You REALLY Want Federal Gun Control Intervention? Well, Here’s an Idea for You…

Word is that the Senate has the necessary votes for federal gun control legislation designed to, among other things, pressure states into instituting “red flag” laws. These measures are controversial because they involve suspending a person’s rights (i.e., seizing his weapons) without due process. Wherever you stand on them and federal firearms laws in principle, however, a simple fact is under-emphasized in this debate: Laws mean little if not enforced.

What’s more, they’re actually instruments of evil if only enforced to the degree where good people will comply.

Here’s another fact: Corresponding to the general unwillingness among left-wing district attorneys to punish criminals (who aren’t also political opponents), these officials, though claiming firearms are a plague, aren’t punishing most gun crimes. Odd, huh?

An archetypical example is Philadelphia D.A. Larry Krasner. His office withdrew or dismissed 65 percent of gun charges last year, up from 17 percent in 2015. This, along with his characteristic reluctance to hold miscreants to account, explains why the “City of Brotherly Love” had 559 murders in 2021 — an all time record. And, again, his misfeasance reflects that of left-wing prosecutors nationwide.

Thus, if there must be federal gun-oriented intervention (which I’m against), it’s obvious what it should be:

Make localities’ and/or states’ receipt of federal funds contingent upon their adequate enforcement of violent-crime laws — in particular, gun laws.

There you have it. Are you listening, Mitch McConnell?

Unlike what’s currently being proposed, this measure actually would make a difference. It’s not radical within the context of today’s governmental norms, either. After all, the current “bipartisan” gun bill provides “incentives” for states to implement red-flag laws; even more to the point, the Biden administration is apparently threatening to withhold school lunch money from districts that don’t effect the pseudo-elites’ MUSS (Made-up Sexual Status, aka “transgender”) agenda. Of course, using federal-funding retention as cudgel with which to impose Washington’s will has long been status quo.

I’ll reiterate that I don’t believe in such strong-arm tactics; in fact, the central government is meant to be a mere agent of the states and should get precious little tax money. But if the feds are going to call the tune with their pay-the-piper power, what better cause than compelling feckless localities to enforce the laws that really matter and save lives?

Earlier this month, more than 170 “big city mayors” met in Reno, Nevada, to kvetch about how they “fear sweeping gun limits are out of reach,” as The New York Times put it.

What misdirection.

What deflection.

What nerve.

What phonies.

Crime isn’t skyrocketing nationwide because firearm laws have changed (they haven’t), but because the law-enforcers have changed.

Enforcement of local laws makes far more sense than any one-size-fits-all policy, too, as crime is not an evenly distributed phenomenon. Consider that more than half of 2016’s murders occurred in just certain parts of two percent of our land’s counties, and 68 percent of the homicides were committed in only small pockets of five percent of the counties.

Oh, these would be exclusively, or almost all, Democrat areas.

In contrast and on average, “73 percent of counties in any given year had zero murders from 1977 to 2000,” reported Fox News in 2017. (These would generally be GOP areas.)

In other words, we don’t have a “gun problem.”

We have a Democrat population/governance problem.

What’s so disgusting about enacting more laws but not strictly enforcing those on the books, especially the important ones, is that only good people are affected. They tend to follow laws even when enforcement is lax and punishment for violation is minimal; miscreants won’t without the threat of Draconian measures.

So ponder the vicious circle here:

  • You don’t enforce just laws.
  • Crime consequently proliferates.
  • There’s then a drumbeat for more laws, which take away good people’s freedom but also won’t be enforced on evildoers.
  • Crime then rises further leading to a call for even more laws, and, well….

You get the idea. Wash, rinse, repeat — and soon few freedoms remain. Of course, were you conspiracy minded (perish the thought), you might fancy this the whole point of this seemingly pointless exercise.

As for you politicians, federal and otherwise, focus on enforcing existing laws or forever hold your peace. ’Cause with the way your pet criminals are running wild, a good citizen certainly has to hold his piece.

Red Flag Laws now in the U.S. Senate

Sens. Rick Scott (R-FL), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Pat Toomey (R-PA), and Bill Cassidy (R-LA) attended the initial discussions that started on Thursday. As governor of Florida, Scott implemented red flag laws and raised the age to own a rifle to 21 after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

Following are excerpts from a Washington Examiner article titled “Constitutional troubles ahead for any red flag law compromise” by James Sweet published

My comments are in BOLD LETTERS.

“I sat down with Rick yesterday to ask him how he got that [law] passed and how impactful he thought it would be,” Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) said in an interview with Politico. “I think it ought to be done at the state level,” Scott responded. Murphy believes federal legislation on red flag laws could involve grants that assist states in implementing the policy.

Grants mean money and should not be an incentive or deciding factor for passing State Red Flag Laws.

Scott denied discussing “gun-related legislation” in his talks with Murphy. “Senator Scott is focused on how we can continue to make schools safe,” Scott’s spokesman said. Yet his presence at the bipartisan discussions held today raises an important question: Is there a compromise on red flag laws in the works?

Scott did us no favors in signing the FL Red Flag Law with its age restrictions on 18-20 year olds owning/possessing long guns and its unconstitutional Risk Protection Order taking up 48 pages of the 152 page law (SB 7026) and modeled after Oregon’s draconian law. As written this law does not provide Due Process. How can a seizure 2 weeks before a hearing be considered Due Process. We already had methods to seize guns including the Baker Act, Marchman Law and Court Injunctions where violence occurs. SB 7026 passed by only 1 vote in FL Senate and our own Senator Keli Stargel was the deciding vote.

In Florida, a petition for a risk protection order must be filed to start the process of removing guns from an individual’s possession. Once a petition is filed, the petitioner and respondent attend hearings to argue whether the order should be issued. “Such petition for a risk protection order does not require either party to be represented by an attorney,” according to Florida’s legal code.

If a person cannot afford a lawyer, he or she is not appointed one.

The quote highlighted in italics above is a gross misrepresentation. Law enforcement file the petition and are represented by their attorney at the hearing. In fact, some counties, like Polk have had so many RPO petitions filed that they have hired extra attorneys on contract to handle the cases. The respondent, on the other hand, must hire their own attorney if they expect to win against the accusation they may be a threat to themselves or other(s) sometime in the future.

Let’s also not forget the following facts:

  • The ex parte Risk Protection Order (RPO) is issued without notice to the respondent and can occur 24 X 7. This is a violation of the 4th Amendment.
  • The “hearing” at which the respondent is present does not take place until 2 weeks after the seizure (this is not Due Process under the 5th and 14th amendments).
  • This process does not recognize the principle of law that a person is innocent until proven guilty.
  • The rules of evidence do not involve “beyond reasonable doubt” but rather “reasonable suspicion” that the respondent may be a threat.
  • FL’s law calls for the respondent to be immediately entered into the state and federal criminal data bases (even though the RPO is supposedly a civil and not a criminal process, e.g. no crime has been committed). There is no provisions to remove the respondent found innocent from these lists.
  • An RPO can be issued up to a year after reporting a person as a threat.
  • If a respondent is found to be not a threat there are no provisions for prompt return of his/her firearms, ammo, permit nor that this property be returned in the same condition as when seized.
  • Since June 2018 when this law went into effect in Floirda of the over 5,000 RPOs issued, approximately 13% or 650 of those accused respondents have been found not to be a threat at the after the fact hearing – this is far too many and demonstrates 3 possibilities – the accusers lied and/or the LE sending the petition to Judges did not conduct a through investigation and/or the Judges rubber stamp these petitions. Not one of the false accusers have been charged with the 3rd degree misdemeanor called for in the law.
  • This law also facilitates the muting of 1st Amendment law of freedom of speech as people become fearful of stating anything that could be misconstrued as a threat. Furthermore, this law can easily be misused as a weapon against political opponents.

We don’t need Red Flag Laws to provide desperate gun control. What we need are common sense actions I previously addressed in a Call to Action 060322 against more Gun Control.

Bill Maher Rips Hollywood For Promoting The ‘Romanticization Of Gun Violence’

Bill Maher thinks Hollywood is partially responsible for gun violence in America.

Following multiple horrific mass shootings in America, people have been debating and trying to figure out ways to solve the issue. Maher thinks Hollywood should take a hard look in the mirror.

