Idaho hospital refuses to release medical records of 5-year-old raped by Muslim migrants

The more that comes out about this appalling story, the worse it gets. Authorities appear desperate to protect Muslim migrant criminals at all costs, lest the public get a negative view of the migrant influx. This article contains a good summary of the chain of events.

“Exclusive — Pamela Geller: Hospital Refuses to Release Medical Records of Five-Year-Old Idaho Victim Raped By Muslim Migrants,” by Pamela Geller, Breitbart, July 16, 2016:

A five-year-old girl was raped and urinated upon by three Muslim migrant boys in Twin Falls, Idaho; one of them, a 14-year-old, videotaped the attack. After the attack, instead of getting justice, the victim’s family has been abused and targeted by law enforcement and medical authorities as if they were the criminals. The mother cannot get copies of the medical records of her own child, or transcripts of 9-1-1 calls made on the day of the attack.

In examining notes taken of their conversations with the victim’s mother, I was taken aback by how contemptuous they are of her. They talk down to her, as if she were the perpetrator, not the mother of the victim of this monstrous attack.

It is outrageous. And it gets worse. The supposedly seven-year-old rapist who put his penis in the girl’s mouth, urinated on her and in her mouth, and who reportedly owned the blue pocket knife that he used to threaten her, was never even removed from his home. That family still lives next door to the victim. For the longest time, the attacker wasn’t even limited in his access to the community’s children; now he must be supervised by someone 14 years old or older. When they stipulated this, the court had to have been aware that the boy who videotaped the rape was 14. This a gross insult against this victimized family — and a direct result of a judge’s decision.

Meanwhile, the neighbor of the family who caught the perpetrators in the act, an elderly woman known to all as “Grandma Jo,” has been living in constant terror since she first happened upon the grisly scene. She has been stalked by the Iraqi family of the seven-year-old attacker. Her apartment is back-to-back with theirs; they peer into her windows and pace back and forth in front of her apartment in a clearly menacing manner.

The victim’s family has received no assistance — no financial aid from federal or state programs to help them relocate. It is almost impossible to find a place to rent because of the housing shortage due to the sudden crush of refugees. Rents have gone way up as well. The five-year-old rape victim is still living next door to the ringleader of the Muslim mob that raped her. She is terrified and won’t leave the house, as the attacker’s family members walk by the victim’s family’s windows and taunt them.

The poor girl desperately does want to play outside, but it isn’t safe to do so without parental supervision. Recently a carload of Muslim males pulled up in front of mother and daughter. The car stopped and its occupants stared them down. The mother witnessed one of the males run into the house and get something that appeared cylinder-like: at the time she was afraid it was a gun. Moments later, their house was being struck by bottle rockets. This isn’t an isolated case in Twin Falls, as there have been other reports of American homeowners having their homes struck by bottle rockets. And let’s be serious: these people are not celebrating the Fourth of July or Americanism.

The prosecuting attorney has gone out of his way to imply that this rape was false information. His interviews have led the media and public officials to deny clear facts of the case. The U.S. Attorney for Idaho even vowed to charge anyone who made false statements about the perps. The Hamas-tied Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has whined that the case has become “a lightning rod for anti-Muslim, and anti-refugee sentiments.”

A source close to this horrifying case has struck back against the disinformation being propagated in the case, and sent me a complete time line of events. So here at last is what really happened, straight from someone who was deeply involved the whole time.

On Thursday, June 2, 2016, the little girl was assaulted by Muslim migrant boys: two Sudanese boys aged around 10 and 14, one Iraqi boy around seven years old. The girl said that they used a knife and dragged her to an apartment laundry room at Fawnbrook apartments in Twin Falls. They were caught in the act by a neighbor — Grandma Jo. According to Grandma Jo, when she opened the laundry room door, she saw two boys standing over the naked victim, urinating on her and “pulling” themselves. She told the attackers to get dressed. Then she helped the victim get dressed (in her urine-soaked clothing). A neighbor arrived to help, and the victim was taken to her family apartment. Her maternal grandmother arrived, the girl was washed and dressed, and the family called 911 three times.

Before the police arrived, the 14-year-old attacker disappeared. Eventually, Twin Falls County Sheriff personnel arrived, as well as police. They took statements. The two attackers who could be found were “scolded” and told to obey Grandma Jo. The police warned them to be good or they would come get them in a large school bus and take them to jail; they were told to obey Grandma Jo in order to avoid this.

That evening, the little girl was taken to the Emergency Room at Saint Luke’s Hospital, where she was examined for rape and blood work was taken. The girl’s parents say that at Children at Risk Evaluation Services (CARES), she was examined by a Dr. Reese. She was told to go for second evaluation on June 6 with CARES doctors. It is unclear if at this or any other time the assailants were frisked, examined, or subjected to blood or urine tests. They were not restrained or removed from their homes.

The next day, two police detectives interviewed Grandma Jo in her home. A police detective, J. R. Paredez, brought the victim a stuffed toy.

On Monday, June 6, CARES interviewed the little girl while Detective Paredez and two counselors watched. Photographic evidence was taken of what was taken at the time by the girl’s parents and a doctor to be a cut on her neck, as well as of her private area. Days later, however, the girl’s mother called CARES for an update and was told that the neck cut was actually just a scratch, and that this was determined by “blood vessel” appearance – an evaluation based on examination of a photo, not a reexamination of the victim.

The family put the victim in a day-care center in order to remove her from proximity to the perpetrators, who continued to run unrestrained in the complex. The victim’s family is poor; their sister-in-law paid the center’s $500 bill.

On June 7, KMVT, a local TV news station, published a Facebook news story on possible sexual assault at Fawnbrook.

Six days later, on June 13, citizens address the Twin Falls City Council during “public input” to question them about the rape of the child. The next day, a collection was taken up for the girl’s family; they were presented with the money on June 15.

On June 16, the Prosecuting Attorney’s office called the family while the supporter who had taken up the collection for them was visiting their home. Both parents spoke to Janice Kroeger, the Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, and told her that they wanted the attackers prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The next day, a detective called the family at 11:45 a.m. to say that warrants would be issued for the arrest of the attackers, but time was needed to process them. The family was fearful of backlash from the families of the perpetrators. Several individuals began video surveillance of the area.

