85% of Republicans and 40% of Democrats believe Middle East refugees pose a major threat to U.S.

cost of illegal immigrants…get this! 40% of Democrats agree!

I love how this is written.  The Reuters reporter says only 40% of Dems have the same fear.  Holy cow, that is a lot of people! Consider also that 74% of plain vanilla Republicans also worry about the resettlement of Middle Eastern refugees into their towns.

I would have guessed the Dems would be a far lower percentage than 40% (so does that mean there might be inroads into the Democratic electorate for Trump?).

Reuters:

Supporters of Donald Trump, the presumptive U.S. Republican presidential nominee, see refugees arriving from Iraq and Syria as one of the greatest threats to the United States, according to a study released on Thursday by the Pew Research Center.

Eighty-five percent of respondents who said they supported Trump saw the refugees fleeing the Islamic State militant group as a threat, compared with 74 percent of Republicans overall, said the study.

[….]

Only 40 percent of Democrats viewed the refugees from the region as a major threat.

The Dems must be told over and over again that Hillary will continue the Obama push for more and more Syrian and Iraqi refugees to colonize America!

Small town school district has students speaking 34 different languages!

And, one in four students is in an ELL class.

We haven’t mentioned Lewiston much recently (no Somali kids have burned down apartment buildings there in the last few years).

This is your usual fluffy story about coming to America and I’m just posting it to tell you about the school system challenges your town will face if it “welcomes” refugees this year.

Trying out headscarves

Besides the expense to the school system, this family obviously entered the US illegally and are in Maine where the welfare is good for so-called ‘asylum seekers.’  They are hoping to persuade an immigration judge that they are legitimate refugees and they have been told to go to Maine to wait out the legal process.

BTW, the article tells us Dad had a job selling cellphones and computers throughout Europe, so why didn’t he simply take the kids on one of his trips to Europe and ask for asylum there?  There must be much more to his ‘story.’

From the Lewiston-Auburn Sun Journal:

LEWISTON — Joao Rodrigues and his children moved to Maine this past winter from Africa.

His children are among the city’s 1,374 students in the English Language Learner program. One out of every four Lewiston students is in the ELL program; most are Somali children, but ELL students speak a total of 34 languages.

Speaking Portuguese and communicating through an interpreter, he shared how he and his children fled their native Angola, a country of unrest and violence. They escaped to the Democratic Republic of the Congo before making their way to the United States. [“making their way” is code for arriving through questionable means—ed]

They arrived in New York in January with nothing. A pastor there recommended he take his family to Maine, where there are African communities and where he could get help.

Clinton and Trump: Where Do They Stand on Islamism?

With Trump and Clinton the de facto nominees, it is time for voters to begin weighing the national security policies of each candidate.

Donald Trump is the all-but-declared Republican presidential nominee and Hillary Clinton on the cusp of winning the Democratic nomination. It is time for voters to begin weighing the national security consequences of each candidate’s potential administration.

You can read our full profiles of the candidates’ positions related to Islamist extremism by clicking here for Donald Trump and here for Hillary Clinton. Below is a summary of six policy areas where they differ:

Defining the Threat

Trump defines the enemy as “radical Islam.” Clinton defines it variably as “jihadism,” “radical Jihadism” “Islamists who are jihadists.”

Defeating the Ideology

Trump said in his foreign policy speech that “containing the spread of radical Islam must be a major foreign policy goal of the United States.” His policy proposals include a vague commitment to use the U.S. military more aggressively, deterring terrorists by killing their families, closing down the most radical mosques and banning Muslim immigration into the U.S. until the homeland is secure and an effective vetting process is established.

Trump is adamantly opposed to democracy-promotion and overthrowing regimes; instead, he favors alliances with authoritarian rulers who cooperate on counter-terrorism. He says, “our goal must be to defeat terrorists and promote stability, not radical change.”

He criticizes Clinton for supporting the overthrow of Saddam Hussein in Iraq, Muammar Gaddafi in Libya, Hosni Mubarak in Egypt and Bashar Assad in Syria. However, a reputable senior foreign policy adviser to Trump, Dr. Walid Phares, is an expert on combating the Islamist ideology and believes in promoting human rights and civil society.

Clinton’s national security platform calls for “defeating ISIS and global terrorism and the ideologies that drive it.” Her strategy emphasizes civil society and a foreign policy that promotes freedom, women’s rights, free markets, democracy and human rights, all if which she believes are necessary in order to “empower moderates and marginalize extremists.”

Clinton says the U.S. needs an “overarching strategy” to defeat the ideology like the U.S. used to win the Cold War. Clinton wants the State Department to better “tell our story” overseas by confronting anti-American propaganda via public engagement.

Clinton’s speech on foreign policy and ISIS also includes confronting state sponsors of extremism like Qatar and Saudi Arabia and identifying “the specific neighborhoods and villages, the prisons and schools, where recruitment happens in clusters, like the neighborhood in Brussels where the Paris attacks were planned.”

