At War with Iran

“State TV said President Assad’s brother-in-law, Assef Shawkat, and Gen Dawoud Rajha, the defence minister were victims of a blast during a high level security meeting. The Interior minister was also injured. Gen Shawkat was the deputy defense minister and was among the most feared figures in Assad’s inner circle. He is married to Assad’s elder sister, Bushra.” – The Telegraph (UK) July 18, 2012

The best thing now for Syria would be a dead Bashar al-Assad and events are pointing toward that conclusion. The world has been watching the slaughter of Syrians by their own government as Bashar follows in his father’s footsteps.

Events dubbed the “Arab Spring” have forced dictators out of Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt, but left behind nations that are likely not much improved over their previous governments. Middle Eastern states are essentially groups of warring tribes and are divided by the schism between Sunnis and Shiites.

The motivation for these uprisings is the widespread poverty throughout the Middle East and the fact that much of the population is quite young. It is a volatile combination.

At this point, Bashar al-Assad and the minority Alawite tribe that supports him are concentrated on simply surviving. It is a civil war not unlike Libya’s. The earlier uprisings have inspired people to rid themselves of their dictators, but there has been no evidence that their replacements are in a mood to do anything but establish new governments to control the oil wealth that sustains much of the region.

For now, using the covert skills of the CIA, the U.S. is providing arms to the Syrian rebels while the Saudis are picking up the costs. Recall that the U.S. provided similar assistance to the mujahadin who forced the Soviet Union out of Afghanistan. That conflict included the creation of al Qaeda and their appreciation was demonstrated on 9/11.

At this point, other than guarding their border with Syria, the Israelis are concentrated on the threat that a nuclear Iran poses. They are not alone, but the question remains whether the Obama administration would support an attack on Iran. Obama’s animosity toward Israel could require them to wait in the hope of a new president by 2013.

The Israelis have a track record. In the past, when they felt their survival was on the line they destroyed an Iraqi nuclear reactor in the 1981 and a Syrian one in 2007. They have defeated their Arab neighbors in several wars since their founding in 1948.

Technically the U.S. has been at war with Iran since 1979 when the Islamic revolution there included taking 52 American diplomats hostage for 444 days. They were released when Reagan took the oath of office in 1981.

Iran has been the largest exporter of terrorism in the world since then. The ayatollahs have not ceased their quest for nuclear weapons capability and reportedly are closing in on the final stages. Meanwhile, they have developed missiles that could reach Israel, Europe, and even the U.S. Iran is this generation’s equivalent of Nazi Germany in the 1930s.

No matter what the outcome is in Syria, the Iranian leaders will at some point use nuclear weapons, most likely in an attack on Israel because their hatred of the Jewish State is irrational and because of their bizarre belief that they must bring about a global conflagration in order to secure the return of a mythical Twelfth Imam who will usher in a world under the domination of Islam.

Despite the inevitability of a nuclear war no one directing the affairs of this nation and others really wants to face the truth of this or, at least, discuss it in public. It explains, though, why the U.S. has moved a fleet of warships in and near the Strait of Hormuz, the chokepoint of the Persian Gulf and is building other military assets in the Gulf States.

How much of a military remains after the automatic sequester of Defense Department funding depends on the forthcoming election and the capacity of Congress to do anything sensible.

For now there are wars and rumors of war, and the world remains a huge insane asylum.

Drug Cartels Invade Florida: Narco-Terrorists to Follow

“The Mexican drug trade has left more than 50,000 bodies in its wake since 2006, and the cartels appear to be looking to expand their networks. With this in mind, the National Post’s graphics team takes a look at the flow of drugs across the continent,” Jonathon Rivait and Richard Johnson from the National Post report. Their analysis shows at least 1,000 U.S. cities reported the presence of at least one of four Mexican cartels in 2010. Tampa, Miami, Jacksonville and Orlando are among those cities. Tampa, Miami and Orlando reported the presence of multiple drug cartels with six reports of the Gulf Cartel or C.D.G. in Florida.

According to a February 2012 NARCONON NEWS article, “The discoveries of large drug shipments on submarines and fast boats in the Caribbean support the conclusion that South and Central American drug cartels are once again pointing their drug trafficking efforts at Florida.”

“Recent events have spurred concerns that Florida may once again become the target of Central or South American drug trafficking groups. Heightened drug trafficking activity in the Caribbean Sea and in the Dominican Republic point at the possibility that drug cartels are reclaiming their old trafficking channels and bringing their customary violence with them,” notes NARCONON NEWS.

Early this year NBC News Channel 7, in an article titled “Mexican Drug Cartel Busted in the Panhandle”, reported, “Federal and local authorities say the group, called the Gulf Cartel was responsible for bringing millions of dollars worth of marijuana into Florida. The co-ordinated raids began Monday night in Orlando and Washington County. Federal and local officers arrested more than 30 people total, and seized a staggering amount of evidence.”

