FLORIDA: State Representative Announces Switch From Democrat To Republican Party

Florida State Rep. Hillary Cassel announced Friday that she is switching her party affiliation from Democrat to Republican.

Cassel, who represents Florida’s 101st House district, announced the switch in a Twitter post. She cited concerns over the Democratic Party’s “failure to unequivocally support Israel” and what she calls its disconnect from everyday Floridians. Cassel is now the second Florida Democrat to join the GOP, along with Rep. Susan Valdés from Tampa.

“Today, I am announcing my decision to change my party affiliation from Democrat to Republican. This decision was not made lightly but comes from a deep sense of responsibility to my constituents and my commitment to the values that guide my service. I will be joining the Republican Conference of the Florida House of Representatives because I believe in their vision for a better, more prosperous Florida,” Cassel wrote in a statement.

“As a proud Jewish woman,” she continued. “I have been increasingly troubled by the Democratic Party’s failure to unequivocally support Israel and its willingness to tolerate extreme progressive voices that justify or condone acts of terrorism. I’m constantly troubled by the inability of the current Democratic Party to relate to everyday Floridians. I can no longer remain in a party that doesn’t represent my values.”

Cassel seemed to signal the switch earlier in December, tweeting an infographic depicting the overwhelming Republican majorities in Florida’s upcoming legislative session.

“Understanding the makeup of our State Legislature is key to navigating the upcoming session and addressing the needs of Floridians,” she wrote.

Florida House Speaker Daniel Perez endorsed the move, writing, “I am proud to share that @RepCassel has joined our House Republican Conference. Welcome to the team!”

House District 101 includes Dania Beach and portions of Broward County. Cassel won the seat in 2022 with 53% of the vote, defeating Republican challenger Guy Silla, who won 46% of the vote. Her current term expires in November 2026. The 101st District also swung 16 points towards the GOP, shifting from Joe Biden +14 in 2020 to Donald Trump +2 in 2024, according to a tweet from @Uncrewed, who writes about statewide elections on Substack.

Here’s How Trump Admin Could Help Crush Censorship Industry

The Trump administration has a major opportunity to deal a blow to the sprawling censorship industry, both inside the government and in the private sector.

Trump promised in a campaign video from Dec. 2022 to “shatter the left-wing censorship regime” by, among other proposals, signing an executive order banning agencies from collaborating with private platforms to suppress speech and ordering the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate parties involved in censorship.

“If Trump takes the steps that he has indicated he will, one focus of anti-censorship efforts I anticipate is nonprofits like the Atlantic Council and Stanford Internet Observatory [SIO] that operate as middlemen between the government and the tech companies,” New Civil Liberties Alliance attorney Jenin Younes told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “As President, Trump should ensure that the White House and his executive agencies do not work with these groups to censor ‘mis’ or ‘disinformation.’ In fact, all government efforts in the MDM [misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation] sphere should end, since this clearly results in suppressing First Amendment protected speech.”

Under the Biden administration, White House staff made explicit requests for platforms to restrict COVID-19 related speech. Other agencies participated in speech suppression, with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) flagging posts for removal and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) forwarding misinformation reports from local election officials to platforms, a practice they called “switchboarding.”

CISA likewise helped create of the Election Integrity Partnership in 2020, which the SIO played a key role in running, to monitor “misinformation” and report it to platforms during the 2020 election. A federal judge declined last week to dismiss a lawsuit against the SIO, along with several other groups, over their alleged targeting of conservative speech.

“Private entities cannot be permitted to partner with the government to censor Americans’ speech,” Nicholas R. Barry, America First Legal Senior Counsel, said in a statement.

Younes told the DCNF she would like to see “punishment for government actors who have violated Americans’ First Amendment rights.”

“At this time, such individuals manage to escape accountability for their actions because of doctrines like qualified immunity,” she said. “However, there can be exceptions to qualified immunity when government officials knowingly flout people’s civil rights, and those exceptions should be applied in the First Amendment context.”

Trump’s other suggestions included firing bureaucrats who have engaged in censorship, ensuring federal dollars do not go towards nonprofits and universities labeling domestic speech as misinformation and asking Congress to revise Section 230 to “get big online platforms out of censorship.”

The Biden administration has issued $267 million in grant funding for projects including the term “misinformation,” including $127 million specifically relating to COVID-19, according to a November Open The Books report. The DCNF reported in 2023 on several projects funded by the NSF to develop censorship tools, including a dashboard to forecast misinformation “trends” and another studying how misinformation influences online networks.

‘Smash This Censorship Cartel’

Many Trump nominees have been vocal about their commitment to promoting free speech.

Andrew Ferguson, who Trump selected as the new Federal Trade Commission (FTC) chair, said on War Room in late November that Trump can cut off some censorship outright, ordering officials to stop communicating with platforms and ending government funding for entities participating in speech suppression. But private censorship would likely move to “new fronts,” he noted, making it important for the FTC to take “investigative steps.”

Ferguson said “advertiser cartels” could violate antitrust laws by agreeing to boycott certain shows, podcasts and platforms.

“If the government is going to get out of the business here in the states of cooperating and colluding with the platforms to suppress the speech that they don’t like, then it’s up to the FTC to make sure that that sort of cooperation and collusion doesn’t move into the private sector,” Ferguson said.

Trump’s pick to lead the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Brennan Carr likewise said in a NewsNation interview that one of his top priorities would be to “smash this censorship cartel.”

Other appointees took strong stances on censorship. Jay Bhattacharya, Trump’s choice for National Institute for Health (NIH) head, co-authored the Great Barrington Declaration pushing back on COVID-19 lockdowns and responses. United States Department of Health and Human Services Secretary nominee Robert F. Kennedy Jr. brought his own lawsuit against the Biden administration for alleged First Amendment violations.

Harmeet Dhillon, who is set to run the DOJ’s civil rights division, worked with her firm on a case challenging the California Secretary of State’s Office coordination with Twitter to suppress speech.

