Professor Suspended After Writing That Killing ‘Right-Wing’ Speakers Is ‘Admirable’

A Wayne State University (WSU) professor was suspended with pay after writing on Facebook that it is more “admirable” to kill a right-wing speaker than it is to shout them down on a college campus, The New Guard reported.

Steven Shaviro, a College of Liberal Arts and Sciences professor, wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday that while he does not “advocating violating federal and state criminal codes,” it is “far more admirable to kill a racist, homophobic, or transphobic speaker than it is to shout them down,” according to the New Guard. The professor was reportedly placed on leave and the incident was reported to law enforcement agencies for review.

“When right-wing groups invite such speakers to campus, it is precisely because they want to provoke an incident that discredits the left, and gives more publicity and validation to these reprehensible views than they could otherwise attain,” Shaviro wrote, according to a screenshot of the new deleted post. “These protesters get blamed instead of the bigoted speaker; the university administration finds a perfect excuse to side publicly with the racist or phobes; the national and international press has a field day saying that bigots are the ones being oppressed, rather than the people those bigots actually hate being the victims of oppression.”

He cited the assassination of Ukrainian People’s Republic Simon Petlirua, who was assassinated in 1926 by Scholem Schwarzbard out of revenge for the deaths of thousands of Jewish people, according to Open Democracy.

“Remember that Schwarzbard was acquitted by a jury, which found his actions justified,” Shaviro wrote, according to the screenshot.

WSU President Roy Wilson responded to the post in a Monday email to the campus community condemning Shaviro’s language, according to a screenshot obtained by the New Guard.

“The post stated that rather than ‘shouting down’ those with whom we disagree, one would be justified to commit murder to silence them,” he wrote. “We have on many occasions defended the right of free speech guaranteed by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, but we feel this post far exceeds the bounds of reasonable or protected speech. It is, at best, morally reprehensible and, at worst, criminal.”

WSU and Shaviro did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Raining on Medicaid Expansion’s Parade

North Carolina is becoming the 40th state to adopt Medicaid expansion with Republicans putting it over the top like they did in Virginia.  Medicaid expansion is the government health program for childless able-bodied adults making up to 38 percent more than the federal poverty level.  It’s how the Democrats claim so many more people have health insurance than before Obamacare, except Medicaid isn’t insurance – it’s welfare, more free stuff from the government.

Republican lawmakers in North Carolina resisted expansion for years but, apparently, an extra $1.75 billion in federal COVID money on top of the federal government covering most of the costs anyway made expansion irresistible.

Some bad things are going to happen in North Carolina because of Medicaid expansion.  First, it is foreseeable the projected enrollment will far exceed the 600,000 estimate.  In Virginia, for example, expansion advocates promised enrollment would never go over 400,000 but, currently, over 733,000 adults are enrolled.  Before COVID, enrollment in Medicaid expansion was 110 percent over projections nationwide – more than double what was expected.

Second, many states are finding their budgets under significant pressure from unexpectedly high Medicaid expansion costs.  The percentage of the state budget spent on Medicaid goes up and, sometimes, other programs have to be cut.  That’s what happens when you push welfare into the middle class above the poverty line; it gets a lot more expensive.

Third, the hospital lobby in North Carolina called expansion “an immediate shot in the arm” for struggling rural hospitals in the state.  But expansion is not likely to save them.  A recent study concluded:  “Instead of keeping hospitals open, hospitals in expansion states have closed their doors. Instead of creating hospital jobs, thousands of hospital jobs have been cut in expansion states. And instead of saving money, hospital losses are piling up following expansion.”  Medicaid expansion is clearly not the financial salvation supporters make it out to be.

Fourth, Medicaid expansion crowds out care for low-income and disabled children.  Another recent study found “per capita Medicaid spending growth on children in expansion states was less than one-third what it was in nonexpansion states….”  Why?  Because the needs of childless able-bodied adults have been given priority over the needs of such children.

I’ve just scratched the surface.  Other problems with Medicaid expansion include: state tax hikes to fund expansion, less access to healthcare when people move off private insurance and on to Medicaid which has fewer providers, and increasing dependency on government which is always the wrong way to go.

Today, about one in five Americans is on Medicaid.  Some will come off the rolls after extra federal COVID money ends but, as I mentioned earlier, Medicaid expansion enrollment had already ballooned before anyone had ever heard of COVID.  Even so, the day is coming – although it is still far off – when everyone realizes Medicaid expansion was another Democrat – and now Republican – pipedream full of wishful thinking.  It’s clearly not sustainable.  It’s easy to make a political career out of spending other people’s money.  But what will lawmakers posing for congratulatory photo ops today say to people when the parade marches into a ditch tomorrow?

Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater in his book “The Conscience of a Conservative“ wrote:

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or that have failed their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is “needed” before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents’ “interests,” I shall reply that I was informed that their main interest is liberty and that in that cause I am doing the very best I can.”

Today we have two parties, patriots and traitors.

The traitors want more government and more government control. The traitors want to pass more and more laws that infringe on we the peoples’ rights to life, liberty and property. The traitors are anti-Constitutionalists and anti-American. Traitors are anti-Faith, anti-Family and anti-Freedom. Traitors subsidize failure.

