The Left Delights in Violence
Back in my college days, I was routinely threatened by my left-wing classmates for sharing conservative opinions on Facebook. A week out from my graduation, about two dozen student activists in a private group chat joked and shared memes about coming to find me at the ceremony. I ended up being offered a security escort from campus police. None of the students, though, were disciplined.
Luckily, the leftists never made good on their threats. But I always found it disturbing how much fun they seemed to have in trying to scare me. It was profoundly antisocial.
Now, the left’s blasé attitude toward violence has infected society at all levels. Just take a look at their recent behavior …
THE LEFT DELIGHTS IN VIOLENCE
A self-avowed socialist is accused of hopping the fence to the Pennsylvania governor’s mansion this weekend and attempting to burn down the residence as Gov. Josh Shapiro and his wife and children slept inside. Photos of the aftermath of the fire show just how close Shapiro and his family were to being burned alive.
The alleged arsonist, Cody Balmer, 38, was a supporter of Black Lives Matter, had prior arrests for assault and theft, and was reportedly not taking his prescribed medication to treat schizophrenia.
In 2022, Balmer shared a post on his Facebook page that glorified political violence. It was an image of a cross-stitched embroidery hoop with a molotov cocktail and the phrase, “Be the light you want to see in the world.”
Similar embroidery hoops are available for sale on Etsy for $35-$95 — they have glowing reviews.
“It was so beautiful! I got it for my friend for her birthday. She absolutely loved it!” one reviewer wrote.
“Great advice! Love this so much!!! The stitching is absolutely beautiful too!!! Thank you!” another said.
“It’s gorgeous. Just stunning. And it’s the vibe. I got it for my partner as a gift, because he just radiates THIS energy,” reads one review.
With this attitude being shared so gleefully online, it’s no wonder we’ve seen numerous instances of political violence from the left, from the 2020 BLM riots to the recent spate of attacks on Tesla dealerships and charging stations and doxing of Tesla vehicle owners.
The mainstream media and “experts” on extremist movements routinely place the normalization of political violence on right-wingers. But they ignore, downplay, or laugh off violence when it’s in service of left-wing goals.
CNN reporter Donie O’Sullivan, who is producing a special program on misinformation and extremism, claimed Friday that right-wing extremism is incomparably worse than left-wing extremism.
“I guess what we’re looking at here is obviously, you know, when it comes to extremism in this country, I mean, the issue very much so is on the right, on the far-right, from, you know, from Charlottesville to January 6th,” O’Sullivan said during an interview on CNN. “There isn’t exactly an equivalent on the left in this moment.”
Yet in an interview that aired Sunday, O’Sullivan giggled along with former Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz as she described the alleged assassin of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson as a “morally good man.”
“So you’re going to see women especially that feel like, ‘Oh, my god,’ like, here’s this man who’s a revolutionary, who’s famous, who’s handsome, who’s young, who’s smart, he’s a person that seems there’s, like, this morally good man, which is hard to find,” Lorenz said of women who are attracted to Luigi Mangione.
O’Sullivan and Lorenz also compared support to Mangione to support for Trump, as if doodling hearts in your diary for a vigilante assassin with a rudimentary at best understanding of the health insurance industry is at all analogous to democratically electing a president to enact political change.
Not to mention that as the media gives leftists a platform to cheer on Mangione, they’ve mostly memory-holed the two assassination attempts on Trump. It was reported last week that Ryan Routh, the second attempted assassin who tried to kill Trump on his Florida golf course, tried to purchase a rocket launcher from a contact in Ukraine to take down Trump Force One.
Meanwhile, a 17-year-old Wisconsin resident was recently charged for allegedly killing his parents as part of an assassination plot against Trump. The Wisconsin teen allegedly sought a “weapon of mass destruction” and was egged on to carry out the plan by a Russian-speaking contact with a Ukrainian phone number. The teen intended to flee to Ukraine after successfully killing Trump and hoped the attack would be blamed on Russia, according to authorities.
Most of the news stories about the Wisconsin teen, Nikita Casap, point out that he was a neo-Nazi trying to “save the White race.” But they leave out Casap’s connection to Ukraine, presumably because it could damage their obsession with continued U.S. funding for the war.
And in a fun bonus round, CBS is currently being dunked on for its reporting on an ancient altar used for ritual child sacrifice being found in Guatemala. In the article, CBS quotes an archeologist who laughably claims, “We see how the issue of sacrifice exists in both cultures. It was a practice; it’s not that they were violent, it was their way of connecting with the celestial bodies.”
Riiight. Just like rioters burning down and looting cities in 2020 was “fiery but mostly peaceful” and tossing molotovs at Tesla dealerships is a “very spirited peaceful demonstration.”
Whether it’s ancient savages or Antifa, the left loves cultural relativism because it allows their so-called principles to be more flexible than an inflatable tube man at a car dealership. They cry about supposed violence from their political opponents, but give a wink and a nod to their friends holding the flaming glass bottle.

WHAT ELSE IS ON MY RADAR
The president of El Salvador confirms he is not going to send a citizen of El Salvador back to the United States. The Supreme Court said the Trump administration has to “facilitate” the return of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, a Salvadorian man who was residing in the U.S. illegally and was allegedly a member of MS-13. It’s unclear how exactly the admin is supposed to “facilitate” the “kidnapping,” as Stephen Miller put it, of a national of a foreign country.
The Media Is Officially Obsessed With Young, Hot Conservatives
The media is finally on the outside looking in as young, hot conservatives party their way through New York City and Washington, D.C. Desperate to be invited to the party, mainstream media outlets are writing sneering profiles of the cool kids. The Daily Caller’s Kylie Thomas reports on this new media trend from The Conservateur’s “Make America Hot Again” event, writing, “As much as the left whines about western beauty standards and ‘diet culture,’ even they cannot resist the allure of a room full of attractive, well-dressed 20-somethings.”
We called the University of Kentucky hospital and asked if they would put our hypothetical 15-year-old child through puberty blockers and hormone therapy. They happily offered to make us an appointment, even though state law bans “gender affirming care” for children. Naturally, when I reached out to the university’s press office, they insisted that I shouldn’t believe what their own employees say on the phone.
