U.S. Senate Passes $70 Billion in New Funds for ICE, Border Patrol

WASHINGTON (Reuters) — The U.S. Senate handed President Donald Trump a victory early Friday morning, passing a bill that would provide the Department of Homeland Security with an additional $70 billion for immigration enforcement and sending it to the House of Representatives for final consideration.

The Senate voted 52-47 to approve the legislation, with no support from Democrats and no provision to ban a $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund that could compensate Trump’s political allies for allegations that the government mistreated them. One Republican voted against the bill.

Senate Republican Leader John Thune said the fund was a “settled issue”, citing acting Attorney General Todd Blanche’s congressional testimony that the Department of Justice would not move forward with it, though Democrats have said his word was insufficient. Trump has nominated Blanche to permanently lead the Justice Department.

“I find it very hard to believe that they’re going to submit somebody who sat in front of a committee in the House and made definitive statements about this and then somehow all of a sudden turn around and go back on them,” Thune told reporters. “I don’t think that’s going to happen.”

Extra Money for Deportation Crackdown

Republicans have accused Democrats of “defunding” Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol, despite the agencies having a combined $100 billion in unspent funds that were part of a larger DHS spending package enacted last year by Republicans, who control Congress.

The House is not expected to take up the measure before next week.

Much of Thursday’s long debate over the ICE funding bill was overshadowed by efforts from Democrats, and some Republicans, to insert language unrelated to immigration. Those proposals revolved around prohibiting the use of federal funds and even private donations for building the lavish, 90,000 square-foot ballroom on White House grounds that Trump wants.

Senators also debated provisions making it illegal for federal dollars to be used for the “anti-weaponization” fund. None of those amendments were approved.

The funding provided by the bill would help pay for Trump’s controversial migrant deportation crackdown over the next three years.

Lawmakers began voting on amendments to the immigration bill in a “vote-a-rama” session early on Thursday that culminated in the vote on the underlying measure in the early hours of Friday.

An initial move by Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer to kill the “anti-weaponization” fund, which Democrats call a “slush fund” for Trump’s allies, brought the session to a largely procedural halt for hours after Republican Senator Susan Collins voted for the motion. She was later joined by fellow Republicans Jon Husted and Dan Sullivan.

Schumer’s measure failed in a 50-49 vote but exposed the political turmoil among rank-and-file Senate Republicans. Some of them sought their own amendments to eliminate the fund permanently, five months before the November midterm elections.

Collins, Husted and Sullivan all face competitive races for reelection at a time when Trump’s approval rating is down, even among Republicans.

“Republicans refused to permanently outlaw Trump’s $2 billion slush fund, leaving taxpayers to rely on nothing more than a promise from Donald Trump’s personal fixer,” Schumer said in a statement after the final vote, referring to Blanche.

The fund has already been put on hold by the White House and Justice Department.

But on Wednesday, Trump declined to say whether it had actually been terminated, telling reporters: “I love it. I think it’s so important.”

Republican Senator Thom Tillis, who opposed Schumer’s motion, told reporters he would not support passage of the funding bill without a Republican amendment vote to codify Blanche’s congressional testimony Tillis argued that failing to do so would place a burden on congressional Republicans up for re-election in November who are worried about a voter backlash to the fund.

Opponents Call Trump Fund ‘Immediate and Dire Threat’

Nearly all of the immigration bill’s funding would go to DHS’s ICE and Border Patrol agencies that are carrying out the Trump administration’s vigorous deportations throughout the United States.

Tillis later offered his own amendment to reallocate the controversial Trump fund’s resources to fraud-enforcement operations. It failed in an 84-15 vote, while garnering support from 12 Republicans.

Republican Senator Bill Cassidy, who proposed his own amendment to end the fund, joined Democratic Senator Cory Booker in a friend-of-the-court brief urging U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema to maintain the block on Trump’s fund that she imposed last week.

They argued the fund “presents an immediate and dire threat to our constitutional order and the authority of Congress.”

A number of recent actions by Trump have prompted open criticism from some Republicans, from seeking $1 billion in taxpayer funding for a White House ballroom and security upgrades to his decision to nominate Blanche as attorney general and name political ally Bill Pulte as U.S. intelligence chief.

This Colombian Congressional Advisor Is Standing against the Woke Machine Targeting Children

Liliana Castañeda is a tireless Colombian advocate. She has been seen at numerous public hearings addressing the proposed ban on conversion therapies, the “Trans Law,” specialized justice systems with a “gender perspective,” and the creation of the Ministry of Equality.

Alongside pro-life and pro-family activists Evaristo Gutiérrez and Jonathan Silva, she has championed a legislative bill — first introduced in 2023 — that seeks to ban “gender reassignment” treatments for minors.

Although she has been able to present arguments grounded in neuropsychology (a field in which she holds a master’s degree), over time she has also successfully garnered support from universities, lawyers, physicians, and politicians — such as Senator Lorena Ríos.

At the Congress of the Republic, Castañeda serves as a legislative advisor on issues ranging from opposition to the gender agenda to the legalization of recreational cannabis use and assisted suicide. She is a formidable scourge against wokeism. This was clearly demonstrated during her appearances in the documentary “Colombia: Fábrica de Niños Trans” (Colombia: Factory for Trans Children), a film that exposes a macabre industry.

Here is my interview with Liliana.

What is the current landscape regarding gender transition in children in Colombia, as of the premiere of the documentary “Colombia: Fábrica de Niños Trans?”