The patriots want less government control. Patriots seek smaller government at every level that protects their God given rights to life, liberty and property. Patriots want fewer laws and more freedom. Patriots are pro-Faith, pro-Family and pro-Freedom. Patriots subsidize success.

Patriots believe that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice and moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.

Angry American Patriots

Patriots are law abiding people. Patriots are slow to anger but once they become angry Katie bar the door.

Traitors are now criminalizing patriotism, love of country, parenthood, the right to keep and bear arms and those who speak truth to power. Traitors are now using every government agency to criminalize patriots from the school house to the White House.

American patriots are now considered the enemies of the rich and powerful in the current regime.

American patriots are saying “enough is enough.”

American patriots believe in one man/woman one vote.

What patriots have seen in the last two elections are the exact opposite.

During the November 2020 presidential and the 2022 mid-term elections various news outlets and organizations have exposed techniques used to steal the election including: Dirty Voter Rolls, Mail-in-Ballots, Mules, Ballot Harvesting, Ranked Choice Voting, [S]election Code, Electronic Voting Machines, Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC), Campaign Finance Mules, Growing Influence of Non-Profits in U.S. Elections, Foreign Actors in U.S. Elections, The Legacy Media, Social Media, FBI, CIA, DoD, Et al. Election Propaganda Machine.

The evidence has proven that it only took five counties in five state to flip the 2020 presidential election and one county to flip the Arizona governor’s election.

The 2024 Presidential Election

The Challenge:

  1. The Republican Party peak in popularity took place nearly 40 years ago as Ronald Reagan carried the popular vote by a roughly 16-million vote margin over his Democrat opponent in the 1984 Presidential Election.
  2. In 2020, the Republican popular presidential vote loss was by roughly 7 million votes.
  3. The popular Republican presidential vote margin loss between 1984 and 2020 was roughly 23 million votes, an average loss of roughly 2.5 million votes every presidential election cycle.
  4. These negative Republican vote trends are continuing.

The Bottom Line:

The 2024 Republican presidential candidate will need to overcome a popular vote deficit approaching 10 million votes to win the 2024 election.

Every state in the union must implement “The Florida Model” by:

  1. Banning Mass Mail-in-Ballots
  2. Banning Ballot Harvesting
  3. Requiring Voter IDs
  4. Create an Election Police Force
  5. Withdrawing from ERIC.

If the traitors steal the 2024 election then the anger of the American patriots will reach the point where they will actively “defend the Republic” against the “revolutionist traitors.”

Anger will turn into action to restore justice!

Remember extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice!

Gird your loins. There’s a storm coming.

The classic 1966 movie Is Paris Burning? centers around Adolf Hitler’s desire, as the Allied armies advance through France in 1944, to see Paris destroyed rather than fall into the hands of his enemies. Paris didn’t burn in 1944, but the conflagration, as it turns out, was just delayed. CNN reported Friday that “Paris and most major cities – including Lyon, Marseille, Lille, Bordeaux and Rennes – have been hit by protests.” Hitler is finally getting his wish. But why now?

France is in turmoil, CNN added, because of “proposed pension reforms.” Reportedly, “many people are unhappy with President Emmanuel Macron’s pension reform, which will raise the full-pension retirement age from 62 to 64. They’re also angry that he used constitutional powers to push the reform through.” France’s legendary welfare system has hit a wall.

As is typical for Leftist political elites today and throughout the ages, Macron is pushing austerity on his people while having no intention of tightening his own belt: he drew international ridicule Friday for putting his hands under the table during a televised discussion and surreptitiously taking off a luxury watch, the estimated worth of which could be as high as $86,000, while talking about how the French people were going to have to make sacrifices.

The hypocrisy of the elites, however, is just one small aspect of a much larger problem. A 2016 study ranked France’s welfare system as the most generous in the world, and that system has not changed significantly since then. “France’s social security deficit was approximately $22 billion in 2012,” said the study, and as you’d expect, that problem has not been solved, but has only gotten worse. Reuters reported in September 2020 that “France’s social security deficit will reach record levels this year,” and was set to reach 44 billion euros ($51.4 billion) that year, “far more than the deficit of 5.4 billion forecast last year [2019] by the government.” This is because of the government’s record-breaking profligacy. The 2016 study notes that France “has the most generous social welfare spending, which amounts for 31.5% of its GDP.”

Why does France need this massively generous welfare system? In large part to support the migrants who were brought into the country to serve as a work force as the native French population, which had stopped reproducing, aged and retired. A 2016 Brookings study noted that while fifteen percent of native French fifteen- to twenty-nine-year-olds were unemployed, fully forty percent of migrants from North Africa, sub-Saharan Africa, and Turkey of that age were jobless.

Brookings observed that “recent immigrants and their descendants tend to concentrate in public housing projects that were built in the 1960s and 1970s in low-rent neighborhoods; in France, these projects are located on the urban outskirts, known as banlieues or cités.” These areas are predominantly Muslim: “the proportion of residents of North African origin may be very high, but it is never all inclusive; other Africans, Turks, and nonimmigrant French live alongside Arabs and Berbers from Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia.” And “these neighborhoods are marked by poverty” and “welfare dependence.”

