Frittering Away Our Grandchildren’s Future?

Ronald Reagan once observed,

“Government is like a baby. An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other.”

I thought of that quote when I read some of the details of the $1.9 trillion stimulus bill that is touted as “COVID relief.” Critics, like Congressman Steve Scalise (R-Louisiana), say that it’s a “liberal wish list.”

Scalise is not alone. Many Republican members of the House oppose the bill, observing,

“Democrats have been hoping the public’s attention has been occupied watching a made for TV show trial of the former president in the Senate, because they’ve been trying to quietly load up a $1.9 trillion budget reconciliation bill with special interest pork and other liberal goodies.”

The bill proposes a $1400 stimulus check for those who make under $75,000. But the Heritage Foundation observes that there’s a big price tag for that $1400: “It adds over $14,000 per household to the national debt.”

Furthermore, the New York Post observes that less than 1 percent of the total proposed for spending deals directly with COVID per se, such as the distribution of vaccines.

What does this proposed spending include?

  • Payouts for abortion, including the opportunity for Planned Parenthood to get more funding from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)—funds that are supposed to help small businesses stay afloat during the pandemic.
  • Illegal immigrants can receive some of this stimulus money through family members.
  • Schools that remain closed can also receive these funds. This “Unconscionably gives labor unions—including those teachers unions fighting against school reopening—access to PPP funding worth up to $10 million per union,” say House Republican opponents of the legislation.
  • The bill gives $350 billion in subsidies to failed state and local governments that have shut down small businesses. It seems that the wrong people are getting rewarded, and the innocent victims of COVID, including small businesses, are getting penalized.

And on it goes.

One man who is happy about all this disbursement is Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, who said, “We are spending a lot of money….I do think it is appropriate to start taking a hard look at asking the wealthy and large corporations to start paying their fair share of taxes.”

It would seem that the left’s principle of “never let a crisis go to waste” is in full force here.

Where will all this money come from? Likely our grandchildren. No wonder the left likes abortion so much—it causes them to have less grandchildren.

Our third president, Thomas Jefferson, gave some strong warnings about our economy:

“To take from one, because it is thought that his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, ‘the guarantee to every one of a free exercise of his industry, & the fruits acquired by it.’”

Notice in particular what he had to say about governmental debt: “I place economy among the first and most important virtues, and public debt as the greatest of dangers to be feared. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. If we run into such debts, we must be taxed in our meat and drink, in our necessities and in our comforts, in our labor and in our amusements.” [Emphasis added]

In his Farewell Address, George Washington warned against runaway spending and needless debt:

“As a very important source of strength and security, cherish public credit. One method of preserving it is to use it as sparingly as possible, avoiding occasions of expense by cultivating peace, but remembering also that timely disbursements to prepare for danger frequently prevent much greater disbursements to repel it, avoiding likewise the accumulation of debt, not only by shunning occasions of expense, but by vigorous exertion in time of peace to discharge the debts which unavoidable wars may have occasioned, not ungenerously throwing upon posterity the burden which we ourselves ought to bear.” [Emphasis added]

In other words, during peacetime, the priority should be to pay off war debts. Meanwhile, we should avoid racking up debt.

Indeed, what kind of a country runs up a big bill, spends the money now, and then leaves it up to our children and grandchildren to have to pay it all back? There is nothing ethical about this.

Proverbs 13:22 says “A good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children.” In America we’re now doing the opposite—contrary to what both the Bible and the founders had to say.

Again, Ronald Reagan put it well: “We could say the government spend like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money.”

VIDEO: NBC Goes Full On Nazi in Vile Anti-Jew Episode of ‘Nurses’

The left’s relentless campaign against the Jews is reaching critical mass, mainstreaming, dehumanizing the Jewish people.

Another disgusting and dishonest scene from an NBC television show to demonize Jews. Jewish law does not prevent medical grafts from different genders, but the far-left writers of “Nurses” don’t care. Its just awful.

Can you imagine if it was the Black community, or the Muslim community, or the LGBTQ community that was being slandered on a nationally televised show. All hell would break lose. The CEO of NBCUniversal is a Jewish American named Jeff Shell. Yet he allows these vicious blood libels and slanders to appear on some of NBC’s most popular shows. Shame on him.

With ‘Nurses’ Episode, NBC Again Shows it Detests Jews

By Israelly Cool, February 24, 2021

Following my post on Michael Che’s “joke” about the Jewish state only vaccinating Jews – a mendacious libel that can only serve to promote the idea that us Jews think of ourselves as above all other life forms – I received a torrent of abuse. Besides the overtly antisemitic tweets, there were those who claimed the joke was only criticizing Israel, and thus could not be construed as antisemitic.

I would like to see how these same people now try to explain away this latest example of overt antisemitism from NBC:

While Israel is not explicitly mentioned, this is promoting exactly the same idea as the SNL sketch – that Jews only value Jewish life and not the lives of non-Jews.

This is, again, entirely false. And maliciously so.

Judaism holds all human life as being sacred. For this reason, donating an organ to save a life is one of the highest act of virtue one can do. So of course a Jew can donate an organ (that you can live without when you are alive, or any organ after death, but under certain conditions) to save any human life, and can also receive an organ from Jew or non-Jew alike. We even see this in Israel where Jews and Arabs donate organs for each other’s use.

Law Enforcement Confirms What We Already Knew About The Capitol Riots, Obliterates Democrats’ Narrative

Not only was the break in ore-planned, I believe the left was behind the violence in order to silence all election integrity inquiries.

Law Enforcement Confirms What We Already Knew About The Capitol Riots, Obliterates Democrats’ Narrative

By Jeff Charles | Redstate Feb 23, 2021:

Here’s something the Democrats hope you will miss.

Law enforcement officials testifying before a joint Senate hearing on Tuesday confirmed their belief that the Jan. 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol building was planned before the day of the event. This information completely annihilates the Democrats’ narrative regarding the assault on the Capitol building.

The Hill reported, “Top current and former law enforcement officials testifying Tuesday before a joint Senate hearing on the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol told lawmakers that evidence pointed to coordination and planning behind the mob of people that overwhelmed Capitol Police officers during the attack.”

Former Capitol police chief Steven Sund told members of the Senate that several factors led the authorities to believe that the riots were preplanned, and not spontaneous as Democrats have suggested.

