Fetterman: I Didn’t Leave the Left, It Left Me

“I don’t feel like I’ve left the label; it’s just more that it’s left me.”

An interesting line with a lot of history to it from Sen. Jon Fetterman on dumping the “progressive” label he used to use.

“I don’t feel like I’ve left the label; it’s just more that it’s left me.”

President Reagan would often quip, “I didn’t leave the Democratic party, the Democratic Party left me.” Similar lines have been used by everyone from Bill Maher, “It’s not me who’s changed, it is the left” to Elon Musk.

It’s hard to say exactly what’s going on with Fetterman after his medical issues, but a dividing line seems to have been the Left’s support for Hamas, but he’s also embraced a species of economic populism, fighting against land sales to China, and Japan’s takeover of U.S. Steel.

While Fetterman had never been a foreign policy guy, he did explicitly break with the far left on Israel during his campaign.

“I would also respectfully say that I’m not really a progressive in that sense,” he added. “Our campaign is based on core Democratic values and principles, and always has been, and there is no daylight between myself and these kinds of unwavering commitments to Israel’s security.”

Still, Fetterman said he was “eager to affirm” his positions on the record, lest there be any uncertainty among supporters of Israel who have similar questions. “I want to go out of my way to make sure that it’s absolutely clear,” he told JI, “that the views that I hold in no way go along the lines of some of the more fringe or extreme wings of our party.”

The Left did not take that seriously and assumed he was just pandering. Now they’re finding out that he really meant it.

So this did not come out of nowhere. And it’s not just about Israel.

He has also publicly encouraged Democrats in recent days to engage in border negotiations with Republicans, talks that have outraged progressives who object to efforts to clamp down on migration through the United States border with Mexico.

“I don’t think it’s unreasonable to have a secured border,” Mr. Fetterman said in the interview, conducted over Zoom. “I would never put Dreamers in harm’s way, or support any kind of cruelty or mass expulsion of hundreds of thousands of people. But it’s a reasonable conversation to talk about the border.”

Now this may be a canny rebranding.

A moderate Democrat who emphasizes economic populism, border security and steers clear of crazier leftist stuff, has much better odds of holding on to a Pennsylvania Senate seat.

Fetterman would never have taken office if Republicans hadn’t run a Turkish Muslim leftist trainwreck like Mehmet Oz who appealed to no one except Oprah viewers (and they mostly vote Democrat anyway). Next time, Republicans may actually find a candidate that people might actually vote for. But next time around is a long time away and Fetterman doesn’t need to be picking fights with the Left.

The short version seems to be that he may be a leftist, but he’s an old-school leftist who actually doesn’t much like the Left.

The media castigates him for associating with Bernie Sanders, but Bernie was actually an old-school leftist who used to be against identity politics, culture wars and open borders. Under pressure, he jettisoned all of his views and became a generic woke. (At which point most people lost interest in him. Eventually so did the Left.)

Fetterman has pushed back against the pressure. Unlike Bernie, he refuses to be intimidated by people screaming at him.

Despite the headline, he hasn’t left the Left, but he’s not interested in the progressive label which tends to signify upper class wokeness.

The Pennsylvania senator said he still aligns with many progressive goals, including a $15 minimum wage, universal health care, legalizing marijuana and abolishing the Senate filibuster.

But he said he no longer relates to the overarching label of “progressive” — especially as the left has become more interested in demanding what he described as “purity tests.”

“It’s just a place where I’m not,” he said. “I don’t feel like I’ve left the label; it’s just more that it’s left me.

“I’m not critical if someone is a progressive,” he added. “I believe different things.”

Fetterman is currently for fracking, and also for lots of social welfare. That is old-school leftism. It’s also fairly popular.

There’s a whole lot more support for social welfare than there is for culture wars, drag queens and Islamic terrorism. Not to mention radical environmentalism.

The old progressives used to argue (not even all that long ago) that they should run on a straight class warfare platform while shedding all the other garbage. This used to be the main argument for a Bernie Sanders campaign. Except that garbage is hard to shed. Just ask Bernie.

Fetterman is shedding a lot of the garbage. This doesn’t make him an ex-leftist or a friend to conservatives, but it makes him something worse: a serious threat to the Left as it currently is.

A small sample:

Dennis Prager equates the mutilation of American schoolgirls with the enforced clitoridectomies of Muslim females – and he’s correct that it destroys whatever claim to moral superiority the west might once have had: it’s not merely the transformation of “the formerly good into the bad” but of the formerly good into the evil. It is not Putin or Chairman Xi or the mullahs who are slicing the breasts off thousands of middle-schoolers and rendering them infertile.

If you feel a wee bit queasy about mutilating little girls, well, unless you’re as rich as JK Rowling, better shut up, hater. Nevertheless, there are, as Marx would have said, internal contradictions in the new Utopia.

[…]

Unlike the constitution-wavers of the American right, the left does not live in abstractions. It makes hard-power calculations on what’s useful to them. Muslims are, and Jews aren’t. Tough, but, like the mobsters say, nothing personal, strictly business. Thus, according to Canada’s state-funded national broadcaster, “Israel started the Hamas war” – while that whole October 7th unpleasantness was just a bit of freelance rape and murder one has to accept (per Sadiq Khan) as the occasional price of living in a great global city kibbutz.

[…]

But, at the top, the people who are doing this to us are not doing it “unconsciously”. They understand very clearly that the new utopia can only be built on a mountain of corpses – from myocarditis, from body positivity, from diversity stabbings, from whatever it takes. I said some years ago that those tearing down statues of every king, queen and prime minister would soon move on to actual human beings: if you are determined to erase the entirety of the past, why would you balk at the abolition of human biology? In both cases, it is to ensure that there is no path back: no nation, no community, no family, no civilisational inheritance. You can only stagger onward, deeper into the void.

