President Donald Trump demanded that Democrats assist him in re-opening public schools on Thursday, saying schools that remain closed should lose government funding.
Trump has pressed for reopening schools for weeks, making several threats to limit or cut funding altogether if children continue to be forced into distance learning. The main opposition to reopening comes from teachers unions, which consistently align with the Democrats.
Trump first began his push to reopen schools in July, arguing that his Democratic opponents were halting the reopening process for political reasons.
“We have to open our schools. Open our schools. Stop this nonsense,” Trump said Thursday. “It’s only political nonsense. They don’t want to open because they think it will help them on November 3rd. I think it will hurt them on November 3rd.”
Governors across the country ordered schools to close for the final months of the 2019-2020 school year, but states and districts disagree on when classrooms should reopen. The Trump administration released a set of eight recommendations in August for how schools can safely reopen.
The White House recommendations are as follows:
Educate teachers and students about the symptoms of COVID-19
Require students and teachers to “self-assess” their health each morning
Encourage frequent hand washing
Minimize large, indoor gatherings
Maintain high levels of ventilation in classrooms
Require students and teachers to socially distance from “high-risk individuals”
Encourage the use of masks
Post instructions for hygiene and social distancing around the school
Trump maintains that distanced learning is not an adequate replacement for schooling.
“When you sit at home in a basement looking at a computer, your brain starts to wither away,” Trump said when announcing the recommendations. “We have a lot of good experience at that just by taking a look at what’s happening in politics.”
Trump’s comments echoed those of the American Academy of Pediatrics, which came forward last month to urge state governments to reopen schools in the fall, saying risk of COVID-19 spread among students is low. The group also said dangers of keeping students home and away from learning outweighs the potential risk of spread.
“Lengthy time away from school and associated interruption of supportive services often results in social isolation, making it difficult for schools to identify and address important learning deficits as well as child and adolescent physical or sexual abuse, substance use, depression, and suicidal ideation,” the group said according to U.S. News.

Thanks to One America News, a new study from UCLA and Stanford University finds for the average 50-64-year-old, the chances of dying of Covid are one in 19.1 million, and the chances of contracting Covid are much lower than previously thought. People are vastly overestimating their chances of being infected and going to the hospital, especially here in America.
The average person in an average county has a one in 3,836 chance of contracting Covid and that’s without wearing a mask or doing any of the unscientific, high school science project of social distancing. Even the odds of being hospitalized are vanishingly small even in the “at risk” category. The chances of getting the virus and needing hospitalization are one in 852,000. These figures were from May, when the deaths were 16 times higher than they were last week.
Families across the globe have been affected by the ever-changing and uncertain working environment wrought by government responses to Covid-19. For many families both jobs and childcare have become less certain.
For families that finely balance time with their children, work, childcare and everything else, lockdown periods are highly stressful. My experience is that many couples with young children work in shifts late in to the night, while balancing phone calls, Zoom meetings and urgent emails during the day. As most working mothers I know work only part-time, I can only imagine what it might be like with two full-time working parents.
I am certain that more than one parent has wondered whether paid work is sustainable at all in such an uncertain environment, if the children are to also be well-cared for and some remnant of a peaceful and well-functioning home maintained.
A recent study by the Institute for Fiscal Studies found that government responses to Covid-19 have indeed caused drastic changes to most parents’ work lives and other responsibilities in the United Kingdom. Its findings include:
“Millions of adults have lost or are forecast to lose their jobs permanently; many more have stopped work temporarily. Others are newly working from home, while many key workers are experiencing additional pressures and risks in their work.
For most parents, school and childcare closures have meant that children are at home, and requiring care, for at least an extra six hours a day.
…The complete shutdown of certain sectors and the huge increase in households’ care responsibilities are both completely new.”
Job losses and increased childcare responsibilities most often affect women. Mothers are one-and-a-half times more likely than fathers to have either lost their job or quit since the lockdown began. They are also more likely to have been granted a leave of absence from work.
Women are much more likely to be in insecure, part-time employment roles, and the shut-down sectors also disproportionately employ women, thus they will likely be the first to go when more redundancies hit. Moreover, as women generally perform important childcare and “home” responsibilities, many feel that without certain child-care, time at home must come before other work. Thus, the effects of lockdown may be felt for some time to come:
“Workers who have lost their jobs permanently may struggle to find new ones, workers who have reduced their hours may struggle to increase them again, and workers whose productivity has suffered due to interruptions may be penalised in pay and promotion decisions. The disproportionate decrease in mothers’ paid work now suggests any longlasting effects will be particularly severe for them.”
