Grass Roots Groups Join forces to Review Bias in Public School Textbooks

Truth in Textbooks (TNT), formerly known as Truth in Texas Textbooks (TTT) along with Textbook Alert are combining and joining ACT for America Education to form the most extensive teams of social studies textbook reviewers in the country.  TNT is seeking volunteers to review social studies textbooks with training classes beginning in April, July and Oct 2016.  You can write to to learn more about the details of the program.

The goal is to have a total of 300-500 volunteers fully trained by the end of this year.  Upon completion of the specialized TNT training (all TTT trainers), graduates will be asked to donate 6 weeks a year to assist teachers, parents and concerned citizens with not just social studies textbook review but requested reviews of any supplemental material, videos and other instructional material submitted to TNT.  A full report including clear documentation of any errors will be provided free of charge to the submitters of the material. TNT will also provide experts to assist in helping navigate working with schools, school boards and other educational entities to affect change.

The first class, 2016 A, made up of volunteers from 18 states is undergoing training and completes their training in late March for a review of textbooks in North Carolina.  Recruitment, screening and selection for Class 2016 B is underway now and you can write to and express your interest in participating. You will receive more information and a survey to complete.

The samples below are just small sample of the 1500 errors found by TTT. Of the 1500 findings, over 60% of the material was either removed or changed.

  • McGraw Hill said in their 2014 edition of their World History textbook submitted for Texas approval the following about the spread of Islam: “In the conquered territories of Asia and North Africa there were peaceful interactions among Muslim, Christian, and Jewish societies.”
  • Houghton Mifflin said the following in their 2014 World History textbook Sharia law requires Muslim leaders to extend religious tolerance to Christians and Jews.”
  • In in the 2014 McGraw Hill World Geography textbook purposefully left out key elements to describe the 911 attacks as related to Islam, Islamic ideology or the countries of the attackers with this rather simple statement; Terrorism became a major concern of many Americans after September 11, 2001, when terrorists hijacked four passenger planes, crashing them into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a Pennsylvania field. After such devastation, the United States launched a war on terrorism focused.”
  • Multiple publishers described our form of government as a “democracy”, not a constitutional republic.

Two executive summary with many more examples can be found here.

Fifty concerned citizens ensured 5 million children in Texas will have more factually correct and less politically correct textbooks for the next 10 years.  The summary of TTT findings can be found in this brochure.

Come join this national effort. Participating will help your state and your school district down the road as the publishers will peddle the same books to the educators in your state eventually.  Trying to do this on a state by state basis is duplicating effort that doesn’t need to be done.  Centralizing the training with a “rapid response” team of reviewers standing by ready to respond is a more efficient way to help our children.  Please consider participating by writing to to learn more.

When Will The American People Ever Learn?

Well, 2016 is here and let me state the obvious.  2015 is now in the history books and we can look back at it and learn from it. Why did I state the obvious?  Because we seem to have forgotten to look at history so we can to learn from where we have come from in order to chart a smarter course going forward.

I look at the fat list of presidential candidates still vying for that coveted party nomination and I wonder have Americans learned anything over the previous twelve months?  Have we gotten any wiser?  Any smarter?  Did we even catch a clue about reality?

Sadly, I would have to answer in the negative.  You see, the list of candidates on this early January 2016 shows me that we have learned little if we actually learned anything at all.

It is amazing how we seem to repeat history over and over again.  Now, of course, some folks could cry that they are ignorant of history.  And you could say that would be a valid reason for repeating but the truth is, we are actually repeating recent history.

Not long ago, most Americans who were eligible to vote were, at least, alive and cognizant when one candidate by the name of Barrack Obama ran for the office of President.

We as a nation thought it would be cool to elect a man simply because of the color of his skin and it did not matter if he was qualified or not.  It did not matter if he was properly vetted and his own personal history and beliefs were ironed out or not.

The only thing that mattered is that we Americans of the day were going to make history because history was all that mattered.

Well, that election is now HISTORY.  It is long past us and did we learn anything from that election?  I say no we did not because of one reason and that is Presidential Candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Koch Brothers begin running anti-Trump ads in Florida

american-future-fund-1The Charles G. and David H. Koch funded American Future Fund Political Action (AFF-PA) is running a new six-figure Florida ad buy The ad buy attacks Trump’s claims to be “highly educated” and to “have the best words” that these “best words” largely consist of public outbursts of profanity and vulgarity unbefitting a President of the United States. The American Future Fund is an Iowa-based 501(c)(4) tax-exempt organization affiliated with the Center to Protect Patient Rights.

The Associate Press reported:

Worried about ‘Republican on Republican violence,’ top party donors are taking action, with one firing off a letter calling for more civility and another seeking to block businessman Donald Trump from the debate stage altogether.

“Civility” is a code word for “political correctness.”

Many see this ad run in Florida as an attempt to save the Rubio campaign. It is part of the #AnyoneButTrump effort to discredit the leading candidate for the GOP presidential nomination.

But will it work or just drive more people to the polls to vote for Trump in Florida?

The ad does not attack Trump’s positions on issues such as national security, immigration, the economy or government overreach. Rather it takes soundbites from Trump on the campaign trail, focusing on those showing “Trump at public appearances uttering bleeped-out profanities and vulgarities including “motherf*****,” “a**,” “p***y,” “d**n,” “s***,” and “f***.” The idea is to portray Trump as not presidential.

What is interesting about this ad is that Trump is loved because he doesn’t fit the mold of a politically correct presidential candidate. To many Trump is a breath of fresh air.

Trump speaks the language of ordinary, middle class Americans of all ages, races, creeds and color. He uses their language to communicate his ideas. Ideas that Trumpites and a growing number of Democrats, Independents and black voters understand and embrace.

American Future Fund Political Action spokesperson Stuart Roy said, “Donald Trump’s repeated public reliance on profanities and vulgarities to express himself is one more piece in an ever-mounting pile of evidence that he does not have the temperament or moral integrity to lead the world’s greatest nation. As the ad concludes, Trump is ‘offensive and out-of-control.’ America and the world are watching, and we can – and must – do better if we are to maintain our exceptionalism and global leadership.”

Civility doesn’t win elections, straight talk does.

If you want to hear these same words used by Trump in the AFF-PA ad, or far worse, then just go to any Hollywood movie (i.e. Marvel’s Deadpool), or watch television, or listen to rap music or pick up a “young adult” novel your child is reading in America’s public schools.

Trump, when he uses expletives, it is to drive home his point. It is talking to the American voter, not the politically correct elite, the media or the Koch brothers.

What’s that saying? Sticks and stones may break my bones but words may win the GOP presidential nomination in 2016!

For those who wish to view this ad we offer this warning of bleeped pejoratives. Enjoy:

This is Why the GOP Can’t Win Black Votes without Trump

The party establishment can’t fathom the thought of Trump being our nominee, despite him playing by the very rules that the establishment, who are trying to sabotage his campaign, created. Go figure.

I am stunned that many in the establishment ran over each other to denounce Trump over the David Duke and KKK issue, which I found kind of bizarre.

Most people are criticized for what they say, not for what they didn’t say. Many of these people that denounced Trump over what some have said was him stoking racial fears among voters all of a sudden became filled with righteous indignation over what they deemed to be a racist act by Trump.

But where were these same people when… South Carolina congressman Joe Wilson shouted to Obama “you lie” during a joint session of Congress.

Colorado congressman, Doug Lamborn said, “now I don’t want to be associated with him [Obama], it’s like touching a tar baby.”

Sarah Palin once wrote on her Facebook, “President Obama’s shuck and jive shtick with these Benghazi lies must end.”