“It’s funny. Hollywood is the wokest place on Earth, and every other area of social responsibility. They have intimacy coordinators on set to chaperone sex scenes. They hire sensitivity readers to go through and read scripts. Disney stood up to the “Don’t Say Gay” law. Another studio spent $10 million to digitally remove Kevin Spacey from a movie. But when it comes to the unbridled romanticization of gun violence, crickets,” Maher said during the Friday night episode of “Real Time with Bill Maher.”

You can listen to his full comments below.

Honestly, I understand what Maher is saying, but I hate blaming movies and video games for gun violence. Personally, it seems like a cop out and an easy excuse to blame.

Think about how many people watch violent movies and play violent video games every year. It’s probably a number that is borderline impossible to calculate.

Yet, we don’t see massacres every single day. If violent movies were truly the motivating factor, we’d probably see a lot more violence than we do. That’s just my humble opinion, but that is how I see it.

Now, is Hollywood full of massive hypocrites on guns? Without a doubt. They want to disarm you while promoting guns in movies in order to get rich.

It’s beyond sickening, but that’s a bit of a different point than what Maher was making.

Let us know in the comments if you think Hollywood’s “romanticization of gun violence” is a problem or not.

The Federal Government’s Own Study Concluded Its Ban on ‘Assault Weapons’ Didn’t Reduce Gun Violence

“You may remember, the last time we did something serious about guns was when I passed the Assault Opens [sic] Ban, I was the guy that sponsored that, got it passed, limiting a number of bullets that could be in a magazine, the whole background checks, a whole range of things. And we passed and violent crime and gun crime dropped off, but I could only get it pass for 10 years, it had to be reauthorized.” – Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. on Jimmy Kimmel Live June 8th, 2022

Other studies, including two published in 2020, reached similar conclusions.

Do something.

This is a response—and perhaps a natural one—to a human tragedy or crisis. We saw this response in the wake of 9-11. We saw it during the Covid-19 pandemic. And we’re seeing it again following three mass shootings—in Buffalo, New York, Uvalde, Texas, and Tulsa Oklahoma—that claimed the lives of more than 30 innocent people, including small children.

In this case, the “something” is gun control. In Canada—where no attack even occurred—Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the introduction of legislation that would freeze handgun ownership across the country.

“What this means is that it will no longer be possible to buy, sell, transfer or import handguns anywhere in Canada,” Trudeau said in a press conference.

In the United States, the rhetoric has tended to be more heated but also vague, though some specific proposals have emerged.

Over the weekend, Vice President Kamala Harris called for an all-out ban of “assault weapons.”

“We know what works on this. It includes, let’s have an assault weapons ban,” Harris told reporters in Buffalo after attending the funeral of a victim.

On Thursday, President Joe Biden, while speaking from the White House Cross Hall before a candlelit backdrop, called on Congress to pass new gun control legislation, including a ban on assault weapons.

“How much more carnage are we willing to accept?” Biden asked.

There are numerous problems with this proposal, starting with the sticky question of defining what an “assault weapon” is.

Assault rifles, which by definition are capable of selective fire, are already banned under the National Firearms Act of 1934. The vague phrase “assault weapon” is basically a tautology—by definition, any weapon can be used to assault someone—and virtually useless. The term might be effective politically, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, the guns politicians choose to define as “assault weapons” typically “are no more dangerous than others that are not specified.”

We know this because the US had a ban on “assault weapons” as recently as 2004, something gun control supporters recently pointed out on Twitter.

“We had an assault weapon ban for 10 years: 1994-2004,” said Dr. Joanne Freeman, a historian at Yale University. “The world didn’t end. People kept their (other) guns. They bought new guns. It was hardly an attack on gun ownership.”

The Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act of 1994 targeted firearms deemed “useful in military and criminal applications but unnecessary in shooting sports or self-defense.”

Freeman is right that the ban lasted a decade before expiring on September 13, 2004. She’s also right that the world “didn’t end” and Americans continued to use and purchase other types of firearms.

What Freeman didn’t bring up was the effectiveness (or lack thereof) of the government’s Federal Assault Weapons Ban. Nearly two decades ago the Department of Justice funded a study to analyze this very topic, and it concluded that the assault weapon prohibition had “mixed” results.

Researchers noted there was a decline in crimes committed with firearms classified as assault weapons, but noted “the decline in AW use was offset throughout at least the late 1990s by steady or rising use of other guns.”

In other words, there was a decline in crimes committed with firearms that were banned, but the drop was replaced by crimes committed with other types of firearms that were not banned.

While gun violence overall fell in the US during this period—just like many other countries around the world—the decline continued even after the Federal Assault Weapons Ban ended in 2004. Authors of the government-funded study plainly stated “we cannot clearly credit the ban with any of the nation’s recent drop in gun violence” and any future reduction in gun violence as a result of the ban was likely “to be small at best and perhaps too small for reliable measurement.”

One might contend that this is just one study. No study is irrefutable, after all, even ones commissioned by the Justice Department. However, other studies since then have yielded similar conclusions.

A RAND review of gun control studies, which was updated in 2020, concluded there’s “inconclusive evidence for the effect of assault weapon bans on mass shootings.” Research published in Criminology & Public Policy the same year (2020) concluded that bans on assault weapons “do not seem to be associated with the incidence of fatal mass shootings.”

President Biden has claimed the 1994 crime bill he helped pass “brought down these mass killings,” but fact checkers have contested these claims based on this evidence and much more.

It’s unlikely the White House has enough votes to pass a second ban on certain semi-automatic firearms, but it’s far from impossible in an environment in which many Americans—even gun enthusiasts and Second Amendment supporters—are increasingly asking politicians to “do something.”

Unfortunately, when people say “do something” they tend to mean “pass sweeping legislation that infringes on the civil liberties of others.” Such thinking spawned the super-state that sprang forth in the War on Terror following the 9-11 attacks. It also produced government lockdowns during the pandemic, the worst and longest depression in American history, and a host of other disasters.

If history has taught us anything, it’s that the impulse to use collective force to “do something” in the wake of a tragedy or crisis has created far more problems than it has solved.

The economic historian Robert Higgs has noted that the most sprawling encroachments of freedom in history spawned during crises and tragedies; they have given rise to tyrants from Lenin to Mao and beyond. Even when powers are relinquished by government, they are rarely relinquished completely (a phenomenon Higgs describes as the Ratchet Effect).

“When [crises occur] … governments almost certainly will gain new powers over economic and social affairs,” wrote Higgs. “For those who cherish individual liberty and a free society, the prospect is deeply disheartening.”

As we mourn the victims in Buffalo, Uvalde, and Tulsa, we’d do well to remember that one true moral purpose of government is to protect individual rights, and any attempt to deprive humans of these rights for “a greater good” is a perversion of the law.

DEMOCRAT RULE: America’s Great Cities Gripped by Decline and Disorder

This is not about two political parties with different ideas. This is treason and treachery on an epic scale. There can be no ‘co-existing’ with murderers, looters, destroyers. And that is what the Democrat party is and what they stand for.

America’s great cities are gripped by decline and disorder

Voters have had enough of ‘progressive’ leaders who are presiding over spiraling violence and crime.

NYC: Video shows man violently toss random woman onto Bronx subway tracks

By: Joel Kotkin, Spiked, June 7, 2022:

For the past decade, America’s urban centres have been increasingly run by ‘progressive’ activists. Yet today, as US cities reel from collapsed economies, rising crime and pervasive corruption, there’s something of a revolt brewing, the success of which may well determine the role and trajectory of our great urban centres.

This emerging conflict is coming to a head next week in Los Angeles, the US’s second-largest city, in the Democratic primaries for LA mayor. Next week’s vote is likely to lead to a head-to-head between moderate billionaire developer Rick Caruso and progressive congressperson Karen Bass, once considered a potential vice-president for Joe Biden. On the same day, ultra-liberal San Francisco district attorney Chesa Boudin faces a potential recall amid rising crime rates.

The possible shift towards the centre reflects a move back to more traditional urban policies, particularly on crime and homelessness. It’s not Republicans leading the charge against ultra-progressive policies, either. It is African American, Democratic mayors like Houston’s Sylvester Turner and New York’s Eric Adams.

