On January 6th, 2021, Mike Pence knifed Donald Trump in the back and the Republic in the heart.  We expected it.  He refused to hear from states who wanted a ten to twelve-day delay in the counting of electoral votes, despite receiving multiple letters asking him to do so.  At the end of the electoral count, he elbow bumped with Speaker Nancy Pelosi.  His loyalty was not to Donald Trump or to the Republic.

Presidential Aspirations

The former VP has now formed a fundraising group hinting a run for President in 2024 against former President Trump, who I highly doubt will run again. Pence claims he’ll be active in 2022 elections.  The treasonous activities of the 2020 elections have proven the alleged vote fraud will never again allow true conservatives to be elected; of course, those who would toe the line are acceptable.

Pence has joined controlled-opposition Heritage Foundation as a distinguished fellow.  He has also started a podcast and will be writing a monthly op-ed and speaking at conferences and colleges in his new capacity as the Ronald Reagan Presidential Scholar at the conservative Young America’s Foundation.  The foundation was founded at the home of neo-con William F. Buckley and is heavily funded by Koch brother organizations and famous icons of the neo-con rightwing including former Amway executives Richard and Helen DeVos and Morton Blackwell’s Leadership Institute.

In May 2017, Pence filed FEC paperwork to form Great America Committee, a political action committee (PAC) that would be headed by his former campaign staffers Koch brothers’ Nick Ayers and Marty Obst. Pence is the only vice president to have started his own PAC only six months after taking office.  See Open Secrets for who received funds.

Pence Demeanor

Pence was a six-term member of the House who had focused on climbing the ladder of party leadership but he never chaired a major committee or authored even one single successful piece of legislation.  His manner, always guarded and always pushing to get ahead, caused members of his own party to keep him at arm’s length.  Pence was considered likeable enough, but he wasn’t personally popular; his closest friends in the House were Jeff Flake and Paul Ryan.

Flake went on to become Arizona Senator in 2013 and retired after one term.  As Senator, he embraced the amnesty cause and became a charter member of the disastrous 2013 “Gang of Eight” amnesty group who helped arm the Benghazi rebels.

Paul Ryan joined the board of Fox News in early 2019.

Pence is a man who covers his true personality with a veneer of niceness…you never see the real Mike Pence, a man who along with his wife plans a cunning strategy for every event.

His “kindly pose” is so practiced that he looks like a man whose face will never crack an honest to goodness smile.  He’s spent a lifetime learning to avoid offense and in doing so has become an empty suit.  No one has ever profiled him in depth…Pence has always been recognized for his demeanor and not his accomplishments of which there truly are none.

Despite presenting himself as a deeply moral man, the reality belies this front.  His record shows a ruthlessness and comfort with aggression that contradicts his religious pose.

Pence claimed Charles Colson as his mentor.  Colson was a convicted Watergate conspirator who allegedly wrote an enemies list for President Nixon and proposed firebombing a Washington think tank in order to obtain documents it held.

Colson supposedly had a religious conversion, but is that what drew Pence, or was it Colson’s aggressive tendencies?  Pence has immense ambition and his wife Karen is fully behind him.

Many people do not give credence to Pence’s religiosity, believing it is just another way to justify his ambition.  He failed as a conservative member of Congress for twelve years, he failed miserably as Governor of Indiana for one term, and he also failed as a loyal vice president.

Early Years

After graduation, Pence applied to Indiana University’s law school, but failed the admissions test.  Two years later, after intense study, he passed the test.  He hated his law classes however and said it was a “bad experience.”  While in Indianapolis, he met Karen Batten Whitaker at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.  They were married in June of 1985.

Karen Pence is two years older than her husband, and was previously married to a med student. Her ex-husband, Dr. Steve Whitaker, became a drug company executive responsible in part for the development of the erectile dysfunction drug Cialis.

Mike graduated from law school in 1986 and he was ready to follow his political ambitions and Karen was there to help. She was Mike’s advisor and they campaigned together for his congressional seat by riding their bicycles through the district and wearing Pence for Congress t-shirts. Pence tied himself to popular politicians of the state, Senator Richard Lugar and Dan Quayle, but Democrat Congressman Phillip Sharp defeated Pence in 1988 and 1990.  During those years, Karen taught school and Mike became an Indiana radio celebrity who was referred to as the decaf Rush Limbaugh.

Congressman Sharp retired and was succeeded in 1994 by Republican David M. McIntosh who served three terms in Congress and ended up in trouble with the House ethics committee. McIntosh and Pence were close friends and when McIntosh decided to run for Governor in 2000, he urged Pence to campaign for the vacant congressional seat, which he won. McIntosh lost the race for governor, but in 2014, he became the head of Club for Growth who spent $2 million to defeat Donald Trump.  (McIntosh was also a co-founder of the Federalist Society.)

Pence had many advisors throughout his political years and they followed him into the Vice Presidency, but always present in every Pence office was the “red phone.” That red phone was only used for calls from Karen Pence and when asked what it was for by a fellow congressman, he said, “Mrs. Pence is the only one who has the number, not anyone on staff.  She occasionally shares it with the kids, but when this phone rings, I answer it.”  It’s a known fact that if anyone wanted to get to Mike Pence, they had to go through Karen first; she was the gatekeeper and Mike’s top advisor.

Indiana Governor

When Mike Pence ran for Indiana Governor in 2012 and won, Karen was installed in an office across the hall from her husband.  Again, the red phone was on Mike’s desk, and although his top advisor was just across the atrium, she only used the phone to talk to him.  And she, not Mike, was the new sheriff in town as she set down rules for the Governor’s visitors.  Their work hours were kept short and they left early to be home by 5:30 for dinner.