On Saturday, June 18, two of the perpetrators, both Sudanese Muslim migrants, were arrested. Kroeger called the victim’s family from the Prosecuting Attorney’s office to tell them that the arraignment would be Monday, June 20, at 1:00 p.m. The father of the victim told Kroeger that the family insisted on being involved in all the hearings. Curiously, Kroeger questioned his interest in the case.

At the Sudanese boys’ arraignment hearing that Monday, the family of the victim and a “nonprofessional” support person were in the courtroom. Notably, Angela “Angie” Beeson, the Director of Victim Services, was not present.

Outside of the courtroom, the parents of the victim and several of their supporters, along with Jeff Rolig, an attorney for Fawnbrook apartments, the apartment manager, Detective Paredez, and a Sergeant Wright of the Twin Falls police had a conversation about the knife that the victim (and others) said was used by the perpetrators. (The fourteen-year-old attacker had cut an eight-year-old girl two weeks before this attack; the boy used his blue pocket knife. The mother of this child had entered a complaint against him at the time of the rape, but later dropped it for fear of retaliation.)

On June 20, the family met with Grant P. Loebs, the prosecuting attorney, and Janice Kroegar at the Prosecuting Attorney’s office. Loebs rambled through a “victim’s services package list” and stated that Angela Beeson would be the victim’s advocate for the family. The parents requested a restraining order, but Loebs and Kroegar appeared uncertain if a seven-year-old could have such an order filed against him. Loebs said that he had given three interviews in order to “clear up” the confusion and “set the facts straight.” Loebs stated that “the system” was “not prepared” to deal with a seven-year-old.

Later that day, Twin Falls Police Chief Craig Kingsbury made a public statementpraising the police department, CARES, and the City Council. He called the rape “lewd and lascivious” and said it was a case of “boys acting out.”

During the next week, a supporter of the family, Julie Ruf, took dictation from Grandma Jo for her sworn affidavit. Ruf typed it up as it was spoken to her. Grandma Jo reviewed the affidavit and then took it to her bank, signed it and had it notarized. She then gave it to the victim’s parents so they could give it to their attorney.

On June 21, the Twin Falls Police Department sent an officer to search the Fawnbrook apartment complex for the knife. The officer spoke to a friend of the family who informed him that the knife was known to be a blue pocket knife that the perpetrators hid in a Russian olive tree on an empty lot nearby. Officer confirmed that the area around the tree appeared to have someone “hang out there often.” Then pictures were taken with him and kids in his police car.

On June 23, the Sudanese boys were arraigned for a second time. They were released to their parents and a second Sudanese family. Angie Beeson discussed court procedure with the parents of the victim. A supporter of the family warned Beeson that if the boys were released, they may be a flight risk; Angie answered that they would just need to be arrested again if they fled. Papers were signed by victim’s parents, but it is uncertain what they were. An observer in courtroom indicated that Janice Kroeger didn’t appear confident and was apparently reading from a book; at one point, Kroeger actually asked the judge if she was doing okay (in reference to her actions in the proceedings).

On the same day, Fawnbrook apartments issued an eviction notice to both the Sudanese and Iraqi families that were involved in the rape. The Sudanese immediately began to move out, and were gone by Monday the 27th.

The next day, Wendy J. Olson, U.S. Attorney for Idaho, issued her notorious statementwarning that giving out “false information” about the perpetrators could violate federal law.

On June 24, a No-Contact order was issued, as per the parents of the victim’s request, against all three assailants. Sergeant Wright stated that it would not be entered into the Police Department’s record until days later.

On June 27, the mother of victim called 911 offices in Twin Falls to request a copy of her public record 911 transcripts. The woman on the phone told her that she wasn’t sure that the victim’s mother would be “allowed” to have those, and that she would need to contact the prosecutor’s office. The prosecuting attorney’s office called back with the answer that no documents would be handed over until the case was closed, because it was a sealed case.

That afternoon at a meeting of the Twin Falls City Council meeting, Twin Falls Mayor Shawn Barigar gave a soliloquy absolving the City Council of responsibility and telling the community to calm down. Julie Ruf told the council that the Iraqi child was still running free in the complex and playing among the other children. The victim and her family, consequently, were shut away in their home to protect themselves. From this evening on, the Iraqi boy remained mostly in his apartment, as did his mother or grandmother (it was difficult to determine which she was).

Also on June 27, Nevada Assemblywomen Michele Fiore and Shelly Shelton were traveling through Twin Falls on the way home, and stopped at Fawnbrook to offer aid and comfort to the victim and her family. Fiore called Detective Paredez to ask him for the case number (which the parents did not have), and was treated disrespectfully by him.

On June 28, Olson issued a second statement to clarify her inflammatory and authoritarian June 24 statement.

That day, the parents met at Jaker’s restaurant in Twin Falls with attorney Bruce Skaug. The parents requested that Julie Ruf remain with them during this meeting, but Skaug insisted otherwise, and Ruf left. The parents then signed a contract with Skaug — under duress, due to their vulnerable emotional condition. They gave Skaug Grandma Jo’s affidavit. Despite their subsequent requests that he return it, he has not done so.

In Jaker’s restaurant, Julie Ruf saw, at another table with the private investigator for Bruce Skaug, another attorney, Jeff Rolig. He was seated in a booth that placed him shoulder-to-shoulder with Skaug, with a glass and pony wall divider between them.

On June 29, the parents of the victim told Skaug to cease work on the case and to send them a copy of their contract and his billable hours.

The mother of the victim went with her neighbor to the Twin Falls Police Department: the neighbor intended to drop charges against same Iraqi boy who knifed her daughter two weeks before the rape. While she was there, Detective Paredez, Sergeant Wright, and another officer asked to speak with the victim’s mother. They escorted her behind two locked security doors and proceeded to grill and intimidate her until she was crying. Paredez specifically mentioned Assemblywoman Michele Fiore’s phone call.

