PODCAST: On Trump, Energy Policy and the Moral Case for Fossil Fuels

Last week I was interviewed on the Reason.com podcast by leading libertarian thinker Nick Gillespie. The subject was the new administration’s energy policy–and, more broadly, what the right energy policy is.

What [Trump] has said about energy…is the best of any president since Reagan.

The interview was supposed to last 20 minutes but it ended up lasting an hour. Nick asked great questions and we covered some ground I haven’t covered in other interviews.

This morning I received an email from Piotr Jankowski, managing editor of a Polish-language news website in Warsaw, telling me about an article they had just posted about me, my work, and my recent arrest at GMU by the politically correct campus police. The article was titled, Persecuted: in USSR for anti-communism, in USA for anti-Islamism.

Surfing their site, it didn’t take long to discover close to a dozen People’s Cube images and parodies by me and other Cubists from several years back, translated into Polish.

Since my grandfather was Polish, we had a Polish dictionary and a language manual in the family library. Polish is also close enough to my native Russian and Ukrainian, so with some practice I was able to read Polish magazines, which were more interesting than the Soviet ones.

As a kid, I loved the Polish satirical magazine Szpilki. It wasn’t widely available and their cartoons were often a lot more sexually charged than those in the Soviet print media, so my parents tried to keep them out of my sight. But seeing just one issue was enough to make me wonder why such things didn’t exist in the Soviet Union. It was possibly then that I first experienced adult thoughts about the existence of censorship. Seeing those magazines today wouldn’t probably impress me that much, but at the time they turned me into a thought-criminal. I realized that a world without censorship was more fun to live in.

Granted, Poland was a reluctant Soviet satellite with heavily censored press. And yet Polish movies and books seemed more honest and revealing in just about anything, from sex to politics. Apparently the Poles enjoyed a little less censorship and a little more freedom that we in the USSR did. It was logical to conclude that if a little less censorship meant a little more fun, a world without any censorship whatsoever would be a blast. And that world existed just west of Poland – in Europe, America, and the rest of what we call Western societies.

Ever since I imagined a world without censorship, I wanted to live in it. My own country began to feel less like the Motherland and more like an obstacle to freedom. As a teenager, whenever the Motherland’s embrace felt especially stifling and cold, I stayed warm thinking about parts of the world where people were free. I imagined I was one of them and it made me felt better. These people could speak their mind without the fear of being overheard. They could write and read books, make and watch movies, play and listen to the music without government’s permission. They gave me hope.

The sounds of the Beatles and other rock and roll music of the 1970s also helped. Turning on the tape recorder provided an instant immersion into that free world, a temporary escape from the stuffy Soviet reality. I believe that was a common experience for many young people of the Eastern Bloc. Owning an overpriced pair of blue jeans and listening to Western music went way beyond mere aesthetics; it was a non-verbal expression of our longing for freedom and an analgesic relief from the daily ideological bullying and brainwashing by the Communist regime.

It felt as though all those uncensored cartoons, music, and blue fade-out apparel were made especially for us. Communist propagandists agreed, telling us that all those “Western things” were masterminded by capitalist propagandists with the sole purpose of subverting the Soviet youth and weakening our communist resolve. We laughed at their paranoia, and yet the feeling of some secret messaging addressed to us was inescapable. Living in a totalitarian society will do that to you.

Everything the Communists did had a special political purpose, and they projected the same on their “capitalist adversaries,” claiming that all those “Western things” were part of a clandestine anti-Soviet operation. Later it came almost as a revelation to many Soviets that it wasn’t so. The superior consumer goods were the natural outcome of the capitalist economy, the uncensored art was the outcome of freedom, and rock and roll was a scream of joy that resulted from it. Whatever political messaging the Soviets attached to those things would have most likely surprised their creators.

As for me, I just wanted to experience a world where things were appreciated merely for their beauty, without any political weight clinging to them after they’d been dragged through the garbage of false totalitarian narratives.

Then I finally came to live in the U.S. and discovered a country chained by political correctness, which has become America’s new zeitgeist. Censorship came not as much from the government as from the media denouncements, which were then universally repeated by the mindless adepts of “progressivism.” Wherever I look I see a never-ending buildup of false narratives in an increasingly unfree society, where few things remain to be enjoyed for their beauty without the political ball and chain attached to them. One can’t even buy a chicken sandwich or watch a TV show, let alone read the news, without thinking about political messaging, symbolism, or ulterior motives.

The perpetrator is, once again, leftist ideology. It may not be a replica of the Soviet ideology, but it is nonetheless aligned with the general delusional idea of a world-wide socialist Utopia achieved through a totalitarian rule of “benevolent” elites. And now the totalitarian leftists are teaming up with the totalitarian Islamists. The censorship in Western societies has redoubled since Islam came into play. Apparently the leftists are hoping that Islamic supremacism will quietly go away once it helps them to conquer the world. That is, of course, yet another dangerous delusion.

I hate politics as much as a soldier hates the war but continues to fight because it’s the only way to victory. I’d rather live my life enjoying beautiful things without any politics attached, but today that seems like an impossible dream. The alternative to fighting is a surrender to the stifling totalitarianism and censorship, which will be a lot worse than going back to the Soviet days. The West’s surrender to the leftist agenda means that there will be no other parts of the world left to give us the hope of freedom. Nowhere to smuggle uncensored books, tapes, or cartoons from. Nowhere to run to.