Unfortunately, we do not have exact figures. In Colombia, the various clinics that have administered medical “gender affirmation” treatments have not made public any detailed information regarding how many minors have undergone these types of procedures.

However, it did come to light — following a judicial inquiry — that the Valle del Lili Foundation reported having administered these treatments to 80 minors nationwide by the year 2025.

You mentioned your involvement in drafting a legislative bill that calls for a ban on “gender reassignment” treatments for children.

Yes. The first time we formally introduced the bill, I developed the entire scientific rationale behind it. Later, I received support from a physician. For three consecutive years now, we have been fighting to ensure that — at the very least — a first debate takes place, yet it has not been possible; the opposition has been very strong.

What we have managed to achieve is to participate in several public hearings. God allowed me to be one of the first people to speak before the Congress of the Republic regarding mental health aspects of these treatments — specifically focusing on neuroscience and neuropsychology — during my first intervention in 2023.

Also present that day was the pediatrician and endocrinologist Mario Angulo, though he was there to advocate for gender “affirmation” treatments for minors. He is the most prominent figure defending that position. On that occasion, we found ourselves facing off with opposing viewpoints right there in the room.

The documentary “Colombia: Fábrica de Niños Trans” — produced by the Mexican YouTuber Samuel Adrián, in which you appear as one of the interviewees — has sent shockwaves through the Colombian public agenda. What are the most significant allegations or revelations it exposes to the general public?

The documentary revealed how the first gender clinic for minors in Colombia — the Valle del Lili Foundation in Cali — was performing gender transition procedures without informed consent and without comprehensive psychological and psychiatric evaluations.

Furthermore, it exposed the fact that they neither investigated the underlying causes that led various children and adolescents to develop gender dysphoria, nor did they adequately treat the associated disorders and traumas.

At the center of the documentary is Laura, the young woman who was the very first case treated by the clinic in question shortly after it opened in 2017.

Yes. While she was still a minor, she was subjected to cross-sex hormone therapy using testosterone, followed by puberty blockers. Later on, once she turned 18, they even managed to convince her to undergo a double mastectomy.

As time went by, Laura realized that the root cause of her gender dysphoria was linked to the sexual abuse she had suffered when she was just five years old. However, the clinic never addressed that trauma, nor did it focus treatment on helping her heal psychologically and come to terms with her biological sex.

Today, at 23, Laura lives with deep regret over the interventions she underwent, and she suffers every day from the physical and emotional consequences they left her with. One of these is that she will never be able to breastfeed.

For all these reasons — including medical malpractice — she filed a lawsuit against the Fundación Valle del Lili clinic.

What have been the most notable repercussions following the release of the documentary?

Most importantly, this week — in the wake of the documentary’s impact — intense public pressure emerged, leading the Valle del Lili Foundation to completely shut down its gender transition unit for minors and to terminate its affiliation with Dr. Mario Angulo.

We celebrate this outcome with profound joy, alongside the millions of Colombians and Latinos who have joined our cause. It has been a deeply significant moment because, after years of fighting to protect children, we are finally seeing the fruits of our efforts. It marks the first time that a halt has been put to medical practices deemed inappropriate for minors.

And on the other side of things, what kind of pressure are the filmmakers currently facing?

Following the premiere on November 26 of last year, the director, Samuel Adrián, came under pressure not to release the documentary.

Dr. Mario Angulo — who treated Laura and dozens of other minors — felt aggrieved by the publication of statements he had recorded for the documentary. In those statements, he himself admitted that the pharmacological treatments administered by the clinic caused sterility and bone-related issues in minors.

For this reason, he filed a legal complaint against Samuel Adrián. Although his initial appeals were rejected on two separate occasions, a judge issued a sanction against Samuel in a third instance, which included a prison sentence and a fine.

Currently, there is an active arrest warrant for Samuel in Colombia, based on the determination that the doctor’s “reputation” and “good name” were violated.

The reputation of the doctor who was rendering minors infertile?

Yes.

Trump Admin. Ramps Up Immigration Enforcement as Squeamish Republicans Are Left Behind

Despite volatile approval ratings and an on-again-off-again conflict with Iran, President Donald Trump is still working hard to deliver on his promise of restoring safety, security, and sovereignty to the American people by driving out the illegal immigrant population — and steamrolling those who try to stop him.

‘Restoring Integrity to America’s Financial System’

In an executive order issued Tuesday, the president imposed meaningful restrictions on illegal immigrants’ access to banks, cutting off a major incentive for foreigners seeking to violate U.S. immigration law. “America’s financial institutions serve a critical role in safeguarding the American people against financial fraud and abuse,” Trump observed in his executive order, “Restoring Integrity to America’s Financial System.” He continued, “My Administration will not tolerate national security and public safety risks caused by illicit cross-border financial activity, nor will it permit risks to our financial system posed by the extension of credit or financial services to the inadmissible and removable alien population.”

The president demanded that banks and other financial institutions enforce “know-your-customer” policies and verify the identity of clients attempting to open or manage accounts, including by requesting proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residence and work authorization. More than $310 billion has been laundered through U.S. financial institutions, the president noted, including money used for terrorist organizations, drug trafficking rings, and human trafficking operations.