Hezbollah terrorists working with Mexican drug cartels is the subject of this research paper written in 2014.

The map below was produced by the National Post and shows the infiltration routes and locations of drug cartels across the United States and Mexico:

Concerned Veterans for America hosting Organizational Event in Sarasota, FL

Sarasota, FL – Concerned Veterans for America will host an organizational event at 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in in the Gold Coast Eagle Distributing Confernce Room located at 7051 Wireless Court, Sarasota, FL 34240. This open to the public event will education local veterans, their families and interested citizens about Concerned Veterans for America its mission, vision and goals. Light refreshments will be served.

The Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) mission is to advocate for policies that will preserve the freedom and liberty veterans and their families so proudly fought and sacrificed to defend. The goal of Concerned Veterans For America is to translate the experience, concerns, and hopes of our fellow veterans and their families into a common vision of liberty and freedom. CVA will provide a new and unique perspective on the issues that threaten to cripple not only our economic and national security, but the spirit of opportunity and liberty that we fought to defend and all Americans cherish. The CVA task will be to bring that fresh perspective to the American people and our leaders.

Gary Berntsen, CVA – Florida Director, notes, “Florida is home to over 1.6 million veterans, which is the largest percentage of veterans of any state in the nation. Florida has twenty-one military bases facing severe ‘sequestration’ cuts on January 1, 2013. Florida has two Constitutional initiatives favoring veterans, their families and orphaned children on the November 6, 2012 ballot. It is time for veterans to stand up and participate in the processes that will determine America’s future.”

“The Charlotte, Manatee, and Sarasota county area has over 100,000 veterans and their families. Having lead the successful CIA efforts to take down the Taliban in Afghanistan, Sarasota holds a special place in my heart,” Berntsen said.

There is a strong belief at CVA that the freedoms our veterans have defended – that our friends and loved ones suffered and died for – are threatened by the irresponsibility, broken promises, and misguided priorities in Washington. CVA contends that veterans, service-members, and their families are, and will continue to be, disproportionately affected by the current economic crises. Berntsen says, “We must rally to continue fighting as active citizens, just as we fought as soldiers.”

Gary Berntsen, Director of Concerned Veterans for America – Florida, is a decorated former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) career officer who served in the Directorate of Operations between October 1982 and June 2005. During his time at the CIA, he served as a CIA Station Chief on three separate occasions and led several of CIA’s most important counterterrorism deployments including the United States’ response to the East Africa Embassy bombings and the 9/11 attacks. In December 2001, Berntsen served as the Commander of all CIA forces in Eastern Afghanistan and led the agency’s Jawbreaker team in Tora Bora. He was awarded the Distinguished Intelligence Medal in 2000 and the Intelligence Star in 2004. Mr. Berntsen is also a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Rubio Condemns Obama’s Failure To Recognize Hugo Chavez’s Threat To U.S. National Security

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s assessment that Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez does not pose a serious national security threat to the U.S.:

“It’s now disturbingly clear that President Obama has been living under a rock when it comes to recognizing the national security threat posed by Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez.

“Hugo Chavez is not only a threat to the Venezuelan people’s freedom and democratic aspirations, he has also supported Iran’s regime in its attempts to expand its intelligence network throughout the hemisphere, facilitated money laundering activities that finance state sponsors of terrorism and provided a safe haven for FARC narco-terrorists, among many other actions. Just yesterday, the Wall Street Journal detailed how Hugo Chavez circumvents U.S. and EU sanctions to help prop up the Assad regime in Syria. And even Obama’s own State Department belatedly but rightly expelled Chavez’s consul general in Miami for her ties to a plan to wage cyber-attacks on the U.S.

“President Obama continues to display an alarmingly naïve understanding of the challenges and opportunities we face in the Western Hemisphere.”

In an interview that aired last night on Miami’s Channel 41, President Obama said, “We’re always concerned about Iran engaging in destabilizing activity around the globe. But overall my sense is that what Mr. Chávez has done over the last several years has not had a serious national security impact on us.”

“No More Defense Cuts”

There are twenty-one military bases in Florida and the state is home to 1.6 million veterans. The Coalition for the Common Defense (CCD) has launched a national advocacy campaign aimed at preventing further cuts to the U.S. military of $500 billion dollars or more in January 2013 pursuant to the “sequestration” mechanism created under the Budget Control Act of 2011.

The CCD campaign will feature a series of video advertisements demonstrating the dangers of the sorts of deep and across-the-board defense spending cuts being considered. The first spot premiered today and can be viewed here. The campaign is designed to encourage the American public to express their opposition to these cuts. The Coalition will facilitate such communications with the White House and Senate through a portal at its web-site here.

