The Big Game is On
This past week, once again, we saw President Donald Trump moving at light speed and on many fronts simultaneously.
For his supporters, it was a treat to watch. For his political enemies, it was Hell.
Tuesday’s ninety-minute tour de force before a Joint Session of Congress (which in subsequent years is called the State of the Union), showed just how far Trump has outclassed his opponents. All they could do was jeer, cackle, frown and sit on their hands, even as the president introduced a gallery of heroes who in normal times – and with normal politicians – would have been greeted with thunderous applause.
Instead, from the Democrats, all you saw and heard was pure hate. I believe it was good for the public to witness this. There is no “bi-partisanship” possible with such people. Sorry to say, perhaps. But it is now obvious to everyone.
Americans are fed up with the decades of lying from their government. They want truth from government. They want accountability from government. And they want good stewardship from government.
Through his actions, Donald Trump has shown in less than two full months in office just how far previous governments had strayed from what should have been the common goals of both parties.
We learned much this past week also on how the president has conducted multiple negotiations simultaneously across three continents. We’ve gotten used to calling it the “Art of the Deal.” But that almost trivializes the president’s accomplishments.
First, as I discussed last week in this space, was the most extraordinary bit of reality show diplomacy EVER with the Zelenskyy White House blow-up.
Americans — and Europeans — learned that Zelenskyy was not ready for peace, and that he apparently thought he could dragoon the United States to fight his war against Russia. That’s not going to happen.
Next, we learned what really happened at the Feb. 18 meeting in Saudi Arabia between Steve Witcoff, Trump’s Special Envoy for Middle East Peace, and the Russian foreign minister. The meeting was billed as part of the Russia-Ukraine negotiation, but as I suspected, that was not the primary topic.
Instead, it was Iran. Trump sent Witcoff to sound out the Russians – and through them, the Iranians – to the possibility of negotiating an end to Iran’s nuclear weapons program. Two weeks later, Lavrov, the Russia foreign minister, went to Iran, and on March 4, Putin’s spokesman announced that Russia had agreed to mediate between the US and Iran.
Now, I don’t believe the Iranians are willing to negotiate an end to their nuclear weapons program, but for Trump, it was important that HE establish that as a fact, that he give it a real shot.
And then, two days after Trump’s address to Congress, his nominee for the top policy job at the Pentagon – noted Iran “dove,” Elbridge Colby – told Senator Tom Cotton during his confirmation hearing that he would prepare military plans to destroy Iran’s nuclear weapons infrastructure should negotiations fail.
That’s a big deal in my book.
And on Friday, after Putin’s military launched two hundred drones and ballistic missiles at Ukraine’s energy infrastructure — attacks that Trump felt Putin had put on pause as a gesture of good will — Trump wheeled around and threatened Russia with massive sanctions on its banking sector and much more.
This is how a real president behaves. It’s not just carrots and sticks. It is a willingness to adapt to rapidly changing events, to tailor his actions to the minute, all while keeping the Big Game goals in sight.
Months ago, I believed this was going to be the Trump negotiating strategy with Zelenskyy and Putin. If Zelenskyy refused to come to the table, Trump would cut off US arms deliveries to Ukraine. And if Russia refused to negotiate, the US would impose real sanctions and deliver additional arms to Ukraine.
That’s pretty much how it’s working out.
And add to that the effort to split apart the Iran-Russia-China-North Korea axis that simply didn’t exist during Trump’s first term, and I believe we are on the way to significant, positive changes in the world order.
Gone is an America willing to bow down to dictators and allies alike, all to preserve the “New World Order” of the Globalists.
How refreshing! Give me more!
I discuss this as well as how the Chinese fit into the Big Picture in this week’s edition of Prophecy Today Weekend. As always, you can listen live at 1 PM on Saturday on 104.9 FM or 550 AM in the Jacksonville, Florida, area, or by using the Jacksonville Way Radio app.
Yours in freedom.
PS: This email is later than usual because I was skiing with my family in Vermont — luckily, not greeted by the anti-Trump Karens who lined the streets of nearby Waitsfield when JD Vance came by to ski with his family last week!