The findings also indicate that, despite doing less childcare than mothers, during lockdown fathers have nearly doubled the time they spend on childcare. It will be interesting to understand how many work places have accommodated fathers to balance childcare responsibilities over the lockdown period. I have heard more than one parent of pre-school aged children lament that many of the people they work with have never had children or don’t currently have young children, and simply do not seem to even contemplate the huge stress on families with young children. Will lockdown result in greater allowances for fathers that balance time at the office with adequate family and “home” time?
Spending more time with our own children is a blessing. I often lament how many hours a day my children are under the influence of others at school; increasing numbers of parents choose to home-school for this very reason. However, the reality of other commitments, both financial and otherwise, make this season of life a very stressful one for the parents of young children. It may also affect the many women who balanced any sort of paid work with their important work in the home for many years to come.

Every Democratic leader in the country should be immediately arrested and imprisoned for the nightmare they put America through these past six months over the Wuhan virus. Very quietly (with no fanfare, no press releases, no long interviews on any major media outlets), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) updated their charts on their homepage.
And pay close attention to the timing of this update by the CDC, which will become clear in a moment. About 10 days ago, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced it was going to be investigating governors that forced Wuhan patients into nursing homes.
That would include Gov. Cuomo in New York and Gov. Whitmer here in Michigan. Thousands and thousands of patients were officially recorded as having died from the disease in those homes. And then — lo and behold — the CDC very quietly, just a couple days after the DOJ announcement, updated its COVID death numbers to greatly reduce those who died solely from COVID.
What they updated it to is the truth at last. The truth that reveals this entire Wuhan debacle was another planned effort to get Trump. Look at this (again, right on the CDC website for the whole world to see): Of the roughly 170,000 deaths in the United States from the China virus, only 6%, about 1 in 20, were strictly from the virus.
The other 19 out of 20 occurred if and when some other disease was already present; in fact, there was often more than one disease. On average, 2.6 other serious ailments were present besides the Wuhan virus that brought about death, according to the CDC.
People died who had severe respiratory illnesses or liver failure or severe cases of diabetes, renal failure and so forth. The CDC provides a pretty comprehensive list, in fact, of all the other health issues that needed to be present on top of Wuhan to die from it.
But the question is, if someone already had severe diabetes and renal failure and respiratory illness, and then they caught Wuhan, is it accurate to say they died from Wuhan?
So what’s really going on here? We all know. These Marxist monsters were not only willing — but actually complicit — in destroying the greatest economy in the history of the world just to make sure Trump did not get reelected.
“Russia, Russia!” didn’t work. Ukraine didn’t work. Impeachment didn’t work. His personal taxes didn’t work. Stormy Daniels didn’t work. Nothing worked against Donald “Make America Great Again” Trump. Nothing. Ah, but if the Marxists could develop a way to destroy the economy, that would be their ticket.
Then they could not only destroy the lives and livelihoods of tens of millions of Americans and run up the national debt by trillions more — but, but, but — they could then say it’s really all Trump’s fault because he didn’t prepare correctly.
There’s no way to know (big picture now), at least right now, if the Marxist Democrats actually conspired with the Marxist Chinese in the development and release of the virus in the first place. But given their level of evil (remember, they kill children by the tens of millions), why not?
Why couldn’t this be some gigantic masterplan cooked up by the Marxists in Washington, D.C. and the Marxists in Beijing? Heck, given the coziness of the Beijing Marxists and the D.C. swamp Marxists with the Vatican, you can’t dismiss the possibility that the evil homopredator McCarrick doesn’t have his finger in all this.
Remember, Church Militant was the first to uncover last year that McCarrick was communist-trained at an indoctrination center in St. Gallen, Switzerland; he was a man who had secret offshore accounts, according to our sources, funded by the Kremlin.
Let’s face it, to bring about global domination would require a global effort. World domination, the stated goal of Marxism, doesn’t just happen all by itself. But since we can’t know any of that definitively, at least not yet, let’s lay it aside.
What we do know is that no sooner had the Wuhan appeared than the entire Left saw and seized an opportunity for their own political gain. They brought the economy to a standstill. They locked down the country, state by state. And their Marxist media allies trumpeted the narrative.
Stay home. Don’t breathe. Never come outside again. Give people “free” money for the next year. Shut down the schools. Close up everything. Leave no stone unturned. The virus must be eradicated from every cellar, every chimney, every mailbox in America.