The victim’s mother had called Julie Ruf, but Ruf arrived after the police had escorted her to a back room. Ruf asked to be taken to her since she had requested it, but no officer was sent to unlock the double security doors.

Upon returning to lobby, the victim’s mother was visibly shaken, but proceeded in the lobby with a written request for her 911 transcripts. She passed the written request through the deposit drawer in the lobby. No proof of the request, or denial of it, was given to her.

On July 6, the parents called Skaug and left him a message, again to dismiss him as their lawyer. They asked him for a copy of their signed contract and billable hours, and asked him to return their paperwork.

That same day, the mother called CARES for a copy of her daughter’s medical records. A CARES employee told her that CARES does not release records and transferred her call to a second CARES employee, identified as Sarah. There followed a discussion about counseling for the victim. Sarah said that CARES did not print out medical records and told the victim’s mother that Paredez had the paperwork, and that it may already have been submitted to the prosecuting attorney.

The mother of the victim then called Paredez, using the police department’s general number). She asked him for the CARES medical records. Paredez responded that they were in the case file, and told that mother that she would need to fill out another public record request for the release of the CARES medical records.

The mother then called Angie Beeson for help with the release of the public records and medical records. Beeson told her that the case was sealed, that the parents may need to be witnesses if the case went to trial, and that “everything needs to be from your own mind.” She told the mother: “You as a mother can’t be denied medical records, but CARES may not release the records,” and that the prosecuting attorney couldn’t release anything until the case was over. The mother of victim offered to file a written request for the records; Beeson said that she would need to ask Grant Loebs, but that she shouldn’t need to put it in writing, that her word should be good enough.

The next day, July 7, Grant Loebs called the mother of victim to tell her that he had received notice from Bruce Skaug that he had been dismissed. Loebs directly asked the mother of victim why the family had dismissed Skaug; they did not give him an answer.

On July 8, there was an Admit or Deny hearing for the seven-year-old Iraqi attacker, with Judge Thomas Borreson presiding. The boy pleaded not guilty. The Protection Order against the boy was altered from 300 yards to 100 feet, and included the supervision of someone 14 and older. He remains in his home with his “mother” and unidentified adult males.

On July 9 at 11:00PM, the mother of the victim called Julie Ruf; she had been frightened by a carload of male Muslims who stopped in front of her apartment building and stared at her. She had allowed her daughter to play late after the other children went in — sunset was at about 9:30PM. She saw one male go into an apartment and get something before she went into her own home. As far as she could see, what he got appeared to be a firearm.

By 11:30PM, the family was hearing loud noises. The mother texted and then called Ruf again. Something began hitting their house. Ruf advised them to call the Twin Falls Police Department. The police arrived quickly and told the family that they believed that what had been hitting the house were bottle rockets being fired by teens nearby. The family had a terrified and sleepless night.

On July 12, Angie Beeson called father of the victim to inform him that she would no longer be acting as their advocate. She said they should contact Grant Loebs as their advocate, and also said that she would be mailing them something. Loebs later called the victim’s mother, but she did not answer. When he called again, she did answer, and Loebs talked for a very long time. He informed her that he would be their advocate now, and that they were not to contact Beeson. Loebs suggested that Beeson may have been threatened, but didn’t say so directly.

On July 13, Susan Tully of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) met with people in Twin Falls, after which she was invited to meet the victims. She apparently called Angie Beeson to attempt to resolve the victim’s issues. It is unclear whether or not she reached Beeson, but the victim’s mother was notified later that day that Tully had spoken to the prosecutor, who made sure that Tully understood that the victim’s parents could go see the paperwork (including the 911 transcripts and medical report), but could not have or make copies.

That night, at the Twin Falls County Precinct committee meeting, Loebs spoke to the Republican members (about 35 to 40 people). An eyewitness said that Loebs referred to “the alleged raping,” claimed that there was a “quick response of the police department,” and said that the media was making things seem much worse than they were, as the incident had been “blown out of proportion.” He said that “two of the three suspects were arrested and held for four days.”

Loebs also said: “The victim’s family is confused; I spoke to them for twenty minutes the day before.” He added, “Twin Falls is not a corrupt place, it’s safe,” and said, that the case was not significant, as there were other rape cases.

This travesty of justice is ongoing. It must end. Contact these people and demand justice for this poor little girl and her family:

So Much for Democracy — Marijuana Industry Kills Ballot Initiative

Colorado’s marijuana industry, brought into being by a state ballot initiative, stopped citizens from floating a public-health initiative by paying companies hundreds of thousands of dollars NOT to collect signatures for it. The initiative, Amendment 139, would have limited THC potencies and required health warnings on labels and child protective packaging.

Background

Some 26 states and the District of Columbia allow citizens to write laws and take them to voters. Americans who live in the other 24 states are generally not aware of how the ballot initiative process works.

In his book, Democracy Derailed: Initiative Campaigns and the Power of Money, journalist David Broder, now deceased, revealed how political campaigns and moneyed special interest groups are threatening our democracy.

“Government by initiative is not only a radical departure from the Constitution’s system of checks and balances,” he wrote, “it is also a big business, in which lawyers and campaign consultants, signature-gathering firms, and other players sell their services to affluent interest groups or millionaire do-gooders with private policy and political agendas.” Many don’t live in the states whose laws they are writing.

Signature-gathering firms? To place an initiative on the ballot, most initiative states require proponents to collect signatures from a given percent of people who voted in the last election. The standard is five percent, but it can vary from state to state.

There are actually businesses whose single purpose is to pay people, usually from $2 to $5 per signature, to go out and collect them. In fact, all of the ballot initiatives that have legalized marijuana for medical or recreational use, have succeeded because proponents were able to pay millions of dollars to collect enough signatures to get their measures on the ballot and then pay millions more to promote them to voters in TV commercials.

With the exception of Florida last year, opponents of these measures have been unable to come close to matching proponents’ riches, raising only thousands vs millions of dollars. Where’s the check and balance in that?

Amendment 139

Last week, we reported that a court decision gave a group of Colorado citizens, Healthy Colorado, clearance to begin collecting signatures for Amendment 139.