Indiana’s disappointment with the governor was evident.  The Indiana mothers who ignited the national rebellion against Common Core were wondering why Governor Pence betrayed their trust.  He took credit for repealing Common Core in Indiana when in fact he merely replaced it with a rebranded version of the same standards — actually, standards that might be even worse.  Link

The Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) was watered down by Pence when Eli Lilly and others threatened to leave Indiana if Pence didn’t add an amendment to the bill to ban discrimination based on sexual orientation.  Nearly a dozen LGBTQ and civil-rights groups sent an open letter to Pence asking him to fix RFRA.  When Pence caved, conservative support evaporated.

When President Trump threatened to overturn President Obama’s EO protecting LGBTQ federal contractors from discrimination, Mike Pence joined with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner in urging the president to support the rights of the LGBTQ community.

Chosen VP

The beginning of this four-year VP Pence charade goes back to his initial investiture in politics and his ultimate goals.  Pence knew his chances of being elected for a second term as Governor of Indiana were miniscule and falling.  When Trump and his entourage came calling, Pence willingly opened the door and became the toady sycophant vice presidential candidate always gazing approvingly at Donald J. Trump.  Behind the scenes he quietly plotted with wife Karen at his side.

Allegedly, Rick Gates and Paul Manafort had convinced Trump to take Mike Pence in order to cement the Midwest and garner evangelicals. The Indiana Hoosiers couldn’t stand the guy after four years of his weak leadership and caving to every threat from the left. Trump thought Pence smelled like a loser and wanted someone stronger.  He was right!  Pence has always been a loser.  Pence had endorsed Ted Cruz, but he wanted a chance at the presidency and Trump opened the door.

Two others had been under consideration, former Governor Chris Christie (Abu Christie who put a Muslim on the New Jersey Supreme Court) and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (an Alvin and Heidi Toffler acolyte since the 70s who believes the US Constitution and property rights should be eliminated); Newt was heavily promoted by Fox’s Sean Hannity.  Allegedly both Ivanka and Melania Trump wanted Pence.  All three VP choices were as LBJ to Kennedy and H. W. Bush to Reagan.  If only Trump had chosen someone like General Michael Flynn, a brilliant patriot who loves his country and her people.

Establishment Lauds Pence

Members of the Republican establishment have lauded Pence for his experience and his solid credentials.  Governor Pence endorsed Dominionist Ted Cruz in the 2016 Republican primaries, and has been praised by Paul Ryan, who has described him a “personal friend” and a “movement conservative,” whatever that is.

Congressman Louie Gohmert revealed that Ryan had encouraged GOP House members to campaign against President Trump in 2016.  Watch this 90 second video with Congressman Gohmert.  Now we find out that Ryan and his Chief of Staff John Burks were both involved in pushing the fake Steele Russian dossier.

Pence has no problem with this as he toed the neo-con party line in Congress.

  • Pence’s congressional votes were weak and he only received a 62% freedom index, the same as John McCain’s. Link
  • Pence stated, “Trade means jobs but trade also means security. The time has come for all of us to urge the swift adoption of the Trans-Pacific Partnership.”
  • “Calls to ban Muslims from entering the US are offensive and unconstitutional.” Link
  • Pence strongly denounced Trump’s proposal to close the US borders to Muslim refugees. Link

Trump and Pence were always misaligned politically; their stances were opposite on so many issues.  Yet, Pence always mustered a devotional gaze, not seen since the likes of Nancy Reagan.

Loyalty

Let’s go back to the day Pence was chosen as Trump’s running mate, and to the early campaign.  The choice was obviously made to garner Pence’s former congressional friends into aiding Mr. Trump’s agenda, although that never worked out as hoped.

  • Governor Pence pulled his name from the governor’s race in Indiana before Trump had a chance to announce him, resulting in the Indianapolis Starcatching wind of it and announcing his nomination before the President.
  • Pence’s endorsementof Paul Ryan, John McCain, Kelly Ayotte, and other leftist Republicans was done prior to Trump’s forced endorsements.
  • When Trump’s recorded and edited Access Hollywood locker room chat with Billy Bush came out, Pence stated his disapprovalas though Pence was so pure that he had never uttered trash talk, and he hid away. Karen Pence was reportedly “disgusted” after watching Donald Trump’s 2005 “Access Hollywood” tape and called the president “reprehensible” and “vile.”

Billy Bush is the first cousin of George W. Bush, Jeb Bush, Neil Bush, Marvin and Dorothy, and the nephew of George H. W. Bush, and we know they hated Trump and voted for Hillary.

Paul Ryan was allegedly linked to the release of that tape in an effort to destroy Trump’s campaign.

The media wanted Trump to drop out and Pence to take the lead with Ryan as VP.  The latter two actually plotted this coup until Trump handily won his second debate.

  • Trump’s two top establishment globalists, Pence and Priebus supported getting rid of Lt. General Mike Flynn after they claimed he misled his colleagues about conversations with the Russian ambassador. The willingness to throw Flynn under the bus was planned and executed by the Deep State. The president’s first and most damaging blunder was believing Mike Pence and asking for the General’s resignation.
  • VP Pence’s former Chief of Staff was Josh Pitcock whose wife, Katherine Seaman, had been working with FBI Agent Peter Strzok on the FBI’s counter-intelligence investigation of Hillary Clinton’s email server. Strzok had texted to Lisa Page, “If Katie’s husband is there, he can see if there are people we can develop for potential relationships.”  Obviously, he was talking about Katherine Seaman and her husband, Josh Pitcock, a possible backdoor inside the administration.

Loyalty is a noble trait and one that is coveted by leaders, but our 45th President never saw many faithful and devoted Republicans, either in Congress or in his administration.  After Chris Christie was ousted, the president appointed Mike Pence to bring in valuable people.  All of them were establishment globalists and friends or supporters of Mike Pence.  Only Education Secretary Betsy DeVos lasted, and she resigned before Trump left office in protest of January 6th.  The establishment sewer rats did everything they could to stop President Trump from destroying their globalist goals.

Unfortunately, Trump’s failure was not hiring outside the swamp and seeing clearly who his enemies were and eliminating them quickly.