“Banks and other financial institutions should also be attentive to the credit risks posed by the extension of mortgage and auto loans, credit cards, and other consumer credit to the inadmissible and removable alien population,” Trump continued. He pointed out that illegal immigrants face a heightened risk of loss of wages, either when they are arrested and deported by the federal government or when their employer decides to comply with federal immigration law and not hire illegal immigrants. “Lending to aliens without legal work authorization or who face a substantial loss-of-wage risk creates a structural ‘ability to repay’ deficiency that undermines the safety and soundness of the national banking system,” the president wrote. “Additionally, employers who violate immigration law may underreport wages, use mismatched or invalid Social Security numbers and taxpayer identification numbers, or fail to properly withhold or remit payroll taxes,” he added. “Such schemes can create vulnerabilities within our financial system by obscuring income sources, distorting credit underwriting, and facilitating underground economic activity.”

The executive order instructs Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to analyze measures already in place to prevent illegal immigrants from opening and operating bank accounts and identify weaknesses in current regulations, adjusting the Bank Secrecy Act as necessary “to strengthen risk-based customer due diligence requirements for covered financial institutions.” The order will also require the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) to advise credit institutions that “potential deportation and loss of wages are factors that could adversely affect a non-work authorized borrower’s ability to repay an extension of credit under the ‘ability-to-repay’ standards” of 12 CFR Part 1026, commonly known as Regulation Z, which is aimed at protecting consumers in consumer credit transactions by barring abusive practices and standardizing how costs are disclosed.

George Fishman, senior legal fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies and a former lawyer for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), noted that Trump’s executive order aims to correct more than two decades of the Treasury Department’s failure to block illegal immigrants from using U.S. financial institutions and prolonging their illicit stays in the country. While the 2001 Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT) Act ordered the Treasury to “require financial institutions to implement … reasonable procedures for … verifying the identity of any person seeking to open” a bank account in order to “provide the United States government with new tools to combat the financing of terrorism and other financial crimes.”

“But the regulations that the Treasury actually wrote turned Congress’s intent on its head,” Fishman observed. Notably, the Treasury Department recommended that financial institutions accept Mexican consular registration cards, used by Mexican nationals as a form of identification, instead of requiring proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residence or work authorization. “Why?” Fishman asked. The Treasury Department said at the time it was trying “to find a balance between the need for strong regulation that provides a real benefit to those working to achieve national security and law enforcement objectives and the ability of financial institutions to serve non-U.S. persons,” worrying that “efforts to deter money laundering and disrupt terrorist financing … might have a negative impact on … encourage[ing] … non-U.S. persons living and working in the United States [read: illegal aliens] to use mainstream financial services.”

“I am sorry that ‘efforts to deter money laundering and disrupt terrorist financing’ might have interfered with encouraging illegal aliens to use our banking system!” Fishman wrote. “These were not words written by President Obama’s Treasury — they were written by the Treasury of President George W. Bush, on whose watch the 9/11 terrorist attacks had occurred not long before,” he added. “June 9 will be the 23rd anniversary of the effective date of Treasury’s permissive regulations. President Trump has given us hope that those regulations will not see another one.”

Toe the Immigration Hardline

Immigration was a core Trump campaign issue in 2024, and the president has not favored Republicans who refuse to support his immigration agenda. Notably, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) was defeated in a contentious, high-profile primary challenge earlier this week, after Trump called for the congressman to be ousted. Last year, Massie was the only Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives to oppose the One Big Beautiful Bill, which provided funding for DHS components, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and critical border security provisions. Trump responded by labeling Massie “just another GRANDSTANDER, who’s too much trouble, and not worth the fight,” and succeeded in ending his congressional career.

According to Numbers USA, Massie has only voted in favor of immigration restriction and border security provisions 57% of the time over the course of his nearly-15 years in Congress, earning a “C+” rating, one of the lowest among Republicans. More than 200 Republican legislators earned a higher score than Massie on immigration reduction and border security.

Massie wasn’t the only Republican ousted for refusing to cooperate with the president on immigration. In Alabama’s Lee County, 30-year Sheriff Jay Jones (R) was voted out of office, to be succeeded by Cameron Hunt (R), a former sheriff’s deputy. Jones had publicly refused to cooperate with ICE in immigration enforcement, a point which Hunt brought up in campaigning against his former boss. “Let me be clear. This is a failure of leadership,” Hunt said of Jones’s refusal to participate in the 287(g) program, which allows ICE to deputize local law enforcement authorities to assist in immigration enforcement. “Had that program been in place here, there is a very real possibility this violent offender would have already been off the streets,” Hunt continued, referring to an incident in which a sheriff’s deputy was shot while attempting to arrest a Guatemalan national wanted for first-degree rape. “Lee County is one of the fastest-growing counties in Alabama. Growth without a proactive public safety strategy is a risk we cannot afford.” Lee County’s voters clearly agreed. Hunt has pledged to sign onto the 287(g) program.

Congresswoman Takes on Foreign-Born Congressmen

While not a member of Trump’s administration, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) introduced a proposal Wednesday to amend the Constitution to bar those born in foreign countries from serving in Congress, the federal judiciary, or as Senate-confirmed officers in the executive branch. “If you hold power in the American government, you should be a natural born American citizen,” Mace said in a statement. “This is not complicated. The people writing America’s laws, confirming America’s judges, and representing America on the world stage should have one loyalty: America. Not Somalia. Not any other country,” she continued. “For too long we have allowed foreign born members to hold seats in this government while making clear their loyalty is not here. We see it every day. This amendment puts an end to it.”

In a separate social media post touting the proposed amendment, Mace noted that the president and vice president are already constitutionally required to be born in the U.S. to hold office. She also pointed out that some of the most left-wing members of Congress — namely Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), and Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.) — were all “born in foreign countries, none were citizens by birth. All sitting in the United States Congress. All making clear every single day their loyalty is not to America.”