“I’m able to provide you a quick overview of why I think it was a coordinated attack. One, people came specifically with equipment. You’re bringing in climbing gear to a demonstration. You’re bringing in explosives. You’re bringing in chemical spray … you’re coming prepared,” he explained.

The former police chief also noted the pipe bombs outside of the Democratic and Republican party headquarters. He indicated that they were likely placed to distract law enforcement from the Capitol during the assault on the Capitol.

Acting D.C. Metropolitan Police chief Robert Contee III concurred with Sund’s assessment. He told lawmakers that he saw “hand signals being used by several of the insurrectionists,” along with communication via radio being used by others.

“A number of individuals linked to various right-wing groups, including the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys, have been arrested in the weeks following the attack in connection to the violence, while the FBI’s D.C. field office is currently searching for dozens of other people present during the attack,” according to The Hill.

Remember when the Democrats based their entire impeachment case on the notion that former President Donald Trump incited the assault on the Capitol in the speech he gave at the rally? Have you seen how they still pretend that the entire incident was his fault? Well, this story further debunks their deceptive narrative.

Still, it is evident that none of this matters to the left because they already know that their arguments are false. They were as dishonest with this matter as they were about Russia collusion. But, it’s no surprise that they have resorted to this level of deception. It’s easier than debating the issues, isn’t it?

Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick’s Mother: ‘He Wasn’t Hit on the Head’ on Jan. 6

The only “insurrection” January 6th was the Democrat overthrow of ‘We the people’.

Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick’s Mother: ‘He Wasn’t Hit on the Head’ on Jan. 6

By Jack Phillips, The Epoch Times, February 23, 2021:

The mother of Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick said her son was not beaten with a fire extinguisher by a mob on Jan. 6, saying he likely suffered a stroke instead—refuting reports from the New York Times and other outlets claiming otherwise.

“He wasn’t hit on the head, no. We think he had a stroke, but we don’t know anything for sure,” Gladys Sicknick told the Daily Mail in an exclusive interview on Feb. 22. “We’d love to know what happened.”

The NY Times, CNN, and NBC updated their reports weeks after the Jan. 6 breach to assert that Sicknick was not killed by a fire extinguisher. Originally, the NY Times reported, based on anonymous sources, that Sicknick was beaten to death.

According to the NY Times’ update in February, “New information has emerged regarding the death of the Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick that questions the initial cause of his death provided by officials close to the Capitol Police.” However, there were reports of new information emerging about the circumstances of Sicknick’s death around the same time the NY Times published its report on Jan. 8.

The allegation Sicknick was killed by a protester was cited during the House impeachment managers’ presentations and arguments that former President Donald Trump should be convicted in the Senate impeachment trial over his speech on Jan. 6. Since the Capitol breach, some pundits and elected officials have cited Sicknick’s death while pushing claims that new domestic terrorism laws are needed.

Sicknick’s brother also disputed the reports about his death in early January. “[Officer Sicknick] texted me last night and said, ‘I got pepper-sprayed twice,’ and he was in good shape,” his brother, Ken Sicknick, said to news outlets last month, appearing to dispute key details of the original NY Times report.

Medical examiners have not released an official report on Sicknick’s cause of death. An autopsy report also was not released.

Meanwhile, there have been no arrests related to the officer’s death, and officials have not released details about a potential suspect. And while the breach was captured via live-streaming video, there is no footage that surfaced of demonstrators hitting Sicknick with a fire extinguisher.

An official Capitol Police statement said that “officer Brian D. Sicknick passed away due to injuries sustained while on duty,” continuing to say, “Officer Sicknick was responding to the riots on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at the US Capitol and was injured while physically engaging with protesters. He returned to his division office and collapsed. He was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.”

Investigative journalist Glenn Greenwald noted last week that Sicknick’s death was referenced so much because it is “the only example the media had of the pro-Trump mob deliberately killing anyone,” adding that “none of the other four deaths” during the riots “were at the hands of the protesters: the only other person killed with deliberate violence was a pro-Trump protester, Ashli Babbitt, unarmed when shot in the neck by a police officer at close range.” Two other protesters, according to officials, died of medical-related causes while another died allegedly due to a crush of fellow protesters.

Rep. Jordan Blasts Dems’ Bill: ‘They Want to Be Able to Lie About Us – But, We Can’t Tell the Truth About Them’

Why we need an inquiry into January 6

The Left Is Out To Demoralize America — We Cannot Let Them Win!

The left is out to demoralize America.  Both definitions of the word demoralize come into play in the case of leftist demoralization of America.  The first definition of demoralize is to “cause (someone) to lose confidence or hope; dispirit.”  The second definition of demoralize is to “corrupt the morals of (someone).”  If the left can cause people to lose their confidence or hope then they are more likely to fail their morals and fall to the corruption of the left.  Immorality is the left’s moral code.  We cannot let them win.

The left has no morals.   Truth is irrelevant to the left.  The left facetiously uses the word “equity” to disparage and discriminate against tens of millions of patriotic God fearing Americans.  The left makes up facts to meet their twisted agenda.  They twist laws to put right of center people in jail while ignoring laws that allow hardened criminals to run free in our neighborhoods and destroy cities.   The left’s hate for the values that the right cherishes is squarely in their bull’s eye for destruction.  The left is:

  • Repealing bail laws to let or keep criminals out of jail.
  • Not prosecuting laws that are intended to keep hardened, repeat criminals in jail and off the street.
  • Filling the ranks of top level national security positions with people who support the Council on American Islamic Relations, Antifa, Black Lives Matter and the Muslim Brotherhood.
  • Working to allow hundreds of thousands of foreigners with criminal records, terror associations, and cartel relations to cross our borders and stay in our neighborhoods every year.
  • Allowing unfettered entry into the United States from countries previously blocked because of their terror linked citizens.

Some people say the left’s extreme no holds barred policies that are focused on wrecking America are all about grabbing power.   So are millions of Americans really willing to turn their neighborhoods into havens for repeat, hardened offenders, illegal criminal aliens and imported terrorists?   Has the left’s zeal for power blinded them to the realities of what America will become under their reckless policies?  Maybe.  But I believe what motivates their blinded, reckless disregard for rational laws and public safety is their utter hate for people who are right of center, especially people of faith.

