UPDATE JUNE 16, 2023: Hundreds of Chinese Spies are ASSAULTING Our Border

In the wake of the arrests of two alleged Chinese operatives who managed a clandestine “police station” in New York City earlier this week, U.S. lawmakers are expressing alarm about the Chinese government’s increased efforts to infiltrate American society on a variety of fronts, due in part to perceived weakness on the part of the Biden administration as well as financial ties between Chinese actors and American companies and officials.

As news spread of the arrests of the two individuals who allegedly worked under the direction of China’s Ministry of Public Security, a new report from the human rights group Safeguard Defenders indicated that there are likely at least six more secret Chinese outposts located across the U.S., including in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Houston as well as Nebraska and Minnesota.

On Tuesday, Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) joined “Washington Watch with Tony Perkins” to discuss the brazen nature of China’s incursion efforts.

“I think it should tell us that they have no limits to what they’re willing to do to further their agenda around the world,” he said. “They don’t respect boundaries and borders and other countries. So they basically had agents operating inside the United States for the purpose of harassing and, in many cases, trying to lure Chinese Americans back to the mainland of China, where they can then obviously do whatever it is they needed to do to punish them for speaking out against China, for having positions. In some cases, by the way, they’re harassing people in the U.S., Chinese Americans, because of what their relatives are doing back inside of China, like we’ve seen with Uyghur Muslims and the like. So it shows you we’ve reached the stage now where they’re not afraid to operate inside of our country in this manner. … I don’t know of any other precedent for it.”

Rubio further argued that the audacious nature China’s spying efforts are largely due to an American culture in decline.

“They watch our newscasts — I want to be frank — [and] watch our society and our culture imploding from within. They see we are a country obsessed with things that aren’t true, like men pretending to be women and all these other things. We have a president who cannot put sentences together coherently, an America that is constantly beating up on itself and talking about how terrible we are. They see a great power in decline, and they think that they are now strong enough that they can challenge us in this way. … [I]t’s a reality … that we’re going to have to do something about.”

As if to illustrate Rubio’s point, it came to light on Tuesday that a number of high-profile Democratic politicians appeared at fundraisers and lavish dinners with one of the accused operatives, “Harry” Lu Jianwang. Photos reveal that in 2022 and 2023, New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) met with Jianwang at multiple events in New York City. Public campaign finance records show that Jianwang donated $4,000 to Adams’s mayoral campaign between 2019 and 2021.

News of additional American financial entanglements with entities directly tied to the Chinese Communist Party came in March, when it was reported that Gotion, a Chinese electric vehicle battery manufacturer, would receive billions of dollars in inducements to build plants in Michigan. Former Michigan congressman Pete Hoekstra joined “Washington Watch” Tuesday to discuss the extent of the American financial incentives that the Chinese company is set to gain in the deal.

“Two battery plants that our governor [and] the legislature is pushing total close to $4 billion in tax incentives, infrastructure, and handouts to two Chinese manufacturers to build battery plants here in the state of Michigan,” explained Hoekstra, who formerly served as U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands. “That’s roughly $400 for every single citizen … in the state of Michigan — meaning a family of five will be investing $2,000 into the Chinese Communist Party.”

As Hoekstra went on to observe, China isn’t the only known human rights abuser that is involved in the deal.

“Gotion is going to put an offer on the table for $10 billion for a number of different projects, including a project to mine lithium in Afghanistan,” he noted. “And this is all orchestrated through the Taliban. So imagine this Michigan taxpayer money going to Gotion, going to the Chinese Communist Party, going to Afghanistan, to mine lithium in a deal arranged by the Taliban. … I’d like to say it’s unbelievable, but it’s happening. … [T]he legislature may put the final touches on it in the coming days.”

Hoekstra also noted that both Democrats and Republicans in the Michigan legislature are responsible for coordinating the deal, which has yet to be fully approved due to grassroots backlash.

“[We need to] really offer support to the local folks,” he emphasized. “But the action item is to call our state legislature, Republicans and Democrats, and to say, ‘Don’t bring this up for a vote as a legislature.’ Pause this project or at least pause it until you can do a deep dive into the connections between the Chinese Communist Party and these so-called ‘economic development’ activities in the state of Michigan.”

Opposing Porn in School Makes You Part of New ‘Uptown Klan,’ SPLC Researcher Says

Do you think parents should have a say in their children’s education, that kids shouldn’t be judged according to the color of their skin, that parents should know if their children say they identify as transgender, or that books with explicit sexual images should be removed from school libraries?

If so, you represent a threat to civil rights tracing back to the “Uptown Klans” of white Southerners trying to maintain segregation after the Supreme Court’s landmark 1954 ruling in Brown v. Board of Education, according to a researcher with the Southern Poverty Law Center writing for the National Urban League.

“State of Black America,” an annual report from the National Urban League released last week, purports to define and combat the threats facing the rights and lives of black Americans. It cites statistics about the rise in hate crimes and a few violent attacks by white supremacists, such as the horrific May 2022 shooting in Buffalo, New York, and then pivots to attack conservative politics. The report warns about “far-right extremists advocating for the erasure of our civil liberties.”

What kind of attacks are black Americans facing when it comes to their “civil liberties?” Restrictions on critical race theory, an “assault on a woman’s right to choose,” “restriction of the ballot box” and a “‘parental rights’ movement rooted in racism,” according to the report.

Citing Ray Bradbury’s 1953 dystopian novel “Fahrenheit 451,” which focuses on book burnings, the executive summary of the National Urban League report warns that “the cautionary tale is becoming a reality.”

“Operating under the guise of ‘parents’ rights,’ extremists are labeling diversity initiatives in education, and culturally competent curriculums, as critical race theory to suppress the teaching of Black history and center whiteness in the classroom,” the report states.

Critical race theory involves analyzing American institutions to find “systemic racism,” and it encourages its proponents to reexamine every aspect of life through a race-based lens that assumes white people are oppressors and black people are oppressed. Although supporters claim critical race theory is merely a legal or graduate theory, many teachers apply this lens in the classroom, infuriating parents of all races.

To compile its report, the National Urban League teamed up with the Southern Poverty Law Center, a far-left legal nonprofit known for its Cayman Island accounts and its branding of mainstream conservative and Christian organizations as “hate groups,” placing them on a map with the Ku Klux Klan. The National Urban League also enlisted the Anti-Defamation League and the University of California, Los Angeles.

Maya Henson Carey, a research analyst at the SPLC, zeroes in on “The Wrongs of the ‘Parental Rights’ Movement” in an essay that forms part of the report.

Carey recalls the aftermath of the 1954 Supreme Court ruling, tying the modern parental rights movement to the “rallying cry for parental rights” at that time, centered in “a massive resistance countermovement that birthed such groups as white Citizens’ Councils or ‘Uptown Klans,’ comprised mostly of middle- to upper-class white Southerners seeking to preserve their segregationist way of life.”

“Today, groups like Moms for Liberty, Parents Defending Education, and Parents Against CRT work diligently with politicians, right-wing celebrities, and extremist groups to spread their messages of hate, lobbying for anti-CRT and anti-LGBTQ legislation and making sweeping changes by influencing school boards to fire superintendents, constrain diverse curricula and ban books,” Carey writes.

She condemns these activists for supporting “oppression” and singles out Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ HB 1557, a law championing parental rights in education that critics condemned as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. Contrary to critics’ framing, the Republican governor’s law does not prohibit the word “gay” but bars classroom instruction — not casual discussion — on “sexual orientation” or “gender identity” with children in third grade or younger.

Carey also condemns “book bans,” citing a report from PEN America claiming that schools across the country banned 1,145 unique book titles by 874 different authors during the 2021-2022 school year. The PEN America report notes that the three most targeted books include “Gender Queer: A Memoir” by Maia Kobabe, “All Boys Aren’t Blue” by George M. Johnson, and “Lawn Boy” by Jonathan Evison.

Parents don’t oppose these books due to racism or animus against those who identify as LGBT — they raised concerns about sexually explicit images and passages in these books. “Gender Queer,” for example, contains pictures of sexual acts between a boy and a man. “Lawn Boy” contains long sections in which a boy reminisces about explicit experiences he had at 10 years old. “All Boys Aren’t Blue” contains sexually explicit passages.

Carey doesn’t address or acknowledge parents’ real concerns about these books. Instead, she notes that “most of these books either pertained to characters of color or LGBTQ characters and themes. Similarly, books about race, racism, civil rights, activism, and stories with religious minorities were among the favorites targeted for banning.”

Nor does Carey note that the books aren’t exactly getting thrown on a pyre — parents want the books out of school libraries and classrooms, but these volumes are still easily accessible at public libraries, in bookshops, and with a single click on Amazon.com.

Carey also frames opposition to critical race theory — a political ideology — as a “history-denying” agenda pushed by “reactionary anti-student inclusion groups.”

Laws targeting critical race theory such as Georgia’s HB 1084 (which Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, signed in April 2022) prohibit school systems from using a curriculum promoting “divisive concepts” such as claims that “one race is inherently superior to another race.” Other divisive concepts include “The United States of America is fundamentally racist,” and that “meritocracy or traits such as a hard work ethic are racist or were created by individuals of a particular race to oppress individuals of another race.”

