Biden Regime Builds a ‘Climate’ Youth Army

The Biden regime shoved this line item into their obscene bankrupting, bloated budget – an unimaginable eight billion billion dollars  to fund a goodstepping ‘Climate Corps’ program that would hire over 50,000 “climate activists”—more employees than NASA and the EPA combined.

It evokes a climate red guard. Or Hitler youth.

Climate is a hoax.

Biden Builds a Domestic Green Army

He’s shrinking the real Army but arming a political Climate Corps.

Who says Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has no influence? Her vision to mobilize a government Climate Corps to promote green politics is becoming a reality. President Biden wants to shrink the real Army, but his budget includes more than $8 billion for a domestic green political army.

The political model is FDR’s Civilian Conservation Corps, which paid Americans to work when nearly one in four were jobless. The U.S. now has a labor shortage, but the Biden Administration wants to mobilize more than 20,000 initially for the Climate Corps—and some 50,000 by 2031. Ms. Ocasio-Cortez and Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey want the Climate Corps to employ 1.5 million over five years.

“This is not summer camp for climate activists. It’s a job-training program,” says Trevor Dolan of Evergreen Action, a green nonprofit that has lobbied for the Climate Corps. He says participants will learn to install electric heat pumps, solar panels, EV charger and pollution-monitoring equipment, fight forest fires, do wellness checks on the elderly during heat waves and help communities develop disaster plans, among other tasks.

The Sunrise Movement, another far-left outfit, says the Climate Corps can “raise the bar for all employment” and “allow us to use the government as a way of designing our own society and setting new norms for the workplace.” Ah, yes, a children’s crusade to remake America—paid for by your tax dollars.

A Climate Corps memorandum of understanding signed in December by six federal agencies and AmeriCorps says that, “to the extent permitted by law,” the program “will offer a range of compensation and benefits such as housing, transportation, health care, child care, educational credit, scholarships and student loan forgiveness, stipends, non-financial services and benefits that address barriers to employment and job retention, and other benefits as determined by specific program and participant needs.”

Not a bad gig if you don’t want to contribute to the real economy. This is an income redistribution program to finance left-wing nonprofits and bureaucracies to employ and train a cadre of political activists.

The MOU says the Climate Corps will promote the Administration’s goal that 40% of overall federal climate-change investments should “flow to disadvantaged communities that are marginalized, underserved, overburdened by pollution, and experiencing disproportionate impacts of climate change.”

The perverse priority of this program is hard to believe when the President is racking up record budget deficits and shrinking the U.S. military despite rising global threats. The Climate Corps plan shows how much Mr. Biden remains in thrall to the Democratic left and its climate-change obsessions.

Republicans, unlike Democrats, are determined to compromise in order to get things done. But does their strategy of compromise work? We think not.

A perfect example of this ability to compromise and by doing so losing is that of Speaker Mike Johnson and the most recent budget bill.

As President George Washington wrote, “We must consult our means rather than our wishes.”

Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. said, “Don’t tell me what you value, show me your budget, and I’ll tell you what you value.”

Here’s a short list created by the [3] of some of the items in the March 22, 2024 $1.2 trillion federal budget,

  • $400,000 requested by Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc.) for Briarpatch Youth Services in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. The group promises to hide minors’ struggle with gender dysphoria from their parents while indoctrinating teens in extreme gender ideology.
  • $400,000 requested by Senator Bob Casey (D-Pa.) for the Mazzoni Center in Philadelphia, which carries out transgender hormone shots, clears the way for transgender surgeries, advertises transgender services for minors, and holds drag show fundraisers.
  • $1,808,000 requested by Senators Sheldon Whitehouse and Jack Reed (both D-R.I.) for Women and Infants Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, which carries out first- and second-term abortions at its Family Planning Clinic.
  • $650,000 requested by Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) for Dartmouth Hitchcock Nashua in New Hampshire. “We routinely provide both medication and procedural abortion care up to 22 weeks of pregnancy,” the group declares.
  • $780,000 requested by Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) for Amador Health Services in Las Cruces, New Mexico, which boasts that it “can provide transgender/gender non-conforming (GNC) health education, therapeutic counseling and referrals, and additional LGBTQ+ support that puts your safety and comfort first.

Also listed the following concerning earmarks in the 2024 budget:

  • “Sen. Bennet (D-CO), $845,000 – Envision: You, CO (SAMHSA) – LGBTQ advocacy.”
  • “Sen. Shatz (D-HI), $550,000 – Hawaii Health and Harm Reduction Center, HI (SAMHSA) – LGBTQ services and syringe exchange.”
  • “Sen. Schumer (D-NY), $1,000,000 — SAGE, NY (ACL) – LGBTQ advocacy.”

QUESTION: Do these $6,433,000 in appropriations and earmarks truly fit your personal values?

The Bottom Line

Democrats don’t compromise. Republicans have shown that they are willing to bow down to the Democrats wishes being is policy, fiscal or social.

Remember that immediately after the inauguration of Joseph Robinett Biden Jr. the formed the J6 Committee. Since then they have placed in prison over 1,200 American on trumped up charges.

America’s patriots are looking for a little less talk and a lot more action from Republicans from the schoolhouse to the White House.

We have a candidate President Donald J. Trump who is a patriot and has promised concrete action to right our rapidly sinking ship of state.

This is why the November 5th 2024 election is so very important to restore and strengthen our Constitutional Republic form and government and equal justice under our laws.