I am convinced after decades of being in the middle of the cultural battle to defend our values that the left has a deeply rooted hate for the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Jesus.  Jesus is quoted in John 15:18-20 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”  John 15:18-25 explains the spiritual nature of the left’s hate.

Thankfully, as long as we have a voice we must:

  • Stand with and show support for rational policies of public officials and oppose irrational ones.
  • Express support to judges that issue rulings congruent with the United States Constitution that defend our values.
  • Encourage judges to make America’s public safety the priority over political correctness and leftist intimidation.
  • Urge Corporate America to stop advertising with networks and websites that promote leftist propaganda that inspires hate toward Christians, Jews and conservative minded patriots.
  • Encourage companies to stop supporting public policies that side with leftist extremism.
  • Defend the people in the media who are boldly reporting the truth and naming the people who are advancing leftist extremism.
  • Call upon certain members of congress to oppose bills that advance leftist extremism.
  • Provide reports to Americans regarding the consequences of the left’s free pass to criminals and terrorists.
  • Call on state and local officials to fill in the gap left void by the Biden administration.
  • Pray that the impact of the left’s horrific policies will change the hearts and political thinking of millions of Americans toward sanity and civility.

Some Americans are despondent over the political and social changes that are taking place.  We must not be deterred.  We must continue to stand.  We will continue to stand and make a difference.

REPORT: President Trump to declare he is ‘presumptive 2024 nominee,’ leader of GOP in CPAC speech

The Republican Party is President Trump’s party, contrary to what the RINO Republicans think. President Trump’s speech this Sunday will be remembered as the beginning of the comeback. President Trump is going to take another run at the presidency in 2024. And it would be unwise to bet against him.

Trump to claim he is ‘presumptive 2024 nominee,’ leader of GOP in CPAC speech: report

By Fox News, February 22, 2021

Former president Donald Trump will claim he is the leader of the Republican party and its “presumptive 2024 nominee” when he makes his first public appearance since leaving office during the Conservative Political Action Conference next weekend in Orlando, according to a report.

A longtime Trump adviser told Axios his CPAC speech will be a “show of force,” and said the message will be: “I may not have Twitter or the Oval Office, but I’m still in charge.” The source reportedly added that “payback is his chief obsession.”

Trump’s advisers will reportedly meet with him at Mar-a-Lago this week to plan his next political moves, and to set up the framework for kingmaking in the 2022 midterm elections.

According to Axios, Trump is expected to go after the 10 House Republicans who voted to convict him in his impeachment trial, spurred by the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, and the seven GOP Senators who voted with Democrats to convict.

Trump was acquitted, with 57 senators voting for his conviction — short of the required two-thirds majority — and 43 voting against conviction.

He also reportedly plans to argue in the CPAC speech that many of his predictions about President Biden have already come true.

“Trump effectively is the Republican Party,” Trump senior adviser Jason Miller told Fox News. “The only chasm is between Beltway insiders and grassroots Republicans around the country. When you attack President Trump, you’re attacking the Republican grassroots.”

Trump has found support from state Republican officials who censured some members of Congress who voted against him. Meanwhile, his leadership PAC, Save America, has $75 million on hand to help set up primary challenges to sitting Republicans who went against him, as well as a database of tens of millions of names.

Suffolk University/ USA Today poll found that 46% of Trump supporters would abandon the Republican Party and join a Trump party should he decide to create one, versus 27% who would stay with the GOP.

Half of the individuals polled said the Republican Party should become “more loyal to Trump,” even if it means losing support from establishment Republicans, versus 19% saying the party should become less loyal to Trump and more aligned with establishment Republicans.

The survey of 1,000 Trump voters, identified from 2020 polls, was taken by landline and cellphone last Monday through Friday. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

VIDEO: Democrat Congressman Says He DOESN’T CARE About Independent Small Businesses

Just awful. America’s small business owners are in for some very difficult days, now that the Left is in charge of our government. A $15 per hour minimum wage will force many small business owners to lay off their employees to cover their loses. It will also force many small business owners to shut down. It’s madness.

“Every ugly, brutal aspect of injustice toward racial or religious minorities is being practiced toward businessmen.. . . Every movement that seeks to enslave a country, every dictatorship or potential dictatorship, needs some minority group as a scapegoat which it can blame for the nation’s troubles and use as a justification of its own demands for dictatorial powers. In Soviet Russia, the scapegoat was the bourgeoisie; in Nazi Germany, it was the Jewish people; in America, it is the businessmen.” Ayn Rand

WATCH: Dem Rep admits he doesn’t care about independent small businesses

By PM, February 22, 2021

Congressman Ro Khanna (D-CA) took to CNN on Sunday morning to discuss the possibility of increasing the minimum wage to $15 per hour.

“They shouldn’t be doing it by paying people low wages, we don’t want low wage businesses, I think most successful small businesses can pay a fair wage,” Khanna said.

Khanna was asked how small businesses which are already struggling to pay their bills would survive a minimum wage increase.

“They shouldn’t be doing it by paying people low wages, we don’t want low wage businesses, I think most successful small businesses can pay a fair wage,” Khanna said.

“If you look at minimum wage, it increased with worker productivity until 1968 and that relationship was severed,” Khanna continued. “If workers were actually getting paid for the value they were creating, it would be up to $23.”

“I love small businesses, I’m all for it, but I don’t want small businesses that underpay employees.”

The federal minimum wage in the United States currently sits at $7.25 per hour, although it is higher in some states and individual municipalities. President Joe Biden has expressed a commitment to getting the minimum wage increased to $15 per hour by 2025.

The potential move has been criticized by Republicans, who argue that it would put many Americans out of work as some businesses cannot afford to pay $15 per hour.

Others have also criticized it as a one-size-fits-all approach. Cost of living ranges drastically across American states, and while a $7.25 wage may not be a livable wage in New York City, it is not the same case for a state such as Mississippi.

In a study conducted by the Congressional Budget Office, they found that increasing the minimum wage to $15 per hour would lift 0.9 million people out of poverty, place 1.4 million Americans out of a job, and would increase the US budget deficit by $54 billion.

Democrats Demand Cable Companies, Streaming Platforms Drop FOX, OANN, and Newsmax

Book banning, media ministry of truth, criminalizing political opposition, Goebbels-style propaganda……. the road to hell.

This will end badly.