No one is safe: People will die by the millions. Tens of millions. There was and still is no end of the hysteria. Every day, the COVID News Network, CNN, is right there with what amounts to a fake body count (rather, actually is a fake body count because no distinction is made between those who died from the virus and those who died from a combination of many things).
Ninety-four percent of people listed as dying from Wuhan actually died from Wuhan and three other diseases acting in combination with each other. To skip over that inconvenient fact should result in complicit media being arrested and put on trial and then imprisoned for the rest of their natural-born days.
They abused their power, their “journalistic” freedom so wickedly that they brought about enormous suffering — and even death — to untold numbers of Americans. They caused suicides, mental illnesses, drug and alcohol addiction and people’s failure to seek medical help for fear of being near a hospital.
And all along, the Democrats and their media pals lied to you, deceived you, drove you to near panic — all for the sole purpose of getting Trump. They drummed up and manufactured a “scamdemic” and made you pay the cost. None of them were touched by the consequences of their own evil — just tens of millions of others.
Let this sink in: Only 6% actually died directly from Wuhan. Six percent. That’s approximately 10,000 people. Tragic, of course, but a small number (relatively speaking). The other 160,000 died from a combination of multiple diseases; Wuhan was just one in the mix.
You’ve been lied to by the Democrats and the media. Many of your lives have been destroyed, your businesses wiped out, your families left under crushing economic conditions. There is no end to the evil the Democrats will inflict on anyone to accomplish their goal.
They would gun you down in the streets if they thought it would help, and that is precisely what they will do if they win in November. This party, at least the leadership, is not composed of Americans. They are straight-up communists who want America destroyed.
And, for the Catholics listening to this, remember: Many of the U.S. hierarchy (the bishops and their staffs) are dyed-in-the-wool Democrats. They have no supernatural faith. They don’t believe. They protect homopredator clergy. They lie to you, take your money, give no care whatsoever about the eternal destiny of you or your family.
They are straight-up Marxists who disguise themselves as social justice warriors supposedly caring for the poor. They are in league with Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and all the rest of them. That’s why they never condemn them, never speak a word against them, give them the Sacred Body and Blood of Our Lord — adding sacrilege to their list of crimes.
This is a giant ideological conspiracy — if not an actual one. It is a Marxist effort to defeat Trump at all costs, even faking a pandemic. The 10,000 Americans who’ve died directly from Wuhan doesn’t even crack the top 10 on the list of causes of death each year in America.

Five times the number of people died from committing suicide than those who died directly from Wuhan. America, you’ve been had; brother, have you been had! In the calculation of the Marxists, including those in the Church, America is the last obstacle on the world stage to global domination. And Trump is the central figure espousing American greatness.
He has to go so America can be taken off the board and the era of godless Marxism can begin. The Democrats are in on this. The media is in on this. The Obama holdovers in the deep state are in on this. Black Lives Matter is in on this. Antifa is in on this. Too many bishops and clergy are in on this.
And they are all Marxists. Wake up, America, wake up. And for you duped Catholics who have allowed yourselves to be taken in by these crooked men in miters in league with all this, denied Mass and the sacraments and the normal spiritual life, you need to rise up and rise up now.

The clothing retailer Levi Strauss(1.00) recently stepped up its one-sided political activism when it filed an amicus brief with the Eleventh Circuit Court in favor of a gender-confused teenager denied access to the men’s restroom. Drew Adams is a girl who identifies as a boy, and when her high school in St. Johns County Florida said she must use the girls’ bathroom or a single-stall one, Adams sued and won. The ruling of the lower court that sided with Adams was recently upheld by an appeals court after corporations like Levi’s supported Adams’ Title IX discrimination claim.
Levi’s open celebration of Adams’ high school being forced to submit to a liberal gender ideology shows the company values social justice politics more than their customers’ safety and comfort. Teenager girls should not have to face males in their restrooms, locker rooms, or sports teams, but that’s where Levi wants our culture to go. They’re also adding to children’s confusion about their gender.
Taking such a blatantly left-wing point of view will only isolate Levi’s from their conservative customers and middle-of-the-road parents who are concerned about the kids’ safety. Levi’s clear support for teens who have tried to change their gender will also influence more children to take this unhealthy path.
In 2016, girls like Adams accounted for 46% of sex reassignment surgeries in the U.S. Only one year later, that number spiked to 70%. Levi’s normalizing of transgenderism is unlikely to lead to a decrease in this trend. All of this should be more than enough reasoning for 2ndVote shoppers to patronize businesses that prioritize customer service over politics.
