Multiculturalism Makes its Mark Everywhere Now! [Video & Links]

1. A single 13 year old was charged in the ‘Lord of the Flies like’ attack on a Canadian playground.

The excuses in the CBC video are pretty pathetic. But it is CBC. They must direct people away from the truth.

2. Police Celebrate End of May: ‘Her Legacy One of Misery’, ‘Country Less Safe’, ‘Officers Will Shed No Tears’

Police officers across the country are celebrating Theresa May’s resignation, having been thoroughly alienated by the Prime Minister in her previous role as Home Secretary under David Cameron.

Theresa May presided over massive cuts to police budgets and manpower during her tenure, and made “taking on” the Police Federation which represents rank and file officers up to Chief Inspector one of her signature stances — although she seemingly enjoyed a more collegial relationship with politically correct senior officers, such as Metropolitan Police chief Cressida Dick.

As Home Secretary, Mrs May attended Police Federation conferences and publicly berateddelegates for “crying wolf” and “scaremongering” when they claimed the cuts — abetted by the left-wing Liberal Democrats, who were in a coalition government with the Tories until 2015 — would destroy neighbourhood policing and lead to the adoption of a “paramilitary style” of policing.

3. CBC’s ‘Tout Le Monde En Parle’ Suspended From Twitter For ‘Glorifying Terrorism’ After Disgraceful Omar Khadr Segment

(Just the opening of the show, where Khadr walks out onto the stage to tumultuous applause was enough to give you gall stones. Im glad that some tiny measure of justice appears to have come their way surprisingly from Twitter of all places. Chances are it won’t stick though. But as Spencer says, this is just one more reason that the CBC MUST be defunded,)

The Post Millennial is reporting that ‘Tout le Monde en Parle,’ the taxpayer funded French-language CBC program that hosted Omar Khadr and gave him a sickeningly fawning reception, has been suspended from Twitter.

The suspension is listed as being for ‘glorifying terrorism’:

“According to the official Radio-Canada website a disgruntled user took credit for the account suspension claiming the program was “glorifying terrorism” and that it was a “terror apologist”.

Khadr, who was convicted of being responsible for the death of U.S. Army Sergeant Christopher Speer, entered the program’s studio to general applause before being interviewed by the TV show’s host Guy A. Lepage.”

(Glorifying terrorism puts it perfectly)

4. More on the children who attacked a woman with rocks, fists and feet because she asked them to stop throwing rocks at others.

5. Anne Marie Waters banned on Twitter:

Anne Marie Waters has been banned from Twitter, no doubt because she is a vocal critic of Islam as an ideology, sharia law and a particular demographic of the Muslim population.

Such views are incompatible with far-left apologists, and as a result, they have campaigned with all their might to get her removed.

Anne Marie is on the “far-left hit list” of groups like Resisting Hate, who aim to “take down” who they perceive as being “high profile haters” with large social media followings.

That is the Modus-Operandi of the far-left; they silence voices and opinions that run counter to their own political and cultural world view. They perfectly personify the true meaning of Fascism.

7. France: Over 250 Convicted Islamic Terrorists Set for Prison Release by 2022

French justice minister Nicole Belloubet has announced details of a new national anti-terrorist office to deal with threats including 254 convicted Islamic terrorists set for release from various prisons by 2022.

Created earlier this year, the National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT) is expected to begin its formal operations on July 1st and one of its most important operations, according to Ms Belloubet, will be the tracking of convicted Islamic terrorists who have been released from prison, Le Mondereports.

Belloubet said that currently there are 510 individuals being held in French prisons following convictions for Islamist terrorism, but around half — 254 — will likely be released by 2022.

Along with the 510 convicted of terrorism, Belloubet said that she believed there to be another 943 prisoners who were convicted of other offences and radicalised in prison.

To deal with radicalisation, the minister said that the government had developed 1,500 or so cells in blocks where radicalisation could be assessed, and a further 600 cells would be developed to deradicalise extremists.

8. Germany: Police Raids on Iraqi Criminal Network Span 11 Cities

Nearly a thousand police officers took part in raids across 11 German cities this week, targeting an Iraqi organised crime syndicate.

Some 800 police officers searched 49 venues across North Rhine-Westphalia. Most of the 34 arrested suspects were of either Iraqi or Syrian origin or were German citizens with a migration background, according to a report from Austrian tabloid Kronen Zeitung.

The group that was the focus of the raid, named Al-Salam-313, is not very well-known publicly, but has become a part of the biker gang scene in recent years. According to North Rhine-Westphalia Minister of the Interior Herbert Reul, police have become very familiar with the gang.

VIDEO: Even Orwell didn’t anticipate the State Sanctioning the Mass Rape & Sex-slavery of its Children

Last night a few people sent in a link of a video that was about the Labour government under Gordon Brown in the UK, having INSTRUCTED THE POLICE NOT TO INVESTIGATE the massive muslim RAPE GANGS in the UK.

Scratching my memory it was Richard and PePo I believe. Thank you to both and anyone else who sent it in.

Both links showed as “Video Unavailable” when I clicked the links.

So I will endeavour to post everything I can about the story here and in future posts.

In other news, Theresa May promises to step down at some point in the future, much like she promised BREXIT I suppose.

More to be posted on this.

Anyone even vaguely interested in knowing the facts behind this crime of all time, should buy and read the book, Easy Meat, on Amazon.com.

Sheffield major incident: Two boys dead as streets cordoned off – police on scene

Two boys, aged 14 and 13, were confirmed dead by South Yorkshire Police, while four children between the ages of seven months and 11-years-old remain in hospital. The cause of death has not been established but two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Emergency services were called to an incident near Hartley Brook Primary Academy in Sheffield at 7.30am this morning.

Four ambulances and 15 police cars attended the scene, while an air ambulance landed on the school playground. There is a large police cordon in place.

The incident happened at a property in Gregg House Road in the Shiregreen area in Sheffield. It is believed the property is around 100 metres from the school.

Officers said that the incident is an isolated one and is no longer live. They also confirmed that family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

In summary, 2 people are arrested for an event at a school which killed two boys.

NYC: Hundreds of Jews protest against Ilhan Omar at Times Square

Hundreds of protesters showed up in New York City’s Times Square “to call for the removal of freshman Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.” They comprised of both Jews and Jewish supporters against antisemitism.

“New York native and activist Joe Diamond” who organized the rally stated:  “In my lifetime I cannot think of any other politician who presents a bigger threat to the alliance between the US and Israel and to America’s Jews”.

Many have not called out the uniqueness about Islamic antisemitism, branding the likes of Ilhan Omar (and Rashida Tlaib) as merely “antisemitic”. What makes this kind of antisemitism distinct is the organized pervasiveness of it and the fact that the roots of Islamic antisemitism lies within Islamic doctrine, from the Quran to modern teachings by Islamic scholars.

“The former Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Muhammad Sayyid Tantawi, who was the most respected cleric in the world among Sunni Muslims, called Jews ‘the enemies of Allah, descendants of apes and pigs.’”

According to Saudi sheikh, Ba’d bin Abdallah al-Ajameh al-Ghamidi:  “The current behavior of the brothers of apes and pigs, their treachery, violation of agreements, and defiling of holy places … is connected with the deeds of their forefathers during the early period of Islam–which proves the great similarity between all the Jews living today and the Jews who lived at the dawn of Islam.”

And the Palestinian jihad is sealed within PA, PLO, Hamas and Fatah Charters which aim to obliterate Israel from the river (Jordan) to the sea (Mediterranean). Children in the Palestinian territories are sent to summer Jihad camp and are indoctrinated to hate Jews through school curricula; and pay-for-slay blood money continues to fund Palestinian jihad terrorists.