This appeared to be another solid win for President Trump in a swing state he won in 2016. The ballot counting in Detroit, Michigan on election night took place at the TCF Center, formerly known as Cobo Hall.

Then late at night, a string of suspicious events changed the momentum for the Trump Team. GOP observers later testified that at 3:30 AM in the morning vehicles drove into the TCF Center and delivered fraudulent ballots for Joe Biden.

Changing the subject…

I have been writing at Refugee Resettlement Watch since July of 2007 except for a few months after the speech police got me deplatformed, but I think I have done all I can do for you who live in communities that are refugee resettlement sites, or soon will be.

This morning I spent all of my writing time on this post.

The gist of it is this:

You must organize locally to save your communities from those who are changing your towns and cities politically, culturally, demographically. 

Trump can’t save you (us)!  Although if he returns to political life the best thing he could do would be to create America First grassroots chapters in every county in America with a first order of business straightening out the local board of elections!

Your governors are mostly useless as they are in cahoots with big business looking for cheap labor.

Your Members of Congress, even most Republicans, are in the pocket of the Chamber of Commerce and they are scared to death of being labelled racists for opposing the “good” people, the phony humanitarians, in charge of the refugee agencies.

You might have some hope with your state legislators, but it is now up to you to find out what is happening locally, get involved, speak up, get organized and maybe even run for local political office.   Yes, hard and boring work.

It is more fun and might make us feel good to yak about tyranny and unfairness among ourselves, but it is a waste of time.

And, so what if you are well-read on the cutting issues of the day and have tens of thousands of Twitter or Facebook followers—it will not stop the Socialist Democrat juggernaut working incrementally to control your local community or state.

Remember Obama’s community organizing!  They have been working for decades at that level and you have a lot of catching up to do.

Why Flying Our Flag Upside Down is NOT Illegal nor Insulting to our National Colors

The following are just some of the reasons we have reached that point where flying the American flag upside down is necessary as a symbol of national distress.

  1. FBI ordered to vet 25K national guardsmen because Biden Admin thinks there may be “white supremacists” or “right wing extremists” among them planning an attack.  Based on what?  1 NG guy from NJ found inside Capital building and one female Air Force vet shot to death inside capital building on Jan. 6th, 2021 inferring the entire military are potential insurrectionists?
  2. SOD orders entire military to stand down for 60 days to investigate for any extremists (and then what, court martial them?)
  3. Department Homeland Security ordered to look for people and groups that have contrarian views (e.g. conservatives) to the Biden Admin ideology and charge them as “domestic terrorists” – note under the unconstitutional Patriot Act a US citizen deemed to be a “domestic terrorist” even just because he/she has a different world view or thinks differently or opposes socialism can be arrested and imprisoned without Due Process and confined “indefinitely”.
  4. Biden has ordered all immigration laws be ignored e.g. stop deportations, let 14K detainees free, stop wall construction, let illegals across our borders which will include, violent gang members, murderers, drug traffickers, human traffickers, foreign terrorists etc.  – is this not a national security issue?
  5. Biden has reversed the Trump order that no federal (e.g. tax payer) $ flow to Sanctuary Cities which have been hotbeds of illegal alien criminal activities.
  6. Biden lifted the ban on transgenders in the military which allows mentally ill people to enter the military and have sex change operations at taxpayer expense.
  7. Biden has ordered the wearing of masks on all federal property and lands – so what does this mean for servicemembers training on federal lands?
  8. Biden has ordered the fed govt to “pursue a comprehensive approach to advancing equity for all with respect to race, ethnicity, religion, income, geography, gender identity, sexual orientation and disability” – can you imagine what this is going to do to military personnel policies including promotion system and policies ?  Also military pay.
  9. Biden has revoked Trump’s travel ban on nations with individuals posing a terrorist threat to the US.
  10. Biden is taking advice from and putting members of the Chinese Communist Party into key govt. positions and sure as hell has personally profited from millions $ provided him and his family from the Chicoms and the Russians.  Is this someone we want as our Commander-In-Chief.  I’m sure many, like me, who fought against communism putting ourselves in harm’s way  for so many years of our military careers are now exasperated at what has come to pass.

And the rush to socialism goes on –  if these actions in only the first two weeks don’t pose a threat to U.S. national security and our military readiness then I don’t know what does and this is only the tip of the iceberg.

For every military veteran who opposes this symbolism of flying our flag upside down, I’d bet anyone a six pack of their favorite beverage. Their are two currently flying their flags upside in a legal display of their first amendment rights.  There are no laws, ordinances, codes or even protocols that restrict this – if there were then why can people burn, stomp on, walk on, spit on, drag on ground, put in toilets full of urine and crap as displays of art, etc. etc. and get away with it.  It is a leftist propaganda fear tactic to tell folks they will be arrested if they fly their flags upside down.

By the way, any veteran who opposes flying our national colors upside down but watches NBA games or watched the Super Bowl on Sunday should look inward at the hypocrisy of supporting prima donna millionaires who think our flag and national anthem are symbols of “oppression” but criticize those vets who see flying the flag upside down as a symbol against our country becoming a socialist/communist state.

Remember what Benjamin Franklin wrote, “ “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”

Tampa, Florida — President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden got booed during their video appearance at the Super Bowl LV in Tampa Florida on Sunday. In a pre-recorded video message, the Bidens talked about social distancing and the lives that have been lost during the pandemic, followed by a moment of silence. While the video was played on big screens just before kickoff, it sounded like people were booing.

Everyone knows the election was stolen.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis keeps door open on 2024 presidential run

Watch the peerless Governor Ron DeSantis in his pre-Super Bowl interview. Can you imagine President Biden on the debate stage against this man? Governor DeSantis’ performance in Florida has been so outstanding, that it is becoming difficult to imagine not supporting him in 2024. He has everything you can possibly want in an effective candidate. He can also provide a real life contrast to the pro-lockdown Biden Administration.