Of the 26 U.S. House representatives and six senators born in foreign countries, 24 are Democrats, while 19 were born outside the U.S. not to American citizens.

Trump’s Border Czar Has a Smart Surprise for Sanctuary Cities Trying to Hide Criminals

Editor’s note: This is an excerpt of an interview with President Donald Trump’s border czar Tom Homan by the Daily Signal’s Senior National Security and Legal Analyst Mehek Cooke.

Mehek Cooke: Well, let’s expand on that, because I look at sanctuary cities today, and the worst offenders—that’s who I really want to get down to.

I’m watching New York Democrats today, and they are moving to limit local cooperation with [Immigration and Customs Enforcement]. They’re moving to restrict you and ban you and ICE officers from even wearing masks, as I’ve seen a massive surge in the type of violence that’s coming out against ICE officers.

What can we do to ensure that ICE can do their jobs?

As we’re having Democrats in New York, even Boston … I mean, you talked about lawsuits. I’m seeing a lawsuit there where a judge is skeptical of authority. This clash between federal enforcement and local. How can we make sure that we can prevent a Minnesota?

Because that’s where we don’t need to be, but I’m telling you, we’re watching this. Democrats are trying to corner this administration to make another flashpoint and an issue in the next sanctuary city.

So, what can we do to reduce that?

Tom Homan: A couple things. First of all, you know, good luck with the law of banning masks. Federal law always trumps state and local law. And while threats are up over 8,000%, masks is a non-starter, so good luck enforcing that.

Second thing is, you talk about New York. You know, I met with Governor Hochul a couple months ago, and I told her about what happened in Minnesota, that, you know, we were able to draw some resources out of Minnesota because the local jails cooperated with us.

And I told her the same thing, because I knew this legislation was coming. I said, Look, you end cooperation in the jails, we’re going to have to send more agents to do the job, because now rather than one agent arresting one bad guy in the jail, which is safer for the agent, safer for the alien, safer for the community, of course, you’re going to release him. Now we got to send a whole team, six or seven agents, to go find him. So, it’s going to result more agents in the community.

Totally briefed on the whole thing, but she decided to go ahead and do it anyways. Well, I made a statement that we’re going to send more agents to New York. We have to as a response to this to go arrest those public safety threats.

I also told her there’s going to be two things you [she] may not like.

No. 1, in addition to more agents in your communities, that’s going to mean, one, that when we find the bad guy, and we usually do, they may be with others, that weren’t a criminal target, but they’re in the country illegally. Well, guess what? We’re going to arrest them, too. We’re not going to turn a blind eye to illegal immigration, which means there’ll be more collateral arrests because of your decision to force us in the community.

And, second of all, part of her legislation prevents ICE from leasing beds, from sheriffs across the state, which we use a lot of those beds.

That means every illegal alien we arrest, we’re simply going to fly out of state to New York or Arizona or Florida, one of those states, because we’re going to detain them. We’re going to arrest them, we’re going to detain them. And so you wanna lock us out of New York jails for detention, then we’ll simply fly them out.

And I explained to her, how does that benefit the people you’re saying you’re trying to protect? How does that protect the immigrant community, moving them away from their family and their attorneys while they go through the immigration proceedings? It doesn’t.

So look, this is just a political spitball and you know, it’s… They’re not going to stop us from doing what we’re doing. We’re just going to have to do more of it now because of those, the legislation that was passed.

Cooke: But what’s the motivation here, Director? What is the true motivation here? Because you worked for the deporter-in-chief. You worked under President Obama.

Is it because we have a different president and his name is Donald J. Trump?

Like, what is the motivation where you’re going, to get so much pushback for common sense? If the truth is, whether it’s Governor Hochul or any other governor in America, their first duty is to protect citizens. Why are you getting so much pushback to remove illegal criminals off of our streets? What’s the real motivation for Democrats?

Homan: Well, you, just said it. They hate Trump more than they care about their communities. They don’t want President Trump to get a win.

Second reason is we’re spoiling their long-term plan. They got a long-term strategy here. Open the border up, release millions of people into the United States to go to sanctuary cities.

But remember, when Biden opened the border, he also overturned the Trump census rule, which illegal aliens would be counted in the next census. So they think, you know, send millions to sanctuary cities, the next census is done, it’s going to result in more seats in the House for the Democrats. They sold this country’s national security out for future political benefit.

Plus they think these millions will be, you know, future Democratic voters. That’s why they’re putting all the roadblocks up, because they’re hoping before we can move too many, another Democratic administration comes in, they award amnesty to millions of people they think are future Democratic voters.

They’re having a fit right now because we’re removing record numbers of people that they don’t want removed, because they, like I said, they’ve got a long-term plan.

So, well, I got a surprise for them. We’re going to keep removing people. We’re going to keep arresting record numbers, because that’s what President Trump was elected for.

And the reason there’s mass deportation operation, because there’s a mass illegal immigration crisis on the border, so the appropriate law enforcement response to that is a mass deportation program, and that’s why we’re doing it. They set the stage. We’re responding to their incompetence the last four years.

Cooke: So, you’re saying there’s a clear choice today for any sanctuary jurisdiction. You either cooperate with ICE or you’re going to put more boots on the ground. Is that accurate?

Homan: Absolutely. And let me say this, because they like to say, sanctuary cities, we’re a welcoming community because we want illegal aliens who are victims and witnesses of a crime to feel safe coming to law enforcement to report those crimes without fear of working with ICE.