The New York City protest was organized by the group “Ilan Must Go.” Members planned on a billboard launching “with donations from the Simon Wiesenthal Center, the Zionist Organization of America and others”, but the city denied them a permit, calling the ad “disparaging“. But that did not stop “Ilhan Must Go“. The group launched a “video display on a truck.”

“Speakers at the event included former Democratic New York State assemblyman Dov Hikind and award-winning advocate of Christian Zionism Laurie Cardoza-Moore.”  Moore said something noteworthy, that she “expects to be called Islamophobic” but she is just “against terrorism”. A Washington Examiner article published the telling title about Ilhan Omar: She’s not naive: Ilhan Omar is on the road, raising money for extreme Islamist groups.

Omar has been continuously invoking the dreaded words “islamophobia”, and “racist” when she gets called out, as a means to veil her own Islamic antisemitism.

“HUNDREDS OF JEWS GATHER IN TIMES SQUARE TO PROTEST ILHAN OMAR”, by Haley Cohen, Jerusalem Post, May 22, 2019:

EW YORK – Protesters gathered in New York City’s Times Square late Monday to call for the removal of freshman Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Following the highly-publicized allegations of the Minnesotan congresswoman’s antisemitism and her statement downplaying the 9/11 terrorist attacks, New York native and activist Joe Diamond organized a rally and billboard launch calling for her removal. She is one of the first two Muslim women to be elected to the US legislature.

“In my lifetime, I cannot think of any other politician who presents a bigger threat to the alliance between the US and Israel and to America’s Jews,” Diamond told The Jerusalem Post ahead of Monday’s protest. “This woman is an ardent antisemite, and she doesn’t even try to hide it.”

Omar’s critics had planned to launch a billboard with redacted quotes from the politician, alongside graphic 9/11 imagery. The group, named “Ilan Must Go,” was prepared to spend thousands of dollars on the billboard, with donations from the Simon Wiesenthal Center, the Zionist Organization of America and others. Instead, the detractors put the video display on a truck, as they were unable to receive a stationary billboard permit from local authorities, which cited the ad as “disparaging.”

A screen on the truck flickered with controversial statements Omar has made since being elected in 2018, including her much-publicized and allegedly antisemitic tweet “It’s all about the Benjamins baby.”

Diamond, who originally estimated that the event would bring in 10,000 protesters, said he was pleased with the turnout in the hundreds. Speakers at the event included former Democratic New York State assemblyman Dov Hikind and award-winning advocate of Christian Zionism Laurie Cardoza-Moore.

“We have to utilize every mechanism of media to wake up Americans about the vile hatred of this woman. Christians should also be alarmed. Ilhan Omar is a huge threat to our national security,” Cardoza-Moore said. The activist told the Post that she expects to be called Islamophobic following her statements. “I’m just against terrorism,” she claimed.

Omar’s defenders were among those in the crowd, including a handful of hassidic men who oppose the existence of Israel and a group of Jewish millennials who said that attempts to remove her were an expression of racism and Islamophobia, linked to white supremacy.

“At a Times Square protest against Ilhan Omar, several hundred people with Trump banners and Israeli and American flags are saying the most hateful lies. One man has the flag of The Jewish Defense League, a terrorist group responsible for multiple murders,” author and artist Molly Crabapple tweeted….

No Politics, Just Coffee, Donuts, and Ice Cream At Dunkin’

“We are not Starbucks, we aren’t political — we aren’t gonna put stuff on our cups to start conversations,” says Drayton Martin, vice president of brand stewardship for Dunkin’ Brands (2.1 – Lean Liberal).

The statement during the International Trademark Association conference in Boston, MA earlier this week appeared to take a shot at the Starbucks (1 – Liberal) chain’s penchant for brewing discomfort in the coffee-shop experience.

“We don’t want to engage you in political conversation,” Martin continued. “we want to get you in and out of our store in seconds. It’s donuts and ice cream — just be happy.”

In 2015, then Starbucks CEO Howard Shultz implemented a company-wide campaign stoke conversations on race issues by having baristas write “Race Together” on coffee cups served to customers. Publicly roasted in the immediate backlash, Schultz later admitted, “Starbucks was called tone-deaf and patronizing. We were accused of overstepping acceptable bounds for a corporation, seizing upon a moment of national crisis to promote our brand, and preaching through the company megaphone.”

However, the “Race Together” campaign was not the only time Starbucks and Schultz left customers with a bitter taste. At the company’s 2013 annual meeting, the former CEO suggested investors “sell [their] shares in Starbucks and buy shares in another company” if they opposed the company’s advocacy for same-sex marriage. Also, a 2015 decision to remove “symbols of the season” from the annual Christmas cup design put the company in more hot water.

Dunkin’ would rather not have their customers worked into a froth. “We don’t want people burning their Munchkin boxes,” said Drayton.

Indeed, like ESPN, Dunkin’ appears to be another example of a major brand finding that neutrality is better for business. While it may be a hole in the logic, modern corporate culture is infatuated with political posturing despite what customers want. The new reality in marketing may just be that staying out of the political debate is the easiest way for a company to differentiate itself from the competition.

If these companies are going choose the right blend of listening to what customers want and business strategy, we need to encourage them along the way. Let Dunkin’ (and ESPN by clicking here) know that we support having our coffee without the politics. Use the links below to contact Dunkin’ directly.

Two Profound Acts of Censorship by YouTube these past few days

Lets begin with Laura Southerns documentary, Borderless. We try not to post things unless we have watched it as a rule, so it hasn’t been posted up to now as 90 minutes or so is a luxury not affordable too often. But now its a news event itself. Youtube has been using its most deceptive measures to stop it from being seen.

First this article on Human Events:

YouTube has removed Lauren Southern’s conservative documentary Borderless from their platform. The film was deleted less than 24 hours after Southern made it available to the public on her personal YouTube channel.

Initially, Southern’s team encountered numerous problems in trying to publish the documentary on YouTube. As Southern explains:

“We uploaded the documentary a day before the release, with no issues,” Southern and the Borderless team told Human Events.

‘On release day the film wouldn’t play in the back end—so we uploaded another version. This version uploaded and processed, we could watch it and we set it to premiere. Suddenly the movie began to process again and stopped in time for the premiere.’”

Read the rest at source.

Lets look at Laura’ Twitter feed. If that is even still up.

Hopefully the backup here works for those still trying to watch and share! Please go give it a like and a comment since we lost all 70k views etc. on the last one!

There is over 100,000 views on the backup channel. It is working here so far.

If it goes down I am 100% sure that there will be a way to make sure you can all see it. We on this side of the site will watch it today.

The Second Act: Milo in Germany.

On May 11, Milo addressed Alternative für Deutschland and CDU MPs, journalists and alternative media bloggers in Berlin about press freedoms and Islam. The talk was originally scheduled to take place in the German Parliament, and had to be moved after complaints. YouTube cut the live feed ten minutes into the speech, citing “hateful content” and issuing a strike against the channel hosting it.

My name is Milo Yiannopoulos, and for those of you who don’t know me, I am the most lied-about, most censored man on the planet. So, it’s fitting for me to be here today to address the most lied-about political party in Europe.

… even if we’re not having this speech where we should be. It’s fine, I’m not mad. It’s not like it exposed me to massive global humiliation getting disinvited from the Bundestag or anything.

It was only the Washington Post and maybe 50 or 60 other newspapers. Seriously, don’t worry about it.

I’m not even bothered, shut up!

720 YT version:

The video below appears to be the one censored off the controlled internet.

Below, Tim Poole on the Lauren Southern video and YouTube’s suppression of it.