ISIS, Iraq and Syria

Trump says he will appoint effective generals who will quickly crush the Islamic State.  He believes the U.S. has “no choice” but to send 20-30,000 troops to fight the Islamic State. He would also attack the families of Islamic State members, bomb oil sites held by the Islamic State and then seize them for U.S. companies to rebuild and own.

He would not support Syrian rebels against the Iran-backed Assad regime; Trump supported Russia’s military intervention in Syria to save the dictatorship. Trump believes he can be a partner with Russian President Putin. He says he would establish safe-zones in Syria to stop the flow of refugees, but neighboring Arab countries like Saudi Arabia would have to pay for it.

Clinton’s speech on ISIS emphasized her opposition to a large ground campaign by U.S. forces, but she does support President Obama’s deployment of about 5,000 troops to Iraq with a limited role. She disagreed with President Obama when she urged U.S. support for Syrian rebels at the beginning of the civil war in order to prevent Islamist extremists from gaining ground.

Clinton also supported using the U.S. Air Force to implement a no-fly zone in Syria and to create safe zones for refugees. Clinton remains committed to ending the civil war in Syria by forcing Assad to resign from power as part of a political transition.

In Iraq, she favors direct U.S. military assistance to Sunni tribes and Kurdish forces fighting ISIS and expanding the U.S. forces’ role to include embedding personnel in local Iraqi units and assisting with airstrikes.

Iran

Trump would terminate the nuclear deal with Iran immediately and pledged to “dismantle” Iran’s global terrorism network in his speech about Israel and the Middle East. He supports placing severe sanctions on Iran to pressure them into a deal that dismantles their nuclear program and ends their support for terrorism.

Clinton supports the nuclear deal with reservations. She has released a 5-point plan to respond to the deal’s negative consequences, Iran’s sponsorship of terrorism and human rights abuses of the Iranian regime. She supports expanding sanctions on Iran for these actions.

Neither candidate has explicitly endorsed overthrowing the Iranian regime, but Clinton took a step in that direction  in 2010 when she said she hopes there will be “some effort inside Iran, by responsible civil and religious leaders, to take hold of the apparatus of the state.” She regrets that she and the Obama Administration did not more forcefully support the 2009 Green Revolution and promises “that won’t happen again.”

Muslim Brotherhood

Neither candidate has endorsed the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act and concerns have been raised about both candidates’ advisers.

One of Clinton’s closest aides, Huma Abedin, was the assistant-editor of an Islamist journal with her family members, some of whom have Muslim Brotherhood links. She has not directly said anything extremist and is married to a pro-Israel Jew. Critics point out that although she has a security clearance, her familial ties may influence her advice to Clinton.

In her book, Clinton seems to understand that the Brotherhood is hostile to the U.S., deceptive and closely linked to Hamas. However, she seems to accept Islamist political parties like the Brotherhood as potential democratic partners. Her State Dept. operation in Egypt gave election training to Brotherhood members and a Clinton Foundation member belonged to the Brotherhood.

One of Trump’s top campaign aides, Paul Manafort, was a lobbyist for Saudi Arabia in the 1980s and a lobbyist for a Pakistani ISI intelligence front in the U.S. that was also closely linked to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Trump has never said anything kind about the Muslim Brotherhood and wanted the U.S. to help keep Egyptian President Mubarak in power.

Why Does the Cold War Matter Today?

Young Austrian Patriots Are High Speed, Low Drag

Last week a few members of the Austrian Identitare, an anti-mass migration youth movement, chose an Adrenalin-filled way to protest a pro-migrant play at the Burgtheater in Austria. Bourne-like footage show the two agile climbers scaling the front of the centuries old stone building with ropes and ladders in broad daylight, hanging a banner at the apex, dropping leaflets, and repelling to the ground while capturing it on video.

More impressive than the feat itself is the fact these young people appear to have a better grasp on reality than the seasoned democratic, left-leaning leadership of Austria. It seems to be plain to Identitare that the massive influx of mostly Muslim immigrants is becoming a very real threat to their safety and identity as a nation. I guess Washington, DC isn’t the only place in the world that sucks common sense out of a person’s brain, but simply surrounding oneself with others who are saturated in political correctness tends to have the same outcome.

Previously, the same play was performed at the University of Vienna when members of the youth group protested by going on stage, interrupting the play, and pointing out the hypocritical ways of those in political power who continue to open the gates to immigrants regardless of the consequences to the citizens themselves.

In response to the play being disrupted, Ms. Bures, president of the  Parliamentary National Assembly, invited the drama team to conduct the play at the Burgtheater, under honorary protection. Three days later a 21 year old University student was brutally gang-raped by three Afghani refugees. This time Identitare showed up to the theater, as the video shows, with a large banner with the word “Hypocrite” which was hung in order to call attention to the political leaders whose actions don’t protect Austrian’s women and children.

Austrian Identitare leader, Martin Sellner can be heard in the video addressing the leadership stating,

“You hypocrites, where are your tears and plays for the victims of terrorism and immigration.”