House Democrats Push Cable Companies, Streaming Platforms to Drop Conservative Networks

By Chuck Ross February 22, 2021:

Two House Democrats sent letters Monday to a dozen television broadcasters suggesting that they stop airing Fox News, Newsmax, and One America News Network, a move which a Republican commissioner on the FCC called a “chilling transgression” aimed at de-platforming the conservative networks.

“Are you planning to continue carrying Fox News, OANN, and Newsmax on your platform both now and beyond the renewal date?” California Reps. Anna G. Eshoo and Jerry McNerney wrote in a letter to the companies.

“If so, why?” they asked.

The letters were sent to AT&T, Verizon, Roku, Amazon, Apple, Comcast, Charter, Dish, Cox, Altice, Alphabet and Hulu.

Eshoo and McNerney asked the companies what steps they took after the 2020 presidential election “to monitor, respond to, and reduce the spread of disinformation, including encouragement or incitement of violence by channels your company disseminates to millions of Americans?”

The lawmakers blamed the three conservative outlets for spreading disinformation about voter fraud that led to the attack on the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6.

They asserted that the cable and streaming companies “have done nothing in response to the misinformation aired by these outlets.”

Brendan Carr, a Trump-appointed commissioner on the Federal Communications Commission, called the letter a “chilling transgression” against the networks aimed at stifling editorial decisions and political speech.

“I call on my FCC colleagues to join me in publicly denouncing this attempt to stifle political speech and independent news judgment,” Carr said in a statement on Twitter.

“The Democrats are sending a message that is as clear as it is troubling — these regulated entities will pay a price if the targeted newsrooms do not conform to Democrats’ preferred political narratives.”

Eshoo and McNerney sit on the House Committee on Energy & Commerce, which will hold a hearing on Wednesday entitled “Fanning the Flames: Disinformation and Extremism in the Media.”

“Some broadcasters’ and cable networks’ increasing reliance on conspiracy theories and misleading or patently false information raises questions about their devotion to journalistic integrity,” Democrats on the committee wrote of the hearing.

“We look forward to hearing from media experts about what is being done and what more can be done to address this growing problem moving forward.”

Momentum has been building since the election to deplatform various conservative media companies and conservative personalities. The most prominent example is Twitter and Facebook’s banning of President Donald Trump following the Capitol riots.

Three other Big Tech firms, Apple, Google and Amazon, all cut access after the riots to Parler, the social media platform popular with conservatives.

The companies alleged that conservatives had used Parler to spread election-related disinformation and to organize the assault on the Capitol, though Facebook was mentioned far more often in charging documents against rioters who have been arrested so far.

Beijing ☭ Biden Signs Executive Order Ending Trump Industry Apprenticeship Program

President Trump’s economic policies brought tremendous prosperity to the American worker. The unions should have showered President Trump with praise for his pro-industry agenda. They didn’t do that. Instead, most of America’s union leaders endorsed President Biden. The union members should demand their resignation.

“The policy allowed “trade and industry groups, companies, non-profit organizations, unions, and joint labor-management organizations” to create their own apprenticeship programs that would help workers obtain the skills that the economy needed but that universities are not providing, or are providing at a cost that is unaffordable for many Americans.”

Biden Signs Executive Order Ending Trump Industry Apprenticeship Program

By Breitbart, February 22, 2021

President Joe Biden signed an executive order this week revoking former President Donald Trump’s order providing federal funds to apprenticeship programs created by industries, calling for more government-controlled alternatives.

In 2017, Trump signed Executive Order 13801, Industry-Recognized Apprenticeship Programs (IRAPs). The policy allowed “trade and industry groups, companies, non-profit organizations, unions, and joint labor-management organizations” to create their own apprenticeship programs that would help workers obtain the skills that the economy needed but that universities are not providing, or are providing at a cost that is unaffordable for many Americans.

“Registered Apprenticeships,” approved by the government, have been part of U.S. labor policy for decades. Under the Obama administration, these received more funding. But critics argued that the government-controlled model, run by the Department of Labor and with the involvement of labor unions, held back the growth of apprenticeships. The Trump order allowed industries (and unions) to develop their own programs, within regulations but independent of government control.

The Washington Post — hardly friendly to the Trump administration — reported that his new policy had bipartisan support:

Trump signed an executive order that seeks to reorient and expand ApprenticeshipUSA, a grant program that was previously championed by the Obama administration and has been supported by Democrats and Republicans alike.
The administration’s aim, White House officials say, is to give more flexibility to third parties — including businesses, trade associations and labor unions — to design programs that will offer skills training to those who are seeking jobs for which they are not yet qualified.

Under current rules, the Labor Department is too heavy-handed in crafting the programs, they argue.

But left-wing groups, and some congressional Democrats, objected to Trump’s order. The Center for American Progress complained that Trump was creating “a parallel track that lacks adequate worker protections” that could allow for “the proliferation of low-quality programs.”

Democrats eventually frustrated Trump’s new system, as Bloomberg News noted this week: “Democrats in Congress blocked funding and the implementing regulations weren’t finalized until last year.”

Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), the Ranking Member on the House Committee on Education and Labor, objected to Biden’s change in a statement:

“President Biden’s move to end IRAPs will kill jobs. Period. Doubling down on an inefficient, 80-year-old system that is unresponsive to workers’ needs is not a solution, it is irresponsible.

“In the last four months 131 IRAPs have been created, the vast majority of which are for nursing credentials. Why a party that claims to follow science would limit nursing credentials during a global pandemic is beyond me.

“Instead of catering to union bosses and increasing Washington’s overreach into the private sector, we should support and encourage efforts to cut the regulatory red tape that stops too many employers from filling in-demand jobs. Employer-led apprenticeship programs account for more than 80 percent of all apprenticeship programs nationwide. The success of these programs should come as no surprise, employers know best what skills their employees need to excel in the workplace.

The Biden White House described his new policy as “expanding registered apprenticeship programs,” with a view to training “diverse, local, well-trained workers who have a choice to join a union.”

The White House claimed that industry-run apprenticeships “have fewer quality standards than registered apprenticeship programs” and that they “fail to require the wage progression” that occurs under union-backed, government-run programs.

Are lockdowns one of the most catastrophic policy errors of the century?

In many countries, there has been a systematic and mandatory paralysis of schooling, work, leisure, and mobility.

When respected scientific experts sitting on prestigious governmental advisory committees warned citizens early last year that the only way to protect themselves against Covid-19 was to shut down their businesses and stay at home until public health officials deemed it safe to come out again, most complied, even at great personal and economic cost.