Regarding the campaign launch and the need to avert sequestration, Frank J. Gaffney, Jr., a member of the Coalition for the Common Defense, remarked:

“Defense has already paid its fair share into deficit reduction and we cannot safely and responsibly try to balance the budget on the backs of our men and women in uniform. This campaign, and specifically the Coalition’s ads, will bring home to the American people the reckless absurdity of these defense cuts – and the need to avoid the train-wreck they will precipitate.”

The mandated sequestration cuts come on top of an already budgeted $487 billion reduction over the next 10 years as part of Budget Control Act of 2011.

The additional $500 billion in sequestration cuts would prove devastating to Florida, both militarily and economically. Militarily, this would result in the smallest ground force since 1940, the smallest Navy since 1915, and the smallest Air Force in history. Economically, sequestration could result in $62.9 billion in lost revenues for defense contractors, projected job losses of over 1.3 million, and an $86.4 billion decrease in Gross Domestic Product.

The House of Representatives has acted on legislation that would stave off budget reductions and their attendant impact for at least a year, giving the executive and legislative branches time to devise a different, less reckless approach to deficit reduction. The Senate has yet to act, with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and President Obama insisting that any such relief must be accompanied by tax increases.

Frank J. Gaffney, Jr. continued:

“The American people do not want the White House and the Senate to hold our military hostage to budget gamesmanship. It is unconscionable to play politics with the arming, training and sustaining of our troops – particularly if, by so doing, the President and Senate leaders may be jeopardizing not only their missions, but their lives.”

The Coalition for the Common Defense is an alliance of like-minded individuals and organizations who believe that without provision for the “common defense,” as articulated by the Founders, the freedom that has allowed unprecedented opportunity and prosperity to flourish in this country would soon be imperiled. In this new age of budgetary cuts, the Coalition rejects the false choice between military strength and economic health contending that economic prosperity depends on a strong national defense. Through a series of events and strategic partnerships, the coalition is calling on elected officials, candidates for office and others who share our commitment to the common defense to uphold these principles. Coalition member believe the United States “must return to sensible fiscal principles without sacrificing our national security”.

FL Counter Terrorism Expert Attacked By Muslim Brotherhood

Sam Kharoba, Founder of the Florida based Counter Terrorism Operations Center (CTOC), is a distinguished law enforcement trainer and an expert on issues related to Islam and Muslim terrorist groups such as al Qaeda, HAMAS, Hezbollah and organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood.

On Wednesday, July 11, 2012 Hasan Shibly, Director of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) will host a press conference in Tampa to keep Mr. Kharoba from instructing Florida law enforcement officers about the threat of radical Islamists and political Islam. CAIR is a Muslim Brotherhood front organization according to documents presented by the FBI at the Holy Land Foundation trial.

According to an email announcing the press conference, Mr. Shibly states, “…CAIR FL will release a letter sent to the FDLE requesting that the department no longer use Sam Kharoba of the Counter Terrorism Operations Center (CTOC) as a trainer on issues related to Islam and Muslims. That letter asserts that Kharoba’s training materials on Islam are riddled with inaccuracies, sweeping generalizations and stereotypes, that he is unqualified as a subject matter expert on either Islam or countering violent extremism and that his training has elicited DISTURBINGLY prejudiced responses from trainees.”

Similar accusations were made in early 2011. Efforts by CAIR and other organizations have been directed at preventing counter terrorism training at the national, state and local levels. Major Joseph M. Bail, Jr. (Ret.), with 40 years of service in the City of Chester, Pennsylvania Police Department, did an extensive review of efforts to prevent law enforcement training on the threat of radical Islam.

Major (Ret.) Bail after reviewing a 2011 Washington Monthly article entitled, “How We Train Our Cops to Fear Islam”  written by Meg Stalcup and Joshua Craze, states:

“In it, the authors clearly fail to convince anyone that police should not be receiving training in counter-terrorism, or that police shouldn’t waste time being informed of Islam, Islamic extremists, or the Islamic perpetrators of terroristic acts. So, they do what all good politically and ideologically motivated journalists do: they attack the people they have singled out as those who represent what they see as the problem. They seem to have concluded that if they can malign those professionals and their reputations, they will still have accomplished their goals. In this case the people they targeted were Sam Kharoba, whom I do not know; John Giduck; Lt. Col. Joe Bierly (who I know and respect); and Maj. Richard Hughbank, a recently retired Army Military Police officer, and author of two books on terrorism. In addition to a law degree, Giduck has a master’s degree in Russian studies and a Ph.D. in Middle East studies he earned at Kings College in London. I do not know Richard personally, but am familiar with his work and the fine reputation he has as a knowledgeable professional and who served our nation for 22 years in uniform.” (To read the entire column click here)

“As I have no contact with Mr. Kharoba I cannot address the specific allegations against him. But if the skewed and misleading reporting, and baseless character assassination they engaged in with the others is representative of their entire article, I would have serious doubts about anything they wrote about him,” noted Major (Ret.) Bail.