This is why I do what I do. And this is what also drives the people in the far-away Warsaw to do what they do, including the translation of the People’s Cube satires into Polish.

Having grown up in an unfree world, we know something that most Americans don’t.

SANCTUARY CAMPUSES: How the safety of students and faculty are compromised to achieve the leftist agenda

Two disturbing articles focusing on “Sanctuary college campuses,” serve as the predication for my article today.

On November 22, 2016 “The Atlantic” published, “The Push for Sanctuary Campuses Prompts More Questions Than Answers: It’s not clear how far colleges would or could go to stop the deportation of students.”

This article detailed how some “Sanctuary” colleges will not cooperate with immigration authorities.

Consider this excerpt from this article:

“Faculty at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, who would like to see the school become a sanctuary campus, met on Monday with administrators to “have a better sense of what their expectations are for a sanctuary campus,” said Joanne Berger-Sweeney, the school’s president. Her faculty expressed interest in the school declining to pass immigration information to federal authorities, and in establishing a network of alumni who are willing to offer pro bono legal help to undocumented students.”

On December 1, 2016 the website, “The College Fix” posted, “UC President Napolitano to campus cops: Don’t enforce federal immigration law.”

Here is are salient excerpts from this article:

Napolitano — who served as Secretary of Homeland Security under the Obama administration, charged with protecting the nation’s borders — put out a statement Wednesday that her office will “vigorously protect the privacy and civil rights of the undocumented members of the UC community and will direct its police departments not to undertake joint efforts with any government agencies to enforce federal immigration law.”

The announcement comes as students in the country illegally and their peer allies are distraught that there might be mass deportations of undocumented students under a Donald Trump presidency. Many student leaders have announced their schools are “sanctuary campuses.” Now campus leaders are essentially following suit.

According to Napolitano’s office, there are about 2,500 undocumented students enrolled across the 10-campus UC system.

“While we still do not know what policies and practices the incoming federal administration may adopt, given the many public pronouncements made during the presidential campaign and its aftermath, we felt it necessary to reaffirm that UC will act upon its deeply held conviction that all members of our community have the right to work, study, and live safely and without fear at all UC locations,” Napolitano stated.

With that, the University of California also issued its “Statement of Principles in Support of Undocumented Members of the UC Community,” outlining measures they will take to protect DACA students:

The University will continue to admit students consistent with its nondiscrimination policies so that undocumented students will be considered for admission under the same criteria as U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

It is important to consider Napolitano’s statement about all members of the community “living safely and without fear at all UC locations.”

How safe are students and faculty members on campuses where illegal aliens are shielded from detection by federal authorities?

Napolitano stated that all members of the community have the right to work.  Illegal aliens, however, are forbidden, by law, from working in the United States.

When Napolitano was the Secretary of Homeland Security, she was in charge of the DHS agencies responsible for the enforcement and administer of the immigration laws yet she now equates immigration laws with discrimination.

The DHS was created in the wake of the terror attacks of September 11, 2001. The enforcement and administration of our immigration laws were moved from the Justice Department to the DHS because it was understood that border security and the enforcement of our nation’s immigration laws were matters of national security.

Our immigration laws are oblivious about race, religion or ethnicity but seek to prevent the entry or continued presence of foreign nationals (aliens) whose presence would pose a threat to national security or public health or public safety.

Title 8, United States Code, Section 1182 enumerates the categories of aliens who are to be excluded from entering the United States.  This includes aliens who suffer from dangerous communicable, diseases or extreme mental illness, are convicted felons, human rights violators, war criminals, terrorists and spies.

Aliens who enter the United States without inspection may have evaded that critical vetting process at ports of entry because they have criminal histories, may be fugitives or know that their names are listed on counter-terrorism watch-lists.

Some aliens who are subject to deportation (removal) were lawfully admitted into the United States but subsequently violated their terms of admission.  Some of these aliens are now subject to deportation because the have, since entry, have been convicted of committing felonies.

Janet Napolitano must certainly be aware of this yet she seeks to harbor illegal aliens who may well be criminals, fugitives or even terrorists on college campuses, including the campuses of the University of California she presides over.

The harboring and concealment of such illegal aliens is a felony under Title 8, United States Code §1324. (Bringing in and harboring certain aliens).

Yet the article noted that “The University will not cooperate with any federal effort to create a registry of individuals based on any protected characteristics such as religion, national origin, race or sexual orientation.”

Schools that admit foreign students are required to notify the DHS when foreign students fail to maintain their status as students.

On August 30 2016 the ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) website posted a news release, “ICE releases quarterly international student data” that reported that more than 1.1 million foreign students are currently enrolled in more than 8,000 schools and universities across the United States.

Thousands of foreign students have gone missing in the United States.  How many are being harbored today on “Sanctuary campuses?”

Consider that on September 2, 2014 ABC News reported, “Lost in America: Visa Program Struggles to ‘Track Missing Foreign Students’.”