Former Minneapolis police officer Thomas Lane’s lawyer said he plans to argue that George Floyd “killed himself” and no officer was responsible for his death.
Floyd died during an arrest May 25, 2020 after former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for over nine minutes. His death sparked protests around the country that are still continuing today, and all four officers at the scene that day have been charged.
Chauvin was charged with murder and Lane, Alexander Keung and Tou Thao have been charged as accomplices. Although two autopsies determined Floyd’s death to be a homicide, Lane’s lawyer Earl Gray said he will argue none of the officers killed him, the LA Times reported.
“None of these guys — even Chauvin — actually killed him,” according to Gray. “He killed himself.”
Gray’s defense argument, he added, will use toxicology and autopsy reports. The lawyer will argue that Floyd actually died from overdosing on fentanyl, an opioid. Gray will also argue that Floyd had an underlying heart condition, the LA Times reported.
“We are going to show that my client and the other cops were doing their jobs,” Gray said.
Lane’s lawyer noted in a motion July 7 that Minneapolis police training included a section detailing how to handle a suspect who is not cooperating. The motion included a photograph that shows a method of arrest similar to what the officers did, according to the LA Times.
“Sudden cardiac arrest typically occurs immediately following a violent struggle,” the instructions warn.
The Minneapolis City Council banned the use of chokeholds and neck restraints by officers in June following Floyd’s death.
The collateral damage of lockdowns must not be ignored.
In economics, we talk a lot about unintended consequences.
It’s easy to forget that societies are complex ecosystems. Legislators often pass sweeping changes hoping to achieve one result, not realizing it will create countless other consequences not intended.
Some of the unintended consequences will be positive, but many of them will not be. A case in point can be found in new government statistics that show a surge in suicidal thoughts among young adults during the COVID-19 pandemic.
One in four young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 say they’ve considered suicide in the past month because of the pandemic, according to new CDC data that paints a bleak picture of the nation’s mental health during the crisis.
The data also flags a surge of anxiety and substance abuse, with more than 40 percent of those surveyed saying they experienced a mental or behavioral health condition connected to the Covid-19 emergency. The CDC study analyzed 5,412 survey respondents between June 24 and 30.
The toll is falling heaviest on young adults, caregivers, essential workers and minorities. While 10.7 percent of respondents overall reported considering suicide in the previous 30 days, 25.5 percent of those between 18 to 24 reported doing so. Almost 31 percent of self-reported unpaid caregivers and 22 percent of essential workers also said they harbored such thoughts. Hispanic and Black respondents similarly were well above the average.
The article says the mental health crisis stems “from the pandemic,” but it’s more accurate to say it stems far more from our collective reaction to the pandemic, not the actual virus.
Locking down economies and ordering healthy people to remain isolated might have succeeded, to some degree, in slowing the spread of the virus. But it was also a surefire way to make people miserable.
Lockdowns result in job loss, anxiety, and despair. Scientists have long known the effects of social isolation aren’t just harmful, but deadly.
A wave of new research suggests social separation is bad for us. Individuals with less social connection have disruptedsleep patterns, alteredimmune systems, moreinflammation and higher levels ofstress hormones.One recent study found that isolation increases the risk of heart disease by 29 percent and stroke by 32 percent.
Another analysis that pooled data from 70 studies and 3.4 million people found that socially isolated individuals had a 30 percent higher risk of dying in the next seven years, and that this effect was largest in middle age.
Loneliness canaccelerate cognitive decline in older adults, and isolated individuals aretwice as likely to die prematurely as those with more robust social interactions. These effects start early:Socially isolated children have significantly poorer health 20 years later, even after controlling for other factors. All told, loneliness is as important a risk factor for early death as obesity and smoking.
Many of the consequences listed here will take years to analyze and document, but we’ve seen glimpses of more immediate unintended consequences already: rampant suicide, surging drug overdoses, increases in domestic violence, economic destruction, and many others.
None of these consequences were intended when lawmakers passed sweeping lockdowns, but that does not make them less real. Nor do pure intentions absolve lawmakers of responsibility.
The famed economist Milton Friedman once observed that perhaps the greatest threat to liberty comes “from men of good intentions and good will who wish to reform us.”
In this case, the well-intentioned seek not to reform us but to protect us. But as Friedman noted, “concentrated power is not rendered harmless by the good intentions of those who create it.” Indeed, many of the greatest atrocities in history have been perpetrated by well-meaning people.