Colorado’s marijuana industry claimed that 139’s THC cap would shut down the industry. It took the issue to the state Supreme Court to challenge the initiatives and reduce the amount of time proponents had to collect signatures. But the Court ruled in Healthy Colorado’s favor two months later.

With polls showing widespread support for the amendment, the marijuana industry struck back by paying signature-gathering firms NOT to gather signatures for Amendment 139.

“The 139 opponents went out and bought up some of the most important circulators in the state, and without them we didn’t have the ability to get it to the ballot,” said a 139 spokesman. “They went out and paid these circulating firms to not circulate petitions for 139.”

Last Friday, July 8, Healthy Colorado withdrew Amendment 139.

Said Ali Pruitt, a Denver mother and a designated representative of Amendment 139, “As concerned moms, dads, teachers and friends, we simply couldn’t keep up with the financial costs brought on by the underhanded tactics and baseless delays used by the marijuana industry to keep us off of the ballot. The marijuana industry built a wall of money between us and the November ballot that we simply couldn’t break through.”

Added Healthy Colorado member Jo McGuire, “Unlimited THC has allowed the marijuana industry to create marijuana by-products that pose a public health and safety risk. THC potencies as high as 80 to 90 percent have not only caused an upsurge in Colorado ER visits and hospitalizations, but also have caused psychotic episodes that have led to death. The industry has refused to hear voters’ concerns by disabling the very process by which it introduced legalization in Colorado in 2012.”

Leftist Nightmare: Black Conservatives Running for Office [+Video]

Someone passed on to me the latest video commentary by black conservative AlfonZo Rachel. Awesome! The brother boldly speaks the truth with humor, passion and intelligence.

I first met Zo about 7 years ago.

His video caused me to reminisce about how we black conservatives have been out there on the front lines for many years; trying to wake up fellow blacks, encouraging them to liberate themselves from government and Democrat party slavery.

Some blacks are just plain stuck on stupid. Sorry folks, but that’s the truth. I have an idiot relative in mind. No matter what facts I show him about how blacks continue to suffer greatly due to Obama and democrat policies, his reply is I should be ashamed of myself for not supporting our black president.

Liberal mainstream media have done an excellent job keeping black conservatives off American’s radar. Leftist’s greatest fear is for the masses to hear blacks expressing love for their country; saying they don’t hate or resent fellow Americans who are white; blacks who don’t believe they are owed anything and believe they can succeed without democrats lowering standards or government intervention.

When I toured on Tea Party Express, CNN was embedded, producing a documentary. They were with us for at least 35 tea party rallies. I spoke and opened each rally singing my “American Tea Party Anthem.” Also traveling with us were various black conservative speakers, politicians and authors. And yet, when CNN aired their documentary, not a single black participant was featured. CNN’s sin of omission contributed to my dad believing the left’s lie that the tea party movement is racist, a bunch of scary redneck white people.

As I stated, the liberal mainstream media have done a great job keeping black conservative sightings almost as rare as Bigfoot sightings. Race exploitation profiteers Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are household names among blacks. Meanwhile, my dad and most blacks that I know never heard of black conservative national radio talk show host, entrepreneur and businessman extraordinaire Herman Cain until his brief presidential campaign.

Leftists claim to be advocates for blacks. Given the epidemic of black school dropouts, fatherless households, unemployment and crime plaguing urban blacks, one would assume Leftists would celebrate Herman Cain as a role model of what can be achieved via hard work and right choices. Instead, Leftists (liberal media, NAACP, Congressional Black Caucus and so-called civil rights advocates) despise Herman Cain. Cain contradicts Leftist’s story-line that America is racist and only voting for democrats and total dependency on government can save blacks.

For years, the only black conservatives I knew of and heard on national media were Walter Williams, Dr. Thomas Sowell and Mychal Massie of Project 21. I first met Mychal about 6 years ago and was pretty starstruck. Today, Mychal is a dear conservative friend, still fighting the good fight.

There’s a new crop of black conservatives entering the political arena. It does my heart good hearing about young blacks who rejected drinking the Left’s America-sucks-and-you’re-entitled-to-other-peoples’-hard-earned-stuff Kool-Aid.

I am extremely excited to report that black conservative/Republican Darryl Glenn is running for the Colorado US Senate seat. Glenn, endorsed by Ted Cruz, plans to knock off Democrat incumbent Senator Michael Bennet. Anything you can do to assist this rock-solid conservative is greatly appreciated.

A black conservative whom I greatly respect told me he dislikes adding race into the equation. He dislikes saying we need more black conservatives. He thinks we should say we need more conservatives. Period. While I see his point, the reality is the Left has made race an issue. They say if you’re black and conservative, you are stupid, mentally ill and a betrayer of your people. We need more black conservatives in office, in the high-profile big arena, spreading truth.

Another powerful black conservative still out there fighting the good fight is Niger Innis. Niger’s late dad was civil rights icon, Roy Innis. Unlike the despicable race profiteers of today, Mr Innis was a “for real” civil rights activist. I came across a debate on YouTube between Al Sharpton and Roy Innis on the Morton Downey Jr TV show. It got so heated that Mr. Innis physically pushed Sharpton out of his chair. While I have never seen Niger get up into liberal’s grill, he is the Left’s worse nightmare; a black articulate upbeat advocate for conservatism; a politician, tea party activist and spokesperson.

I met sister Dr Alveda King years ago when we were panelist at a DC press conference. I was a bit starstruck meeting the niece of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. As a black conservative activist, Alveda’s calling and passion is centered around the issue of abortion. Blacks are aborting themselves into extinction.

Years ago at an event, a hostess approached me with a black conservative she wanted to introduce to me. He planned to run for congress. It was Colonel Allen West, U.S. Army (Retired). Wow, need I say more.

Black conservative powerhouse, Star Parker is a former welfare cheat. You can imagine how upsetting it is to liberal democrats to have lost her. Using her personal story, Star exposes how welfare dependency destroys black families

There are numerous other black conservatives out there that have been spreading the good news of conservatism for a long time; underfunded and underexposed due to liberal mainstream media bias.