The Georgia law aims to enforce existing civil rights law against discrimination, its sponsor said.

Twisting issues like this to demonize conservatives is nothing new for the SPLC. As I wrote in my book “Making Hate Pay: The Corruption of the Southern Poverty Law Center,” the SPLC now uses the program it launched to monitor the Ku Klux Klan to demonize mainstream conservative and Christian organizations as “hate groups,” putting them on a map with Klan chapters. Carey echoes this strategy in her closing line for the National Urban League report, tying the article back to her point about the “Uptown Klans.”

“Our country, communities, and schools are again under attack by the descendants of hate groups of decades past, spewing the same hateful messages dressed up with fresh political rhetoric,” she writes.

Somehow, objecting to pornographic images in a school library book amounts to “hate.” Balking at the idea of telling little children that America is institutionally racist amounts to donning a Klan hood.

Perhaps this and other reports on the state of black America should focus on the actual issues facing black Americans, rather than twisting the truth to demonize conservatives.

‘One or Two’ Lab Leaks Most Likely Origins for COVID: Senate Report

Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kans.) on Monday released a 301-page report concluding that COVID-19 “most likely” leaked from a lab weeks before China’s official narrative as the result of “one or possibly two” lab accidents. “We won’t be able to prove this in a criminal trial. But I do think there’s enough evidence, if this was a civil case, that we would convince a jury,” said Marshall of the report fittingly titled, “Muddy Waters.”

Conducted over 18 months by former Trump official Dr. Bob Kadlec, Dr. Bob Foster, and GOP staff on the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, the report concluded after studying the lab-leak theory as well as the natural origin theory, “The preponderance of circumstantial evidence supports an unintentional research-related incident.” The full senate report represents the fullest picture the American public has yet received of the evidence pointing in any direction; in earlier assessments from the U.S. intelligence community, only a summary was declassified.

The conditional nature of the lengthy study’s conclusions highlights the remaining uncertainty about the origins of COVID-19. “Every time I pick on China, we should look in the mirror because our own federal government has kept data from us, they wouldn’t show us information. They wouldn’t let us talk to the right people,” said Marshall.

The report didn’t discount the possibility of a natural origin without a fair hearing. It affirmed several data points that made the Hunan Seafood Market at least a plausible origin point. However, “the absence of key epidemiological and genetic data” led them to conclude this was unlikely. “Recent natural zoonotic spillovers of respiratory viruses with pandemic potential have left behind evidence of where and how they occurred,” they noted. Instead, they summarized, “the preponderance of information supports the plausibility of an unintentional research-related incident that likely resulted from failures of biosafety containment during SARS-CoV-2 vaccine-related research.”

The report described the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) as a lab-leak waiting to happen. By 2019, the lab had collected “approximately 20,000 … animal virus samples from across China,” which “underwent initial evaluation in BSL-2 settings … usually by graduate students.” The report added, “Widely accepted biosafety guidelines hold that initial evaluation of SARS-related bat coronaviruses should be conducted in at least BSL-3 laboratories because of the risk of creating infectious aerosols.” BSL-2 laboratories operate with lower safety standards than BSL-3 laboratories.

But WIV’s labs suffered from “neglected maintenance, insufficient operational funds, and a lack of specialized managers and engineers to operate BSL-3 labs,” complained Yuan Zhiming, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CCP) Committee of the Wuhan Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), in May 2019.

Aware of WIV’s safety and maintenance shortcomings, researchers attempted to retroactively address them, all while its biolabs remained fully operational. In 2019 they filed patents for correcting “existing door seals that developed slow leaks over time,” “a manually operated exhaust fan,” HEPA (high efficiency particulate air) filter disinfection, and mending the pressure cooker-like autoclave sterilizers, used for sterilizing equipment, which were “unable to achieve required sterilization temperatures,” had “potential leaks around the autoclave doors,” and accumulated “excessive condensation of autoclaved infectious materials.”

“It is very, very apparent that their biological safety training is minimal,” said Robert Hawley, “who for years oversaw safety programs at the U.S. Army’s maximum-containment lab at Fort Detrick, Md.”

Eventually, the problems at WIV came to the attention of the nation’s leaders. On November 19, 2019, a senior CCP official from Beijing relayed “important oral and written instructions” to WIV senior leadership in a special biosafety and security training session, which was “was followed by a two and a half day remedial biosafety training course for WIV researchers.”

By then, the disease may have already been spreading. The report noted “an increase in adult Influenza-Like-Illness (ILI) accompanied by negative laboratory influenza tests” in the week November 11-17, 2019 from a Wuhan hospital, “approximately 13 weeks before the peak incidence of COVID-19 cases in late January-early February 2020.” According to international data collected in 28 other countries, 13 weeks is “the average time from the introduction of SARS-CoV-2 [the COVID virus] to the maximum incidence of recognized cases.”

Officially, the report acknowledged, China holds that the first COVID-19 outbreak was “no earlier than December 8, 2019.”

However, “eyewitness accounts, media reports, epidemiological modeling and additional academic studies further support October 28 to November 10 as the window of emergence.” Some of the anecdotes come from government sources (emphasis added):

  • “The Deputy Consular Chief [at the U.S. Consulate General in Wuhan] recalled, ‘By mid-October 2019, the dedicated team at the U.S. Consulate General in Wuhan knew that the city had been struck by what was thought to be an unusually vicious flu season. The disease worsened in November.’”
  • “A January 2021 S. Department of State factsheet stated … ‘several researchers inside the WIV became sick in autumn 2019, before the first identified case of the outbreak, with symptoms consistent with both COVID-19 and common seasonal illnesses.’”
  • “Unpublished People’s Republic of China (PRC) Government data identified the first COVID-19 case in mid-November. A veteran South China Morning Post reporter reviewed an official China CDC document that showed a 55-year-old from Hubei province contracted the virus on November 17, 2019.”

Some anecdotes were collected media reports about the situation in Wuhan (emphasis added):

  • “An Australian journalist interviewed a frontline Wuhan doctor who conveyed that he and his colleagues saw a growing number of patients exhibiting fever and respiratory difficulties in early November, 2019. The physicians realized that a coronavirus, likely SARS, was the causative agent by early December.”
  • “Two other media outlets published information from leaked hospital data from pneumonia patients in Wuhan with suspected COVID-19. These reports identified two separate suspected case-clusters in early October and November 2019.”
  • “A Wuhan University biostatistics professor gave an interview in which he discussed his work to compile a nationwide database of COVID-19 cases. According to the epidemiologist, several suspected cases predated the earliest official cases in December, 2019. ‘There were two patient cases in November, with onset on November 14 and November 21, 2019, and five or six cases before December 8, 2019.’”
  • “In August 2021, a veteran Washington Post policy columnist reported that at least one of the WIV researchers became ill in early November, 2019 and exhibited symptoms highly specific to COVID-19, including the loss of smell and ground-glass opacities in his lungs.”

Still other anecdotes measured the crisis with proxy variables (emphasis added):

  • “A June 2020 published Harvard University study found an unusual increase in Wuhan hospital traffic during [autumn 2019].”
  • “Satellite imagery showed a significant increase in vehicles parked at major Wuhan hospitals – an indicator previously established as a proxy for hospital occupancy rates – in this period compared to October and November of 2018.”
  • “Search queries made on the Chinese search engine Baidu for terms like ‘cough’ also increased substantially in October and November, 2019.”

The report contained one more reason to believe that COVID may have been circulating earlier than Chinese authorities admit. “People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Professor Zhou Yusen, Director of the 5th Institute at the Academy of Military Medical Sciences (AMMS), … submitted one of the first COVID-19 vaccine patents on February 24, 2020,” said the report. “Several experts assessed that Zhou likely would have had to start this vaccine development research no later than November 2019 to achieve the February patent submission date.” National Review’s Jim Geraghty called this revelation “the closest thing to a smoking gun” in the report.

The researchers considered other evidence supporting the lab leak hypothesis as well, such as a unique genetic marker in the COVID virus, SARS-Cov-2. “One of the notable genetic findings of SARS-CoV-2 is the presence of an FCS [furin cleavage site]. It is the first SARS-related beta coronavirus found with one,” but WIV had been attempting “to artificially insert genetic sequences for human furin cleavage [HFC] sites to evaluate their pandemic causing potential in SARS-related coronaviruses” since 2018.

In the end, the report settles on “two plausible scenarios” for a lab leak. First, they hypothesized that a “research-related incident occurred sometime before September 2019,” the virus was first isolated in the low-level lab. “This infection, while unlikely to have caused the COVID-19 pandemic, may have spurred the WIV and PRC government to undertake precautionary actions identified by this investigation and others,” they wrote.

Second, they hypothesized a “mid- to late October” spillover from the lab due to malfunctioning equipment, which provoked another round of security responses. A detail from a November 12 internal report suggested “the possibility of more than one research-related incident” when it indicated that “incidents involving ‘high pathogens’ requiring a response from the BSL-4 team had occurred.”