This feigned righteous indignation over Trump is nothing more than a political stunt, because the Republican establishment is scared crapless of the possibility of a Trump nomination.

The other thing that I noticed was the lack of any Black Republicans representing any of the Republican institutions in the media. This shows once again, how tone deaf the party is when it comes to the Black community and optics.

You rarely, if ever, see the party avail a Black staffer to deal with an issue of race that involves the Black community. Part of the reason is that the few Blacks that work for the party have absolutely no standing or credibility within the Black community when it comes to issues of race.

The other reason is that most Black Republicans constantly tell their superiors that they “don’t” want to speak on issues that pertain to the Black community; they want to be an employee, not a Black employee of the party.

The party is totally oblivious to the optics of only trotting out Whites to speak out on issues perceived to be racists towards the Black community.

Where are Black Republican civil rights icons like Bob Brown or Bob Woodson? Where are people like Shannon Reeves, lifetime member of the NAACP and former board member?

Because Republicans have no Blacks with any type of authority or knowledge of PR and communications, they continue to dig themselves into a deeper hole.

Let me say for the record, there is not one shred of evidence in Trumps body of work that he has any racist tendencies whatsoever. If I have to judge a man by his words or his actions; his actions will win out every time.

But isn’t it amazing that the only person running for president that has shown an ability to build a coalition of Blacks, whites, Hispanics, blue collar, and white collar workers is the very person the party’s establishment is trying to discredit?

Trump is the only campaign that has Blacks on TV and in newspapers officially representing the campaign. Last Tuesday at his post SEC primary press conference, Trump looked directly into the camera and said that he will get 25 percent of the Black vote.

Regardless of your thoughts of Trump, he laid down his marker with the Black vote. Twenty five percent of the Black vote for Trump is not unreasonable.

I challenge my readers and members of the Republican Party to name me the last time you saw a Black person actually officially representing the party on TV, newspaper, or radio.

When was the last time a Black was empowered to negotiate on behalf of the party an appearance before a Black group like the NAACP or the National Urban League?

Trump has done more to engage with the Black community in nine months than the party has done in nine years.

Trump is the only presidential candidate that seems to think the Black vote is worth pursuing. He has verbally asked Blacks to vote for him; he has hired Blacks in extremely high-level positions; and he has showcased Blacks on stage with him on multiple occasions.

When was the last time you saw a Black with credibility in the Black community on stage with any Republican leader?

Republicans showcase more Black Democrats than they do Black Republicans.

So, before the party establishment throws Trump to the side, maybe, just maybe, that should look at what he is doing right.

If Donald Trump is a racist, then maybe the Republican Party needs to become more racist.

Donald Trump has the New World Order [Communists & Muslims] trembling

We are getting closer to returning this nation back to a free market, capitalist money making, freedom loving, flag waving, glorious place to live.

Donald Trump, U.S. presidential candidate and free market capitalist, is turning the New World Order Foreign diplomats on their heads. YAY! My kind of dude.

They are getting mighty nervous about what they state are “inflammatory” and “insulting public statements” by the steam roller Republican presidential front-runner Mr. Trump.

All this according to senior U.S. officials who at this juncture in our history are either Muslims, homosexuals or members of the Communist Party.

Mid-level New World Order dictators from Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia have complained about Mr. Trump said three U.S. officials, who all declined to be identified. Which means they are scared and have zero backbone.

Exclude the republic of Colombia because that free market capitalist nation would not give Obama the time of day. You have more freedom in Colombia right now than here in the USA.

We are talking about Ecuador here. Venezuela is fighting for its freedom and will soon be back!

To the folks at the Venezuelan Embassy.. arrest your Communist president and prosecute him! Do it. Be free again like your neighbor Colombia. Get bread back on your shelves.

Senior government New World Order high rollers in countries like the Islamic State of Britain, Taco Tuesday Mexico, white flag surrender France, and Ted Cruz’s Canada — have already made public comments criticizing Trump’s positions.

Now I don’t dislike Ted Cruz, but he is from Canada. He should stick around and stop bashing Mr. Trump. There will be a place for him in the Trump cabinet. Perhaps as Attorney General?

Marco Rubio needs to step aside and start being nice to Mr. Trump too. He would be a good asset as ambassador to Cuba. He wants to help Cuba then step aside and get behind Mr. Trump. Do it!

All this while the Socialist German Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel the Muslim embracing nation destroyer has branded Mr. Trump a threat to peace and prosperity in an interview published on Sunday.

This after Germany has banned all pork sausages to appease the Muslim take over of their country. Germany is on its way to being an Islamic state. They need to start getting the building permits ready for all the mosques.

Japan’s embassy declined to make any comment against Mr. Trump. They remember Hiroshima so they really don’t want to piss off future President Trump, best to say nothing at this juncture. Nagasaki also comes to mind.

The Indian and South Korean embassies did not respond to requests for comment.

The Indians did bring us superb curry recipes and South Korean’s the Hyundai so they are being quiet too.

Taco Tuesday Mexico did say its top diplomat Claudia Ruiz Massieu has accused Trump of being ignorant and racist and that his plan to build a border wall to stop illegal immigration was “absurd.”

mexicos-southern-border-fenceBut what the Mexicans fail to understand is that we have all the taco sauce we need, so indeed a WALL will be built to protect the sovereignty and security of the United States. Much like the wall the Mexicans built between their country and Guatemala.

Perhaps we will implement, under a Trump presidency, the same immigration policies Mexico has against illegal immigrants found in their country. See how that flies. Perhaps add a Trump Money gram tax of 2000% on all money wire transfers from the USA to Mexico.

Some of these New World Order wombats are also very upset by the anti-immigrant anti-Muslim rhetoric that Mr. Trump is pushing according to the Muslims and Communists currently running the U.S. government.

This country the United States is run on Constitutional law not Sharia law. So of course these folks are running scared by the protections Mr. Trump will put in place as President of the United States.. That’s his job as President to protect the border and ensure free trade.

The European Communists and the Middle Eastern governments are screaming enough already in regards to the alleged anti-Muslim declarations by Trump, that they say are being used in recruiting pitches by the Islamic State and other violent jihadist groups.

Folks, Muslims have been trying to decimate and kill Christians since Mohammed took power and went on a rampage across the once Christian nations of Saudi Arabia, Syria and Lebanon and the entire Arab peninsula. Mecca sits atop a Christian church destroyed my Mohammed.

So honestly we don’t really care what Muslims think. Everything we needed to learn about Muslims was shown to us on 9-11-2001, in Paris on 11-13-2015 and in San Bernardino, California. The list is endless. I say the best way to protect a sky scraper is to deport a Muslim.

What is most interesting is that more than a hundred Republican foreign policy veterans pledged this week to oppose Mr. Trump, they stated in an open letter that his ideas would undermine U.S. security. I will get all their names for Mr. Trump.

Yes indeed these Communists and Muslims operating in our government are afraid that the U.S. military will no longer be used as the worlds policeman and that Mr. Trump will start to rebuild our military, rebuild are troop strengths, increase our carrier battle fleets. This also means that Saudi Arabia will have to start fighting its own wars. Leave us out.

Trump will also provide the Navy SEALs with all the weapons they need instead of them having to borrow weapons from buddies in between deployments. I sent this info up the chain of command via some congressmen. Lets see who acts on it.

The New World Order Communists in the White House have decimated our military weakening the United States. Mr. Trump will not tolerate this anymore.

Also, North Korea is threatening a preemptive nuclear strike on the United States… Seriously ? Mr. North Korea…..South Korea needs a parking lot for overflow cars from the malls in Seoul …..we will oblige….pick a day….