Above all else, we must judge lockdowns by their actual results, not what they were designed to do.
If we fail in that, these troubling CDC statistics are likely to become the norm, not the exception.

WASHINGTON (ChurchMilitant.com) – Joe Biden’s running mate has a history of targeting Catholics and pro-lifers.
Senator Kamala Harris is Biden’s vice-presidential candidate, the Biden campaign announced Tuesday.
I have the great honor to announce that I’ve picked @KamalaHarris — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants — as my running mate.
Previously, Harris ran against Biden in the primaries, until she dropped out of the race Dec. 3.
Harris, much like “fake Catholic” Biden, supports abortion and same-sex “marriage.”
When she was California’s attorney general (2011–2017), Harris helped prosecute David Daleiden and the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), whose undercover videos exposed the abortion industry’s practice of selling aborted babies’ body parts.
Daleiden has undergone years of legal battle since releasing the undercover videos in 2015.
In May, Daleiden filed suit against Harris and Planned Parenthood, alleging Harris was part of an effort to target CMP for political reasons.
The lawsuit stated, “This complaint seeks justice for a brazen, unprecedented and ongoing conspiracy to selectively use California’s video recording laws as a political weapon to silence disfavored speech.”
Kristan Hawkins, president of pro-life group Students for Life of America, commented on Harris’ nomination, “She wants to force all private insurances and employers to cover abortion and contraception, even over people’s moral objections, such as the nuns in the Little Sisters of the Poor, who twice had to fight for their conscience rights before the Supreme Court.”
Hawkins also stated, “As a California attorney general who took campaign funds from Planned Parenthood, Sen. Harris arranged for an armed raid on the home of pro-life journalist David Daleiden, who had dared to document the abortion Goliath’s illegal trafficking of aborted infants.”

In addition to bias against pro-lifers, Sen. Harris has also been accused of bias against faithful Catholics.
She grilled a judicial nominee in December 2018 for his involvement in the Knights of Columbus — a Catholic men’s fraternal group.
In questions submitted to Brian Buescher for his judicial nomination, Harris called the Knights of Columbus “an all-male society,” slamming the organization for maintaining Catholic teachings on the definition of marriage and the sanctity of human life.
Throughout her political career, Harris has touted her record of prosecuting sex crimes in San Francisco, where she was district attorney (DA) in 2003–2011.
But victims of Catholic clerical sex abuse say Harris neglected to follow through with their abuse allegations, despite an abundance of evidence gathered by the previous DA, Terence Hallinan.
Abuse victim Joey Piscitelli, for example, says Harris “did nothing” as the district attorney of San Francisco after he wrote to her about his molestation at the hands of a local priest.
Five years later, Piscitelli wrote to Harris, again urging her to assist alleged sexual assault victims by releasing records of their abuse lawsuits that had been compiled by Hallinan.
But Harris again failed to respond. Her refusal to release the records was seen as significant, as Hallinan’s team was gathering evidence as part of a wider investigation into clerical sex abuse. His inquiry lapsed when Harris became the new DA.
In June 2019, the Intercept released a graphic video detailing Harris’ dubious record on clerical sex abuse.
In a 2010 letter to then-DA Harris, one abuse victim stated:
Don’t you feel a sense of responsibility?
Many members of the press have asked you to release the documents and the names, and you refuse. We all know you are not refusing to list the names and documents because you are protecting children. We all know you can redact the names of the children from the documents. What is vital is that you help to make those names of child sex offenders transparent, because Bp. [Hugh] Niederauer of San Francisco, and Cdl. [William] Levada, certainly are not being transparent.
While Harris is accused of dropping the ball on clerical sex abuse, she has also been accused of being overly rigorous about prosecuting marijuana offenses.
In the Democratic primary debates, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard said of Harris, “She put over 1,500 people in jail for marijuana violations and then laughed about it when she was asked if she ever smoked marijuana.”
This was referencing an interview Harris had given to a hip-hop radio show, where she seemingly claimed to smoke marijuana in her college years while listening to Tupac and Snoop Dogg — even though Harris graduated college in 1986, years before either of those rappers released any albums.
According to government records, Harris oversaw about 1,900 marijuana convictions in San Francisco — but those defending Harris point out few of those convicted were put in prison.
In an opinion piece, CNN political commentator David Axelrod called Harris “the ‘do no harm’ candidate, unlikely to thrill or outrage many.”
Axelrod, formerly a campaign strategist for President Barack Obama, went on to write, “She may not seem the most comfortable fit as a governing partner, a quality Biden said he was seeking, but Harris was viewed as the safest pick to win in November.”