Continued Litigation

While the Supreme Court found in June that plaintiffs who challenged the Biden administration’s censorship efforts failed to link their accounts’ restrictions to the government’s communications with platforms, the Missouri v. Biden lawsuit is ongoing. In November, the district court allowed the plaintiffs to pursue more discovery to establish the government’s involvement.

“Depending on the approach the Administration takes, it is conceivable that cases like ours could resolve in a consent decree, in which the government acknowledges its wrongdoing and takes various specific steps to safeguard against future violations of Americans’ First Amendment free speech rights,” Younes told the DCNF regarding the case.

The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) recently launched a new Center for Free Speech aimed at targeting censorship entities, pointing to the “new opportunity” free speech defenders will have as Trump takes office.

ADF Senior Counsel Phil Sechler told the DCNF the center is intended to create “substantial pushback on global censorship,” which he said has increased over the past decade by both private and government actors.

Potential targets include state level election laws, like the California laws targeting political satire that ADF already filed a lawsuit against on behalf of the Babylon Bee, along with debanking practices and other censorship by private actors.

“There is a lot of work to be done to dismantle this censorship industrial complex that’s been built up over many years,” Sechler told the DCNF.

NEW YORK: Gov. Hochul Signs Law Forcing Energy Companies To Pay Billions in the Name of Climate Hoax

The increasingly deranged Governor Kathy Hochul signed Climate (hoax) Superfund legislation forcing customers to pay more for Democrat pork.

Hochul approved a controversial law that will force oil, natural-gas and coal companies to fork over a staggering $75 billion to the state for ‘carbon emissions’ and allegedly contributing to ‘climate change.’

Representatives for the energy industry said the new law is a declaration of war against firms that provide energy and power to New York.

More than three dozen energy firms and business advocates sent a letter to Hochul on Dec. 5, urging her to veto the bill.

Remember, when Democrats talk about taxing “business” – that’s us, that’s people. Business is people, workers. It’s us. It’s always us.

Democrats Ramp Up War on Fossil Fuels as New York Governor Signs Law Forcing Energy Companies To Pay Billions in the Name of Climate Change

The American Petroleum Institute says the new law is ‘nothing more than a punitive new fee on American energy.’

Bradely Cortlight, NY Sun, Dec. 26, 2024:

Major fossil fuel companies will be required to hand over billions of dollars to help pay for New York State’s efforts to fight climate change under a new law signed by the governor Thursday.

Governor Hochul signed the Climate Change Superfund Act, creating a new requirement that companies seen as responsible for the majority of carbon emissions between 2000 and 2024 will have to pay roughly $3 billion a year for the next 25 years.

The funds will be used to pay for new infrastructure meant to withstand the impacts of more flooding or more extreme weather some blame on climate change. The funds would also be used to pay for repairs to damage caused by extreme weather events.

In a statement, Ms. Hochul said, “With nearly every record rainfall, heat wave, and coastal storm, New Yorkers are increasingly burdened with billions of dollars in health, safety, and environmental consequences due to polluters that have historically harmed our environment.

“Establishing the Climate Superfund is the latest example of my administration taking action to hold polluters responsible for the damage done to our environment and requiring major investments in infrastructure and other projects critical to protecting our communities and economy,” she added.

A New York state senator, Liz Krueger, celebrated the law and said the state “has fired a shot that will be heard round the world: the companies most responsible for the climate crisis will be held accountable.”

Fossil fuel and business groups opposed the implementation of the law. The American Petroleum Institute said it “represents nothing more than a punitive new fee on American energy, and we are evaluating our options moving forward.”

Meanwhile, the Business Council of New York State and more than 30 other business organizations urged Ms. Hochul to veto the bill earlier this month.

The groups argued that it “targets sellers of fossil fuels while ignoring users as a contributor to emissions” and said the law would “certainly face a long and costly legal challenge.”

New York’s law will not go into effect immediately as officials still have to develop a system to identify which companies they believe are the largest emitters and provide them notice that they must pay.

Gaza—A sense of Déjà vu

All the current “mainstream” proposals for the “Day After” in Gaza represent the triumph of misguided hope—or at least, misconceived correctness—over bitter experience.

“You cannot solve a problem with the same mind that created it.” — Albert Einstein

Sadly, the discussion of the fate of Gaza in general, and of the “Day After” in particular, is taking on an eerily familiar look—ominously reminiscent of the discussions of yesteryear.

Misperceptions and misconceptions

Draped in the same misperceptions and misconceptions of the Oslowian era, the debate on Israel’s emerging post-October 7 policy initiatives appears to be treading down the very same tragic path that precipitated the grisly events almost 15 months ago.

After all, it was the Oslo process that handed over Gaza to Yassir Arafat, in the hopelessly misguided hope that he had relinquished the path of violence and wished to build a more peaceful and prosperous future for his people.

Indeed, the entire Oslo process was predicated on the assumption that Israel could locate some “domesticated” Palestinian, with both the will and the authority to forge a lasting peace with the Jewish state. This is, of course, precisely the conceptual underpinning of all the current mainstream proposals for the various “Day After” scenarios—with the amical (or at least non inimical) Palestinian entity/ies being either (a) some non-Hamas strongman (such as Mohammed Dahlan, himself a man with “impressive” terrorist credentials), (b)chieftains of local clans (hamulot), who have expressed little appetite for taking on such challenge, or (c) some flimsily disguised re-concocted version of Palestinian Authority, something which could not possibly more myopic or misconceived, and unmistakably evocative of the definition of insanity as repeatedly trying the same thing while “expecting a different result”.

Triumph of hope over experience

Indeed, even under the highly implausible assumption that some as yet-be-identified Palestinian interlocutor could be located, who has both the genuine desire and necessary authority to initiate—and endeavor to establish—conditions of non-belligerent stability alongside the Jewish state, this is something that is most unlikely to endure.