That is such a false narrative because we’re not looking to talk to the victim witness of crime. We’re looking to talk to the person you locked in a jail cell. That’s who we want access to.

But at the same time, this, they’re the ones that are pushing the false, narrative about ICE officers separating families, arresting people in churches, arresting people in elementary schools, arresting people in hospitals.

They’re putting fear in immigrant communities.

Mm-hmm.

If they’re honest with them, that ICE has never arrested somebody in a church. We’ve never arrested somebody in an elementary school. We’ve never arrested someone in a hospital.

They won’t say that because there’ll be less fear in the immigrant community, so they’re playing both sides.

They want to say, well, they’re afraid to come report crimes, but the reason they’re afraid is because the false narrative you put up against ICE.

Let’s be clear. If they went to the immigrant community and asked them a simple question, would you rather have ICE operating in the jail? Or would you want ICE in the community?

The community’s going to say the jail every time.

Cooke: Right.

Homan: So, they’re lying to the American people. Sanctuary cities are sanctuaries for criminals, hard stop. It isn’t about protecting victims and witnesses, it’s about protecting criminals, and that’s what you’re doing.

Inside The Case Against The Prosecutor Accused Of Putting Criminal Illegals First

As Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano defended himself before Congress on Thursday, a legal expert told the Daily Caller what to expect next in the Department of Justice’s case against him — and what changes could follow.

Jason Johnson, president of the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF), says he was the first to raise concerns about Descano with the DOJ. Johnson told the Caller he believes the DOJ will find policies or patterns showing Descano offered preferential treatment to illegal aliens over American citizens.

A DOJ statement, paired with a May 6 notice of the investigation, said the department is examining Descano’s plea bargaining, charging decisions and sentencing policies to determine whether non-U.S. citizens were granted preferential treatment.

Johnson said he wrote a letter in December to Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, who signed the notice, outlining accusations against Descano and requesting an investigation.

“I guess they’ve looked at it, and now they’ve decided that there’s enough there for them to investigate,” Johnson said. “They’re taking the exact approach that we asked them to take.”

During his testimony, Descano said his office “does not provide sanctuary or safe harbor to undocumented immigrants,” and that suggesting otherwise promotes a false narrative.

Following the announcement of the investigation, Descano also said that his policies are “fair, legal, and reflect the values of my community.”

“This investigation is the latest example of the Trump administration’s own ‘pattern or practice’ of misusing the Justice Department to launch partisan attacks,” his office later said in a statement, adding that the policies have been in place for more than five years and that the investigation comes a week before Descano is set to speak before Congress. “Our office’s policies are fair, legal, and reflect the values of Fairfax County, and we will not be distracted from our mission of keeping this community safe and holding individuals accountable when they commit crimes.”

Johnson and the Fairfax-based LELDF, which uses litigation and legal advocacy to support law enforcement nationwide, have criticized Descano’s practices since at least the death of Stephanie Minter, a 41-year-old mother allegedly stabbed to death at a county bus stop by a criminal illegal immigrant in February.

Minter’s mother also testified before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement, saying the system had failed her daughter.

“When policies protect people who are known threats, innocent lives are put at risk. When warnings are ignored, families like mine pay the price. This is not just about Stephanie, this is about every mother, every parent, every child, every person who waits at a bus stop, walks home, or goes to work trusting that they’ll be safe,” she testified. “We cannot ignore this; we cannot look away. Compassion should never come at the cost of public safety. Care for one group should not mean danger for another.”

The issue did not end with Minter’s death. By April, the Caller reported that illegal aliens made up 75 percent of suspects arrested for murder in Fairfax County in 2026, some of whom had already accumulated prior arrests and charges.

“It’s almost every week that an illegal immigrant is having their charges dropped or otherwise not having to face justice in Fairfax County,” Johnson said.

The DOJ notice says its investigation will be conducted under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Safe Streets Act and the law enforcement misconduct statute, 34 U.S.C. § 12601.

Title VI prohibits any program receiving federal financial assistance from discriminating on the basis of race, color or national origin. Johnson said the DOJ appears poised to examine whether Descano’s office discriminated against U.S. citizens on the basis of national origin.

The Safe Streets Act is similar, functioning as a “purse strings” statute that bars federal funding for programs that discriminate on the basis of national origin and other protected characteristics.

The law enforcement misconduct statute, 34 U.S.C. § 12601, allows the DOJ to target a “pattern or practice” by law enforcement officials that deprives people of their rights.

To establish a violation of this statute, the DOJ must show more than an isolated incident of preferential treatment. However, Johnson said the department does not need to show that discrimination has taken place, but only that “the policy itself is improper.”

Johnson told the Caller that although such an investigation may take over a year, he believes Dhillon will find a pattern of preferential treatment. He also claimed Descano’s office has “scrubbed” its website of evidence of such policies.

A now-deleted paragraph from Descano’s campaign page said that his policies regarding declining to prosecute certain criminal illegal aliens are “equal justice” because “if two people commit the same crime, but only one’s punishment includes deportation, that’s a perversion of justice and not a reflection of the values of Fairfax County.”

“He’s not really covered it up very well; he’s made it quite obvious what’s going on,” Johnson said, adding that although the DOJ may be searching for discriminatory policies as listed in the notice, it may be able to shift the focus to instead address any concerning practices not previously mentioned.

The DOJ statement notes that similar investigations have led to negotiations and policy changes in the past, though Johnson said they have primarily been used against law enforcement agencies rather than prosecutors’ offices.