In any event, the report suggested that the poor quality of the WIV labs contributed to make any lab leak worse. “The identified underlying biosafety issues increased the likelihood that such containment failures were not immediately recognized,” they said. “The possibility of unrecognized biocontainment breaches combined with SARS-CoV-2’s clinical characteristics of asymptomatic and mild clinical illness in the majority of infections, likely confounded early recognition and containment of the initial outbreak.”

If these hypothetical scenarios strike close to the truth, then China has not only covered up the origins of COVID, but indirectly contributed to them through inadequate lab safety. The report repeatedly stated that none of the evidence it collected can definitively prove that the COVID virus came from a Chinese lab. However, they noted, “according to published research, the cause of over 80% of laboratory-acquired infections (LAI) are never conclusively determined.” To date, the 301 pages of research and 1,570 footnotes they published represent the fullest explanation Americans have been able to access.

How to Create the Largest Voter Fraud Operation in History

Dominion Voting Systems may have won a big settlement in its suit against Fox News, but new concerns about election technology have popped up.

But before we leave the subject of vote-counting machines, I must point out that the simultaneous stopping of vote counting in six swing states in the 2020 presidential election with Donald Trump ahead, then with Joe Biden ahead when counting resumed has never been explained.  Until it is, don’t ask me to believe U.S. elections can’t be stolen.  Don’t forget: the guy sitting in the Oval Office is the guy who said he created the largest voter fraud operation in history.  Slip of the tongue, as his defenders say?  You bet.

But on with the show.  There are machines that count votes and there are other election-related technologies that perform other functions and can make our elections less secure.  It’s amazing how the Left has wrapped its tentacles around all of it, but more is being challenged after being brought out into the light.

Concerns are mounting about “Albert Sensors”, installed in most states’ election systems by the Center for Internet Security (CIS) supposedly to detect network intrusions.  But CIS is a left-wing private nonprofit, partnered with DHS, that is a major player in the federal government’s censorship scheme to suppress supposed ‘misinformation’ about the 2020 presidential election, a scheme now fully documented both through the Twitter Files and the Missouri-Louisiana censorship case in federal court.  Unfortunately for CIS, there is no evidence the Albert Sensors have ever detected a single election network intrusion, but they have failed to detect some that did occur, leading some counties to cancel their contracts with CIS.  So what are Albert Sensors really doing?  Critics say the answer is: giving the federal government real-time data about the status of election results so results can be manipulated to get favored candidates installed in office fraudulently.  It is said most elections officials aren’t even aware Albert Sensors are in use, much less what they can be used for.

There is also fresh news about Konnech, the Chinese-tied election administration software vendor suspected of shipping data about U.S. election workers to China.  A recent whistleblower lawsuit makes detailed allegations about such data ending up in China.  Another whistleblower stepped forward this month saying he personally witnessed U.S. election worker data being made available to people in China.  Konnech is apparently making a show of dismissing its Chinese employees, but quietly rehiring them as independent contractors to perform the exact same duties.  The whistleblower says the company told him to tell customers data was not being stored in China, where the Chinese Communist Party has access to it.  Konnech’s CEO Eugene Yu was arrested in October for storing election worker data on Chinese servers in violation of its contract with Los Angeles County, but the charges were dropped for supposed ‘bias’ in the investigation.  The County said it would assemble a more expert team to assess whether charges should be re-brought, but not a peep since.

Election integrity advocates are also concerned about software installed in 36 states that handles election management, election night reporting, and voter registration.  It goes by various names, but it all ultimately traces back to one owner, a company called KowINK.  Critics say the software is not certified and connects to the Internet where it can be hacked.  An audit in New Mexico where the software is used found manipulation in voter rolls and election night reporting.  Backdated entries were found in Hawaii’s voter registration database, suggesting the entries were fabricated.  That apparently happened in North Carolina where there were unexplained entries appearing in current voter rolls that should have been in the publicly available historical copies, but weren’t.

Meanwhile, concerns continue to swirl around tabulators, the electronic voting machines that count votes.  It was recently discovered the federal Election Assistance Commission (EAC) investigated ES&S machines right before the 2020 election for leaving touch-screen voting systems in as many as 19 states vulnerable to the installation of malicious or unapproved software.   The Connecticut Secretary of State wants to replace ten-year-old tabulators that have become unreliable and can no longer be serviced because the company that made them went out of business.

If I wanted to create the largest voter fraud operation in history, I would certainly hand over large chunks of the electoral process to left-wing nonprofits whose actions leave no doubt whose side they’re on, and to the Chinese who are so contemptuous of elections they don’t even have them.

Winning political boycotts requires strategic organizing, not just a loud megaphone

Conservatives have finally started to realize that in the ongoing culture wars, politics must mean much more than simply canvassing for votes. Through fits and starts, right-wing activists are seeking to exert their will over corporations and other powerful “non-political” actors to force them away from routinely and reflexively supporting left-wing causes.

One of the most promising efforts to date has been the conservative boycott of Anheuser-Busch over the company marketing its flagship product, Bud Light, in association with noted transgender-identifying “influencer” Dylan Mulvaney.

The boycott was promoted by conservative activist and Daily Wire host Matt Walsh, who launched a social media discussion proposing a boycott, and soliciting suggestions for which company to target, among several corporations recently involving themselves in the policy fight over transgenderism, before finally settling on Anheuser-Busch.

The popular response from the base to the boycott suggests the target was well chosen. Conservatives began rapidly amplifying the message, spreading memes mocking Bud Light and posting videos of themselves abandoning Bud Light products. As infamous left-wing organizer Saul Alinsky notes, any tactic your side enjoys is a tactic worth repeating.

News reports carried clear evidence that the boycott was creating a noticeable effect on the company’s sales. The company’s CEO issued a non-apology letter, which was correctly rejected by the boycott supporters as utterly meaningless.

But soon the campaign hit a snag. President Donald Trump’s son Don Jr. made a public statement urging the boycott to come to an end, and the National Republican Congressional Committee walked back a proposed anti-Bud Light fundraising campaign. Both the Trump campaign and the NRCC are recipients of major donations from Anheuser-Busch. Now there is dissension in the ranks, and the boycott has not actually achieved a significant political outcome.

To save the boycott, the right needs to take a page from left-wing organizers, who have turned political action such as boycotts into a science.

Step One: Identify Influences on Your Target

Successful political action is about organizing, not merely about grassroots willpower. Before leftist organizers carry out any political action, they will conduct what is called a “power mapping exercise.” Power mapping is essentially developing a large flow chart of all the influences at work on your target.

Who influences Anheuser-Busch? Customers certainly, but also shareholders. Board members, but also financiers, outside companies who provide necessary inputs or handle distribution, employee unions, and local, state, and federal regulators. A host of other entities, along with private concerns like the families and friends of corporate decision-makers. A similarly large cast of characters represents those upon whom the company exerts influence (like the Trumps and NRCC.) All these influences will affect how an organization will respond to political pressure, and the skilled activist has mapped them all out before he undertakes an action. Then as the campaign develops, you know where you can go to escalate pressure upon the target, and where the target is likely to try to exhibit pressure on you.

It is not at all the case that targeting Anheuser-Busch was a mistake because it donates to the GOP, quite the opposite. Influence is always a two-way street, and donating to Republicans signals that the company realizes it needs something from the GOP. Targeting a company that donated 100 percent to left-wing causes would be a waste of time, but you do have to have a plan ready for when it inevitably attempts to use that influence to split your ranks and escape the pressure you’ve put on it.

Step Two: Establish Your Goals

Secondly, leftist organizers always know exactly what their goals are before they undertake an action. Goals should exact a physical, economic, or political cost upon the target, and not be satisfied simply by a statement. But they should also be achievable in the short to medium term. It is important that the target knows immediately what it can do to make the pain stop. Typically, boycotts lose power over time as the base loses interest in the action and as targets adjust themselves to eliminate their pain points. So it is vital that your demands are known upfront so the target can submit at the moment of maximum pressure.

What do boycott organizers want Anheuser-Busch to do? Walsh has said victory is “when they publicly apologize for promoting transgenderism.” In a way, that objective is both too ambitious and not ambitious enough. It’s too ambitious in that it would require a total rhetorical surrender, which would likely subject the company to even more pressure from the left, which is more skilled than the right in establishing pain compliance.

The left will often chart their target’s position on a spectrum from friend, to neutral, to enemy. The goal is never to convert enemies into friends right away. Rather you seek to nudge the target one step. Pushing Bud Light into the neutral column alone would be a huge win. (You can launch a campaign to push it into the leans-friendly column later.)

Yet the Bud Light boycott is not ambitious enough in that it has not sought to extract a real-world cost, especially a cost that builds the right’s own political power. Statements can be easily recanted or simply ignored, so extract real concessions, not just promises.

Step Three: Name a Plausible Demand

A plausible demand might be the firing of the marketing officials responsible for the campaign, a public apology for offending a large segment of its customer base with its unnecessary involvement in contentious politics, and a commitment to donate a significant financial gift to a conservative nonprofit that promotes the importance of women-only sports. This would achieve a political victory (the apology) and harm opponents (woke corporate employees), but it would also build political power by funding an organization to continue to fight against the left’s transgender policies.