After all, it is more than probable that any such arrangement will face stiff resistance both from within and without Gaza, with recurring attempts to violate it and to overthrow those party to it. Accordingly, as all the various “Day-After” proposals envisage any future governing entity in Gaza as being demilitarized, any prospective pliant Palestinian partner/s will be totally dependent on the IDF to ensure not only his/their continued ability to administer his/their allotted obligations—but also his/their continued ability to breathe.

Thus, at best, all these schemes represent the triumph of hope (or at least politically correctness) over bitter experience. For they are all born of a denial of the fact that Arab animosity is not rooted in what the Jewish state does, but in what the Jewish state is—i.e., Jewish.

Accordingly, the Palestinian-Arabs cannot be considered a prospective peace partner but an implacable enemy. They must be treated as such.

Even in Gaza. Even the “Day After.”

WARNING: The Globalists Never Retreat

“I dare hope that all the peoples who have lived through communism will understand that communism is to blame for the bitter pages of their history.” — Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

2025 is a New Year and America is getting a second chance. We still must understand no matter how much exposure communists get, they will never go away unless…We recognize it it up to We the People to take back our power. Donald Trump made a lot of campaign promises but he can’t fix America on his own. It will take all of us to expose the corruption that the communist DNC will deny at all costs. We must be the ones to conduct oversight on our legislators. WE have no idea what they do behind the scenes but we must remember what they have done and how they did it. Globalists never retreat, they go underground and march forward.

First Communists/Democrats/Globalists (a.k.a. Globalists) came for the Constitution…they call it a living breathing document subject to constant change. They want it replaced with their UN Declaration of Human Rights which claims the Government and UN grants your rights. Whatever man grants, man can take away.

Then the Globalists got patriots to sign way their liberty for security. As a result of the Patriot Act Americans have neither liberty or security.

Then the Globalists got Congress to sell out the American citizens without due process in the name of fighting terror while refusing to name the real terrorists — NDAA

Then the Globalists turned the children on their parents. Reporting is done in school through a series of probing questions on the computer using specific algorithms on the national data base designed for children to report on their parents. The Trans agenda coupled with Common Core learning is designed to keep the people ignorant while destroying the family unit.. Approximately half of Americans are functionally literate.

Then the Globalists came for the Judeo-Christians by demanding they participate in killing their unborn in Obamacare and arresting them for praying in front of abortion clinics. Oppressive power hungry Globalists closed churches due to Covid the CCPvirus.

Now Globalists are coming after “We The People/Americans” by promoting communism in a fraudulent election.

The Green New Deal (GND) is a copy of Agenda 21/2030 following the UN programs of sustainability (do more for less). It is the goal for the UN take over of the sovereignty of America, causing a loss of American freedom and liberty and elimination of private property. Elimination of the 2nd Amendment is on the menu. UN Agenda 21 is the plan using the environment to control human activity. Pres Trump said NO Way but it is up to us to make sure that Congress is on the same track.

Another goal of UN Agenda 21 is to depopulate the planet by claiming there are too many humans. Progressives use phony science of man made global warming designed to control human activity not save the planet. If people are guided into believing in warmth, they will not prepare for extreme cold. Crops will freeze, less food will create food shortages which will kill people. Inflation couples with using corn for fuel caused food prices to escalate. Was CCPvirus designed to kill off the older population (less useless eaters.) Goal accomplished.

Globalists are atheists and many believe in GAIA, “mother earth is god” They have waged war against all religious groups. They are determined to remove all mention of GOD (you know, the “THING”) from every place possible because God must be replaced by your allegiance to the STATE and the UN. They fail to realize that God and morality are part of the soul of America and can not be removed by eliminating mere words. Question should be asked, if there is no g-d, then where do your rights come from?

Globalists are Republicans or Democrats who are cloaked in their new definition of Globalism. Students are taught to repel America and replace America by becoming global citizens Americans, now are describes as the enemy, will you be silenced by fear. You will be cancelled. Americans are finally realizing the only way Globalists have power is if Americans give it to them.

Globalists want your land for the good of the collective and use unproven, overly expensive central planning (never presented with financial information) for sustainable developments designed to redistribute your wealth and steal your private property through rezoning schemes and conservation easements. With the rise of Nationalism, we learned through this last election Globalists are in the minority. They are comprised of ignorant Americans, mostly young adults and politically ignorant adults assisted by a compliant media carrying the communism message cloaked in warm fuzzy words. Globalists are determined to secure the prize, America, (with all of its natural riches) and transform America into a communist police state.

Bush 41 Executive Order 12803—Infrastructure Privatization allowing countries to purchase American land. Today China, Canada Iran own American farmland and roads. According to the US Constitution, the Federal government doesn’t own land. They hold it for We the People. This unconstitutional Executive Order must be repealed.

We are many, they are few. This election proves that. The only way Globalists can win is by cheating. If you are silent you allow them to control you.

Is America worth saving? What can you do:

Contact your legislator and demand they follow the law. What good are laws if they are not applied equally?

Remember:

  1. Everything is connected
  2. Nothing is random
  3. There are no coincidences
  4. Everything has a plan. ALL PLANS ARE BASED ON LIES.

Mexico Concerned Trump May Order Military Strikes On Cartels

As tensions continue to rise between the United States and Mexico over drug trafficking and cartel violence, Mexican officials have expressed deep concerns regarding the potential of a military strike ordered by former President Donald Trump against drug cartels operating within their borders.

This apprehension reflects both the ongoing security crisis in Mexico and the complex relationship between the two neighboring countries.

BACKGROUND

Mexico has long struggled with the influence and power of drug cartels, which have become deeply entrenched in various aspects of society. These criminal organizations are responsible for significant violence, including turf wars, kidnappings, and the trafficking of illegal drugs into the United States. The situation has deteriorated in recent years, with record levels of homicides attributed to cartel-related activities.

Trump has made combating drug trafficking a cornerstone for his future administration, often using strong rhetoric that included the possibility of using military force against cartels. His approach to border security and drug enforcement was characterized by a willingness to take aggressive measures, which has left Mexican officials wary of the implications such policies could have on their sovereignty and public safety.