Disney’s film ‘Aladdin’ about Good Arabs vs Evil Arabs. Sound familiar?

Disney has released their film “Aladdin” much to the chagrin of at least one Muslim group. The film centers on the struggle for power among Arab tribes and has a clear message that the good Arab must defeat the bad Arabs at all cost.

The film portrays a young Arab (Muslim) man of lower class who falls in love with the daughter of the Sultan, Princes Jasmine. It is also about Princes Jasmine wanting to break free from the traditional Arab (Muslim) view of woman as subservient and submissive.

Princes Jasmine want more than anything to be free. Free to do and be who she wants to be. Something that Arab (Muslim) women in general cannot do under Islamic (shariah) law.

Princes Jasmine wants to marry for love, something not generally condoned in the Middle East even today, where young girls are betrothed and married off by families to older men.

The film is also about “Jafar, the Sultan’s Royal Vizier and a cunning and powerful sorcerer who is frustrated with the Sultan’s passive stance on Agrabah’s future, devises a plan to assume the throne himself.” Jafar wants to go to war in order to expand Agrabah’s empire. Princes Jasmine, who has her father’s ear, is against war and becomes an enemy of the evil Arab (Muslim) Jafar.

Sounds like what is happening today in the Middle East.

Watch the trailer:

According to the official Disney Studios “Aladdin” website the film “is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future.”

It appears calling any Arab (Muslim) a “street rat” and depicting a young Arab (Muslim) girl as “self-determined” is offensive at least to one group of Muslims.

In The Blaze article titled “CAIR says ‘Aladdin’ film will worsen Islamophobia and racism because it’s being released under President Trump” Carlos Garcia reports:

The Muslim advocacy group CAIR says that releasing the “Aladdin” film during the presidency of President Donald Trump will worsen racism and Islamophobia, and they want critics to say so.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations says that the story that Aladdin is based on is racist and bigoted.

“The Aladdin myth is rooted by racism, Orientalism and Islamophobia,” read the statement from CAIR.

“To release it during the Trump era of rapidly rising anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant and racist animus only serves to normalize stereotyping and to marginalize minority communities,” it continued.

Now Disney Studios is Islamophobic, bigoted and racist?

Anyone who watched “Aladdin” understands why CAIR is so upset. The film is beautifully made, choreographed and filmed to present a view of the Arab world that is not unlike what is happening even today. There are still Arab (Muslim) kings, sheikhs, sultans and tribal leaders. Even former caliphs. Another reason that CAIR may be so upset is that the two lead actors, Naomi Scott (Princess Jasmine) and Mena Massoud (Aladdin) are Christians. Watch this report from MovieGuide.org.

There are still Arabs (Muslims) who are struggling and even stealing just to survive. Their is the wealthy class that looks down upon the lower class and wants, at all cost, to retain their power over the masses. Sound familiar?

Aladdin in not bigoted, racist or Islamophobic. It is a depiction of life in the Middle East, but with a good ending.

2. Another good reason why the UN has got to go the way of The League of Nations or MySpace or Debbie Gibson.

GENEVA, May 22, 2019 — The annual assembly of the UN’s World Health Organization today voted 96 to 11 for a resolution, co-sponsored by the Arab bloc and the Palestinian delegation, that singled out Israel over “Health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territory, including east Jerusalem, and in the occupied Syrian Golan.”

Hillel Neuer, Executive Director of UN Watch, condemned the delegates’ abuse of the UN body as a forum to target Israel.

“Out of 21 items on the meeting’s Agenda, only one—Item No. 14 against Israel—focused on a specific country. There was no agenda item or resolution on any other country, including Syria, where hospitals and medical infrastructure have suffered devastating bombings by Syrian and Russian forces; Yemen, where 19.7 million people lack access to health care service due to the current crisis; or Venezuela, where the health system has collapsed, causing millions to flee the country,” said Neuer.

“Today’s resolution is a fantastic lie. The UN reached new heights of absurdity by enacting a resolution which accuses Israel of violating the health rights of Syrians in the Golan, even as in reality Israeli hospitals provide life-saving treatment to Syrians fleeing to the Golan from the Assad regime’s barbaric attacks,” he said.

Democrats Now Opposed to Safe Neighborhoods?

Ever since taking control of the U.S. House of Representatives, Democrats have been waging an unprecedented assault on the Second Amendment. Led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Cali.), the caucus has been an entity in virtual lock-step promoting a laundry list of today’s most popular anti-gun proposals. Whether it is banning semi-automatic firearms and placing limitations on magazine capacities, pushing “universal” background checks, imposing potentially endless waiting periods, or trying to use financial institutions to drive their political agenda, anti-gun Democrats are looking to exploit every opportunity they can to promote their attacks on our freedoms.

At every step, Pelosi and her minions push anti-gun legislation with the lie that each proposal will be the death knell to violent crime committed with firearms. Of course, we’ve all heard this mantra for decades. And for decades we’ve seen every anti-gun law that has passed fail to put a dent in crime, only to be followed by a new proposal that the gun-ban extremists insist will get the job done…this time.

Supporters of the Second Amendment have always known that gun control laws have a fatal flaw; criminals don’t obey the law. They ignore or circumvent the new laws just as readily as they ignore or circumvent the old ones. If they are willing to commit robbery, why would they not also be willing to commit armed robbery? If they are willing to commit assault, why would they not be willing to commit assault with a deadly weapon? And if they are willing to commit homicide, again, why would they not be willing to commit homicide using a firearm? One more law will not stop a violent criminal from being a violent criminal.

The people actually impacted by gun control laws are, of course, law-abiding gun owners, who were never part of the problem to begin with. They may not agree with anti-gun laws, but they tend to obey them while working to change them.

This doesn’t mean that there are no options for addressing violent crime. The secret, which isn’t really a secret, is to go after the actual offenders. One good example is Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN).

Started in 2001 under President George W. Bush, PSN is a collaborative effort, utilizing the resources of federal, state, and local law enforcement, prosecutors, and community leaders to target violent crime at the local level. Specific priorities are identified based on the local environment, and solutions are developed, with the primary objective of going after the most violent offenders and putting them in prison.

It should come as no surprise that the simple concept of getting violent criminals off the streets to keep them from committing violent crimes has proven to be a very effective tool for law enforcement. While violent crime in the US has been in a state of general decline since its peak in 1991, PSN programs have shown to accelerate declines. According to the United States Department of Justice, from 2000 to 2006, PSN program areas saw overall reductions in violent crime from 4%-20%, and specifically-targeted violent crimes were reduced by up to 42%. By comparison, locations where PSN was not implemented saw reductions, but of only 0.9%.

There is, of course, little evidence to indicate that gun control reduces violent crime, and plenty of evidence that indicates fewer restrictions on law-abiding gun owners leads to such reductions. But even if Speaker Pelosi and the House Democrats cannot be convinced of this, one would at least think they would support a proven law-enforcement program like PSN, which has clearly been shown to reduce the violent crime they claim to want to see reduced.

Then again, maybe not.

Last week, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies recommending de-funding PSN. Chaired by U.S. Representative José Serrano (D-N.Y.), the subcommittee’s recommendation seems to indicate a continuing trend by House Democrats to oppose President Donald Trump whenever possible.

The program, as previously stated, started under President George W. Bush and continued under President Barack Obama, even when Democrats controlled the House and Senate during Obama’s first term. So why is there an issue now?

It may simply be that Democrats are reflexively opposed to anything Trump supports, and the current administration has promoted the program. It would be a shocking abuse of power if Democrats actually chose to end a program that has been so successful at reducing violent crime simply out of spite for a president the party clearly loathes.