These are basic principles, and left-wing organizers, from the most massive international NGO to the tiniest affinity group, know them by heart. The left has developed and refined activism and organizing techniques going all the way back to the earliest labor organizing in the 1800s, through the campaigns of the 1960s and ’70s, all the way to the present day. The left studies the science of political organizing the same way you might study the science of chemistry or physics. There is no shame in taking advantage of techniques just because your opponent developed them first.

In contrast, much of the right continues to believe all that’s needed for successful political action is a loud enough megaphone and sufficient grassroots support. Certainly, these are good to have, but they are the bare minimum. The right needs to take the nuts and bolts of organizing seriously. They need to develop professional organizers and have these organizers train tactics to grassroots activists.

Why did Saudi Arabia conclude a new pact with Iran, its former archenemy?

Why is Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador bragging that millions of Mexicans have entered the United States, most of them illegally? And why is he interfering in U.S. elections by urging his expatriates to vote for Democrats?

Why and how, in just two years, have ad confused and often incoherent Joe Biden and his team created such global chaos?

Let us answer by listing 10 ways by which America lost all deterrence.

1) Joe Biden abruptly pulled all U.S. troops from Afghanistan. He left behind to the Taliban hundreds of Americans and thousands of pro-American Afghans. Biden abandoned billions of dollars in U.S. equipment, the largest air base in central Asia—recently retrofitted at a cost of $300 million—and a $1 billion embassy. Our government called such a debacle a success. The world disagreed and saw only humiliation.

2) The Biden Administration allowed a Chinese high-altitude spy balloon to traverse the continental United States, spying on key American military installations. The Chinese were defiant when caught and offered no apologies. In response, the Pentagon and the administration simply lied about the extent that China had surveilled top-secret sites.

3) In March 2021, at an Anchorage, Alaska mini-summit, Chinese diplomats unleashed a relentless barrage at their stunned and mostly silent American counterparts. They lectured the timid Biden Administration diplomats about American toxicity and hypocrisy. And they have defiantly refused to explain why and how their virology lab birthed the COVID virus that has killed tens of millions worldwide.

4) In June 2021, in response to Russian cyber-attacks against the United States, Biden meekly asked Putin to at least make off-limits certain critical American infrastructure.

5) When asked what he would do if Russia invaded Ukraine, Biden replied that the reaction would depend on whether the Russians conducted a “minor incursion.”

6) Between 2021 and 2022, Joe Biden serially insulted and bragged that he would not meet Muhammad bin Salman, the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia, and one of our oldest and most valuable allies in the Middle East.

7) For much of 2021, the Biden Administration made it known that it was eager and ready to offer concessions to re-enter the dangerous Iran nuclear deal—at a time when Iran has joined China and Russia in a new geostrategic partnership.

8) Almost immediately upon inauguration, the administration moved the United States away from Israel, restored financial aid to radical Palestinians, and both publicly and privately alienated the current Netanyahu government.

9) In serial fashion, Biden stopped all construction on the border wall and opened the border. He made it known that illegal aliens were welcome to enter the United States unlawfully. Some 6-7 million did. He reinstated “catch and release.” And he did nothing about the Mexican cartel importation of fentanyl that has recently killed over 100,000 Americans per year.

10) In the last two years, the Pentagon has embarked on a woke agenda. The army is short by 15,000 in its annual recruitment quota. The defense budget has not kept up with inflation. One of the greatest intelligence leaks in U.S. history just occurred from the Pentagon.

The Pentagon refused to admit culpability and misled the country about Afghanistan and the Chinese spy balloon flight. The current chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff called his Chinese communist counterpart and head of the People’s Liberation Army to advise him that the U.S. military would warn the Chinese if it determined an order from its commander-in-chief Trump was inappropriate.

This list of these self-inflicted disasters could be easily expanded.

But the examples explain well enough why our emboldened enemies do not fear us, our triangulating allies judge us unreliable, and calculating neutrals assume America is in descent and too dangerous to join.

Yet without America, the result is a new Chinese order in which, to quote the historian Thucydides, “the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.”

Education Secretary Cardona Repeatedly Refuses to Define ‘Woman’

Before the House Appropriations Committee on Tuesday, Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) grilled U.S. Education Secretary Miguel Cardona on biological male athletes participating in women’s sports, as Cardona repeatedly and awkwardly refused to offer a definition of the term “woman.”

“Following the civil rights movement of the 1960s, lawmakers established Title IX — rules to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex and federally-funded education programs, making a historic impact on girls and women sports,” Clyde said. Prior to that, he noted, “female athletes only received two percent of college athletic budgets and athletic scholarships for women were quite rare.”

According to Clyde, Title IX “unquestionably transformed women’s sports, ensuring female athletes enjoy the same opportunities as their male counterparts.”

Turning to Cardona, the congressman from Georgia said, “Earlier this month on April the 13th, your department filed a proposed rule, amending Title IX regulations that would unilaterally force schools to allow biological males to participate in women’s athletics,” he said. “This proposed rule would withhold federal assistance from schools across the nation seeking to maintain the integrity and safety of women’s sports.”

Due to the relevance of determining the difference between men and women, Clyde asked: “So can you please tell me or can you please define for me what is a woman?”

“Our focus at the department is to provide equal access to students, including students who are LGBTQ, access free from discrimination,” Cardona responded.

“So what’s the definition of a woman? You haven’t given me that. You haven’t answered my question,” Clyde fired back.

“I think that’s almost secondary to the important role that I have as secretary of education,” Cardona replied.

Clyde explained that his question was “not secondary.” He pressed, “My question is very simple: what does HHS say the definition of a woman is?”

“I lead the Department of Education, and my job is to make sure that all students have access to public education, which includes co-curricular activities,” he said. “And I think you highlighted pretty well the importance of Title IX and giving students equal access, whether it’s scholarship and facilities and participation as well.”

“OK, so you’re not going to answer my question,” Clyde said “Do you believe that a biological male who self-identifies as a woman should be allowed to compete in women’s sports?”

“I believe our focus needs to make sure that all students have access to public education,” he said.

“A yes or no is sufficient,” Clyde retorted.

“I think it’s not answered with a yes or no,” he said. “I think all students should have access to co-curricular activities.”

“I think that is a yes or no question,” Clyde said. “Do you believe that a biological male who self-identifies as a woman should be allowed to compete in women’s sports?”

“I believe all students should have access to all things that public education—” Cardona replied.

“So you’re not going to answer my question: do you believe allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports benefits female athletes?” Clyde interjected.

“I believe it’s important that we take into account the needs of all students when they’re engaging in co-curricular—” he began to say.

“So again you’re not going to answer my question: do you believe allowing biological males to enter women’s private spaces such as bathrooms and locker rooms is safe for female students?” he asked.

Cardona responded: “It’s critically important that we make sure all students feel safe in their school environment… It means that the perspective of all students should be taken into account when decisions are made around facilities.”

A person who can’t, or rather won’t, define what a woman is should have no position in government at any level, from President down to dog catcher. That person shouldn’t even be allowed to graduate from grade school.

Denouncing Critics of Critical Race Theory

In late March 2022, Cardona alleged that conservatives had maliciously “fabricated” the notion that the tenets of Critical Race Theory were being taught to schoolchildren. “It’s my opinion that these are generated to be the boogeymen to create division in our schools,” he explained. “So, to me, those are fabricated to try to detract from the conversation about how our schools are open, how we have more money to support our students. I want the perspectives of people that don’t agree with me. That’s what makes a better school and that’s what makes a better community, when all people feel heard. But, at the end of the day, we’re going to fight for what’s right for our students, and that includes, in this case, making sure that they’re learning about the history of our country and that they see people that look like them in the materials that they’re reading.”

EXPOSÈ: Records Show Funding for EcoHealth/Wuhan Institute Research to Create Coronavirus ‘Mutants’

Washington, D.C. – Judicial Watch announced today it received 552 pages of records from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) which include the initial grant application and annual reports to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) from EcoHealth Alliance, describing the aim of its work with the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China to create mutant viruses “to better predict the capacity of our CoVs [coronaviruses] to infect people.”

Eco Health planned to sequence the spike protein from coronaviruses obtained from bats for the purpose of “creating mutants to identify how significantly each would need to evolve to use ACE2,” which is explained as “the receptor to gain entry to human cells.”

Judicial Watch obtained the records through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request it filed in December 2021 for:

All reports submitted by EcoHealth Alliance to NIH or its sub-agencies related to NIH Grant No. 1R01A|110964 titled “Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence” during the term of the grant.

In the initial “Application for Federal Assistance” submitted on June 5, 2013, by EcoHealth Alliance, a section is titled “Specific Aims,” which notes the intention to create mutant bat viruses and “predict the capacity of our CoVs [coronaviruses] to infect people:”

To understand the risk of zoonotic CoV [coronavirus] emergence, we propose to examine 1) the transmission dynamics of bat-CoVs across the human-wildlife interface; and 2) how this process is affected by CoV evolutionary potential, and how it might force CoV evolution. We will assess the nature and frequency of contact among animals and people in two critical human-animal interfaces: live animal markets in China and people who are highly exposed to bats in rural China.