We will return to super power status and bury those Muslims and Communists and the rest of the evil doers in our government trying to take us down internally. Obama I have a plane ticket for you to Dubai….

The New World Order U.S. military Police Dept. is coming to a close and we can get back to rebuilding our nation and our military and return to constitutional governance. Mr. Trump is the leader we have been waiting for.

So to all the yellow bellied, Communists, Muslims, and illegal immigrants that read my columns….. pack your **** and find a new place to live. Your fired.

As for Hillary Clinton… start planning on a nice vacation at the Federal Holiday Penitentiary Inn. Cheers.

Another Reason not to Admit Syrian Refugees: Anti-Semitism

On Monday, February 22, 2016, Dr. Charles Jacobs of Americans for Peace and Tolerance stood at a lectern in the rotunda of the Rhode Island State house in Providence explaining to Governor Gina Raimundo why “unconditional welcome” of Syrian Refugees was dangerous:  anti-Semitism. Jacobs assisted by former US Rep.  Pete Hoekstra couldn’t complete his remarks given the outcries from 100 protesters.

Dr. Charles Jacobs, President of Americans for Peace and Tolerance with Former US Rep. Pete Hoekstra State House Rotunda in Providence, February 22, 2016. Source: Americans for Peace and Tolerance

The news service reported the evidence behind Jacobs’ rationale, Citing anti-Semitism; Jewish leader urges Rhode Island to reject Syrian refugees:

We are proud that America is a country of immigrants. We welcome people who come here to join us and bolster our way of life. We do see and we do sympathize with people fleeing war and violence. But an influx of Syrian refugees may pose a significant danger to Rhode Islanders, and especially to the Jewish and certain other communities, specifically gays and women, that exist in Rhode Island.

Jacobs said that amid the national debate on Syrian refugees, “no one has raised…the very serious question of the deeply ingrained hatred of the West and our way of life that is embedded in Syrian cultural values.”

“Then too, over and beyond the threat to all Americans, this migration represents a unique and specific threat to the Jewish community posed by a near genocidal hatred of Jews that is inculcated in all Syrians,” he said. “This animus is taught through Syrian educational intuitions, starting from childhood, and finds continual expression in the broader Syrian culture. Sadly, even Jewish community leaders have failed to take note of this danger. I am here to break this dangerous, politically correct silence.”

Jacobs explained that studies of Syrian school curricula “show that practically every Syrian will have been taught to hate the West and the Jews. This is the sad consequence of growing up under a Ba’athist regime—a violent authoritarian movement with its roots in 1930s European fascism.”

Those studies, according to Jacobs, include: “The schools of Ba’athism: A study of Syrian schoolbooks,” by Meyrav Wurmser via the Middle East Media Research Institute; “Islam in Syrian textbooks: monolithic and nonpluralistic,” by Muhammad Faour via the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace; and “Jews, Zionism and Israel in Syrian school textbooks,” by Dr. Arnon Groiss via the Center for Monitoring the Impact of Peace, among others.

“The Center for Monitoring the Impact of Peace published a report [by Groiss] in 2001 that revealed Syrian school textbooks teach that Jews ‘are portrayed as enemies of Islam since its inception, enemies of all mankind, and enemies of God himself.’ Syrian textbooks teach that, ‘The Holocaust is justified, though its magnitude is exaggerated by the Jews,’” Jacobs noted.

He added a description of the “famous case of [Syrian] defense minister Gen. Mustafa Tlass, who wrote a book titled ‘The Matzah of Zion’ in the 1980s that claims that Jews living in Damascus in 1840 killed two Christians and used their blood in preparing the unleavened bread called matzah. In consequence, since the Jewish religion is one of ‘vicious deviations’ and ‘black hatred against all human kind and religions,’ no Arab country should ever sign a peace treaty with Israel.”

Addressing Gov. Raimondo, Jacobs asked, “Do you really want to welcome hundreds or thousands of people who think that their religious duty is to make jihad, who think that Jews are the sons of monkeys and pigs, or Nazis, and who are believed to kill gentile children to make matzah? We need to heed the lessons of Europe. We are inviting in people from a radicalized culture that rejects tolerance and teaches hatred of women, gays, Christians, Jews, and democracy. Jewish leaders in Europe have spoken about the growing violence against the Jewish community emanating strongly from Muslim immigrants. Sexual assaults and violent anti-Semitism now affect much of western Europe. Before we can admit hundreds of similar refugees, who come from the same deeply disturbing culture, surely we must first gauge the threat they pose and examine the ideas they support.”

What was Jacobs talking about before his free speech was denied by the raging protesters in the rotunda? He was giving chapter and verse of why bringing Syrian refugees to the US would stoke the fires of anti-Semitism. Why, you ask? Because they have been marinated in Jewish hatred under both secular Ba’athist school materials and Muslim Brotherhood doctrine. He cited studies attesting to incitement of Jewish hatred in doctrinal Islam as well as use of ancient blood libels produced in TV series broadcast far and wide during Ramadan.

Hopefully, not all Syrians are predisposed to this, but many have been and still harbor such noxious beliefs. Let us not forget that the Assad regime under the late Hafez gave safe haven to Adolph Eichmann’s deputy, Alois Brunner, who considered Jews as human garbage to be disposed of. Or that Bashar Assad and his Ba’athist minions ‘honored’ former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke in Damascus for spreading his white supremacist hate toward the Zionist controlled government in Jerusalem and Zionist ‘occupied’ America.

Jacobs is concerned because Europe with an influx of millions of Syrian refugees has experienced a major spike in Anti-Semitism. That has caused 700,000 European Jews to seriously consider making Aliyah to Israel or more secure climes, if there are any these days. Jacobs does not hate Muslims. That is reflected in the composition of APT and his alliance with M. Zhudi Jasser and others in the leadership of the Muslim Reform Movement.

So ask Governor Raimondo and Rhode Island voluntary agencies and other American Jewish organizations like HIAS why they are denying Jacobs free speech drawing attention to Syrian historic blood libel and Anti-Semitism. In the case of HIAS, they are making money from processing these Syrians refugees for resettlement here.

Now, if you think that Jacobs is dusting ancient academic studies on Syrian anti-Semitism from the bygone era. Think about his experience in Buffalo shutting down a benighted Synagogue Mosque “twinning program” with participation of Syrian anti-Semitic clerics engaged in classic duplicity.  Here is the story from our February 2011 interview with him Fighting Muslim Brotherhood Lawfare and Rabbinic Fatwas:

We were contacted by a grandmother in Buffalo who told us that her synagogue was twinning with a Muslim group. She had researched on the internet some of the people involved and found them problematic and was seeking help from us. Our APT research director Ilya Feoktistov does superb research. Regarding the Muslim dialogue partners in Buffalo, he found a typical disconnect. On their English websites it was all kumbaya, brotherhood and Abrahamic relationships. However, on their Arabic sites it was quite different. The Jews and Israel were horrible. Ilya prepared a Power Point presentation based on his research. We flew to Buffalo. We met privately with the ADL, the Federation, other Jewish leaders, and school teachers. We held a public meeting with the Jewish leadership and concerned citizens. We had over 40 people in attendance, among them were two of the three Rabbis who had signed on to twin with Mosques under the FFEU program. Ilya presented his documentation. It turned out that the revered mentor of the Muslim partner [in Syria] had hosted Nazis and Farrakhan in his mosque and wrote terrible things about Jews in his book

The protesters at the Rhode Island State House in Providence have no shame shutting down Jacobs’ presentation to Governor Raimundo. If they only knew about the Buffaloed in Buffalo incident and discovery of Syrian Jew hatred do you think might have changed their minds? Doubtful. Kol hakavod to my chaver Charles Jacobs for taking this valued stand in Rhode Island.