The first chapter of Mr. Kharoba’s CTOC Training Manual states, “Most of us have heard statements similar to ‘Islam is a religion of peace’ and that ‘Muslim radicals hijacked, twisted and altered Islam to justify their Jihad against non-Muslims.’ This book will provide definitive proof contradicting these statements and allegations.”

Executive Tyranny

The use of Executive Orders (EO) goes back to the first President, George Washington. Every chief executive has issued them since then. Some have been historic, but the latest Executive Orders of President Obama are downright scary.

The Executive Order signed on June 25 is titled “Russian Highly Enriched Uranium” and offers as its justification the fact that “the accumulation of a large volume of weapons-usable fissile material in the territory of the Russian Federal continues to constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States, and hereby declare a national emergency to deal with that threat.”

A national emergency? Over Russian nuclear material?

Are we still in the Cold War?

Are we facing another Cuban Missile Crisis?

Are the Russians getting ready to launch a nuclear attack on the U.S.?

Are the Russians provocateurs? Yes, but what else is new?

The justification for this Executive Order is absurd.

The world is filled with nuclear weapons held by both our allies and our presumed enemies.

Having proclaimed a national emergency, why hasn’t Obama gone on television to inform Americans? Because, like everything else he does, it is done with stealth.

A previous Executive Order issued on March 16th evoked an even stronger response from those paying attention to what the President is doing. On March 22nd, Jeffrey T. Kuhner, a columnist for The Washington Times, wrote:

“President Obama has given himself the powers to declare martial law—especially in the event of a war with Iran. It is a sweeping power grab that should worry every American.”

“On March 16th, the White House released an executive order, ‘National Defense Resources Preparedness.’ The document is stunning in its audacity and a flagrant violation of the Constitution. It states that, in the case of a war or national emergency, the federal government has the authority to take over almost every aspect of American society. “

“Food, livestock, farming equipment, manufacturing, industry, energy, transportation, hospitals, health care facilities, water resources, defense and construction—all of it could fall under the full control of Mr. Obama.”

“He now possesses the potential powers of a dictator. The order is a direct assault on individual liberties, private property rights and the rule of law. It is blatantly unconstitutional.”

Bear in mind that Article I, Section 1, of the Constitution states that “All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.”

“Specifically, the imposition of martial law by the national government over a state and its people, treating them as an occupied nation, is an act of war. Such an attempted suspension of the Constitution and Bill of Rights voids the compact with the state and with the people.” –

There has not been a peep out of Congress.

In the last decade the U.S. went to war in Afghanistan and Iraq without a “national emergency” being declared. Whether or not the U.S. goes to war with Iran, Obama has granted to himself sweeping powers consistent with a dictator, not a Chief Executive. The Middle East rumor mill suggests that either he and/or Israel might do that in October.

Recall that the financial crisis of 2008 occurred conveniently before the election that put him in the Oval Office.

In point of fact, Executive Orders do not require Congressional approval to take effect, but they carry the same legal weight as laws passed by Congress. The authority for Executive Orders is found in Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution which grants the President “executive power.” The orders, however, are understood to give direction and guidance to the Executive Branch agencies and departments.

The latest Executive Orders are not “a conspiracy theory.” They are the law of the land.

In the case of the National Defense Resources Preparedness Executive Order, it puts the Executive Branch in total control of everything and everyone in the nation. This includes the power to arrest and detain anyone deemed a threat to the nation.

A study, “Profiles of Perpetrators of Terrorism”, commissioned by the Department of Homeland Security identified the following characteristics of potential “terrorists.”

  • Americans who believe their “way of life” is under attack;
  • Americans who are “fiercely nationalistic (as opposed to universal and international in orientation)”;
  • People who consider themselves “anti-global” (presumably those who are wary of the loss of American sovereignty, opposed to the United Nations, etc.);
  • Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority”;
  • Americans who are “reverent of individual liberty”;
  • People who “believe in conspiracy theories that involve grave threat to national sovereignty and/or personal liberty.”

This is a President who called for a “Civilian National Security Force” on July 2, 2008, one that would be “just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded as the U.S. military.”

Obama is putting in force everything a tyranny requires to replace the Republic.