Let’s see how President Biden contrasts his pro-lockdown policies with Governor DeSantis’ pro-freedom policies, that have much of the Northeast flocking to Florida.

Ron DeSantis keeps door open on 2024 presidential run

Gov. Ron DeSantis showed up on Fox and Friends Sunday and found himself for the second time in recent days addressing 2024 Presidential speculation.

The Governor did not close the door on the race in 2024, but as he did when asked late last week, the Governor will not say no to a run that would happen at the beginning of his second term, should he be reelected in 2022.

When host Will Cain asked DeSantis if he was going to take the 2024 plunge, the Governor laughed theatrically.

“We’ve got a great Governor’s election in 2022, which will be very important for our state and quite frankly I think, uh, you know, it gives us the ability to keep the momentum going, so that’s what we’re focused on.”

When asked if that was a no, the Governor demurred.

“That’s a ‘we have 2022 to worry about’,” the Governor said.

Indeed, the Governor is positioning himself nicely for whatever may come in the Governor’s race next year, with $9.5 million in his Friends of Ron DeSantis political committee. Though he has said that he doesn’t poll, allies do: the Florida Chamber of Commerce, as we reported on Jan. 29, had the Governor at 54% approval in its most recent canvass of the state.

Whether he’s running to serve the full four years is another matter, however, as enthusiasts in the conservative media continue to urge him toward the 2024 starting line. A recent Newsmax appearance saw the Governor address head on “speculation” that he would run for President.

As with the Newsmax hit, which allowed DeSantis to compare his leadership style favorably to that of other Republicans, the Fox News spot (purportedly “cohosting” a Super Bowl pregame segment) allowed him to go far afield of the action tonight at Raymond James Stadium.

Familiar tropes, such as maunderings about the left-liberal “partisan agenda” and narratives of the “corporate elite media” and Democratic-run “dystopias,” filled more of the segment than the Governor’s commentary on the Super Bowl, which he still sees as a Tampa Bay Buccaneers win.

Section 230, a provision in the Communications Decency Act, currently protects social media companies from liability in relation to content posted on their platforms by third parties

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced his office is working with State Sen. Bryan Hughes, R-Mineola, on legislation that would “prevent social media providers like Facebook & Twitter from canceling conservative speech.”

“We filed a bill about this during the last session two years ago, it passed the Senate did not make it through the House,” Hughes told WFAA’s Inside Texas Politics in an interview on Sunday. “So the bill we’re getting ready to file will say that if a company discriminates against you, deplatforms you, blocks you, kicks you off based on your viewpoint, based on your politics, your religion, based on viewpoint discrimination, it will give you a way to get back online.”

HOW BIG TECH GOT EVEN BIGGER

According to Hughes, the previous bill looked at different options for how users can bring discrimination lawsuits against the social media giants.

“What we would like to do is to give any Texan who’s being discriminated against, the option to bring an action and we think that will get Facebook’s attention, get Twitter’s attention, and cause them to start treating Texans fairly,” Hughes added.

A spokesperson for Twitter declined to comment while representatives for Facebook, Abbott, and Hughes did not immediately return FOX Business’ request for comment.

Hughes and Abbott are not the only government officials seeking to hold big tech accountable for actions on their platforms.

Democratic Sens. Mark Warner, a former tech entrepreneur from Virginia, Mazie Hirono of Hawaii and Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota have recently introduced the Safeguarding Against Fraud, Exploitation, Threats, Extremism and Consumer Harms Act (SAFE TECH Act), which would aim to mitigate harmful content currently protected by Section 230.

Section 230 is a provision in the Communications Decency Act which shields social media companies from liability in relation to content posted on their platforms by third parties.

“An original impetus for Section 230 was a state court ruling in 1995 that many consider flawed (and unlikely to have been adopted more broadly), holding an online bulletin board was liable for a user’s defamatory post because it moderated some content and had established content guidelines – signifying editorial control,” the senators wrote. “Section 230 provides “interactive computer services” with immunity from liability for the content of their users. And – reversing the poorly-reasoned 1995 case – ensures that these providers retain this broad immunity even when they engage in moderation efforts of user content.”

The proposed law would end Section 230 protections for ads or paid content, allow victims to seek court orders that would force Big Tech to crack down on misuse, and allow platforms to be sued in a number of situations where they are currently immune.

“Section 230 has provided a ‘Get Out of Jail Free’ card to the largest platform companies even as their sites are used by scam artists, harassers, and violent extremists to cause damage and injury,” Warner said in a statement.

However, the bill stops short of repealing Section 230 altogether, as some critics have called for, including both former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden.

“How [Big Tech companies] operate has a real-life effect on the safety and civil rights of Americans and people around the world, as well as our democracy,” Klobuchar added. “Holding these platforms accountable for ads and content that can lead to real-world harm is critical, and this legislation will do just that.”

Now that President Trump’s term has ended and he is a private citizen, the impeachment articles are irrelevant, and the case is moot. The U.S. Constitution limits impeachment jurisdiction to the current president, vice president and sitting federal civil office holders. Additionally, the Constitution prescribes a punishment that shall not go beyond removal from office with the possibility of being disqualified from holding office in the future. Since President Trump no longer holds office, the penalty if convicted is meaningless. It’s politics at its worst and will only serve to further divide our nation (Townhall).

No, We Don’t Need a ‘Reality-Czar’: Let Truth and Falsehood Grapple

It is hard to see how Americans’ well-being would be advanced by a ‘reality czar.”

New York Times writer Kevin Roose recently surveyed “our truth-challenged information ecosystem” and found a proliferation of “hoaxes, lies and collective delusions.” As he put it, that limits the Biden administration’s ability to “unite a country,” because “millions of people have chosen to create their own version of reality.” In response, he called for the creation of a “reality czar”-led government task force to root out disinformation.

