Candice Leonard Schwager is a certified attorney ad litem and 16-year Texas attorney, practicing family law, guardianship, probate, special education, and civil rights litigation. After working for top national defense law firms, Candice started a public interest law firm in 2010 in conjunction with founding Attorneys for Special Needs Children, a non-profit legal services organization. Candice mastered special education law while gaining a deeper understanding of disabilities under the mentorship of Texas Education Agency Judge, James Holtz, who served TEA as a hearing officer for 26 years prior to entering private practice. She entered guardianship, representing autistic young adults but soon expanded her focus to include vulnerable disabled adults of all ages.