The DOJ has used similar pattern-or-practice investigations to pursue reforms in other agencies. In 2023, following an investigation launched after the death of Breonna Taylor, the department found the Louisville Metro Police Department had engaged in conduct violating the Constitution and federal law, leading to a court-enforceable consent decree. In 2012, DOJ similarly found failures at the Juvenile Court of Memphis and Shelby County and later worked with officials on reforms.

Similar remedies could be on the table in Fairfax, depending on the DOJ’s findings.

Descano is not alone. The House Judiciary Committee announced May 7 that the Arlington County Commonwealth’s attorney, Parisa Dehghani-Tafti, would also be investigated for allegedly refusing to cooperate with federal immigration officials and for allegedly prioritizing illegal and criminal aliens over American citizens.

Johnson told the Caller that other prosecutors’ offices in the country are operating under a similar playbook. He said any policy changes negotiated in Fairfax could serve as a deterrent for like-minded district attorneys going forward.

The Fairfax Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office did not respond to the Daily Caller’s request for comment.

If This Were the 1950s…These Arrests Would Terrify the Nation

If this were the 1950s, the two men recently arrested in New York would have made national headlines.

Parents would be calling friends, warning neighbors, whispering about a depravity so dark they’d hesitate to even say its name out loud.

And they wouldn’t be far off.

Because what federal authorities are now confirming is not just another criminal case. It is the exposure of something far more organized, far more calculated, and far more dangerous than most Americans are prepared to face.

Two men. Two arrests. That’s the headline.

But today, it barely registers.

No shock. No alarm. Just another passing story in a country that has seen so much darkness, it no longer recognizes it when it’s staring straight back at us.

Satan is never mentioned.

Even though his fingerprints are all over these crimes.

Aaron Corey, known online as “Baggeth,” and Ryan Catello, who allegedly operated under names like “Stabzone” and “Mors,” now face federal charges tied to the exploitation of minors.

On the surface, it looks like what we’ve seen before. Predators are using the internet to target children.

But that’s not what this is.

According to federal investigators, both men are connected to a network known as “764,” which the FBI describes as a transnational network of nihilistic violent extremists that frequently incorporates Satanic ideology and symbolism.

This group doesn’t just exploit children.

It systematically targets them, grooms them, and pulls them into a pipeline of escalating abuse and violence.

That word matters: Pipeline.

It’s built on chaos, with the aim of tearing down moral boundaries and destroying the lives of America’s future, our children.

For months, I’ve been writing about 764 and its ecosystem. These are not isolated crimes, but part of something much larger, a digital underworld that feeds on vulnerability and thrives on pushing boundaries further each time.

And now, law enforcement is beginning to say the same thing out loud.

If you want to understand where this leads, you don’t have to look far.

We’ve already seen cases tied to these networks where children were manipulated, pressured, and ultimately driven into acts of self-harm and even suicide, all orchestrated from behind screens by people they never met in person.

Not bullying. But control.

And if you think the word “control” is too strong, look at what prosecutors say Aaron Corey was actually doing.

According to court filings, this wasn’t a man who stumbled into something by accident.

Investigators say he was actively searching for ways to find children, including checking places where young girls might be, such as playgrounds.

They say he used online platforms where explicit material involving minors was shared, encouraged, and traded.

And it goes further.

Prosecutors allege he used an artificial intelligence tool to generate sexually abusive scenarios involving children and even attempted to justify those acts in written prompts.

And this network is spreading faster than most people realize.

There is another part of this story that rarely gets told.

These networks don’t exist in isolation. They overlap, evolve, and borrow tactics from one another. Groups like 764 have been linked in reporting and research to broader extremist ecosystems that share a common goal, to break down moral boundaries and accelerate societal decay.

That may sound extreme. But…

Look at the evidence.

This is exactly why I wrote When Evil Stops Hiding.

It doesn’t regurgitate the news simply for shock value. It explains it. It connects the dots. It’s a warning no parent wants to read, but every parent needs to understand.

Cases are examined. Groups are named. Patterns are revealed. Methods are exposed.

And the uncomfortable truth is this:

What we’re dealing with is not a series of isolated incidents.

It’s a system.

A system that is learning, adapting, and expanding.

The book draws from court records, federal affidavits, and real investigations, and it arrives at a conclusion these latest arrests only reinforce:

Evil doesn’t hide anymore because it doesn’t have to.

So here we are. Two arrests in New York. And a country barely notices.

That… THAT may be the most alarming part of all.

Because there was a time when something like this would have stopped people in their tracks. It would have sparked outrage, demanded answers, and forced action.

Now, it risks becoming just another headline. Just another story that comes and goes.

But this isn’t going away. Because these arrests don’t show that the system is ending.

They show the system is real.

And if two were caught, the only honest question left is:

How many are still out there, doing the exact same thing tonight?

This Story Doesn’t End Here

What you’ve read here is only the surface.

A glimpse into a network that is far more expansive, far more organized, and far more dangerous than most people realize.

In When Evil Stops Hiding, I go much deeper. Not just into 764, but into the broader system of networks like it, how they operate, how they target children, and how they continue to grow in plain sight.

More importantly, the book lays out what parents can do right now to protect their children, and what our government must do if we are serious about stopping this.

Because understanding this threat is no longer optional.

Overview of America’s #1 Threat: Part 1

A picture is worth a thousand words…

I’m a BIG fan of Lincoln.