It took years, but I finally led my black brother to the light of conservatism. He had dinner with a group of black buddies. After one guy had a few adult beverages, he verbally attacked my brother for his conservative political views. “You’re a white man! And I bet you’re even a Republican!” My brother took out his voter registration card, held it up for them to see and proudly proclaimed, “You’re right, I am a Republican.”

Folks, we black conservatives still have much work to do, breaking down old stereotypes and democrat/liberal media lies and deceptions.

Americans Say 2016 Election ‘More Important Than Any Other In Recent History’

WASHINGTON, D.C. /PRNewswire/ — Weary of political gridlock in Washington, but determined to find solutions to the nation’s most pressing issues, Americans hope a collaboration between entities closer to home – state and local governments, businesses, nonprofits or individuals – will move the country forward, according to a new Heartland Monitor Poll released today by The Allstate Corporation (NYSE: ALL) and Atlantic Media.

As the 2016 general election campaign kicks off, the 26th Allstate-Atlantic Media Heartland Monitor Poll gauges Americans’ opinions on current trends shaping the country, including our most important issues, our greatest opportunities and challenges and where we look for solutions. The results reveal an engaged citizenry that believes key national issues such as political gridlock, education and national security make this election more important than past contests (63 percent).

A growing disillusionment with the federal government’s effectiveness, however, means people aren’t waiting for D.C. to address their everyday issues.

“We’ve been asking Americans for eight years which issues are most important to them, and we heard loud and clear in Heartland 26 they believe it’ll take non-traditional partnerships at the local level to move the country forward,” said Bill Vainisi, senior vice president and deputy general counsel, Law and Regulation, Allstate. “While people continue to look to the federal government for large-scale change, we realize that takes time. As a network of small businesses in nearly every community in America, Allstate knows how critical local innovators are to improving lives from the ground up.”

Americans believe partisan politics are impeding progress when it comes to the nation’s most concerning problems, though there is an overall belief in the resiliency of the American people.

  • Nearly all Americans (92 percent) say the political system in Washington isn’t working well enough to produce solutions to the country’s problems.
  • The gridlock in Washington is a problem felt by everyone, regardless of party lines: Eighty percent of both Republicans and Independents, as well as 63 percent of Democrats, say it’s a serious problem.
  • Almost half of Americans (47 percent) are looking beyond the federal government, saying it will take a new, innovative partnership between some combination of businesses, local governments, non-profits and individuals to move the country forward.

While Americans are frustrated by inaction in Washington and remain uncertain about the country’s economic future, they feel more optimistic toward their personal financial situations.

  • Most Americans think their current personal financial situation is good (39 percent) or fair (35 percent). One-in-10 (9 percent) say they have an excellent personal financial situation, while 14 percent label their financial situation as poor.
  • More Americans believe their personal financial situation will improve (39 percent) than become worse (9 percent) over the next year. Nearly half believe their finances will stay the same (46 percent).
  • Twenty-two percent expect the national economy to improve over the next year, while 25 percent think it will worsen over that same period. Thirty-eight percent expect it to stay the same.
  • Americans are enthusiastic about some trends they’re seeing:
    • Americans are saving more money than they did before the economic crash of 2008 (37 percent mostly positive impact on the country); and
    • Americans are becoming increasingly self-employed, including working in flexible positions through the sharing economy (34 percent mostly positive impact on the country).

The political division on the national level is driving engagement among Americans, many of whom perceive the upcoming election as more important and potentially more impactful than past elections.

  • Nine-in-10 Americans (90 percent) believe this election will affect America’s standing in the world. Only 4 percent believe it will not have much impact, and 3 percent think it will have no impact at all.
  • Among registered voters and those planning to register before the general election, three-quarters (75 percent) say they will definitely cast a ballot in November. Another 9 percent say they will probably vote, and 7 percent say there’s a 50/50 chance they will make it to the polls.
    • Six-in-10 registered voters who did not vote or participate in their state’s primary or caucus (62 percent) say they will definitely make it to the polls in November. More than a quarter are considering casting a ballot (16 percent probably vote and 11 percent 50/50 chance of voting).
    • More than eight-in-10 registered voters who did vote or participate in their state’s primary or caucus (84 percent) say they will definitely make it to the polls in November.
  • Despite their beliefs about the importance of the election, Americans largely feel only incremental change, if any, will occur if their preferred candidate is elected: Forty percent foresee minor progress and 19 percent predict no change.
  • The prospect of the election’s impact on personal quality of life is expected to be much less than the impact made on the world.  Four-in-10 (41 percent) say it will have a great deal of impact on their personal life, and another 29 percent say it will have a moderate impact. A quarter (25 percent) believe the election will have either little or no impact.
    • There is a stark age and gender divide when it comes to Americans’ perceptions of the impact of the upcoming election:
      • Women and Americans 50 years and older are more likely than their counterparts to say they will see a great deal of impact caused by this election.
      • Eighty-five percent of women 50 years and older say this election will have a great deal of impact on America’s standing in the world. Slightly less confident, 73 percent of the other gender and age combinations, (men 18-49, women 18-49, men 50+) believe the election will have a great impact.
      • Half of women 50 years and older (51 percent) say the election will have a great deal of impact on their personal quality of life. The other gender and age combinations are less likely to say it will have a great impact on their life (for example, 31 percent of men and 41 percent of women ages 18-49, as well as 44 percent of men ages 50+).

“These findings signal that after years of stalemate and partisan paralysis in Washington, most Americans’ first instinct now is to look for change instigated from the bottom up rather than the top down,” said Ronald Brownstein, Atlantic Media’s editorial director for strategic partnerships. “The political credo the poll suggests might be summarized as: argue nationally, act locally.”

Survey Methodology
The 26th installment of the Allstate/Atlantic Media Heartland Monitor Poll, conducted June 19-24, 2016, comprises questions asked in the final months leading up to the 2016 presidential election: How do Americans view the current trends shaping the country? What are the biggest problems and who do we look towards to fix the issues? Will the 2016 Presidential election make a difference? The survey was conducted among a national sample of 1,000 American adults age 18+, with 500 reached via cell phone and 500 reached via landline. The margin of error for a sample of 1,000 is +/- 3.1 in 95 out of 100 cases.