Roose admits such a call for a “truth commission” sounds “dystopian,” before proceeding to ignore many ways it would be exactly that. For instance, the Times, the Biden campaign, the Democrat leadership, and others on board with the idea have come nowhere close to pursuing “the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.” Yet despite a history of disseminating misinformation, clear biases, and suppression of those with different views, they would select the arbiters of Orwellian truth.

So who could be trusted as the reality czar? No one.

Just ask Democrats why they never suggested having one when Trump was in office. In politics, truth is subservient to power. But since any attempt to provably establish the truth would be littered with obstacles and controversies, and often beyond possibility, while creating a substantial threat to Americans’ freedoms, only someone who was indisputably committed to both truth and freedom could possibly be trusted to lead such an enterprise. And there are precious few who would qualify. If he wasn’t long dead, I would nominate John Milton.

Why Milton?

Before America’s founding, he argued for freedoms of speech and the press, and against censorship, in England. His defense of freedom of conscience later powerfully resonated with America’s founders, reflected in our First Amendment. So it is worth considering the principles he would follow to establish truth and preserve freedom, in his own words.

  1. If it come to prohibiting, there is aught more likely to be prohibited than truth itself.
  2. Truth and understanding are not such wares as to be monopolized.
  3. When complaints are freely heard, deeply considered, and speedily reformed, then is the utmost bound of civil liberty obtained that wise men look for.
  4. Give me the liberty to know, to utter, and to argue freely according to conscience, above all liberties.
  5. Truth…Let her and falsehood grapple.
  6. Who ever knew Truth put to the worse in a free and open encounter?
  7. Truth…needs no policies or stratagems…to make her victorious. These are the shifts and the defenses that error uses against her power.
  8. There is no learned man but will confess be hath much profited by reading controversies–his senses awakened, his judgment sharpened, and the truth which he holds firmly established…should it not at least be tolerable and free for his adversary to write…it follows then, that all controversy being permitted, falsehood will appear more false, and truth the more true; which must needs conduce much to the general confirmation of an implicit truth.
  9. Discern…in what things persuasion only is to work.
  10. No institution which does not continually test its ideals, techniques and measure of accomplishment can claim real vitality.
  11. Liberty hath a sharp and double edge, fit only to be handled by just and virtuous men; to bad and dissolute, it becomes a mischief unwieldy in their own hands: neither is it completely given, but by them who have the happy skill to know what is grievance and unjust to a people, and how to remove it wisely; what good laws are wanting, and how to frame them substantially, that good men may enjoy the freedom which they merit, and the bad the curb which they need.
  12. None can love freedom but good men; the rest love not freedom, but license, which never hath more scope than under tyrants.
  13. How oft [have] nations gone corrupt…by their own devices brought down to servitude.
  14. What do terms…which are at once corrupt and misapplied, denote but a people…ripe for servitude?
  15. Is it just or reasonable, that…voices against the main end of government should enslave [those] that would be free?
  16. They who seek nothing but their own just liberty, have always right to win it and to keep it…be the voices ever so numerous that oppose it.

In addition, Milton would have some other important qualifications in evaluating reality. He would not be misled by government promises that threaten the rights that comprise our liberty, just because the government doesn’t mention that fact.

Similarly, when benefit promises far out-weigh promised exactions from citizens, he would recognize that they are omitting some of the truth. As one of history’s most important poets, he would have expertise in what should be considered poetic license. As the second most important author in the English language, after Shakespeare, he would certainly also be alert to the abuse of language not in pursuit of truth, but of power over others. Just some of the words that have had their meanings warped are unity, we, rights, freedom, fair, justice, social, capitalism, need, and greed. And there has been plenty of added word twisting recently, with insurrection being near the top of the list.

It is obvious that discussing John Milton as a reality or truth czar is not a serious proposal. But that discussion reveals the position’s necessary requirements of the love of truth and the love of freedom our country was founded on.

Further, it shows that anyone fully meeting those requirements, if given the task, would find a great deal about the positions, promises and policies of those who appointed them both untrue and unworthy of freedom.

Consequently, no such czar would ever be appointed. And it is hard to see how Americans’ well-being would be advanced by anyone less trustworthy for the job.

New president is making his space policy increasingly clear: America will remain grounded for the time being

The United States is in a titanic struggle with the People’s Republic of China for the dominance of space.

Although the Americans have been to the moon and sent multiple, advanced probes to the surface of Mars, since the end of the Cold War, U.S. space policy has languished in neutral. Due to this, new competitors, namely China, have arisen to challenge the dominance of the Americans in the ultimate strategic high ground of space.

China has grand ambitions for space. Not only does China plan on beating the Americans to the Martian surface by the end of the decade, but Beijing wants control of the vital orbits around the Earth. By controlling these orbits, China’s military would enjoy significant advantages over the American military. Beyond that, China plans on strip-mining the moon for valuable resources.

The Americans, though, have always had a silver bullet in its competition with China for space dominance: a vibrant and innovative private sector. Specifically, the growing number of private space start-ups, such as Elon Musk’s SpaceX.

Thanks to his reusable rocket design, Mr. Musk’s company has already cut down on launch costs by a staggering 40 percent. SpaceX insists that it can cut those costs down further. What’s more, SpaceX rockets are entirely indigenously produced. And as the ongoing race to Mars between the United States and China intensifies, Mr. Musk’s new deep space reusable rocket Starship, might just be the vehicle that gets American astronauts to Mars before China can get its taikonauts to the Red Planet.

Certainly, the Starship reusable rocket is unproven. In another America, this experimental craft would elicit wonder and its development would be encouraged. The Trump administration exhorted SpaceX to vigorously move ahead with its Starship program.

The United States, however, has a new president. And President Joe Biden is making his space policy preferences increasingly clear: America will remain grounded for the time being.