The youth group is apparently having some sway in the current Austrian election, as the leading right candidate may have gotten a bump from the group’s previous activism. Freedom Party of Austria candidate, Norbert Hofer, recently pulled way ahead in round one of the voting, up some 36%. He sounds somewhat like Trump with his strong border and anti-Islamic stances. Breitbart reports,

“Although Hofer has already declared he would be a President ‘for all Austrians’ and that none would have to fear from his election, it seems likely he would be one of Europe’s most robustly Eurosceptic, and anti-mass migration heads of state. Campaigning under the slogan ‘Austria First’, he has said Austria must stop taking refugees and that ‘I do not want this to become a Muslim country’.”

In addition to Austria’s youth movement, a powerful video was also put out by the German Identitare, called “Future of Europe”. The video displays numerous clean-cut 20 somethings making truthful statements and plausible demands regarding their disappearing European identity as a result of years of multiculturalism, diversity and immigration placed upon them by liberal policies.

Some of the statements mirror our own here in America as we see the European Union breaking down before our eyes as a direct result of those policies and programs that continually put the citizens’ well-being behind immigrants and refugees.

One cannot read the following quotes without identifying with them. They state:

“You do politics which sacrifice our values and traditions for a multicultural Utopia.

You love and support the foreign and hate and fight what is our own.

Identity is costly, we are becoming aware of it again.

You turn people into commodities, children into objects and declare genders and families obsolete.

You create yourselves a new people and turn us into foreigners.”

Their demands are just. Here are a few:

“We demand an end to an educational system which wants to instill us into shame and self-hatred.

We demand the end of societal mainstream in which common sense yields to political correctness.

We do not want a standing place in the parlor. We want the end of a party.”

This all sounds very familiar with the ideological battles we wage here on a daily basis. We need American youth ready to lead like these young people. They are out there, and are needed now to stand up and voice truth in a country not far behind Europe.

Jews are leaving Europe driven out by Muslim migration! Is America next?

The following is an excerpt from a speech given by Ze’ev Jabotinsky in Warsaw, Poland on Tisha B’Av in 1937. [Two years before the Nazis invaded Poland.]

“… it is already three years that I am calling upon you, Polish Jewry, who are the crown of world Jewry. I continue to warn you incessantly that a catastrophe is coming closer. I became gray and old in these years, my heart bleeds, that you, dear brothers and sisters, do not see the volcano which will soon begin to spit it’s all consuming lava. I know that you are not seeing this because you are immersed in your daily worries. Today, however, I demand your trust. You were convinced already that my prognoses have already proven to be right. If you think differently then drive me out from your midst.

“However, if you do believe me, then listen to me in this 11th hour: In the name of G-d, Let anyone of you save himself as long as there is still time. And time there is very little.

“… and what else I would like to say to you in this day on Tisha B’Av: whoever of you will escape from the catastrophe, he or she will live to see the exalted moment of a great Jewish wedding: the rebirth and the rise of a Jewish state. I don’t know if I will be privileged to see it; my son will. I believe in this as I am sure that tomorrow morning the sun will rise.”

It was Jabotinsky’s last Tisha B’Av Message to his largest and most loyal constituency. In a short time both he and they would be gone.  Two years later World War Two started in which Six Million European Jewish men, women and children were murdered in Hitler’s Final Solution. The world said ‘never again’.

This weekend we viewed at a local art theater Son of Saul a powerful and impactful film. It is a Hungarian production that won an Academy Award for the Best Foreign Film this year. The film is set against the background of the October 7, 1944 Sonderkommando revolt about the heart rending search by a Sonderkommano to find a Rabbi to say Kaddish over a teen age boy who briefly survived the gassing at Crematoria IV in Auschwitz Birkenau. Seated next to me were fellow B’nai Israel synagogue members, two local doctors, their daughter and the grandmother, a Polish Jewish survivor. After the viewing of Son of Saul, we held a brief conversation about the grandmother’s experience.  She was all of 11 when her town in Poland was overwhelmed and set ablaze by the invading German Army in September 1939. She and her family fled to a small community where they ended up in a Ghetto. She was liberated by the Russians in 1945 and later evacuated with her sister to a DP camp in Germany where she met her late husband. During the Shoah, her husband, a Polish Jew, as a teenager, fled to the woods to fight with the partisans until his capture by the Germans who incarcerated him in one of the camps. Her late husband said that holocaust film treatments like Schindler’s List barely scratched the surface of what really happened to Jews during the Shoah.

Fast forward to Shoah Commemorations in 2016.

Jews in Paris, Toulouse, Brussels and Copenhagen have been murdered by Muslim émigrés, Al Qaeda and Islamic State returning veterans.  Israeli and European Jews were among those targeted and injured in the March 2016 Brussels Airport attack. Jewish synagogues throughout Europe have been the subject of fire bombings, anti-Semitic graffiti defacing synagogues and members attacked by rioters.  Today it is common for synagogues throughout Europe to be protected by machine gun toting security police or military. Observant Jewish men and youths are fearful of wearing kippots in public. Young girls cover their Mogen David star necklaces. The insurgent far right Alternative for Germany political party has proposed banning Jewish humane ritual slaughter of animals and circumcision for male babies.