This year’s freshman class at the University of Vermont is two-thirds female; is it so hard to imagine it as an all-ladies’ college? And sooner than you think?

Heraclitus said “cold things warm, warm things cool, wet things dry and parched things get wet”. But even he might have been surprised to see men become women, and ugly men become beauty queens, and people who remember when only women were women become social pariahs. There is no “hypocrisy” or “inconsistency”; au contraire, it is admirably consistent: What serves the left’s interest is the destruction of all norms and of all the most basic societal building-blocks – and of the widespread confusion and disorientation that follows. For in chaos all things are possible: Forty per cent of French pre-schoolers are of a “migrant background“. There’s another one for Heraclitus: French children become non-French. But don’t worry, because soon all children will become, genetically speaking, non-anything – just as soon as they’ve perfected that “male womb“.

U.S. Army BG (Ret.) John Adams: Will Biden Administration continue support or obstruct Israel’s victory over Hamas in Gaza?

Jerry Gordon, a Senior Editor of The New English Review, invited retired U.S. Army Brigadier General John Adams (Ret.) for this fourth in a series of discussions on Israel Defense Force military doctrine and strategic options in the conduct of the Jewish state’s civilizational war with Iran-backed Hamas terrorist group in Gaza. He addresses the conflict given his extensive background as a 30-year veteran of combat, staff and international military diplomatic assignments and post-service informal analysis and discussions with former Senior IDF commanders.

Among the issues covered in this wide-ranging discussion are:

  1. Biden Administration attempts to force Israel to “scale down” Gaza operations conflicts with IDF objective of destroying and displacing jihadist Hamas.
  2. Biden Administration “day after” two state solution, modeled on failed 1993 Oslo Accords, is rejected by the Netanyahu government because of national security concerns. PLO – Fatah was routed by Hamas in 2006 Gaza elections and both groups share same objective: destruction of Jewish state.
  3. Discovery of massive Hamas tunnel near Israeli Erez Gaza crossings and failure of border high tech Iron Wall in Hamas breach on October 7th – Israel’s “Maginot Line” – are priorities to be investigated in post-conflict intelligence failures investigation.
  4. Hamas discussions with Egyptian intelligence on new round of pauses include release of 40 to 50 of remaining Israeli captive in exchange for longer pause and increased humanitarian aid and release of Israeli Palestinian security prisoners.
  5. Other “Day After” solutions reviewed include “One State” proposal by noted Israeli geo-political commentator Caroline Glick based on Arab Clan governance of municipalities and pathway to Israeli citizenship and New State proposal of former Senior IDF officers- an expansion of Gaza into Egyptian Sinai – “Singapore” on Mediterranean Coast.
  6. Iran is behind proxy Yemen’s Houthi rebel drone and ballistic missile attacks in support of Hamas in Gaza threaten global war and maritime risks in Red Sea and transit via Suez Canal. USS Destroyer Carney successfully repulsed Houthi drone and missile attacks.  Defense Secretary Austin announced formation of international maritime task force in Operation Prosperity Guardians composed of US, Britain, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles and Spain.
  7. Iran is also behind Hizballah as it threatens rocket and precision guided missile barrages to northern and central Israel. Hizballah has an inventory of upwards of 150,00 rickets and missiles. The IDF has conducted air attacks, in response to rocket and mortar attacks. Israel has evacuated an estimated 200,000 from both northern and southern communities. Defense Minister Gallant announced possible limited incursion of 18 kilometers to Litani river in Southern Lebanon to destroy Hizballah positions. The Biden Administration maintains one US Navy Carrier Battle Group offshore Lebanon (another CBG is in the Persian Gulf) to prevent a widening war in the Middle East.
  8. Israel needs to complete its mission of destroying or displacing Hamas without significant delays to avoid rising costs to its economy.

Supreme Court Hands Jack Smith A Major Defeat In Trump 2020 Election Case

The Supreme Court declined special counsel Jack Smith’s request Friday for it to quickly consider a key question in former President Donald Trump’s election interference case without letting the lower court weigh in first.

Smith asked the justices last week to hear former President Donald Trump’s bid to have his election interference case dismissed based on presidential immunity without allowing the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals to first consider the issue. In an unsigned order Friday, the justices shot down his request.

District Judge Tanya Chutkan declined to dismiss Trump’s case Dec. 1 in a decision that said the presidency “does not confer a lifelong ‘get-out-of-jail-free’ pass.” Trump then appealed her decision to the D.C. Circuit.

The Supreme Court’s decision puts an obstacle in the way of Smith, who has been making every effort to salvage Trump’s scheduled March 4 trial date. Chutkan paused proceedings in Trump’s case pending his appeal of the immunity question.

Trump’s attorneys told the justices in a filing Wednesday that they should reject Smith’s request, which they alleged had a “partisan motivation,” and to not “rush to decide the issues with reckless abandon.”

“This Court’s ordinary review procedures will allow the D.C. Circuit to address this appeal in the first instance, thus granting this Court the benefit of an appellate court’s prior consideration of these historic topics and performing the traditional winnowing function that this Court has long preferred,” Trump’s lawyers wrote Wednesday.

His lawyers said Smith “confuses the public interest with a partisan interest of his superior, President Biden.”

“Further, the Special Counsel’s insistence that this Court decide the immunity question ‘during its current Term,’ reflects the evident desire to schedule President Trump’s potential trial during the summer of 2024— at the height of the election season,” they wrote.

Oral arguments at the D.C. Circuit are scheduled for Jan. 9, 2024. The question will likely come back to the Supreme Court after the appeals court issues a ruling.

CCP-Tied Firm Slated To Build Massive Facility Near Sensitive U.S. Military Sites

The Chinese parent of a firm slated to develop a manufacturing facility near several Midwest military bases has extensive ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), according to a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation based on research conducted by The Heritage Foundation Oversight Project and Heritage Action.