“Specific Aim 3” discusses “Testing predictions of CoV inter-species transmission:”

We will test our models of host range (i.e. emergence potential) experimentally using reverse genetics, pseudovirus and receptor binding assays, and virus infection experiments in cell culture and humanized mice. With bat-CoVs that we’ve isolated or sequenced, and using live virus or pseudovirus infection in cells of different origin or expressing different receptor molecules, we will assess potential for each isolated virus and those with receptor binding site sequence to spill over. We will do this by sequencing the spike (or other receptor binding/fusion) protein genes from all our bat-CoVs, creating mutants to identify how significantly each would need to evolve to use ACE2, CD26/DPP4 (MERS-CoV receptor) or other potential CoV receptors.

In the continuing discussion of the aims of the research, the report states:

In vitro [outside the body] cell lines & Humanized mouse model: We have developed primary cell lines and transformed cell lines from 9 bat species using kidney, spleen, heart, brain and intestine. We have used these for virus isolation, infection assays and receptor molecule gene cloning. We also have a large number of cell lines from humans and animals that we will use for virus infectivity assays. We have obtained a letter of support from Dr Ralph Baric, who is keen to collaborate with us initially to infect his humanized mouse model with our bat SL-CoV [SARS-Like Coronavirus] that uses ACE2, and subsequently to use other CoVs that we identify …

The results will provide information whether bat-CoVs could use known bat and human ACE2, DPP4 or other known CoV receptors to enter cells, and allow us to determine critical receptor binding sites, viral host range, and to better predict the capacity of our CoVs to infect people. [Emphasis in original]

EcoHealth Alliance’s $3.3 million grant to fund a project titled “Understanding the Risk of Coronavirus Emergence” was initially to run from October 1, 2013, to September 30, 2018. The first “Project/Performance Site Location” is the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Three other Chinese sites follow: East China Normal University in Shanghai, Yunnan Institute of Endemic Disease Control and Prevention in Dali, and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of Guangdong in Guangzhou.

On May 27, 2014, the NIH awarded EcoHealth Alliance $3,086,735 over five years for “Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence.”

An EcoHealth Alliance grant application, received by the NIH on June 5, 2013, includes a list of “Senior/Key Personnel” including Shi Zhengli and Zhang Yun-Zhi of the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV); Peter Daszak, CEO of EcoHealth Alliance; and other Chinese scientists, including Ke Changwen of the Chinese “CDC and Prevention of Guangdong Province.”

A section of the EcoHealth Alliance application titled “EcoHealth Alliance Budget Justification” describes some of the work to be conducted by EcoHealth scientists in China:

A research scientist will be hired at 12 months time per year to provide direct assistance and oversight of field activities in China; maintain equipment and logistics; and coordinate animal and human sample shipment to the labs in China and in the US.

Once we secure IRBs [Institutional Review Boards] for human sampling in Y1 [Year 1], we will hire three medical officers from China provincial CDCs [Centers for Disease Control] as consultants to work in Guangxi, Hunan, and Fujian during Y2-Y5. These medical officers will be responsible for IRB approved human sampling as well as maintaining cold chain for storage and shipping samples.

Dr. Zhengli Shi, Senior Virologist. [Redacted] per year in Y1 -Y5. Dr. Shi will oversee the coronavirus screening for all samples collected in China. She will work with the PI [Principal Investigator], Co-Investigators, and Senior/Key Personnel to analyze data and write manuscripts. She will also coordinate data and material sharing with the co-investigators.

In a budget calculation for the year 2014-15, the Wuhan Institute of Virology as a sub-awardee of the grant was allocated to receive $128,718 in direct costs and $10,297 in indirect costs from NIH. The salaries of Shi Zhengli and a Wuhan Institute of Virology colleague Ge Xingyl are redacted from the budget. Over the five years of the grant, the Wuhan lab was to receive $749,976.

Laboratory Supplies

We request support for in vitro infection experiments using pseudoviruses carrying the spike proteins (wild type or mutants) or live viruses in cell lines of different origins, binding affinity assays between the spike proteins (wild types or mutants) and different cellular receptor molecules, and humanized mouse experiments.

The Year 2 annual report for the bat coronavirus project, budget period June 1, 2016, to May 31, 2017, under “Specific Aim 3,” states:

Testing predictions of CoV inter-species transmission. The following experiments will be undertaken in Year 2:

  • Humanized mice with human ACE2 receptors will be infected with WIV1 and the two rescued chimeric SARS-like coronaviruses to determine the tissue tropism and pathogenicity of bat SL-CoV.
  • Isolation of novel bat coronaviruses. Live virus or pseudovirus will be used to infect cells of different origin or expressing different receptor molecules. Spillover potential for each isolated virus will be assessed.
  • An infectious clone of full-length MERS-CoV [Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus] will be constructed using reverse genetic method. Using the S [spike] sequence of different MERS-related viruses identified from Chinese bats, the chimeric viruses with S gene of bat MERS-related coronaviruses and backbone of the infectious clone of MERS-CoV will be constructed to study the receptor usage and infectivity of bat MERS-related coronaviruses.

Among the “Additional Year 2 items for Specific Aim 3” are:

  • The infectious clone of WIV1 was successfully constructed using reverse genetic methods;
  • Two chimeric bat SARS-like coronavirus strains were constructed by replacing the S [spike] gene in the backbone of WIV1;
  • Permission to import mice with human ACE2 to China was obtained, so as to conduct the experimental infections proposed in our R01 specific aims.

The annual report submitted for Year 3 of the grant project, budget period June 1, 2017, to May 31, 2018, under the heading “Specific Aim 3: Testing predictions of CoV inter-species transmission,” notes:

In Year 3, we successfully isolated Rs4874 from the single [bat] fecal sample. Using the reverse genetic system we previously developed, we constructed two chimeric viruses with the WIV1 backbone replaced with the S [spike] gene of Rs7327 and Rs4231, respectively. Vero E6 cells were respectively infected with Rs4874, WIV1-Rs4231S and WIV1-Rs7327S, and efficient virus replication was detected by immunofluorescence assay in all infections. To assess the usage of human ACE2 by the three novel SL-CoVs, we conducted virus infectivity studies using HeLa cells with or without the expression of human ACE2. All viruses replicated efficiently in the human ACE2-expressing cells.

In the Year 4 annual report, budge period June 1, 2018, to May 31, 2019, submitted to NIH by EcoHealth on September 16, 2020, in answer to the question “How Have the Results Been Disseminated to Communities of Interest,” the report details that Peter Daszak and WIV lab director Shi Zhengli briefed their findings to, among others, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Among the accomplishments listed in the Year 4 report is: “In vivo [experimentation done in a whole organism] infection of SARSr-CoVs with variants of S [spike] protein in human ACE2 (hACE2) expressing mice.”

The report also includes information about the construction of viruses of “varying pathogenicity” and testing them on humanized mice:

Using the reverse genetic methods we previously developed, infectious clones with the WIV1 [bat SARS-like coronavirus] backbone and the spike protein of SHC014, W IV16 and Rs4231, respectively, were constructed and recombinant viruses were successfully rescued. In Year 4, we performed preliminary in vivo infection of SARSr-CoVs on transgenic mice that express hACE2. Mice were infected with 105 pfu of full-length recombinant virus of W IV1 (rWIV1) and the three chimeric viruses with different spikes. Pathogenesis of the 4 SARSr-CoVs was then determined in a 2-week course. Mice challenged with rWIV1-SHC014S have experienced about 20% body weight loss by the 6th day post infection, while rWIV1 and rWIV-4231 S produced less body weight loss. In the mice infected with rWIV1 -WIV16S, no body weight loss was observed (Fig. 35a). 2 and 4 days post infection, the viral load in lung tissues of mice challenged with rWIV1-SHC014S, rWIV1-WIV16S and rWIV1-Rs4231 S reached more than 106 genome copies/g and were significantly higher than that in rWIV1-infected mice (Fig. 35b). These results demonstrate varying pathogenicity of SARSr-CoVs with different spike proteins in humanized mice.

In a revised award dated July 13, 2020, the NIH granted additional funds, including $77,750 to the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, $76,301 to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and $75,600 to the Institute of Pathogen Biology of China.

The 2020 renewal application to extend funding for the Wuhan bat research projects states that EcoHealth would not be working with “select agents” (severe threats), such as SARS-CoV, but rather with a SARSr-CoV molecular clone designated WIV1 which, while a “BSL3” (biosafety level 3) pathogen, was not considered a select agent.

The select agent research was to be conducted at Ralph Baric’s lab at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

A section titled “P3CO Research” notes:

Importantly, we are not proposing to genetically manipulate SARS-CoV over the course of this proposal. [Emphasis in original] However, we are proposing to genetically manipulate the full length bat SARSr-CoV WIV1 strain molecular clone during the course of this proposal, which is not a select agent, has not been shown to cause human infections, and has not been shown to be transmissible between humans.