The result has been one of the most far-reaching and unprecedented social experiments of modern times: the systematic and mandatory paralysis of a large swathe of normal social activity, including schooling, work, leisure, and mobility. If this giant experiment had been run on a one-off basis for a few weeks, the impact might have been moderate; but as it morphed into “rolling” lockdowns, the cure became far worse than the disease.

China got the ball rolling, by imposing a dramatic lockdown upon its citizens in January 2020. A host of Western governments soon followed suit, and lockdowns were imposed in relatively quick succession in Italy, France, Spain, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Greece, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and large parts of North America.

A “lockdown” could be technically defined as one or more non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) which heavily restrict the movements and activities of the general population in order to contain the spread of an infectious disease. Voluntary reductions in socialising are not considered as lockdown measures; involuntary, police-enforced restrictions such as stay-at-home orders, travel restrictions, partial or complete border closures, and mandatory school and business closures, are.

The use of these sorts of highly intrusive population-wide measures to mitigate a pandemic represent a revolutionary break with conventional wisdom and best practice surrounding infectious disease control.

Prior to 2020, national and international public health authorities generally accepted that infectious diseases should be mitigated through relatively non-intrusive measures like improved hand hygiene, the development of more effective medical treatments and vaccines, and isolation of specific individuals or groups known to have been exposed to an infectious disease.

For example, the report on “Non-pharmaceutical public health measures for mitigating the risk and impact of epidemic and pandemic influenza” issued by the World Health Organisation in 2019 did not endorse the general efficacy of border closures as tools of disease control, nor did it contemplate the possibility of confining healthy populations to their homes.

So much for the prevailing philosophies of disease control. What of prevailing practices of disease control? To my knowledge, neither mandatory school and business closures, nor stay-at-home orders, have ever been employed in a systematic and centrally coordinated way to mitigate disease – that is, until January 2020. Therefore, centrally coordinated lockdowns of the sort that we have seen in 2020 must be considered as unorthodox, untested, and highly experimental interventions.

The question is, what have been the fruits of this giant public policy experiment? Have lockdowns actually been vindicated by their net benefits?

In order to adequately address this question, we must be clear on one thing: the appropriate benchmark for assessing the merits of lockdown policies is not just their capacity to reduce Covid infections or deaths, but their capacity to advance the overall health and well-being of affected populations.

For example, even if we eliminated Covid from the face of the earth, that would hardly be desirable if it drove a large section of the population into poverty and increased overall excess mortality.

Nobody in their right mind would deny that Covid-19 illnesses and deaths are a serious harm that we should mitigate in any reasonable way we can. Nonetheless, given the massive collateral damages that severe and prolonged lockdowns are known to inflict on society, they should never be undertaken in the absence of a careful cost-benefit analysis.

Yet to this day, I have not seen reports of any serious or sustained effort by pro-lockdown governments to show that the enormous harms of lockdown are justified by their likely net benefits. The fact that lockdowns have been employed without this sort of justification in hand is reason enough to consider them as reckless, inhumane and morally abhorrent.

The predictable harms of lockdowns, which will have to be carefully documented and tallied over the coming months and years, are extensive.

They include the worst global recession, according to World Bank analysts, since World War II, and dramatic increases in poverty and unemployment (currently at 25% in Ireland, including recipients of Covid payments according to the Central Office of Statistics), which are known to bring in their train declines in mental and physical health. This is also resulting in reduced public funding for healthcare due to a depressed economy; and an increase in social inequality, as day labourers and contract workers are uniquely vulnerable to the economic shock of lockdowns.

We’ve also seen an unprecedented transfer of wealth from small and medium businesses to multinational companies like Amazon, Netflix, and Google (given that small and medium traders are hit much harder by lockdowns than online traders).

Other tragic consequences of lockdown include spikes in loneliness, depression, and domestic abuse as people are deprived of social outlets beyond their homes. A generation of children are being set back in their education and life prospects by prolonged school closures (according to UNESCO, the impact of school closures “is particularly severe for the most vulnerable and marginalized (children)”.

A spike in untreated illnesses in expected, including cancer and heart disease, due to the cancellation of routine medical services and the generalised fear and panic generated by lockdowns. The WHO reported this month that the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic was “stark” and “profound” with “50 per cent of governments (having) cancer services partially or completely disrupted because of the pandemic.” One study in The Lancet Oncology journal estimates an increase of 8-9% in breast cancer deaths up to 5 years after diagnosis due to reductions or suspensions in cancer services.

On top of these obvious harms, we should not underestimate the impact of lockdown policies on civil rights and the rule of law. Legislators across Europe and North America have empowered the police to interrogate citizens just because they step into their cars, pay a visit to a friend or relative, or take a walk on the beach.

This level of State interference with basic civil liberties puts in jeopardy something very precious about the Western way of life: the idea that law-abiding citizens are free and responsible for their own actions, and not prisoners or wards of State.

Lockdowns are morally questionable on civil liberty grounds alone. But even if one believes it is legitimate to imprison citizens in their homes and strip them of a livelihood for the greater good, lockdowns remain a dangerous social experiment which should never be attempted in the absence of a compelling case that they do more good than harm.

Any government that does not provide a transparent and rigorous assessment of the likely costs and benefits of lockdowns before implementing them is guilty of gross negligence, and must answer to its citizens for its reckless and misguided interventions.

SATAN’S MINIONS: The Financiers of Michael R. Pence — Part 3

“When a government is dependent upon bankers for money, they and not the leaders of the government control the situation, since the hand that gives is above the hand that takes…Money has no motherland; financiers are without patriotism and without decency; their sole object is gain.” –  Napoleon Bonaparte, 1815

“Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction.” – Blaise Pascal, French mathematician

“Only crime and the criminal, it is true, confront us with the perplexity of radical evil; but only the hypocrite is really rotten to the core.” –  Hannah Arendt

Motivated mainly by ego, Mike Pence and his wife Karen craved the upper echelons of political power.  Pence always looked to those with money and power who could advance his political goals.  One of them was his good friend, David McIntosh, a well-known Trump hater who served as executive director of Vice President Dan Quayle‘s and Bush’s Council for Competitiveness.  But McIntosh was only the beginning, the DeVos and Koch organizations were the financiers with serious money.