Hopefully, this article might be sent to Governor Raimundo and the head of HIAS one of the Volags processing Syrian refugees being sent to 190 communities in America, with thousands more to follow carrying anti-Semitic baggage.

Kol hakavod to my chaver Charles Jacobs for taking this valued stand in Rhode Island.

VIDEO: The Pill Kills — Contraception is Destroying the Faith

The birth control pill, since being approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration, has become the weapon of choice against conception. Among American women who use contraceptives, 28 percent use the Pill — the single most popular form. And when you drill down into the numbers, American Catholic women — they use the Pill at just about the same rate as their non-Catholic counterparts.

The Pill has become a part of the American and Western world landscape, all in an effort to simply have sexual license and consequence-free sex. And thanks to Obamacare, the pill now has an enshrined place in law. Employers must provide the Pill for their employees through company health insurance plans or face fines and penalties.

The only exceptions to this are religious employers, but exactly who qualifies for that limited definition of “religious” is what the U.S. Supreme Court will be hearing arguments on and deciding in a short while.

What is known is that the Pill comes with all kinds of hidden dangers and side-effects, and no one really wants to talk about them.

We know its death-dealing spiritually. We know that its death-dealing biologically for the unborn — not just preventing conception, but also causing the newly conceived to actually be killed. Estimations are that the 60 million deaths in the United States caused by surgical abortion since 1973 pale in comparison to the deaths brought about by the birth control pill.

Moreover, women themselves are in lethal danger, however limited that may be. The question which logically arises is: Is a life of sexual license really worth your life? Unfortunately, we know that for many “liberated” women, the answer is yes, it is.

But what is perhaps most shocking in all this is the silence of the bishops on this matter of the birth control pill. For a gang of men who are constantly going on about the need to avert the dangers of fake, manmade climate change to simply fall silent on the very real deaths of tens of millions of small humans owing to the birth control pill has no explanation.

They will not support Church teaching on contraception, certainly not enough to voice their support for it and declare the evils – spiritual and physical — of the birth control pill is contributing to that evil. What is most frightening for the souls of the bishops who have made a career of keeping silent in the face of evil is the peril their own souls are in.

Their job is to teach, and through that teaching sanctify their sheep so that their souls can be saved. Short of doing their job, they are on the path to eternal damnation. But a bishop’s being damned — what a horrible thought — is nothing new. We have Judas as the first example; but we even have St. John Chrysostom warning that bishops not doing their job is their eternal undoing.

Why do the bishops not do what they are supposed to do? Where is their fear of God? Their silence imperils the souls of tens of millions — and it absolutely falls to them to witness to the truths of the Church.

Contraception, the birth control pill — that little pill — who but the diabolical could imagine that that would be the undoing of so many bishops and the cause of their damnation?

The deadliness of the Pill is the subject of this week’s “Mic’d Up” that you can view by clicking the link. The birth control pill is the reason hundreds of parishes have and continue to be closed. It’s the reason vocations have dried up. The Pill has all but killed the Faith in the West, exactly as its inventors had hoped and planned. The Pill has brought nothing but death, and the guardians of life have refused to attack it — and their silence will bring them death in their turn.

A couple of years ago, while he was president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic bishops, Cdl. Timothy Dolan was being interviewed by NBC and made the astonishing claim that, at the time, he had been a priest for 37 years and had almost never preached on the evil of contraception.

In a separate interview around the same time, again as leader of the U.S. bishops and speaking for them and himself, he said they had all grown “gun shy” about teaching on the issue of contraception and sexual immorality. Talk about condemned out of your own mouth.

Contraception is contracepting the Faith — and the only men on earth who can speak about it are instead content to speak of immigration and carbon emissions. They need to open their eyes or close them forever. Souls are being led astray — and not by the culture but by the very men

Melissa Click: One Bad Professor Fired, Thousands More To Go

Melissa Click, the University of Missouri communications professor whom videos show obstructed the press and assaulted a student during last fall’s social justice protests, has finally been fired.

Click was acting as de facto communications director for the radical group “Concerned Student 1950” that, like many groups across the nation, was accusing, with no evidence, their campus administration with “systemic racism.” Click inflamed an emotionally charged situation on November 9 when word came that the president and chancellor had resigned for allegedly allowing racist symbols and slurs on and off-campus.

When student journalist Tim Tai, on assignment for ESPN, waded into the campus encampment with his camera, he was blocked by Click and others, including her husband, religion professor Richard Callahan, and Greek life administrator Janna Bassler, who identified herself as “Concerned Student of 1950.” Click, identifying herself as “communications faculty,” responded to Tai’s repeated claim to First Amendment rights by stating, “I get that argument all the time, but you need to go.” Thanks to Mark Schierbecker, another student filming the confrontation, Click’s angry face as she called for some “muscle” from the mob went viral.

Applications and donations plummeted. On February 24, 2016, after release and a lengthy investigation of an earlier video of Click’s confrontation with police during homecoming, the Board of Curators fired Click. They did so because no one on campus would start the process. Concerned Student 1950 accused the board of submitting to threats from lawmakers to cut the budget.

Lifelong Sinecures Foster Abuse of Authority

Thousands of professors, however, work without fear and do not feel bound to any job description by their employers: taxpayers and tuition payers. Compared to most working Americans, they enjoy incredible job security, comfortable compensations, and easy working conditions. In exchange, they abuse their authority by imposing their political views on students.

They may not physically intimidate students, but they ridicule dissenting students in class, give politically loaded assignments, and punish with grades. Their scholarship follows politically tangential lines like Click’s, which involves studies of Lady Gaga and the pornographic novel “Fifty Shades of Gray.” (For several years, many courses in sociology and freshman composition have been dedicated to Lady Gaga.)

Click’s colleagues, including Callahan, Bassler (who enjoyed a month off during administrative leave), and Schierbecker’s German professor, who gave his students permission to leave class to attend the protest, are still employed. In contrast, my semester-to-semester contracts at state schools stipulated that I would fulfill a certain number of “contact hours” with students.

Trying to save her job, Click made two “apologies.” In the first, on November 10, 2015, Click did not admit to violating students’ First Amendment rights, but only regret for her “language and strategies” and for the way her actions “shifted attention away from the students’ campaign for justice.”

In fact, she began by offering “both apology and context,” calling her actions “mistakes” during a “historic day at MU—full of emotion and confusion.” Another apology the following day mentioned only Click’s impact on the School of Journalism and the Chancellor’s Student Publications Committee, where she had advised the student newspaper.

We Don’t Pay You to Violate Our Rights

More than 100 members of the Missouri Assembly saw through these self-serving deflections and on December 18 sent a letter to the chancellor demanding that Click be fired. Acknowledging the possibility of “some value” in “pop culture studies,” the legislators also conveyed their constituents’ concerns about Click’s “research” and expressed their disgust that Click “spent her paid time off from teaching [for research] to assault students, harass citizens of Missouri, and work in contravention of our Constitution.”

This action spurred 116 of Click’s colleagues to sign a letter in her defense. Several (Elisa Glick, English and Women’s and Gender Studies; Srirupa Prasad, Sociology and Women’s and Gender Studies; Rebecca Martinez, Women’s and Gender Studies; Karen Piper, Christopher Okonkwo, April Langley, and Clenora Hudson-Weems, English; and Callahan) were featured in the 2009 book, “One-Party Classroom,” in which David Horowitz and Jacob Laksin evaluated twelve of the nation’s most politicized institutions.