HEALTH ALERT: Three Cases of Active TB in Vermont in the last seven months

And, their treatment expenses are coming out of your wallets! Isn’t diversity beautiful!

See our previous post—-what is Vermont hiding?

TB cdc

This CDC info graphic says even Latent TB cases entering the U.S. must be identified and treated. So what is all this costing us?

More from Michael Patrick Leahy at Breitbart:

A spokesperson for the Vermont Department of Health confirms to Breitbart News that “three refugees [have been] diagnosed with TB in Vermont over the past seven months.”

One case was diagnosed in December 2015, and the other two cases were diagnosed in 2016.

No one other than a refugee has been diagnosed with active TB in Vermont during the first six months of 2016, the spokesperson adds.

The stunning admission comes after Breitbart News reported that the number of active TB cases in Vermont tripled from two in 2014 to seven in 2015.

More here.

I don’t want to become an expert on refugee health, but you might be interested if you have some connection to the medical field or are in regular close contact with the refugees newly arriving in the US.

Just now I had a look at the Centers for Disease Control guidelines for refugee health screening and what I don’t get is this: refugees are domestically screened between 30 and 90 days of arrival.  How many people have interacted or come in contact with a refugee family and then don’t learn for 30 to 90 days that someone in the family has TB (or HIV or parasites or other transmittable health conditions)?

Wisconsin: Muslim Tuberculosis Capital of America

Michael Patrick Leahy has published one more investigative report on Tuberculosis in the U.S. refugee population. Go to our ‘health issues’ category by clicking here to see his previous reports.

Here is the latest, hot off the presses this morning:

Twenty-seven recently resettled refugees were among the 117 cases of active tuberculosis (TB) diagnosed in Wisconsin in 2014 and 2015, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. That makes the Badger State the new refugee TB capital of the United States.

TB_poster

Wisconsin replaces Louisiana as the state with the most reported cases of active TB among recently resettled refugees in the country.

As Breitbart News has reported previously, twenty-one cases of active TB were diagnosed among recently resettled refugees in Louisiana between 2011 and 2015.

Six other states have reported recently resettled refugees have been diagnosed with active TB: Florida (eleven), Colorado (ten), Idaho (seven), Indiana (four), Kentucky (nine in one county), and North Dakota (four in one county).

Wisconsin may not be the actual leader, though. Only eight of the forty nine states that resettle refugees under the federal refugee resettlement program have responded to Breitbart News requests to provide this important public health data, which resettlement agencies are required by law to monitor and report in each state.

Lots more here!

One more HUGE example of the secrecy surrounding the Refugee Admissions Program in America!

EndNote: I’m going to ask again if anyone knows if volunteers working with the resettlement contractors are given any information on how to stay safe from health risks associated with refugees coming here directly from the third world.

ACLU sues US Bishops: If you take refugee resettlement money then you must accept abortion

The US Conference of Catholic Bishops receives millions of dollars each year to place thousands of refugees (including many Muslims in your towns) and we have long argued that your tax dollars should not be paid to federal contractors masquerading as religious charities.

Catholic-Bishops-e1445073388915

So no sympathy here as the ACLU files suit against the Bishops for accepting taxpayer dollars and then restricting abortions and contraceptive availability to the ‘unaccompanied alien children’ in their care.  When they take Caesar’s money, they must follow Caesar’s rules!  They can’t have it both ways!

From Life News.com:

For decades, U.S. Catholic agencies have been on the front lines helping to provide young immigrants and refugees with the physical and emotional support they need after they arrive in America.

But a new lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union could put the much-needed aid programs in jeopardy.

The ACLU recently filed a lawsuit against the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), arguing that the government should not give money to the Catholic aid programs because they do not refer or provide abortions or birth control to young, unaccompanied minor refugees and immigrants, the New York Times reports. The ACLU argues in the lawsuit that the agencies are legally required to provide access to contraception and abortion because they receive government funding.

[….]

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, which oversees the agencies, received almost $10 million in government funding to help unaccompanied minor immigrants and refugees in 2014, according to the report.

[….]

ACLU Senior Staff Attorney Brigitte Amiri said, “We are shocked and deeply concerned to see history repeating itself with millions of taxpayer dollars funneled into the hands of a religious group that has a long history of refusing critical health care services to the most vulnerable people in their care.”

This “critical health care” is talking about abortion, which, by not supporting, lets the group “impose their religious beliefs on others,” according to the ACLU.

Television Is Making Kids Gay: ‘They’re Putting it on Our Culture’ [Video]

Lil Boosie believes that the industry is trying to force children to be gay by introducing them to more gay characters on television.

“You got cartoons that have gays. On Cartoons! These are kids. Let kids make their own decision if they wanna go that way. Six and seven year old, five year old shouldn’t be turned onto gay cartoon when their mind not even developed yet. What if they like how that cartoon talk? Now, you’re forcing them to be gay. Every TV show is gays. They’re kissing each other. It’s out of hand.”

Boosie isn’t scared to speak his mind whether it’s on social media or in an interview with DJ Vlad. This year, the rapper caused come controversy when he blasted homosexuality being displayed on reality shows and even on his children’s favorite cartoons. Although, the Baton Rouge native says he has nothing against the gay community, he’s concerned that they are forcing homosexuality on people for monetary gain.

Civilization that Honors Its Heretics

Freedoms – they are the foundation of our way of life; of our civilization – a civilization that learned, slowly and painfully, not to burn heretics, but to honor them. In a few days, I will join my fellow American friends in celebrating our hard-won freedoms.

Ayaan_Citizenship_Photo-1.jpgWhen I received a visa to enter the US, I told myself to be worthy of that visa. Like other immigrants, I came here with a dream. While my fight to free myself of oppression may be over, my dream to see others freed too is what inspires my work.

One of the early suffragettes, Alva Belmont, said that American women must serve as a beacon of light, telling not only the story of what they have accomplished, but also representing a lasting determination that women around the world shall be “free citizens, recognized as the equals of me.”