Even the denizens of left-leaning cities are rethinking progressivism. Last year, Austin – Texas’ blue capital – rescinded provisions, backed by progressives, that allowed vast homeless encampments to spring up across the city. Earlier this year, similarly left-leaning Seattle removed its ultra-progressive district attorney and Buffalo voters defeated a socialist-backed Democrat in favour of a moderate African American. Even in San Francisco, progressive school-board members were overwhelmingly defeated in February 2022 – an ominous development for Boudin’s chances next week.

We could be seeing the beginning of a sea change in urban politics. Not long ago, Republicans were still competitive in urban areas, although larger cities have generally trended Democratic. In 1995, America’s 20 largest cities were evenly divided by party, but today Democrats control 16 out of the 20 largest cities. In the 1990s and 2000s, cities elected successful, pragmatic mayors from both parties – such as Bob Lanier and Bill White in Houston, Rudy Giuliani and Michael Bloomberg in New York, and Richard Riordan in Los Angeles – who focused on reducing crime, encouraging enterprise and improving basic city services.

Trudeau bans handgun sales, and now he’s fighting to lessen penalty for major gun crime

Gun sales are flying off the shelves in Canada so fast that many stores are “selling out altogether after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced gun control legislation freezing all pistol purchases.” But something else is happening. Trudeau is now defending another piece of legislation before Parliament that will reduce sentencing requirements for serious gun crimes. The contradiction may seem peculiar to those who haven’t been following Justin Trudeau.

First of all, potential gun owners are properly screened in Canada, so there was no need for tighter gun legislation in the country in the first place.

Trudeau’s ban was announced on the heels of the Texas mass murder, during which Texas police actually stopped parents from trying to go in and save their children. Some Uvalde parents who were armed and ready to storm the school, but were blocked by armed police who refused to go in themselves.

Trudeau branded his gun ban as a safety issue: “Keeping Canadians safe is the Government of Canada’s top priority.” But does Trudeau really care about the safety of Canadians? Trudeau threw out a welcome mat for Islamic State jihadists, and continues a lax immigration policy that provides a perfect opportunity for jihadists and the worst criminals to enter Canada. Yet he touts his commitment to keeping Canadians safe. Trudeau has also faced ethics violations for misusing taxpayer funds. Watch how Member of Parliament Pierre Poilievre humiliated and cornered him about his crookedness and breach of the Ethics Act HERE.  Trudeau isn’t a man that engenders trust.

With Trudeau’s new laws, only criminals and the government will end up being armed. The Trudeau ban also serves as a boon to the illegal market. CTV news republished a radio news story entitled Radio host proves how easy it is to find an illegal gun in Toronto.

Tighter gun controls are feel-good measures employed by Leftist politicians who hijack tragedies to boost their popularity. They do not work. One need only look to Chicago and Washington, DC, with their high rates of violent crime; both are among the strictest jurisdictions for gun laws in America.

Chicago earned the nickname Chiraq to reflect the intensity of its gun violence – comparing the city to the war zone of Iraq. “60% of the guns recovered in Chicago were originally purchased out of state, with Indiana, Mississippi and Wisconsin among the top suppliers.” But Chicago’s violence is driven by illegal guns. Chicago police “recover at least 10,000 firearms every year,” yet “there are zero gun stores within city limits.”

Britain saw knife crime soar in 2020, showing further that it isn’t guns and knives that are activating themselves; it’s disturbed human beings and criminals who are using them.

Leftist leaders continue to push policies that are detrimental to national security, the rule of law, life, the nuclear familyracial harmony, the economy and mental health; yet they scream about gun control in the societies that they helped to destroy.

Gun bans have never worked. Hitler took guns away in Germany, then murdered millions of Jews. Stalin also took guns away, and then murdered millions. Ditto for the worst mass murderer in history, Mao Zedong. Castro also disarmed his population and massacred his own people.

While Trudeau pretends to care about Canada in his move to take away guns from law-abiding citizens, he is merely politicking. His simultaneous reduction of sentences for serious gun crimes is supposedly in service of “racial equity,” which is a real slap in the face to law-abiding blacks and aboriginals. As the Toronto Sun points out:

The prime minister is defending a bill his government has before Parliament to reduce sentencing requirements for gun crimes, saying it’s about racial equity. “What our communities need is a justice system that punishes criminals. What we do not need is a system that targets racialized people because of systemic discrimination.”

Despite Trudeau’s incompetence, dishonesty, ethical infractions, and divisive politics, there is one event that put him on the map globally: the Freedom Convoy. He insulted concerned Canadians before the world as showing “’disrespect to science’ and championing ‘hate, abuse and racism.” Of course, he ignored the many visible minorities and religious groups who took part in the protests. And even prior to Canada’s Freedom Convoy, Lifesite News published the headline: Canada is sinking into totalitarianism. The evidence is overwhelmingIt is also worth noting that Trudeau stated during the trucker protests that police requested need for the Emergencies Act to be invoked. But it was recently revealed that he lied. The Emergencies Act was not requested by police.

Canada is not only sinking into totalitarianism. It is sinking into complete decay: economically, socially and in regard to the rule of law.

FACT CHECK: Biden Lies About Guns Killing More Kids Than Cars

I had already debunked this completely misleading claim from the CDC even before it spread widely and before Biden incorporated it into his gun control speech.

After the Uvalde school shooting, the CDC and the media are pushing a misleading claim that, “firearms were the leading cause of death for kids one and older for the first time in 2020.”

There’s no statistical reason for the CDC to group infants and teenagers together into the same category except to push a gun control agenda. 1-year-olds and 19-year-olds don’t have much in common when it comes to gun violence. And when the numbers are broken down, teenagers have catastrophically high murder and suicide rates, while babies are much less affected.

The CDC’s letter to the New England Journal of Medicine claims that “in 2020, firearm-related injuries became the leading cause of death” for “persons 1 to 19 years of age”.

The CDC buries the salient data in its appendix. It claims that the “increase was seen across most demographic characteristics”. Its own data however shows a massive increase among black teens and a fairly limited one among most other groups.

Nevertheless, in his gun control address, Biden pushed an even worse version of the same claim.

“According to new data just released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, guns are the number one killer of children in the United States of America.  The number one killer.  More than car accidents.”

Fairly few children are actually killed by guns.

Any statistical category that tops out at 19 years old obviously can’t be characterized as “children”. The majority of deaths in that category involve teenagers and gang activity.

NBC News’ fairly nuanced fact check makes the same point.

While gun and motor vehicle deaths increased substantially in 2020, the latest year final numbers were available, claims that more children and teens die due to guns than motor vehicles only hold up when 18- to 19-year-olds are included, a group that accounts for nearly as many gun deaths as  1 to 17-year-olds combined do, according to an NBC News analysis of data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The gap between vehicular deaths and firearm deaths is narrowing among 1 to 17-year-olds, and may close entirely, according to the CDC’s provisional and incomplete 2021 data…

Provisional data from 2021 shows a gap of 9 deaths separating vehicle fatalities from firearm deaths among children.

A key difference though is that while gun deaths are heavily concentrated among black teens in inner cities, car accidents are widely dispersed. This is the same issue as the mischaracterization of widespread AIDS risk in the eighties. The school shootings are the Ryan White of risk assessment. The data here is skewed by a very high rate of fatalities among a very narrow demographic.

The Johns Hopkins report on gun deaths in 2020 put out last month was much more revealing.

It had the numbers that should have been front and center at the CDC, such as, “In 2020, one out of every 1,000 young Black males (15–34) was shot and killed.”

Even though young black males only make up “2% of the total population”, they account for  “38% of all gun homicide fatalities” with a gun homicide rate “almost 21 times higher than white males of the same age group.”

“More than half of all black teens (15–19) who died in 2020—a staggering 52%—were killed by gun violence,” it shockingly observes.

So you have a very high death rate among 2% of the population that’s being narrative laundered to make it seem as if all of America’s kids are at risk.

Guns are the number one killer of black teens. But then again black men are unique in that they’re the only group for whom murder is the top cause of death.