Cnano Technology USA Inc. (Cnano USA) plans to invest in a 333,000-square-foot facility in Johnson County, Kansas, that will manufacture liquid conductive paste for electric vehicle batteries and other devices, according to an August announcement from the Kansas City Area Development Council, which partnered with the state and other parties to attract the firm to Kansas. Cnano USA’s $95 million facility will be built approximately 35 miles from Fort Leavenworth, and 70 miles from the “only operational base for the B-2,” Whiteman Air Force Base.

Cnano USA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of C-Nano Technology Co., Ltd., which, in turn, is an entity that China-based Cnano Jiangsu Technology Co., Ltd. (Cnano Jiangsu) established in the British Virgin Islands, according to Cnano Jiangsu’s 2022 annual report.

“Cnano Technology USA Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of C-Nano Technology Ltd. established in the U.S.,” Cnano Jiangsu’s 2022 annual report states.

“C-Nano Technology Ltd. is a limited company established in accordance with the laws of the British Virgin Islands and a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Company,” Cnano Jiangsu’s 2022 annual report adds, using “The Company” in reference to Cnano Jiangsu.

While Cnano Jiangsu’s 2022 social responsibility report reveals that the firm employs several dozen CCP members, the company’s English website states that it’s also “undertaken a number of national 863” projects, referring to a Chinese government program that the U.S. government has accused of working to steal U.S. technology.

“The number of Party members in the company has reached 28 people,” Cnano Jiangsu’s 2022 social responsibility report states.

Wisconsin Republican Rep. Mike Gallagher, who serves as chairman of the House Select Committee on the CCP, told the DCNF that such ties are cause for concern.

“Just ask yourself the question: can Americans buy land in China near its military bases? Of course, the answer is no,” Gallagher said. “It is a bad, bad idea to let the CCP or CCP-affiliated entities buy land near military bases in the U.S. We cannot allow the CCP to collect valuable intelligence here at home that they might leverage in the event of a crisis.”

A DCNF review of Cnano Jiangsu’s corporate records revealed that the firm promotes CCP ideology and that the number of Party members in the company has increased in recent years. At the same time, the firm’s business filings also state that the Chinese government has awarded Cnano Jiangsu with millions of dollars for participating in various state-backed initiatives, including one program that the Office of the National Counterintelligence Executive has warned employs clandestine methods to acquire foreign technologies. The records do not disclose which employees and/or executives were CCP members.

“American citizens deserve to know whether foreign companies seeking business in their communities are operating in good faith or aiming to advance the interests of communist regimes,” Mike Howell, director of The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project, told the DCNF.

‘Join The Party’

Cnano Jiangsu’s business filings with the Shanghai Stock Exchange reveal that the billion-dollar company operates a CCP Party branch, promotes Party doctrine and likewise supports the CCP’s integration into the firm’s corporate structure.

A “Party branch” is the smallest “grass-roots” CCP organization, and one must be established within any Chinese institutions containing three or more Party members, according to China’s state organ for legal supervision, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate.

Party organizations within private companies “guide and oversee enterprises in obeying state laws and regulations, unite their employees, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of all parties and promote the sound development of their enterprises, with a focus on carrying out the [CCP]’s principles and policies,” according to the CCP Central Committee’s Organization Department.

In 2018, Cnano Jiangsu established its first Party branch, according to the firm’s 2021 social responsibility report. By the end of 2022, Cnano Jiangsu employed 28 CCP members who accounted for “3.54% of all workers,” according to the firm’s 2022 social responsibility report.

“Pay close attention to politics and join the Party,” the 2022 report states.

Cnano Jiangsu’s Party branch holds Party classes as well as “focused study sessions” to “study the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches,” according to its 2021 annual report.

Furthermore, the firm also supports “the deep integration of Party-building and corporate governance,” according to its 2021 social responsibility report.

Cnano Jiangsu’s allegiance to the CCP extends well beyond its Party branch, according to its 2022 social responsibility report, which states that the firm itself “insists on being guided by Xi Jinping Thought On Socialism With Chinese Characteristics For A New Era.”

First unveiled in October 2017, Xi’s trademark ideology identifies eight “fundamental issues” for the Party, which include “the Party’s goal of building a strong military in the new era,” according to state-run media outlet Xinhua.

“One of my top priorities continues to be preventing China from expanding its foothold in American supply chains and ensuring CCP-backed companies are not operating in Kansas,” Kansas Republican Rep. Jake LaTurner told the DCNF. “Xi will stop at nothing to infiltrate our most critical infrastructure, steal our intellectual property and gain insight into our military operations.”

‘Technology Transfer’

Cnano Jiangsu’s 2022 social responsibility report states that in 2012, the company joined the Chinese government’s “863 Program,” which supports the development of China’s military, according to the Select Committee of the United States House of Representatives.

Launched in 1986, the 863 Program “provides funding and guidance for efforts to clandestinely acquire U.S. technology and sensitive economic information,” according to the U.S. Director of National Intelligence. State-run media outlet Xinhua reported that the 863 Program was incorporated into the National Key Research and Development Program of China in 2016, though the 863 Program remained listed as an active, independent program on the Ministry of Science and Technology’s website until at least 2018.

All the same, Cnano Jiangsu also began a project with the National Key Research and Development Program of China in November 2018 that had no stated end date, according to a 2019 business filing.

Cnano Jiangsu’s 2019 business filing states that it participated in the “National Key Research and Development Program of China” related to “developing a green macro-preparation method for the edge functionalization of graphene, equipment and production technology,” with its contract period being listed between “November 2018 – Projection Completion.”

“Participation in the 863 Program, financial incentives and who knows what else in terms of state subsidies, means that [Cnano Jiangsu and Cnano USA] are seen as essentially a partner of the government,” Bryan Burack, senior policy advisor for China and the Indo-Pacific at the Heritage Foundation’s Asian Studies Center, told the DCNF.