The same 2020 renewal application states: “This project is a multi-institutional collaboration led by EcoHealth Alliance, New York (Daszak, PI), which will subcontract funds to three institutions: the Wuhan Institute of Virology (Dr. Shi), the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Dr. Baric), and the Institute of Pathogen Biology (Dr. Ren).”

“A review of these and other documents strongly suggest that U.S. funding in China and elsewhere for mutant virus, gain-of-function research may have been responsible for the emergence of the COVID pandemic in Wuhan,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “This gain-of-function scandal should be the subject of criminal investigations.”

Through FOIA, Judicial Watch has uncovered a substantial amount of information about COVID-19 issues:

  • HHS records included emails of then-Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Francis Collins showing a British physicians’ group recommended the use of Ivermectin to prevent and treat COVID-19.
  • Heavily redacted HHS records showed that just two days prior to FDA approval of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine a discussion was held between U.S. and UK health regulators regarding the COVID shot and “anaphylaxis,” with the regulators emphasizing their “mutual confidentiality agreement.”
  • Judicial Watch obtained HHS records regarding data Moderna submitted to the FDA on its mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, which indicated a “statistically significant” number of rats were born with skeletal deformations after their mothers were injected with the vaccine. The documents also revealed Moderna elected not to conduct a number of standard pharmacological studies on the laboratory test animals.
  • Heavily redacted records from the FDA regarding the COVID-19 booster vaccine detailed pressure on COVID booster use and approval.
  • HHS records detailed internal discussions about myocarditis and the COVID vaccine. Other documents detail adverse “events for which a contributory effect of the vaccine could not be excluded.”
  • Judicial Watch uncovered HHS records detailing the extensive media plans for a Biden administration propaganda campaign to push the COVID-19 vaccine.
  • HHS records revealed previously redacted locations of COVID-19 vaccine testing facilities in Shanghai, China. The FDA had claimed the name and location of the testing facilities were protected by the confidential commercial information exemption of the FOIA.
  • NIH records showed an FBI “inquiry” into the NIH’s controversial bat coronavirus grant tied to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The records also show National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) officials were concerned about “gain-of-function” research in China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology in 2016. The Fauci agency was also concerned about EcoHealth Alliance’s lack of compliance with reporting rules and use of gain-of-function research in the NIH-funded research involving bat coronaviruses in Wuhan, China.
  • Texas Public Information Act (PIA) records showed the former director of the Galveston National Laboratory at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), Dr. James W. Le Duc, warned Chinese researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology of potential investigations into the COVID issue by Congress.
  • HHS records regarding biodistribution studies and related data for the COVID-19 vaccines showed how a key component of the vaccines developed by Pfizer/BioNTech, lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), were found outside the injection site, mainly the liver, adrenal glands, spleen and ovaries of test animals, eight to 48 hours after injection.
  • Records obtained from HHS through a FOIA lawsuit related to hydroxychloroquine and COVID-19 revealed that a grant to EcoHealth Alliance was cancelled because of press reports that a portion of the grant was given to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
  • HHS records revealed that from 2014 to 2019, $826,277 was given to the Wuhan Institute of Virology for bat coronavirus research by the NIAID.
  • NIAID records showed that it gave nine China-related grants to EcoHealth Alliance to research coronavirus emergence in bats and was the NIH’s top issuer of grants to the Wuhan lab itself. The records also included an email from the vice director of the Wuhan Lab asking an NIH official for help finding disinfectants for decontamination of airtight suits and indoor surfaces.
  • HHS records included an “urgent for Dr. Fauci ” email chain, citing ties between the Wuhan lab and the taxpayer-funded EcoHealth Alliance. The government emails also reported that the foundation of U.S. billionaire Bill Gates worked closely with the Chinese government to pave the way for Chinese-produced medications to be sold outside China and help “raise China’s voice of governance by placing representatives from China on important international counsels as high level commitment from China.”
  • HHS records included a grant application for research involving the coronavirus that appears to describe “gain-of-function” research involving RNA extractions from bats, experiments on viruses, attempts to develop a chimeric virus and efforts to genetically manipulate the full-length bat SARSr-CoV WIV1 strain molecular clone.
  • HHS records showed the State Department and NIAID knew immediately in January 2020 that China was withholding COVID data, which was hindering risk assessment and response by public health officials.
  • HHS records show that NIH officials tailored confidentiality forms to China’s terms and that the World Health Organization (WHO) conducted an unreleased, “strictly confidential” COVID-19 epidemiological analysis in January 2020.
  • Fauci emails include his approval of a press release supportive of China’s response to the 2019 novel coronavirus.

House Passes Legislation To Block DC’s Anti-Cop Law

The U.S. House passed legislation Wednesday to block the Washington, D.C., City Council’s Comprehensive Policing and Justice Reform Emergency Amendment Act of 2022.

The legislation was first obtained by the Daily Caller in March and focuses on the D.C. crime law, which reduces police power amid rising crime in the district. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) faces a historic staffing shortage and has struggled to recruit new officers.

It passed the House 229-189. Fourteen Democrats voted with Republicans in passing the legislation.

Congress can exercise authority over D.C. local affairs, according to the District Clause of the Constitution (Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17), and Congress reviews all D.C. legislation before it can become law. Congress can change or even overturn D.C. legislation and can impose new laws on the district.

Since Jan. 2020, the MPD has lost more than 1,100 officers and is currently operating in an officer deficit.

“The House has now taken another pivotal step in the fight to restore law and order in our nation’s capital city. Congress has both the authority and the responsibility to prevent the D.C. Council’s anti-police law from remaining in place, as this misguided bill severely hinders the Metropolitan Police Department’s ongoing effort to recruit and retain officers — exacerbating an already alarming problem as the police force has dwindled to a staggering half-century low under these disparaging policies,” Republican Rep. Andrew Clyde of Georgia told the Caller after the legislation passed.

“The Council’s legislation also significantly limits MPD officers from effectively doing their jobs, jeopardizing Americans’ safety in our crime-ridden capital. I thank my colleagues for passing my life-saving, pro-police resolution with bipartisan support, and I now call on both the Senate and the White House to put people over politics by joining our effort to improve public safety in our nation’s capital city.”

The Comprehensive Policing and Justice Reform Emergency Amendment Act of 2022 would: 

  • Prohibit the Review of BWC Recordings by Investigating Officers
  • Require the Immediate Release of Body-Worn Camera Footage and Names of Officers in Serious Use of Force Matters
  • Remove All Police Officers from the Office of Police Complaints Board and the Union Representatives from the Use of Force Review Board
  • Remove a rank-and-file police representative from the Use of Force Review Board and expands the voting members to include anti-police activists
  • Allows for the Disclosure of Disciplinary Records and Creates a Public Discipline Database
  • Eliminates Collective Bargaining Rights of Police Officers
  • Eliminates the Requirement of Bringing Timely Discipline Against D.C. Police Officers
  • Repeals D.C. Code 5-1031, which requires the MPD to commence discipline against D.C. police officers within 90 business days, which will result in abusively long disciplinary investigations that violate the Constitutional rights of D.C. police officers

“This battle is far from over, as the District’s officials continue to fail both residents and visitors on a daily basis. I remain committed to returning our nation’s capital city back to the American people and restoring Congress’ full exclusive legislative authority over Washington, as our wise Founders intended in Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17 of the Constitution,” Clyde added.

The U.S. Senate passed a resolution of disapproval to block the Washington, D.C., City Council’s Revised Criminal Code Act of 2022, which would lower penalties for a number of violent criminal offenses. The Caller first broke the news of the legislation on Feb. 2. The vote was 81-14, with a total of 33 Democrats voting with Republicans to pass the bill.

The D.C. Council approved the Revised Criminal Code Act (RCCA) in Nov. 2022. The RCCA reduces penalties for certain violent criminal offenses, including carjackings, robberies and homicides. Democratic D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser vetoed the bill on Jan. 4, but the council overrode her veto Jan. 17 by a vote of 12-1.

The legislation picked up support from the D.C. Police Union, who said the act’s proposals are dangerous and would lead to more crime in the nation’s capital.

“The introduction of this new House Joint Resolution is necessary to protect public safety in our Nation’s Capital,” D.C. Police Union Chairman Gregg Pemberton said. “This Act is a dangerous law that destroys collective bargaining rights of MPD police officers, eviscerates due process, reduces less-lethal options for law enforcement during a riot, and further contributes to the critical staffing crisis that is plaguing the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) today. This Act is laced with bad policies with real-world consequences that delay justice for families and victims.”

Two Street Riots, One Weekend: The Violent Legacy of Anti-Parent Policies

Hundreds of people blocking streets, looting stores, and destroying property should not be normal occurrences. They are not normal in a peaceful, prosperous society. Alas, they are increasingly normal in America’s large cities. Unusually violent street incidents in Chicago and Los Angeles over the weekend illustrate the nation’s civilizational decline and point to at least one of the (many) causes.