RECENT DEVELOPMENTS

Since Trump began to plan his run for the presidency in 2024, his statements regarding drug cartels have reignited fears in Mexico. The prospect of a military strike is particularly alarming for Mexican leaders, who worry that such actions could escalate violence and undermine efforts to stabilize the country. Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has emphasized the need for cooperation and dialogue rather than unilateral military interventions.

DIPLOMATIC CONCERNS

The potential for military action raises significant diplomatic concerns. Mexico has long valued its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and any unilateral action by the U.S. would be viewed as an infringement on these principles. This could strain relations between the two nations, which have historically relied on cooperation to address shared challenges, including drug trafficking and immigration.

Moreover, the Mexican government has been working to strengthen its law enforcement capabilities and address corruption within its own ranks. A military strike from the U.S. could undermine these efforts and damage the trust that is necessary for effective collaboration in tackling organized crime.

PUBLIC SENTIMENT

Public sentiment in Mexico regarding U.S. intervention is mixed. While many citizens are frustrated with the ongoing violence and the perceived inability of the government to control the situation, there is also a strong desire for solutions that respect the country’s sovereignty. The idea of U.S. military action is often met with skepticism and fears of further violence and instability.

UNITED KINGDOM: Reform Party becomes second largest, overtakes Conservatives for the first time ever

For the first time, the Reform UK Party has surpassed the oldest political party in membership numbers, becoming the second largest party in the UK. Reform UK now has more members than the 131,680 Conservative base.

Reform UK had merely 40,000 members in June, when Farage returned as its leader.

The Conservative Party has also seen “a number of significant Conservative defections to its ranks.” That’s because the Conservatives went too far left under the misguided idea that it would gain support from more centrist liberals. The left has become so radical and woke that many Western voters are finally waking up to the fact that Western countries are losing their freedoms, its collective common sense, and the rule of law.

There’s still a long way to go in Britain. Labour membership was at 366,604 in March 2024; since then, however, its leader Keir Starmer has become “more unpopular after five months than any other PM in over 40 years.”

WATCH: ‘Trump effect’: Reform UK overtakes Tories in membership numbers

“Reform membership overtakes Conservative Party membership for first time,” by Millie Cooke, Independent, December 26, 2024:

Membership of Reform UK has surpassed that of the Conservatives, Nigel Farage’s party has claimed, making it the second-largest political party in the UK.

A digital counter on the Reform website showed a membership tally before lunchtime on Boxing Day ticking past the 131,680 figure declared by the Conservative Party during its leadership election earlier this year.
Mr Farage said it was a “historic moment”, as he posted on X: “The youngest political party in British politics has just overtaken the oldest political party in the world.
“Reform UK are now the real opposition.”…

Israel Considers Opening ‘The Gates Of Hell’ To Bring The Hostages Home

There is a sense Trump is focused on the captives and securing a decisive victory to end the war. How this is achieved does not seem to concern him.

Dec. 25, 2024 / Israel Hayom—JNS Beginning on Jan. 20, 2025, “it will be possible to take additional actions in Gaza,” senior Israeli officials say.

The prevailing impression in Israel is that President-elect Donald Trump does not particularly care what measures Israel employs in the Gaza Strip. He has two clear objectives: the release of the hostages, and an Israeli victory to conclude the war. The methods to achieve these aims appear irrelevant to him.

In Jerusalem, as well as in the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv, preparations for the Trump era are being kept under strict secrecy. When that moment arrives, if no deal has been reached by then, Israel is expected to reset the rules of engagement against Hamas.

Many of the tools restricted by Biden’s administration, alongside specific demands on Israel, will no longer apply.

A senior Israeli official expressed hope that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Maj. Gen. (res.) Nitzan Alon—the head of the Missing and Captive Soldiers Section in the Military Intelligence Directorate—will seize the opportunity to operate “entirely out of the box.”

The official emphasized the need to break away from the current pattern, where the terrorist organization sustains itself through hostages or uses terrorists released by Israel to replenish its ranks.

What actions could Israel take that are currently off the table?

According to the source, humanitarian aid that the Biden administration has insisted Israel deliver to Gaza will no longer matter to Trump. Reducing such aid, or taking full control over what enters the Strip, could worsen Hamas’s situation and increase pressure on the organization to release the hostages.

Another critical aspect is armaments. Trump has pledged to release all the weapons shipments currently delayed under Biden on his first day in office. Once the delayed bombs and shells arrive, the IDF will have the means to significantly expand its operations.

Additionally, the official noted that population transfers—if deemed necessary by Israel for dismantling Hamas or securing the hostages—would likely face little opposition under Trump. Israeli officials believe that the new administration will not demand accountability, with the message being: “Do what you need to do. We won’t dictate your actions.”

From Jan. 20 onward, Netanyahu would no longer need to justify measures such as providing fuel and dual-use materials to Gaza under U.S. pressure. Instead, he would have Trump’s support to halt these supplies entirely. Drastic measures from the war’s early days, such as limiting electricity and water, could be reinstated.

If no agreement is reached in the coming weeks, Israel could intensify alternative approaches, such as offering financial rewards or exile deals. While the IDF and Shin Bet have so far pursued this strategy cautiously, posters have been distributed across Gaza, and messages dictated by Hamas in hostage videos suggest that the offer has reached them.

However, deeper and more sophisticated efforts in this direction remain possible.

Israeli officials believe Hamas understands what may happen on Jan. 20, and this recognition has influenced its recent willingness to negotiate. Nonetheless, the organization’s recurring inflexibility may leave Jerusalem with no choice but to fulfill Trump’s expectations, opening the gates of hell on Hamas to bring the hostages home.

Looking forward to 2025!

Today we learned that Bill Gates is the latest of the Deep State billionaires to beg an invitation to Mar-a-Lago to meet with President-elect Donald Trump.

For sure, he has a scheme to sell the once and future president. US government support for vaccinations in Africa, or some other pet project of the Gates Foundation? Or perhaps a seat on the Artificial Intelligence panel? I am sure I am not alone in wishing the incoming president will greet Gates with all the skepticism he has earned.