Homicide doesn’t even make the CDC’s top 10 causes of death for men in America, but it’s number four for black men. In 2017, it caused 5% of the deaths of black men, more than strokes, diabetes, or most diseases. The only things more likely to kill black men than black-on-black crime are heart disease, cancer, and accidents.

Among black men under the age of 20, homicide is the leading cause of death at 35.3%.

It’s also the leading cause of death for black men from 20-44 years old at 27.6%.

Only at the age of 65 does homicide drop out of the top 10 causes of death for black men.

So all that the number Biden is quoting really tell us is that a population with high crime rates now has such a high death rate among teens that when combined with the general population, it distorts those numbers dramatically.

Children, thank G-d, do have fairly low death rates in America. And so that data set is the most vulnerable to statistical distortion which I’m sure the gun control advocates at the CDC knew when they decided to push these dishonest statistics.

This is also a reminder of why Republicans were right to block the CDC from doing any gun violence research. The CDC can’t be trusted and any gun violence research inevitably becomes dishonest advocacy for gun control.

FLORIDA: Senator Rick Scott supports ‘Red Flag’ Laws which are ‘Gun Control’ Laws

Re: Letter from Florida Senator Rick Scott.

He is being totally disingenuous when he states the following:

“When properly constructed with due process protections, red flag laws are commonsense measures to keep weapons out of the hands of any person who threatens to harm themselves or others.”

“I was proud to recently join Senator Marco Rubio in introducing the Extreme Risk Protection Order and Violence Prevention Act of 2021 (S. 292) that would build on our efforts at the state level to help keep families safe nationwide. I will continue to review any proposal aimed at keeping Americans safe.”

What Scott, Rubio and others aren’t telling people is the following:

  • Florida and Indiana are the only 2 States with such a law and it was passed in less than 2 weeks as a knee jerk reaction to a total failure of LE (Broward County Sheriff and FBI) and School Administration. It passed overwhelmingly by RINOs in the House and by only 1 vote in the Senate. The 48 pages within SB 7026, Marjory Stoneman Douglas Public Safety Act, that codifies the RPO is almost a direct lift of far left Oregon’s Extreme Risk Protection law.
  • RPOs are based on anyone calling LE and complaining that someone is a “threat” without any proof other than a statement and with little investigation by LE. It is basically a rubber stamp process as illustrated by the fact that very few are denied by presiding Judges(s).
  • RPO is a Civil Process not a Criminal one so the judge issuing the RPO only has to have “reasonable suspicion” based on a statement by someone that a person is a threat to themselves or others. The normal legal standard “Beyond Reasonable Doubt is not used in this process.”
  • Normal legal principle of being “innocent until proven guilty” is thrown out the window.
  • Seizure takes place without prior notification and without a hearing involving the person accused of being a threat.
  • The “Respondent” (person accused of being a threat) is not provided with a Public Defender and must hire a private attorney if they expect to prevail at the hearing. On the other hand, LE who request the RPO are represented by their internal attorney(s) at the hearing.
  • If respondent is found to be a threat by the Court they lose possession of their property for 1 year and this can be indefinitely extended.
  • Although a crime has not been committed the respondent is immediately placed in both the FL and National Criminal Data Bases with no procedure spelled out to be taken off. It is very difficult to be taken off.
  • Respondent can receive RPO for something that was said or occurred up to 1 year ago.
  • No provisions are made to properly maintain the respondent’s property and return it in same condition as when seized.
  • Statistics to date in FL reveal that an average of 10% of respondents are found not to be a threat at the after the fact hearing. The respondent has been subjected to a humiliating and frightening process without Due Process or recourse for any kind of recompense. There is no automatic process for removing them from criminal data bases even though no crime has been committed.
  • Those who are stripped of their 2A rights are left defenseless against criminals who will possess and use firearms in committing crimes regardless of any Red Flag laws.
  • The RPO process does not recognize or take into account law abiding gun owners with no prior criminal record with CCW permits meaning they have been through a background check.
  • The RPO can be weaponized and/or politicized against innocent people thus limiting or scaring people from freely exercising their 1st Amendment Rights.

Red Flag Laws are an unconstitutional process which violates 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 14th Amendments and is trading off individual Liberty for possible but unproven Safety. Senator’s Scott, Rubio and any other so called “law makers” who advocate for such laws are helping the Marxist, Communist Democrats and their ilk to chip away at our God given, Constitutionally guaranteed rights for strictly political purposes.

“Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” Benjamin Franklin, Founding Father

Letter from Senator Rick Scott (R-FL)

Dear Mr. Brown,

Thank you for contacting me regarding your concerns about gun violence in America. I appreciate the opportunity to respond.

The safety of our families is always my top priority, and I am a proud supporter of the Constitution, the Second Amendment and the rights of law-abiding citizens. As Governor of Florida, I worked to increase safety measures in Florida’s schools through the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act, which also included a new process to enable law enforcement to seek a judicially issued Extreme Risk Protection Order in appropriate circumstances, commonly referred to as a “red flag” law. When properly constructed with due process protections, red flag laws are commonsense measures to keep weapons out of the hands of any person who threatens to harm themselves or others.

As a United States Senator, I remain focused on making sure that our communities are safe, and that those struggling with mental health issues or threatening harm to themselves or others cannot access or possess a weapon. I was proud to recently join Senator Marco Rubio in introducing the Extreme Risk Protection Order and Violence Prevention Act of 2021 (S. 292) that would build on our efforts at the state level to help keep families safe nationwide. I will continue to review any proposal aimed at keeping Americans safe.

Again, thank you for your correspondence. I am proud to represent every citizen in Florida and I appreciate the time you took to provide your position on this matter. Should you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Rick Scott
United States Senator

Trump says ‘existence of evil’ is why law-abiding Americans need Second Amendment

By Kyle Morris | Fox News, May 27, 2022:

HOUSTON – Former President Trump traveled to Houston on Friday to offer support for the National Rifle Association and echo the group’s mission as it faces pushback from gun control advocates following a deadly school shooting in Texas this week.

Speaking from the George R. Brown Convention Center, Trump addressed NRA members and touted the work his administration did to preserve the Second Amendment during his tenure in the White House.

Trump’s remarks at the 2022 NRA convention came days after a shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, that left 19 children and two adults dead.

“The existence of evil is one of the very best reasons to arm law-abiding citizens and that is why one of the core missions of the NRA is to train, prepare and equip responsible American men and women with the knowledge and tools they need to defend themselves,” Trump said, highlighting efforts from the NRA to enhance gun safety measures.

“The NRA has 125,000 certified instructors,” he added. “These are highly trained, very, very capable people. They train an incredible 1,000,000 Americans to be safer. Gun owners ready to act when the situation calls… incredible job.”

Trump said his administration worked to stop the siege on the Second Amendment and told those in attendance at the convention that “those on the left” will soon come for guns of all types.

“Let’s not pretend that those on the left are just talking about limiting one class of gun or one category of ammunition,” Trump said. “They’re not doing that.

“We all know they want total gun confiscation, we know that this would be a first step,” he added. “Once they get the first step, they’ll take the second step, the third, the fourth, and then you’ll have a whole different look at the Second Amendment, which is, by the way, totally under siege. But we stopped it for four years. We stopped it.”

Trump also told the NRA members that “schools should be the single-hardest target in our country” and noted the need to mend the issues surrounding “broken families” and mental health. He also suggested that some teachers should be able to “conceal carry.”

The Moral Idiocy of Gun Control

Is it more moral to own a gun or to pay someone else to do it for you?

I was chatting with a horrified Swedish visitor who described a visit to Nevada.

“There was this grandmother, an elderly lady, and she took out a gun from her purse,” he told me, shaking his head.

We were having this conversation in a city which had racked up 77 shootings in just one month.

Few New Yorkers legally own guns. The NYPD has issued around 40,000 handgun permits in a city of over 8 million. That’s around one handgun for every two-hundred New Yorkers.

Don’t assume that the parts of the city with the most guns are the most dangerous.

The vast majority of handgun permits are in Staten Island, which has the lowest crime rate in the city, as opposed to the Bronx, with the highest. Manhattan has few legal guns relative to its population while the white working class areas of Brooklyn have some of the most legal guns.

The Daily News, which interviewed a criminologist as part of its anti-gun crusade, found that he was “puzzled”. “Some people see a mugging in the Bronx, and they want to get a gun on Staten Island,” he argued. “That’s not rational, but some people really want guns.”