I have spent more than a decade fighting for women’s and girls’ basic rights. I have never been afraid to ask difficult questions about the role of culture and religion in that fight. And to shed light on oppression and abuse that are forced on many women in the US.

In my books, lectures and my work with the AHA Foundation, I aim to inspire those listening to think of the others, those women and girls who are still locked in the chains I left behind. In this world, girls – still children – are married to adult men they have often never met, sentenced to a life of arranged rape. Women, many of whom may long to live productive, working lives, are instead confined within the walls of their father’s or husband’s house. Girls and women are abused, verbally or physically, for a sidelong glance, a suspicion of lipstick, a text message, an open expression of untraditional sexuality.

They have nowhere to turn because their parents, community and religious leaders approve of these deadening punishments. And what is still surprising to many of my fellow Americans, these hurting children and women live among us – in the land of the free.

AHA1.jpgMany people in the United States today seem more worried about being labeled “bigoted” or “racist” for speaking out against harmful traditional practices such as honor violence than about the practices themselves. In my view, that is downright immoral. Simply stated, there is no honor in honor violence. It is criminal.

Honor violence, forced marriage, and female genital mutilation are crimes being perpetrated today against women and girls who live in this country. They are US citizens. They are our neighbors, classmates, patients, students, employees, and friends. They are hurt, shamed and even at risk of being killed. They desperately need our help. They deserve to have, just like you and I, a chance to pursue their happiness.

In a country that is built on values of freedom, openness and tolerance it is the duty of each one of us to ensure all our fellow citizens have access to these values.

As you prepare to celebrate Independence Day this 4th of July, I hope the words of Alva Belmont inspire you to show your solidarity with the girls and women right here in the US who don’t have freedoms you and I are fortunate enough to enjoy.

Has the ‘ticking time bomb of TB’ gone off in your state?

Michael Patrick Leahy has released another in a series of investigative reports on Tuberculosis and other communicable diseases permitted entry to the U.S. with the refugee flow to 48 states (and soon to one more—Montana).

And, if you are saying to yourself, sheesh Idaho again!, remember this is happening where you live or will happen where you live. Wyoming is the only state that has been wise enough to stay out of the whole messy business.

Lavinia Limon cspan

Lavinia Limon runs the major federal contracting agency resettling refugees in Twin Falls through her subcontractor the College of Southern Idaho. She was Bill Clinton’s director of the Office of Refugee Resettlement and in this bio her affiliation with USCRI still lists USCRI’s previous names—why did they change their name twice, does anyone know?

Here is the Leahy story at Breitbart yesterday that up until the Islamic terror attack in Turkey yesterday was the lead story on Drudge:

Seven refugees with active tuberculosis (TB) were diagnosed shortly after their resettlement in Idaho between 2011 and 2015, according to the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.

This makes Idaho the seventh state to confirm to Breitbart News that recently arrived refugees have been diagnosed with active TB.

The other states in which recently arrived refugees have been diagnosed with active TB include: Louisiana (twenty-one), Florida (eleven), Colorado, (ten), Indiana (four), Kentucky (where nine were diagnosed in one county), and North Dakota (where four refugees who resided in the United States for less than five years were diagnosed in one county).

Idaho is one of fourteen states that have withdrawn from the federal refugee resettlement program where the federal government has hired a voluntary agency (VOLAG) to resettle refugees under the statutorily questionable Wilson Fish alternative program.

In Idaho, the federal government has contracted the Idaho Office for Refugees a division of the large non-profit known as Janus, to run the program. Janus is one of the largest organizations within the lucrative and politically connected refugee resettlement industry, which is paid more than $1 billion per year by the federal government.

See our complete ‘health issues’ category here which includes posts on Leahy’s previous work.

About tricking the public with names and name changes in the refugee resettlement industry

The Idaho Office for Refugees is a name that is meant to confuse you.  The state government of Idaho does not have a refugee office. Jannus Inc. (a non-profit group) runs the program in Idaho (a Wilson-Fish state).  Until recently Jannus Inc. was Mountain States Group.  So if you are looking for data, or researching grants, etc., your search becomes more challenging as they change names like they change their underwear. (LOL! they say the new name is in honor of the Roman God Janus, hmmmm?)

As a matter of fact, the major federal contractor in Twin Falls, Idaho—the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (one of nine)—has changed its name several times over the years.  See our post from 2009 in which we mention their previous names. Why is this name-changing so prevalent?  My first guess is that they screwed up somewhere (business-wise, or PR-wise) and need a clean slate on which to build a new brand.

Multi-drug resistant strands of Tuberculosis in Muslim refugee population

It’s getting worse.  First we were told only refugees with latent TB are permitted entry into the US, then Michael Patrick Leahy writing at Breitbart reported that, no, active TB is coming in as well.  Now, we learn that even a more serious problem could be developing in your towns with multi-drug resistant TB in a few refugees and other immigrants.

We checked our archives and sure enough we reported on several cases of TB in a frightened Sheyboygen, Wisconsin in 2013, here.

Sheboygan nurses

In 2013, in Sheyboygan Wisconsin, nurses are being instructed in how to take care of themselves when caring for refugees infected with TB.

Pay attention to the fact that you (local and state taxpayers) are footing the bill for all of the meds! Isn’t diversity worth it though!

Hot off the presses at Breitbart:

Two refugees and a foreign student on a visa brought multi-drug resistant (MDR) tuberculosis (TB) to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2009 and 2011, according to a 2014 article in an epidemiology publication written with the cooperation of the doctors who treated them.

The introduction of MDR TB to the United States represents a serious public health threat, since its successful treatment is uncertain and very expensive. Active TB can usually be treated successfully in six to nine months at a cost of $17,000 per patient, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), but MDR TB treatment costs more than $150,000 per patient and can take between 20 and 26 months.

[….]