Israel Under Attack and the World Ignores It

By Dr. Rich Swier – Israel has historically founded its use of military power, specifically war and warlike actions, on self-defense. Since its establishment in 1948 attacks against Israel have been conducted in violation of international, and the natural laws, of self-defense. Former Secretary of State Daniel Webster addressing the British attack upon the steamer Caroline on December 29, 1837 on the Niagara River in Schlosser, New York declared that for an act to be self-defense, it “must be a necessity of self-defense, instant, overwhelming, leaving no choice of means and no moment of deliberation.” According to Webster self-defense must be proportional and “not unreasonable or excessive.”

The Caroline incident has become the international basis of nations using military power in anticipatory or preemptive self-defense. This concept was codified in 1928 by Secretary of State Frank Kellogg, author of the Kellogg-Brian Pact, also known as the Pact of Paris.

Israel has the right under international laws to act in self-defense. The following report was submitted from Israel by Marc Kahlberg, President of MK International Security Consulting a former IDF officer and former member of the Israeli police forces:

More than 140 rockets have been fired into the South of Israel from terrorists based in Gaza since Monday, prompting Israel on Thursday to lodge an official complaint with the United Nations. (I have yet to hear the UN call for an emergency session to discuss this).

The Israeli Ambassador to the UN advised UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon that “the lives of about a million Israelis are paralyzed” by the projectiles.

Israel fully cooperates with the UN, allowing civilian material and humanitarian aid into Gaza contraray to what the one sided media reports.

On the other side of the UN one sided coin, they do nothing to stop the continuous flow of weapons in the Gaza strip that are used for purposes in escalating the terror on innocent Israeli’s.

This morning after the IDF targeted terrorirsts attempting to fire Grad missiles into Israel’s civilian populations. The world media suddenly came alive and very and very systematically reported in the bias fashion that they have been accustomed to now for several years, that the Israeli IDF attacked and killed 2 Palestinians in Gaza and wounded 17. Why did they not report on those Israeli’s injured over the past 5 days?? or the physical damage to property?? or the closing of business and schools and cancelation of year end graduation ceremonies?? or the fact that it s now school holidays for the summer break and kids are forced to be in shelters instead of outside and enjoying the well earned break?

It should be said that since Monday this week we have had almost 150 missiles fired into the civilian sectors of Israel, placing alomost a million people eithier in bomb shelters of within a 15 second distance from them. Sderot is yet again under attack and a factory was hit today with injuries and serious damage.

Even the Israeli mainstream media are downplaying this latest barrage of blatant and very well planned tactical terror of Hamas and their MB cronies and only give 5th page news at best, in the printed media and a few seconds coverage on the main TV news reports.

I have noticed that there are all sorts of appeals from very good non profit groups around the world, asking for donations in building new bomb shelters etc;

I appeal to the non profit groups who are really trying to do good things to start creating a lobby on how to be pro active and prevent the rockets and missiles in the first place- start doing something other than reactive appeals for bomb shelters. We dont want to live in bomb shelters or even go near them. we want to and have the right to live in peace.

Pressure the politicians to stop this bombing barrage. The results of all of this terror that obviously CAN BE STOPPED BY THE IDF if the GOVERNMENT makes decisive decisions and puts a stop to the stupid “ping pong” of “they fire- we defend ourselves” tactics. The after veffect results will be very bad not only for our economy in the short term but terrible for the economy in the long term coupled by the fact that there will be certain post traumatic stress disorders for almost 1 Million people in the near future.

This is an appeal to all of my freinds on fcaebook to share your comments, share and reach out to all of those that you know to lobby those in decision making positions to do all they can to stop the terror groups NOW and to ensure that the journalists report on what is actually going on in all of the areas surrounding Gaza.

We are witness to a new front being opened in the terror war against Israel and the fence that Israel has been forced to build along our Egyptian border, for several reasons, will not be a serious detterrent as at this stage all a terrorist needs in an Egyptian soldier to bribe and a wire cutter.

The co-authors of “Fighting Today’s Wars: How American Leaders Have Failed Our Warriors“, David G Bolgiano and James M. Patterson write, “The Pact of Paris renounced war as a mechanism to resolve international disputes, and later served as the basis for the charge of crimes against peace prosecuted against Nazi war criminals at the Nuremberg International Military Tribunal following World War II. Kellogg recognized that a sovereign nation [today’s Israel], by means of its individuals, has an inherent right to defend itself from outside aggressions, and that right was neither created by, nor can be abrogated by, written international law or treaty.”

The words of Secretary Webster and Secretary Kellogg’s pact apply today in the Middle East.

Emerge USA the new ACORN with a Twist?

By Dr. Rich Swier – According to its website, “Emerge USA began as the Center for Voter Advocacy (CVA) in 2006.  Since that time we have worked to create relationships with elected officials throughout the state of Florida.   In 2009 we merged with a group of similarly active communities from Texas and became Emerge USA, a registered tax deductible non-profit with 501(c)(3) status from the IRS.”