Non-Muslims paying for the upkeep of Muslims is a Qur’anic dictate, as the Islamic holy book commands Muslims to fight against Jews and Christians “until they pay the jizya [a poll tax] with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued” (9:29). The caliph Umar said the payments from the non-Muslims who were subjugated under Muslim rule (dhimmis) were the source of the Muslims’ livelihood: “I advise you to fulfill Allah’s Convention (made with the Dhimmis) as it is the convention of your Prophet and the source of the livelihood of your dependents (i.e. the taxes from the Dhimmis.)’” (Bukhari 4.53.388)

UK jihad preacher Anjem Choudary said in February 2013: “We are on Jihad Seekers Allowance, We take the Jizya (protection money paid to Muslims by non-Muslims) which is ours anyway. The normal situation is to take money from the Kafir (non-Muslim), isn’t it? So this is normal situation. They give us the money. You work, give us the money. Allah Akbar, we take the money. Hopefully there is no one from the DSS (Department of Social Security) listening. Ah, but you see people will say you are not working. But the normal situation is for you to take money from the Kuffar (non-Muslim) So we take Jihad Seeker’s Allowance.”

But now the gravy train is running dry, and France is aflame. The protests are enormous and destructive. According to CNN, “More than a million people took to the streets across France on Thursday with protests turning violent in some areas…. French police said around 1,000 people acted ‘violently,’ setting fires, launching smoke bombs and damaging property. In the southwestern city of Bordeaux, protesters set fire to the entrance of the city hall during ongoing clashes with police.”

And so it must be asked about the entire enterprise of bringing massive numbers of migrants into France, many of whom depend on a welfare system that is now cracking under the strain: was it worth it?

Prosecutor Admits DC Police Officers Acted as Provocateurs at US Capitol on Jan. 6

A federal prosecutor admitted in court papers that three D.C. Metropolitan Police Department undercover officers acted as provocateurs at the northwest steps of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

The admission came in a March 24 filing before U.S. District Judge Rudolph Contreras that seeks to keep video footage shot by the officers under court seal.

Prosecutors accused the case defendant—William Pope of Topeka, Kansas—of an “illegitimate” attempt to unmask the video as part of his alleged strategy to try the case in the news media. Pope filed a motion to remove the court seal on Feb. 21.

“The defendant is not entitled to ‘undesignate’ these videos to share them with unlimited third parties,” said Assistant U.S. Attorney Kelly Moran. “His desire to try his case in the media rather than in a court of law is illegitimate, and the government has met its burden to show the necessity of the protective order.”

Videos long hidden under court seal have become a major topic, especially with prosecutors disclosing in a number of high-profile Jan. 6 cases the involvement of multiple FBI informants.

Pope is seeking to lift the court seal on the undercover video as part of his drive to obtain full access to video evidence held by the government. Pope is representing himself in the criminal case being prosecuted against him. At a hearing on March 3, Judge Contreras seemed sympathetic to Pope’s motion to unmask the videos.

“The officer clearly incited that area, and we still don’t have video from all other undercover MPD,” Pope told The Epoch Times. “And as the numerous informants in the Proud Boys trial demonstrates, we are only just beginning to scratch the surface on FBI involvement.”

The undercover video—a portion of which posted on Rumble on March 24—shows three members of the MPD’s Electronic Surveillance Unit approach the Capitol’s northwest steps. One of the men, while surveying the crowd, stated, “Someone’s going to get shot.”

Officer 2 replied, “They’re not going to shoot anybody.”

Along the edge of the Capitol property, Officer 2 encouraged one protester to go up to the building. “Go join ‘em then,” he said. The man replied, “No, I’ve got my bike to guard.”

The men engaged in banter on the walk across the west Capitol lawn.

‘Never Seen Anything Like This’

“This is amazing,” Officer 2 said. Officer 1, who was shooting the GoPro video, replied, “Yeah, I’ve never seen anything like this.”

Nearly 30 members of the Electronic Surveillance Unit were assigned to duty on Jan. 6, some of whom were gathering evidence on crowd activity. Members wore special bands on their left wrists to identify themselves as part of the Electronic Surveillance Unit, according to the MPD’s 96-page Jan. 6 action plan.

The story covers HSBC’s exoneration in December 2012 for laundering money for drug dealers and terrorists, and sadly this documentary didn’t get nearly the scrutiny it deserved. You see, prosecutors working on the HSBC case were actually going to indict the bank, but they got overruled, and HSBC and its team of criminals skated. Biden Administration: Just say anything!

My latest letter to Joey Kahn, Executive Editor of The New York Times

Dear Joey,

I hope today finds you well. I have been meaning to write to you for awhile now, to commend you and your staff on your superlative investigative reporting, which is synonymous with the iconic New York Times. Your laser focused determination to print honest, factual information puts you head and shoulders above the rest. I applaud your sense of human decency and ability to always show that there are two sides to every story. I can’t thank you enough, for the example that you set for the youth of America. Bravo Joey Kahn, Bravo!

Once again though Kahny, I have to be the bearer of bad news. It seems those right wing lunatics are up to their old tricks again. Yep, their endless congressional hearings, their mud-slinging, grotesque accusations and innuendos abound. Have they no sense of decency, like that which you and The Times exude day in and day out. Let’s take a look at some some of their accusations and see if there is an iota of credibility.