Here is how this report began:

The Department of Homeland Security has lost track of more than 6,000 foreign nationals who entered the United States on student visas, overstayed their welcome, and essentially vanished — exploiting a security gap that was supposed to be fixed after the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks.

“My greatest concern is that they could be doing anything,” said Peter Edge, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement official who oversees investigations into visa violators. “Some of them could be here to do us harm.” 

Homeland Security officials disclosed the breadth of the student visa problem in response to ABC News questions submitted as part of an investigation into persistent complaints about the nation’s entry program for students. 

ABC News found that immigration officials have struggled to keep track of the rapidly increasing numbers of foreign students coming to the U.S. — now in excess of one million each year. The immigration agency’s own figures show that 58,000 students overstayed their visas in the past year. Of those, 6,000 were referred to agents for follow-up because they were determined to be of heightened concern. 

“They just disappear,” said Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla. “They get the visas and they disappear.” 

Coburn said since the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks, 26 student visa holders have been arrested in the U.S. on terror-related charges. 

Tightening up the student visa program was one of the major recommendations made by the 9/11 Commission, after it was determined that the hijacker who flew Flight 77 into the Pentagon, Hani Hanjour, had entered the U.S. on a student visa but never showed up for school. 

The official report, “9/11 and  Terrorist Travel – Staff Report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States” focused specifically on terrorists entered the United States and ultimately embedded themselves as they went about their deadly preparations.

Page 47 of this report noted:

“Once terrorists had entered the United States, their next challenge was to find a way to remain here. Their primary method was immigration fraud. For example, Yousef and Ajaj concocted bogus political asylum stories when they arrived in the United States. Mahmoud Abouhalima, involved in both the World Trade Center and landmarks plots, received temporary residence under the Seasonal Agricultural Workers (SAW) program, after falsely claiming that he picked beans in Florida.” Mohammed Salameh, who rented the truck used in the bombing, overstayed his tourist visa. He then applied for permanent residency under the agricultural workers program, but was rejected. Eyad Mahmoud Ismail, who drove the van containing the bomb, took English-language classes at Wichita State University in Kansas on a student visa; after he dropped out, he remained in the United States out of status.

For starters, any school that declares itself to be a “Sanctuary” for illegal aliens should have its authority to issue the form I-20 to foreign students summarily revoked.

Foreign students must present that form (I-20) to the U.S. embassy or consulate in order to be issued a student visa so that they may be admitted into the United States to attend school.

Foreign student advisors at each and every school are responsible for notifying DHS about foreign students who fail to attend those schools for which they were granted visas.  Clearly “Sanctuary Schools” cannot be trusted to cooperate fully with the DHS and make proper notification to the DHS.

No I-20 Forms:  No Visas:  No Foreign Students.

We aid and abet ISIS when we don’t tell the truth about Islam

Editor:  As you know from time to time we post reader comments that we think you might like, but might have missed. This is a comment from ‘7Delta’ in response to our post on how the OSU Somali slasher’s mother is scared (according to her lawyer) by Trump’s tweets.

‘7delta’ (emphasis added is mine):

Oh, for Pete’s sake. The jihadist’s family is traumatized by a tweet and the excuse for Wrong-Way Artan jack-knifing on campus is that he became “radicalized?” The old “the devil made me do it” radicalization defense…meaning, of course, that people who object to stealth jihad and hurt wittle Iswammic feewings are “recruiting” for ISIS. Okay, it’s the right motivational sentiment, but the wrong devil. Of course, according to our Mouths of Sauron, Wrong-Way’s actions can’t have anything to do with Islamic doctrine, now can it?

CNN News anchor Alisyn Camerota suggested last week that American women wear hijabs in solidarity with Moms like this Somali woman. Needless to say, it inspired a flood of responses, like this one, on Twitter:

Sorry, that song and dance went out with the minuet. Knowing Islamic doctrine is in style and their own operator’s manuals blow their flimsy fears and excuses out of Wrong Way’s tail pipe. Mom and Dad, wherever he may be, just got a free ticket to paradise, along with 68 additional close relatives.Chances are Mom and her remaining six young’uns (and probably Dad) had a wedding feast (paid for by us) with their closest friends to celebrate. Passed out sweets to their neighbors too (also purchased on our dime.) She’s not afraid of anything other than her attempts to trick us into being compliant with Shariah blasphemy laws won’t work anymore, as are her fellow hizrahites. In that respect, her fears (and theirs) are well founded.

Still, there’s good news! The reported rapidly spreading ailment, Islamophobia, has been cured! It’s a miracle! Amazing… true…but it never even existed. Imagine that! What a relief. We can quit worrying about it, just in time for Christmas.

Nothing Trump, nor any other happy infidel has done, will do, or can do has any effect whatsoever on Islamic doctrine. We are irrelevant to what Islam believes. The Double Duds, Mohammed and Allah, “radicalized” her son, only they called it devout.

Does anybody with a few functioning brain cells really think ISIS or cultural jihadists would actually tell us that criticizing Islam or electing Trump will recruit for the jihadists, so we shouldn’t do it, if it really did? What? Do they have too many soldiers of Allah and need to cut back to slow down establishing their caliphate so nobody gets hurt? Booty just being spread too thin? The sex slave market is saturated? I don’t think so. Wrong-Way was a devout follower of the 2 D’s. Pretty simple and doesn’t even require more than a basic understanding of Islamic doctrine.