C.S. Lewis wrote, “Do not let us mistake necessary evils for good.”

The time for compromise is over. Speaker Johnson, “Impeach Biden now!”

J. K. Rowling’s courageous stand for truth

This year’s was a particularly memorable April Fools’ Day.

First, Scotland’s new Hate Crime and Public Order Act came into force, making it illegal to “stir up hatred” against people based on their age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, transgender identity or other protected characteristics.

It’s a fool’s errand to try to police hatred — a subjective and internalised feeling if ever there was one — not to mention the even more ambiguous “crime” of stirring up hatred.

But fools rush in, and thanks to the new woke law, anyone found guilty of sufficiently hurting another person’s feelings in Scotland, even in their private residence or online, will face up to seven years in prison. A fool’s paradise indeed.

Into the breach

In response to all this foolishness, bestselling author J. K. Rowling, who calls Scotland home, shared her own April Fools’ joke in the form of a lengthy X thread.

“Scotland’s Hate Crime Act comes into effect today,” she began. “Women gain no additional protections, of course, but well-known trans activist Beth Douglas, darling of prominent Scottish politicians, falls within a protected category. Phew!”

Rowling’s words captioned two screenshots of social media posts made by Douglas that show the trans activist wielding knives and axes, and stating that “direct action gets the goods” and “you can take the change by force”.

But Rowling wasn’t done.

“Lovely Scottish lass and convicted double rapist Isla Bryson found her true authentic female self shortly before she was due to be sentenced,” wrote Rowling, posting photos of an evidently male criminal who apparently hoped for lighter sentencing with a newfound trans identity.

“Misgendering is hate, so respect Isla’s pronouns, please,” Rowling added sarcastically.

Eight more tweets followed, cataloguing an assortment of sporting opportunists, undeserving women’s rights appointees, and convicted criminals.

Then for the punchline:

“April Fools!” Rowling declared.

“Only kidding. Obviously, the people mentioned in the above tweets aren’t women at all, but men, every last one of them.”

She ended her post with a thoughtful critique of the new law, which, she argues, prioritises male self-identification over the rights of actual women, and that will inevitably hurt girls, incentivise abuse, scramble crime data, silence dissent and outlaw biology.

Then came her most courageous words:

“I’m currently out of the country, but if what I’ve written here qualifies as an offence under the terms of the new act, I look forward to being arrested when I return to the birthplace of the Scottish Enlightenment.”

Rowling’s parting remarks won praise from all corners of the internet, and for good reason. It was a brilliant play — arguably a first-move checkmate that neutered Scotland’s dystopian law out of the gate.

Checkmate

By very unambiguously and very publicly breaking the Hate Crime Act on its very first day, Rowling cornered Scottish authorities, forcing them to respond in one of two ways, both equally fatal.

Option one would be to enforce the law, arrest Rowling, and shine an international spotlight on the law’s abject insanity. Option two would be to not enforce the law and thereby render it as worthless as the paper it’s written on. Heads she wins, tails they lose.

They lost.

Within a day, Police Scotland had announced that Rowling’s post was not being treated as criminal.

Rowling welcomed the news, writing,

“I hope every woman in Scotland who wishes to speak up for the reality and importance of biological sex will be reassured by this announcement, and I trust that all women — irrespective of profile or financial means — will be treated equally under the law.”

In response to the fear that Scottish authorities will still target people who don’t have the means to defend themselves, Rowling announced,

“If they go after any woman for simply calling a man a man, I’ll repeat that woman’s words and they can charge us both at once.”

It is difficult to overstate the heroic courage of J. K. Rowling. She was willing to put her freedom, wealth and remaining good name on the line, venturing where angels fear to tread, in order to speak the truth and defend the vulnerable.

By doing so, let’s just hope she has inspired a generation of young women to do the same.

Saving American Children, a.k.a. Saving America. – Part 1

We all agree that “Our children are our future.”

However, many of us then make the fatal mistake of saying something like: “Yes, but it’s a long way off before they will have an impact on the country, and I have more pressing things to attend to now.”

This single critical error is a primary reason why our country has been going downhill over the last few decades. Fact 1: we are losing to the Left. Fact 2: the main reason why is that Left is playing a very effective, long game.

The long game the Left is engaging in means that they plan to gradually subvert our country over a few decades — while we are attending to other matters. Their subversion is across the board: our education system, our values, our civility, our Science, our economy, our executive branch, our legislature, our judicial system, etc.

I’ve recommended this before, but it is worth repeating: PLEASE WATCH THIS FIVE MINUTE VIDEO, as it spells it out very clearly.

We are like live lobsters in the pot where the temperature is gradually being turned up.

Consider one astounding reality… Fact 1: Some four million US students graduate from US high schools every year. Fact 2: a conservative estimate is that some three million of those graduates are heavily propagandized with Left ideology, and have almost no Critical Thinking skills. Fact 3: Most of these propagandized, non-critical thinking people will shortly become voting citizens.

How long can America survive with 3± million new voters every year, who have been propagandized with Left ideology and who have no Critical Thinking skills???

Parents are our first line of defense!

With the above understanding, what should be the objectives of conscientious parents, in bringing up their children?

Good question, as this is a highly debated topic. Many hundreds of books have been written on this matter. Some of the better ones are by John Rosemond.

One common answer to this question is that parents should teach their offspring to be productive, happy adults. Sounds good, but what does that translate to?