The FAA did not cite its reasoning behind ordering the cancellation of the launch. Many have speculated that the cancellation was brought about due to safety concerns. After all, in December 2020, SpaceX did a test of the experimental rocket. The Starship prototype made it to a height of 41,000 feet. Once it reoriented itself, in order to allow for the rocket to land vertically, the great silver spacecraft promptly did a bellyflop that ended in a massive explosion.

Despite this, SpaceX learned many valuable lessons from the December failure that were to be applied to the Starship launch in January. In science, the only lasting failure occurs when one does not test a new idea or hypothesis. This axiom is especially true in the context of the new space race between the United States and China.

It’s likely that the FAA’s decision to cancel the launch is part of a wider Biden administration effort undo the Trump administration’s vibrant space policy. Plus, former President Trump’s space vision was explicitly aimed at countering advances made by China in space. It is unlikely that the Biden administration seeks to continue that policy, as the Biden team attempts to stabilize deteriorating relations with Beijing over the next few years.

THE PROBLEM WITH MAINSTREAM MEDIA: Is The Stream Being Poisoned?

I understand the concern of many in traditional newspaper journalism about the unfair advantage that social media has when earning advertising revenue from free content generated by traditional media which has to pay its journalists. However, the mainstream media needs to look in the mirror to see if perhaps its bias and political and cultural positions are driving away readers, who move to social media precisely because the mainstream media content has become so one-sided. A good example is a recent story by The Canadian Press carried by many Canadian newspapers. Entitled “Domestic terrorism a growing U.S. threat”.

The article is accompanied by a photo showing Trump supporters waiving American flags and suggests that “a dangerous and escalating threat of homegrown violent extremism (is) following last month’s riots on Capitol Hill.”

A counter-terrorism expert is quoted as saying that prior to the January 6th riots, terrorism was largely an international threat and afterword it became a domestic one. Elizabeth Neumann says she believes “that we will be fighting domestic terrorism that has its roots and inspiration points from January 6 for the next 10 to 20 years.” However, it is quite preposterous to argue that a riot by about one hundred people of so far unknown affiliation dwarfs the largely peaceful rally by hundreds of thousands of peaceful citizens, expressing their concerns about the fairness of election proceedings. We need to discuss what is “domestic terrorism” and what is the danger in including in the concept only right wing riots, when all summer long, Americans were subject to horrific Black Lives Matter and Antifa destruction of the downtowns of large American cities, destroying small businesses. In Seattle the BLM and Antifa terrorists even set up what they called a sovereign territory. Such terrorism, including an attack and burning of a police station was largely tolerated by authorities, who were too fearful to adequately police these vast riots. The article referred to above does not even mention these summer riots when it comes to discussing domestic terrorism Why is that? And is there something wrong with the reporting of mainstream media?

In large part this is because media has a bias in favour of left wing terrorists and is all too willing to exaggerate the threats from right-wing terrorists. Compare the numbers, the violent tactics, and the influence of the BLM and Antifa rioters with any right-wing organization. I would suggest that there is no moral or political equivalency between Qanon and the Proud Boys on one side and BLM and Antifa on the other. Kamala Harris cheered on BLM as did other Democrats. The Democrats feature 4 younger politicians who call themselves the “Squad”. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar have made anti-Semitic anti-Israel statements and Ayanna Pressley has backed violent protests. Omar, quite soon after her election as a congresswoman, refused to retract anti-Semitic comments and Nancy Pelosi, Majority House Leader, despite pressure to discipline her, refused to take any action and Omar continues on the Foreign Affairs Committee. There are other Democrats who also can be categorized as far Left-wing, such as Bernie Sanders and Raphael Warnock, but the mainstream media obsess unduly on the marginalized right-wing groups, even though they are tiny.

Such right-wing groups of course owe whatever allegiance they have to media and Democratic party political attacks on moderate Conservatives, calling them “deplorables” who cling to their Bibles and guns. That is because such allegations seek to disenfranchise the moderate heartland. The result is that many are driven to extremist language as a consequence.

So, while many Democrats support far left personalities, few if any Republicans endorse far-right activists. The only exception might be Marjory Taylor Green, who was by bi-partisan efforts removed from her committee duties due to unacceptable comments made prior to running from office. Yet the Democrats refused to disassociate themselves in any way from the said Ms. Omar.

Conservatives who read mainstream media are faced with articles that are less news than opinion. Conservative readers were aware that election laws were changed to benefit the Democrats by allowing mail-in voting and during the election day itself Republican monitors were prevented from getting close to the ballots they were supposed to observe. Republicans, were not happy when news stories assumed, without due factual proof, that Republican complaints were “unsubstantiated.” And then, with the exception of the New York Post and Fox News, all mainstream media refused to cover the Joe and Hunter Biden story, despite documentary evidence of their conflict of interest between their business interests in China and Ukraine and Joe’s duty as Vice-President and now President. The media kept quiet about documentary and video evidence provided by former business partner Tony Bobolinsky, a most reputable gentleman.

The mainstream media became fond of calling President Trump and some of his right-wing supporters “authoritarian” However, under the guise of fighting the Coronavirus, it is the mainstream that supports lockdown, quarantines and potentially the need to show official documents before traveling from one state or province to another, where lockdowns and quarantines will take us somewhere truly authoritarian. More right-wingers are libertarian and prefer limited government powers, but we should note that the mainstream media is on the side of big and powerful Government with power to restrict free speech, and grant entry to undocumented aliens with criminal pasts.

Conservatives feel the game is stacked against them when big tech Oligarchs like the owners of Facebook, Twitter, and Google censor their comments. Abusing their privilege as a supposed non-journalistic “platform” to control the public’s ability to get unbiased information, is another way that the collusion between big tech and media and big corporations leaves conservatives feeling shunned and censored, driving them ever farther rightward – when such matters as the unsuccessful Russian collusion Special Investigation, the hopeless impeachment proceeding and the apparent criminality of false FISA applications, obstruction of justice in the destruction of cellphones and computers, showed it is the Democrats who are threats to the Rule of Law, and not so much President Trump. Chuck Schumer, Adam Schiff and Gerry Nadler can be seen to have been too successful in their manipulations, for their own good.