Like I said, right wing conspiracy theorists are always challenging the veracity of this administration, especially Joey Robinette himself. How they can attack a person who quite possibly could be the most genuinely honest and accomplished orator of all time, is beside me. Together with being a devout, deeply religious individual (self-proclaimed, much like the angelic Nancy Pelosi), how can anyone question his integrity.

It Doesn’t Matter, Just Say Anything

Well, conservatives have a much different point of view. They feel that the corrupt puppet occupying the White House and his entire administration, are corrupt, pathological liars—who know no bounds, and will do or say anything to stay in power. They site several examples of blatant lying and gaslighting. Let’s take a look a few recent whoppers.

Recently, bank records were exposed showing some financial transactions from Billy Walker who is an associate of the Biden Crime Family. It seems Billy-boy received approximately $3,000,000 from State Energy HK Limited, an company affiliated with the CHINESE Communist Party Why is this important Kahny, well I’m glad you asked. It seems soon after this, ole Billy wired over $1,000,000 to the Biden syndicate. Included in this payout were of course Hunter, crack addict/energy expert/military hero/world renowned painter (anonymous buyers, of course);his old girlfriend and brother Beau’s widow, Hailie; Jimmy Biden (the big guys brother); and another Biden, not named. Care to venture a guess who that might be Kahny? Possibly—Mr. 10% for the big guy? And people ask why Beijing Biden is so accommodating to the Chinese: never questioning them on the origin of Covid 19 and the killing of over 1,000,000 Americans; or the spy balloon roaming free across our nation’s military installations; or selling them gas from our strategic oil reserve. Is Joey compromised….c’mon man. Nothing to see here, move along.

I mean, is it possible that Hailie (Beau’s widow/Hunter’s ex-girlfriend) is also an energy expert like Hunter? You remember after he was discharged from the Navy due to using cocaine, he landed a job on the board of directors of a Burisma Energy company…..for $87,000 a month! That Navy training sure paid off, except for that whole cocaine thingy, getting in the way. Didn’t hurt that his father was the VP then either, I guess.

Well, reporters wanted answers to all of this. Reporter’s questioned the President when he was heading off to his usual 3 day long weekend at the beach (those 4 day weeks/4 hour days can be brutal). When asked about the over $1,000,000 going to family members, he replied, “that’s not true.” Ok, that is that then! He does get high grades though, as he walked in the right direction towards the helicopter, and climbed the whole 3 steps without incident. Networks were showering him with accolades of athleticism and such youthful vigor for traversing the stairs. Joy Behar had tears in her eyes describing the event. Reportedly, Mr. Behar had tears in his eyes also, this was due to the fact he knew Joy was coming home after the show.

Propaganda Queen

Then it was Press Secretary Karine Goebbels turn to answer for these transactions, and as usual she did not disappoint………..with her ineptness, that is. When posed with the money transactions to the crime family sorry, I mean Biden’s, she was having none of it. Usually, she just reads from her scripted binder, just flips to the right tab, for instance: Afghanistan debacle; runaway inflation; southern border catastrophe; Chinese surveillance balloons; Tara Reade (oops, not supposed to talk about that one)…well, you get the idea.

Well, she didn’t have her scripted response, so she shot from the hip. She said to the effect, “I’m not going to stand up here and address this now. This is an endless lie perpetrated by the Republican Party for a long time now.” Then finally, “I wouldn’t even know where to start.” Well, I’m no sleuth like you and your investigative reporters over at Pravda Kahny, but couldn’t she start with the black and white printed bank statements? The ones with all the Biden’s names on them—what do you think Kahny, you’re a whiz at this sort of stuff.

The True Kings of Propaganda

So you see Kahny, there seems to be a prevailing theme with this installed administration: Just say anything! Yep, just say anything, and why not—who is going to hold them accountable? You Kahny? Maybe WAPO, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC? Yes sir, not a peep from you unbiased “journalists.” No, you’re all too consumed with seeing if President Trump had any overdue books he never returned in high school. Hey, maybe Chardonnay Pelosi can get the gang together and have Impeachment #3 going! Plus I’m dying to see if unhinged Adam Schiff, will be providing us with that insurmountable evidence of Russian collusion, which he promised YEARS ago…..any day now, any day. No follow up story on that falsehood Kahny…..shocking!

They have Called in the Big Guns

It seems they have been able to lure New York City DA Alvin Bragg away from the buffet line, to take his turn attacking President Trump. Ole let ‘em loose Alvin, known for his revolving door of bail reform (a big part of the mass exodus from NYC); who is well known for turning felonies into misdemeanors, is doing the exact opposite with President Trump……..I wonder why Kahny? It seems the fed’s didn’t want to pursue the case, the former DA of NY didn’t want to pursue it—heck, even ole Alvin himself didn’t want to take it on…..initially, Hmmmmm.

Trump Must be Stopped at any Cost

The timing seems a little suspect, wouldn’t ya say Kahny old boy? Let’s see there are 2 schools of thought on this.