Many of 2.5 million European Jews see no future there for themselves and their children.

Surveys of Jewish Communities in France, Britain and Germany attest to the fear of Islamic terrorism and uncertainty of continued protection by national governments of their homes, synagogues and communities:

  • 58 percent  of British  Jews surveyed  felt they might have no long-term future in Europe; and
  • 45 percent felt their families were threatened by Islamist extremism.

40 percent of respondents in a poll of European Jewish leaders published in March 2016 by the International Center for Community Development of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee said that anti-Semitism poses a serious threat to the future of Jewish life in their countries.

Estimates drawn from several EU Surveys indicate that 150 million of the 400 million EU population harbor anti-Israel and anti-Semitic views.

Most troubling EU and Belgian Surveys indicate that Muslims are 8 times more likely than non-Muslims to espouse Anti-Semitism.

Europe’s 44 million Muslim population in 2010 is estimated to grow to more than 58 million by 2030. Perhaps more given the influx of over a million Muslim refugees in 2014 and 2015, alone.

The Muslim population in European countries with major Jewish communities is already significant:

  • Germany and France have the largest Muslim populations among European Union member countries.
  • The Muslim share of Europe’s total population has been increasing steadily and may reach by 8% by 2030.

Muslim population  in major European cities far exceeds national representation.

Here’s what European Jewish Congress President, Dr. Moshe Kantor said:

If hundreds of thousands of Jews leave the European Union, which is becoming a very strong possibility, then it will be judged a failure.

Over the past few years, tens of thousands of Jews have left Europe to seek a safer home elsewhere, and today, one-third of Europe’s nearly 2.5 million Jews are considering emigration. Whole areas of Europe are being emptied of Jews.

Franz Timmermans, EU vice president said:

In the last couple of years we have seen this age-old monster come up again in Europe, which is anti-Semitism. We Europeans, whenever we are in trouble, when there is a crisis, we look for people to blame and throughout the ages Jews have been on the receiving end.

What does this mean for American Jews?

  • Consider launching programs to make American Jewish communities aware that some Muslim refugees may harbor deep-rooted religious and ethnic antagonism
  • Consider fund raising for American sponsored absorption programs for European Jews seeking aliyah  to Israel and immigration to the US; and,
  • Establish joint American /Israeli programs for young Jewish adults as Shaliach, “emissaries” to meet with European Jewish community leaders and peers to assess problems and develop constructive programs to facilitate absorption of those European Jews who wish to emigrate.

One Catholic standing against the wholesale movement of Muslim Syrians to the West

He is the Archbishop of Aleppo, Syria and in this interview with Catholic News Service he is highly critical of Canada’s mass importation of Syrians.  (By the way, we have never seen a breakdown of the percentage of Muslim v. Christian Syrians Canada is admitting.)

Archbishop of Syria

Jean-Clement Jeanbart, the Melkite Archbishop of Aleppo.

I’m guessing he would be even more appalled if he knew how the US Conference of Catholic Bishops takes millions of tax dollars every year and is now busy scattering Syrians to the four winds and into every corner of America.

Here is what he says about the cradle of Christianity potentially being devoid of Christians.

I wonder does this give any good Catholics pause about what is being done in their name when thousands upon thousands of Syrians are scattered for permanent resettlement?

MONTREAL (CNS) — Seated in a quiet room, the Melkite Catholic archbishop of Aleppo, Syria, spoke slowly, in an almost muffled voice.

He goes on to describe a horrible bombing of the city.  Then this….

The city is 8,000 years old. It gave civilization to the world,” said Archbishop Jeanbart, giving details about what Aleppo brought to history, culture, science and economics. Located in northern Syria, until recently Aleppo was a driving force for the country’s economy, providing work to 1.2 million workers and hosting 150,000 university students.

“More than half of the city’s population left over the last four or five years,” added the archbishop who has served there since 1995.

Ever since the war started, Archbishop Jeanbart has said that his wish is to see the population — and especially the Christians — stay in Syria. When asked what he thinks about Canada welcoming 25,000 Syrian refugees in the past few months, he was not impressed.

“We’re not happy when we see the Canadian government moving refugees and facilitating their integration. It hurts us. A lot,” he said.

[….]

….he would rather see the Canadian government making more efforts to allow the Syrian population to stay in Syria.

[….]

We will reconstruct our country. We want to build and stay,” he said, pounding the arm of his chair. “We want it to be our country and stay in this country where Christianity was born, and give a testimony of Christ’s love and charity, and of the possibility to live together, as men believing in God and respectful of one another.”

And, I wonder if the Pope ever listens to others of his faith who clearly must disagree with what he (the Pope) is advocating.

Obama’s Illegal Aliens Disguised as Refugees

Below is the press release from the Center for Immigration Studies this morning.  In fact this effort to expand the definition of who is a refugee is going on world wide as so-called ‘Unaccompanied Alien Children’ (largely teenage boys) are also flooding into Europe. It is not a coincidence!