Perhaps one of the reasons that there are fewer muggings in Staten Island is that more of the folks there can prevent them. Muggers, like most predators, prefer victims who don’t fight back.

Big city progressives find guns indefinably ‘icky’. It’s not only foreigners who marvel at a country where guns, even ‘big scary black ones’, are available everywhere. The propaganda of Michael Moore’s “Bowling in Columbine” and countless network news shows is that people who live surrounded by guns have created the conditions for mass shootings. And they have it coming.

But New Yorkers, like most big city dwellers, live surrounded by guns. These aren’t the guns that ride on trucks or sit in sporting goods store displays. They’re the guns flashed by a mugger under his heavy down winter coat, or shot by rival gang members exchanging fire in the 73rd precinct in Brooklyn which accounted for around 100 shootings in just one year alone.

And there are the guns worn more openly by the army of police officers, security guards, bodyguards, and others, many of whom live on Staten Island, who are hired to keep New Yorkers safe. Two years ago, Bond, an app that some have called ‘Uber for Bodyguards’ debuted, allowing New Yorkers to order their own security personnel. New Yorkers, who disdain guns, instead tap an app for bodyguards to escort them from their train stop to their office.

Most urbanites hate living in this kind of  world, but they hate the alternative even more.

Gun control isn’t policy, it’s culture. And while the media often goes on about “gun culture”, there’s little thought given to “gun control culture” for the same reason that fish rarely film documentaries on what it’s like to have gills and swim underwater.

Gun control culture means paying men with guns between $50,000 to $85,000 a year in the hopes that they’ll show up in under 10 minutes and do something useful when you call 911.

That strategy didn’t work very well in Uvalde. It doesn’t work all that well most of the time.

Before Uvalde, in the recent Buffalo mass shooting, a 911 operator hung up on a store employee calling for help. The cops arrived in 5 minutes: in time to talk the shooter out of killing himself in front of the store so that taxpayers can pay for his trial and a 50-year prison term.

And that’s what a fantastic response time looks like. But by then, 10 people were dead.

Gun control culture pathologically hates guns, but also hates the men it hires to wield them. Urban lefties threw an anti-police tantrum that was so successful that their cities are frantically trying to hire more police officers to keep up with the resulting crime wave on their streets.

Police defunding is deader than the thousands of additional murder victims in the Year of BLM.

Gun control is a fantasy that somehow making guns as illegal in the rest of the country as they are in New York will put a stop to all the violence so that urban and suburban elites won’t have  to choose between being victims or paying the armed men they disapprove of to protect them.

Eliminating guns isn’t actually on the table.

This is a choice between an empowered public of gun owners and an endless running battle between cops and thugs in a society where only criminals and governments have guns.

A nationwide New York or Chicago.

Most Americans don’t want to live in this kind of world. Neither does anyone else. That’s why the wealthy hipsters who poured into New York City after Giuliani cleaned it up are leaving. Those who can afford it, go to the suburbs or to wealthy enclaves in other parts of the city. While crime hasn’t entirely depopulated the city, it has put a stop to gentrification. A slow motion white flight is happening all over again even though its participants are too ashamed to admit it.

The sharp division between gun culture and gun control culture is the border of an affected distancing from life’s realities. Gun controllers aren’t necessarily physical cowards, but they are moral cowards.

The same sorts of people who think guns are ‘icky’ also don’t want to know where their meat comes from or to see the soldiers who come back from the wars. These are things that they pay other people to do because it preserves their illusions about the world and about themselves.

America is becoming a nation split between those hard workers who take responsibility for dealing with life’s realities and the managerial elites who only issue meaningless orders.

Faced with shootings, managerial elites apply rule-based abstractions to messy realities that they are incapable of grappling with. The Left is always good for easy solutions that take away agency from individuals and invest it in a central authority in order to solve the unsolvable problems of human nature. And the managerial elites are always suckers for the myth that getting everyone to follow the rules in line with some grand theory will solve everything.

The people who, as the champion of managerial elites, once claimed, “cling bitterly” to their guns, understand that life is messy and that there’s no grand fix, only a series of choices.

Gun ownership is an act of personal responsibility. By buying and owning a firearm, a man is saying that he also intends to take ownership of his personal safety and his choices. That doesn’t always end happily, but there’s far more moral self-awareness in that choice than there is in urban elites who hate guns paying the gun owners they despise to keep them safe.

The one thing we absolutely own in this world are our choices.

Gun control isn’t about stopping gun violence, but disavowing moral responsibility for preventing it, passing the buck to the cops, to society, and to some force outside our control. Gun control rallies are the virtue signaling of moral cowards seeking to blame someone else for horrors that they cannot cope with and that they do not intend to take any personal action to prevent.

Disarmament, national or personal, is not a moral stance, but the abandonment of morality.

Gun controllers have had a field day with the inaction of the Uvalde cops, but it never occurs to them that’s who they are, standing around, wringing their hands and waiting for someone to tell them what the plan is, so they don’t have to make any difficult choices in the face of a crisis.

Gun control is the moral idiocy of the irresponsible blaming those who have taken responsibility.

Destroying Our Iconic and Uniquely American Cowboys via Yellowstone, The Ranch and Outer Range

I grew up watching shows about cowboys like Roy Rogers, The Lone Ranger, Gunsmoke, Rawhide and Have Gun – Will Travel. In these television series there was the good guy versus the bad guy. The good guy always won and usually got the girl.

Fast forward to 2022 and we now have a new series of cowboy television shows called Yellowstone, The Ranch and Outer Range. I have watched all three series and was shocked as producers and filmmakers worked to destroyed our uniquely American and iconic cowboys and ranchers.

Each series has these things in common:

  1. Cowboys are now the bad guys.
  2. The families of cowboys and ranchers are dysfunctional.
  3. Cowboys are heavy drinkers.
  4. Cowboys are murderers.
  5. Cowboys and ranchers are violent.
  6. Cowboys and ranchers are oppressors of minorities, like the native American Indian, i.e. Yellowstone.
  7. Cowboys and ranchers are greedy.
  8. Cowboys and ranchers use guns.
  9. Cowboys and ranchers are uneducated, inept and prone to violence.
  10. Cowboys have serious challenges which they are not equipped to deal with.
  11. Finally, cowboys and ranchers are portrayed as vigilantes and above the law.

In other words the American cowboy and ranchers are portrayed today as evil.

Cowboys and Guns

By portraying our cowboys and ranchers in a negative light it impacts the actual families and children of cowboys and ranchers.

This is part and parcel of the anti-gun, cultural and social justice war being waged against Americans in general, and in the case of these three popular streaming television series, cowboys and ranchers in particular.

QUESTION: But why?

ANSWER: Ranchers and cowboys represent fly over America.

Ranchers and cowboys feed Americans and work their land for the common good. Also, they carry guns.

Today, guns are being targeted by those who wish to eliminate the single amendment in our Constitution that was written to stop a tyrannical president – the Second Amendment.

Yellowstone, The Ranch and Outer Range each has a anti-gun agenda. This anti-gun agenda is particularly noticeable in Yellowstone. For example, the Marlin Model 336 is a rifle seen and used throughout the Yellowstone series. But so to are AR-15 style rifles like the Daniel Defense MK18 AR, a rifle similar to the DDM4, made by Daniel Defense that was used by 18-year-old Salvador Rolando Ramos during the Uvalde Massacre on May 24, 2022.

In our column “CULTURAL ROT: The Left’s War Against Guns But Not Criminals” we quoted Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., who on June 2, 2022, in the White House said,

“I respect the culture and the tradition and the concerns of lawful gun owners. At the same time, the Second Amendment, like all other rights, is not absolute.

Cowboys have a tradition and culture of the use of guns to protect themselves, their families and their ranches and livestock. Yellowstone, The Ranch and Outer Range are designed not only to denigrate our iconic cowboys and ranchers but also to attack guns.

You see these cowboys and ranchers are much like today’s law enforcement officers. In Yellowstone the ranchers have their own police force called “Livestock Agents.”