Videos captured early Sunday morning show that a mob approximately 100 strong smashed through a glass door at an Arco gas station in Compton, California and ransacked the place while the overnight clerk hid in the bathroom. The “mob of looters … left a trail of destruction” at multiple stores, according to one local news report, while another said sheriff’s deputies received reports of gunshots in the area. Police arrived too late to stop the mayhem — not to mention being wildly outnumbered — but are reviewing video for possible charges.

The incident was apparently related to illegal street takeovers — at least three occurred Sunday night — connected to illegal street racing. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Sergeant Clarence Williams said the street takeovers occur “just about every weekend.” Local resident Kevin Evans said of the perpetrators, “I don’t think they are Compton residents. We don’t tear up our own city like this.” (That hasn’t always been true.)

Meanwhile in Chicago, hundreds of teens swarmed the city’s downtown area on Saturday night, climbing on buses, smashing car windows, attacking bystanders, and generally creating chaos. Two teens were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds, while a woman said her husband was hospitalized after a crowd smashed their windshield and beat him severely. The under-age crowd attempted to enter Millennium Park, where people under 21 are not allowed without an adult. Assisted by SWAT teams, hundreds of Chicago police attempted to restore order and escort tourists to safety. Police arrested nine adults and six juveniles, a slim fraction of the lawbreakers that night.

Saturday’s violence wasn’t the first time. On Friday, “a similar gathering” of hundreds of teens at 31st Street Beach turned violent when a 14-year-old was shot, and other cars were damaged, including one set on fire. One eyewitness described “kids fighting, chasing each other, some of them got guns.” The incidents also echo last year’s “Teen Takeover,” when, Chicago’s downtown was plunged into “absolute chaos” as mayoral candidate Paul Vallas tweeted. “Juveniles jumping on top of buses, cars, terrorizing residents, tourists & businesses. These mass groups fought CPD [Chicago Police Department] & only minimal arrests were made.” Sadly, Chicago’s routine violence only receives widespread attention when it spills out into affluent neighborhoods.

Multiple eyewitnesses laid at least part of the blame for the Chicago chaos at the feet of parents. “What’s it going to take?” asked one witness. “The community has to step up, parents have to step up, we can’t keep blaming politicians and waiting on them.” Outgoing Mayor Lori Lightfoot made the same point. “Parents and guardians must know where their children are and be responsible for their actions. Instilling the important values of respect for people and property must begin at home.”

Another anonymous Chicago native perhaps said it best, “Where are their parents at? That’s my question.”

That’s a great question. First, it rightly intuits that parents bear a responsibility for their children’s moral formation.

Second, it points toward at least a piece of the solution: parents are absent because they have been shut out of a position of influence in their children’s lives — by design. Education experts believe they know better than parents and therefore can supersede a parent’s authority. “I have a master’s degree,” testified Arizona teacher Alicia Messing. “What do the parents have?” She added, “the purpose of public education is not to teach only what parents want their children to be taught, it is to teach them what society needs them to be taught.”

Left-wing politicians are 110% behind the arrogant absolutism of the Educrats. As former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe accidentally said out loud in the 2021 campaign, “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” Of course, that predictably unpopular narrative — McAuliffe lost his bid to retake the governor’s mansion — has leftists such as White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre or Education Secretary Miguel Cardona searching around for a more sympathetic framing. They much prefer a “parents versus Republican politicians” narrative to the “parents versus teachers” reality.

As a result, more than 5,000 schools now allow — or require! — teachers to hide a child’s gender identity from parents, according to a report by Parents Defending Education. Schools have stocked closets with clothing so that students can cross-dress at school to keep their gender identity secret from their parents. They have continued to stonewall parents, even after parents have sued them, or their children attempted suicide. One Wisconsin teacher posted in her classroom, “If your parents aren’t accepting of your identity, I’m your mom now.”

If parents lack the moral authority to even know when their children attempt suicide, how can they be expected to effectively steer their teens away from street crime?

Both Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and Chicago Public Schools (CPS) — which are also home to some of the nation’s most powerful teachers unions — endorse this radical, new agenda of hiding essential information about a students’ identity from their parents.

It gets worse. After undermining parental influence, many schools are training children up to be left-wing activists. New curricula, some of which has been promoted in mainstream media, not only claims that activism makes children better students and better citizens, but teaches them how to do it. It’s no accident that high school students — or even younger — routinely walk out of class to participate in left-wing protests; their teachers are training and encouraging them to do so. Sure enough, there is evidence — although they try to downplay it — that LAUSD and CPS are encouraging their students in activism. Why, then, are we surprised when youth in Los Angeles and Chicago take over the streets?

Illinois state Senator Robert Peters (D), the senate black caucus chair, explicitly identified the Chicago violence with political activism, “I would look at the behavior of young people as a political act and statement. It’s a mass protest against poverty and segregation.” There’s only one problem: the word for non-governmental actors employing violence in pursuit of a political objective is not “protest”; it’s “terrorism.” For that reason, let’s hope Mr. Peters is incorrect.

“One of God’s great gifts to humanity is restraint. And when those restraints are taken off of a society, horrible things happen,” Dr. Al Mohler said last week on “Washington Watch.” “Frankly, you look at America’s major cities, [and] you don’t see much restraint about anything.” This past weekend made his point.

The left seems to delight in chipping away at our nation’s Judeo-Christian foundation. A recent example occurred when President Biden’s appointee to head NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center was sworn into office.

The standard traditional practice is to swear in on the Holy Bible. But last week, Dr. Makenzie Lystrup chose instead to be sworn in on a book by the late Carl Sagan.

In a tweet of the ceremony, NASA Goddard quoted Sagan: “Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.”

Sagan used to be an anti-creationist. But he died, and I believe he instantly became a creationist, since he was confronted by the Creator.

Sagan was a professor of astronomy at Cornell who celebrated the “Cosmos” but rejected its maker. In John 3:16, the famous Bible verse that declares that God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son, the word for “world” in the Greek is cosmos.

Do oaths before God matter? In a highly secular age, does it surprise us that people who reject the Bible would reject taking an oath on the Bible and saying “So help me God,” referring to a Deity they claim not to believe in?

America’s founders said our rights come from the Creator. Remove belief in the Creator, and we ultimately remove the foundation of those rights. Thomas Jefferson asked, “Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God?”

But today’s secularists wield their chisels and hammers, busily chipping away at our nation’s spiritual foundation.

Judge Darrell White founded the group Retired Judges of America. He commented about this recent story of Lystrup and her oath: “If this new NASA director had been taking the ‘judicial oath’ (28 USC 458) instead, she might still have positioned her palm upon Sagan’s book, but her concluding sentence would have been ‘So help me God.’”

He added, “If you wonder how that can be in light of our Constitution’s Article VI declaring that ‘no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification for holding office or public trust under the United States,’ here’s the profound answer: America’s founding generation—those who fashioned both the Constitution as well as the Judiciary Act of 1789 mandating that oath conclusion (“So help me, God”) regarded the acknowledgment of God as America’s philosophy of government; not a ‘religious test.’”

Four times the Declaration of Independence mentions God. This is our nation’s founding document. It spells out why we exist as a nation.

When the founders declared in the First Amendment that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,” it is widely understood that they were rejecting the idea, at the federal level, of an established denomination.

At the time the founders adopted those words in 1791, many of the 13 states had statewide denominations “by law established.” This was the kind of establishment to be prohibited at the national level.

The last of these statewide, established churches to go was that of Massachusetts, in which the Congregationalist Church was “by law established” until 1833.

But the founders did not view the prohibition of an establishment of religion at the federal level as somehow prohibiting the acknowledgement of God, even in public settings.

Beginning with George Washington and continuing through Joe Biden, all of the presidents have been sworn in on the Holy Bible and have taken the oath, “So help me God.”

Why are oaths taken that way? Because they recognize that we are accountable to God who sees all and who will one day judge us all. In fact, one of the references to God in the Declaration is to call Him “the Supreme Judge of the world”—that is the cosmos.

One of the big breakdowns in our society today is the loss of belief in God who will hold us accountable. But the founders believed He will.

For example, founding father Noah Webster produced his first Dictionary in 1828, which contained many Bible verses to illustrate the meanings of words. He said one aspect of “Religion” includes “a belief in a state of rewards and punishment, and in man’s accountableness to God.”

This is why oaths have meaning. They recognize our accountability to the Almighty.

In his Farewell Address, George Washington said, “Let it simply be asked: Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice?” Take God out of oaths, and they have no real meaning.

In short, when we die, it is God who will hold us all to account, not Carl Sagan. Our tradition of oath-taking was predicated on belief in God.

Yes, I am also worried about capitalism, because WWIII in America is part of a global WWIII. We are facing a very menacing time. I have started this discussion in my previous column—Russia: A Plot of the Century, April 10, 2023, in this e-magazine. Worry about capitalism began decades ago and after a year of Biden’s administration, I wrote a book: Socialist Revolution in America, XLIBRIS, 2021. Living half of my life in Soviet Russia, the policy of the Democrat Party, was very clear to me during the last decades. The Dems Party has been implementing Soviet Socialism in America.