Fortunately, there are still many steps left in the process for approving the U.S. Department of Justice budget, through which PSN is funded, so we can only hope that cooler heads within the Democrat leadership will intercede and ensure PSN remains fully funded.

That is, if there are any cooler heads left.

Rebuilding Notre Dame: Form Is Not Fashion

James Matthew Wilson: It is not merely sentimental concern for historical preservation to insist that Notre Dame be restored just as it was.

As the world watched Notre Dame burn, everyone wondered what else was on fire.  Of what was the partial immolation of this, one of France’s finest Gothic cathedrals, a symbol?  The extinction of Christianity in Europe – or in that eldest daughter of the Church, the nation of Clovis?  Others wondered if it was not the flames but the smoke that mattered, that prophetic sign of warning, an indication to wake up, pay attention, extinguish the fire now, before it is too late. And to rebuild.

Now, Notre Dame stands, part of its vault collapsed, its walls, upright for centuries only by grace of the ingenious medieval system of distributing weight by vaults and buttresses, now vulnerable to collapse should a strong wind blow through Paris.  The French government pledges to rebuild it; the prosperous and institutions around the world pledge funds to that end.  Astonishingly, the small but devout remnant of Catholics in France, and many of their unobservant countrymen, turn out to pray and keep vigil over the fragile structure still stretching up in yearning and wonder to God.

Resurrection and rebirth may by the final meaning of an event so layered with signs as to live up to the hoary term of praise for Gothic churches: Gospels in stone.

As the classical architect Erik Bootsma warns, however, French President Emmanuel Macron, in haste to complete repairs within five years, has so far not consulted with those who know best the old cathedral and who could ensure that it is rebuilt to appear as it did before the fire.

Meanwhile, architects have rushed in with proposals that would, at best, result in a “respectful combination of the dominant old with the best of the new.”  Among the proposals are not simply modern but weirdly alien designs for a new spire, to replace the “forest” of the wooden roof with glass, or to turn it into an observation platform and garden.

All this has – quite rightly – raised fears that the French government will prove historically callous in supervising the reconstruction.

The French Catholic philosopher Jacques Maritain once observed that the medieval craftsmen repaired and rebuilt churches without regard to the style of their original construction.  He saw his contemporaries as mired in a sentimental attachment to old styles; they reproduced the antique in the form of kitsch rather than opening themselves up to modern genius and materials.

We must think analogously, insisted Maritain: if the Romanesque could be patched with the Gothic, the Gothic may be grafted with the modern.

We do not call something “sentimental” or “kitsch” unless we have already condemned it.  Maritain was probably correct to admonish his contemporaries to attend to new aesthetic possibilities if the alternative was to dig in their heels while an august tradition lapsed into decadence.

But his breezy exemplum– the medieval craftsman – is not without its irony and, finally, will not translate well to our present age.  For he was among the few modern minds to insist that aesthetic form is not merely a matter of historical fashion, and, further, he understood as well that at least some modern artistic practices found their inspiration not in the beauty of God but in an emptiness that was, at best, materialistic and, at worse, of the devil.

Let me offer a warning, then.  Maritain showed, by way of Aquinas, that beauty is rooted in form.  Every existent, natural being is a composite of form and matter.  Matter is purely passive and derived, but form is the active principle that causes things to be.  As Maritain writes, form is:

the principle which constitutes the proper perfection of all that is, which constitutes and achieves things in their essences and qualities, which is, finally, if one may so put it, the ontological secret that they bear within them, their spiritual being, their operating mystery – the form, indeed, is above all the proper principle of intelligibility, the proper clarity of every thing.  Besides, every form is a vestige of a ray of the creative Intelligence imprinted at the heart of created being.

Form is variously defined as the essence, nature, the intelligible and active principle of a being.  It is, therefore, both what causes a being to be this particular thing, but also signals that thing’s participation, as a creature, in the uncreated, creative and divine intelligence of God.  Through form things are, we know what things are, and we discern their relationship to other things and, finally, to the hand that made us.

The form of something, therefore, manifests at once its historicity – it is here, in time – and its trace of eternity – its origin lies in the mind of God.

Modern people tend to separate these traits categorically: some things are temporal and evanescent, while others are eternal and permanent; some things are products of their age, while others transcend them.

Alas, in Sacrosanctum Concilium (1963) and elsewhere, the Second Vatican Council suggested that the eternal deposit of divine truth could simply be poured into this or that form entirely shaped by the “signs of the times.”  No particular style of art or architecture, and no particular political form, in the Church’s eyes, is, as it were, final.

But form, properly understood, suggests something more complex.  The specific work of culture is to discern, over the long course of history, those forms that are condign, that is to say, most adequate to manifest the truth that transcends them.  Sensible beauty is not something separate from truth, but rather the historically discovered form found suitable to show forth in splendor what lies beyond all history.

Though Gothic architecture does not manifest the Christian vision of the sacred exclusively (every created form reflects the divine), it does manifest it more fully and fittingly than other forms.  It cannot, therefore, simply be set aside without rendering our architecture and our culture less articulate than before.

But there is more.  Much of modern architecture, with its brutalist contempt for the past and gleaming obsession with the future, manifests nothing so much as a denial that form bears within it anything but its meaningless temporality.  It claims to be not only the present fashion of the age, but a defiant gesture of negation regarding the transcendent, hence Philip Rieff’s characterization of it as a work of “anti-culture.”

It would not, therefore, be merely a concern for historical preservation or a sentimental attachment to the old to insist that Notre Dame be restored just as it was.  Rather, we who live are responsible for ensuring that the vocabulary man has found, through history, to speak the glory that lies beyond this world not – not yet – be silenced.

Texas again: Illegal Alien Admits to Brutal Murder as Grandmother Begged for her Life

When I launched this blog—Frauds and Crooks—I expected to be primarily writing about the vast amounts of fraud being perpetrated (mostly by new Americans) in our various welfare programs along with some odds and ends of other crime stories.

How many times in recent days have we heard about a handful of vulnerable children dying after being brought across our southern border illegally by parents or human traffickers over the last year or so?  I think the number is six, but reports are non-stop on CNN.However, I was not prepared for the number of stories I’m seeing involving violent crimes against vulnerable women.

Yet, I have still seen not one mention on CNN of the Kenyan Killer—Billy Chemirmir—an illegal alien who allegedly murdered 12 (more?) elderly Texas women for their jewelry.

Here is another dreadful story from, yes, Texas, about an illegal alien killing a 75-year-old woman in her home by stabbing her with several kitchen knives over a 40 minute period. Etta Nugent spent 40 minutes pleading for her life.

Do not open your doors to strangers!

From the Houston Chronicle (hat tip: Julia),

The man accused of stabbing an elderly woman to death in her Sharpstown home detailed the gruesome killing to police investigators, saying that he spent at least 40 minutes with her as she begged for her life, according to prosecutors.

Marco Cobos, 19, allegedly used multiple knives to stab Etta Nugent to death for about 40 minutes to an hour, according to the charging documents which prosecutors read aloud during his first appearance in court Wednesday morning.

The medical examiner reported finding more than 13 stab wounds on the 75-year-old woman’s body.

He has been charged with capital murder in Nugent’s death.

The Mexican national is being held at the Harris County Jail without bond and federal authorities have placed an immigration detainer on him.

Cobos, who also is homeless, had sought help from Nugent to fix his broken down Ford F-150, but she was unable to “because of her age,” police said.

The truck Cobos had been sleeping in had been reported stolen in Phoenix, Arizona, authorities said. Before the attack, neighbors said they saw Cobos and his vehicle parked outside Nugent’s home in the 8100 block of Neff Street.

Prosecutors said Cobos confessed to stabbing the woman around 10 p.m. Sunday.