Let me suggest 5 major objectives that quality parents would want to teach their kids:

  1. How to Think (being a Critical Thinker),
  2. Strong Values (e.g., Judeo-Christian standards),
  3. Useful Knowledge (covering a wide range of life topics),
  4. Good Habits (like brushing their teeth), and
  5. Worthwhile Skills (like knowing how to cook).

Let me posit further that the most important one is the first!

Considering things carefully, ALL of the others actually depend on the ability to do Critical Thinking! Conversely, a Critically Thinking child will not only do better on each of the other items, but will need less parental involvement with them as well.

Let’s say, for example, that your top priority is Christian values — like going to Church on Sunday. That’s an admirable start, but will your child continue to attend weekly Church services after they have left the nest?

IMO, unless they have done Critical Thinking about the merits of going to Church (vs. doing it because they were told to, or out of habit), they are very likely to stop. Is that what you want? Is that what you would call success?

How does a parent instill Critical Thinking in their children?

STEP ONE is parents understanding the importance of this special skill. Please read this list of amazing benefits of your child being a Critical Thinker.

STEP TWO is understanding that it is very unlikely that your child is being taught to be a Critical Thinker in school — especially public. Worse, it is almost certain that they are being taught the OPPOSITE of being a Critical Thinker!

What? Yes, that is what is happening in the majority of K-12 schools, during the most formative years of their life. As I’ve written before, the appropriate subject area for children to be taught HOW to be a Critical Thinker, is Science. That’s because real scientists are people who instinctively ask questions: who? when? why? An essential ingredient of being a Critical Thinker is to ask questions when non-parents (teachers, older kids, media, authorities, etc.) are telling them something.

Why have I excluded parents? It’s because those people have a very special love for their children. No one else has this same commitment. As a result, children should never question parental authority. (That understood, children can certainly respectfully question parental opinions on things like politics, religion, etc.)

So how are schools teaching the opposite of Critical Thinking? The opposite is to be a robotic lemming. Schools are teaching children that they should: be politically correct, follow the advice of experts (e.g., re COVID), accept the conclusions of computers (e.g., re climate), go along with consensus (e.g., secularism), believe that reality is what is on the Internet and social media, etc.

That’s one of the main reasons I’m so opposed to the Next Generation Science Standards that have been totally (or mostly) adopted by 49 states! The progressive NGSS is a key part of the K-12 curriculum, and it is teaching conformance and compliance, not Critical Thinking.

STEP THREE is like many other things: parents teach Critical thinking by setting a good example. Actions are more impactful than words. Show your children how to constructively question what they see on their screens, by the parents doing the same for what is on TV, in the newspaper, on the Internet, etc.

STEP FOUR is to help them perfect this skill by doing some real-world exercises. For example, some parents have told me that they ask their teenager to read my twice-a-month Newsletter. Then the child picks one of the dozen or more topics covered by the Newsletter to discuss. The parent then chooses one of the articles in that section.

Twice a month they set aside at least 30 minutes for some parent-child private time, with no interruptions (which is a good thing in itself). The child then reads the article out loud to the parent, and they discuss what’s good (or bad) in the article. This provides an outstanding opportunity to see that your child is somewhat up on current events, and from a reliable source.

Further, it provides the parent a glimpse of their child’s thinking on this topic, as well as being an outstanding opportunity for the parent to share with their child their perspective on an important societal issue. And, of course, this happy event is also about Critical Thinking — e.g. conversing with your child how this article compares to what she has seen in the media, or taught in school, or heard from their friends, etc.

For pre-teens these are good: How to Teach Your Child to Be a Critical Thinker, Four Strategies for Sparking Critical Thinking in Young Children, and Critical thinking is a 21st-century essential — here’s how to help kids learn it.

Trump Declares November 5 ‘Christian Day of Visibility’

In response to incumbent President Joe Biden naming Easter Sunday the national “Transgender Day of Visibility,” former President Donald Trump is declaring a “Christian Visibility Day.” The 45th president announced on Truth Social, “Election Day, November 5th, will be the most important day in the History of our Country. It will also be Christian Visibility Day, the biggest turnout of Christians in the history of our Country!”

In a Tuesday speech delivered in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Trump asked, “And what the hell was Biden thinking when he declared Easter Sunday to be trans visibility day?” He added, “Such total disrespect to Christians, and November 5th is going to be called something else. You know what it’s going to be called? ‘Christian Visibility Day,’ when Christians turn out in numbers that nobody has ever seen before.”

Trump’s national press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, called Biden’s “Transgender Day of Visibility” proclamation “appalling and insulting,” adding that it was simply part of the Biden administration’s “years-long assault on the Christian faith.”

In comments to The Washington Stand, FRC Action Director Matt Carpenter said, “The recent attempt by the Biden White House to overshadow Resurrection Sunday with so-called ‘Transgender Day of Visibility’ will undoubtedly have repercussions come November 5.” He continued, “Unlike Biden, Trump seems to be paying attention to what happened this past weekend when he said election day would be ‘Christian Day of Visibility.’ Christian voters are paying attention.”

“The Biden White House is not simply indifferent to America’s heritage as a Christian nation that marks its calendar with Christian holidays, his administration is openly hostile to that tradition,” Carpenter added. “I think former President Trump rightly sees the opening here to connect with Christian voters who are now seeing plainly the power of the presidency to point American civic life toward its harmful gender ideology or the resurrection of the Son of God from the grave.”