The broad goal of Emerge USA is: “To take the Muslim, South Asian and Arab American (MASA) communities and other underrepresented communities and training them on how to engage the political party structure so that instead of hoping to have our voices heard from the outside we can guarantee our voices will echo loudly on the inside.  Emerge carries out its mission through three unique lines of programming: Emerging Voters, Emerging Data and Emerging Leaders.”

The leaders of Emerge USA are: Khurrum Wahid a criminal defense attorney based in South Florida, A.J. Durrani a senior project manager for Shell Oil in Houston, Texas, Nauman Abbasi a Businessman based in South Florida, Zeba Khan the founder of Muslim Americans for Obama in 2008, and Arif Ghafur a Professional Engineer by trade and an active community organizer in Houston.

Joe Kaufman and Beila Rabinowitz in a February 2012 article for wrote, “A radical Muslim group with ties to the Obama Administration will be featuring the head of the Democratic National Committee, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, as the keynote speaker for its annual fundraising banquet this coming April.”

The “radical Muslim group” Kaufman and Rabinowitz are referring to is Emerge USA.

Kaufman and Rabinowitz report, “Laila Abdelaziz, the Field Coordinator of EMERGE, denounced Israel in a question she posed to President Obama, during a January 2010 town hall meeting he held in Tampa, Florida. ‘[W]hy have we not condemned Israel and Egypt’s human rights violations against the occupied Palestinian people, and yet we continue supporting them financially with billions of dollars from our tax dollars?’ she belligerently asked.”

Kaufman and Rabinowitz found Khurrum Wahid, the Chairman and main face behind EMERGE:

“[H]as defended individuals charged with allegedly committing or conspiring to commit acts of terrorism…

Some of Wahid’s clients include: Rafiq Abdus Sabir, who received a 25 year prison sentence for conspiring to provide material support to al-Qaeda; Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, who was given a life sentence for being a member of al-Qaeda and for plotting to assassinate President George W. Bush; and Hafiz Muhammed Sher Ali Khan, who is awaiting trial for conspiring with others to funnel at least fifty thousand dollars to the Pakistani Taliban for the purpose of murdering American troops overseas.

Wahid, as well, created a legal fund for Tashnuba Hayder, a girl who had been identified by the FBI as a potential suicide bomber and who was later deported to Bangladesh, as she was considered an imminent threat to the security of the United States. Currently, Wahid is soliciting funds on his law office’s website for the defense of his client Hafiz Khan (above) and his son Izhar Khan, whom Wahid calls a ‘rising star’.”

“Prior to helping found EMERGE, Wahid was a legal advisor for CAIR National and a director of CAIR’s Florida chapter. In 2007 and 2008, CAIR was named by the U.S. Justice Department as a co-conspirator to the financing of millions of dollars to Hamas. At CAIR-Florida, Wahid had taken the place of Foad Farahi, an imam of a radical mosque, who the FBI has suspected of having had dealings with al-Qaeda operatives – “Dirty Bomber” Jose Padilla and Adnan Gulshair el-Shukrijumah – and who was arrested last month for “transportation violations,” report Kaufman and Rabinowitz.

Kaufman and Rabinowitz also note, “The Executive Director of EMERGE, Nauman Sabit Abbasi, is the President of Public Relations for IFSF. The IFSF Youth Group is run by Abdur Rahman al-Ghani, a fan of Hizb ut-Tahrir, whose Facebook site is littered with fanatical anti-America, anti-Israel and Islamic supremacist language. This month, al-Ghani posted to his Facebook, “[Y]es, Allah (SWT) has Decreed that we will over-take the World in numbers…”

Emerge USA is ACORN with a shariah Islamic twist.

NOTE: Joe Kaufman is a Republican Congressional primary candidate in Florida District 20. The winner of the Republican primary will be running against Democrat Rep. and DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.

Shariah comes to Florida

Bring Al Maghrib to South Florida has announced its 4th seminar titled, “Divine Design of Islamic Law: Objectives of the “S” Word – Shariah”. The seminar is being held at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on June 23, 2012. According to the Al Maghrib Facebook page the topic is “on one of the most mis-understood topics in the West – Shariah”.

“Shariah is the absolute word of Allah (swt); a moral and religious code that governs Muslims and humanity. It brings out the best in humans and society because quite simply it is the command of an All-gracious and merciful lord. Yet to mainstream media and the common person, the word shariah brings connotations of extreme punishments, harshness and oppression,” notes the Al Maghrib seminar event page.

The term maghrib is in origin an Arabic word for “west occident”, denoting the western most territories in Africa that fell to the Islamic conquests of the 7th century. The word shariah means the path or the “way to the watering hole”. Islam means to submit. Shariah is therefore defined as the path to submission (Islam).