Twenty cases of MDR TB, all foreign-born, were diagnosed in Wisconsin over the eight year period between 2005 and 2012, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

Twelve of these cases were from the Hmong people in Laos (though Case 2 in the 2014 article was categorized as “drug resistant,” not formally MDR-TB, it was probably included among these 12, as well as Case 2’s “close household contact”), four were from India (including Case 3 from the 2014 article), one was from Burma (including Case 1 from the 2014 article), and one each were from China, Ethiopia, and Nepal.

State and local taxpayers in Wisconsin paid for the treatment of these twenty foreign-born cases of MDR TB. At a cost of $150,000 per patient, the total cost was an estimated $3 million.

Leahy has much more, I’ve only snipped a bit of the detailed report.

Let me ask all of you who plan to volunteer to help the new refugees as they arrive in Asheville, NC, Rutland, VT, Reno, NV, Charleston, WV, Ithaca, NY, Fayetteville, AR, Missoula, Montana and Radford, Virginia, do you know how to protect yourselves? And, how good is your local health department? Is it ready for this?

Supreme Court Decision: Protecting Abortion Industry More Important than Woman’s Health, Safety

On Monday (6/27), in the case Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt, the U.S. Supreme Court, in a 5-3 decision, struck down a Texas law that ensured abortion facilities are clean and safe.  Justice Kennedy, a Republican appointee, sided with the four Democrat appointees on the Court.  The Court’s decision was a debilitating blow to women’s health care and continued the Court’s history of pandering to pro-abortion groups that prey on women in crisis.

Supreme Court Decision—Protecting Abortion Industry More Important than Woman’s Health, Safety

The ruling forces women seeking abortions to receive below-standard health care by allowing abortions facilities to circumvent the minimum standards of care required for other surgical facilities simply because their product is abortion.

Kate Oliveri, Trial Counsel at the Thomas More Law Center, involved in several pro-life cases, commented:

“In effect, the Court has given abortionists a constitutional right to increase their profit margin by providing second-class healthcare to women. We must rise to the challenge of protecting women from this profit seeking industry that preys upon women and makes a mockery of the women’s rights movement.”

In 2013, Texas passed new legislation “enacted to raise standards of care and ensure the health and safety of all abortion patients.” This legislation, House Bill 2 (“HB2”), included two provisions challenged up to the Supreme Court:

  1. Physicians performing abortion procedures must have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of the abortion facility (“admitting-privileges requirement”).
  2. Abortion facilities must comply with the minimum standards of care for surgical facilities (“surgical-center requirement”).

A group of abortion providers challenged these provisions as too costly, arguing many abortion providers would close down.   The Supreme Court bought their argument.  It held that easy abortion access is more important than safe abortion procedures done by competent doctors with local hospital privileges.

Here are some of the standard Texas surgical-center requirements that the Court felt women receiving surgicalabortions do not deserve:

  • an “adequate number” of registered nurses;
  • scrub facilities;
  • fire emergency precautions;
  • ceiling, wall, and floor finishes;
  • separate soiled utility and sterilization rooms;
  • regulated air pressure, filtration, and humidity control; and
  • plumbing requirements.

Quoting the recently departed Justice Scalia, Justice Thomas chastised the majority in his dissent for “bend[ing] the rules when any effort to limit abortion, or even speak in opposition to abortion is at issue.”  Justice Thomas noted, today’s decision “will surely mystify lower courts for years to come.”

Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, observed:

“The Court marginalizes itself as it repeatedly fabricates new legal standards that are not found in the Constitution to reach the ideological results it wants. This is especially clear with the decisions surrounding the Court-created right to abortion.”

In the wake of this decision, abortion advocates are already plotting to minimize the quality of healthcare for women across the country by filing new lawsuits challenging health and safety provisions in numerous other States.

Florida: Eleven refugees entered the Sunshine State with active TB since 2013

This is the next in a series of stunning refugee health reports from Michael Patrick Leahy at Breitbart.

Most Americans are shocked to learn that we are still admitting tens of thousands of Cuban “refugees” each year with most going to Florida. Now to add insult to injury we learn that they are not screened for TB and some have arrived with an active form of the communicable disease.

cuba-unloading-ship-1024x834

Cuban immigrants off loading in Florida.

We knew refugees were permitted to move to your towns and cities with latent Tuberculosis but had never heard that cases of active TB were arriving until Leahy began his series.

Do you remember a few years ago the media was going berserk because one guy with active TB flew on a plane somewhere and the news media was going crazy trying to piece together information on where he had been and with whom he sat on the plane.

Well, just think about this, eleven cases were walking around Florida’s mostly Cuban community with active TB in the last couple of years.

So where is the mainstream media now?

Here is Leahy again in a very detailed account of the situation:

Eleven refugees with active tuberculosis (TB) were among more than 111,000 refugees who arrived in Florida during the three years between 2013 and 2015, according to a report the Florida Department of Health recently sent to Breitbart News.

Their active TB status was determined in medical screenings completed within 90 days of their arrival in the Sunshine State.

This news comes barely a week after Breitbart News reported that four refugees with active TB were sent to Indiana in 2015

[….]

The vast majority of these refugees who arrived in Florida between 2013 and 2015–104,000 of the 111,000– came from Cuba under the “wet-foot, dry-foot policy,” the 1995 “amendment to the 1966 Cuban Adjustment Act. . . [that] gives migrants from Cuba special treatment that no other group of refugees or immigrants receives… [and] puts Cubans who reach U.S. soil on a fast track to permanent residency,” as Dan Moffett reports.

Only a small percentage of these 104,000 Cuban refugees–an estimated total of 3,000–entered as “traditional arrival” refugees, the program through which approximately 70,000 refugees per year enter the United States from over 100 different countries.

If you are confused by the numbers, Leahy explains that the huge number of Cuban supposed “refugees” admitted to the US are given the same special treatment that regular refugees receive.  However, at least the regular refugees have some screening abroad while the Cubans do not.  They can literally walk around in your neighborhoods for weeks before they even get any health screening.

This is our 300th post in our ‘health issues’ category.  Some of Leahy’s earlier reports are archived there.

I wonder, are volunteers who work with refugees briefed by the resettlement contractor about what diseases, parasites etc. the refugees might be carrying?