The signatories, bewailing the “ad hominem attacks on, and harassment of, Click personally” in the form of emails (actually quite mild), vouched for Click’s “outstanding record of teaching and research.” They echoed her own rationalizations by asserting that her actions “constitute at most a regrettable mistake, one that came, moreover, at the end of several weeks during which Click served alongside other faculty and staff as an ally to students who were protesting what they saw as their exclusion from and isolation at the University.”

The letter brings up troubling questions. Who were these “other faculty and staff” who served as students’ “allies,” and why should faculty be “allying” with one group of students? What about the power differential between professors and students (as with sexual relationships)? Is there no concern about such professors’ objectivity in grading students?

Let’s Apply Some More Double Standards

Amazingly the faculty claimed that Click was “wronged by the media” and called on the university to defend her “first amendment rights of protest and her freedom to act as a private citizen.” Ben Trachtenberg, associate law professor and chair of the Columbia campus’s Faculty Council on University Policy, even said Click’s actions were like “a lot of little scuffles and shoving” that don’t lead to the involvement of the criminal justice system.

Joining in was the American Association of University Professors. President Rudy Fichtenbaum called lawmakers’ demands for Click’s termination “a real overreach.” He told the Washington Post that Click deserved due process, a hearing by a committee of faculty. Invoking academic freedom protected by tenure against “outside interference with the running of the university,” he asserted lawmakers have no right to question Click’s use of her research time or bring up their constituents’ concerns about her research.

“Legislators are not experts in that field,” Fichtenbaum declared; “they don’t know anything about that kind of research. Nor do I,” he said, adding, “I’m an economist. I wouldn’t presume to judge her research.”

Yet this economist feels qualified to defend a colleague on constitutional grounds. Nor did he question Click’s own wandering over to fields outside her own, namely to civil rights, criminal justice, and the law, presumably the concerns of the student group. Nor do her academic peers, in fields of literature, religion, and communications, when it comes to such issues.

Check Your Privilege, University Profs

When news of her firing came, supporters doubled down: at the faculty council meeting, no one supported her firing. In fact, faculty expressed concern about how the decision would impact “the ability of academics to participate in activism”! Fellow professors signed another letter of protest. The AAUP asked that her termination be rescinded, then threatened an investigation and “censure.”

What we have is a group of employees assuming the right to use company time in any way they want. Their outrage at outside scrutiny shows a level of privilege that no other profession enjoys. Attorneys, doctors, engineers, or manufacturers, all can be sued, but a professor who cheats students preparing for communications careers by teaching Lady Gaga cannot.

As Click and the earlier case of ethnic studies professor Ward Churchill showed, it is nigh impossible to fire a professor these days. Only the most egregious cases involving assault or plagiarism get that far.

I have seen this on the campuses where I have taught. One I have described before was a February 4, 2012, “teach-in” at the Georgia State University College of Education, designed to indoctrinate education students and teachers about using materials from the Zinn Education Project to protest Arizona’s legislation banning curricular materials that promoted overthrowing the U.S. government and immigration laws. At the end of the day, as participants made pledges to implement lessons learned, Georgia State University professor Jennifer Esposito promised to give “extra points” to students in her “Race, Class and Gender in Education” class for considering specific immigration bills in their policy projects and sending hand-written letters to legislators opposing immigration enforcement.

On March 19, 2012, I provided testimony about Esposito’s pledge to the Georgia Judiciary Non-Civil Committee. A member of the pro-illegal-alien crowd packing the room shouted out that I was “lying,” that she had been there. On March 30, 2012, I posted an incriminating video of Esposito. It shows Esposito promising to bribe her students to lobby legislators. Yet she is still an associate professor in the Department of Educational Policy Studies, and an affiliate member in the Alonzo A. Crim Center for Urban Educational Excellence and the Institute for Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.

According to her profile, she has served as a program evaluator for Teacher Quality Grant projects. In 2013, the year after making the “pledge,” she was placed on the University Senate, and serves on several university-level committees, among them the University Senate Diversity Committee and the Educational Leadership Search Committee.

The “actions” taken against Esposito, in response to my testimony and the videotape, were meaningless. A letter on April 16, 2012, from the university president to the committee chair stated the university attorney had found that “when the professor actually made the offer of extra credit to students on February 23, 2012, she informed them that she would assign extra credit to students who wrote letters either in support of or opposition to the legislators.”

The president and provost had instructed “all deans and vice presidents of their obligations regarding political activities so this information could be shared with their respective areas”; the dean—the same person sponsoring and emceeing the “teach-in”—“spoke with [Esposito] about the matter and provided her with a memo reminding her of her responsibilities under the policies of the Board of Regents as well as state and federal law regarding political activities.”

Ruin Society and Young People’s Prospects, Get Promoted

On May 7, 2012, I received a letter from the Georgia Board of Regents assuring me they “condemn the use of University System facilities and resources by any employee to further the employee’s personal political agenda. Such use is a violation of our students’ trust as well as a violation of Board of Regents policies governing political activities.” In the intervening four years Esposito has continued in the path blessed by the dean in neglecting real teaching for spurious scholarship advancing a political agenda.

The last time I know of when a college president simply fired a professor was in 1963. Albert Manley, the first African-American president of the black women’s college Spelman, fired Howard Zinn. The reason he gave was “insubordination.” Zinn had been using his post since 1956 to radicalize students, in defiance of his superiors and parents, by encouraging students to ignore campus rules regarding chapel attendance, dress codes, and curfews, and by taking them to pro-Soviet protests and events. In a 1960 essay for The Nation, Zinn contemptuously called Spelman a “finishing school” and bragged he had transformed it into a “finishing school for protest.” The AAUP is still smarting from Albert Manley’s “autocratic” actions, according to a blog post.

Zinn obviously was not doing his job of teaching history. He was disrupting the campus’s normal operations and putting young black female students in harm’s way. Unfortunately, after his firing Zinn taught at Boston University until he retired in 1988. He also wrote the bestselling “A People’s History of the United States,” which has been adopted at all grade levels despite the common bipartisan assessment displayed by the title of David Greenberg’s 2013 New Republic article: “Agit-Prof, Howard Zinn’s influential mutilations of American history.”

In 2013, when then-governor Mitch Daniels questioned the use of Zinn’s history for a summer institute for Indiana high school teachers, the Indiana AAUP Conference charged him with censorship. In response, professors held a Zinn read-in at Purdue and started a Zinn memorial graduate scholarship fund.

It’s time to break the stranglehold and demand accountability from professors—especially at publicly funded institutions. We need to bring back the idea that professors, like everyone else, have job descriptions and that they answer to their employers. We could start a new movement on behalf of students who want to learn, the kinds of students studying in the library and being interrupted by protestors last fall. We could call it Concerned Student 1963.

Does Immigration Mean The End Of Western Civilization?

That is the title of an excellent discussion by John Daniel Davidson at The Federalist (hat tip: Bob).

Invasion of Europe news….

Novelist Jean Raspail

Davidson gives readers a good summary of the on-going crisis in Europe as hundreds of thousands of migrants from Africa and the Middle East continue to pour into the continent.  He then dares to mention that “racist” 1973 book, The Camp of the Saints.  If you have not read it, you must! But, I warn you, its message will hang over you like a dark threatening storm cloud (that never goes away!).

The Federalist (emphasis mine):

Europe is more than a year into the largest migrant crisis since the Second World War. More than a million have made their way to Germany alone over the past year. Some are refugees and asylum-seekers from Syria and Iraq, but it now appears that a significant number, as much as 60 percent, are economic migrants from North Africa, Afghanistan, and the Middle East, simply seeking better prospects in Europe.

