Augustin Blazquez referred to in 2007 by late film critic Roberto Fandiño in Revista Hispano Cubana, No. 27, pages 213-215, Madrid, Spain, as “one of the most representative filmmaker in exile and his documentaries must be valued at the same height as the best of this genre,” Agustin Blazquez was born in Cardenas, Cuba.
He has written over 300 published articles about Cuban issues since 1968. His articles appeared in the Houston Chronicle, The Washington Post, The Washington Times, Washington Inquirer, etc. in the U.S. and abroad. In 1995, his first documentary of the series COVERING CUBA opened at the American Film Institute in the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Since then he has completed over 36 more documentaries.