The man who sponsored a pandemic war gaming exercise just two months before the Covid outbreak deserves an audience — and then, the door.

Another pretender jockeying for position in Trump World is Robert Fico, Slovakia’s prime minister. Fico was in Moscow to meet with Putin this week, offering his services as a neutral arbiter for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.

Fico is one of Europe’s odd men out, who has rejected the neo-con War Hawk Party who think Europe can only survive if Russia is crushed.

Like Lindsay Graham here in the US, they seem to have forgotten five hundred years of European history, during which Russia has always been a Great Power. (Until the Bolshevik Revolution, the rest of Europe either allied with Russia or allied against Russia, depending on which of their own rivals they wanted to best).

“We are not opposed” to talks hosted by Slovakia, Putin said, giving Pico a boost.

Zelenskyy has yet to comment on the Slovakian offer, but has repeatedly criticized Fico for not openly supporting Ukraine in years past. But in an interview this week with the French daily Le Parisien, he admitted that Ukraine did not have the force to remove Russian troops from Crimea the Donbas, both of which have effectively been under Russian control since 2014.

Clearly, both Zelenskyy and Putin are waiting for the Sheriff to return to the White House.

So far, mum’s the word from the man Trump has appointed as his special envoy to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Lt. Gen. (ret) Keith Kellogg. (I have had the privilege to work under Kellogg this past year as a senior fellow at the Center for American Security at the America First Policy Institute).

China, of course, is another major challenge the incoming president and America will face in 2025.

The Chinese foreign ministry hurled invective at the Biden administration this week, saying it was “playing with fire” for sending more military aid to Taiwan. The aid in question, a modest $571 million defense assistance package, certainly didn’t “undermine peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait,” as the Chinese claimed. But it gave them an opportunity to remind the incoming administration they aren’t going to roll over.

Some believe Trump will cut a “grand bargain” with China, sacrificing military aid to Taiwan for a gigantic trade deal. And while Trump could indeed lead the Chinese to believe they could be so lucky, my guess is his end goal is quite different. Peace through strength is his underlying defense strategy. A strong Taiwan, capable of resisting Chinese communist aggression, fits into that.

Trump is also making progress with the Israeli hostages still held by Hamas since October 7, 2023, merely by threatening there will be “all hell to pay” if they are not released by the inaugural. My prediction is that Hamas will play this one right down to the wire, and when their efforts to retain some of the hostages as further bargaining chips fails, they will cave at the last minute.

In Syria, evidence is emerging of mass graves of Assad’s victims, with new estimates that the former Syrian dictator tortured and murdered as many as 100,000 of his fellow citizens.

Where is Pope Francis faced with such a massive assault of basic human rights? Oh yes, I forgot. He is criticizing the Jews. In a forthcoming book, called Hope, he reportedly is calling for an investigation to see if israel is committing a “genocide” against Palestinian Muslims in Gaza. Meanwhile, he has remained silent as the Catholic Church is being wiped out in Communist China, and jihadi Muslims target Christians in Nigeria, the Republic of Congo, Mali, Niger, Mozambique, and elsewhere in Africa.

As I have said many times, the jihadi Muslims don’t care what sect you belong to. You can be Syrian Orthodox, Catholic, Presbyterian, or Evangelical, the jihadis are equal-opportunity murderers of Christians. For them, there is no “church” other than the Persecuted Church, as I report in several chapters of my latest book, The Iran House.

For now, the new Syrian regime led by the Islamist HTS has been making nice to minorities, including both Kurds and Christians. This past week, for example, after foreign jihadis torched a Christmas tree in a Christian village in Central Syria, the new regime had them arrested.

Will this example of tolerance last, or is it just taqqiya, the traditional Muslim practice of lying to delude the infidels? Time will tell.

2025 will be a year of momentous change around the world. So far, most of the augurs look good.

I discuss these topics in more detail in this week’s edition of Prophecy Today Weekend. As always you can listen live at 1 PM on Saturday on 104.9 FM and 550 AM in the Jacksonville, Florida, area, or later by using this link to the podcast.

The U.S. Army’s Impact on Iconic Musicians Tony Bennett, Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix and Kris Kristofferson

TONY BENNETT

Tony Bennett spent one fateful Christmas Eve in a much different setting than you might expect the crooner of over 8 decades— picture Europe, during the height of World War II. As an Infantryman, he experienced the horrors of war firsthand. Yet, amidst the devastation, he sang for his fellow Soldiers, using music to bring a sense of normalcy and hope. His Army experiences deepened his empathy, a quality that would later resonate in his heartfelt performances of classics like I Left My Heart in San Francisco.

ELVIS PRESLEY

It was Christmas time in the late 1950s, and a young soldier named Elvis Presley was stationed in Friedberg, Germany. Despite being the world’s biggest rock ‘n’ roll star, Presley was just another GI, spending the holidays far from home. Although he could not officially perform for the troops, he would sing familiar carols for his fellow Soldiers, creating moments of joy and camaraderie. His time in the Army taught him discipline and humility, shaping his persona as not just a superstar, but a man deeply connected to his roots and his country.

JIMMY HENDRIX

A young paratrooper named Jimi Hendrix spent a cold Christmas in the barracks of Fort Campbell, Kentucky. His guitar was his refuge, a way to escape the rigors of Army life. Hendrix’s time in the 101st Airborne Division wasn’t without its challenges, but the discipline and determination he developed during his service would later fuel his relentless pursuit of musical greatness, inspiring iconic performances like his patriotic and powerful rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

KRIS KRISTOFFERSON

Kris Kristofferson, a Rhodes Scholar turned Army helicopter pilot, found himself reflecting on his life during a quiet Christmas overseas. Kristofferson’s Army service gave him a profound sense of duty and resilience, qualities that later infused his music. Songs like Sunday Morning Coming Down carried the depth of someone who had experienced life’s hardships but still held onto hope.