The European Union, thanks to its common border policy, is overwhelmed and paralyzed…

Europeans leaders are of course trying to downplay the severity of the crisis even as its disruptive effects become impossible to ignore. On New Year’s Eve in cities across Germany, gangs of Arab and North African men, some of whom were later discovered to be asylum-seekers, robbed and sexually assaulted scores of women. Before police had completed their investigation, the European Commission declared there was “no link” between the migrant crisis and the attacks, the incidents were merely “a matter of public order.” Fearing a xenophobic backlash, the commission proclaimed itself “the voice of reason.”

On The Camp of the Saints, Davidson says: “At the heart of the novel is a moral question: Is the West willing to defend itself?”

The Camp of the Saints

All of this calls to mind a 1973 novel by French writer Jean Raspail—The Camp of the Saints, an apocalyptic tale about the collapse of European civilization. Much of it could be lifted from the news coming out of Europe. In the book, one million impoverished Indians [Raspail had only the home continent of the invaders wrong!—ed] make their way by boat from the Ganges to the shores of southern France with no intention of adopting French ways; they come simply to claim for themselves what Europeans have and they do not.

Unwilling to turn away the Ganges fleet for what they claim is universal brotherhood and compassion—but is in fact Western guilt—the government and all the country’s major institutions agree the migrants must be welcomed as a matter of moral duty and penance for France’s past sins. When the armada finally makes landfall, French society breaks down, exhausted and acquiescent, passively colonized by an unarmed army of castaways.

You decide: Does mass migration mean the end of Western Civilization? And, if the answer is yes! are we willing to defend ourselves?

If you are American, I think you are! Europeans? I’m not so sure.

VIDEO: Canada in Crisis — Muslims rally in ‘support of terrorists’ call Israel ‘a terrorist state’

Rise Canada posted a video showing Muslims rallying in Toronto. Rise Canada states:

In front of Eaton Center in dntn [sic] Toronto, is an Islamic info booth. Some of the people from that booth brought in a huge mob of Muslims today and held up signs attacking Israel and praising terrorists killed by Israeli armed forces.. At the 1.13 mark the sign states that “Israel is a terrorist state”.

Afterwards they shouted Death to ISRAEL and ISRAEL IS ILLEGAL TERRORIST STATE. As usual, the police did nothing and seemed to fully support the Muslim terrorists.

CIJnews reports:

Two Canadian newspapers in the Greater Toronto Area have reported with unconcealed sympathy on the solidarity rally with the Palestinian “martyrs” (شهداء) of the al-Quds Intifada a.k.a the Knife Intifada.

On Saturday, February 20, 2016 several dozens of anti-Israel activists, including board members of the Mississauga-based Palestine House and the radical left Independent Jewish Voices (IJV), held a rally at at Yonge and Dundas Square in downtown Toronto protesting against “Israel’s ongoing policy of executing Palestinians.”

The protesters, including children of senior activists affiliated with the Palestine House, held pictures of the so-called “martyrs” of Palestinian al-Quds/ Knife Intifada, a relentless wave of terrorist attacks aimed at Israeli Jews since autumn 2015. The Palestine House accused Israel of “executing” these Palestinian “martyrs.”

According to the Palestinian Gaza-based al-Quds Center for Research, from October 2015 to February 2016 Palestinians murdered 33 Israelis and injured 440 Israelis in 120 stabbing attacks, 90 shooting attacks, 29 car ramming attacks, 1,121 explosive charges and firebombing attacks and 3,321 rock throwing attacks. In addition, 50 stabbing attacks were thwarted.

GOP Establishment Loves Losers

The great divide of the GOP electorate started all the way back in 1992, when Republican Pat Buchanan and political outsider Ross Perot decided to challenge incumbent George H.W. Bush for the presidency. Bush managed to hang on to the GOP nomination, but Perot was able to take 19% of the vote as an Independent in the general election, allowing Bill Clinton to win the White House with only 43% of the popular vote.

The GOP electorate has been systematically divided into competing factions ever since. The GOP ran Sen. Bob Dole against Clinton in 1996. Dole and Clinton were essentially tied, 49.2% of the popular vote each… except Perot grabbed 8.4% of the GOP vote, allowing Clinton to win re-election and a second term.

Since 2000, the GOP establishment has been dead set on flooding the field with too many prospects and picking losers for their GOP presidential nominees. The presumed GOP favorite in 2000 was originally Sen. John McCain.

The 2000 GOP Primary field

  1. John McCain
  2. Steve Forbes
  3. Gary Bauer
  4. Orrin Hatch
  5. Lamar Alexander
  6. Pat Buchanan
  7. Elisabeth Dole
  8. John Kasich
  9. Dan Quayle
  10. Bob Smith
  11. Herman Cain
  12. George W. Bush
  13. Alan Keyes

By mid-way through the primaries, everyone had dropped out except Bush, McCain and Keyes. Bush went on to win the GOP with 62% of the GOP vote, but the fracture in the GOP electorate would show in the general election when Democrat Al Gore won the popular vote by a half-million votes, but narrowly lost the Electoral College vote, making George W. Bush President.

In the aftermath of September 11, 2001, the GOP was much more united behind Bush for a period, as the nation recovered from the worst act of war on American soil since Pearl Harbor. So, Bush defeated John Kerry 50.7% to 48.3%…. The political divisions in the nation were galvanized and divisions in the GOP were about to get much worse.

By 2008, GOP divisions would become insurmountable. The GOP field…

  1. John McCain
  2. Mike Huckabee
  3. Mitt Romney
  4. Ron Paul
  5. Fred Thompson
  6. Alan Keyes
  7. Duncan Hunter
  8. Rudy Giuliani
  9. Sam Brownback
  10. Jim Gilmore
  11. Tom Tancredo
  12. Tommy Thompson

McCain won the GOP nomination with only 47.3% of the GOP vote. McCain then lost to a totally unknown nobody from nowhere with a blank résumé, Barack Obama, by a 52.9% to 45.7% margin… the GOP was perfecting the art of losing…

“A house divided against itself cannot stand.”

In 2012, the worst President in U.S. history was re-elected for a second term. Again, it is due to the fact that the GOP establishment was totally committed to running another loser, Mitt Romney.

The 2012 GOP field

  1. Mitt Romney
  2. Rick Santorum
  3. Ron Paul
  4. Newt Gingrich
  5. Buddy Roemer
  6. Rick Perry
  7. Tim Pawlenty
  8. Gary Johnson
  9. Michelle Bachmann
  10. Herman Cain
  11. Thaddeus McCotter
  12. Jon Huntsman

Romney won the GOP nomination with only 40.7% of the GOP vote… a worse GOP showing than even John McCain in 2008. As a result, Romney went on to lose to Barack Obama in the general election, 51.1% to 47.2%…

Enter 2016…

  1. Scott Walker
  2. Donald Trump
  3. Ted Cruz (ineligible)
  4. Marco Rubio (ineligible)
  5. Bobby Jindal (ineligible) (endorsed ineligible Rubio)
  6. Mike Huckabee
  7. John Kasich
  8. Ben Carson
  9. Jeb Bush
  10. Rand Paul
  11. Chris Christie (Endorsed Donald Trump)
  12. Carly Fiorina
  13. Rick Perry (endorsed ineligible Cruz)
  14. Rick Santorum (endorsed ineligible Rubio)
  15. Jim Gilmore
  16. Lindsey Graham (endorsed Bush)
  17. George Pataki (endorsed ineligible Rubio)

The GOP field is more divided than ever, and so is the GOP electorate.

As of today, Trump leads the race having won 12 state primaries, 3,596,663 votes and 391 delegates.

Ineligible Cruz is running second having won 6 states, 2,994,300 votes and 304 delegates.