“The family of Etta Nugent is heartbroken and in absolute shock at the senseless tragedy that unfolded before them this week,” relatives to the slain woman said in a statement. “Etta was a kind, gentle and generous woman who lived her life with unwavering dedication to her faith, family and friends.”

“To see her life end in such a tragic, evil matter is simply unexplainable,” the statement continued.

Nugent, a mother of three and grandmother to six, was a retired parish secretary at Holy Ghost Catholic Church and attended St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.

A son’s worst nightmare….

Nugent’s son found her dead in the living room after she failed to answer her phone or visit her husband Monday morning at a convalescent care facility.

[….]

During an interview, police said he confessed to forcing his way into the home. He forced his way into the home as Nugent spoke to him through a crack in the door. He stabbed her in the chest and went to the kitchen to find more knives, according to prosecutors.

He heard the doorbell ring and saw Nugent on the front porch trying to escape. Cobos said he went outside and grabbed her in a “bear hug.” He got more knives from the kitchen and continued stabbing her until she died.

More details here.

This story is from Wednesday, I’ll be watching to see how long it takes to make national news!  CNNMSNBCWashington PostNew York Times?

But I won’t hold my breath! The mainstream media is too busy reporting on the vulnerable ‘children’ coming across our southern border (‘children’ like Cobos himself!).

Decoration Day, A Day of Remembrance

“The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.” – Douglas MacArthur

“Americans never quit.” – Douglas MacArthur

“I am concerned for the security of our great Nation; not so much because of any threat from without, but because of the insidious forces working from within.” – Douglas MacArthur

There are only two holidays a year that bring me to tears.  The first is Decoration Day (now Memorial Day) and the second is Independence Day, July 4th.  In 2011, I wrote an article entitled Real Americans.  I told of the loss and heartbreak I felt when I saw the flags waving and heard the firecrackers.  The loss of what we once had and what we have become was overwhelming.  I regained hope with the election of President Donald J. Trump, but I still fear for my nation.

Commemoration to Soldiers

Decoration Day started with a commemoration to the fallen Union soldiers of the Civil War.  In the South, southern ladies’ groups commemorated the fallen soldiers on different days than the holiday of the north.  However, by the 20th century, all American soldiers who had fallen in war were remembered on the last Monday in May, originally May 30th.

Decoration Day meant placing flowers on the graves of the fallen, but soon became a memorial for all family members who had passed.  Those who know the real meaning of the holiday visit the cemeteries not only to decorate the graves of fallen American soldiers, those who served our country, but also to remember our deceased ancestors.

Decoration Day was officially changed to Memorial Day by Federal law in 1967.  On June 28, 1968, the Congress passed the Uniform Holidays Bill, which moved four holidays, including Memorial Day, from their traditional dates to a specified Monday in order to create a convenient three-day weekend. The change moved Memorial Day from its traditional May 30th date to the last Monday in May. The law took effect at the federal level in 1971.

This has no doubt changed the tenor of the Remembrance Day into one of a spring-into-summer three-day weekend holiday, which has caused the solemn honor of the original commemoration to be lost.  Japanese Nisei, Daniel Inouye, Hawaii’s former Senator, and a WWII veteran had tried every year to return the holiday to May 30th.

Today, this holiday of commemoration has become one of barbecues, picnics, baseball and swimming.  It no longer is a day of solemn remembrance of our nation’s loss.  When I think of all those who have served, I remember those in my own dear family.

Memorials

The Memorial Day flag is to be raised briskly to the top of the pole at dawn and then lowered to half-mast until noon.  This is done in remembrance.  At noon, the flag is again raised to the top of the pole for the remainder of the day.

My maternal grandfather served in the Army as a cook in WWI.  His two sons, my mother’s older and younger brothers, my uncles, both served in WWII in Europe and in Germany respectively.  I remember my Uncle Bob telling me about how he hitchhiked across Czechoslovakia to see his cousin, Norm, who was also in the Army.  Uncle Bob was a medic and he would never talk about his service in WWII.

My paternal grandfather graduated from the Presidio (officer’s training) in 1917 with the Army Cavalry. I still have the humorously written program for his graduation dinner.  His degrees were in international law and French.  He married my grandmother that same year and went off to war.  His older brother, James, was also a soldier in WWI.  In a nine-page typewritten letter my great-grandfather, who was a Baptist preacher and physician, wrote to the church he founded in Bozeman, Montana, he mentioned how his wife worried and prayed for her two sons in France.  Here is a photo of my grandfather on his beloved horse, O’Hara.

My paternal grandfather remained in the military for many years.  I obtained his military records through my former congressman.  He was retired prior to WWII, but after Pearl Harbor and at the age of 50, he re-enlisted.  He was in charge of a German prisoner-of-war camp for a year or so.  The photos of this camp and the inmates look as though it was a great holiday for the Germans.  These original photos were at my friend, Harry Mazal’s Holocaust Library in San Antonio, Texas, but after Harry’s death, the University of Colorado Jewish Studies bought the library.  At the close of WWII, my grandfather, Colonel George Byron Morse, was in charge of the MPs at Nuremburg.  His Army Cavalry uniform and his boots are also in Colorado along with documents and photos.  Here is a photo of my dear friend Harry in his beloved library.  My library is filled with books that Harry sent me that no one else could get.

The Nisei

After the war, my paternal grandparents were very concerned about the second-generation Japanese Americans who fought on our side during WWII, the Nisei.  My grandmother, Stella Dolan Morse, was the inspiration for a veteran’s hall for them and the Nisei Veterans’ Memorial Hall was born.  My grandfather brought it to fruition and his picture still hangs prominently in their veteran organization.

The 100th/442nd Regimental Combat Team, composed of approximately 14,000 Japanese American soldiers, became the most decorated unit for its size and length of service in American history. Among their many awards, they earned eight Presidential Citations, over 9,000 Purple Hearts, and 21 Medals of Honor.

The 100th/442nd fought many battles. One of the most historic was the Rescue of the Lost Battalion in October 1944, when the unit led a heroic drive through German lines in the Vosges Mountains to rescue 211 surviving soldiers of the 36th Texas Division. For this the governor of Texas named the Nisei soldiers “Honorary Texans.”

In 1945, the courageous actions of the 100th/442nd were critical in breaking the German Gothic Line. They fought the Germans through intense combat and liberated towns such as Bruyeres, Biffontaine, and Belvedere. They also helped free Holocaust victims from Dachau concentration camp.

Approximately 6,000 Japanese Americans served in the Pacific Theater in the Military Intelligence Service (MIS) of the US Army. These soldiers utilized their knowledge of the Japanese language and culture to defeat the Japanese military in the Pacific. General Douglas MacArthur’s intelligence chief, Major General Charles A. Willoughby, estimated that these contributions shortened the war by at least two years and saved countless lives in the process. For this, the MIS was awarded a Presidential Unit Citation.

When my retired, aging, California grandparents needed assistance, the Japanese were there to help them in every way.  At their funeral masses, the priests were both Japanese.  The eulogies from these brave Nisei are simply beautiful and showed what great love these Japanese American war heroes had for my paternal grandparents.

The Presidio Today

The Presidio today is nothing like what my grandfather would envision.  Congress voted in 1989 to end the Presidio’s status as an active military installation and on October 1, 1994, it was transferred to the National Park Service, ending 219 years of military use and beginning its next phase of mixed commercial and public use.  Sadly, that use is now part and parcel of the UN Agenda 21 program of destroying national sovereignty and our liberties.  In 1996, the United States Congress created the Presidio Trust to oversee and manage the interior 80% of the park’s lands, with the National Park Service managing the coastal 20%.