Ahead of Christmas, Trump pledged to form a task force if reelected in order to combat anti-Christian bias. “As soon as I get back in the Oval Office, I’ll also immediately end the war on Christians,” the 45th president promised. “Under crooked Joe Biden, Christians and Americans of faith are being persecuted and government has been weaponized against religion like never before.”

“Biden and his corrupt Department of Injustice have sent SWAT teams to arrest pro-life activists, they’ve targeted conservative parents at school board meetings who don’t want filth taught to their children, it’s filth, what they’re teaching in schools, it’s filth,” Trump stated. He then referred to the Biden Justice Department’s campaign spying on American Catholics who attend the pre-1969 Tridentine Mass, saying, “And now the communists, Marxists, and fascists are going hard after Catholics, even plotting to send spies into Catholic churches. … Just like in the Soviet Union from days gone by.” He asked, “If you’re a Catholic, why would you vote for a Democrat, with what they’re doing to Catholics? I don’t know what’s going on with the Catholics, but they’re really being persecuted.”

“A new report from the House Judiciary Committee proves that the Biden FBI actually targeted Catholics as potential domestic terrorists,” Trump noted, referring to a December congressional report. “And you know, evangelicals will not be far behind, because when that starts, it starts happening on a very major scale.”

Over the past several months, polls have consistently shown Trump beating Biden in November, both in hotly-contested battleground states and nationally.

Powers and Principalities: America Is at Spiritual War

The hour is late, and open war rages across the United States. No sword is drawn, no shot is fired, yet lives, souls, and civilization itself all hang in the balance. This present war is not a political one — though politics and government are the weapons used in this combat — but a spiritual one. Two religions are struggling for supremacy over America: leftism and Christianity.

“Marxism,” “communism,” “socialism,” “progressivism,” and even “relativism” and “atheism” are common buzzwords among conservatives, but each of these political and social ideologies is merely a contributor to the emergent religion of leftism. Yes, leftism is a religion, it is not simply an ideology: it mandates its own worship, its own doctrine, and even its own sacraments. It promulgates its tenets, enforced by malleable legislation, as positive goods — that is, ends which are good in and of themselves, not simply means to achieve ends which are determined externally to be good, as most political forces do. It was once the norm for varying political factions to agree, largely, on what would be good for the nation — whether that be the support of families, the growth of the economy, or the bolstering of the nation’s borders — predicated on the express will of the people, but to simply differ on how best to achieve those goods.

Not so in the 21st century. Leftism differs fundamentally from its foe on what those ultimate goods are for the nation; in fact, its devoutly, fervently held positions place it in direct opposition not to a political force but to a religion — namely, Christianity, by far the most prevalent religion in America. Abortion, transgenderism, homosexuality, pornography, open borders, and all the agenda items of leftism are directly and incontrovertibly contradictory to the moral standards of Christianity. Of course, conservatism has long advanced Christian moral standards in the public and political spheres, but the increasingly-common brand of secular conservatism uprooted from Christianity has proven toothless in the snarling face of leftism.

Nearly 70 years ago, the Catholic author and orator Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen predicted the rise of the religion of leftism, orchestrated by Satan himself. “He will set up a counter church which will be the ape of the Church, because he, the Devil, is the ape of God,” Sheen wrote. “It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the Antichrist that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ.” The archbishop prophesied that the religion of leftism “will be brotherhood of Man without the fatherhood of God…”

Indeed, the good bishop’s words seem unnervingly more than prescient. For nearly 2,000 years, Christians have celebrated the solemn feast of Easter, commemorating and glorifying Christ’s triumphant resurrection from the dead and victory over the grave. It cannot be mere coincidence that, this year, President Joe Biden declared Easter Sunday to be a national “Transgender Day of Visibility.” Consider that this is more than simply spitting in the face of devout Christians; it is the institution of a new and fatal religion’s highest holy day, intentionally coinciding with the date of Easter Sunday. Christians believe that, through the sacrament of baptism, we are born again, shedding the stain of original sin with which we were born in order to share in the glories of life eternal, opened to us by Christ’s resurrection. Traditionally, baptized Christians would even take a new name, an outward sign of their new identities in Christ. Transgenderism is leftism’s diabolically inverted answer to this sacrament: death to the old self, shedding the identity (sex) with which one was born, and taking a new name to go with one’s new identity.

Every doctrine that Christianity preaches, leftism preaches its own perversion of it. The love advocated by Christianity is rooted in absolute truth, in “Love Himself,” as C.S. Lewis once put it. Leftism advocates “love” unmoored, anchored by nothing more absolute than the weight of fickle feelings and emotions — though, when those emotions are felt, they do reign supreme.

Christianity upholds sacrifice as virtuous — the giving of oneself for the sake of love is the zenith of the virtue of charity. Christ Himself tells His followers, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). Leftism also values sacrifice, but never sacrifice of the self, only the sacrificing of others. Abortion is the ultimate example of this warped anti-virtue: sacrificing one’s own child for… financial comfort, a career, no responsibility, or even just consequence-free sex.

Christianity mandates submission to the will of God, accepting His design no matter how painful or difficult. Again, Christ Himself prayed, “O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt” (Matthew 26:39). Leftism demands obeisance to the only god it recognizes: the self-centered self. Transgenderism is demonstrative of this: just as Christian martyrs have willingly suffered torture for the sake of their faith, so the confused, self-centered, and self-loathing suffer mutilation and torture for the sake of their own wounded and twisted egos.