Everyone is out of the race now, except Trump, Cruz, Kasich and Rubio…

The GOP establishment 1st choice was Jeb Bush, who was forced out of the race having received only 1.7% of the vote… a clear losing choice by the GOP establishment.

Then the GOP establishment shifted behind ineligible “anchor baby” Marco Rubio and their endorsement sunk the Rubio campaign instantly, like throwing a boat anchor to a drowning man… Marco will soon be forced to leave the race with only 10.11% of the votes secured.

That leaves business man Donald Trump and ineligible Canadian at birth Ted Cruz in the race for the GOP nomination. Continuing their trend of picking losers, I’m certain the GOP establishment will quickly endorse 2016 GOP establishment loser #3, Ted Cruz, in their effort to stop the conservative grassroots revolt that is the Trump Campaign. They are certain to toss Cruz a boat anchor any minute now…

Not only has the GOP elite made a habit of picking total losers, they have now perfected the art. They are no longer just running unqualified RINO losers like McCain and Romney, they have reached a new low by running totally ineligible frauds like Cruz and Rubio in their effort to throw the election to Democrats.

The Democrats see the U.S. Constitution as just a relic from history no longer of any use or value to our beloved Republic. Clearly, the GOP establishment now agrees with that view, running ineligible frauds like Cruz and Rubio on the GOP ticket as if the GOP and DNC are now one in the same, both destructive of the Constitutional Republic and favoring a globalist agenda.

And then there is Trump…

The GOP elite is in full scale panic mode… dragging old losers like Romney out of the dust bin and propping them up on camera to float the idea of a brokered convention, or maybe even a late entry to the race by either Romney or House Speaker Paul Ryan, both of whom have been rejected by the GOP electorate before…

They thought that getting Rubio to act like a preschooler in a sandbox on the debate stage would derail Trump… but it only served to sink Rubio.

They thought getting Ted, the biggest lying fraud on the GOP debate stage, to call Trump a liar and fraud would work. But it only made the Trump revolution even more angry and more committed to defeating the GOP establishment by any means necessary.

They thought getting their RNC friends, Beck, Levin, Napolitano, Limbaugh, O’Reilly and Kelly, in the so-called “conservative media” to attack Trump, to set “the Donald” up in “gotcha” questions at every debate, stacking the debate audiences with pro-establishment anti-Trump crowds to scream and boo in the background like a Jerry Springer audience, might work….

But no… the more they do to derail Trump, the more the tsunami of conservative anger grows…

How can they possibly miss the message at this point? The GOP establishment says “anyone but Trump,” going so far as to tell voters “it doesn’t matter who you vote for, as long as it is against Trump” – “even if you have to vote for Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton!”

The emperor has no clothes now…

People are not supporting Trump in droves because of who Trump is… They support him because of who he isn’t…. He isn’t “them.”

The establishment who has given conservative voters loser after loser after loser, no longer has any influence with conservative voters, and neither do their minions in the so-called “conservative media.” Trump supporters aren’t just voting for Trump… they are voting against everyone else with any connection to Washington D.C. or the D.C. elite on their résumé.

Unlike Democrat voters who don’t know and don’t care what a “natural born Citizen” is… Conservative voters do know and very much care. They are totally insulted and infuriated by the moronic effort of GOP establishment folks to pass off a Canadian from birth until May 2014 as a “natural born Citizen” of the United States, eligible for the Oval Office.

Trump backers are sick and tired of being sick and tired…

They are ready to take to the streets to stop Obama leftists from finishing off the United States… but they are ten-times as angry with D.C. Republicans, all of them, for allowing Obama & Co. to destroy our country without any effort by D.C. Republicans to stop him, much less hold Obama and his entire evil criminal cabal accountable.

Trump backers are the “conservative base” of the Republican Party. They want control of their party back, in order to retake control of their country…. And that is what scares the hell out of every D.C. establishment insider, both sides of the aisle.

The jig is up, as they say… The people (at least Trump supporters) have finally figured out that everyone in D.C. today should be on the unemployment line tomorrow morning. That includes the two Senate Republicans who have defrauded millions of American voters out of their money and votes, Cruz and Rubio.

I hope they throw everything including the kitchen sink at Trump… because the more they do it, the more the people rise up against them. No matter who or what Trump himself may be, one thing should be very clear to everyone in America by now….

Trump represents the conservative core of America…. And they mean business this time! It’s time to get on the bus, before you find yourselves under the bus!

NOTE: This is NOT a personal endorsement of Trump, as I do NOT endorse candidates. But this is my endorsement of the people waking up and standing up against the D.C. establishment that has been allowed to destroy our country from within for far too long, from both political parties!

Facing a Crucial Election Year: Will Traditional Values Survive?

Jim DeMint: Conservatives Win When They Run on Conservative Ideas

Rep. Jim Jordan Thinks It’s Time to ‘Do a Conservative Budget.’ Here’s Why.

Bradenton Herald supports Jew Hating Terrorist Supporters over 23-year Decorated Army Veteran

I recently had the opportunity to be part of a panel hosted by the Manatee Tiger Bay Club. The topic was “Syrian Refugees: Open the Gate or Lock the Door?”

The Bradenton Herald did an article on the event.  Kate Irby was the reporter at the event and posted a column titled “Syrian refugees prompt controversial discussion at Manatee Tiger Bay meeting.”

The article is in large part about Laila Abdelaziz, the legislative and government affairs director for the Council for American Islamic Relations – Florida (CAIR-FL)  and her boss Hassan Shibly, Director of CAIR-FL. The article correctly points out that Shibly is a Muslim migrant from Syria but fails to point out Abdelaziz is a Muslim migrant from Ramallah, a Palestinian city in the central West Bank of Israel.

After the panel discussion Irby interviewed Shibly and Abdelaziz, but not the author. I thought this strange at the time, but now understand why after reading her article. The video clip included with the article are comments by Abdelaziz only. No other panelist’s comments are posted, nor is the full video of the event.

What Irby, her editor and the publisher of the Bradenton-Herald failed to do is research he backgrounds of CAIR-FL, Hassan Shibly and Laila Abdelaziz.

CAIR remains, according to the FBI,  an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial. CAIR has been designated as a terrorist organization by the United Arab Emirates. Neither of these facts are reported on by Irby.

According to Discover the Networks:

CAIR was co-founded in 1994 by Nihad Awad, Omar Ahmad, and Rafeeq Jaber, all of whom had close ties to the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), which was established by senior Hamas operative Mousa Abu Marzook and functioned as Hamas’ public relations and recruitment arm in the United States. Awad and Ahmad previously had served, respectively, as IAP’s Public Relations Director and President. Thus it can be said that CAIR was an outgrowth of IAP.

CAIR opened its first office in Washington, DC, with the help of a $5,000 donation from the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF), a self-described charity founded by Mousa Abu Marzook.

CAIR is a Hamas (Muslim Brotherhood) affiliated organization. The United Kingdom designated the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) a terrorist organization in 2015. Lead by Senator Ted Cruz, legislation has been introduced by the U.S. Congress to also designate the MB a terrorist organization, which would in effect designate CAIR because of its ties to Hamas, a terrorist organization.

Laila Abdelaziz (left) and Ali Akin Kurnaz

A quick bit of research on Laila Abdelaziz. Joe Kaufman writes in FrontPageMag:

On January 9, 2015, on the official website of the Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a press release was posted discussing the group’s hiring of two individuals to its staff, Laila Abdelaziz and Ali Akin Kurnaz. According to the release, “Laila Abdelaziz joined the CAIR Florida team as the Legislative and Government Affairs Director, and Ali Kurnaz joined [the] CAIR team as its Communications Coordinator.”