The only thing we do that aids and abets ISIS and the Double D’s is to not tell the truth. Islam is what it is.

No sympathy from my keyboard for Mama Wrong Way’s “fears.” I’m sorry her son felt the obligation to try to kill people and to die a martyr, but that’s an Islamic issue. Maybe she should ask her prophet for profit (he got 1/5 of the booty, ya know) and Allah’s Head what to do when their infidel targets can read and won’t cooperate? That is, if she can figure out how to say it in Arabic, since that’s the only language Allah speaks.

I mean, seriously. Whining and name calling is just not working anymore, not even with the help of female news anchors suggesting infidel women should comply with Shariah law and wear hijabs in solidarity with Muslim women when a jihadist decides to get martyred, as if that’ll make everything okay when their men beat them or they’re the victims of an honor killing, which is in accordance with Shariah law too, or when the Filthy Rich Lawless Center puts people telling the truth on their Dollars for Hate List, or when our suspiciously “ignorant” of Islam president keeps telling us jihad isn’t Islamic. What happened to good old fashioned lying working?

Dang those fake news sites that truthfully report on Islamic atrocities!

A curse of fleas upon the Internet for making the Qu’ran, Hadith and Sira available for the infidel’s reading pleasure.

Seriously, these whiny rote replies are severely lacking in creativity and are as old as Mohammed’s first camel. Nobody, except the bobble-headed, bleached blonde news anchors, their suck-up male counterparts and the few parrots still flapping their fake social justice feathers, believes it anymore. The liars issuing talking points to the blondies and bird brains know the truth. Islam is their tool. Islam, naturally, intends to take their heads. Philadelphia doing nothing to remove thousands of felons and other ineligibles from voter rolls

ALEXANDRIA, Va. /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Philadelphia election officials are doing nothing to remove thousands of felons and other ineligible voters from registration rolls, a brief filed on Monday by the American Civil Rights Union argues.

Submitted by the Public Interest Legal Foundation at the Third U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, the ACRU’s brief contends that a district court erred when it granted a motion to dismiss the ACRU’s voter registration lawsuit against the city of Philadelphia.

The ACRU sued Philadelphia on April 4, gaining access to inspect voting records. This turned up thousands of noncitizens and convicted felons on registration rolls, and also revealed that city officials do not make any effort to remove such ineligible voters from the rolls as required by the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) and the Help America Vote Act (HAVA).

Acting on a dismissal request from the city, the district court ruled on Sept. 9 that federal law does not require city election officials to remove convicts from the rolls unless state law provides an explicit procedure for removal.

“But this reading is incorrect,” the ACRU brief notes, citing NVRA’s and HAVA’s express direction to all election officials to remove ineligible voters and keep registration lists accurate.

“Incarcerated felons are not eligible to vote under Pennsylvania law. A person who is incarcerated for a felony in Pennsylvania cannot vote in any way and cannot register to vote while incarcerated….” the brief states. “List maintenance [under federal law] is not merely permissible, it is mandatory.”

ABOUT THE AMERICAN CIVIL RIGHTS UNION

The ACRU is the first private entity to win under Section 8 of the NVRA, securing court settlements to clean up voter rolls in counties in Mississippi and Texas. The ACRU has also sued election officials in Broward County, Florida.

When your opponent is committing suicide don’t interfere

John Adams wrote, “Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.”

Democrats believe America is a democracy and when elected rule as if it were just that. Americans know that the United States is a Constitutional Republic and they expect those they elect to govern as if it were just that.

That is fundamentally why Donald Trump won Presidency of the United States.

Americans understand that “democracy” inextricably leads to committing social suicide. When one looks at those states, cities and the reign of former President Obama, Americans see the centralization of power, more government, more control, more regulation, expanded bureaucracies and power in the hands of a few elitists who know what is best for the masses. Republicans have been guilty of governing as if America were a democracy, rather than it being a Constitutional Republic. But that has changed with the election of Donald Trump.

In a March 2016 interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper President-elect Trump was asked about the U.S. Constitution.

COOPER: Do you see the constitution as a living breathing document that — or do you see that something set in stone from long ago? Those are sort of …

TRUMP: I see the constitution as set in stone. I see it as one of the great documents of all time.

Democrats see the U.S. Constitution as a “living breathing document” that can be manipulated as a means to meet their political ends. With the election of Donald J. Trump Americans will see a return to a U.S. Constitution that is “set in stone.” President-elect Trump has promised to appoint members of the U.S. Supreme Court who are strict constructionists, he has promised to “drain the swamp” created by those who see America as a democracy.

It is our hope and belief that America will change fundamentally into the Constitutional Republic envisioned by the Founding Fathers.

If America returns to its roots as a Constitutional Republic then, and only then, will it become great again.

As Democrats try to recover from 3 election cycles of loses, it appears that they have neither understood the why nor how they lost. They believe they are right and those Americans who voted for Donald Trump are white racist bigots. What Democrats and media missed was the Constitutional insurgency that propelled Trump to the White House.

Americans should heed the words of Niccolo Machiavelli, “One who deceives will always find those who allow themselves to be deceived.”