Watch this cattle thief shootout from Paramount’s Yellowstone (warning graphic images and foul language):

Jason Whitlock said,

“When your culture makes George Floyd the hero, real heroes stand down. Cultural rot has consequences.”

After watching Yellowstone, The Ranch and Outer Range we sadly say,

When your culture makes cowboys and ranchers the bad guys, real heroes stand down. Cultural rot has consequences.

Today we have people who celebrate criminals while attacking our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. This is all designed to disarm us. As Keven Downey, Jr. wrote,

The 2nd Amendment isn’t about shooting deer… It’s about defending the Constitution against enemies foreign and DOMESTIC. It’s for when our elected leaders go rogue. It’s for when an entire political party of the United States goes full commtard and won’t stop shredding the Constitution until it’s dead, floating facedown in the Potomac, enveloped in adipocere. Defending our Constitution is way easier to do with magazines that hold 30 rounds of commie-stoppers.

The Bottom Line

Here is an FBI chart showing the types of weapons used for murders between 2015-2019. As you can see, over three times as many people were beaten to death as were killed by all rifle styles combined, and nearly five times as many were killed by knives.

NCFIRE.info reported the following:

2022 Monthly Child Rapes by Illegal Aliens

5) May 2022               18 illegal aliens arrested for 42 child rape/child sexual assault charges in NC       here

4) April 2022               19 illegal aliens arrested for 72 child rape/child sexual assault charges in NC       here

3) March 2022            30 illegal aliens arrested for 110 child rape/child sexual assault charges in NC     here

2) February 2022        27 illegal aliens arrested for 84 child rape/child sexual assault charges in NC       here

1) January 2022         18 illegal aliens arrested for 96 child rape/child sexual assault charges in NC        here

But these facts don’t matter to Biden, Democrats and their social justice warrior allies. What matters to the likes of Biden and his administration is taking away our God given freedoms and gaining more and more power.

If you want more crime, anti-social behavior and civil disorder then simply demonize the police, cowboys and ranchers and idolize criminals like George Floyd.

I spent 23 years in the U.S. Army. I used guns of all types and calibers. I defended our nation using guns to stop our Communist enemies in Vietnam and during the Cold War with the former Soviet Union.

I grew up watching cowboys and ranchers doing these same things when it came to their families, ranches and communities. Guns save lives, protect families and secure our homes.

To kill the iconic cowboy is to kill our American culture.

It is no different than tearing down statues of Confederate generals, defacing statues of General George Washington or cancelling our culture using theories like Critical Race in public schools.

These times are dangerous times. Everywhere you look our institutions, icons and heroes are being  torn down and replaced with symbols and icons of pure evil.

REMEMBER: Without law and order there is no law and order.

Gird your loins. Tyranny is coming to America in the name of social justice for some but not for all.

Biden Continues Dividing This Nation

In the desperately sad aftermath of the latest shooting of young innocent lives by a mentally deranged and evil young man, Santos Valdez Jr., 18, we all knew that Democrats, within a very short time, would not allow a great crisis be wasted. It is almost like they pray to Satan for these moments to push their anti 2nd Amendment rhetoric. It never ceases to amaze me how within minutes sometimes they have a speech and lies ready to go – almost like they expected it to happen.

At a time when the President and Vice President should be uniting the country in our grief at the deaths of these poor children and the adults, they are yelling and cursing at we the people as protectors of the constitution, gun lobbies and gun manufacturers.

Tucker Carlson said it so well:

“The President of the United States, frail, confused, bitterly partisan, desecrating the memory of recently murdered children with tired talking points of the Democratic Party, dividing the country in a moment of deep pain rather than uniting. His voice raising and amplified only as he repeats the talking points he repeated for over 35 years in the United States Senate, partisan politics being the only thing that animates him. Unfit for leadership of this country.”

One politician stands out with his profanity that is aimed at republicans and gun owners as well as Christians.

Rep. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz. tweeted,

“F— your prayers. They haven’t worked for the last 20 mass shootings how about passing laws that will stop these killings.”

This was aimed specifically at Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif. Do we the people really expect our representatives to use profanity like that? I hope not. After all, conservatives are morally better people than those extremists on the left.

The same despicable democrat, Gallego also tweeted Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas:

Other DemonRats immediately stood and yelled out anti gun rhetoric including Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, whose opinion is not worth a cent as she runs one of the most crime ridden and corrupt cities in the country. After all 218 murders and thousands of shootings there this year is not newsworthy. After all, most are ( 80%) black on black or (14%) black/Hispanic on brown and therefore not worthy of mention as it doesn’t go with the Biden agenda. Where are Black Lives Matter on this? Oh hang on – they are at the realtors buying another multi million dollar home or paying exorbitant amounts to relatives to provide security!

As is normal, the shooter in Texas left a long line of clues that nobody took notice of. Here is a brief history of this troubled young man copied from the Washington Post:

Santos Valdez Jr., 18, said he has known Ramos since early elementary school. They were friends, he said, until Ramos’s behavior started to deteriorate. They used to play video games such as Fortnite and Call of Duty. But then Ramos changed. Once, Valdez said, Ramos pulled up to a park where they often played basketball and had cuts all over his face. He first said a cat had scratched his face.
“Then he told me the truth, that he’d cut up his face with knives over and over and over,” Valdez said. “I was like, ‘You’re crazy, bro, why would you do that?’”

Ramos said he did it for fun, Valdez recalled.

In middle school and junior high, Ramos was bullied for having a stutter and a strong lisp, friends and family said. Stephen Garcia, who considered himself Ramos’s best friend in eighth grade, said Ramos didn’t have it easy in school. “He would get bullied hard, like bullied by a lot of people,” Garcia said. “Over social media, over gaming, over everything.”

“He was the nicest kid, the most shyest kid. He just needed to break out of his shell.”

One time, he posted a photo of himself wearing black eyeliner, Garcia said, which brought on a slew of comments using a derogatory term for a gay person.

Garcia said he tried to stand up for him. But when Garcia and his mother relocated to another part of Texas for her job, “he just started being a different person,” Garcia said. “He kept getting worse and worse, and I don’t even know.”

When Garcia left, Ramos dropped out of school. He started wearing all black, Garcia said, and large military boots. He grew his hair out long. He missed long periods of high school, classmates said, and was not on track to graduate with them this year.

Ramos’s cousin Mia said she saw students mock his speech impediment when they attended middle school together. He’d brush it off in the moment, Mia said, then complain later to his grandmother that he didn’t want to go back to school.

“He wasn’t very much of a social person after being bullied for the stutter,” said Mia, who spoke on the condition that her last name not be used because her family does not want to be associated with the massacre. “I think he just didn’t feel comfortable anymore at school.”

Valdez said Ramos drove around with another friend at night sometimes and shot at random people with a BB gun. He also egged people’s cars, Valdez said.

About a year ago, Ramos posted on social media photos of automatic rifles that “he would have on his wish list,” Valdez said. Four days ago, he posted images of two rifles he referred to as “my gun pics.”

A person briefed on the investigation’s early findings, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case, said Ramos bought the weapon used in the attack immediately after his 18th birthday, which was in mid-May.
Two months ago, he posted an Instagram story in which he screamed at his mother, who he said was trying to kick him out of their home, said Nadia Reyes, a high school classmate.

“He posted videos on his Instagram where the cops were there and he’d call his mom a b—- and say she wanted to kick him out,” Reyes said. “He’d be screaming and talking to his mom really aggressively.”

Ruben Flores, 41, said he lived next door to the family on Hood Street and tried to be a kind of father figure to Ramos, who had “a pretty rough life with his mom.”

He and his wife, Becky Flores, would invite Ramos to barbecues at their house and for sleepovers with their son, who was a few years younger. Ramos went by the nickname “pelon,” Spanish for bald, because his hair was often cut so short when he was younger, Flores said.

As he grew older, problems at home became more acute and more apparent to neighbors, Flores said. He described seeing police at the house and witnessing blowups between Ramos and his mother. Multiple people familiar with the family, including Flores, said Ramos’s mother used drugs, which contributed to the upheaval in the home. Ramos’s mother could not be reached for comment.

Ramos moved from the Hood Street home to his grandmother’s home across town a few months ago, Flores said. He said he last saw the grandmother on Sunday, when she stopped by the Hood Street property, which she also owned. The grandmother told him she was in the process of evicting Ramos’s mother because of her drug problems, Flores said.