Burack and Mandy Snodgrass of Heritage Action conducted an initial investigation into Cnano Jiangsu and Cnano USA, which the DCNF reviewed and expanded upon.

The 863 Program “focuses on both military and civilian science and technology” and aims “to accelerate the acquisition and development of science and technology in the PRC,” according to a report from the Select Committee of the United States House of Representatives. Toward that end, the 863 Program regards technologies like biological warfare, nuclear weapons and exotic materials as “areas of military concern.”

Between 2009 and 2013, China spent over $800 million per year on the 863 Program, according to a research report prepared for the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission by Gryphon Scientific, LLC, an independent research firm.

The Chinese government has awarded parent company Cnano Jiangsu over $7 million dollars for its participation in various state-backed initiatives — at least $160,000 of which China’s Ministry of Science and Technology awarded the firm for its participation in the 863 Program, according to the company’s 2022 social responsibility report.

Moreover, Cnano Jiangsu’s 2023 foreign investment plans explicitly identify “technology transfer” as an element of Cnano USA’s “business scope.”

“Business scope: engage in research and development for nano materials (carbon nanotubes, graphene) and other composite materials, produce and market company products; provide the company with technical services, consulting, training and technology transfer,” the business filing states.

Like fellow Kansan Rep. Jake LaTurner, Kansas Republican Sen. Roger Marshall told the DCNF he was “concerned” about Cnano USA’s plan to build a facility in his state.

“When this was brought to our attention, we alerted the Kansas Bureau of Investigations (KBI) and asked them to review this company and its origins,” Marshall said. “I look forward to their findings and want to know what guardrails are in place to ensure our national security is prioritized above all else.”

If and when completed, Cnano USA’s facility will be located at the New Century Commerce Center in Johnson County, and is expected to create 112 jobs, according to VanTrust Real Estate, which developed the commerce center.

‘Second Cold War’

Cnano Jiangsu has also interacted with the CCP’s United Front Work Department (UFWD) on several occasions, according to Chinese government and state-run media reports.

The UFWD conducts “united front work,” which is a “blend of engagement, influence activities and intelligence operations” that the CCP employs to shape policy toward China and “gain access to advanced foreign technology,” according to the Select Committee on the CCP.

In one instance, the UFWD and state-run media outlet Xinhua reported that, in June 2021, Cnano Jiangsu participated in a UFWD event in Jiangsu province titled “Serving Overseas Chinese Enterprises.” UFWD and CCP officials attended the event, which focused on challenges “Overseas Chinese enterprises” encounter, Xinhua reported.

The UFWD’s report notes that during the event “persons in charge of Cnano Jiangsu” and other firms “shared their experiences and work situation.”

Chinese Times reported that Cnano Jiangsu’s CEO, Zheng Tao, attended the event, and shared his experience concerning Chinese enterprises operating in foreign markets. Zheng Tao is also Cnano USA’s “director,” according to Cnano Jiangsu’s 2023 business filing.

The following month, Zheng Tao contacted the UFWD in July, hoping that the agency might expedite the processing of his China travel visa, according to JinShang Online.

“On July 26th, Cnano Jiangsu’s CEO, Zheng Tao, was still in the U.S., but because of the firm’s production operation needs, he’d already reserved an August 14th China return ticket, however, because time was tight, going to the New York Chinese Consulate to sort out the entry visa invitation to travel to China had not been arranged in advance, so he hoped that the city’s UFWD (the city’s Overseas Chinese Affairs Office) would be able to help him,” Cnano Jiangsu’s office director, Sun Min, reportedly told JinShang Online.

Consequently, the UFWD worked with Chinese agencies to ensure Zheng Tao’s China travel visa was processed in time, JinShang Online also reported.

Former U.S. ambassador Joseph Cella told the DCNF that the U.S. should be wary of CCP-tied Chinese companies seeking to establish a U.S. presence.

“The deals may appear benign, however, they are perilous and need to be engaged transparently and submitted to strict scrutiny and due diligence,” said Cella, who serves as director of the Michigan-China Economic and Security Review Group. “We are involved in a second Cold War now with China.”

A DOD spokesperson told the DCNF that the Pentagon will “identify and mitigate risks across all domains,” when asked about Cnano USA’s plans to build near U.S. military installations.

The FBI’s National Press Office declined to comment.

Cnano USA, Cnano Jiangsu, Zheng Tao and Johnson County officials did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

States Enact 84 Laws Protecting Citizens against Transgender Extremism

States across the country passed dozens of laws — and have debated hundreds of pieces of legislation — to protect children from the predatory transgender industry, a new analysis has found.

In all, 23 state legislatures passed 84 separate laws this year preventing minors from being subjected to transgender surgeries, securing parental rights, shielding kids from sexually explicit drag queen shows, safeguarding the privacy of women’s facilities, ensuring fairness in women’s sports, and strengthening religious conscience rights. As 2023 comes to a close, 193 more bills are currently advancing through the legislative process nationwide, and legislators voted down another 227 bills, according to a tally from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

“It’s great seeing states step up to the plate to protect parental rights, and ultimately, the health, well-being, and safety of children,” Alex Nester, an investigative fellow at Parents Defending Education, told The Washington Stand.

The report shows that lawmakers have responded to parents’ greatest concerns, thanks to the active engagement of grassroots Christian conservatives, FRC Action Vice President Brent Keilen told The Washington Stand. “Just a few years ago, areas like indoctrinating children and allowing men in women’s sports seemed like a bridge too far” for many politicians to touch, he said. “Now these issues are front and center,” showing genuine progress toward protecting women and children from the harms of extreme gender ideology.