Just this week, Fox fired longtime conservative television host Lou Dobbs and this further moves Fox away from alternative conservative media and towards “mainstream media.”

The mainstream stream has dried up, another result of cultural relativism, political correctness and cancel culture; “mainstream” is defined as “the ideas, attitudes, or activities that are regarded as normal or conventional; the dominant trend in opinion, fashion, or the arts.” I do not regard this relativism, cancel culture, anti-Israel antisemitism and hatred of anything conservative to be “normal.” It is abnormal. Accordingly, the mainstream is dead, so those who try to ride the “dominant” views and have shunned me or my authors at Mantua Books can have their mainstream. Nearly half of all Americans voted for President Trump who is hated by most of the mainstream media. Such voters know that the mainstream media represents mainly the views of the Swamp, the Deep State, anti-liberal academics and bureaucrats and socialist NGOs.

Cambridge Dictionary defines “mainstream media” as those “forms of the media especially traditional forms such as newspapers, television and radio, rather than the internet, that influence large numbers of people and are likely to represent generally accepted beliefs and opinion.

If the mainstream media is supposed to represent “generally accepted beliefs”, today’s mainstream is deficient for rejecting such traditional beliefs as:

  • freedom of expression
  • the constitutional right to bear arms
  • not taking the life of a baby during pregnancy when such is a viable life.
  • limited government
  • support for the right of Israeli Jews not to be murdered by terroristic neighbours whose education system brainwashes children to murder
  • Iran is a terrorist supporting regime that admits it wants to use a nuclear bomb on Israel and foments war in Syria, Iraq and Yemen
  • China is not a friendly country and so breaches fundamental human rights that trading with China should be understood as supporting an evil regime.
  • self-sufficiency in energy is important for the U.S. and alternate producers of energy create as much if not more pollution than oil pipelines.
  • critical race theory is counter-productive to Blacks and is itself racist
  • biological men should not compete in women’s sports
  • all cultures are not equal, as cultures based on freedom and liberty are superior to cultures of hate, misogyny and abuse, which are inferior
  • Judeo-Christian ethics

And so, as mainstream media pleads its case for special compensation from internet platforms taking its content, we should use the opportunity to confront mainstream media. We should demand that mainstream media stick to its mission of fair journalism, emphasizing “normal” and “conventional” ideas, and “generally accepted beliefs and opinion”. If the mainstream is a poisoned stream, it will be detrimental to our liberal democracy.

Many patriots, Catholics, and others of goodwill are looking around the country and scratching their heads saying, “How did the commies seize power in the United States?”

Overcoming America did not happen in a day or even a couple of decades. It was, as the commies correctly note, the result of a “long march through the institutions.” It was a coordinated attack against foundational principles, through the foundational institutions, with the destruction of the family as the goal.

The family is the building block of any civilization, and without it, nothing else can long endure. So institutions that helped form family, support family, advance family had to be eaten away at — slowly at first, but gradually picking up speed. There are many dynamics we can talk about here — the taking over of the media, education, the courts and so forth.

One we would like to concentrate on here is the invasion of Christian morality, first through Protestant denominations and eventually Catholicism. The Christian faith had served as a kind of moral cement since the nation’s founding, keeping passions relatively in check and allowing for the family to flourish, at least relative to the miserable situation family life finds itself in today.

At the heart of the attack against Christianity was the eugenicist movement of the late 19th and early 20th century. The rich global-minded elites wanted to control the world and limit population growth among the peasant classes, who were seen as undesirable. The central group going after the family was, oddly enough, the family of the Rockefellers, long time believers in controlling the world population.

With their billions, they funded the burgeoning birth control movement spearheaded by Marie Stopes in the United Kingdom and Margaret Sanger here in the United States. Both women, but especially Sanger, were massive racists; so much, in fact, that the woke culture finally caught up to Planned Parenthood, forcing them to rename their highest award, dropping the name Sanger from it.

The movement targeted Christianity in general, but specifically the Church of England, the Anglicans, to get them to accept birth control as moral. Two attempts failed in 1910 and again in 1920. But in 1930, at the Lambeth Conference, Anglican leaders finally caved in and declared that contraception in some limited form was moral and could be permitted.

This marked the first time in 2,000 years that any Christian group had accepted the moral evil of contraception. Even Martin Luther had virulently condemned birth control. It provoked an almost immediate response from the Vatican, one declaring that Christian morality has held from the very beginnings that birth control is always a grave evil, the only Christian faith that still teaches this truth.

One by one, Protestant congregations gave in and accepted birth control as compatible with the teachings of Christ — which it is not. This was a major victory for the Marxists. The Christian faith, which held society together, had now been dramatically weakened, especially since America was a predominantly Protestant nation.

It was not long after religious principles weakened that other institutions began to become unsettled. Various mainline Protestant denominations across the board began to become unmoored from Scripture, and since many of them ran or were strongly aligned with the nation’s most prestigious colleges, they too began a leftward lurch.

Those universities produced the next generation of cultural and political leaders, who, having been formed in an anti-religious environment, began dismantling morality up and down the country. They got into law schools and made their way onto the courts, and, in the late 1960s, made contraception a “constitutional right,” based on a manufactured right to privacy (which then went on to become the basis for wholesale abortion and, eventually, homosexual marriage).

In the midst of all this, however, there was still the Catholic opposition to contraception, and Church Militant covered all this in an investigation we produced over 10 years ago called “Contraception Deception.”

The major force behind attacking the Catholic Church and trying to subvert her was Saul Alinsky, who wormed his way into influential Church circles over the issue of social justice — in essence, class warfare. That was the topic of another investigation we did years ago as well.

As things turned more Marxist in the United States as well as the Church, it became clear that communism was ascendant, especially with the silence of duplicitous bishops who were covering up their own sins of child rape of thousand of altar boys by homosexual priests and bishops.