In January 2010, during a town hall meeting for Barack Obama, Ramallah-born Laila Abdelaziz denounced Israel in a question she posed to the President. “[W]hy have we not condemned Israel and Egypt’s human rights violations against the occupied Palestinian people, and yet we continue supporting them financially with billions of dollars from our tax dollars?” she belligerently asked.

In November 2012, when Israel invaded Gaza, in order to stop Hamas from continuing to target her citizens with rockets – over 2000 rockets in less than one year – Abdelaziz tweeted, “Don’t worry ya Gaza, we’re working hard for you in Florida.”

This year, the extremism of Abdelaziz has continued unabated. In January, she retweeted threatening quotes made against Israel by the Secretary General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah.

As well, she described an interfaith initiative between Jews and Muslims as “flawed” and “comical,” and just one week ago, she labeled an article written by a Muslim girl about the girl’s recent trip to Israel, which was sponsored by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), as “ridiculous.” The girl, Aliya Manjee, describes herself as “pro-Palestine,” but to Abdelaziz merely visiting Israel is a crime.

Hassan Shibly according to Kaufman in his column “Muslim Leader Who Said Israel is ‘Enemy of God’ invited to White House” states:

Shibly is an admirer of controversial Islamic lecturer Khalid Yasin who, during a 2005 interview, stated the following about non-Muslims and homosexuals: “There’s no such thing as a Muslim having a non-Muslim friend. If you prefer the clothing of the kafirs over the clothing of the Muslims, most of those names that’s on most of those clothings is faggots, homosexuals and lesbians.”

Fox News host Megyn Kelly recently pointed out on her show that, for at least four years, Shibly has referred to himself as a “fan” of Yasin and/or labeled Yasin an “interest” on his personal Facebook page. This, after Shibly had been warned years before about Yasin.

In December 2004, Shibly was detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, while crossing over the Canadian border, following a conference he had attended in Toronto. The conference was ‘Reviving the Islamic Spirit,’ and according to the Investigative Project on Terrorism, it featured a number of extremist speakers including notorious anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan and neo-Nazi William Baker.

It is interesting that Irby, her editor and the publisher of the Bradenton-Herald appear to be taking sides on the issue of Syrian migrants, the side of CAIR-FL, Hassan Shibly and Laila Abdelaziz.

Near the end of her article Irby writes, “Shibly said the things Swier said about Muslims were disturbing and hurtful.”

Perhaps Irby should consider the families of those slaughtered in San Bernardino and see if they are disturbed and hurt by their loved ones murdered by two Islamic State soldiers of Allah?

Can you say Irby and the Bradenton Herald are displaying political correctness? We report, you decide.

Here’s Where Things Stand One Year Into Net Neutrality

One year after the FCC tossed out a successful regulatory policy that left a light touch on the Internet, allowing it to transform how we communicate, shop, and run our businesses, let’s see what has happened and where we’re headed.

Here are 4 things we know:

  1. Investment in Internet infrastructure is basically flat.
  2. There is a paper trail of how the FCC was bulldozed to take the Title II route by the White House.
  3. Congress is working on legislation.
  4. The fate of the regulation rests with the Judicial Branch.

Flat Internet Investment

In a 2015 paper, Robert Shapiro of the Georgetown Center for Business and Public Policy and Kevin Hassett of the American Enterprise Institute predicted that heavy-handed Net Neutrality will reduce communications infrastructure investment.

That prediction seems to be panning out.

Hal Singer, a senior fellow at the Progressive Policy Institute, found that capital expenditures (capex) for the top Internet Service Providers (ISP) decreased slightly in 2015:

It’s important to put this finding in context: According to USTelecom, which uses a larger sample of ISPs, broadband capex increased by 8.7 percent in 2013 (from $69 billion to $75 billion), and by 4.0 percent in 2014 (from $75 billion to $78 billion). Those were sizable gains. (Across the twelve ISPs in my sample, the increase in capex was slightly above four percent in 2014.)

Singer looks at this data and concludes:

This is not to suggest that Title II solely caused capital accumulation to stagnate. Several factors could be at play. But when investment theory is corroborated by evidence, as it is here, it is reasonable to infer that reclassification of ISPs as Title II common carriers was not a good thing for investment.

Speaking at the Heritage Foundation, FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai said, “The Obama administration has now overseen the first-ever reduction in year-over-year investment by major ISPs that happened outside a recession, one which ‘just happens to coincide with the Title II era.’”

The White House Bullied the “Independent” FCC

In order to impose Net Neutrality, the FCC reclassified Internet providers by regulating them as common carriers and treating the Internet like a 20th Century phone network.

How the FCC went down this route is interesting. The FCC is supposed to be an independent federal agency, but a report from the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee finds it caved into President Barack Obama’s wish to impose Net Neutrality.

Documents and interviews with FCC staff piece together a timeline of an agency doing an about-faceafter being pressured by the White House, The Hill reports:

Culling together emails from late 2014, the Senate committee — led by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) — concluded that the FCC was heading in one direction to draft a hybrid plan, which would use strong authority to regulate the back end of the Internet but not for the consumer-facing side.

But after private meetings with White House staff and a public statement from the president urging strong rules under Title II, the FCC paused its work and then shifted direction. The report concluded the shift caught many career agency officials off guard and ultimately led the commission to push back a December 2014 vote it was planning.

The report confirms what The Wall Street Journal reported in February 2015, that the White House “thwarted” FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler’s alternative broadband regulation plan:

In November, the White House’s top economic adviser dropped by the Federal Communications Commission with a heads-up for the agency’s chairman, Tom Wheeler. President Barack Obama was ready to unveil his vision for regulating high-speed Internet traffic.

The specifics came four days later in an announcement that blindsided officials at the FCC. Mr. Obama said the Internet should be overseen as a public utility, with the “strongest possible rules” forcing broadband providers such as AT&T Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc. to treat all Internet traffic equally.

The president’s words swept aside more than a decade of light-touch regulation of the Internet and months of work by Mr. Wheeler toward a compromise. On Wednesday, Mr. Wheeler lined up behind Mr. Obama, announcing proposed rules to ensure that the Internet “remains open, now and in the future, for all Americans,” according to an op-ed by Mr. Wheeler in Wired.

In addition, the report finds that some FCC professional career staff worried the regulatory process that resulted in Net Neutrality didn’t abide by the proper public notice-and-comment process required under the Administrative Procedures Act.

Congress Gets in on the Act

Congress, which never passed Net Neutrality legislation, isn’t sitting still.

Two piecemeal approaches working their way through the House of Representatives are one that would exempt small business ISPs from Net Neutrality transparency rules. Another, the No Rate Regulation of Broadband Internet Access Act (H.R. 2666), would prevent  the FCC from regulating the rates of ISPs.

In the Senate, Commerce Chairman John Thune (R-S.D.) plans to work on a more comprehensive billhe hopes can win bipartisan support.

Fate Lies in Federal Courts

Federal courts will have their say on Net Neutrality’s fate. An appeals court heard arguments in December 2015, and we await a decision. The U.S. Chamber submitted an amicus brief asking the court to overturn the FCC’s Net Neutrality decision. Depending on the outcome, the Supreme Court could end up hearing the case.

By the Numbers: Its a Two Man Race for the GOP Nomination

I have said that Americans will know who will win the Republican nomination for President by March 15th. It now appears that the race is down to two men: Donald J. Trump and Senator Ted Cruz. Neither of these candidates is favored by the GOP establishment (GOPe). Both  are considered outsiders and outliers.

Trump and Cruz are men fundamentally detached from the main body of the GOPe.