The laws, which earn the overwhelming support of American voters, are so popular that supermajorities of state legislators voted to override Democratic governors’ vetoes of eight pieces of gender protections in KansasKentuckyLouisiana, and North Carolina.

Even as pro-family advocates celebrate their victories, they sharply disagree with the ACLU’s characterization of the bills in a year-end report released this week titled “Mapping Attacks on LGBTQ Rights in U.S. State Legislatures.”

For instance, the liberal activist organization presents Texas S.B. 12 as one of the nation’s “free speech & expression bans.” But pro-family advocates called the law — which states that commercial businesses “may not allow a sexually oriented performance to be presented on the premises in the presence of an individual younger than 18” — a protection of children.

The ACLU describes West Virginia House Bill 3042, which became law in March, as “weakening civil rights laws.” Yet the bill does not mention homosexuality or gender confusion; instead, it strengthens civil rights by “forbidding excessive government limitations on exercise of religion.” The law codifies the national Religious Freedom Restoration Act, introduced by then-Rep. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and signed by Democratic President Bill Clinton.

The ACLU also took aim at laws that grant less of the transgender political agenda than the group would like. In March, Utah enacted S.B. 93, which allows minors to change the sex and name on their birth certificate at the ripe old age of “15 years and six months old.” (The new status takes effect when they turn 16.) Yet the ACLU asserts that the law creates “barriers to accurate IDs” by establishing additional criteria and setting an age limit (albeit one before adulthood).

“America is witnessing a collision of worldviews and values,” Keilen told TWS. “As this collision has intensified, we’ve seen legislators in a number of states step up to the plate and work to protect their state’s children and families.”

“It is important that these legislators continue to stand up for policies like the SAFE Act, protecting women’s sports, and other areas that protect minors, women, and families,” Keilen added.

This clash of worldview is most clearly expressed in the 1,048 school districts that will hide children’s “social transition” from their parents, according to a list compiled by Parents Defending Education (PDE). The districts, which may be seen on PDE’s “Indoctrination Map,” affect 10.7 million students.

“The rise of parental exclusion policies, after numerous reports of gender transition clinics fostering relationships with school districts, is alarming,” Nester told TWS. “It is unconscionable for taxpayer-funded public schools to usurp a family’s responsibility to care for children.”

Although the effects of the radical transgender movement have emerged as a political issue dividing the two major parties, Republican governors in deep-red states do not always support such protections. One of the laws in the ACLU’s list took effect without the governor’s signature: a Wyoming law (SF133) protecting women from competing against males, or showering and changing in front of them. Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, a Republican, denounced the bill as “draconian” and discriminatory.”

The ACLU, which has sought to establish that minors have an unalienable “right” to receive cross-sex hormone injections and organ removals, noted with pleasure that 14 of the 84 laws are currently tied up in court.

The most consequential of the laws recounted in the ACLU’s report are acts keeping minors from undergoing irreparable transgender procedures. In all, 22 states protect children from transgender procedures as of this writing. “The protective laws have been temporarily or permanently blocked by judges in four states, and the attorney general has refused to enforce the law in one,” noted the American College of Pediatricians, which maintains its own map of such states.

That total will increase to 23 if Ohio Governor Mike DeWine (R) signs HB 68. The bill protects children from transgender procedures and protects women’s sports by combining the Saving Adolescents From Experimentation (SAFE) Act and the Save Women’s Sports Act.

Both houses of the Ohio legislature passed the bill with lopsided majorities after hearing from detransitioners such as Chloe Cole. It currently sits on DeWine’s desk, but the governor has not commented on whether he will sign or veto the bill.

“He’s under fire from the usual suspects of people who are ready to villainize those who are working to protect children from mutilation and sterilization,” said former Congressman Jody Hice on Tuesday’s episode of “Washington Watch.”

Ohio State Rep. Gary Click (R-Vickery) told Hice that the scarred youth of Ohio are waiting for DeWine to listen, and asking for voters to call the governor’s office at (614) 466-3555.

“We’ve let him talk to trans kids’ parents and detransitioners,” Click said. “They’re ready just to burst into tears of joy when the governor signs this bill.”

Let’s Block Oil Shipments From Colombia to California

According to the California Energy Commissioner the majority of California’s crude oil is imported from Colombia, Ecuador, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

Additionally.

The installed Marxist President currently squatting in the White House, Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., the poster child for adult diapers has also resumed oil purchases from Communist Venezuela to keep Maduro’s Narco dictatorship operating flush with U.S. dollars.

So I did my civic duty while I am here in Bogotá Colombia and I stopped by EcoPetrol, Colombia’s largest oil production company.

I asked the company manager to stop importing oil to California to show solidarity with the states unconstitutional ban on new gasoline powered vehicle sales starting in 2035.

Cutting off the Colombian oil supply to Gavin Newsom’s dictatorship of California and instead shipping the oil to Texas would help drive up the price of gasoline to $15 – $25 a gallon in California as per our estimations and reduce gas prices in Texas.

Perhaps this would help Californians decide to vote in a new free market based legislature and Governor and remove the current Commie Marxist Stalinist dirt-bag infestation in Sacramento.

Stay tuned.

Putin’s diplomatic blitzkrieg to save Hamas and set up Russian base next door to Israel

Russian President Vladimir Putin received a truly imperial reception from the leaders of the UAE and Saudi Arabia during fleeting visits to their countries. Oriental luxury, accompanied by painting the Dubai sky in the colors of the Russian flag, a cavalry escort, camels with riders – all this was calculated to produce the necessary impact on the impressionable public.

What remained behind the footage, seen by tens of millions of viewers around the world, however, was the answer to a simple question: Why did Putin go?

Official reports of the negotiations in Dubai and Riyadh do not provide clear answers – reading prepared messages about a “67.7 percent increase in trade turnover” and admiring the “wise policy of [the current prince’s father], the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques of the King of Saudi Arabia” does not explain why Putin would go on such a trip, especially so quickly.