Americans who believe in the U.S. Constitution, and the Republic for which is stands, voted to drain the swamp.

If John Adams were alive today he would recognize that Democrats and their alt-Left democracy are committing political suicide. Mr. Adams would advise us to not interfere.

Obama Isn’t Just Attacking the Dakota Access Pipeline, He’s Attacking the Rule of Law

A month ago, I wrote:

President Barack Obama just took the rule of law, crumpled it up, and tossed along a riverbank in North Dakota.

He continues to treat the rule of law like wastepaper by putting up another (likely temporary) blockade in front of the Dakota Access Pipeline.

On Sunday, the Army Corps of Engineers refused to issue an easement to allow pipeline construction under the Missouri River, declaring it will “explore alternate routes for the pipeline crossing.”

In June, the Corps approved the easement but didn’t finalize it.

What changed was the pipeline became a symbolic issue for anti-energy, “Keep it in the ground” protesters, like Bill McKibben. Since this summer, thousands have encamped on federal land in North Dakota and have been ordered to leave by December 5. According to local law enforcement, these protesters are “armed, hostile” and not peaceful, and they inspired attacks on other pipelines in four states.

In September, a federal judge saw that proper procedures were followed in allowing approving the project and refused to stop it. But the Obama administration immediately pressed the pause button. Two months later, President Barack Obama telegraphed what the Corps just did by saying the pipeline should be re-routed—even though a federal judge noted that the pipeline’s path was modified 140 times and would run adjacent to a natural gas pipeline that’s been in the ground for over 30 years.

What’s interesting is the Corps never admits that it shouldn’t have approved the pipeline in the first place. It states:

[T]his decsision does not alter the Army’s position that the Corps’ prior reviews and action have comported with legal requirements.

In other words, the review process was followed correctly–just like a federal judge confirmed months ago. Nevertheless, the Corps (i.e. the White House) arbitrarily changed its mind.

Business and Labor Unhappy

Energy Transfer Partners, the company building the DAPL, called the move, “a purely political action,” adding:

This is nothing new from this Administration, since over the last four months the Administration has demonstrated by its action and inaction that it intended to delay a decision in this matter until President Obama is out of office.

Both business groups and labor blasted the decision.

Karen Harbert, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for 21st  Century Energy, said:

The Obama administration sent a clear message: if your special interest-funded protest is loud enough and has enough celebrities tweeting their support, then the rule of law and the facts no longer matter.

Terry O’Sullivan, General President of the Laborers’ International Union of North America, called the decision, “short-sighted, gutless, and irresponsible.”

Administration Attacks the Rule of Law

This action certainly was a thumb in the eye to the rule of law. To borrow from Professor Richard Epstein, the rule of law is a set of “known, consistent, and certain rules” that are applied in a neutral manner by the government. It’s one way our society functions.

There’s an implicit agreement: Government establishes a process for getting permission to build a major infrastructure project like a pipeline. If businesses follow those rules it should be assured of a definitive, rational decision. Both business and government function as partners.

Energy Transfer Partners spent years talking to local residents and Native American tribes. They worked with governments at all levels to demonstrate that the pipeline would be safe. They negotiated with private land owners to build the pipeline on their land. They made changes to the pipeline to protect the environment and culturally-sensitive lands.

The company followed the rules, only to have the Obama administration pull the rug out from under them to placate anti-energy activists like McKibben who thinks a modern, 21st Century economy can function without access to abundant energy.

Changing the rules in the middle of the game is fundamentally unfair, the AFL-CIO explained in November:

Once these processes have been completed, it is fundamentally unfair to hold union members’ livelihoods and their families’ financial security hostage to endless delay.

Uncertainty Has Consequences

Such decisions have ripple effects–mostly unseen. Other companies are watching.

They know that what’s happening with the Dakota Access Pipeline can just as easily be done to a natural gas pipeline or an electric power line –even if it links to a wind or solar farm. Any type of energy infrastructure investment is at risk from ad-hoc agency decisions that reject the rule of law.

Such uncertainty has consequences. Fewer needed energy projects will be attempted because the regulatory and permitting risk is too high.

As a result, it will be harder to move energy from where it’s produced to where it’s consumed. That means higher costs for families and factories. It also means higher transportation costs for energy producers, less investment in production, and fewer jobs created in the sector.

Hopefully this could be a fragile, temporary win for the anti-energy crowd. A Trump spokesman said the incoming administration supports the Dakota Access Pipeline and will review the Corps’ decision once it takes office next January.

Nevertheless, it’s a bold reminder that how we permit infrastructure projects needs serious reform. The first place to start is having a White House that stops playing politics with our infrastructure needs while respecting the rule of law and the fairness and certainty it provides.

Keith Ellison: Perfect for the DNC

His Muslim Brotherhood ties and venomous anti-Israel stance make him the living embodiment of today’s Democratic Party. My latest in FrontPage:

Throughout the Obama administration, the American Left has grown increasingly hostile to Israel and unwilling to acknowledge the reality of the jihad threat; now these tendencies could become the central focus of the Democratic Party, if Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) becomes Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). That became even clearer than it already was last week with new revelations of just how anti-Israel and tied to the Muslim Brotherhood Ellison really is.