Teenage boys Texas

Unaccompanied Alien Children arrive at U.S. border in 2014.

For nearly 9 years I’ve watched the definition of the word ‘refugee’ be stretched like a rubber band until now most in the media think that anyone on the move for any reason is a refugee!

But, that is exactly what the No-Borders gang is pushing for.  When you read this remember that a legitimate refugee must prove that he/she has been persecuted for one of several reasons (such as race, religion, political persuasion).

Someone running from crime and wanting a better life does NOT a refugee make!

WASHINGTON, DC (May 2, 2016) — The Center for Immigration Studies has released a new report, “Welcoming Unaccompanied Alien Children to the United States”, analyzing the Obama administration’s persistent efforts to relocate the children of Central American illegal aliens to the United States. The report is online at http://cis.org/Welcoming-Unaccompanied-Alien-Children-to-the-United-States.

When the illegal flow of mostly teen-age boys from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador across the border reached record levels in 2014, the administration at first tried to arrange for them to stay by presenting them as victims of trafficking. But for the immigration benefits of being trafficked to apply, there must be coercion and exploitation; this was not the case.

rush-f1

Next, the administration established the Central American Minors Refugee/Parole Program, to fly the young people directly to the United States. But this program requires that the family members to whom the children are delivered have some form of legal status in the U.S. Because the majority of the minors’ family members in the U.S. are illegal immigrants, the program has not been widely used.

Thus the latest initiative: a new “family reunification program” specifically designed for illegal aliens and their children. In collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the administration is planning to enable illegal aliens to have their children brought to them in the U.S., with the minors labelled as “refugees.” However, by the UN’s own admission most of these children do not qualify as refugees.

The cost to American taxpayers of reuniting illegal aliens with the children they left behind is substantial. The FY 2017 budget request for the Unaccompanied Children (UC) program totals $1.321 billion, making the cost for one UAC likely to be more than $17,000. This is more than double the cost per UAC in 2010.

Nayla Rush, a senior researcher at the Center and author of the report, writes: “We can empathize with children wishing to reunite with family members who make it to the United States before them. … We can also, however, question this administration’s policies and motives and wonder if it is in the best interest of the American people to welcome these children here. … We might even call this program what it really is: a family reunification program specially crafted for illegal aliens and their children under the cover of refugee resettlement.”

(Emphasis mine)

Texas must withdraw from UN/U.S. Refugee Admissions Program

If Texas has no say over refugee seeding now, then the state should simply withdraw from the program and then sue the federal government.

Since 2011, Texas has ‘welcomed’ approximately 7,000 refugees a year so that it continues its distinction as the #1 refugee state in the nation. Looks to me like Governor Rick Perry closed a blind eye to the expansion.

Just as Governor Sam Brownback did in Kansas this week, Texas should “opt-out” of the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program and then when the feds put a ‘non-profit’ group in charge of making decisions that expend taxpayer dollars in the state—sue the feds on Tenth Amendment grounds.  It is that simple (well sort of!).

Abbott tx

Any governor in America who talks big about wanting to get the RAP under control in their state, isn’t doing anything (other than trying to appease voters) until he or she takes dramatic action—like withdrawing from the program altogether.

(For readers who don’t want to kill the program outright, dramatic action is the only thing that will bring enough controversy to even begin to see the smallest effort toward reform.)

This Breitbart headline (Texas Has No Authority Over Agencies That Resettle Refugees in State) and story caught my eye.

Texas is the top resettlement state in the nation and has a governor who has been attempting to protect the state, so why not go for the whole enchilada. (Congress should be protecting you, but it isn’t!)

Read the story here.

texas-ranking

For new readers, know that these states (below) already withdrew (or never had a program) at one point in the past and are now so-called Wilson-Fish states whose refugee programs are run illegally and unconstitutionally by ‘non-profit’ groups hired by Washington.

By the way, experts tell me that the Wilson-Fish amendment to the Refugee Act of 1980 made no provision in the law for the federal agencies to pass the program off to unelected non-profit contractors of the federal government—one of many cases where a federal agency (the Office of Refugee Resettlement in this case) simply made its own ‘law’ through regulations.

If you are in one of these states you must urge your governor/legislature to sue with a states’ rights claim.

I know you won’t get states like Vermont to demand their state’s rights, but heck then if they are that ‘welcoming,’ let the feds just send them all there.

(I saw news last night and tweeted it that the Rutland, VT mayor is welcoming 100 Syrians soon. Follow me on twitter for more news.)

Episcopal Bishop: To hell with the Governor we’ll bring more Muslim refugees to Kansas

Bishop Dean Wolfe: no matter what the governor says we will continue to overload Wichita and other Kansas cities with refugees.

Yesterday we told you that Sam Brownback, the governor of Kansas, withdrew the state from the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program making it effectively the 13th Wilson-Fish state***.