Each of these men, forged in the crucible of military service, carried the lessons of their Army days into their music careers. Their experiences taught them the value of brotherhood, sacrifice, and resilience—lessons especially touching during the holiday season.

As Christmas lights twinkle and carols fill the air, it’s easy to imagine these four legends reflecting on how the Army shaped their lives, not just as musicians but as men. Their songs continue to inspire, reminding us all that even in the hardest times, the human spirit endures, finding harmony in the most unexpected places.

And so, as we celebrate the holidays, let us remember the soldiers who serve and sacrifice, and the music that carries their legacy forward.

Questioning Vaccines Shouldn’t Be Verboten

In the Harry Potter series, the villain, Lord Voldemort, is known as “He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.” There’s a similar sentiment whenever someone expresses a heterodox opinion on vaccines.

The long knives are already out for Health and Human Services secretary nominee Robert F. Kennedy Jr. While there are valid concerns among pro-life activists, the most prominent objection is Kennedy’s vaccine skepticism.

Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., labeled Kennedy a “denier of science.” Kennedy has pushed “the scientifically discredited belief that childhood vaccines cause autism,” The New York Times wrote.

Donald Trump isn’t backing down. In a recent NBC interview, Kristen Welker asked Trump whether childhood vaccines should be eliminated.

“If they’re dangerous for the children,” he replied. He continued, “Take a look at autism. Go back 25 years. Autism was almost nonexistent. It was, you know, one out of 100,000. And now it’s close to one out of 100.”

After Welker asserted that studies show no link between vaccines and autism, Trump responded, “I mean, something is going on. I don’t know if it’s vaccines. Maybe it’s chlorine in the water, right?” He concluded, “We have to find out.”

On another subject, this answer would sound like a dodge. All Trump said is that children shouldn’t be exposed to dangerous things and that he wants to know what’s causing autism. But because he’s talking about vaccines, it’s a jarring comment.

Look at the disdain America’s Chicken Little elites and the propaganda press heap on anyone who dares to question vaccine orthodoxy. That ranges from NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers to moms who don’t follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention vaccination schedule. But that’s a mistake.

For one, this reaction suggests the supposed experts have something to hide. They don’t want to bury their opponents with studies showing how they’re right. They want to shame them into silence or destroy their professional lives.

This is the same tactic the Left uses against those who believe in intelligent design or question global warming alarmism. But ad hominem attacks are a logical fallacy, not a sign of a strong intellectual argument.

The next problem is that stifling discussion limits nuance and new discoveries. Doctors once recommended older adults take a daily dose of baby aspirin to ward off cardiovascular disease. In 2022, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force reversed course for adults without heart disease. They concluded the risk of bleeding was greater than the number of heart attacks prevented. Even beneficial drugs have trade-offs.

These kinds of discussions should be had about vaccines. A century ago, whooping cough killed 6,000 children a year. As the name implies, whooping cough is spread through the air. It’s especially deadly for babies. Thanks to vaccines, there were only around 3,000 cases of whooping cough in the U.S. in 2022. That’s a medical miracle.

In contrast, Hepatitis B is spread primarily by sexual contact or dirty needles. That’s much less of a threat to newborns than an airborne virus. Yet, the CDC recommends infants receive the Hepatitis B vaccine at birth, 1 month, and 6 months. The CDC also recommends 6-month-olds get the COVID-19 vaccine. Healthy children have a vanishingly small risk of dying from COVID-19. The COVID-19 vaccine, however, has been linked to heart problems, especially in young males.

Perhaps there are trade-offs to the CDC now recommending some infants receive more than 20 vaccines by the time they’re 6 months old. Just like with baby aspirin, that topic shouldn’t be off limits to continued study and debate.

Finally, doing something different may lead to answers on autism, which Trump correctly notes has exploded. If the supposed experts can’t figure out why it’s growing so rapidly, then it’s time to investigate possible answers the “experts” previously dismissed.

RFK may end up being wrong about a lot, but he’s right on this. Raising questions about vaccines shouldn’t be verboten.

10 New Ideas to Make America’s Economy Great Again in 2025

Here’s my wish list for the incoming Trump administration to make America healthy and prosperous and great again in 2025.

1. Slash Job-Killing Regulations

The regulatory state is a $2 trillion tax on the American economy. We all want worker safety, a clean environment, and consumer protections, but in too many cases the costs of regulations far outweigh the societal benefits. President-elect Donald Trump has promised to slash 10 rules for every new rule. Just do it, Mr. President.

2. Make the Trump Tax Cuts Permanent

As JFK, Ronald Reagan, and others have proven throughout history, lower tax rates lead to more growth, more investment, and more jobs. The Trump tax cuts meant that a typical family of four earning $75,000 a year saw their tax bill fall by half—a benefit valued at more than $2,000. And the corporate tax rate fell from 35%—the highest in the world—to 21%, bringing jobs and capital to America. Trump has promised to make all these tax cuts permanent. Why? Because they worked almost exactly as we anticipated they would.

3. Replace Welfare With Work

Growth will require more able-bodied Americans getting off welfare and into jobs. Welfare—which includes cash assistance, public housing, food stamps, disability payments, unemployment benefits, and Medicaid—needs to be a hand-up, not a handout.

4. Use America’s Abundant Natural Resources

America has well more than $50 trillion of natural resources that are accessible with existing drilling and mining technologies. This is a vast storehouse of wealth that far surpasses what any other nation is endowed with. We can use the royalty payments and leases to reduce our national debt while creating hundreds of thousands of jobs.

5. Cut Medical Costs by Demanding Health Care Price Transparency

One of many ways to bring health care costs down to consumers (and taxpayers, who pay half the costs) is to require hospitals, pharmacies, doctors, and health clinics to list prices for what they are charging. The Committee to Unleash Prosperity estimates that $1 trillion to $2 trillion could be reduced from health care costs, with no reduction in the quality of care, by allowing consumers to shop around on the internet for the best price—just as we do when we buy groceries, a home, or a car. This will foster free market competition and lower prices.

