thune as the next US Senate Majority Leader. Secret ballots conceal how the senators vote and allow some senators to make deals for chairman and leadership positions. It is very difficult for outsiders, including voters who elected these senators, to have meaningful influence over each senator’s secret ballot leadership vote.
The voters issued a mandate on November 5, 2024 that they are fed up with public policies that allow and perpetuate inflation, high energy costs, illegal immigrants, unnecessary wars, males competing in female sports, gender mutilation of children, the woke agenda and much more.
Senator Thune must strongly stand for and set in legislative motion the values represented by the November 5th voter mandate. To do anything less would be a disappointment of monumental proportions and hurt the gains that were made in 2024 and could be made in 2026.