The seminar is being taught by Imam Shamudeen from Islamic Center of Charlotte, North Carolina. According to Al Maghrib, “This seminar will give an introduction to Islamic law with an emphasis on it’s beauty and practicality to us as well as teaching us how to defend it when faced with criticism.”

During the 2012 Florida legislative session Senator Alan Hays (R-Umatilla) introduced SB 1360, known as the Florida Laws for Florida Courts bill. SB 1360 went through the committee process of both Florida houses. The bill was written to prevent shariah and other foreign laws from being used in Florida courts. The bill passed by a veto proof majority in the Florida House but Senate President Mike Haridopolos did not bring it to the senate floor for a vote. Proponents are expected to bring SB 1360 up again during the 2013 legislative session.

Moderate Muslims have a problem with shariah law including Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, a devout practicing Muslim, Arizona physician and founder of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AFID). Dr. Jasser has testified before Congress and Rep. Peter King’s House Committee on Homeland Security. Dr. Jasser defines the threat to America as “Islamism, a theo-political movement that uses shariah to try to control society and prevent liberty”.

Dr. Jasser in his book “A Battle for the Soul of Islam: An American Muslim Patriot’s Fight to Save His Faith“, writes, “I owe the United State a profound debt of gratitude and service for all the rights and blessings it has bestowed upon me and my family. It that sense I see myself as an American first, a Muslim second … For Islamists, the thinking is reversed: Islam comes before all else, and everything should be done to make this religion the dominant one in the world and for laws to be based not on secular agreement but purely on shariah (“the way to the watering hole”, or Islamic jurisprudence).”

Dr. Jasser defines Islamism or political Islam as a “malignancy in such a politicized, radicalized version of Islam that threatens not only all free-thinking Muslims but the world at large”. Dr. Jasser warns we under-estimate this threat at our peril. He notes on page 20 of his book, “If the Islamists have their way, the United States will find itself with a nation within a nation one governed by the precepts of the U.S. Constitution, the other under the sway of shariah. More important, abroad, if the the Islamists have their way, U.S. power (soft and hard) will wither and the fifty-seven states of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will flourish vis-á-vis Islamic states.”

Dr. Jasser and other reform minded Muslim have called for a separation of the Mosque and the state (shariah). Dr. Jasser believes, “The real threat to Islam is not external but internal, and it is embodied by the extremists who preach hate and violence in the name of God (Allah)”.

Rep. Tom Rooney (FL-16) calls for investigation of Muslim Brotherhood infiltration of Obama Administration

Five influential Members of Congress including Florida’s Tom Rooney (CD-16), an Iraq combat veteran and former JAG Officer, called yesterday for the inspectors general (IGs) of government departments with national security responsibilities to investigate whether their agencies are being subjected to influence operations mounted as part of what the Muslim Brotherhood calls its “civilization jihad.” Rep. Tom Rooney is Deputy Majority Whip and a member of the House Armed Services Committee. This initiative holds out hope that a grave, and largely unremarked, threat may thus be recognized and thwarted in time.

Joining Florida’s Rep. Rooney in signing letters sent to the Inspectors General for the Departments of State, Justice, Defense and Homeland Security and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence are:

Rep. Michele Bachman, a member of the House Intelligence Committee and Chairwoman of the House Tea Party Caucus

Rep. Trent Franks, Chairman of the House Judiciary’s Subcommittee on the Constitution a member of the House Armed Services Committee

Rep. Louie Gohmert, Vice Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security

Rep. Lynn Westmoreland, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee’s Oversight Subcommittee

In a joint press statement, Rep. Rooney and the other congressional leaders expressed profound concern about the dangers posed by the Muslim Brotherhood and the need to understand that threat here in the United States. They cited in their letters evidence of the penetration of Brotherhood operatives and allies inside the Obama administration, and examples of policies that appear to have been influenced as a result.

The legislators explicitly draw upon documentation of that evidence contained in Parts 8 and 9 the Washington, D.C. based Center for Security Policy’s ten-part online video curriculum: The Muslim Brotherhood in America: The Enemy Within (

Frank J. Gaffney, Jr., President of the Center for Security Policy, said:

“These five key legislators are to be commended for their exemplary leadership on a matter of utmost peril to this country – namely, the stealthy effort being made by avowed enemies of this country, the Muslim Brotherhood, to destroy us ‘from within.’ Their request for the five inspectors general to conduct investigations of the Brotherhood’s progress toward that end – and report back within ninety days – will hopefully be seconded by others in both parties and be swiftly addressed by the IGs, given their responsibility for conducting such independent inquiries within executive branch agencies. The Center for Security Policy’s extensive research, and the online course that presents it, shows those inquiries are fully warranted and urgently needed – as are, for that matter, corresponding investigations by the Congress, as well.”