Club for Growth

McIntosh, the pro-amnesty president of Club for Growth (CFG), left his congressional seat to seek the governorship of Indiana in 2000 which opened the door for Pence to run for Indiana’s 6th district.  McIntosh introduced Pence to the chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Van Smith, who ran a manufacturing and real estate empire from headquarters in Muncie and could help fund Pence.  After years of being on Indiana radio, Pence was well-known and Van Smith encouraged his run. Smith worked with Pence and even helped him achieve the gubernatorial nomination.

Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Kelly Stanley was Pence’s fund raiser for his 2000 election to Congress.  (As Lou Dobbs often stated, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce promotes globalism.)

In 2012, Pence scheduled a fund raiser with GOP Governor-elect Nikki Haley and she ultimately became Trump’s UN Ambassador.  Haley collaborated closely with VP Pence during her tenure as Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations. As head of the transition team staffing the Trump Administration, Pence likely is largely responsible for NeverTrumper Haley gaining the sensitive and high-profile post when a South Carolina business friend asked Trump to appoint Haley so their more conservative Lt. Governor could take over. An indicator of the tight connection between Pence and Haley is that in their gubernatorial campaigns in Indiana and South Carolina, they shared the same principal campaign consultant, the young Georgian Nick Ayers.

The Club had been created with the aid of the Koch brothers’ political machine and advised about 1,500 donors, a number of whom were Wall Street investors.  They sent checks to the organization.

CFG had financed Pence’s good friend Jeff Flake for his first term in Congress.  Flake stated that every two weeks as much as $15K in checks arrived at his doorstep from people he didn’t know.  This was when founder Stephen Moore was the president and was so disinterested in social issues that he banned the word “abortion” at club meetings.  (Anti-gunner Pat Toomey succeeded Moore as president.)

After Pence appeared for inspection, he was selected to be one of ten newcomers favored by the club. Pence collected a bit more than $3,100 from a CFG account and an additional $62,400 in checks forwarded to him by the club.  Others filled his coffers with more than $1 million.  His list of contributors included Amway heir Dick DeVos and J. Patrick Rooney of the Golden Rule Financial insurance company.

Pence followed CFG’s open global markets and free trade agreements. After he spoke at the 2000 RNC for Bush/Cheney, Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, now a convicted felon, pro-amnesty majority leader Dick Armey and Republican whip Tom Delay attended rallies in Indiana to boost Pence.  Pence adopted Armey as a mentor.

Dick and Betsy DeVos

Pence was appealing to many organizations, but especially to the DeVos Family Foundation which was built on the Amway home products company by Dick’s father, Richard.  Betsy’s father was Edgar Prince and her brother is Erik Prince, founder of the private military company Blackwater USA.  Prince’s private military force had a $1 billion contract to provide services in Iraq.  It billed the US taxpayers roughly $450K per year per man deployed in country, which was about six times the amount paid to an American soldier.  Privatization in action…transferring government function to businesses.

Erik is the Vice President of The Prince Foundation founded by his parents, Edgar and Elsa Prince.  They have donated millions of dollars to alleged American conservative Christian groups as Alliance Defense FundCouncil for National PolicyFamily Research Council, Focus on the Family, Promise Keepers and American Family Association.

Betsy DeVos is known for her support for school choice, school voucher programs, and charter schools.  Columnist Diane Kepus researched Betsy DeVos and knew she would be a disaster; her two articles on DeVos are well worth your time, Link and Link.

What most people don’t realize is that when one penny of federal tax dollars (which is given to the states) goes to support a religious, private, or home school child via choice or vouchers, all the federal regulations go with those funds.

In August of 1933, Dr. J. Gresham Machen, gave the speech, The Necessity of the Christian School. He was Professor of New Testament in Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, Pa. The lecture was given at the Educational Convention held in Chicago under the auspices of the National Union of Christian Schools.  Here is a portion of what he said:

Every lover of human freedom ought to oppose with all his might the giving of Federal aid to the schools of this country; for Federal aid in the long run inevitably means Federal control, and Federal control means control by a centralized and irresponsible bureaucracy, and control by such a bureaucracy means the death of everything that might make this country great. Against this soul-killing collectivism in education, the Christian school, like the private school, stands as an emphatic protest.

Pence’s devoted financier, Betsy DeVos was nominated after Michelle Rhee was dropped. DeVos was lauded for Education Secretary by Jeb Bush as she sat on the board of his Foundation of Excellence in Education which promoted common core.

Diane Kepus’ fears were founded.  Mike Pence played an important role in the confirmation of Betsy DeVos for Education Secretary. Amid protests from Democratic critics and teachers’ unions that DeVos, a billionaire charter school supporter with no public-school experience, was unqualified for the position, the Senate deadlocked in a 50-50 tie. Republican Senators Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska joined their Democratic colleagues in voting against DeVos. Normally we wouldn’t laud their votes, but this time they were right.  On February 7, 2017, Vice President Pence cast the historic tie-breaking vote to confirm her, the first-time a vice president has been called on to break a tie in a cabinet nomination.

Betsy’s brother Erik Prince had long been a Pence backer.  Betsy and Dick DeVos were impressed by Pence’s support for their pet project of charter schools.  One wonders if Pence and DeVos back American tax-funded charters by Islamic Imam Fethullah Gulen, Rudolph Steiner’s Anthroposophical Waldorf Schools, massively growing in China, and Communist Chinese charter schoolsChinese investors are putting millions into Florida Chinese charters.

Pence compensated one of his expansive financiers with a cabinet position in the Trump administration…a job where she kept President Carter’s cabinet level Education Department as rotten as it has been since its creation. In 1867, President Andrew Johnson signed legislation creating the first Department of Education. Its main purpose was to collect information and statistics about the nation’s schools.  By 1880 John Dewey was promoting his progressive education turning students into functional illiterates.

Koch Brother Organizations

For years, Pence has been a loyal political ally of the biggest GOP dark money donors. He is a major beneficiary of Koch family money. The Koch organizations did not endorse, nor did they fund Trump in 2016, but they love Pence.  Charles Koch once likened the contest between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton to being asked to choose cancer or a heart attack.