Don’t be surprised that businesses are leaving blue States, they can’t survive there. They know the Dem policy and are leaving to the Republican States. The Democrat Party is in a real war against gas/oil, Biden’s team killed American independence. Open borders, high prices on gas/oil, and following inflation were endangering our economy and national security. Our enemies don’t fear and respect us. Biden’s weakness embolden them and upset our friends. Perhaps, Biden began a global crisis by his weakness and a war against energy—energy is a global commodity. Mandatory policy on EV is making us a totalitarian regime without a choice like Stalinist Soviet Socialism, which I called Soviet fascism.

Watch the global move of currency, leaving the Dollar in the direction of Chinese Yuan with the portrait of Mao Zedong. It was for a reason I have reminded you about Stalin and Mao–Friendship Forever by the old Soviet slogan of the 1950s. Seventy years have passed since. The globe has changed dramatically. Haven’t you noticed how many people in the top echelons of the governments are lying, deceiving, fabricating and defrauding? The level of morality and value system has drastically decreased? But the agenda of socialists/communists has not, their policy-proscription stayed the same and forcefully implemented across the world—war against capitalism. There are different methods, forms, and shapes of that war, we have been witnessing for seventy years.

We have been subjected to so many lies, deceptions, disinformation and fraud by agitators and provocateurs for years that most people are disoriented, demoralized, and puzzled. Who is doing that to us? The answer is America’s Socialist Party through its Socialist Charlatans. They are preaching hate to cover-up the crime they have committed for several decades. They are accusing Trump of all sorts of things to divert your attention from the crime they had committed. They have followed Stalin’s postulate: Never admit crime committed, instead accuse the adversary of that exact crime. The Democrat Party is not Truman’s Party any longer, it was transformed to Socialist Party by the KGB’s Mafia/Army—the Evil Doer.

The host of the Prime Time, Jesse Watters told us in his show April 14, 2023 about the KGB man, Yuri Bezmenov, and his interview in 1985. The KGB man had revealed four stages of subversive activities by the Soviet punitive agencies against America. You can find this interview on Google. I gave you the name of the man and his description of four stages over twenty years ago. But… you weren’t ready for the information and I have been describing it in detail since then, like Bezmenov suggested. All my writings were dedicated to show how the KGB’s Mafia/Army exercises a variety of methods, forms, shapes and tricks in subverting our government, courts, democratic institutions, and businesses, by ideological suppression and brainwashing Americans for seventy years, if not more.

My definition of WWIII gives you the tactics, methods, forms, and tricks of the 20th century war.

WWIII: Recruitment and Drugs, Infiltration and Assassinations. The arsenal of war has dramatically increased due to technological development in the 21st century. It intertwined with criminal activities in the 20th century and subversive actions have quadrupled. We have today Chinese secret police stations in New York City, like we had Russian spies and pro-Russian propaganda in the 20th century. Biden knows his role, he is laughing and dogging at the media and you, while Biden’s Green Energy Plans Pose National Security Risk and Destabilize America.

Let me give you some examples from history.

The Enemies Within

Every day you are watching Biden’s theatrical performances-propaganda. He is lying, deceiving and defrauding you, because he is not talking with you, but reading over a prompter the text written for him by his staff. You know my opinion about Biden’s staff—several KGB’s agents plus Obama’s holdovers. Using Biden’s diminished cognitive ability, they controlled and planned his presidency, practiced pandemic’s manipulations as a political power to create a typical Stalinist Falsehood in America. To divert your attention from them implementing Socialism, they threaten you with different variants of a Chinese virus. Dr. Fauci helps them. I don’t like Dr. Fauci’s friendly relationship with the General-Director of the W.H.O. Tedros Adhanom. In my view the latter is a KGB agent, a messenger and creator of Stalinist Falsehood in America for many years and Dr. Fauci has become a politician under his influence.

In the beginning of the 1970s, Soviet/Russian expansion in the equatorial Gulf of Aden started by initiating a civil war in Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia, and Yemen to bring Socialism into those countries to secure the Russian oil trade to the world. It was a continuation of Stalin’s WWIII in Africa with the same formula and practice: Recruitment, Infiltration, Drugs, and Assassinations. It was the time when Dr. Tedros was recruited, and many other people from Somalia, Kenya, and Yemen have become KGB agents. Knowing the history of Soviet/Russian expansion and its modus operandi could open many dead cases, never resolved in America. I would advise the FBI to check the ‘Squad” and Rep. I’d like to bring to your attention my definition of WWIII once again. In my writing, I dedicated a lot of time to show and describe the process of recruitment and infiltration by the Soviet/Russian Intel. Drugging America had been documented by me showing the Soviet Law of 1955. The policy of Assassinations I demonstrated by describing Stalinism. The Democrats misled and deceived Republican for decades and some Republicans are lost in the vices circle of “Disinformation.” Crime spike is not a coincidence it has a lot of components. But, actually it is a deliberate policy of the Democrats to weaken the economic and political system left to us by our Founding Fathers. Have you noticed that several tech executives have been assassinated lately? The Clinton presidency brought 80-90 killings. Learn about the KGB’s Mafia/Army and pay attention to human killings in the world: Stalinism is the enemy of Humanity!

Only now can I tell you the meaning of “Donbass Devushka,” “Donbass Girl.” Yes, Ukraine finds Chinese parts in Russian weapons, because we Americans are at WWIII. If you know Russia and its Intel, you understand why we are dealing with ‘‘Donbass Girl.” Donbass is the line of the Eastern front. But even more important is that Donbass is a huge area of coal mines, a source of energy. China needs this Coal and Russia provides China with Coal, excavated from Donbass. Perhaps, China pays back with weaponry. The FBI was supposed to know that, but…they didn’t. As I have already reported, we are living in the country at war without the FBI, CIA, and DOJ for the last two years.

Even more, we had the dysfunctional FBI and CIA for the last thirty years, since the Manchurian President Clinton administration. Vladimir Putin and his KGB’s Mafia/Army had free hands all thirty years: neither the FBI, nor CIA have knowledge of Russia, its Intel and Security Apparatus. It is the ignorance of Mr. Wray that prevents us from learning the origins of the Pandemic. Besides, I suspect both agencies are infiltrated by the Russian Intel. Plenty of bad things have happened to our country because of that. A lot of people had been treated unfairly. Read my books/columns or the interview with Yuri Bezmenov in 1985 to grasp the damages and harm the Democrat Party has done to the American Constitutional Republic and people of America…  

You saw that war on Monday April 17, 2023 on House Republican Investigation of the Dem Progressive policy. You saw Law and Disorder, an ideological suppression and brainwashing Americans by the Dems to save their skin. They were fighting for concentration and centralization of power and wealth in the hands of one party. They want to build Socialist America with a one-party system, like Stalinist Soviet Socialism, which I called Soviet fascism, and they are devoted to the task for years. Look at D.A. Alvin Bragg, he reduced to misdemeanors 52% of felonies, pouring thousands of criminals to the streets of New York. By letting criminals run free Bragg committees’ crime against public safety, helping our enemies to destroy New York City.

Do you remember how AG Eric Holder, Democrat, authorized a sell of arms to the drug cartels in Mexico? “During the Fast and Furious investigation, nearly 2,000 firearms were illegally purchased for $1.5 million, according to a DOJ inspector General report. Hundreds of guns were later recovered in the United States and Mexico.” Maybe the Democrat Eric Holder wanted to deal with the Russian drugs cartels, then in 2011? Because there are no Mexican Cartels, those were Russian drug cartels in Mexico. The FBI and CIA still don’t know, there are no Mexican Cartels, those are the Russian Cartels established by Stalin in 1950-1960. Human Trafficking

The term Human Trafficking is an ancient term, but it is very well familiar to Russian people. We’ve heard that the KGB was selling blond girls from Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Bulgaria to the Muslim countries under the Warsaw Pact in Eastern Europe in the 1950s. It was an official, but secret policy of the Soviet/Russian government: they always exploited sex in politics. Seventy years later it was brought by the same Russians to Mexico. The irony of the time is putting together Stalin’s policy of creating Russian Cartels in Mexico and the birth of the policy Human Trafficking in the place. Those are facts, not only my opinion. And… There is another irony of time: what Stalin did with the Spanish Children, Biden is doing with the children of the globe, following the policy of Stalinist Soviet Socialism. Yesterday, TX PD rescued 7 minors from sex Cartel trafficking. Knowledge of Russia and its Intel is imperative to expose the enemy of Humanity. Think, who are the LGBT individuals and their role in our society???

I don’t trust the Biden government and the recent massive Pentagon High Classified Docs leak is very suspicious to me: Russia likes to fish in murky waters. The expert said: Russia has benefited from the leaks, Ukraine has been losing from leaks. If you want to know Biden’s game in Ukraine, spreading fear, read two of my columns on February 28, and April 4, 2022. As I have repeated many times, I don’t trust Biden’s staff under Susan Rice, which is managing his presidency. Biden’s team gives Vladimir Putin the opportunity to mock America before the world with stupid and absurd actions he fostered—a typical behavior of the KGB.