One (of several reasons) is that he was an extraordinary wordsmith. His Lyceum Address is not that well known (e.g., compared to the Gettysburg Address), but it speaks to us today. More accurately, it is screaming at us.

Its basic message is that despite America having powerful enemies worldwide, our greatest threat — by far — is from within.

I’ve been trying to explain this to faithful readers — and some may be getting tired of hearing about it. The reason I am forced to regurgitate this is that too few are paying real attention, so little meaningful has been done.

This is like Paul Revere yelling his dire warning, but all the people thinking things like “There’s nothing I can do!” and going back to sleep…

As American citizens, we need to learn from the sacrifices of our forefathers and take meaningful action. Talking about it is a start, but it is not sufficient.

The Big Picture

I have been saying that the K-12 curricula are the most fundamental, most serious, most destructive, most far-reaching problem facing America — but it seems to go in one ear and out the other. Nothing consequential is changing!

Part 1 will be very simple, as I am following the adage that a good picture can be worth a thousand words. Parts 2 &3 will be the words.

Stop just complaining from the sidelines and do SOMETHING MEANINGFUL to help solve what is the single greatest threat to America’s survival.

Get it? [Picture credit: Bob Moran]

School choice (and numerous other legitimate issues with K-12 schools) pale in comparison to this problem. They are akin to rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic — or worse…

The Bottom Line

What is going INTO our children’s heads is atrocious, horrific, sickening, appalling, obscene, diabolical, nauseating, revolting, etc.

This is unacceptable and intolerable.

We need to quickly change from teaching children WHAT to think (per the pix above) to HOW to think. That’s it! Problem solved!

Parts 2 and 3 will spell it out longhand…

EASTER JIHAD: Muslims Slaughter 26 Christians, Churches Burned, Women and Children Kidnapped in Nigeria

26 Christian worshippers slaughtered in Easter Sunday attacks across Nigeria.

Churches burned.

Women and children abducted.

The world stays silent.

Wholesale slaughter. Muslims butchering mon-Muslims. No news. No coverage. It’s expected. Silent affirmation and sanction of Islamic brutality.

Nigeria: The night before Easter Sunday, Muslims storm Christian area in Borno state, set church and homes on fire

Then the next day, jihadis carried out attacks against two churches.

The world continues to stand by in complete indifference to this jihad genocide, which has been going on for years.

“BREAKING: Terrorists Storm Chibok Community In Borno On Night Before Easter Sunday, Burn Church, Homes,” Sahara Reporters, April 5, 2026:

SaharaReporters learnt that the insurgents set a church and several homes ablaze in what residents described as a coordinated attack on the predominantly Christian settlement.

Fresh terror struck Kwapul community in Chibok Local Government Area, Borno State, as suspected insurgents carried out a late-night raid on Saturday that extended into the early hours of Sunday.

SaharaReporters learnt that the insurgents set a church and several homes ablaze in what residents described as a coordinated attack on the predominantly Christian settlement.

Although no lives were reported lost, the assault left families displaced and traumatised, with growing calls for urgent security intervention.

Locals said the “attackers operated for hours without resistance,” underscoring fears that rural populations remain highly vulnerable despite years of counterinsurgency efforts.

The attack comes at a sensitive time, as Christian communities observe the Easter season, a period that has repeatedly been targeted in Nigeria’s conflict-prone regions….

Senior Democrat Senator: “The People We Care About Most, The Undocumented Migrants”

Senator Chris Murphy: “The people we care about most, the undocumented migrants”

They are telling you.

This is why Sheridan Gorman (and so many others) is dead. This is why DHS is shut down right now — the second extended shutdown over illegal immigration in recent months.

Reverend Jordan Wells: Senator Chris Murphy just said the quiet part out loud:

“The people we care about most, the undocumented migrants.”

He admitted Democrats’ 30+ year strategy has been to deliver citizenship for them — not American citizens, not veterans, not working families.

Reverend Jordan Wells: Senator Chris Murphy just said the quiet part out loud:

“The people we care about most, the undocumented migrants.”

He admitted Democrats’ 30+ year strategy has been to deliver citizenship for them — not American citizens, not veterans, not working families.

This is exactly why DHS is shut down right now — the SECOND extended shutdown over illegal immigration in recent months.

Democrats are blocking funding unless they get major restrictions on immigration enforcement. Result?

  • Tens of thousands of TSA workers forced to work without pay (again).
  • Hundreds have already quit.
  • Hours-long security lines at airports, ruining spring break travel for Americans.
  • Essential DHS operations crippled while the standoff drags on.

Priorities revealed: Illegal migrants over the safety, paychecks, and convenience of U.S. citizens and frontline workers.

Senator’s resurfaced comment on who Democrats care about the ‘most’ sparks online outrage: ‘He really said it’

Murphy’s 2024 comment was blasted by Bernie Moreno, Elon Musk and a White House official

By Andrew Mark Miller, Fox News, March 24, 2026:

Undocumented Americans are people we care about the most in U.S., Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy says

Sen. Chris Murphy told MSNBCs Chris Hayes in 2024 that “undocumented Americans” were the people they care about the most.

A resurfaced post by Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy discussing the people Democrats “care about most” is sparking social media outrage from conservatives, making the case it points to their priorities in the current fight on Department of Homeland Security funding.

In the clip, posted on Monday night by the conservative influencer account End Wokeness, MSNBC host Chris Hayes asked Murphy in 2024 about negotiations between Democrats and Republicans happening at the time about a border security bill. Hayes pressed Murphy on why Democrats were pushing to get funding for Ukraine instead of pushing for a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, as the party had done in the past.