Like the dominant Christianity of the Middle Ages, leftism even has its own office of the inquisition. Those who do not toe the leftist line, who dare to question the new religion’s dogmas, are hounded out of the anti-church. The famed “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling is indicative of this. A multi-millionaire and self-declared feminist, Rowling was once a darling of leftist media and political activists. She supported the Labour Party in the U.K. and Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Yet as soon as she voiced her concerns over transgenderism, she became a “heretic” to the church of leftism, targeted for disbarment from all the institutions controlled by leftism.

Although leftism is a uniquely 21st century phenomenon, its fundamental principles are nothing new. In fact, God has been dealing with the motivating mindset behind leftism since before the world began. The chief and unifying tenet of the leftist religion — indeed, that of all its precursors and predecessors, also — is naturalism. When first Lucifer said, in the words of the poet John Milton, “Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven,” naturalism was born. Naturalism is the belief, the assertion that the creature can replace the Creator, that the peasant may, if he slays the King, rule in His stead. It is the hubristic declaration that “God is dead, I am god.”

Satan was the first to declare thus, in his immense pride, galled by the humility of God’s plan to become a man, to take on the form of a mere creature — “these disgusting little human vermin,” as Lewis called them in the character of Screwtape, a hateful demon. He has declared it ever since, leading countless souls astray. In the Garden of Eden, that was the temptation offered by the Serpent: “You shall be as gods” (Genesis 3:5). Throughout Scripture and, certainly, throughout human history, that has been the great temptation, the great sin: to be as gods. When Moses ascended Mount Sinai, after God led the Hebrews out of slavery in Egypt, that temptation reared its head and the Hebrews made for themselves an idol (Exodus 32). Even then, the Hebrews fell to worshipping the demon Baal, until the prophet Elijiah proved the supremacy of God and slayed the Baalite priests (1 Kings 18).

Whether in the twilight years of the Roman Empire, throughout the Middle Ages, into the age of discovery, or even now in the modern day, men are tempted to declare themselves God, to worship their own selves over the crucified and resurrected person of Christ, to adhere to their own principles or preachings as supreme. Leftism is simply the culmination of this evil, this unbridled, unrestrained pride, brought to the fore via political prowess and instituted in American culture via institutions long ago captured by the prophets of leftism: Marxists, communists, perverts, abortionists, eugenicists, atheists, relativists, and countless other little ideologues subservient to the Luciferian sin of naturalism.

The current division in America is not ultimately a matter of Left versus Right, of Democrat versus Republican, of communist versus capitalist, but of good versus evil, of naturalism (in the form of leftism) versus Christianity, of the fallen angel Lucifer and his minions versus the crucified and resurrected Christ and the forces of Heaven. The war being waged over America at present is not a matter of differing political opinions but of diametrically opposed religions.

One side says that unborn babies, the most innocent of all persons, may be executed at will, torn apart and unceremoniously vacuumed out of the wombs of their mothers; that children may, on a whim, decide to ingest hormones foreign and unnatural to their bodies before subjecting themselves to irreversible surgeries so horrific that not even the most warped and depraved authors of the 19th and 20th centuries could have imagined them; that procreation is wholly unrelated to the conjugal act, that two men might sodomize one another and call it “love”; that sex-trafficking and child sexual exploitation are just the price to be paid for virtual images of increasingly perverted sex acts, readily available to young and old at the mere click of a button; that a nation has no sovereignty and must be subjected to millions of unvetted, unrestricted immigrants.

The other side says that innocence is worth preserving, that unborn children and their mothers must be cherished and protected from the evils of the abortion mill; that children must be raised to think and think critically, think well, think deeply; that the family is the basic and fundamental unit of society, that the very fabric of civilization would unravel without the family as its basis; that love necessitates self-sacrifice, not self-gratification; that nations have a God-given right to defend their borders and preserve the safety and security of their own people; that Christ is indeed King.

This present war is not between two ideological factions but between powers and principalities, between leftism and Christianity, between good and evil, between God and Satan. “Choose you this day whom ye will serve… As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).

Citizenship Application Now Allows for ‘X’ Gender Designation

The Biden administration is allowing immigrants applying for U.S. citizenship to identify as an “X” gender on their paperwork. U.S. Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced on Monday that, effective immediately, immigrants applying for naturalization may pick “male,” “female,” or “X” as their gender, denoting “Another Gender Identity.”

Furthermore, applicants do not need to provide any supporting documentation in order to select an “X” gender. “You do not need to provide supporting documentation to select X as your gender initially or to change your gender selection for Form N-400,” USCIS stated. “The gender you select does not need to match the gender listed on your other immigration documents or on supporting identity documents, such as your birth certificate, passport, or state identification.”

“Historically, USCIS forms and associated documents have only offered two gender options: ‘Male (M)’ and ‘Female (F),’” the USCIS announcement explained. “This has created significant barriers for requestors who do not identify with either of those options.” The agency cited the example of other federal agencies, such as the U.S. State Department, which have allowed for a self-identified “X” gender on official documents as justification for its decision.

The agency advised, “Form N-400 is the only USCIS form that offers the X gender option at this time. Therefore, until we complete additional form revisions that add the X gender option, naturalization certificates are the only USCIS-issued secure identity documents that can reflect the gender X.” Form N-565, a request for a replacement naturalization or citizenship document, is reportedly still being revised to include an “X” gender option. Those who have filed an N-400 form which is still pending need only contact USCIS to request a change to “X.”