  1. It seems ever since President Trump made his intentions known, that he would seek the presidency, well that is when Alvin put the knife and fork down (momentarily, of course) and decided to pursue the case. I’m sure a call or two from Georgie Soros, or Barry (aka Barrack Hussein) didn’t hurt. Word is Beijing Biden tried to call, but he was found talking into the tv remote control, for hours. I believe, “Dr.” Jill, finally rendered him assistance, got him into his onesie, night cap and tucked him in, despite his pleas to watch cartoons.
  2. It seems there has been an endless conga line of congressional investigations going on, with many to follow I’m told. I guess it was things that ole Chardonnay wasn’t concerned about getting answers to like the weaponization of the DOJ, and FBI. Plus she had her hands full, bailing out Paulie Pelosi for his DUI, and then also when his escort service took a bad turn. I mean, when that bad guy broke into the house and attacked him…wink, wink. I think it was the same MAGA guy that got Jussie Smollett—darn MAGA’s. Do you think because the spotlight is being thrown on the corrupt, incompetent, installed administration, that they need a major diversionary tactic? Do you think that is why alleged multiple winner of the 76oz steak challenge Alvin Bragg is on the prowl?

I guess it is not fair to ask you, Joe Kahn, Executive Editor of the New York Times. There is barely a blurb about any of this in your tabloid. Usually if it is, it is to discredit the congressional committees as witch hunts, with sinister undertones. Always showing your journalistic integrity Kahny.

Beyond the Twilight Zone

I did just heard some encouraging news recently though Kahny. It seems the honorable Governor Kathy Hochul would like to get legislation passed— to ban gas stoves in new buildings by 2025, and new HOUSES by 2026, in New York State. That is fantastic news. Now, besides having parents dragged out or arrested from school board meetings over their children’s indoctrinating curriculum, labeling them domestic terrorists, we have this weapon— I mean solution. Maybe, we could have Merrick Garland have the FBI raid homes and start ripping out gas stoves—of course, this would apply to conservative households initially. I mean, why should she worry about rampant violent crime; ludicrous bail reform; shoplifting going unimpeded; people being flung in front of subway trains; out of control homelessness/mental illness; illegal immigration exploding—putting enormous strain on schools and healthcare facilities……obviously, the most pressing issue is gas stoves! Now, if we could only get China, India, and Russia to stop burning fossil fuels, we would be in great shape. I can’t understand why people are leaving New York in droves, it’s mind boggling.

Back to Gaslighting

Well Joey Kahn, I’ll let you get back to projecting, omitting, diverting, and of course lying in your tabloid, to what is actually going on. C’mon man there is a ton of gaslighting you have to do to cover for the real domestic terrorists, the ones installed to bring down, I mean lead our country. I’m sure Barry is smiling, sitting on a lounger, next to Michael at one of his seaside estates, doing his 3rd term by proxy. I look forward to tomorrows tabloid, and it’s 8-10 articles on President Trump—while ghosting the name Biden and the failed policies and corruption. You’re a good little servant for the cause Joey Kahn, yep, there’s that journalistic integrity we always talk about. Remember, the Old Gray Lady’s mantra—printing all the propaganda, that is fit to print.

You’ve Probably Never Been ‘Woman Of The Year,’ But These 9 Men Have

After naming Richard/Rachel Levine, a man who parades around in ladyface, as one of its 2022 “Women of the Year,” USA Today is back to remind us that it doesn’t know — or doesn’t care — what a woman is.

Earlier this week, the outlet released its list of 2023 honorees, and the name getting the most attention is that of Minnesota state Rep. Leigh Finke, a pink-haired man who dresses like a woman and has been in office for less than 12 weeks.

Nothing says “we respect women” like elbowing them out of their own awards to laud a man who makes a mockery of womanhood. Finke isn’t the only man coopting the “woman of the year” pedestal. Here are eight other men who have displaced women at their own game.

Big-Time Pessimism Is Out There — and Biden Owns It

“Most Americans doubt their children will be better off.” This is the headline on a major Wall Street Journal article today about a WSJ-NORC poll. The subhead reads: “Dim view of economy underpins pessimism about future and record-low happiness in U.S.” NORC, by the way, is the University of Chicago’s nonpartisan research group.

It’s the kind of headline I hate to see because I’m a congenital optimist, but I know big-time pessimism is out there. I also know that I’m going to sound partisan, but my own view is that President Biden owns this pessimism, the same way he owns the inflation that is haunting middle-class working people.

It was his massive spending, which really continues to this day, that caused the inflation that is the cruelest tax of all, to paraphrase Maynard Keynes. On spending, a major Wall Street firm just estimated Mr. Biden’s badly misnamed “Inflation Reduction Act” would come in at a cost of $1.2 trillion, three times the CBO estimate. Spending on electric vehicles is expected to total $393 billion, 28 times what the Joint Committee on Taxation projected and bigger than the entire JTC/CBO print.

That’s just one example of the frenzied spending.

Consumer prices during Mr. Biden’s presidency are up 14.4 percent. February’s inflation ran at nearly triple the rate of the year before the pandemic began. Grocery prices up 20 percent. Gasoline up 35 percent. Utility services up 41 percent. New cars 19 percent. Used cars 22 percent. Housing services up 13 percent. And on and on.

In the NORC poll, nearly two-thirds said inflation is a major concern, and roughly four in 10 cited healthcare and housing costs. Despite low unemployment, there’s anxiety about the job market. Almost half said their finances are worse than expected. More than half have lost faith in the power of an education.