“Well, I mean, Chris, that’s been a failed play for 20 years,” Murphy replied. “So you are right that that has been the Democratic strategy for 30 years, maybe, and it has failed to deliver for the people we care about most, the undocumented Americans that are in this country.”

Conservatives quickly picked up on the clip and argued it’s emblematic of why Democrats haven’t been motivated to end the DHS shutdown that they voted for in February in opposition to ICE, even as concerns about national security during the war with Iran linger.

“This has absolutely proven to be true and never more than this week,” Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, posted on X. “Senate Democrats have allowed 260,000 American workers to be used as political pawns so that they could protect criminal aliens that invaded our nation. Sick stuff.”

“Treachery,” Tesla and Space X CEO Elon Musk posted on X.

Why Do ICE-Haters Fiercely Protect Child Predators?

Numerous times, as ICE agents are about to apprehend convicted illegal child predators, ICE-haters spring into aggressive actions, injuring federal agents who are trying to enforce laws intended to safeguard vulnerable children. Why?

Could it be that “protecting illegal aliens” is a great cover story for keeping child predators in proximity to children? Could it be that ICE-haters are child-haters, too? Does that include the politicians, members of the public, and other adults who vehemently oppose deportations and imprisonments of child predators?

Is it just an accident that so very many of illegal aliens convicted of crimes are vigorously protected when their convictions are for sex crimes against children? Is Ghislaine Maxwell just a fluke, or does she represent national and global unchecked crimes against children. For 25 years, Ghislaine aggressively recruited girls, transferred them to Jeffrey Epstein as sex slaves, and sexually victimized children herself before Maxwell was ever charged with crimes against minors.

For 25 years, Maxwell masterminded the world’s largest sex trafficking industry fairly openly without a single investigation or interrogation of her, even after Epstein was convicted of preying upon children and very lightly sentenced to jail, not prison. This story could not be made up!

Childhood sexualization in many, many professional and non-professional circles is commonplace and largely condoned and/or supported and/or practiced.

WATCH: ICE Agent Slams Protester During Child Sex Offender Arrest in Viral Minnesota Video

Especially prevalent and disgusting is the pro-predator “lobby” in legal and judicial circles that put child predation into a revolving door of arrests and returns to the streets, seal court documents, and force reunifications and visitations of predators with their victims, particularly in cases of incest.

  • Saeb Sivixay, of Laos, who has three prior convictions for selling amphetamines as well as convictions for assault and contributing to a minor’s delinquency. His final order of removal was issued in 2009.
  • Ignacio Gonzalez-De La Rosa, in the US illegally from Mexico, who was previously arrested for child cruelty and battery.
  • Miguel Salvador-Reyes a Mexican national arrested previously for cruelty toward a child.

ICE has vowed to see these criminal aliens, some of whom were issued final orders of removal more than two decades ago, deported from the US once and for all….

But ICE-haters who hate children will be waiting to attack the child protectors.

TOXIC NATIONHOOD: Racing to the Bottom

How does a country become a toxic nation?

Its morality is decimated, beginning with poisoning young children against their bodies, families, religious values, and traditional American mores and lifestyles.

Isaiah 5: 20

Gavin Newsom’s wife and her firm pocketed $3.7M from her ‘gender stereotypes’ charity, unearthed IRS filings reveal…days after her sanctimonious rant at the press

By JOSH BOSWELL, CHIEF INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER

Jennifer Siebel Newsom stole the spotlight at her husband’s Planned Parenthood press conference last month when she scolded reporters for not asking enough about the ‘war on women’.

But now, financial filings obtained by the Daily Mail suggest the First Partner of California may have to answer some tough questions of her own.

IRS documents from recent years show Gavin Newsom‘s wife has been paying herself and her company, Girls Club LLC, up to a third of her nonprofit’s entire income each year – pocketing over $3.7 million from 2012 to 2023, the nonprofit’s most recent figures.

Siebel Newsom, 51, runs the Representation Project, a charity that fights against ‘intersectional gender stereotypes’ and ‘harmful gender norms’.

The organization brings in between $1 million and $1.7 million a year in grants and donations, with roughly $300,000 of it going straight to her and her company in recent years, according to financial records.

The most recent IRS filings up to March 2024 show Siebel Newsom, who’s also the beneficiary of a multi-million-dollar trust from her wealthy family, receives a $150,000 annual salary from the Representation Project, and her company took another $150,000 from the charity’s funds.

Her unusually high compensation to her and her company has recently sparked criticism from charity watchdogs – with a Daily Mail analysis showing Siebel Newsom and her nonprofit colleagues earn more than 95% of charities of a similar size.

‘As [Governor Newsom] continues his national rebrand tour, the fact that he and his wife put one third of their “charity” revenues into their own pockets will undoubtedly raise red flags in the eyes of middle class Americans,’ Caitlin Sutherland, executive director of the conservative transparency nonprofit Americans for Public Trust, told the Daily Mail, referencing the $300,000 paid to Siebel Newsom and her firm.

There are around 23,000 charities in the US with revenues between $1 million and $2 million, in the IRS database of nonprofits.

Fewer than 5% of them pay their executives more than the Representation Project, if Siebel Newsom’s salary and pay to her company is included, an analysis by the Daily Mail shows.

The salary for the median executive at a nonprofit that size is just $31,945, according to figures from the IRS database. Siebel Newsom and her company earned almost ten times that.