Bishop_Wolfe_laugh_sm

Bishop Dean Wolfe

Wilson-Fish references an amendment to the original Refugee Act of 1980 which basically says that if a state government opts-out of the program, the feds can assign a non-profit group to run the resettlement program in the state.  Think about that! In 12 states right now the feds and a private contractor are making decisions on how to spend state and local tax dollars!

We believe that such a provision is unconstitutional and so does the Thomas More Law Center which has a case ready to file if one brave governor (of a Wilson-Fish state) will step up and be the plaintiff. How about Gov. Brownback?

Or better still how about several brave governors joining forces!  And, if you aren’t in a Wilson Fish state (Texas! for example), you should be urging your ‘brave’ governor to opt-out and then file this lawsuit!

The Tennessee legislature has voted to sue the feds on these Tenth Amendment grounds, see here.

Here is the latest as the arrogant Kansas contractors tell the governor where to go! Maybe you should first read about how the Wichita school system is overloaded with refugees and broke.

“America First!” What about our American kids? No Christian charity for them?

From the Wichita Eagle:

The bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas says his church will continue to help resettle refugees in Kansas despite Gov. Sam Brownback’s decision to withdraw the state from the federal resettlement program.

Brownback cited security concerns Tuesday when he announced he was ending the state’s participation in the program, which helps resettle refugees fleeing war-torn nations.

Episcopal Migration Ministries will continue its resettlement work in Wichita regardless of the state’s position, the Rev. Dean Wolfe said in a statement late Wednesday.

“In the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas we will continue to be an advocate for those who have no voice,” Wolfe said. “With the exception of indigenous peoples, we are all immigrants to this great land.”

The International Rescue Committee, the other refugee resettlement agency working in the Wichita area, has also promised to continue helping place refugees in Kansas.

Federal officials told Kansas officials earlier in the month that they would work directly with local agencies if Kansas chose to leave the program. [This is the unconstitutional Wilson-Fish model—ed]

Muslim Refugee Children get more Welfare Benefits than American Children

Thanks to all who sent this information from Paul Bedard at the Washington Examiner:

America loves kids, but Uncle Sam has a favorite: children of refugees.

Among recipients of food stamps, welfare cash and Social Security payments, refugee children receive more in taxpayer-funded aid than children of citizens, according to a new report on federal spending from the pro-immigration Migration Policy Institute***.

Click here for more and to follow link to the report.  We know that refugees generally get more welfare than American citizens.  See stats in the most recent ORR Annual Report to Congress, here.

*** For regular readers, you may remember that it was the Migration Policy Institute which co-hosted a forum we attended last fall.  I am so interested to see that they would actually publicize information that is critical of the U.S. refugee industry.

When Congress debated the bill that became the Refugee Act of 1980, members were told this was not a program to import poverty.

Kansas: Governor withdraws from federal Refugee Admissions Program…But

Hold the applause! The real test for the Governor will be if he brings a states’ rights lawsuit against the feds, which he can do now that he has withdrawn the state from the program.

But, it simply means that the US State Department/Health and Human Services and their NGO contractors will resettle refugees there anyway as they do in 12 other so-called Wilson Fish States.  See the Tennessee lawsuit.

Governor Sam Brownback (AP Photo/Orlin Wagner)

But, will he explain why he vigorously supported the resettlement of third worlders to the country while he was a US Senator (see 2003 VDARE article), and even as recently as 2014 when he signed a letter with Grover Norquist and others to the GOP to encourage more refugee resettlement for America.

But, here is the true test for the governor—will he take the Thomas More Law Center’s offer of free legal work and file a states’ rights case against the feds once they resettle refugees in the state (expending state money in the process) against the express wishes of the governor.

Kansas citizens need to get to work — no praise for the governor (who helped get America into the fix it is in with refugees) until he takes this final step to redeem himself!  It does not require the state legislature to act as the plaintiff (TN was a special case with a refugee-supporting governor).

Don’t let him get away with saying this withdrawal is all he can do!

Governor Sam Brownback could be the plaintiff in the most important case ever to determine whether the federal government has the right to place a financial burden on state taxpayers by dropping needy third worlders into its towns and cities.

Here is the news from the Kansas City Star from yesterday (hat tip: Joanne):

Gov. Sam Brownback said Tuesday he is withdrawing Kansas from the federal government’s refugee relocation program because of security concerns.

Despite the state’s withdrawal, refugees will continue to be resettled in Kansas, federal officials said.

Brownback had already issued executive orders barring state agencies from assisting in the resettlement of refugees from Syria and other countries that posed a safety risk. The decision announced Tuesday removes the state from the program completely.

Feds to Brownback: we will shove it down your throats anyway (“welcoming” or not)!

But federal officials told Brownback that if the state withdrew, the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement would work directly with local refugee resettlement organizations and refugees would continue to come to the state.

“If the state were to cease participating in the refugee resettlement program, it would have no effect on the placement of refugees by the State Department in Kansas, or the ORR-funded benefits they can receive,” wrote Mark Greenberg with the federal Administration for Children and Families in an April 13 letter to Brownback.