Just 12 percent describe themselves as “very happy,” the lowest share on record since NORC began asking the question every few years starting in 1972. What’s going on here is that the Biden administration has not generated any confidence in its ability to steward economic prosperity, both now and in the future.

I also believe Mr. Biden owns the banking problem, because the original sin of his bailouts was skyrocketing inflation — which ultimately led to huge interest rate increases and have sent a major shiver throughout banks all around the world.

On that point, working people do not like the bank bailouts one bit. They know the privileged few will get these bailouts, and they also know they’re going to have to pay for it, and they are already up to their eyeballs in taxes and household payments.

Drag Queen Taught 11-Year-Olds About Anal Sex, Parent Complains

The parent of one child has alleged her 11-year-old was taught about anal and oral sex by a drag queen while attending her local school.

The mother of one 11-year-old has expressed outrage after her 11-year-old daughter was reportedly taught about both oral and anal sex by a drag queen while attending school.

It comes after another boy in the school was allegedly given detention by the same drag queen after he publicly rejected his claim that there are 73 genders.

According to a report by The Mail, the drag queen had come to the Queen Elizabeth II school located in the Crown Dependency of the Isle of Man to teach children sexual education.

Such lessons provided to children however are said to have been extremely graphic, with the educational facility reportedly being forced to suspend their sex education lessons after public outcry over the drag queen’s actions.

“When my daughter told me what had happened, I got onto the school immediately and asked them what on earth they were doing talking in such graphic detail,” one mother, whose young daughter was reportedly taught by the drag queen, reportedly told The Mail.

“My daughter is just 11 years old, she’s five years below the age of consent and is learning about anal sex and oral sex,” she explained. “What were the school thinking of?”

Although parents have expressed particular concern regarding the graphic content of the drag queen’s lessons, controversy has also emerged regarding the ideological nature of the lessons, which reportedly taught various tenets of transgenderism to children as fact.

According to The Telegraph, the guest speaker instructed children that there are 73 genders, and that when one 14-year-old boy challenged them on this, they were reportedly sent out of the room.

“You’ve upset me,” the drag queen reportedly said before ejecting the young teenager, who is said to have subsequently been given detention by the school for “being disruptive”.

Both the boy and his parents have rejected this claim made by the school, however, insisting that he was just “simply expressing his own opinion”.

“As far as I’m concerned you can’t change biology and I was amazed when I called the school to find out why my son had been given a detention,” the mother of the boy said.

“The fact our children are not allowed to have their own view, in other words that there are only two genders is disgusting,” she continued. “The teacher was drumming it into them that there were several genders and he just said as he is entitled to that he didn’t accept it and he was punished for having his own opinion.”

“There is absolutely no need to ram gender and pride down kids’ throats and the more it’s done then the more it just alienates the majority of parents and children,” she went on to say.

Our Department of Defense and uniformed military at the highest levels are now obsessed with Diversity Equity Inclusion/Critical Race Theory myths to the point where they can openly say racist things about white people and get away with it.

Beijing Joe Biden has the absolute worst Pollical appointees running our military – totally WOKE. No interest in Combat Readiness or being able to win war but totally concentrating on climate change and race in form of CRT and its synonym DEI.

Pentagon official forced to read anti-White statements from its diversity chief in congressional hearing

A senior Biden-appointed Pentagon official – Gil Cisneros – was forced to read and explain divisive statements against White people from one of his employees in a grilling hearing at the House Armed Services Committee Thursday.

Cisneros – Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness – was responsible for determining the outcome of a probe into former DEI chief Kelisa Wing over divisive tweets about White people, which called them “Karen[s].”

“Mr. Cisneros, are you familiar with the tweet? Can you please read the tweet aloud?” asked Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., about one of Wing’s controversial posts.

Cisneros read the post verbatim at the hearing, which said, “So exhausted at the White folks in these PD sessions. This lady actually had the caudacity to say Black people can be racist, too. I had to stop the session and give the Karen the business. We are not the majority. We don’t have power.”

“This is wildly inappropriate and unacceptable. Do you agree with that, Mr. Cisneros?” Stefanik asked.

“I do agree that that is not acceptable. It’s not condoned by… the Department of Defense,” he said.

However, the Pentagon said it will issue no disciplinary action to its former diversity, equity and inclusion chief, Wing, over her statements about White people.

Matt Gaetz, R-Fla, said, “I would like to go back to the tweets of the racist person that works for you. What does ‘Caudacity’ mean?”

“I have no idea,” Cisneros said.

“You took six months to investigate one tweet. You didn’t even figure out what the words meant?” Gaetz asked.

Was the war worth the blood and treasure we spent on it? Here’s whom to ask.

Monday marked the twentieth anniversary of the second Gulf war, which detractors call the invasion of Iraq. I have always looked at it as the liberation, as do many Iraqis.

But most Americans have been taught a history of lies, a history forged by left-wing political activists and their allies in the media and rarely contradicted by those who knew the truth.

Even Britannica, the once authoritative encyclopedia, has bowed to the political orthodoxy, referring to Saddam Hussein’s “alleged” possession and manufacture of weapons of mass destruction.

That is the founding myth of the “Bush lied, people died” Democrats and the media.