USCIS also updated guidelines in its Policy Manual to reflect the new gender option available, adding that there will be “other forthcoming form revisions that will add a third gender option…”

Referring to the death of Laken Riley, a Georgia nursing student who was brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant, Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) posted on social media, “I’m sure Laken Riley’s family is relieved to know that immigrants can now register as ‘Gender X.’” He added, “Biden’s Department of Homeland Security is too busy implementing woke DEI gender policies to protect Americans and secure the border. … Close the border.”

The USCIS decision follows similar moves by other federal agencies, most notably the State Department. In 2022, Biden’s State Department announced it was adding “X” gender marker options to U.S. passports, a decision explicitly cited by USCIS in its own announcement. Additionally, the State Department has spent its time issuing warnings to staffers about “misgendering,” funding training programs for LGBT “allies,” and endorsing LGBT “Pride” events across the globe.

On April 3rd, Breitbart published an article quoting top Israeli journalist Caroline Glick on the news that the Biden administration is planning to overturn the Israeli government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu.

Let’s connect some dots.

Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists is emblematic of the struggle to maintain Western civilization and liberty against the pressures of Islamic jihad and the globalist elites’ drive toward their long-hoped for One World Government.

And that is the context in which to view O’Biden’s ignominious push to overthrow the democratically elected Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, in favor of a NWO globalist puppet.

Why is America squandering billions of dollars that we can’t afford in order to take down Putin in Russia, under the guise of helping Ukraine? And why is our government attempting to actually overturn the government in our only democratic ally in the Middle East?

These two seemingly disparate questions have the same answer: The globalist elites— the real power behind the U.N., the W.E.F., the World Bank, the IMF, the Bank of International Settlements, the E.U., and more—require the ouster of the remaining anti-globalist, nationalist leaders in strong first-world countries.

That is also why our homegrown Leftist/Marxists/globalist Dems are frantically throwing a barrage of bogus lawsuits at Trump; they hope to bankrupt him or send him to prison or both, before November rolls around.

Why their incessant, furious attacks on him? Because he’s a not only a strong, America First nationalist—he’s also famously stated: “Nationalism, not globalism, will be our credo.” And that is anathema to TPTB—the Davos elites et al.

Our rogue government under Obama engineered a Color Revolution in Ukraine in 2014—aka “the mess that Victoria Nuland made”— and another one in 2020 here at home, to keep President Trump out of the White House. Now they’re planning to overturn the people’s will in Israel, by fomenting Leftist rioting in the streets in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, much as they did with AntiFa in D.C. on January 6th, 2021.

‘Border Needs To Be Closed’: Voter Gives MSNBC Host Earful On Immigration

A Florida voter told MSNBC host Jose Diaz-Balart that not closing the southern border was “unsafe” for the country in an interview that aired Wednesday.

President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign claimed Florida was “winnable” in November’s general election, citing a Florida Supreme Court ruling that allowed a law restricting abortion after the sixth week of pregnancy to take effect, according to NBC News. Diaz-Balart asked voters in Florida about their views on the upcoming election and what they would say to President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, eliciting an impassioned response from a Miami woman.

WATCH:

“I think the southern border needs to be closed,” the voter, a young Hispanic woman, told Diaz-Balart. “I think it is unsafe for our country. I would love to believe the idea that everybody that is crossing the southern border is doing so in search of the American dream, but that’s not true.”

“I do agree with the wall. I think it makes sense,” the voter continued. “I think you lock your doors at night to make your house safe. I think we need some kind of measure to keep our border safe as well.”

Trump held leads of 20% among voters in the swing states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin when it came to handling immigration and the economy, according to a poll conducted by The Wall Street Journal from March 17-24.

Former President Donald Trump and other Republicans have highlighted crimes committed by illegal immigrants after the murder of nursing student Laken Riley, blaming President Joe Biden for reversing multiple Trump border policies during his first days in office. Riley’s alleged killer, Jose Antonio Ibarra, an immigrant from Venezuela who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border illegally, was arrested by University of Georgia police and charged with murdering the 22-year-old nursing student on Feb. 23.

According to data released by United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), 849,469 illegal immigrants have been encountered to date in fiscal year 2024, following 2,045,838 encounters in fiscal year 2023, 2,206,436 encounters in fiscal year 2022 and 1,659,206 in fiscal year 2021.

Swing-State Voters Overwhelmingly Trust Trump Over Biden On Pivotal Issues Ahead Of November Election: POLL

Former President Donald Trump is leading President Joe Biden by large margins on key domestic issues across seven battleground states ahead of the November election, a poll released Tuesday evening found.

Trump is trouncing Biden by 20 points on handling of the economy, border security, inflation and the “mental and physical fitness needed to be President,” according to a Wall Street Journal survey among registered voters in Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Inflation and illegal immigration have surged since Biden took office in January 2021, and questions concerning the president’s mental fitness continue to mount.

Swing-state voters also said they trust Trump 14 and nine points more than Biden to handle the wars in Gaza and Ukraine, respectively, according to the poll.

The only issues polled that Biden led Trump on were abortion and “protecting democracy.” Biden was trusted by 12 points more on the issue of abortion, as well as one point on protecting democracy, the survey found.

Trump also led Biden in the poll for a general election matchup by one point in Georgia; three points in Michigan and Pennsylvania; four points in Nevada; five points in Arizona; and six points in North Carolina. The two were tied in Wisconsin at 46%.

When independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr., “Justice for All Party” candidate Cornel West, Green Party candidate Jill Stein and Libertarian Party candidate Lars Mapstead were included, Trump’s leads grew in North Carolina and Georgia, according to the poll.

The former president’s margins stayed the same in Arizona, Nevada and Pennsylvania with the third-party contenders on the ballot, while his lead dropped by one point in Michigan and Wisconsin fell to Biden.

Trump is currently leading Biden in the RealClearPolitics average for 2024 matchups in Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Georgia anywhere from 0.6 to 5.2 points.

The WSJ poll surveyed 4,200 registered voters across the swing states from March 17 to March 24 with a margin of error of plus or minus 4%.

Neither the Trump nor Biden campaigns immediately responded to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s requests for comment.

Since I came into office, companies in the United States have produced record levels of oil and gas [LIE].  And to bring prices down at the pump [LIE], my Administration released millions of barrels of oil from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve [TRUE].  Across the country, oil and gas companies have thousands of permits that allow them to drill in the United States right now [LIE]—but they are choosing not to.  And my Administration is calling on them to use their permits or lose them.

As President, it is my job to focus on the energy needs of Americans today and of the future [LIE].  To be truly free from our reliance on foreign oil [LIE], we are investing in all forms of energy here at home [LIE], including wind, solar, nuclear, geothermal power, and vehicle electrification [TRUE].  These investments are creating good-paying jobs and will lower energy costs for Americans [LIE].  And as we do this, we are making sure we leave no one behind—including rural America, the heartland, and energy communities [LIE].

Of course, TikTok is a definite threat to America’s national security in the 21st century, the same way the Stalin/Andropov design has been destroying the US in the 20th century, infiltrating our democratic institutions: business, court, government infrastructure, and …the Democrat party. The idea of the Deep State has become a reality under Bill Clinton, the first Manchurian President, who established control and power of the infiltrated Democrat party—the base of the Deep State. Barack Obama has inherited it creating a hegemony of the Party, by his Cult of Personality. A senile Biden managed by Russia’s Intel just continued all of that. The collusion with Russia’s Intel has never stopped for any of them. This is the exact reason I have been warning you, writing about the KGB’s Mafia/Army—the Evil Doer for the last forty-three years.

I know Soviet Socialism and constantly have been sharing knowledge with you—it is again Russia… Terrorizing political opponents is the KGB Mafia/Army actual activities, I’ve warned you for the last several decades. The Democrat’s leadership has conspired with weaponized law-enforcement and DOJ to entrap Trump and the White House was totally informed about it. All channels discussed the event, yet nobody presents it as international precedent, like I did. I don’t trust Biden’s theatrical performances, reading on prompter what has been written by his staff. The policy of open borders intertwined with Putin’s KGB Mafia/Army—the Evil Doer that executed invasion to America from 120-160 countries. The surging crime on the streets has started by Democrats states decade ago and continues. Yes, we are witnessing A Global Spy Ring run by Vladimir Putin, described in my column under that title. A member of a legal community at the time of the KGB Chairman Yuri Andropov 1967-1982, I’ve learned from him a lot about the KGB in Russia. Responsible for designing a protocol of America’s infiltration, Andropov spaced it as a simultaneous intrusion of the American Security Apparatus and media. It was shocking to watch America in the last thirty years and see that all. You can read the details in my columns and books. We still don’t know Russia and her Intel waging WWIII against the American republic. Remember my definition of WWIII: Recruitment, Infiltration, Drugs and Assassinations. Putin is the next generation of Stalin/Andropov’s devoted disciples, Trump is an existential threat to him and Biden. Seven years of Hoaxes aimed at Trump were Putin’s KGB Mafia/Army production. I recognized it instantly by the familiar handwriting of corruption, fabrication, provocation, deceit, and fraud.

As a matter of fact, Biden’s White House created authoritarian paradigms in America. Glenn Beck is right “the Democrat Party is historically un-democratic and now they find a new way to do that ” June 2, 22. I would add “the Democrat Party is a Party of Socialist Charlatans.” I have been writing about that new Socialist way for over thirty years. Interview with the Democrat Sen. Mark Warner in Cavuto on August 6, 2022 illustrates the inability of the Republicans to rebuttal the Socialist Charlatans—Con men, thuds. I purposely introduced the term. Some Republicans don’t know the Socialist modus operandi: lies, deceit, and fraud. They also can’t perceive the fact that the KGB mafia/Army—the Evil Doer– was turning the Democrat Party to Socialist Party. Pay attention to Biden and his White House team. Something strange is happening in the American Kingdom—it self-divides itself. The executive branch battles the US Supreme Court, while Fentanyl is killing thousands of our citizens.  It is even worse: Stalin’s aggressive Putin’s twins-brothers, Chairman Xi and the “Axis of Evil” under the Russian umbrella are attacking Western civilization with impunity. The Republicans don’t know the major Russian agency that manages A Global Spy Ring—The KGB Mafia/Army. Read my column under that title. The recent terror act in Moscow is the boomerang of Stalinism and we desperately need the knowledge of Russia today. Historian Devid Satter comments are said it all:

I couldn’t say it better, but David didn’t read my books or columns and he didn’t know that ISIS was a Russian creation, managed by the KGB in the Middle East, Afghanistan and Syria in the 20th century. Stalin has married Soviet Socialism with Islam, creating Jihadists and we are now experiencing his legacy. America’s pundits use several terms to identify the Dem’s forces: the Leftists, the Radical Left, and a Progressive Left–a very shallow meaning of the enemy. In the era of the ideology and Woke-fraud, the definition should be more concrete. To show the proliferation of fraud, I offered a term Socialist Charlatans—Con men, thugs, 20-25 years ago to emphasize the double fraud they are implementing globally. Both words carry “the odor of mendacity” in politics. Stalin’s Soviet Socialism is a fraud and Charlatans are the word describing different kinds of human treachery and dishonesty. There are thousands of Socialist Charlatans if not millions in America—a bastion of the Deep State. The network has no specific nationality, race, or ethnicity, it is a political entity run by Vladimir Putin, who called himself a Globalist to confuse you. Let me give you different kinds of Socialist Charlatans with the same agenda: destruction of capitalism and implementation of Soviet Socialism globally.