The trip was clearly rather urgent, given the record-breaking time between the Kremlin announcement about the planned visits (December 5, 3:00pm) and the visits themselves – both happening within 24 hours. The distance between the announcement of the upcoming Russian-Iranian negotiations and these negotiations themselves turned out to be almost equally short.

Putin’s stay with his Arab hosts also was incredibly brief as well – a couple of hours in Dubai and a little more in Riyadh. It’s not often that Putin spends only half a day in two states. The Iranian president’s visit to Moscow in the evening of the next day, December 7, turned out to be similarly short.

Two more events should be considered. A day after the Iranian president’s visit, on December 9, Putin spoke with the President of Egypt. And the next day, December 10, Putin called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In contrast to Putin’s treacly communication with the leaders of Islamic countries, he received quite harsh words from Netanyahu. It’s hard to remember when an official press release used the following language to describe negotiations between the leaders of the two states:

The Prime Minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the positions expressed against Israel by Russian representatives at the UN and in other forums.

Prime Minister Netanyahu expressed sharp criticism of the dangerous cooperation between Russia and Iran.

The Prime Minister emphasized that any country that had been struck with a criminal terrorist assault such as Israel experienced would have reacted with no less force than Israel is using.

In contrast to the Jerusalem press release, the Kremlin’s report on the conversation with Netanyahu was created in a pointedly conciliatory tone:

Vladimir Putin confirmed his principled position of non-acceptance and condemnation of terrorism in all its manifestations. At the same time, it is extremely important that countering terrorist threats does not lead to such dire consequences for the civilian population. The Russian side is ready to provide all possible assistance in order to alleviate the suffering of civilians and de-escalate the conflict.

In addition, mutual interest was expressed to continue to interact on issues of evacuation of Russian citizens and members of their families, as well as the release of Israelis held in Gaza.

It was agreed to continue contacts.

It should be noted that the Putin’s “rejection and condemnation of terrorism in all its manifestations,” on December 10 (that is, more than two months after October 7), was Putin’s first (albeit indirect) condemnation of the terrorist attack on Israel on October 7. Putin did not characterize the Hamas attack on Israel with the words “terror” or “terrorism” in any of his previous speeches, including his conversation with Netanyahu on October 16.

Moreover, in the just released (December 7) Joint Russian-Saudi Statement, Putin called Israel’s self-defense actions “aggression against Gaza”:

The Russian side… highly appreciated the Kingdom’s leading role in implementing the summit resolutions aimed at launching international action to stop aggression against Gaza.

The appearance of the last phrase in the Russian press release dated December 10 – about an agreement to continue contacts – seems especially demonstrative against the backdrop of the Kremlin press release about Putin’s previous conversation with Netanyahu on October 16, according to which Putin did not plan to continue contact with Israel.

Thus, the dramatic evolution of Putin’s position towards the terrorist attack on October 7, Israel, and Netanyahu over the course of two months is obvious – from deafening silence during the first three days after the attack – via “expressing condolences to the families and friends of the dead Israelis” – to “condemning terrorism in all its manifestations”; from the lack of desire to maintain contacts with the Israeli prime minister – to expressing hope on their continuation.

What caused this dramatic evolution?

What was Putin’s Middle East diplomatic blitzkrieg dedicated to?

And what were the results?

The fact that the subject of Putin’s negotiations with the leaders of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt, and Israel was the Gaza-Israeli war is obvious. But what exactly?

Ebrahim Raisi’s remarks on December 7 shed some light on this. Raisi called on Putin to find a “quick solution” to stopping the IDF’s efforts to eliminate Iranian-backed terrorists:

The bombing must be stopped as soon as possible. This issue today is not only an issue for our region, it is an issue for all of humanity, so a very quick solution must be found for this issue.

Putin’s comments at a press conference on December 14 were even more informative:

When I was in the Emirates, it turned out that the Emirati side had created a field hospital there in Gaza, but not far from Rafah, from the checkpoint and from the Egyptian border. We talked about how it would be possible for Russia to open its own hospital at the stadium. But this, of course, requires the consent of both Egypt and Israel. I spoke with the President of Egypt, he is for it and supports it. I spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu, they consulted between various security agencies. The Israeli side believes that the opening of a Russian hospital in Gaza is unsafe.

But this does not mean that we will stop these efforts.

Finally, another important element of what was happening was the mass surrender of Hamas militants, which began on December 7 and reached new highs by December 10.

Currently known facts lead to the following picture:

  • On December 1, after a short pause, the IDF resumed military operations to eliminate Hamas militants in the center of the Gaza Strip.
  • By December 4, Hamas’ positions in the Khan Yunis area were falling apart. If the Israeli offensive is not stopped, Hamas’ organized resistance would collapse. The Iranian leadership is inundating Putin with demands to intervene and save the remnants of Hamas combat units.
  • On December 6, during his visits to the UAE and Saudi Arabia, Putin explores the option of creating Russian hospital in Gaza.
  • On December 7, Hamas militants begin to emerge from hiding and surrender en masse.
  • On the afternoon of December 7, Iranian President Raisi flies to Moscow with a desperate demand for Putin to save the remnants of Hamas.
  • By December 8, the Russian plan of saving Hamas and establishing its own operative base under the umbrella of a hospital in the strategic location in the center of Gaza city at the stadium next to Rimal – a prestigious neighborhood where government ministries are located and in close proximity to the Gaza port – is being finalized. The hospital would have Russian personnel (possibly with extraterritorial status) and the possibility of using (or constructing) underground structures to house the remaining Hamas militants. Putin’s hospital location choice in the far north of the Gaza strip would enable free passage from the Egyptian border to Gaza. It is reminiscent of 1940, when Stalin created a Soviet naval base in Port Hanko, that allowed Soviet troops passage through all of southern Finland. Possible damage from Israeli (or other) strikes to the hospital and/or transportation there and/or injury/death of Russian personnel could be used as a blackmail against Israel or pretext for Russian intervention.
  • On December 9, Putin discusses his plan with Egyptian President Sisi and receives consent.
  • On December 10, Putin discusses his plan with Netanyahu and was refused.
  • Failure of Putin’s initiative to save the remnants of Hamas forces militants to surrender.
  • But Putin’s plan to set up a Russian base next door to Israel did not die.
  • On December 14, he proclaimed to continue his efforts.