In 1993, the Gorbachev Foundation USA was invited to sink roots at the Presidio as part of the post’s conversion from the headquarters of the 6th U.S. Army to a national park.

From the website, Mikhail Gorbachev, Creatively Marketing Global Communism, comes this statement regarding Gorbachev’s State of the World Forum, “Former Soviet Communist Party boss Mikhail Gorbachev, founder of the State of the World Forum six years ago, used a $5,000 per person gathering of the world’s political and business elite to plea for the United Nations to adopt a Soviet-style “central authority” to manage the world’s business and environmental concerns.”

And this,

“The collapse of the Soviet Union as presented in the western media was a fraud. The Soviet Union didn’t collapse and communism didn’t die. They just reorganized, and we see it today in our American Congress. This is Gorby’s goal for the United States…and that’s what the UN program of regionalization is about. The movement is to dissolve the United States as a nation and then to break it up into areas of regional governance under an unelected continental government similar to the European Union.”

If my grandparents on both sides, who fought in WWI and WWII for American freedoms knew of Gorbachev’s group in the Presidio, they would roll over in their graves.  They would never have believed it would happen, nor would they ever have believed we’d be fighting undeclared wars and passing unconstitutional laws.  Think about Obamacare, The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and the Patriot Act, to name just a few of the hundreds of thousands of illegal and unconstitutional laws, acts, and executive orders.  My mother would never have believed it, much less my grandparents.  In fact, my grandparents never even heard of a “Trillion-dollar debt,” which is now as high as $22 trillion.

Undeclared Wars

To say it more succinctly, here is a letter my dear friend Ruth wrote in comment of the article, The Price of Freedom, “This Memorial Day, I mourn the lives of the tens of thousands of our troops, who are maimed and disfigured. I mourn the lives of the troops still stuck in the hell holes of Afghanistan and Iraq and those engaged all around the world in illegal interventions and wars of aggression, greed and empire building. I grieve for the returning veterans, whose minds are so broken, upon contemplating the horrors they have witnessed and the true nature of these wars, they are committing suicide in shocking numbers. Those who gave all, may be the lucky ones.

Unfortunately, these brave young men and women are not fighting for our freedom; they know it, and you know it. They are fighting to stay alive. They are mere pawns of the Military Industrial Complex. We need to follow what President Trump said, and bring all of them home now.”

This is what President Trump said he wanted to do, and it is why when he said the troops in Syria were to come home, General Mattis signed the order, but then resigned from the Trump administration.  We have an enemy on our soil, and we are not fighting that enemy.

We need those soldiers not just on our southern border, but we need them educated by men like General Michael T. Flynn who knows how we can win the global war against radical Islam and its allies.  Former FBI Agent, John Guandolo of Understanding the Threat is an amazing resource who can help us save our country from infiltration and destruction.

Conclusion

I grieve for my nation, for her soul, and for her people who are too busy watching Dancing with the Stars and American Idol to see what has happened to our beloved country and who daily fail to fight to keep the freedoms our founders gave us.

I grieve because we’ve thrown God out of every facet of American society.  I grieve because we think nothing of murdering 60 million babies in their mothers’ wombs.  I grieve because I see the losses.  I grieve because I know too much, and I grieve because so few are fighting to save her…our once great America and her God-given freedoms.  I grieve, I mourn, and I weep and I’m still fighting to save her.  Unless more Americans stand up for truth, righteousness, liberty and freedom, I’m afraid all is lost.  Dear God in heaven, I grieve, and I keep working and praying.

This Decoration Day, remember all those who gave everything, remember those who came home hurt both physically and mentally, remember all our veterans, and help them, not just with prayers, but with funds that care for these men and women who have served our country willingly.  There are countless wonderful organizations that help our soldiers…give to them, and in so doing, you give to those who need it the most.

Remember those who gave all…please!

‘We’re the Ones Yelling Stop’: How These Conservatives Are Fighting Corporations’ Liberal Tilt

By supporting a nonprofit that favors rationing health care, biotech giant Johnson & Johnson appears to violate its founding principles, a conservative shareholder activist says.

The activist brought this contradiction to the attention of the corporation’s CEO at a shareholder meeting last month, in what he hopes will become a model practice for other conservatives.

Conservatives can be effective in challenging liberals’ efforts to move major corporations to the left if they simply acquire some stock and speak up with facts, David Almasi, vice president of the National Center for Public Policy Research, said in a phone interview with The Daily Signal.

In recent weeks, Almasi and fellow activists also politely confronted executives of four other major U.S. corporations—AT&T, Bank of America, Amazon, and Twitter—at shareholder meetings.

“Often these days, corporate America has become a muscle and piggy bank for the left,” Almasi told The Daily Signal. “Sometimes executives do this for reasons of public relations, but in most cases, they are not helping consumers or their investors.”

“We’re the ones yelling stop during these meetings and asking them to think about what they are doing and to ask themselves if they are giving a fiduciary benefit to their investors and customers.”

In the past four years, the Free Enterprise Project of the National Center for Public Policy Research, a conservative think tank based in Washington, has made its voice heard in more than 100 shareholder meetings.

Amazon and Twitter, in separate shareholder meetings, this week rejected the Free Enterprise Project’s formal proposal that their boards reflect “true diversity.”

The full text of the proposal, on page 33 of Amazon’s proxy statement, specifies “ideological diversity” on the board as well as diversity based on race and gender.

Twitter rejected the idea Monday and Amazon did so Wednesday. The same diversity proposal is up for consideration at Facebook’s May 30 shareholder meeting and at Salesforce’s June 6 meeting.

“We believe that boards that incorporate diverse perspectives can think more critically and oversee corporate managers more effectively,” the Free Enterprise Project said in a statement supporting the proposal.

Prepared remarks at the Twitter and Amazon meetings by Justin Danhof, director of the Free Enterprise Project, are available here.

Amazon defended current policy in a statement recommending that shareholders vote down the proposal:

Diversity is a cornerstone of our continued success, and we are proud of the diversity of experience and perspectives represented by our directors and our employees. … Our Board composition reflects the robust nominating processes that we already have in place, which address much of what this proposal requests.

A Twitter spokesman, responding to Danhof’s remarks, said during the meeting:

For the reasons detailed in … our proxy statement, our board of directors believes that this proposal is not in the best interests of Twitter or our stockholders and recommends a vote against this proposal.

Questioning Johnson & Johnson’s CEO

Initiated in 2007, the Free Enterprise Project aims to advance free market ideals in corporate America on subjects including health care, energy, taxes, subsidies, regulations, religious freedom, food policies, media bias, gun rights, and workers’ rights

Almasi showed up for Johnson & Johnson’s shareholder meeting April 25 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where the multinational medical device, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods company is headquartered.

During a question-and-answer session, Almasi asked CEO Alex Gorsky whether the company’s support for a Boston-based nonprofit, the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review, aligned with values expressed in the Johnson & Johnson credo.

Because the institute is “working to replicate” Great Britain’s health care rationing plan in the U.S., it puts Americans at risk of being placed on waiting lists to receive vital services or being denied access to certain drugs, Almasi warned Gorsky and other company officials.

“Johnson & Johnson has a fairly large meeting, and they really put on a show and run commercials and talk about profits and losses, and they are very open to investors,” Almasi told The Daily Signal. “I raised the fact that they started a relationship with a group that supports health care rationing.”

Robert Wood Johnson, the company’s former chairman and part of its founding family, drew up the Johnson & Johnson credo in 1943 to set the tone for its values and business practices.

The credo states, in part, that Johnson & Johnson’s “first responsibility is to the patients, doctors and nurses, to mothers and fathers and all others who use our products and services … We are responsible to the communities in which we live and work and to the world community as well. We must help people be healthier by supporting better access and care in more places around the world.”

