Is America Worth Saving?
We are beginning to see the FURY of the Left, as they realize that President Trump means BUSINESS. He is not fooling around. He intends to fulfill as many campaign promises as possible! The question is, will the people participate, be vigilant, and conduct oversight on their Local, State and Federal congressmen, or will they go back to sleep and expect Trump to do it all?
His 47-Point plan will re-structure and overhaul the entire government. Heaven knows we need that. But as of now, his focus is on the 10 points in this plan to destroy the Deep State. But he needs our help, if the plan is to succeed! Our help comes in the form of explanation, education, and oversight. We must pick a topic, become experts, and become buddies with our legislators. We must watch and guide them into making MAGA decisions. So far, with a few exceptions, I like his cabinet picks and I can’t wait until the Corruption is Exposed. Check out: Trump’s POWERFUL 10-point plan to TEAR DOWN the Deep State.
Department of Indoctrination
One of his goals is to get rid of the Department of Indoctrination, oops, Education. I have been after that goal, since I quit teaching in 1989. I watched over the 20+ years how education changed, and our kids became dumber and dumber. Today we are a nation of functional illiterates. It sickens me to see the results in our kids. This is the first time that I believe we can make a difference. We can right the ship, we can turn the tables. We don’t have to go into the iceberg. I hear from so many that we can’t get rid of the DOED. But we can, so let’s take a look at education and what can be done.
President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, a law that provided funding to support equal access to education, in 1965, establishing Title I, which aims to support education of students living in poverty. He lied, as this bill was designed to train, not educate.
Under pressure from the NEA (National Education Association), the Department of Education was created in 1979 by President Jimmy Carter. Until 1979, it existed below the Cabinet level as an office in the Department of the Interior.
The Department of Education Act 1979 created the DOED, using Taxing and Spending Clause, Commerce Clause, and the promote “general Welfare” Congress used as justification.
According to the Education Code, the Federal Education Department doesn’t decide what schools can and cannot teach; that is to be determined by state lawmakers and local school boards. It also doesn’t allocate most of the funding that schools receive, which primarily comes from state and local funding formulas.
State or local education officials develop K-12 curriculum for classroom instruction, that generally includes lessons and materials used in a particular course of study. The development of the K-12 curriculum in public schools varies across the 50 states. At this time America was in the top 10 worldwide.
Today, America is in the top 30.
- 1989 – Shirley McClune, from the McRel think tank notified governors at a conference of the change in education. According to Shirley, individualism became collectivism, education became job training, fact became value. Bush 41 was President and Clinton was the head of the Governor’s Association.
- 1999 – Neil Bush created Ignite Learning Inc, Jeb Bush was Governor of FL and George W Bush was President. The “new” learning focusing on NCLB (No Child Left Behind) was initiated, and grades started to plummet.
- 2010 – Obama decided to “fundamentally transform” America, and his target was Education. He created a Grant called, Race to the Top, and offered grant money to every state that would follow the guidelines of a little-known, untested, unproven project, called Common Core Standards (CCS), to bring America into the Top 3. Charlie Crist was Governor of Florida. Florida got $700 mil, half went to salaries, then supplemental, then kids. Florida SOLD our kids for $65 per student.
The U.S. Department of Education is the agency of the federal government that establishes policy for, administers, and coordinates most federal assistance to education. Curriculum is to be left to the states. Common Core Standards (CCS) violated the Education Code, by dictating this inferior curriculum to all states. (DRS Milgram, Slotsky studies stated kids will be 2 years behind). Common Core focused on SEL, DEI, LGBTQ, not academics. The “new” old whole-word reading system, not phonics, guaranteed kids could not read. Subsequent grants were issued, but each had more strings. States may say they are no longer following CCS, but most like FL just changed the name, from Common Core to ie: Florida Sunshine State Standards. Often texts have European roots and authors, who subliminally insert socialist messages. Civics is now “Social Justice”. American history is “Social Studies”. When we exposed Pearson, they changed their name to “Savvas”. State tests are aligned to Common Core. Who is fooling who?
Homeschooling is very popular. A tax adjustment must be made for parents homeschooling kids. Formal assessments could be a portfolio of work, not a test aligned to CCS. Data shows that homeschooled students are 30% ahead of public school students. Vocational school, with apprentice programs, will motivate students. The focus should be reading, writing, math, science and life skills.
Trump wants to close the DOED, and give Block Grants to the States to administer their own education programs. Block grants are federal funds earmarked for specific state or local programs. A block grant is supported by federal funds, but administered by state or local governments, the thought being local authorities are better-suited to handle local issues. States will do better, as they become more competitive. Opponents of block grants claim that they are a waste of taxpayer dollars, and are often misspent. This is why we must conduct oversight on legislators and the State Department of Education.
I believe that closing the DOED and issuing block grants would be a win-win for all, except the unions. To me, as a former teacher, that is a great thing. The Unions are the root of much Evil. Make no mistake, education is about the money, not the kids. Billions are made each year, as those text book orders start rolling in. Choice is the Answer. Keep your kids out of those indoctrination centers that are masquerading as public schools.
Listen to the show today, with guest author, “Johnny Still Can’t Read, Write or Understand Math and what you can do about it”, professor and speaker, Andrew Bernstein.
“Bernstein tears the genteel cover off the educational system and reveals the truly shocking extent of the destruction that has been wrought by fashionable Leftist educational theories, the con men, quacks and psychopaths who have gained control of American public education over the last few decades,… If you have children in school, this is essential reading. And even if you don’t, but care about the future of society, you must not miss this all-important book.”
I will not comply, Will you? Is America worth saving? What can you do?