The Investigative Project has released audio of Ellison speaking at a fundraiser for his 2010 Congressional reelection campaign, saying that a vote for him was a vote against Israel’s supposed control of U.S. foreign policy. “The message I want to send to you by donating to this campaign,” he declared, “is positioning me and positioning Muslims in general to help steer the ship of state in America….The United States foreign policy in the Middle East is governed by what is good or bad through a country of seven million people. A region of 350 million all turns on a country of seven million. Does that make sense? Is that logic? Right?”

Ellison also boasted that “there is a growing awareness in the US Congress and in the executive branch that everything anyone does, including Israel, is not fine. And there are real questions being asked.” He revealed that in meetings with his Jewish constituents, he challenged them to stand with Barack Obama against Israel: “Do you stand with the President on stopping settlements in east Jerusalem, because that is the policy of my president and I want to know if you’re with the President. Are you with the President?”

Ellison proposed that U.S. aid to Israel be tied to the Israeli building projects in East Jerusalem: “Why are we sending $2.8 billion a year over there when they won’t even honor our request to stop building in East Jerusalem? Where is the future Palestinian state going to be if it’s colonized before it even gets up off the ground?”

He offered an alternative aiding Israel: “We should be building the bilateral business relationships between the United States and the Muslim world….Morocco, we gotta build it up. Saudi Arabia, we gotta build it up. The Gulf countries, we gotta build them. Pakistan, we gotta build them.” (Saudi Arabia?) This would be done so that ultimately  Muslims in the U.S. would be able to make demands upon the government: “We need to have so much goods and services going back and forth between this country and the Muslim world that if we say we need this right here, then everyone is saying, OK. Understand my point? You’ve got to be strategic….These business relationships can be leveraged to say that we need a new deal politically.”

Hosting the event at his Virginia home was Esam Omeish, a former leader of the Muslim American Society (MAS). (Ellison has ties to MAS also: in 2008, he accepted $13,350 from MAS to go on a pilgrimage to Mecca. The Muslim American Society is a Muslim Brotherhood organization: “In recent years, the U.S. Brotherhood operated under the name Muslim American Society, according to documents and interviews. One of the nation’s major Islamic groups, it was incorporated in Illinois in 1993 after a contentious debate among Brotherhood members.” That’s from the Chicago Tribune in 2004, in an article that is now carried on the Muslim Brotherhood’s English-language website, Ikhwanweb.)

In 2007, Omeish was forced to resign from a Virginia immigration panel after a video surfaced showing him praising Palestinians who chose “the jihad way” against Israel. Also attending was the cofounder and executive director of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Nihad Awad, who declared “I am in support of the Hamas movement,” during a March 1994 symposium at Barry University.

In his speech, Ellison praised CAIR and Omeish: “The civil rights organizations that we had, had to do a lot of tough fighting but they are still standing. CAIR has not fallen, but they are fighting, they are struggling every day.” And of Omeish he said: “I just want to again thank Dr. Omeish, and let brother Esam know that he is my beloved brother and I love you and you are the best and your family is so beautiful and again, you know, you put it out there. You ran. And I hope you run again.”

None of this should come as any surprise, given the abundant evidence of Ellison’s links to anti-Semitic groups. Ellison has spoken at a convention of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). Yet ISNA has actually admitted its ties to Hamas, which styles itself the Palestinian arm of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Justice Department actually classified ISNA among entities “who are and/or were members of the US Muslim Brotherhood.”

Also, CAIR raised large amounts of for Ellison’s first campaign, and he has spoken at numerous CAIR events. Yet CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups.

Hamas has declared: “Killing Jews is worship that draws us close to Allah.” Ellison has spoken before several groups that have ties to Hamas, and has accepted money from a Muslim Brotherhood group; Hamas styles itself the Muslim Brotherhood for Palestine. Does Keith Ellison also, then, think that “killing Jews is worship that draws us close to Allah”? No establishment media “journalist” would ever dream of asking him that question, but it’s a fair one: Hamas repeatedly demonstrates genuine and murderous anti-Semitism, and Ellison has repeatedly shown himself willing and even eager to associate himself with Hamas-linked groups.

All this has finally caused some on the Left to draw back from Ellison. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which had previously warmly endorsed Ellison for DNC Chair, withdrew his support. Howard Dean refused to back him. Consequently, the Washington Post mused Sunday that “Ellison is in for a far rockier road than he probably imagined when he entered the race just a few weeks ago. And even if he does ascend to the DNC chairmanship, a decent-size chunk of Democratic voters and donors will probably be none too happy about it.”

Maybe, but given the tenor of the Obama administration for eight years, they’re likely to get over it quickly.

During his amazing speech at his Thank You USA Rally, president elect Trump said what Americans have been desperately longing to hear since the day mega-millions cast their vote for Obama.

“For too long Washington has tried to put us in boxes. They separate us by race, by age, by income, by geography, by place of birth. We spend too much time focusing on what divides us. Now is the time to embrace the one thing that truly unites us. You know what that is? America!”

Imagine the awesome impact of these unifying words had they come out of the mouth of Obama 8 years ago, America’s first black president.

As a black man who despises the Left’s on-going campaign to keep Americans divided into supposed victimized voting blocs, Trump’s words were beautiful music to my ears.