So were there weapons of mass destruction in Iraq at the time of the U.S. invasion?

Absolutely. We know that because the United States and its coalition partners assembled a team of over 1,400 special forces operators, scientists and intelligence analysts to scour Iraq for the evidence. And what they reported has been wildly mischaracterized – at times, even by the leaders of that very effort.

David Kay, a former IAEA inspector who became famous for his parking lot “standoff” with Saddam’s goons, told the Senate Armed Services Committee on January 23, 2004, that WMD stockpiles would not be found in Iraq. “I don’t think they existed,” Kay said.

“Stockpiles” quickly became the defining term. But in Kay’s interim report to the House intelligence committee, just four months earlier, he painted a very different picture. “We have discovered dozens of WMD-related program activities and significant amounts of equipment that Iraq concealed from the United Nations during the inspections that began in late 2002,” he said.

This included:

  • A prison laboratory complex that may have been used for human testing of BW agents and “that Iraqi officials working to prepare the U.N. inspections were explicitly ordered not to declare to the U.N.” Why was Saddam interested in testing biological-warfare agents on humans if he didn’t have a biological weapons program?
  • New research on BW agents, brucella and Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever, and continuing work on ricin and aflatoxin that were not declared to the United Nations.
  • “Continuing covert capability to manufacture fuel propellant useful only for prohibited Scud-variant missiles, a capability that was maintained at least until the end of 2001 and that cooperating Iraqi scientists have said they were told to conceal from the U.N.”
  • “Plans and advanced design work for new long-range missiles with ranges up to at least 1,000 kilometers [621 miles] – well beyond the 150-kilometer-range limit [93 miles] imposed by the U.N.”
  • “[C]landestine attempts between late 1999 and 2002 to obtain from North Korea technology related to 1,300-kilometer-range [807 miles] ballistic missiles… antiship cruise missiles and other prohibited military equipment,” Kay reported.

But guess what? The media largely ignored that testimony, focusing instead on the single word, “stockpiles.”

In testimony before Congress on March 30, 2004, Kay’s successor, Charles Duelfer, revealed that the ISG had found evidence of a “crash program” to construct new plants capable of making chemical and biological warfare agents. The ISG also found a previously undeclared program to build a “high-speed rail gun,” a device apparently designed for testing nuclear-weapons materials. That came in addition to 500 tons of natural uranium stockpiled at Iraq’s main declared nuclear site south of Baghdad, which the International Atomic Energy Agency told me had been intended for “a clandestine nuclear-weapons program.”

The Pentagon ultimately spent $70 million to quietly ship that natural uranium stockpile to Canada in 2007. But no one ever talks about that.

The inspectors also found hundreds of tons of agricultural chemicals used to make pesticides – and nerve gas. These were, in fact, stockpiles of binary chemical weapons.

In a summary of his three volume report to the CIA, Duelfer concluded that “Saddam was directing resources to sustain the capacity to recommence producing WMD once UN sanctions and international scrutiny collapsed” – a collapse that was only forestalled by the U.S. invasion.

But to the Democrats who voted to approve the Iraq war and who were desperately seeking to walk back that vote, no stockpiles meant “Bush lied, people died.”

Several White House advisors later acknowledged that Karl Rove instructed them to ignore new evidence of WMD in Iraq after the war. “Let these sleeping dogs lie; we have lost that fight so better not to remind anyone of it,” David Wurmser recalled.

In an oped in the Wall Street Journal in 2010, Rove admitted that failing to push back against the lies told about WMD in Iraq was his “biggest mistake” while in the White House. It was also a betrayal of the Americans who laid down their lives to defend us and a travesty of the truth.

So was the war worth the blood and treasure we spent on it?

Don’t ask the media, the Democrats, or Saddam Hussein supporters among Iraq’s Sunni population. Ask the gold star families.

And then ask those Iraqis who were the victims of Saddam’s Republic of Fear.

Ask the Kurds who earlier this month commemorated the thirty-fifth anniversary of the mass poison gas attack against the Iraqi city of Halabja that killed more than 5,000 civilians.

Ask the families of the more than 100,000 Iraqi Kurds who were massacred during Saddam’s genocidal Anfal campaign in 1988.

Ask the Shia in Basra, Karbala, or in Baghdad itself, who lived in constant fear of Saddam’s goons.

Saddam’s apologists – who still live and speak publicly in Iraq and in the Arabic media – want you to believe that “millions” of Iraqis died in the war and that the United States decimated Iraq’s infrastructure so that even today they don’t have clean water or reliable electricity.

Iraqis have had twenty years and hundreds of billions of dollars of U.S. taxpayer aid to rebuild their infrastructure. If there are still gaps, blame the corrupt Iraqi politicians.

But Iraqis of all backgrounds today have one thing they could only dream about in 2003, and it is the most precious thing of all: their freedom. Americans purchased that freedom for them at great cost. What they do with it will be the legacy they leave their children.

Giving New Heart to the Wounded

Mary Eberstadt: As pressure mounts on the Church to capitulate to the sexual revolution, evidence shows it would cripple the Church, as it has crippled every other church that’s tried it. 