These men sat silent as the political winds were shifting furiously and offered next to no aid at all, allowing their flocks to be overrun and ground up in the machinery of the Culture of Death as lay Catholics by the tens of millions succumbed to the propaganda of the Marxist Democrats, demonstrated by the overwhelming support they showed the child-killer-in-chief, Obama.

Obama was able to actually put together a coalition of so-called Catholics who aggressively campaigned for him and who attacked faithful Catholics as racists for opposing his anti-Catholic policies. It’s not over for three reasons:

  1. Donald J. Trump is not a quitter when the very existence of our Constitutional Republic is a stake.
  2. The 74+ million patriots who voted for him will not give up on America and the American Dream without a fight.
  3. The Democrats can’t let it go. They will continue to attack anyone, like Mike Lindell, who support the movement because they know that if they do the MAGA movement will win.

The big question is not if President Trump is in the fight to save America. The real question: Is the Republican Party in the fight at all or are they just joining the establishment elite Democrats in destroying America?

Sadly, so far they have been joining the elites against the American people.

He’s actually accurate. The reality is this movement isn’t over. All of the blood, sweat, and tears that you guys have all put into this thing is very much still alive and well. You see that. I mean, this is really a movement of the people, a movement against the establishment, a movement against the elite. The message comes as we haven’t heard much out of the former president in recent weeks, which is very likely strategic as he maintains silent running ahead of his sham second impeachment trial.

A lot of those things have been brewing for quite some time. And that’s why for me I’m still standing engaged and we’re going to get in there and fight to elect people who really represent the people—people like you who have gone through so much.

I know he’s still going to keep going. I know we’re up against a lot, we always have been, going to be in there making sure that we have people who truly represent what America is all about.

When I look at things that I put up on my social media that are totally objective or that are satire, one or the other, that [social media content] gets fact-checked so that they can use that to knock my platform, to prevent me from getting any kind of reach. I see that stuff on a daily basis, I don’t see that on the other side. I don’t see Joe Biden getting fact-checked when he said he’s not going to ban fracking when he bans fracking.

If there’s even a little bit of ambiguity they get the benefit of the doubt, whereas if there’s even a little bit, a modicum, something like I said, subjective, who’s to know what the fact checker’s thinking, but certainly I know what I’m thinking and I can come up with a parameter that makes everything correct but the fact-checkers can say that it falls outside of those lines.

Joe Biden, not one tweet—as many incorrect ones that they’ve put out—has been fact-checked. It’s truly sick.

Having seen a lot of footage of the so-called Capitol riot; of Antifa breaking the windows, of cops waving protestors into the building, of the Horned Guy vamping inside and others, including Dr Simone Gold walking daintily between the velvet ropes across the Capitol Rotunda, I was convinced that it was a patriotic protest that had been infiltrated by paid Antifa.

My assessment solidified during the following weeks, given the way the criminal government flogged the event like it was 9/11 Part Two. This, in order to finance a Chinese-style surveillance state out of the most dystopian Hollywood thriller. Not to mention the extravagant histrionics of Rashida Tlaib and AOC.

The criminal media has made conflicting claims that 4 or 5 people died in the violence at the Capitol and we’ve also heard that three of these deaths were basically due to heart disease. Something definitely has seemed off about these reports.

Still, I had held out the possibility that the point blank shooting of Ashli Babbitt, the Trump-supporting Air Force veteran was real but after seeing this video, I am convinced otherwise.

Cutting together the copious cellphone footage from the scene, Wooz News makes a very strong case that the shooting of Ashli Babbitt at the Capitol on January 6th was an Obama Era-style, super fake false flag shooting, staged entirely with crisis actors, fake blood and fake glass.

Greene Says Republican Votes Against Her Are a ‘Big Betrayal,’ May Cost Party Majority in 2022

Rep. Marjorie Greene (R-Ga.) said the Republicans who voted to strip her of committee posts on Feb. 4 committed a “big betrayal” and may cost the GOP the House majority in the 2022 election.

“There were 10 that voted for impeachment against President [Donald] Trump and they definitely paid the price. They heard from Republican voters. There were 11 that voted against me yesterday and that’s something that our leaders should be very upset about,” Greene told reporters during a press conference on Capitol Hill on Friday.

“Kevin McCarthy and the rest of the Republican Party is working hard on taking back the majority and when you have Republicans in the ranks voting against one of their own, opening the door for Democrats to go after every single Republican next, that really is a big betrayal and that could cost us the majority in ’22.”

Greene made the remarks the day after 11 Republicans joined the Democrats in the House to strip her of assignments to the House Budget Committee and the House Education and Labor Committee. Three of the 11 had also voted to impeach former President Trump: Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.), and Rep. John Katko (R-N.Y.).

“People are very angry. That’s all I heard from people all morning—furious about that,” Greene said. “I hope that my Republican colleagues really think about what they’ve done. I’m sure they’re gonna hear from their voters at home because the base is loyal to President Trump and the base has been very loyal to me and they’ve shown me that.”

The resolution stripping Greene of her posts did not cite the conduct for which she was being punished, but Greene has been accused of expressing interest in the QAnon conspiracy theory, which posits that a group of global elites are part of a cabal engaged in Satanism and pedophilia. Greene told reporters that she said and believed things that were wrong.

Greene said that the vote to strip her of committee assignments also stripped her district from representation in Congress. She nevertheless said she is “proud” to have been removed from the posts because they would have been a waste of her time because Democrats are in control of the House and the committees.

“They actually stripped my district of their voice. They stripped my voters of having representation to work for them,” Greene said.

The eight other Republicans who voted against Greene were Reps. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.), Carlos Gimenez (R-Fla.), Chris Jacobs (R-N.Y.), Young Kim (R-Calif.), Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.), Maria Elvira Salazar (R-Fla.), and Chris Smith (R-N.J.).