President Trump also humbly said We the People are the movement and that he is only the messenger. Trump called upon us to help him make America great again; make America first.

I am with you Mr President. My Conservative Campaign Committee is on our way to Louisiana. The Left is desperately trying to deceive Americans into believing Trump does not have a mandate to hit-the-brakes and turn America’s bus around from continuing down Obama’s road to making America last. The same media that had no problem with Obama lying to Americans about keeping their doctor and giving our enemy $150 billion to fund terrorism. The same media that could not care less about Hillary’s documented lies, multiple crimes and scandals.

Muslim Brotherhood linked CAIR and ICNA oppose Dakota Access Pipeline

Two Muslim Brotherhood linked organizations, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) are vigorously opposing the Dakota Access Pipeline.  Why would organizations that claim to defend Muslim civil rights oppose a pipeline that will help America’s economy and energy independence?

The Dakota Access Pipeline will deliver up to 570,000 barrels of oil per day from American oil fields to American refineries.  The pipeline will increase America’s energy independence and decrease the cost of fuel products.  See full report on Dakota Access Pipeline.

Energy Transfer Partners, the company handling the 1,172-mile and $3.78 billion project, had received all state and federal approvals except for a short section under the Missouri River in North Dakota.  However, mounting opposition alleging that the pipeline will ruin American Native sites and water quality influenced President Barack Obama to order the Army Corps of Engineers to halt construction on the pipeline to look for another route for the final part of the pipeline which goes under the Missouri River.   Eight other pipelines already cross the Missouri River.

The Council on American Islamic Relations opposes the Dakota Access Pipeline:

  • CAIR Oklahoma joined in the protest of the Dakota Access Pipeline in October 2016.    CAIR Oklahoma press release states “Representatives from Council on American-Islamic Relations Oklahoma and Black Lives Matter were in attendance, expressing their support for indigenous communities and the struggles they face.”
  • CAIR Minnesota joined in the opposition to the Dakota Access Pipeline in November 2016.

The case of water protectors in North Dakota is getting worse and worse by the day. The pipeline, which would carry oil from western North Dakota to Illinois, would cross the Missouri River near the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation. The tribe — and the “water protectors” protesting alongside — say the pipeline would trammel on sacred lands and could contaminate the local drinking water supply if it leaks or ruptures. Stopping DAPL is a matter of climate justice and decolonization for indigenous peoples.

Police used a range of potentially lethal weapons against peaceful water protectors at Standing Rock: tear gas, rubber bullets, concussion grenades, mace, and water cannons. With temperatures well below freezing, the use of water cannons has afflicted many with hypothermia—not to mention the physical pain from being blasted with high-pressure water.
Let’s call President Obama and demand that he give an executive order to permanently stop the pipeline.

Let us also call the Governor of North Dakota, Jack Dalrymple, to not allow any blockage on food and supplies coming into the camp. On Tuesday, after the governor ordered the camp evacuated and a winter storm swept in, officials said they would begin blocking supplies.

The protesters vowed to stay put. In addition, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers notified the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe on Friday that the public will not be allowed in areas being used to protest after December 5th and that anyone found on the property will be considered trespassing and subject to prosecution.

President Obama is acting on leftist politics to delay completion of the Dakota Access Pipeline.  The pipeline was supposed to be completed in December 2016.   Thankfully, President Elect Donald Trump supports that Dakota Access Pipeline.  However, liberal progressives are already asserting that Trump cannot take a position on the pipeline because he owns stock in Energy Transfer Partners who is developing the pipeline.

On November 28, 2016 North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple ordered the pipeline protesters to leave.  Two days later the Islamic Circle of North America sent out their call to action email targeting Governor Jack Dalrymple.

Do ‘Birthers’ Still Have an Issue?

For the past eight years, millions of Americans have been trying to restore national reverence for the founding principles and values set as the cornerstone of freedom and liberty in the Charters of Freedom. If successful, they would have also disqualified Barack Hussein Obama from the Oval Office, a natural consequence of constitutional accountability that no one in Washington D.C. was going to allow.

Although “progressives” have demonized that endeavor by labeling those people “birthers” or “alt-right” constitutional crackpots full of conspiracy theories, those documents, the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights are the only thing that stands between peaceful national sovereignty, security, freedom and liberty… and global tyranny. They only exist to the degree and extent that they are enforced.

To be clear, the movement focused on where Barack Hussein Obama was really born, Hawaii or Kenya, the foundation of the so-called “birther” movement, had little to do with the enforcement of the Founders intent of the natural born Citizen clause in Article II of the Constitution. It had much more to do with the fact that when Obama was challenged on his eligibility, he chose to issue not one, but three different “Certification of Live Birth” documents, none of which were a “Birth Certificate” and all of which turned out to be forgeries.

In this regard, the “birthers” still have an issue, as those three forged birth documents remain the only documentation of Obama’s U.S. citizenship today, and they remain forgeries. Law Center calls for impeachment were ignored by every member of congress, despite a mountain of evidence.

However, the issue of who is or is not eligible to occupy the Oval Office under the natural born Citizen clause is of far greater importance, as Obama prepares to vacate the Oval Office and pass the national baton to President-elect Donald J. Trump. The issue of who is or is not eligible for that office remains unsettled.