A Republican Of All People Is Throwing A Wrench Into California’s Senate Race

A Republican candidate appears to be throwing a wrench into California’s Senate race where three prominent Democrats are running in the open primary that’s just months away, according to a Thursday poll.

Former baseball star Steve Garvey, the Republican, received 19% support in a Morning Consult/Politico survey among likely primary voters, placing in second behind only Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff with 28%. The Republican polled ahead of both Democratic Reps. Katie Porter and Barbara Lee, who garnered 17% and 14% support, respectively.

In the March 5 primary, the top two vote-getters will advance to the November general election. Garvey could effectively boot Porter and Lee from competing with Schiff in the general if he were to place in second for the open primary, which would likely mean that Schiff would win the Senate seat.

The Cook Political Report characterizes the seat as in the “Solid D” category. California went for President Joe Biden in 2020 by nearly 30 points.

With Biden at the top of the ticket in 2024, and California being a predominately blue state, Schiff is expected to win the general election. If the Republican places second in the primary, Schiff wouldn’t have to face another Democrat for a head-to-head matchup.

Schiff, Porter and Lee have been running for the seat for the majority of the year, while Garvey recently jumped in the race in early October. Most polls have found Schiff leading by several points, according to RealClearPolitics’ survey compilation.

While Garvey has yet to report fundraising totals, the Democrats have all brought in millions for the race so far, according to the Federal Election Commission filings. Porter and Schiff have totaled $22.1 million and $21.5 million for the race already, while Lee has brought in $3.4 million.

Garvey is aiming to run a “common sense” campaign in the blue state, while the Democrats largely cater to the left-wing sector of their party.

The candidates are running for the late Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s seat, which is currently occupied by Gov. Gavin Newsom’s appointee Laphonza Butler, who decided against running for a full term in 2024. If Butler, the former president of pro-abortion group EMILYs List, were to run, she would pose a serious threat to Schiff’s campaign, as she has an extensive political network, massive fundraising capabilities and would have an incumbency advantage.

The campaigns for Garvey, Schiff, Porter and Lee did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s requests for comment.

Executives From Sanofi Caught on Leaked Zoom Call Discussing Discriminatory Hiring Practices

I hope this message finds you well. As a community deeply committed to integrity and transparency, we believe it’s crucial to keep you informed about the pressing issues we uncover. Today, I want to share a disturbing revelation that has come to light through our relentless investigative efforts.

UNCOVERING DISCRIMINATORY HIRING PRACTICES AT SANOFI

Our recent investigation has unveiled troubling practices within Sanofi, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. A brave whistleblower has come forward with evidence that raises serious ethical and legal questions about the company’s hiring policies.

In a leaked video, Carole Huntsman, the former Senior Vice President at Sanofi, is heard explicitly stating the company’s racial hiring quotas. She says, “Every hiring manager knows… 1 in 5 hires needs to be a black employee… 1 in 10 has to be a Latinx employee for us to meet our goals.” This candid admission is not just a statement; it’s a reflection of a deeply ingrained policy.

FURTHER EVIDENCE AND BROADER IMPLICATIONS

But the story doesn’t end with the video. We’ve obtained internal documents that corroborate these statements, showing a deliberate strategy to manipulate the company’s demographic makeup. These documents outline ambitious targets and track progress towards these racial quotas.

This isn’t just about Sanofi. Our investigation has revealed that the company is part of the CEO Action for Racial Equity, a coalition of companies with similar commitments. Shockingly, we’ve discovered that other members, like Best Buy, have also been implicated in practices that raise significant concerns, with our breaking story of Whistleblower Ennis Sujak on both racial and religious discrimination within Best Buy and Geek Squad.

WHY THIS MATTERS

The implications of these findings are far-reaching. They challenge the ethical boundaries of corporate diversity initiatives and raise legal questions under the Civil Rights Act. This story is a stark reminder of the complex issues at the intersection of corporate policy, ethics, and the law.

OUR ROLE AND YOUR INVOLVEMENT

At OMG we are dedicated to uncovering the truth and fostering a dialogue on these critical issues. We believe that awareness is the first step towards change. By staying informed and engaged, you are part of a community that values integrity and transparency.

We encourage you to share this story, discuss it within your networks, and stay tuned for further updates. Your awareness and involvement are vital as we continue to shed light on these crucial issues.

BIDENOMICS: Homelessness UP 12% from just last year, Homeless FAMILIES WITH KIDS up 16%

But the invaders storming our border are getting everything they need.

U.S. homelessness up 12% to highest reported level as rents soar

By Kevin Freking, AP December 21, 2023:

WASHINGTON (AP) — The United States experienced a dramatic 12% increase in homelessness to its highest reported level as soaring rents and a decline in coronavirus pandemic assistance combined to put housing out of reach for more Americans, federal officials said Friday.

About 653,000 people were homeless, the most since the country began using the yearly point-in-time survey in 2007. The total in the January count represents an increase of about 70,650 from a year earlier.

The latest estimate indicates that people becoming homeless for the first time were behind much of the increase.