Dr. Melanie McGraw Piasecki is both a pediatrician and a mother of three who wants to see kids back in school after the COVID-19 lockdown that shuttered classrooms in the spring and is on the cusp of doing so this fall across the country.
“My children did not have a particularly great experience in the spring, particularly my youngest, who was in first grade at the time,” Piasecki, of Charlotte, North Carolina, said Wednesday at a White House event. “I think the online learning for the young ones, it just doesn’t work.”
Her children’s school is moving to a hybrid model, a mix of in-classroom and remote learning.
“In terms of being a pediatrician, I just think the science is so clear that the risk of death or hospitalization for children with this virus is so, so low,” Piasecki said. “We know the risks of missing school are catastrophic. We probably don’t even know how high they are yet, and they cover so many different areas.”
Piasecki was among nine Americans—including parents, doctors, teachers, and education officials—who attended the White House event to advocate the reopening of schools.
“We are 100% with you,” President Donald Trump said, referring to children’s return to school.
Vice President Mike Pence, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, presidential counsel Kellyanne Conway, and new White House medical adviser Dr. Scott Atlas also were part of the event.
“The concept of every other day [school attendance] seems a little ridiculous, right?” Trump asked Piasecki. “If you’re going to do it, you do it. The concept of going back—even from a management standpoint from the school—every other day seems very strange.”
Piasecki explained the thinking behind it, but said she’s generally supportive of returning to school.
“The idea is they are going to take half the student body on ‘A’ days and half the student body on ‘B’ days so they can socially distance in the facility; then if you’re home, you’ll be watching it on technology,” she said.
Trump responded: “But you’d rather see them go back period, right? You’d rather not see that?”
The doctor answered: “That’s right.”
Trump secured $13 billion for states to spend on K-12 education, and is asking Congress to approve another $70 billion for K-12 schools.
Keeping schools closed harms earning potential for students, said Paul Peterson, director of the Program on Education Policy and Governance at Harvard University.
“For every year you spend in school, in the future you will earn 10% more in lifetime earnings,” Peterson said at the White House gathering, adding:
So, if we lock down schools for a year, we assign this generation to a 10% earning loss for the rest of their life. This is profound. The costs are vastly greater than people have appreciated, to say nothing about the importance of young people being together with one another.
At this point, Trump said: “So sitting in isolation with a computer, looking at a laptop, is not the same as being out there in the real world?”
Peterson said the COVID-19 pandemic changed his mind about the effectiveness of remote learning.
“At one point, Mr. President, I thought digital learning was the future,” Peterson said. “But, we have learned through this COVID crisis that we haven’t got digital learning to the point where you can really engage young people. They have got to be in that classroom. They have to be with their peers.”

The last couple of weeks have been frustrating for the contingent of Trump’s base who think lockdowns, untargeted social distancing, and forcing everyone to wear masks are neither effective nor necessary responses to COVID-19 and, in fact, are a much greater menace than the virus itself.
They believe we ought to be listening to the thousands of doctors and scientists whom the drive-by media have gone out of their way to silence instead of blindly following the dictates of life-long bureaucrats puffed up and pushed by professional purveyors of fake news like Jake Tapper and Chris Cuomo.
Many of the president’s strongest supporters agree with Tucker Carlson that the measures being hyped the hardest by Jerry Nadler and his fellow Democrats as well as the relentless state of panic the president’s enemies in the press have created don’t merely contradict the data.
They think we’re witnessing a deliberate attempt to create a climate of fear and inflict maximal misery on the American people to give Biden a shot at winning in November.
So, a lot of folks in the president’s corner couldn’t have been happier to hear Trump called out two of the media’s biggest lies about COVID-19 at a press conference last week.
Unfortunately, within a day, the Trump campaign sent an email to their fundraising list urging his supporters to abandon any convictions they may hold that it’s a terrible idea and start wearing masks.
And it wasn’t just signed by Trump. It was also written in an idiosyncratic style that seemed to indicate he may have actually composed it.
Whosever idea it was hopefully noticed that a lot of folks who should be Trump’s biggest supporters wound up neither convinced nor amused.

And that’s one of the responses that was mild enough to quote. A lot of them, though admittedly creative, contained way too much profanity to do anything more than link to.
But those who were discouraged can take heart. At his press conference yesterday the President announced that Dr. Scott Atlas is joining his team of COVID-19 advisors.