Over the past eight years, efforts to enforce the natural born Citizen clause largely resulted in a plethora of competing politically motivated opinions about what the Founders originally meant by that term and whether it remains relevant today. Despite the politically motivated hyperbole on the matter, those three simple English words do have a very simple, well-documented and well-known meaning.

For over a hundred years now, the judicial branch has been used to amend the Constitution by way of broad interpretations of constitutional text. Just as Jefferson had realized and warned in the early 1800s, the judicial branch, left unchecked and able to undermine the Constitution by mere broad interpretations, had indeed become the greatest threat to the Constitutional Republic.

Nowhere was this more evident than in the endless discussion over what the Founders meant by “natural born Citizen.” The debate over the meaning of this term was complicated by the reality that Barack Hussein Obama had managed to steal the 2008 DNC nomination from Hillary Clinton and was now sitting in the Oval Office, unconstitutionally. To avoid a nation crisis, or “constitutional crisis” per some, the term had to be made “ambiguous” to protect Barack Obama from removal from office.

For eight years, no one would be allowed to settle on the true meaning of natural born Citizen.

Making matters even worse, the GOP allowed no less than three non-natural born Citizens to seek the Oval Office under their banner in the 2016 elections, resulting in even more unconstitutional opinions of what a natural born Citizen is, in the end, making the term nearly meaningless.

US News wrote a column confirming that Sen. Ted Cruz is NOT a natural born Citizen, stating – “Constitutional scholars are dusting off their crystal balls as they are asked to discern what the Founding Fathers really meant by “natural born” citizen. Let me join the chorus of opinions by saying that based on the original framework of the Constitution and the 14th Amendment, Sen. Ted Cruz does not appear to be constitutionally eligible to hold the office of the president.”

Meanwhile, some of Ted’s friends at Harvard had a different opinion – as did Cornell Law – and the LA Times – and Heritage Foundation as well as numerous Law Professors as reported by the Washington Post – Salon – Slate and even Wikipedia. There was no shortage or opinions or legal theories supporting those arguments. But isn’t the truth much more obvious than indicated?

Still, it remains the only three words in the entire Charters of Freedom that prevents a foreign agent from ever occupying the most powerful political office not only in the United States, but in the world.

In short, the debate over what a natural born Citizen is falls on the following competing views;

  1. Someone born on U.S. soil and under the jurisdiction thereof? (The definition of native born citizen per the 14th)
  2. Someone naturalized to the United States, as defined by U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Amendments and statutes? (The definition of a naturalized)
  3. The Natural Law definition of natural born Citizen, the natural offspring of a legal U.S. citizen Father, who naturally inherits their citizenship from their birth Father at birth? (The Law of Nations definition)
  4. The “birther” definition, someone who is both native and natural born and not naturalized.

The first key to unlocking the real answer to this question is the word natural; which means a condition produced by nature alone, and not a man-made act by any legislative process. A natural right, which is inalienable by man, such as the right of every child born to an American Father to also be an American at birth.

The fundamental importance of this issue is the fact that all inalienable rights are natural rights. If we do not understand or revere natural rights, then we have no inalienable rights. Natural Born Citizen is the most fundamental natural right and it too, like all natural rights, is inalienable, which means, beyond the reach of legal opinions and legislative act.

Now, in order to protect our Constitutional Republic from foreign invasion and occupation at the highest levels, our Founders made it a constitutional requirement that only a natural born Citizen, as opposed to native born or naturalize citizens, can occupy the Oval Office.

Is this still an important issue as Barack Obama leaves his tenure as President of the United States?

In my opinion, it is more important than ever and here’s why…

Because Obama was allowed to complete two terms in the Oval Office without ever being held accountable for his massive fraud; and because too many Americans buy into the lie that this sets some type of “legal precedence” equal to “settled law,” from this moment forward, anyone from anywhere on earth without so much as a legitimate U.S. Birth Record can become president of the most powerful nation on earth.

In other words, those three simple words placed in Article II of the U.S. Constitution to prevent foreign invasion and occupation of the people’s White House can no longer provide that protection, unless and until, the true meaning of natural born Citizen is known by every American and enforced as a constitutional requirement for high office.

Until then, this constitutional protection of the Oval Office is no more use that the immigration and naturalization laws that have not been enforced since 1986. Our laws say that unless you enter this country through our immigration and naturalization process, you are in our country illegally. But some 200 U.S. cities are now sanctuaries for these illegal invaders and the same people have also worked to undermine and subvert the natural born Citizen clause.

Until the people insist that this matter be corrected, there will be no way to protect the Oval Office or the Constitutional Republic, much less make America great again!

The 2016 Revolution was based entirely upon a “fed up” attitude of average American voters from all political affiliations, towards elitist Beltway insiders from both parties. With a new incoming administration, now may be the best time to strike and set the record for the future.

Since no one would allow the conversation to take place so long as the usurper Obama was in office, right now might be the perfect time to resolve this matter before another usurper decided to seek the Oval Office. In fact, like the critical nature of the 2016 election itself, this might be the last chance we ever have to resolve the so-called “birther” issue, for all posterity.