Goodness, What an Unpleasant Little Creature This Greta Thunberg Turns Out to Be

Greta Thunberg has been commenting on the climate conference just held in Dubai. Her appalling remarks can be found here: “Greta Thunberg slams COP28 climate deal and Israel, waves Palestinian flag,” by Maayan Jaffe-Hoffman, Jerusalem Post, December 17, 2023:

Thunberg, 20, has been “standing with Gaza” since the start of the Israel-Hamas war, not only on social media but also at rallies. She was recently filmed chanting “crush Zionism” at a pro-Palestinian rally in Sweden.

When Greta Thunberg slams the COP28 climate deal and Israel, while she waves the Palestinian flag and cries “crush Zionism,” does she have any idea that Israel is, climate-warningly speaking, on the side of the angels, and the Arabs on the side of the devils? I doubt that Thunberg is aware that Israeli scientists have made their tiny country a leader in solar technology, and Israeli solar companies work on projects all over the world; the Jewish state has done more to help the world move away from fossil fuels than all 22 members of the Arab League combined. But it probably would have no effect; Ms. Thunberg has made up her mind: Israel is the oppressor, the Palestinians are the oppressed, and there’s an end on’t. Please don’t try to confuse her with facts.

Goodness, what an unpleasant little creature this Thunberg turns out to be. She’s not for a “two-state solution.” She’s not for a “ceasefire.” No, she wants to “crush Zionism,” which means she wants to put paid — violently — to the tiny Jewish state. And what about the Israeli Jews? Oh, they can scatter to the winds. Why should she care? She’s saving the world.

It takes a moral idiot to “stand with Gaza,” which means “stand with Hamas,” when that same Hamas has just provided the world with a catalogue of horrors. Hamas, the terror group that Greta Thunberg stands with, on October 7 had 3,000 of its operatives swarm into Israeli kibbutzim, where they killed more Jews than had been killed at any time since the Holocaust. But it was not simple killing. No, it was diabolical in its insensate cruelty. Hamas operatives beheaded babies, burned children alive, gang-raped, tortured, and murdered young girls, sliced the breasts off women, gouged out the eyes, and cut off the genitalia off men, murdered children in front of their parents and parents in front of their children, sliced open the stomach of a pregnant woman, pulled out the fetus before killing the mother. They videotaped each other, as they raped, tortured, mutilated, and murdered. They called home, to excitedly tell their proud parents that “I killed ten Jews with my own hands!” These are the people Greta Thunberg is “standing with” when — after October 7 — she “stands with Gaza.”

“The final outcome of #COP28 is not a ‘historic win,’” Thunberg tweeted. “It is yet another example of extremely vague and watered-down texts full of loopholes that in no way is even close to being sufficient for staying within the 1.5° limit and ensuring climate justice.

“Phasing out fossil fuels is a bare minimum,” she wrote in the three-part thread. “We need drastic immediate emission cuts and binding commitments from the largest contributors of [sic]the climate crisis to finance loss and damages, adaptation and a just transition in the most affected areas.”…

Running off at the mouth, is Greta Thunberg. It’s all very well, what she says — she’s asking for the moon and sixpence — but she’s like the Miss America contestant who solemnly tells the judges that when she is not reading Camus and Dostoyevsky, she is “working for world peace” and hopes “to achieve it by the time I’m thirty.” Thunberg offers a wish list — and so can I, and so can any man — but not a single hint as to how her desired climate future will come about. She wants a “phasing out of fossil fuels.” Okay. But which ones in what order? By what date? And to be replaced by what other sources of energy? How do we choose between, say, nuclear power and solar energy? Or solar and wind? Questions, Greta, questions you are incapable of answering..

And why is it, Greta Thunberg, that you did not discuss the real obstacle at the COP28 meeting — the opposition of the Arabs to anything less vague than that adopted promise “to transition away from fossil fuels” in a “just, equitable, and orderly manner”? Or are these mere “details” too trivial for Greta Thunberg, World’s Greatest Authority, to think about?

In October, she posted a photo on X in which she and her friends held signs like “Free Palestine,” “Stand with Gaza,” “This Jew Stands with Palestine,” and “Climate Justice Now.” After that post, the Education Ministry said it would remove any mentions of the climate activist as a “role model” from the nation’s public school curriculum.

Good for the Swedish Education Ministry, that has determined that her anti-Israel remarks disqualify her from being held up as someone for schoolgirls to emulate. Keep on saving the world, Greta. Stick to that. You’ll do less damage that way. And for god’s sake, leave little Israel, now fighting for its survival, alone.

IDF BATTLE VIDEO: Commandos kill dozens of terrorists; uncover intelligence materials

IDF spokesperson: *Over a million dollars for concrete financing: documentation from the deepening of the maneuver of the 98th Division in the Khan Yunis area and the intelligence materials that were located.

For the past three weeks, the fighters of Division 98 have been in an attack on the Khan Yunis area, during which they destroy the enemy and terrorist infrastructure.

The forces eliminated many terrorists in face-to-face battles, located dozens of tunnel shafts that were destroyed and revealed significant intelligence materials that contributed to deepening the effectiveness of the maneuver.

In the last week, the maneuver expanded in Khan Yunis and the Kfir Brigade joined the divisional attack on the armored, infantry and commando brigades.

The maneuver is accompanied by a close and precise fire plan known as the “fire belt”.

The 214 fire complex and the commando formation attack using guided and precise weapons such as the ‘steel stinger’ mortar and other precision missiles. So far, hundreds of terrorist targets have been attacked.

In addition, the IDF and Shin Bet forces eliminated many terrorists through airstrikes, including the head of Khan Yunis’s helicopter formation, the commander of the observation company and field-level commanders in the Khan Yunis brigade.

In addition, during the activity of the forces in the area, a report addressed to the commander of the Khan Yunis Brigade in the terrorist organization Hamas was found, dealing with the financial expenses for 2022.

This is an amount paid to the battalions to cover the expenses of the production of doors and concrete during this year. The expenses exceed one million dollars.