The credo also says the company’s “final responsibility” is to shareholders, and that the business must turn a profit.

“What I said [to Johnson & Johnson’s Gorsky] is that you are part of a group and are giving money to a group that doesn’t want the patient to come first and instead wants a policy of health care rationing,” Almasi recalled in the interview.

“So, I brought this up and the CEO said he wasn’t aware of it, and I’ll take him at his word. But after the meeting, I had a discussion with [Johnson & Johnson’s] government affairs head, and we’re supposed to have another meeting in the next few weeks.”

Rationing Care, Denying Drugs

Almasi’s statement during the shareholder meeting, available here, ends with his asking Gorsky whether he could explain “how funding ICER benefits Johnson & Johnson, and whether this funding fits within the company’s credo.”

The Institute for Clinical and Economic Review describes itself as an organization “that objectively evaluates the clinical and economic value of prescription drugs, medical tests, and other health care and health care delivery innovations.”

Steven Pearson, the institute’s founder and president, previously was a senior visiting fellow with Great Britain’s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, a government agency.

Almasi told Johnson & Johnson’s Gorsky that guidelines set by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence were responsible for putting British citizens on waiting lists to receive health care.

“A lot of companies join groups because they want a seat at the table,” Almasi told The Daily Signal, and in the case of Johnson & Johnson he’d like to see the company “advance their credo” and oppose “the rationing of American health care.”

In the interview, Almasi also expressed concern that the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review’s partnership with the CVS retail pharmacy chain could result in denying prescription drugs to needy Americans based on highly subjective “quality of life” calculations.

Drug industry reporter Ed Silverman wrote in August that CVS set a “threshold of $100,000 per QALY, or quality-of-life years, a benchmark that measures both the quantity and quality of life generated by providing a treatment or some other health care intervention.”

In practice, this means the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review can call the shots on whether a CVS customer receives certain prescription drugs, Almasi warns.

“So, essentially this is like setting up an Obamacare death panel in the private sector,” he said. “We pointed this out to Johnson & Johnson, and we were able to do this by just by owning a couple of shares of stock and going into the room and asking questions. Now Gorsky may reevaluate the company’s relationship with ICER.”

How Those Questioned Respond

Johnson & Johnson did not respond to The Daily Signal’s request for comment as of publication time.

However, David Whitrap, vice president of communications and outreach for the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review, provided a statement countering the criticism.

“ICER’s mission is to help all Americans gain affordable access to high-value health care. Period. And we believe the best way to achieve this mission is to strive toward a system that achieves fair pricing of prescription drugs, fair access for patients, and financial incentives for future pharmaceutical innovation,” Whitrap said, adding:

We don’t determine a drug’s price, nor do we determine whether or not it should be covered by an insurance company, but we do provide a detailed, public and transparent assessment of new therapies so that all stakeholders—pharmaceutical companies, payers, patients, and physicians—can be better informed when they’re making critical decisions around the time of FDA [Food and Drug Administration] approval.

Michael DeAngelis, a senior director in corporate communications for CVS Health, told The Daily Signal in an email that the corporation is committed to “develop innovative tools” for clients of its pharmacy benefits manager, CVS Caremark, who he said include large employers, health plans, and unions.

Those tools, DeAngelis said, include plan designs “that will connect price, value, and coverage” and “help to influence manufacturer pricing on new drug launches.” He added of the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review’s role:

ICER is a well-respected, independent organization which utilizes a rigorous process to assess the value of drugs, including convening regional independent appraisal committees for public hearings on each report and publishing a final evidence report. These benefit design options for our PBM [primary benefits manager] clients are not discriminatory and, in fact, improve the chances that patients with disabilities and serious illness will be able to get the treatments they need at a price they and the health system can afford.

‘Muscle and Piggy Bank for the Left’

The Free Enterprise Project’s presence at shareholder meetings doesn’t mean that conservatives have leveled the playing field with liberal counterparts who have a longer history of shareholder activism, Almasi cautions.

He would like to see many more shareholders with stakes in the free market system become organized and aware of the influence they can exert.

“Often these days, corporate America has become a muscle and piggy bank for the left,” Almasi said, adding:

Sometimes executives do this for reasons of public relations, but in most cases, they are not helping consumers or their investors. We’re the ones yelling ‘Stop’ during these meetings and asking them to think about what they are doing and to ask themselves if they are giving a fiduciary benefit to their investors and customers.

The more active we can be, the more effective we can be. We need more conservatives to be on board.

What the Free Enterprise Project has been able to achieve in recent weeks on limited resources suggests that the field is wide open for conservatives to become shareholder activists, Almasi told The Daily Signal.

In some instances, corporate leaders may not be aware of practices that are offensive to some shareholders and potentially counterproductive to their financial goals, he said.

Bank of America and Planned Parenthood

In another example, the Free Enterprise Project’s Danhof spoke up about Bank of America’s support for Planned Parenthood during a April 24 shareholder meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Danhof made use of research by 2ndVote, a conservative watchdog for corporate activism. Users of its online app, available on Google Play and Apple’s iTunes, have access to hundreds of corporate profiles.

During the meeting, Danhof provided Bank of America executives with documentation from 2ndVote showing the bank had been a consistent sponsor of Planned Parenthood’s annual gala in New York City.

This matters because Bank of America long had said it supports Planned Parenthood only through an employee matching-grant program. But 2ndVote’s research, available here, shows otherwise.

Danhof questioned Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan about the bank’s relationship with Planned Parenthood, and the audio of the back and forth is available in an online press release.

Danhof called on the bank to “correct the record” and publicly acknowledge it donates directly to Planned Parenthood.

Neither Bank of America nor the Planned Parenthood Federation of America responded by publication time to The Daily Signal’s requests for comment.

“We’ve had a great partnership with 2ndVote because they’re interested in the same corporate activism we are,” Almasi said. “They’re doing some great research, and they are going to the grassroots and getting information out there through scores and tweets.”

“When we went to Bank of America, we went with the information they found,” he said of 2ndVote. “This is a great example of how groups on the right are working together to get information out there.”

Connecting With AT&T

During AT&T’s shareholder meeting April 26 in Dallas, Texas, CEO Randall Stephenson told Danhof that he didn’t know employees in AT&T’s digital advertising department were blocking conservatives from accessing certain online platforms.

Their discussion centered on AT&T’s 2018 acquisition of AppNexus, a major online advertising platform with a history of excluding conservatives, according to a press release from the National Center for Public Policy Research.

AppNexus had not discontinued that practice, Danhof told AT&T’s Stephenson. In the press release, he said he expects Stephenson to “move decisively” to end any efforts at AT&T to muzzle conservatives.

The Daily Signal sought comment from AT&T, which responded through its advertising company, Xandr.

“Xandr regularly reviews the policies that govern our platform to ensure we are creating a safe advertising ecosystem for publishers, advertisers, and consumers,” a spokesperson said in an email. “Political ideology is not a category we consider in the course of content elimination decisions.”

IT’S BA-A-ACK! TWA 800: From Mehrabad to Montoursville with love?

On 20 May 2019 President Donald Trump held a rally in the tiny Pennsylvania town of Montoursville.  This raises the obvious question of . . . why?  Trump is famous for basking in the adoration of huge crowds of 20,000-30,000 for his rallies.  Montoursville has a total population of 5,000.

In the special election held the following day, Republican Fred Keller won by a comfortable 2-1 margin.  He obviously did not need Trump’s help.  Besides, there are many other towns in Pennsylvania’s 12th district larger than Montoursville, including the well-known Williamsport.  But Trump choose Montoursville.  Why?