A steady flow of Koch money has filled Pence’s campaign coffers and he has employed many former Koch staffers in his political offices.  Koch Industries and Koch Enterprises became top donors during Pence’s Congressional career.  Pence’s close friend, Kellyanne Conway is one of many people who has worked for both Pence and Koch-affiliated groups.  As Governor of Indiana, Pence hired Koch Industry’s then-communications director, Matt Lloyd, to work for him.  Lloyd was a longtime Pence staffer in Congress.

Pence’s long-time adviser and former chief of staff, Mark Short was president of Koch’s Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce from 2011 to 2016. Short was previously a Senior Fellow at the Miller Center of Public Affairs, a CNN contributor, as well as Chief of Staff to Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and the House Republican Conference.

Peter Navarro told us the truth about Marc Short.  He said, “Marc Short, VP Pence’s Chief of Staff, worked with Pence in allowing the Big Steal to move forward – He’s “not a good guy.”

In June of 2017, 16 of 23 senior white house officials had ties to the Koch brothers, including Reince Priebus, Kellyanne Conway, Jeff Sessions, Mick Mulvaney, Rob Porter and Don McGahn.  Even Treasury Secretary Mnuchin helped them out with a change in tax laws.  The Trump administration was packed full of Koch operatives, brought in by their water boy, Mike Pence. Here is a shocking list of the Trump transition team Koch beneficiaries.

Heritage Foundation

In 1991, Pence became president of the Indiana Policy Review Foundation (IPRF), which is part of the State Policy Network. Link They are satellite affiliates of the Heritage Foundation whose goals and interests are similar to the Koch’s.  The IPRF was a small group back when Pence was president, but in the years since it has amassed an enormous budget thanks in great part to the largess of the Koch network of donors.

Koch money massively funds the Federalist Society and they chose the list of names for Trump appointments to the Supreme Court. Link  Heritage Foundation also provided a list of “conservative” names to Trump for Supreme Court Justices, and Heritage has received funding from organizations connected to the Koch brothers. In 2012, the Heritage Foundation received $650,000 from the Claude R. Lambe Foundation, which was one of the Koch Family Foundations before it closed in 2013. The Lambe Foundation contributed at least $4.8 million to the Heritage Foundation between 1998 and 2012.

Heritage Foundation is controlled-opposition, and has received funding from Koch’s Donors Trust and Donors Capital Fund, including $53,300 in 2010 and $69,850 in 2012.  The Koch brothers have donated millions of dollars to Donors Trust through the Knowledge and Progress Fund.

Kochs are key funders of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and the State Policy Network (SPN).  ALEC was founded by Heritage Foundation’s first president, Paul Weyrich.  Stephen Moore, founder of Club for Growth is on the board of ALEC because like the Kochs, and ALEC, they are all promoting another constitutional convention that would ultimately destroy our 1787 Constitution.

Pence spoke at the ALEC meeting in Indianapolis in the summer of 2016 and met with the Kochs in Denver in 2017.

David Koch was on the board of Trustees of Rockefeller University.  He was also on the board of Earth watch Institute, an environmental, sustainability, Agenda 21 group and the board of the globalist new age Aspen Institute formerly headed by now deceased new age environmentalist Maurice Strong.  Strong was the driving force behind the birth and imposition of UN Agenda 21.

Stem-cell research is supported by the Kochs and David also signed onto an amicus brief for the supreme court supporting gay rights and gay marriage.  Running as the Libertarian Party vice presidential candidate in 1980, David Koch backed a platform calling for the full legalization of abortion.

Heritage Foundation has acquired millions in funding by other pro-abortion advocates, besides the Koch Foundation.  Richard Mellon Scaife donated over $30 million and took out a full-page WSJ ad in 2004 claiming Americans should be pleased to give tax dollars to Planned Parenthood.

Shelby and Kathryn Davis gave millions to Heritage.  Kathryn was a longtime advocate of women’s rights through the League of Women’s Voters and Planned Parenthood, a committed environmentalist who also endorsed global education initiatives. Davis was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a Wellesley College trustee for 18 years.

Mike Pence has now joined Heritage as a “distinguished visiting fellow.”

Koch Campaign for Amnesty

The billionaire Koch brothers campaign for amnesty and cheap labor shows they are open border, mass immigration, and mass amnesty despite opposition from the American people.  Koch ads pushed amnesty by using the words of the D.C. political establishment, which is unified not only on mass immigration, but also on endless free trade, and foreign interventionism.  House Speaker Paul Ryan was with them. Koch money even supported Andrew Cuomo as Governor of New York, who had publicly stated, “America has never been great.”

A campaign launched by Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, Americans for Prosperity and the LIBRE Initiative, all groups funded by Koch brothers, consisted of advertisements, lobbying efforts and grassroots organization. This was a multi-year, multi-million-dollar campaign to tout free trade and oppose Trump’s tariffs, and to defy our President’s goals.

In a January 2018 White House bi-partisan immigration meeting with Trump, Pence declined to support Trump’s plan to change the law so that immigration rules help Americans, and he instead touted a quick amnesty for ‘DACA’ illegals.  Pence sided with his pro-immigration buddies Flake and Ryan rather than with President Trump.

Jeff Flake and other pro-amnesty Senators were there by invitation to urge the administration to cave to the big business lobby, which wants an expansive amnesty in which DACA illegal aliens are given work permits so that wages can be kept stagnant, rather than rising for Americans.  All these pro-immigration Senators were brought into DACA discussions with Trump by Vice President Mike Pence, an ally of the pro-mass immigration, and pro-Constitutional Convention GOP mega-donors, the Koch brothers.  Charles Koch is now attempting to get Republicans to work together with Democrats to get amnesty passed for the millions of illegal aliens in America.

And if you still think Koch organizations are conservative, the Charles Koch Foundation has partnered with Soros’s Open Society Foundations  to launch a foreign policy think tank.

Conclusion

For all his piety, Pence doesn’t seem to be bothered by the devils who finance him.

Justice Thomas: Supreme Court REFUSAL to Hear Pennsylvania Election Cases Is ‘INEXPLICABLE’

The last honest man …….

Justice Thomas: SCOTUS Refusal to Hear Pennsylvania Election Cases Is ‘Inexplicable’

The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 to reject the review of two 2020 Pennsylvania presidential election cases Monday, but Justices Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch and Clarence Thomas believe they should have been given hearings.