Adam and Eve after the Pill, Revisited, closes a body of work that’s occupied a lot of my attention for the past fifteen years. I don’t mean that the last word has been said – far from it. New voices are emerging, including from non-religious circles, that are also newly skeptical of the post-1960s status quo. I mean instead that an idea that started percolating fifteen years ago has now received the systematic treatment first envisioned for it.

For six decades, a secularizing Western society has been telling itself a falsely happy story about the outcomes of the sexual revolution. To counter that story, we’ve needed an account of its fallout closer to the truth. That account falls into two parts: one examining post-revolutionary reality among individuals; and the other examining its effects on the wider world.

In 2008, the then-editor of First Things, Joseph Bottum, invited me to write an essay about Humanae Vitae to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the encyclical. At the time, this seemed like a fine opportunity for an exercise in spirited contrarianism. After all, Humanae Vitae may be the most universally mocked and reviled religious statements of the past century. How, many millions have asked, could the Church possibly defend the teaching against artificial contraception? Didn’t it want to join the modern world? Etc.

Before I could try to shock the bourgeoisie with a rousing defense of Humanae Vitae, I actually had to read the thing for the first time. It’s hard to get across just how transformative that reading became. Humanae Vitae makes several predictions about what the world would look like once the sexual revolution really took hold.  The reason these predictions amazed me was simple, yet profound.

As a researcher who had studied and written about various aspects of American society over the years, I knew from different forms of evidence, popular as well as expert, that these predictions weren’t just predictions – they had actually all come true. Confirmation abounded, especially in the social sciences. In fact, Humanae Vitae has been vindicated as few attempts to spy the future ever are: including by information that did not exist when the document was written, and by scholars and other experts with no interest whatever in its teaching.

What struck me most forcefully here was that Church teaching was being vindicated by secular sources – again, secular social science, assembled by mostly secular social scientists, and appearing in secular journals. It was not theology that was demonstrating the downside of separating procreation and recreation – though no doubt theology can. Instead, it was scholarship about subjects like broken homes, interrupted relations between the sexes, rising rates of mental illness and addiction, and lots of other interrelated facts. And though the myriad authors of that research across the decades wouldn’t have dreamed of it, their work, understood in full, had gone to show, in effect, that Humanae Vitae and related Church teaching were right.

That perception – that aha! moment – led to the two Adam and Eve books, and their contrarian readings of the legacy of the sexual revolution. The first, Adam and Eve after the Pill, examined what might be called the microcosmic fallout of humanity’s embrace of contraception: the effects on individual men, women, and children, and on the radically changed social mores of the postrevolutionary order.

The second, new book widens the aperture to cover the macrocosmic fallout. It dissects the effects of the revolution on society, politics, and the Church. Needless to add, the Foreword by the late, great Cardinal George Pell, with whom I discussed some of these arguments, is the honor of a lifetime. This book, like the earlier one, revolves around the same general theme: the most unpopular Church teaching is being vindicated inadvertently, but really, by the accumulation of postrevolutionary evidence.

Much of what we do in life feels accidental at the time. This body of work is no exception. The late Fr. Arne Panula was a great believer in Providence. At times I feel he’s laughing at me for not having shared his certainty about the workings of that capital-P word. The idea that I’d spend years committing these arguments to paper, and sometimes to public appearances, would have seemed unlikely, even absurd to me in 2008; and certainly unwanted. But unexpected or not, the work commenced, and its unfolding changed me.

Before, I thought of myself as a writer who happened to be Catholic. Afterwards, I became a Catholic writer. What does that mean? It means that even if I hadn’t been a Catholic in the first place, the assembling of the evidence in the Adam and Eve books would have forced me to become one.

That’s because, if the argument of those books is true, then Church teaching is true. And if Church teaching is true, and one is privileged to witness a proof of that truth, however unanticipated, one can’t move on, and pretend there’s nothing to see here. One is stuck. And that’s how I turned from an accidental Catholic into an intentional one.

A thought that permeates both books that takes us straight to the present: We are all witnesses, here and now, to a great irony that encompasses not only the Catholics of America, but those of the entire West.

After all, Western Christianity spends most of its time these days in a defensive crouch, squabbling internally. Yet all the while, evidence from outside the Church continues to point toward something that many inside the Church seem not to know. The Church, practically alone among all institutions, has been harboring profound truths for two thousand years – most notably, in this case, the truth that living by that big, bad rule book is actually better for human beings than discarding it.

The irony is extraordinary. Pressure has been mounting for a long time now for the Catholic Church to do what most Protestant churches have done – abandon the teachings that prompt the most complaining from the pews – i.e., put down the Catechism, and pick up the cool-kid flag. Yet even as the call for capitulation grows louder, transforming and deforming Catholic discussion, the evidence thrown out by the world itself points in the opposite direction: caving to the sexual revolution would cripple the Church – exactly as it has crippled every other church that’s tried it.

And beyond that institutional point lies another that is surpassingly important. This kind of remedial labor, this insistence that postrevolutionary reality is other than what the dominant culture says it is, is not done for no reason. The revolution continues to claim many, many victims. To honor their witness is not some kind of reactionary indulgence, as boosters of the revolution claim. No: it is humanitarian work. There needs to be more of it. And there will be.

Meanwhile, it’s my modest hope that the facts assembled during these past 15 years will persuade some believers and unbelievers alike, and above all, give new heart to the wounded and those who tend them.