And one more thing…..

The U.S. State Department is taking testimony right now for the FY2017  RAP program (Obama’s last refugee importation plan) and there is no reason that state officials, including this governor, couldn’t send in testimony as well!

Why Donald Trump Should Be the Nation’s ‘#1 Pick’ in November

KAPA COVER DONALD TRUMPCORAL SPRINGS, Fla. /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — A new article from Kapa Publishing makes a strong case for putting Donald J Trump in the White House. “People’s Review: Trump for President” is available on the company’s homepage.

“The wasteful spending in this country has reached critical mass and we need to get it under control,” argues Kapa. “There’s not one politician that has the know-how, strength or boldness to get it done. We need to give Donald J Trump the opportunity to help us make America great again.”

Kapa’s article outlines Donald J Trump’s platform in great detail, looking at all of its major components: Healthcare, Veteran Affairs, Second Amendment Rights, Infrastructure, Taxes, Education and Immigration.

Healthcare

Kapa points to wasteful spending and the excessive influence of Big Pharma and insurance companies as the reason why Americans’ healthcare is so expensive. He suggests Trump, as a political outsider and successful businessman, will be unafraid to rock the boat and deliver real change to a broken system.

Veteran Affairs

Veterans should never have to worry about finding a job or getting healthcare upon their return to the United States. Trump’s platform details how he will achieve this and other objectives that will benefit the nation’s brave soldiers.

Second Amendment Rights

Trump has voiced support for the simple, sane answer to gun violence – universal background checks – but “politics as usual” has prevented its passage, says Kapa. Furthermore, background checks don’t infringe on citizens’ Second Amendment rights, as do some of the more radical proposals.

Infrastructure

As a successful real estate developer, Trump understands the critical importance of modern, well-maintained infrastructure. Investing in roads and bridges could revitalize the nation’s economy, but Washington has neglected this obvious solution over and over again.

Taxes

The nation’s tax code is 70,000 pages long, and the corporate tax rate of 40% is driving job creators overseas. Kapa proposes that cheap labor is only a small part of the issue. With a Trump-led overhaul of the tax code, corporations will return in droves, bringing jobs, opportunity and innovation back to this county.

Education

“Nothing in this world is free,” explains Kapa, “and anyone hoping for free education or healthcare will get a surprise when the tax man comes calling.” Trump, on the other hand, is pushing to make quality education more affordable by trimming wasteful and frivolous projects.

Immigration

The current immigration process hasn’t changed in decades, and it’s most punishing to those trying to become citizens the right way. Because he’s not concerned with votes and election cycles, Trump is able to introduce a new process that guards the borders while making immigration less exhausting for law-abiding, hard-working foreign nationals.

Revealed: Islamic State plot to bring terrorists to U.S. via Mexico

Nothing to be concerned about. It’s so very hard to enter the U.S. illegally from Mexico.

http://henrap/mrap/Print_SubjectPRCreate.cfm?EVENTNUMBER=

Guled Ali Omar

“ISIS suspect reveals plans to open up route from Syria to U.S. through Mexico,” Fox News Latino, April 22, 2016:

One of the American men accused in Minnesota of trying to join the Islamic State group wanted to open up routes from Syria to the U.S. through Mexico, prosecutors said.

Guled Ali Omar told the ISIS members about the route so that it could be used to send members to America to carry out terrorist attacks, prosecutors alleged in a document filed this week.

The document, filed Wednesday, is one of many filed in recent weeks as prosecutors and defense attorneys argue about which evidence should be allowed at the men’s trial, which starts May 9.

The men — Omar, 21; Hamza Naj Ahmed, 21; Mohamed Abdihamid Farah, 22; and Abdirahman Yasin Daud, 22 — have pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit murder outside the U.S. Prosecutors have said they were part of a group of friends in Minnesota’s Somali community who held secret meetings and plotted to join the Islamic State group.

Five other men have pleaded guilty to one count each of conspiracy to support a foreign terrorist organization. A tenth man charged in the case is at-large, believed to be in Syria.

The government’s document was filed in response to a defense request that prosecutors be barred from introducing evidence about possible attacks in the U.S.

Last week, Daud’s attorney wrote that, absent any specific evidence that his client threatened the United States, any references to discussions about attacks would be prejudicial. To permit such references, as well as references to the Sept. 11 attacks or exhibits that show violent images of war crimes, “would cause the jurors to decide out of fear and contempt alone,” defense attorney Bruce Nestor wrote.

But prosecutors said audio recordings obtained during the investigation show the defendants spoke multiple times about the possibility of attacks in the U.S. Among them, Omar spoke of establishing a route for fighters, Farah spoke of killing an FBI agent and another man who pleaded guilty talked about shooting a homemade rocket at an airplane….

International Institute of New England abandons Iraqi Family of Seven

Jeffrey Thielman is the CEO of the International Institute of New England which did not respond to a Boston Globe reporter’s call. This family is his responsibility!