By Katie Pavlich, Town Hall, February 22, 2021:

https://twitter.com/disclosetv/status/1363861459193786374?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1363861459193786374%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fgellerreport.com%2F2021%2F02%2Fjustice-thomas-supreme-court-refusal-to-hear-pennsylvania-election-cases-is-inexplicable.html%2F

In his dissent Justice Thomas argued mass mail-in voting, which was conducted in Pennsylvania for the first time ahead of the 2020 presidential election in November, combined with election rules being rewritten last minute, makes the process prone to fraud and mistrust.

“The Constitution gives to each state legislature authority to determine the ‘Manner’ of federal elections…Yet both before and after the 2020 election, nonlegislative officials in various States took it upon themselves to set the rules instead. As a result, we received an unusually high number of petitions and emer- gency applications contesting those changes. The petitions here present a clear example. The Pennsylvania Legislature established an unambiguous deadline for receiving mail-in ballots: 8 p.m. on election day,” Thomas wrote.  “Dissatisfied, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court extended that deadline by three days. The court also ordered officials to count ballots received by the new deadline even if there was no evi- dence—such as a postmark—that the ballots were mailed by election day. That decision to rewrite the rules seems to have affected too few ballots to change the outcome of any federal election. But that may not be the case in the future. These cases provide us with an ideal opportunity to address just what authority nonlegislative officials have to set elec- tion rules, and to do so well before the next election cycle. The refusal to do so is inexplicable.”

“One wonders what this Court waits for. We failed to settle this dispute before the election, and thus provide clear rules. Now we again fail to provide clear rules for future elections. The decision to leave election law hidden beneath a shroud of doubt is baffling. By doing nothing, we invite further confusion and erosion of voter confidence. Our fellow citizens deserve better and expect more of us,” he continued.

Conservatives Need to Start Taking No Prisoners and Claiming Scalps

One reason conservatives never saw a culture war they couldn’t lose is that they insist on using Queensberry rules, even as the Left fights no-holds-barred. Consider, for example, two scenarios.

When leftists discover someone “committing conservatism” — such as when former Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich was found to have donated $1,000 to California’s Proposition 8 — they accept nothing less than the person’s termination. In fact, they never want him to work again. Ergo “cancel culture.”

When leftists effect something truly outrageous, such as the anti-white “Deep Equity” school curriculum being implemented nationwide, the reaction is different. Conservatives may fight back against it as they did with Deep Equity in Chandler, Arizona, but they’re generally satisfied if the social engineering is abandoned. They don’t go for blood. In fact, so often have I heard prominent conservative figures say in such a situation, “Look, I don’t want anyone fired.”

Well, I do.

I say this not with just a vindictive spirit. Liberals make sure to administer a coup de grâce generally driven by anger and hatred, emotions epitomizing them. Yet slightly more thoughtful leftists may have an additional reason and understand something: Culture wars are zero-sum games. And winning a battle but leaving your adversary in place to fight another day is no recipe for victory.

With respect to school indoctrination, consider: If you caught a teacher trying to molest your child, would you be satisfied with an apology and continue leaving your kid in his care?

Why should it be any different when a teacher visits upon your child the rape of mind, heart and soul?

The point apparently missed is that in such a situation, the problem is not that the educator tried to effect a given type of toxic indoctrination.

It’s that he’s the kind of person who would effect toxic indoctrination.

This won’t change just because you successfully mitigate an obvious symptom of his moral disease. He’s still infected; he still is what he is. And while I’m no fan of Maya Angelou, some of her words should be heeded here: “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.”

“I remember first hearing these words in my early twenties. I heard them,” she continued. “I just didn’t follow them. Hence, I brought myself a whole lot of painful lessons and needless suffering because I always wanted to give people a second chance, and a third, and a fourth….”

Implementing a planned program of leftist insanity isn’t just a momentary lapse in judgment such as an angry outburst, regretted soon afterwards, that resulted in calling a child a derogatory name. It bespeaks of a twisted world view, of a lack of virtue. And when you identify a cancerous tumor, you excise it; you don’t leave it in place so it can metastasize further and affect the healthy tissue around it.

A teacher imbued with leftism will corrupt everything he touches, whether he wants to or not. For he cannot help being what he is. As with virtues, vices are caught more than they’re taught. It’s what’s assumed that’s learned best, and an educator’s basic assumptions will always come through to his students one way or another.

This said, a left-wing teacher will usually seek to intentionally indoctrinate his charges even after being caught with his ideological pants down. He’ll just be more subtle about it.

If my prescription still sounds harsh, know that there’s a difference between being virtuous and being a “nice” guy — and that nice guys finish last. I’d also implore conservatives to stop being conservative, as in being defensive, as in conserving our now leftism-forged status quo.

I’d further say, look around you. Do you not realize that our culture is being undone root and branch? Have you not noticed the statues coming down, the traditions torn up, the names of Founders and other historical heroes being stripped from buildings, the history being rewritten, and the morality being turned on its head? Do you not see that we’re facing our own Year Zero?

This is happening, too, partially because of the educational indoctrination of the past many decades, which conservatives didn’t effectively combat because, in part (though there were other reasons), they “didn’t want to see anyone lose his job.”

But conservatives, one might hope, would understand the importance of accountability. In fact, we find it maddening, and complain, when we see conservatives crucified for saying “boo” (e.g., Roger Stone) while left-wing criminals such as John Brennan and Jim Comey are allowed to skate. Yet are we doing any better?

A threat of merely having to stop your social engineering (perhaps only temporarily) if it’s discovered is no threat at all. Loss of employment, however, sends a message. And don’t confuse a soft head with a soft heart. It matters little here that a propagandizing ex-teacher may have trouble paying the rent; it matters much that our culture is being rent stem to stern.

The accountability being prescribed here should, of course, be applied beyond education and to all our institutions, from government bureaucracies to film studios. But education matters because as the apocryphal saying warns, “The teaching in the schools today will become the politics of tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow” is now because yesterday too many of us were distracted, lukewarm, inattentive, and complacent — and too busy being “nice guys.”

Really, we need to become as “intolerant” as leftists accuse us of being and 10 percent as intolerant they are.

As the late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen put it in 1931, “America, it is said, is suffering from intolerance — it is not. It is suffering from tolerance. Tolerance of right and wrong, truth and error, virtue and evil, Christ and chaos. Our country is not nearly so overrun with the bigoted as it is overrun with the broadminded.”

Tolerance of evil is evil itself. Go Roman, conservative brethren, or go home.