Reyes said she could recall about five times that Ramos had fistfights with peers in middle school and junior high. His friendships were short-lived, she said. Once, Ramos commented to a friend while playing basketball that the friend only wanted to join the Marines one day so he could kill people, Reyes said. The other boy, she added, ended the friendship on the spot.

“He would take things too far, say something that shouldn’t be said, and then he would go into defense mode about it,” Reyes said.

She and her Uvalde High School school classmates had visited Robb Elementary School just a day before the massacre, wearing their graduation robes and high-fiving the grade-schoolers, who lined up in the hallways — a community tradition.

“Those kids were so excited to see us in our cap and gown,” Reyes said. “They’re looking at us like, ‘I’m gonna be there one day.’ It’s surreal, like we’re in a movie. It’s horrible.”

Valdez said his last interaction with Ramos was about two hours before the shooting, when they messaged on Instagram’s Stories feature. Valdez had re-shared a meme that said “WHY TF IS SCHOOL STILL OPEN.”

According to a screenshot of their exchange, Ramos responded: “Facts” and “That’s good tho right?” Then Valdez replied: “Idek [I don’t even know] I don’t even go to school lmao.”
Ramos never responded to or opened that text message, Valdez said.

Just a month or two ago, Garcia said, he called Ramos to check in on him. But Ramos said he was going hunting with his uncle and didn’t have time to talk. He hung up. Garcia later saw the photos of large guns that Ramos had posted online and wondered whether that was what they were for — going hunting, or to the shooting range with his uncle.

On Tuesday, Garcia was in algebra class in San Antonio when he started receiving a slew of texts with the news of what had happened in Uvalde. He didn’t believe it at first. He opened his phone’s browser and Googled the shooting and saw Ramos’s name.

“I couldn’t even think, I couldn’t even talk to anyone. I just walked out of class, really upset, you know, bawling my eyes out,” Garcia said. “Because I never expected him to hurt people.”

“I think he needed mental help. And more closure with his family. And love.”

America. We have a mental instability problem in America. We ignore clear warning signs, and I mean family members, teachers, pastors, friends, relatives etc. We live in a cocoon always thinking it cannot happen to us or ours. The entire lockdown period during the China Virus did nothing but exacerbate the mental issues of many of our kids as they had no social interaction with piers at an age it is so important and were kept indoors, masked and often left alone, with just violent electronic games to play or a computer or phone to look up and read evil things.

This shooting is not a gun issue. It is not a reason to attack our constitutional rights as free American citizens to own or buy or carry firearms for our protection. An armed society is a polite society. An unarmed society is anarchy where only the bad guys have guns and run amok, fearless of being shot at by the unarmed citizenry.

We must fight this anti gun virulent rhetoric from the left who only sees crisis like this one as a possible way to disarm the citizens and therefore make their ultimate plan of control easier.

We are not Australians. We are not like the people in countries that gave up their firearms without a fight. We are not going to cave like them. We cannot. WE ARE AMERICANS.

The second amendment was put in to protect we, the people, from a tyrannical government, just like the one in power now after stealing the 2020 election. At no other time in modern history has our nation been so divided and the risk to our constitutional republic been so great as under this illegal and I believe treasonous and certainly evil Biden administration.

I grieve for all the families involved in that school in Texas. I pray for them all. I cannot imagine the hurt and pain they are all feeling.

I grieve that those families have to listen to leftist political idealists using the murder of their children for political gain.

My point is that we need to be looking at the real issues here, mental illness, and not just allowing the lefts rhetoric on gun control to allow us to weaken our resolve to keep the right to own and bare arms. It is not a gun problem. It is a mental and social problem.

DeSANTIS SAYS NO WAY TO RAYS: FLA Gov to Veto $35M Facility Over MLB Team’s Anti-Gun Statements

By Hannity Staff, June 3, 2022:

First Disney, now the MLB. Governor Ron DeSantis is done with wokeism and has had enough of companies politicizing events and issues in the Sunshine State.

According to a report from The Daily Wire, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis intends to veto $35 million dollars earmarked for a new training facility for the MLB team the Tampa Bay Rays. DeSantis is making the move in the wake of a wave of recent anti-gun statements released by the team in response to the events in Uvalde and Buffalo.

“DeSantis plans to veto a $35 million legislation for a Pasco County facility that’s earmarked for the Tampa Bay Rays’ spring training,” OutKick reported. “DeSantis’s decision is in response to the Rays politicizing recent shootings in Buffalo and Uvalde ahead of a matchup with the Yankees in May.”

From The Daily Wire…

The decision comes after the Rays published a statement last week saying that the tragedies “have shaken us to the core.”

“This cannot become normal. We cannot become numb. We cannot look the other way,” the statement said. “We all know, if nothing changes, nothing changes.”

The organization added that it was donating tens of thousands of dollars to far-left anti-Second Amendment organizations.

“The Rays organization stands committed to actionable change and has made a $50,000 commitment to Everytown for Gun Safety’s Support Fund,” the statement said.

“Everytown is the largest gun violence prevention organization in America. Rather than our usual game coverage on social media tonight, we’ve partnered with Everytown to amplify facts about gun violence in America.”

The expected move by DeSantis comes after he signed into law back in April a bill that stripped Walt Disney Co. from being able to govern the land where the Disney World theme park is located.

Why I Bought AR-15s for My Sons

According to the Washington Post, 91% of Trump coverage by the three broadcast networks, which include ABC, is negative.  When a right-wing lunatic massacred people of Mexican descent at an El Paso Walmart in August 2019, the networks blamed the attack on Trump’s “hateful” rhetoric about immigrants.

ABC News promptly produced a story to support the mainstream media’s narrative that violence by Trump-supporters had reached epidemic proportions.  Twisting itself into a pretzel in an attempt to justify the charge, the network scoured the country for instances where bad apples among the 63 million people who voted for Trump perpetrated violence allegedly inspired by him.  After an exhaustive search, ABC News came up with a grand total of 36 violent crimes where Trump’s name was invoked.

Some quick math: 36 bad apples divided by 63 million Trump voters equals 0.0000005.  In other words, ABC News hyped a story about violent acts allegedly perpetrated by zero point zero zero zero zero five percent of Trump’s supporters.  That’s five hundred-thousandths of one percent.  Some epidemic.

If ABC News ever decides to do a connect-the-dots story about Democrat bad apples who commit political violence, here are a few examples they can include:

The deranged 24-year-old who murdered nine people in Dayton, Ohio was an Elizabeth Warren–supporter who had been incited by the Democratic Party to hate Republicans, ICE, and the police.

Having been taught to hate Republicans, a Bernie Sanders–supporter shot and nearly killed GOP rep. Steve Scalise.

After Rep. Scalise was shot, Republican rep. Claudia Tenney received an email that read, “One down, 216 to go.”

Seventy-one-year-old female staffer for California GOP Rep. Dana Rohrabacher was knocked unconscious by Trump-hating Democrats during a protest outside Rohrabacher’s office.

The FBI arrested man for threatening to assassinate Republican rep. Martha McSally over her support for Trump.

Trump-hating Democrats threatened the children of ICE contractor’s employees.

Trump-hating Democrats fired multiple shots through the window of a San Antonio ICE office in a targeted attack against the agency that enforces nation’s immigration laws.

Trump-hating Democrats angrily confronted DHS secretary Kirstjen Nielsen at a D.C. restaurant.

According to a hidden camera investigation, Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the DNC sent paid protesters to incite violence at Trump events.

A Trump-hating Democrat waitress in Chicago spat in Eric Trump’s face.

Peter Fonda: “Trump’s 12-year-old son should be ripped from his mother’s arms and put in a cage with pedophiles.”

A Democrat college professor was arrested for beating Trump-supporters with a U-shaped bike lock.

A hate-filled Democrat threatened to kill Trump-supporters at the re-election headquarters of his GOP congressman.

“I’ll f— you up!”: A Democrat instructor assaulted conservative students at anti-Trump campus protest.

Trump-hating Democrats terrified Tucker Carlson’s wife and children at home while he was at work: “Tucker Carlson, we will fight!  We know where you sleep at night!”:

A hate-filled Democrat was arrested for ramming a truck into a Trump voter registration tent filled with volunteers.