Could TWA 800 have had anything to do with it?

On 17 July 1996, 16 French-club students from Montoursville High School and five of their chaperones boarded the Boeing 747-131 for the TWA 800’s transatlantic flight destined for Paris and Rome. Twelve minutes later the plane exploded apart over the Atlantic ocean at nearly 14,000 feet, just off East Moriches on Long Island.  In all, there were 230 passengers, four pilots, and 14 flight attendants on board.  There were no survivors.

After four years of salvage, recovery and investigations, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) determined that the cause of the crash was a “defect” in the insulation around certain unspecified wires which allowed a “short” in those wires to ignite the “vapors” in the empty fuel tank causing the whole plane to explode.

Case closed, right?

Then why did Trump choose to hold a rally in tiny Montoursville, instead of the much larger nearby Williamsport–and in a district in which the Republican candidate was going to win hands down anyway?

Could it be because virtually no one on this planet believes the “official” explanation of what happened–including some of the investigators themselves?

Here is why so many people believe that the “official” explanation was a “cover-up” by the Clinton administration and the “Deep State” so the American public wouldn’t panic during the last few months before a presidential election:

An air traffic controller at NY TRACON allegedly claims that radar “indicated vertical movement intersecting TWA 800,” and then TWA 800 disappeared from the radar screen.  Numerous eye witnesses claim to have seen a “streak of light,” or “vapor trails” ascending from the ocean towards the plane, striking the plane, and then the plane exploded.  Two weeks later the FBI allowed the New York Times to interview only one of the 144 (at that time) witnesses, and he was one who only saw it “out of the corner of his eye.”  The NTSB eventually identified 258 eyewitnesses who had allegedly seen a glowing object streaking towards the aircraft.  At least 58 had followed the object from the horizon (i.e. from the ocean).  The NYT interviewed none of those 258.

Here is another interesting factoid.  The deputy Attorney General who oversaw the investigation, Jamie Gorelilck, left the Justice Department in 1997 to take a job with Fannie Mae, the government-run home loan outfit.  She would make more than $25 million dollars over the next six years.  A government worker would be lucky to make 1/20 of that amount in six years.  She also turned up in 2004 as the primary author of the highly flawed 9/11 report.

Interesting?

Trump’s visit to tiny Montoursville, Pennsylvania has brought all of the old conspiracy theories back out of the closet.

There have been theories galore:  Everything from an exploding meteorite coming apart just at the right time and place to intercept the aircraft, to a U.S. Navy training exercise gone awry, to a bomb placed on board, to an al-Qaeda strike as a prelude for 9/11.

But there is one rather obvious explanation that no one has mentioned yet–at least not on this side of the Atlantic–not during the original investigation two decades ago, and not now.

THE IRANIAN CONNECTION

On 03 July 1988 an Iran Air Airbus A300, flight #655 took off from Iran’s Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran, Iran.  It stopped at Bandar Abbas International airport in Bandar Abbas, Iran to pick up more passengers before taking off again for its destination of Dubai International Airport on the other side of the Persian/Arab Gulf.

Personnel aboard the USS Vincennes operating in the area thought that the Iranian airliner was a military aircraft on a hostile mission (or so the official explanation goes), so they shot it down.  274 civilian passengers and 16 crew members all lost their lives that day.

When TWA was brought down eight years later, most everybody in the Middle East automatically assumed that it was retaliation for Iran Air flight #655.  That possibility was never entertained on this side of the Atlantic.  After all, if it indeed was a missile, the most likely weapon was a Stinger missile which can be fired by a single person holding a hand-held launching device, and which was designed to bring down aircraft at up to 15,700 feet, and everyone just “knew” that Iran did not possess Singer missiles–even though we had donated thousands of them to al-Qaeda’s MKK precursor in Afghanistan during their war against the Soviets in the 80s.

But, no way Iran could have Stinger missiles and be responsible for TWA 800, right?

So, why did Trump decide to visit tiny Montoursville now?

Could it have anything to do with the increasing tensions between Iran and the U.S.?  The war drums that are beating in both capitals?  Could it be that as tensions rise, more evidence keeps spilling into the public domain about Iranian cooperation with al-Qaeda and complicity in 9/11 (meaning that Iran likely had all the Singer Missiles it wanted by the mid-1990s), and Trump is building a case for war against Iran?

Or, could Trump only be sending a message for entirely domestic reasons?

  • Michael E. Horowitz, the current Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Justice (of which the FBI is a part) is currently conducting investigations into DOJ and FBI “improper actions” regarding the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal and the FISA abuses which led to the Mueller investigation of Trump.
  • John W. Huber, the U.S. Attorney for the district of Utah, is also reportedly still conducting an investigation into broader “Deep State” abuses involved with the Trump dossier, alleged “spying” on the Trump campaign, etc., and is allegedly coordinating his efforts with Inspector General Horowitz.  Their report is expected to be released soon.
  • Republican Senator Lindsay Graham has been leading a Senate investigation into alleged “Deep State” abuses regarding all of these issues.
  • Current U.S. Attorney General, William Barr, has recently announced that he has assigned a “team” to investigate CIA and FBI “Counter Intelligence spying” on the Trump campaign.
  • Trump has long been threatening to release the FISA warrant applications which allegedly would show fraud on the part of a number of FBI and DOJ officials.  Rumors have it that this will be done soon.

So, could Trump’s visit to Montoursville be a message that investigations into “Deep State” corruption and cover-ups are reaching clear back into the 1990s?

Above, we mentioned a Jamie Gorelick, who oversaw the grossly flawed TWA 800 investigation, and was the primary author of the flawed 9/11 commission report of 2004.

The head of the CIA during the time of the investigation of the TWA 800 take down, having been appointed in 1997, was Clinton dandy George Tenet.

Guess who was the head of the CIA when 9/11 happened?  That’s right, George Tenet.

This is important because the upper echelons of the CIA had more than ample evidence in the weeks leading up to 9/11 that al-Qaeda was going to attack sites in Washington and New York City in early September (actually one piece of evidence even pinpointed the date).  All that evidence was discounted because much of it entailed Iranian cooperation with al-Qaeda, and the upper echelons of the CIA refused to believe that Shi’a Iran and Sunni al-Qaeda could ever have anything to do with each other.

Guess who Tenet’s right-hand man for Counter Terrorism and Middle East issues was?

Clinton Crony John Brennan.

Yes, the same John Brennan who spearheaded (along with Robert Mueller) efforts to abolish all training materials and delete all data bases where any connection was made between any sort of “Islam,” (even “radical Islam), and any sort of “jihad,” including terrorism.  These actions were taken at the behest of entities which are part of the terrorist organization Muslim Brotherhood’s tentacles in the United States–yes that Muslim Brotherhood which is a declared enemy of the United States, thus making Brennan’s and Mueller’s actions a clear case of treason according to Article III section 3 of the U.S. Constitution.

Their treasonous actions by the way, led to the deaths of more Americans than did the downing of TWA 800.

So, now, as these investigations into “Deep State” misbehaviors, frauds, and crimes (up to and including treason) are intensifying, increasing numbers of fingers are being pointed to the likely instigator and ringmaster for all of the efforts against the Trump campaign and Trump personally.  And, guess who this ringmaster is turning out to be?

John Brennan.

Interesting, no?

For those of us who are spectators of the blood sport of full contact politics, and who get goose bumps of joy from watching “paybacks” . . . fasten your seat belts.  (Not that Trump every enjoys punching back at his attackers).  I have a very sneaky feeling that Trump’s rally in little Montoursville last Monday was a signal that the fun is about to begin.  Or so we can hope.