Dr. Scott Atlas has routinely appeared on #KUSINews to speak on our coronvirus response, most recently telling Americans not to panic as cases rise.
If you haven’t heard of Dr. Atlas… well, that’s part of the problem. He’s the former chief of neuroradiology at Stanford University Medical Center and now a senior fellow at Stanford’s ultra-prestigious Hoover Institution (where Thomas Sowell and Victor Davis Hanson also reside).
But apart from his impeccable credentials, Dr. Atlas is one of the thousands of medical experts the Democrats and their media enablers don’t want you to know about who’ve been trying to put the breaks on the suicidal, anti-science response to COVID-19 they’ve conned us into following.
Way back on April 22, Dr. Atlas penned an op-ed in The Hill whose title couldn’t have been clearer:
The data is in — stop the panic and end the total isolation.
He explained five facts about COVID-19 that were already apparent from the data a month after lockdowns started. But most Americans were totally unaware and, thanks to our corrupt and incompetent national press, still are.
Fact 1: The overwhelming majority of people do not have any significant risk of dying from COVID-19.
Fact 2: Protecting older, at-risk people eliminates hospital overcrowding.
Fact 3: Vital herd immunity is prevented by total isolation policies, prolonging the problem.
Fact 4: People are dying because other medical care is not getting done due to hypothetical projections.
Fact 5: We have a clearly defined population at risk who can be protected with targeted measures.
Countless lives would’ve been saved and a heartbreaking amount of needless hardship and misery averted if more people had been aware of Dr. Atlas’s article back in April when it first appeared.
A month later, Trump’s new advisor tried to get the word out that lockdowns will wind up killing far more people than even the worst of the wildly inflated COVID-19 fatality projections claimed would die without them.
It’s a measure of how criminal Fauci’s leadership was that he somehow never even considered how many lives would be lost to canceled medical procedures and the well-established disastrous effects severe economic downturns have on life span.
Let alone the number of already struggling Americans who would kill themselves or overdose on drugs because the isolation and economic ruin he inflicted on them was too much to bear.

For everyone who expressed frustration because the many esteemed experts vehemently calling out Fauci’s pseudoscientific snake oil and warning of its catastrophic side effects weren’t getting any attention, it looks like the president may have heard you.

Apart from Jerry Nadler, Chris Cuomo, the other Democrats and fake-newsmen who’ve thus far managed to stifle any dissenting views on the crackpot response to COVID-19 they’ve been dishonestly peddling, and those poised to rake in billions when the terrified masses start desperately lining up in droves for the completely unnecessary and likely not very effective vaccine they’re in a frantic race to develop, Dr. Atlas’s appointment is fantastic news for all Americans.
There’s finally some hope that the epidemic of madness that’s infected the nation these past five months might be coming to an end.
The irony is that for decades New York City and other cities have adopted “Sanctuary” policies that, to one extent or another, block federal immigration law enforcement officers from interacting with local and state officials. The level of cooperation between local officials and federal immigration authorities or lack thereof, varies greatly from one jurisdiction to another, but as of late, has all but ended in many such jurisdictions across the United States.
The State of New York even has taken to providing illegal aliens with driver’s licenses while blocking DMV (Department of Motor Vehicle) information from federal immigration agencies including the U.S. Border Patrol, Customs and Border Protection inspectors at ports of entry, and ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) as I reported in my recent article, “New York State Blocks ICE and Border Patrol Access to DMV Database.”
Governor Cuomo has outrageously taken to calling ICE agents “thugs.”
Meanwhile the 9/11 Commission made it abundantly clear that international terrorists, and not just the 9/11 hijacker-terrorists, exploited key vulnerabilities to enter the United States and embed themselves within the immigration system, hiding in plain sight as they went about their deadly preparations. The very same immigration system that the city most devastated on September 11, 2001 — New York — has acted most aggressively to undermine and subvert.
Now in spite of the supposed abhorrence to secure national borders and effective immigration law enforcement, New York City is at it again — apparently creating its own “Border Patrol” to secure the borders of the city of New York!
On August 5, 2020 the New York Times reported, “Virus ‘Checkpoints’ in N.Y.C. to Enforce Travel Rules?” Well, not exactly. The mayor is sending the sheriff to city bridges and tunnels to try to ward off a second wave of the coronavirus.

The announcement by Mayor Bill de Blasio on Wednesday seemed to signal a new crackdown in the city’s efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus: “Traveler registration checkpoints” would be set up at bridges and tunnels, conjuring images of police officers stopping cars and detaining people from out of state.