6. Allow School Choice for All Families

Test scores in America have been plummeting. Kids are graduating from high school—if at all—without even being able to read the diploma. America no longer ranks in the top 10 in many academic achievement ratings.

A child can get a better education at half the cost in the Catholic school system and in many charters.

Trump has endorsed universal school choice for all children regardless of income or ethnicity or race. This is the civil rights issue of our time.

7. Implement a Pro-America Immigration Policy

Trump is committed to securing our border, but we also need legal immigrants through a merit-based immigration system. This visa system would select immigrants based on their skills, talents, investment capital, English language ability, and education level. These characteristics all presage success in America.

8. Revive America’s Great Cities

Our once-great cities in America—from New York to Chicago to Detroit to San Francisco to Seattle—have come to look like war zones. Crime has run rampant. Businesses and people and capital are fleeing and leaving the poorest Americans—mostly minorities—stranded with tragically limited opportunities other than working at Walmart or McDonald’s for minimum wage. Since 2020, our major cities have lost nearly 1 million residents. And tens of thousands of businesses.

Trump wants to revitalize our cities and abandoned rural areas through deregulation, reduction in tax rates, changes in zoning policies, and infrastructure investments.

9. Pull the U.S. Out of the Paris Climate Change Treaty and Other Anti-America Agreements

We must end American participation in globalist treaties that hurt America most. This includes the Paris climate accords—a treaty with which most other nations have failed to comply, yet which places huge burdens on American companies and workers. Trump also has pledged to end global taxation—such as Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s global minimum tax. Do we even need a United Nations?

10. Finally, Drain the Swamp

Biden Admin Invoked ‘Indigenous Knowledge’ To Cut Alaska Drilling, But Some Tribal Leaders Are Ready For Trump

The Biden administration justified major crackdowns on fossil fuel and mineral development in Alaska by playing up its commitment to Native American tribes, but some community leaders who spoke with the Daily Caller News Foundation said they did not feel respected by the administration

Over the course of the last four years, the Biden administration moved to shut down drilling activity on tens millions of acres of land in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (NPR-A) and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), retroactively canceled lease sales and effectively blocked a major mining project in the state, often touting the administration’s commitment to protecting the environment for native communities in official statements and press releases. However, these actions were a major disappointment to some of Alaska’s natives, who told the DCNF that the administration seems to have mostly ignored their desire to allow development that generates revenues for their communities and that they are ready to work with the incoming Trump administration to strike an appropriate balance.

“With climate change warming the Arctic more than twice as fast as the rest of the planet, we must do everything within our control to meet the highest standards of care to protect this fragile ecosystem,” Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland said in a September 2023 statement after the administration moved to shield 13 million acres from drilling activity in the NPR-A and retroactively canceled lease sales. “President Biden is delivering on the most ambitious climate and conservation agenda in history. The steps we are taking today further that commitment, based on the best available science and in recognition of the Indigenous Knowledge of the original stewards of this area, to safeguard our public lands for future generations.”

However, the administration’s deference to “Indigenous Knowledge” did not mean much to some tribal leaders and officials in light of the government’s apparent disinterest in meaningfully engaging with them about key issues related to resource development.

Nagruk Harcharek is the president of Voice of the Arctic Iñupiat, an organization that represents the interests of numerous native communities in the resource-rich North Slope region of Alaska. In his view, the Biden administration was not particularly interested in hearing what his organization had to say about the value of the economic benefits that resource development provides for his community.

“I started here in 2022. The first thing I did was try to get in there and make sure our voices were heard, because what we’re hearing from the administration is that we’re the most tribally-friendly administration in the history of the United States, right? ” Harcharek told the DCNF. “At least from our perspective, that’s not our impression.”

“We’ve always tried to stress that we are part of the environment. We utilize it for subsistence hunting, for our culture, and it’s extremely important to us. We don’t need to be protected from our own environment,” Harcharek continued. “We can make decisions and help administrations make decisions that are both good for the region and also good for the environment and good for the state, good for the nation. And that just wasn’t the case. There was a lack of engagement, meaningful engagement. Oftentimes, we heard of policy changes in the news and not from phone calls from folks, even though everybody has our number.”

Harcharek says his organization attempted to secure a meeting with Haaland on nine different occasions, but only managed to get a chance in June of this year. Other times, the Department of the Interior (DOI) sent staffers or other officials to meet with them, if their outreach to the government was even returned.

“Sometimes we didn’t even get a response from those emails, so saying that they’re the most tribally-friendly and then not speaking to most of our tribes or us in a timely manner or a meaningful manner, the just question is, who are you? Who considers you the most tribally friendly organization? Because it sure isn’t us, or we’re not getting that sentiment,” Harcharek said.

Doreen Leavitt, secretary for the Inupiat Community of the Arctic Slope (ICAS), also ripped Haaland for lackluster engagement with her community since 2021 and expressed hope that Republican North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum — Trump’s pick to replace Haaland — will be a better leader at DOI.

“Secretary Haaland’s leadership for ICAS and our region was not just deeply frustrating, but it was saddening because as an indigenous woman myself, who wants to see other indigenous women in leadership succeed and grow, her lack of respect for our region was frustrating, to say the least, despite her recognition of tribal stewardship, our requests for consultation on critical issues were ignored or dismissed,” Leavitt told the DCNF. “I don’t know much about Secretary Burgum, other than that he comes from the Dakotas, but we will expect the incoming secretary to provide that meaningful consultation, that transparent process and respect for our tribal sovereignty and self-determination and those things we did not see under Haaland.”

Leavitt also explained that resource development has provided the money her community needed over the past 50 years to establish and maintain basic things like running water, school systems, health clinics, emergency services and more.

Without taking a political stance, Leavitt noted that she and her organization are “especially looking forward to having the government-to-government relationship rights respected” by the incoming Trump administration.

Charles Lampe, the president of Kaktovik Iñupiat Corporation, said that he and his people are looking forward to Trump’s return to power after sensing that most of his community’s concerns about cracking down hard on resource development were “pretty much just cast aside” by the Biden administration.