A 34-year-old Democrat was arrested for assaulting a 15-year-old Trump-supporter at a polling site.

A Trump-supporter in New Jersey was attacked with a crowbar.

To whatever extent the journalistically corrupt networks reported any of the above incidents, the coverage was fleeting at best, and not once, to the best of my knowledge, have they ever “connected the dots” of such violent incidents, as ABC News did in its political hit job on Trump.

What has happened to the modern Democratic Party?

Just days after the 2016 election, six members of the Democrat front group Red Guards/Austin were arrested for violent attacks on supporters of President Trump.  The six communist revolutionaries are pictured below in booking photos taken by the Austin Police Department.

A few weeks later, after Trump took office, a nighttime protest by Occupy Oakland, another Democrat front group, called on Trump’s opponents to “Become Ungovernable” by inciting chaos across America.  A tweet by the communist group boasted this: “We won this night.  We will liberate this land.  We will fight fascists.  We will dismantle the state.  This is war.”  And war is exactly what was declared by the Democratic Party’s “resistance” to a lawfully elected president, a war on our constitutional system of electing the country’s leader.  Dating to the time Donald Trump became the GOP nominee, the Democratic Party has given a wink and a nod to Red Guards Austin, Occupy Oakland, and every other communist group in America to violently act out hatred not only against Trump, but his supporters as well.

Here’s why I bought AR-15s for my sons: when Lenin was asked how the Bolsheviks planned to keep the Russian masses from listening to counterrevolutionaries, he replied in so many words, “We must teach our followers to direct unbridled hatred toward our opponents.”  A half-century later, Saul Alinsky taught Lenin’s “teach them to hate” strategy to the post-1960s Democratic Party, which turned it into an art form.

In August 2016, before Trump was even elected, frenzied rank-and-file Democrats in Minnesota put Lenin’s strategy into practice by repeatedly punching an elderly man in the kidney and spitting on other attendees who were forced to walk a gauntlet of political hatred as they left a Trump fundraiser in Minneapolis.  Please take 30 seconds to watch how successful the Democratic Party has been at inciting its followers to direct seething hatred toward Republicans.

To the best of my knowledge, not a single prominent Democrat forcefully condemned the outrageous incident in Minneapolis, or hundreds upon thousands of others like it.  And why would they?  With invaluable help from the Clinton campaign and the DNC, their own “resistance” movement has intentionally incited anti-Trump violence at every turn.

When a political party teaches its followers to hate the other side, things are not likely to end well.  If Trump is re-elected, I fear that the party of Marx, Lenin, Alinsky, and Obama will quietly turn loose its dogs of war in a seditious attempt to destabilize America, to make it “ungovernable” until Democrats regain power.  If that happens, widespread anarchy will follow.  And that’s why I bought my law-abiding sons AR-15s and enough ammunition to defend themselves — and their country — against a possible bloody insurrection incited by a once-honorable party that has betrayed the constitutional republic it swore to protect and defend.

Gun Control Activist David Hogg Targets Semi-Automatic Rifles

A survivor of the 2018 massacre on Valentine’s Day at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, and now enrolled at Harvard, student gun control activist David Hogg has become a sought-after speaker at colleges and universities, and the odds are off the chart that he’ll be given a prime-time slot at the Democratic National Convention in August.  While I fully support his right to protest things he thinks are wrong, I respectfully disagree with his belief that school carnage will end if semi-automatic rifles are banned.

When I was in high school in the early 1960s, there were no mass school shootings.  The only times I remember seeing a police officer at school was once a year to give a talk about obeying the law.  Only occasionally were policemen summoned to schools to deal with violent students.  After the profound cultural changes our society has undergone since the 1960s, threatening behavior by troubled students is commonplace — Nikolas Cruz, who used an AR-15 to murder seventeen people at Stoneman Douglas High, was threatening teachers and other students with violence long before he did the unthinkable.

The dramatic increase in violent behavior by students is why most schools in America now have at least one full-time police officer.  Some schools have more, many more.  Like its counterparts in other large cities, the public school system in Detroit has its own police department, which employees hundreds of administrators, investigators, campus police officers, security personnel and a K-9 unit.  Why is it necessary for so many school districts to have their own police department?  The answer is a national tragedy: schools in our largest cities and counties have become dangerous places where lawless behavior by students is so prevalent that police must be close at hand.  Prior to the anything goes ‘sex, drugs and rock & roll’ cultural decay that generally began in 1968, school systems that had their own police department were virtually non-existent.

If, as I believe, banning semiautomatic rifles will not put a dent in school shootings, what will?  Here’s my answer.  Most school shootings are carried out by severely disturbed young white males whose thought processes went haywire due to acute mental illness (bad genes, drugs) or a dysfunctional childhood (bad parenting) — or both, as was the case with Nikolas Cruz.  Another reason for school shootings can be laid squarely at the feet of the corrosive cultural decline of the society in which these deranged mass murderers developed their upside down sense of right and wrong.

The anything-goes progressive culture that permeates virtually every facet our society teaches these young madmen the politically correct concept of moral relativism, the idea that moral judgments are values that can vary, depending on the viewpoints of differing cultural norms.  In other words, there is no clear-cut right and wrong.  If some people believe it’s O.K. to throw gay men from rooftops — an approved practice in some Muslim countries — who’s to say that’s wrong?  It’s what their native culture believes.  In contemporary America, troubled young minds receive mixed messages about what’s permissible and, far more important, what’s totally off limits.

When I was David’s age, kids had ready access to guns, but not to violent imagery.  Young people of today are bombarded with gratuitously violent movies and video games that make the act of pumping bullets into human beings seem almost hip.  Some studies show little connection between such viewing and mass shootings, but how can a constant stream of bloody visual carnage not have a profoundly negative impact on troubled young minds?  The simulated violence that blurs the distinction between fantasy and reality is knowingly mainlined into the consciousness of today’s youth by the entertainment industry and its anything-goes progressive values.

Progressive curriculums in our schools and colleges teach budding white male mass murderers to be ashamed not only of their country, but their skin color, as well.  Their already-confused minds are methodically indoctrinated with the concept of white privilege, a political narrative designed to create racial guilt and self-loathing among white people.  Militant feminism further erodes the self-worth of young white males by stereotyping them with the invented malady known as toxic masculinity.  Message: They’re not only white and male, God forbid, they’re also wildly cruel to women.  The constant assault on their gender and skin color turns some of them into emotionally damaged young men who withdraw into isolation and anger.

Our society’s progressive-dominated culture teaches mentally troubled young white males to loathe themselves, that right and wrong are malleable concepts, and that viewing simulated images of gory violence is a cool way to have fun.  No wonder some of them become mass murderers.  Through its relentless indoctrination in political correctness, multiculturalism, racial politics and feminist victimization, progressivism further screws up the already screwed-up minds of future school shooters.  The dramatic cultural upheaval since I was in school coincides almost perfectly with the sharp increase in self-inflicted deaths by young people: the Journal of the American Medical Association reports that in 2017 the suicide rate among young people reached its highest point since the government began collecting such statistics in 1960.

Would David also ban knives and automobiles?

I read that four times more people are stabbed to death than are killed by rifles, including semi-automatics, such as AR-15s.  I’m not sure if that ratio is entirely accurate, because the FBI’s crime statistics breakdown of the specific kind of gun used to commit murder is somewhat ambiguous.  In any event, a lot of people are killed by knives each year. I’m sure David would agree that those deaths are just as tragic as the ones taken by Nikolas Cruz, yet no sane person would call for banning knives.

Left at rest, a loaded gun is incapable of spontaneously discharging. The only way a gun can kill is if a human picks it up and fires it.  Making guns the scapegoat for school shootings and other mass killings is no different than blaming DUI manslaughters on cars and trucks.  I have never been arrested and have no history of mental illness.  Other than to home invaders and anarchists, my AR-15 poses a threat to no one.  Taking such weapons away from responsible people like me wouldn’t stop a single school shooting.  The battle we face is not against inanimate objects used by deranged people to kill.  The battle is against the mental illnesses, drug addictions and cultural depravity that cause disturbed people to do horrible things.