….where are all of you ‘Christian’ do-gooders with your personal charitable giving?

This story should make your blood boil.  We are lectured that we should “welcome” refugees to our towns and cities and then those doing all the yammering leave families like this one high and dry, living in a series of motels and expecting their teenage children to morph into successful assimilated American citizens (yeah right!).

Jeffret Thielman

Jeffrey Thielman, CEO of the International Institute of New England

Read this story, read the whole thing from the Boston Globe on Friday (hat tip: Diane).  And, don’t get mad at the refugees, get mad at your Senators and Members of Congress, get mad at the UN, get mad at the U.S. State Department and get especially mad at the International Institute of New England which brings them in and drops them off!

Do not read this as a plea for more taxpayer funding, but as a plea for a reduction in the number of refugees we admit.  If we can’t take care of them, then don’t bring them.

And, for those of you contemplating ‘welcoming’ refugees to your town for the first time, you will be paying for it.  This article highlights the fact that local and state taxpayer dollars are involved; and, that many of these traumatized families require expensive mental health treatment.

It also points out that your local refugee resettlement contractor simply washes its hands of troubled families and moves on to the next paying ‘clients’ the State Department sends them!

I told you yesterday, that the U.S. State Department is accepting testimony (by May 19th) about the size and scope of the Refugee Admissions Program for FY2017 (Obama has already signaled it will recommend bringing in 100,000 for that year). Someone should write up this story from Massachusetts as an important point in your testimony.

Boston Globe (this is just a bit of the story about the contractor):

Refugee families depend on the federal government to help once they arrive. To assist them, the State Department contracts with nonprofits to help families find an apartment, sign up for health care, enroll in ESL classes, obtain food stamps, and look for employment opportunities. But the organizations are only required to provide guidance for three months, and refugees who need more help must turn to state programs and case managers for other benefits such as welfare.

Samantha Kaufman, a spokeswoman for the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development, declined to comment on the Rubayes’ plight. “We can’t release any personal information about individuals and families,” she wrote in an e-mail.

Dr. Richard Mollica, director of the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma, called for increased refugee benefits from the government.

“If you have a medical problem or a mental health problem or you’re a survivor of torture, the probability that you’re going to make it to independent living after eight or nine months is probably nil,” Mollica said.

Currently, the biggest allotment of financial aid for refugees is a one-time federal payment of $2,025 for each family member. Some families pool those funds for rent and clothing, but at least $900 of each allowance goes to pay administrative costs to such resettlement agencies as the International Institute of New England, which was assigned to the family originally for three months, according to Rubaye. The International Institute did not respond to queries about resettling refugees. [No surprise!—ed]

There is much more, read it all.

See our recent post on the number of (potentially troubled) Iraqis entering the US and note that in recent years Iraqis made up the largest ethnic group admitted (82% are Muslims).  We also have an extensive archive with 688 previous posts on the Iraqi migration to America.

Way back in 2008, a wise Iraqi refugee boy penned a letter to the editor in which he said this about the large number of Iraqis entering the US as refugees:

It is better to have 10 Iraqi refugees who are satisfied with their lives than having 100 angry ones with no life at all.

But, the truth is that resettlement contractors can’t keep their doors open if they slow the flow as each refugee brings money (your taxpayer dollars) per head they resettle.  The whole resettlement model is (wrongly, I believe) built on increasing the numbers we admit! It is not about assuring assimilation and success!

Christian Syrians: Pope Francis Left Us Behind in Lesbos

You knew the minute you heard it—that the Pope choosing 12 Muslims to take to Rome with him on his plane—was one of the more troublesome actions (of a long list) of this Socialist Pope.  See our post on the Pope’s Syrian Muslim refugees by clicking here.

Christian Syrian

Now from the Daily Mail yesterday.  It answers our primary question—weren’t there any Christians and other religious minorities to choose from?

And, this bureaucratic (red tape!) excuse for passing up this brother and sister is ridiculous.

A Christian brother and sister from Syria say they have been ‘let down’ by the Pope after he left them behind in a Lesbos refugee camp despite promises they would be given a new life in Italy.

Roula and Malek Abo say they were two of the lucky ‘chosen 12’ refugees selected by the Vatican to be taken from the desperate camp and housed in Rome.

But what seemed like the chance of a lifetime was cruelly snatched away when they were told the following day they couldn’t go. Instead three Muslim families were taken.

Neither Community Sant’Egidio, the charity which organised the trip, or the Vatican would explain the selection process over which migrants were picked.

Spokesman Massimiliano Signifredi called the incident ‘regrettable’ – adding: ‘The problem here is the three Syrians arrived after the March 20 deadline. They arrived just after the agreement between the European Union and Turkey.

Mr Signifredi said: ‘Our staff went to Lesbos and spoke with the people who were selected. But everything was decided by the Vatican.

‘The question why the Pope took only Muslims is difficult to understand and he was suffering, I think, because he wanted to do something also for Christians as the chief of the Catholic Church. But he couldn’t because there is this international agreement [with the EU].’

There is much more here.
