God is Great, America is Good and Democrats are Crazy

We were inspired to write this column after listening to the 2008 song by Billy Currington titled “People Are Crazy.”

God is Great

America was founded as a Judeo-Christian nation.

The term “Judeo-Christian” refers to ideas and values that have common roots in Judaism and Christianity. These include the ideals of loving God, honoring one’s parents, and loving one’s neighbor.

John Adams wrote, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

The Declaration of Independence reads, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights.

Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “Worship has played a fundamental role in all social evolution…In the last analysis all of those terms can be described by one word; and that is ‘Christianity’…Even in time of war those Nations which still hold to the old ideals of Christianity and democracy are carrying on services to humanity.”

D. James Kennedy noted, “The Supreme Court has said that America is a Christian nation. But to make such a statement today causes reporters, newsmen, and many politicians to go ballistic.”

As wrote, “President Trump has established a Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias to eliminate discrimination within the federal government. The President has appointed Attorney General Pam Bondi to head this project. The goal is to ‘immediately halt all forms of anti-Christian targeting and discrimination within the federal government’.”

Time to put our faith, our families and our freedoms first into our leaders at every level.

America is Good

Alexis de Tocqueville wrote, “I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers—and it was not there. . . . . in her fertile fields and boundless forests—and it was not there. . . . .in her rich mines and her vast world commerce—and it was not there. . . . in her democratic Congress and her matchless Constitution—and it was not there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.”

In his book American on Purpose: The Improbable Adventures of an Unlikely Patriot Craig Ferguson wrote, “America truly is the best idea for a country that anyone has ever come up with so far. Not only because we value democracy and the rights of the individual, but because we are always our own most effective voice of descent….We must never mistake disagreement between Americans on political or moral issues to be an indication of their level of patriotism. If you don’t like what I say or don’t agree with where I stand on certain issues, then good. I’m glad we’re in America, and don’t have to oppress each other over it. We’re not just a nation, we’re not an ethnicity. We are a dream of justice that people have had for a thousand years.”

America will be celebrating its 250th birthday on July 4, 2026.

Democrats are Crazy

Mark Twain wrote, “All democrats are insane, but not one of them knows it,”

Robert A. Heinlein wrote, “The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire.”

    Ventura didn’t live up to his quote.

    Here’s a couple of quotes related to the 2nd Amendment which is the best defense against tyranny that we have – both attributed to GEORGE WASHINGTON:

    “The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference they deserve a place of honor with all that is good.”

    “A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.”