Appeasement is the Art of Losing Slowly

I am a student of America’s foreign policy. During my twenty-three years in the U.S. Army I helped implement our foreign policy both here and abroad. The primary enemy of the United States during my career was the former Soviet Union. I say former because we won the Cold War.

During my twenty-three years of active duty I served seven U.S. Presidents. Some were strong and some were weak when dealing with the Soviet Union. For a third of my career “détente” was the basis of our foreign policy. The term was used in reference to the general easing of relations between the Soviet Union and the United States in 1971, a thawing at a period roughly in the middle of the Cold War. Détente ended after the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan on December 24, 1979.

May I suggest that détente was another word for appeasement, which is the art of losing slowly?

I was stationed in Germany on a date that is etched forever in my mind – September 5, 1972. On that day an Islamist group called Black September invaded the peaceful Olympic village in Munich, Germany. Sixteen innocent and unarmed Israeli athletes and one German police officer were killed. This year marks the 40th Anniversary of that attack. So what did I learn about Islamists on that fateful day? I learned that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I also learned on that day everything I needed to know about shariah Islamists and their ideology.

Let us fast forward to November 4, 1979 and the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, Iran. On that date the United States learned in very stark terms all it needed to know about shariah Islamists when fifty-five U.S. embassy employees were taken hostage. But what did President Carter learn from that experience? Appeasement is the art of losing slowly because in the end President Carter lost the Presidency to Ronald Reagan. It was only minutes after President Reagan was sworn in that the hostages were on an airplane headed home. Why, because the Iranians knew that President Reagan would not appease them rather he would use the full force of our military to end the hostage crisis. It was President Reagan who called the former Soviet Union an “evil empire” and confronted its leaders rather than appease them. President Reagan knew that appeasement is the art of losing slowly.

Let us fast forward to September 11, 2001 and the fateful events on that day. Yet again we saw the resiliency of shariah Islamists to do what they say they will do. It also showed how both Presidents George H.W. Bush and President Bill Clinton misunderstood the lessons of September 5, 1972 and November 4, 1979. While President Bush did push Saddam Hussein out of Kuwait he failed to see the global threat posed by shariah Islam. President Clinton had numerous opportunities to take Osama bin Laden into custody but failed to do so. President Clinton continued to deal with the issues in the Middle East by negotiations and appeasement of the Palestinians. His hope for a solution led to intifada – a holy war against Israel that has not ended.

Let us again fast forward to the P-5 +1 talks concerning Iran and its quest to obtain nuclear weapons. Since September 5, 1972 every U.S. President has tried diplomacy and sanctions to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.  Détente, the failure to define Iran as an enemy and diplomacy are different forms of appeasement. Each slowly leads to the appeaser losing. Time is always on the side of those who are being appeased.Dr. Jay Bergman, Professor of History at Central Connecticut State University, in his column “Understanding the Iran talks” writes, “[A]n analogy comes to mind that suggests what the results of these negotiations are likely to be. The analogy is with the Munich conference at the end of September 1938, at which Nazi Germany, Italy, France, and Great Britain forced Czechoslovakia to cede to Germany the so-called Sudetenland, in the western part of the country, where some (but by no means all) of the three million ethnic Germans living there were demanding, in the name of self-determination, that it become part of Germany.” “For good reason Munich has become code for the appeasement of regimes that cannot be appeased because there is no limit to the demands they will make,” notes Professor Bergman.

We have new words for détente, they are coexist and tolerance.

Let us fast forward to today. Our leaders tell us we must peacefully coexist with shariah Islam and embrace Islamic beliefs in the name of religious tolerance. We cannot criticize those who daily criticize us. We cannot call for the end of oppression under Islamist rulers, secular and theocratic alike, even though these Islamists call for our death and destruction on a daily basis. We must tolerate those who have sworn to kill us in the name of our Judeo/Christian beliefs.

Jerry Gordon, Editor of the New English Review and Middle East expert put it best when he wrote, “Islamic countries are wedded to an ossified totalitarian creed denying civil and human rights and a future – the basis of the Judeo Christian value system and Western dynamism.”

I close with the words of Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, author of “A Battle for the Soul of Islam”, whose family for three generations has fought political Islam in Syria and the United States. Dr. Jasser writes, “If the Islamists have their way, the United States will find itself with a nation within a nation, one governed by the precepts of the U.S. Constitution, the other under the sway of shariah.”

Dr. Jasser notes the observation of French philosopher Joseph de Maistre who wrote, “Every nation has the government it deserves.” I for one want to retain and strengthen our Constitutional Republican form of government. Something every American, regardless of faith or belief, must embrace or we will continue to lose slowly our liberty and freedoms.