The New York Times report then said that this was more about informing motorists about the need to quarantine if they were coming from states where they were experiencing increases in the virus.
In reviewing the policies, however, de Blasio’s program is far more than an “educational” effort but imposes fines of up to ten thousand dollars and forms of stringent punishment.
De Blasio clearly sees those entering the city as posing a potential threat to public health.
What is unquestionable is that America’s immigration laws are similarly focused on protecting America and Americans from foreign nationals who pose a threat to public health — as well as to public safety, national security and the jobs and wages of Americans.
I focused on this very issue in my article, “Open Borders Are Dangerous To Our (Public) Health” in which I reminded folks that Ellis Island was a quarantine station that was run by Immigration and U.S. Public Health officials.
For all of the globalists’ rancor about how racist our immigration laws are, they should review the relevant section of the Immigration and Nationality Act, specifically 8 U.S. Code § 1182, which enumerates the categories of aliens who are deemed inadmissible because they pose a threat to the safety and well-being of America and Americans.
That section of law makes no mention and no distinction about race, religion or ethnicity whatsoever, but does begin by stating:
(a) Classes of aliens ineligible for visas or admission Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, aliens who are inadmissible under the following paragraphs are ineligible to receive visas and ineligible to be admitted to the United States:
(i) who is determined (in accordance with regulations prescribed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services) to have a communicable disease of public health significance; [1]
(ii) except as provided in subparagraph (C), who seeks admission as an immigrant, or who seeks adjustment of status to the status of an alienlawfully admitted for permanent residence, and who has failed to present documentation of having received vaccination against vaccine-preventable diseases, which shall include at least the following diseases: mumps, measles, rubella, polio, tetanus and diphtheria toxoids, pertussis, influenza type B and hepatitis B, and any other vaccinations against vaccine-preventable diseases recommended by the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices,
That section of federal law that serves as the framework for the decisions made by CBP (Customs and Border Protection) inspectors at ports of entry also deems that aliens who are criminals, terrorists, spies, human rights violators, human traffickers, drug smugglers and others who pose a threat to national security, public safety and the jobs and wages of Americans are to be inadmissible.
If the mayor and governor are concerned about saving innocent lives, why would they undermine federal laws that were enacted to protect innocent lives?
Yet for years New York’s mayor and governor and their acolytes have done everything their twisted minds could come up with to undermine the enforcement of these vital federal immigration laws.
Once again hypocrisy rules in de Blasio’s words, deeds and policies.
Our nation’s immigration laws make absolutely no distinction or even provide any language that pertains to the issues of race, religion or ethnicity.
Nevertheless, a frequent but utterly bogus claim made by the “leaders” of these sanctuary jurisdictions is that they seek to protect the “immigrants” from “unconstitutional” actions of federal immigration authorities and are concerned about the harm that our immigration laws may have on the civil rights of aliens who are illegally present in the United States.
The oft-claimed concerns voiced by these immigration anarchists, about how enforcing our immigration laws violates the Constitution, completely ignores Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution, which states:
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.”
Invasion, incidentally, has been defined, in part, as:
An incursion by a large number of people or things into a place or sphere of activity or an unwelcome intrusion into another’s domain.
Today there are tens millions of aliens who have either evaded the inspections process conducted at ports of entry by CBP (Customs and Border Protection) inspectors or were lawfully admitted into the United States and then subsequently violated their terms of admission.
Certainly, the term invasion is appropriate to describe the huge number of foreign nationals (aliens) who are illegally present in our country, undermining public health, public safety, national security and the jobs and wages of Americans.
It is clear that opponents of immigration law enforcement are actually opposed to the Constitution itself and the protections it provides to America and Americans.
Just as the attacks by the anarchists began with attacks on immigration law enforcement that have now metastasized to include the police and all forms of law enforcement, remember Nancy Pelosi referred to federal agents as “Storm Troopers.” It is clear that the anarchists increasingly are seeking to dismantle all of our Constitutionally-protected freedoms, especially our First and Second Amendment rights, as I noted recently in my piece, “Attacks on Law Enforcement Are Attacks on America.”
If Mayor de Blasio wants to raise money for NYC he could charge admission to anyone willing to enter the city’s limits so that they could experience, up close and in person, a city where the loons are running the asylum! I doubt, however, that too many would be willing to enter, let alone pay to witness the “freak show.”
It is clear that the radical politicians aren’t really concerned about public health or public safety but about consolidating their grip on political power, no matter the subsequent cost in human lives.