“We’re really excited about the next four years. With the previous administration, the Trump administration, we had a great relationship. We just felt like we were actually listened to during that time,” Lampe told the DCNF.

EXCLUSIVE: Trump’s Border Czar Has Plan For ‘Super’ Sanctuary County Wanting To Shield Its Criminal Migrants From ICE

Tom Homan, the incoming border czar for the Trump administration, has a plan to deal with a major jurisdiction that recently doubled down on a statewide sanctuary law.

The Democrat-controlled San Diego County Board of Supervisors in December voted to expand a California sanctuary policy that already limited local law enforcement’s ability to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The county-wide ordinance further restricts law enforcement from notifying ICE agents about a foreign national in their custody, even if they have committed severe crimes such as rape, child abuse, burglary or gang violence.

Homan, who has been tasked with fulfilling President-elect Donald Trump’s promise of mass apprehensions and deportations of illegal migrants across the United States, blasted the lawmakers involved with the vote and said they can simply expect more ICE agents in their neighborhoods as a result.

“Rather than arresting an illegal alien criminal in the safety and security of a county jail where we know he doesn’t have weapons, they’re forcing ICE officers into the streets, into neighborhoods to find these people,” Homan said to the Daily Caller News Foundation. “It’s ridiculous.”

“[Sanctuary laws] make it more difficult, but it doesn’t mean we’re not going to do it,” Homan said. “It just means we’ll have more agents in San Diego because rather than one guy arresting a guy in a jail — we have to send a whole team to safely arrest a guy, so they can expect a lot more agents in that jurisdiction.”

In her proposal for the policy change, Democrat Supervisor Nora Vargas referred to the provision within California law that made exceptions for foreign nationals with serious criminal histories as a “loophole” that “fell short of protecting all residents.” The proposal passed by a vote of 3-1, with GOP Supervisor Jim Desmond being the lone vote against it.

The resolution calls on San Diego County to no longer allow ICE agents use of county facilities for any purposes, no longer respond to ICE inquiries, or otherwise assist in any civil immigration enforcement matter.

In a scathing public statement after its passage, Desmond referred to the policy as a “super” sanctuary law that serves to protect illegal migrant criminals.

“This reckless measure not only goes far beyond California’s already extreme Sanctuary State laws but actively endangers our communities by shielding illegal immigrant criminals from deportation. Consider this: under this policy, law enforcement is prohibited from notifying ICE about individuals, in custody, who have committed violent and heinous crimes, including: Rape and stalking, Assault and battery, Burglary, Child abuse and more,” Desmond said in a statement provided to the DCNF earlier in December.

During an interview in December, former Democrat California Gov. Jerry Brown — who signed SB 54 into law in 2017, which prohibits some cooperation between ICE and local authorities — said he believes some cities across the state have now gone “way, way beyond” what he put on the books, and noted that his statewide policy made exceptions for migrants convicted of violent crimes.

The vote in San Diego County was just one of several moves by Democrat-controlled jurisdictions to tighten sanctuary policy in the wake of Trump’s election victory. Lawmakers in Los Angeles, Boston, Arlington County, Virginia and elsewhere have all voted to either make their sanctuary laws official or reaffirm what laws they already had in the books, and other Democrat mayors have voiced public opposition to Trump’s pledges of a hardline immigration enforcement agenda.

These efforts to refuse cooperation could prove to be problematic for the Trump administration’s plans for mass enforcement actions. The Center for Immigration Studies, a Washington, D.C.-based group that advocates for stricter immigration laws, estimates that are nearly eight million illegal migrants currently live within sanctuary jurisdictions.

Homan expressed confusion at politicians who wouldn’t rather have heinous criminals handed over to ICE, rendering them a threat no longer to their constituents.

“I’ve been clear and President Trump’s been clear, we’re going to concentrate on public safety threats right out of the gate,” Homan said to the DCNF. “What elected official doesn’t want public safety threats removed from their community?”

Why the American ‘Swamp’ doesn’t want Israel to win

After a year of war, all those who research the exchange of diplomacy between the US and Israel see the Biden-Harris administration and the government bureaucracy (“The Swamp”) acting in a “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” mode.

There are several popular explanations for this, among them:

  1. The Swamp was not sure that Israel could actually win and did not want to be responsible for “saving it” from the “resistance”.
  2. The war was hurting the Democrat chances to win the elections.
  3. The Swamp and the Democrat party still believe that “diplomacy” is the best way to solve problems.
  4. The Swamp still dream of an Iran Deal
  5. They are afraid the war will spill out over the Middle East and maybe even ignite a world war.

While all these reasons may be debated, the Democrats insist that they have Israel’s best interest in mind. Yet there is yet another reason for the Democrats (The Swamp) siding with Israel’s enemies, and unfortunately, it is much worse than the ones listed above.

The Democrat party, and the basic American political bureaucracy (“The Swamp”) don’t want Israel to win. They never have. Since 1967, the Swamp has acted in a schizophrenic manner towards Israel and has kept it from winning. This included the Republican Party.

When Israel, in 1973, had surrounded the entire 3rd army of Egypt and could have brought the Arab war efforts to unconditional defeat, Nixon (and Kissinger) forced Israel to give in and allow their release.

During the Ronald Reagan years the same swamp would not allow Israel to turn its war in Lebanon into a victory.

The reason the American Swamp, on one hand, lets Israel “defend itself”, but on the other hand not to “win” is simple: It wants the Middle East, and Israel to continue to be reliant on the USA.

It fears that in winning this war, Israel wants to force the Middle East into a region that accepts it (on its terms) and ends continuous war. In doing so, the Israeli narrative of decades, that the Palestinians are the problem in the region and should not be given a state, will be shown to be true.

Israel will not be an ally the American Swamp can force to do what it wants.

The current Israeli government, especially the prime minister, Netanyahu, keeps saying that Israel will “transform” the Middle East.

The American Swamp likes the Middle East the way it’s been for the last 100 years and does NOT want it to change.
