PODCAST: Why did Biden delay sharing his Stage 9 prostate cancer diagnosis?

Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones. This diagnosis, announced in May 2025, has brought renewed attention to prostate cancer, particularly its tendency to spread to bone. Biden’s cancer has a Gleason score of 9, indicating a high-grade, aggressive form.
President Trump suggested on Monday that former President Joe Biden had delayed sharing his prostate cancer diagnosis, saying it was part of a pattern of the Biden White House covering up the former president’s decline. President Trump, who initially had been gracious after Biden first announced his diagnosis on Sunday, quickly pivoted on Monday to suggestions that the former president had been less than forthcoming about his health.
“I’m surprised that the public wasn’t notified a long time ago because to get to Stage 9, that’s a long time,” Trump said, when a reporter asked for comment about the diagnosis at an unrelated event at the White House.