Now a current hit of the bridge, tragedy in Baltimore by the ship with 754T of hazardous material was definitely also a well-calculated and coordinated act committed by Socialist Charlatans inflicting monumental damage to the country’s economy. There had already been three bridges hit by the ships in 2024. There will be an investigation of the Baltimore bridge hit, but I don’t trust any investigation made by Biden’s team. Criminals shouldn’t investigate themselves like in Soviet Russia. The Republicans have a chance to investigate the Dems’ system of destruction beginning decades ago and expose their army of Socialist Charlatans…

The Army of Socialist Charlatans in America

I have been following Bill Clinton since my immigration in 1981. As I stated above, he was the first Manchurian President, known to me. Clinton’s Mafia had been “eyes and ears of the KGB.” it continued acting under Obama by his anti-police policy in America. Clinton left another devastating legacy by assigning his right-hand George Stephanopoulos to create a one-dimensional state media to serve Democrats, a-la the Soviets. I don’t know the Trump case against ABC News and George Stephanopoulos for defamation, but I have written a lot about George and his father’s affiliation with Liberation Theology, infiltrated by the KGB. George has “accomplished” a great deal. I don’t know how he did it. Maybe a lot of other Socialist Charlatans helped him in his assignment. Just look at the current American Media and you will see his “achievements…”

There is another Socialist Charlatan—Mayor Pete, who is constantly lecturing us about democracy. Mayor Pete is repeating professionally his father, who was a lecturer of Marxism-Leninism in Russia. Lecturing Marxism-Leninism in Russia, you must have ties to the KGB. When I found that information about Peter’s father, the events presented the real picture of WWIII. Do you know who had vetted Mayor Pete? I don’t know. Maybe you know who did vet the rest of the Biden government with 90% of them socialists and communists? I don’t know. By law it is the responsibility of the FBI to vet an upcoming government, and this is a big question. Does the FBI have the knowledge to vet Socialists and Communists in America? Does the FBI have the knowledge to vet Socialist Charlatans in America? Both answers have the astounding NO!

‘Blatant Violations’: Watchdog Challenges Key Data Used By Biden Admin To Push Sweeping Climate Agenda

A government watchdog group has filed a complaint with the Biden administration over its use of a dataset frequently used to push its climate agenda.

Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT) filed the complaint with the Commerce Department over the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) “Billions Project” dataset, which purports to keep track of natural [and climate] disasters that have caused at least $1 billion in damages going back to 1980. The billion-dollar disasters (BDD) data — cited frequently by the Biden administration to insinuate that climate change is intensifying and justify sweeping green policies — is based on opaque data derived from questionable accounting practices, PPT alleges in the complaint.

“American families and businesses continue to struggle with persistently high inflation, which many attribute in large part to the energy policies and government spending of the current administration. The idea that blatant violations of scientific integrity could be underlying the rationale for these policies should concern every American,” Michael Chamberlain, PPT’s director, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Unfortunately, this is far from an isolated incident. The Biden Administration came into office pledging that its decision making would be grounded in the highest-quality science, but all too often has failed to live up to those promises.”

The complaint was filed with the Commerce Department, as NOAA operates under its auspices, Chamberlain told the DCNF.

PPT’s complaint alleges that NOAA does not adequately disclose its sources and methods for compiling the BDD dataset, adds and removes BDD events from the dataset without providing its rationale for doing so and produces cost estimates that are sometimes significantly different than those generated by more conventional accounting procedures.

While NOAA states that it develops its BDD data from more than a dozen sources, the agency does not disclose those sources for specific events or show how it calculates loss estimates from those sources, PPT’s complaint alleges.

The complaint further alleges that NOAA’s accounting methods are opaque and “produce suspect results.”

For example, when Hurricane Idalia took aim at Florida in 2023, NOAA initially projected that the storm would cause about $2.5 billion worth of damages before insured losses ultimately came in at about $310 million, according to PPT’s complaint, which cites the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation for that figure. Nevertheless, NOAA subsequently marked up its estimate for how much damage the storm caused to $3.5 billion, a discrepancy for which NOAA provided no explanation, PPT alleges in its complaint.

NOAA researchers have disclosed in the past that the agency considers factors such as functions pertaining to livestock feeding costs — in addition to more conventional types of damages — in their cost calculations.

Further, the complaint alleges that BDD events are quietly added and removed from the dataset without explanation, citing Roger Pielke Jr., a former academic who believes climate change to be a real threat but opposes politicized science. In a forthcoming paper analyzing the merits of BDD statistics, Pielke compared the dataset in late 2022 to the dataset in the middle of 2023 and found that ten new BDD events were added to the list and 3 were subtracted without explanation.

Apart from the issues with methodology alleged by PPT in its complaint, the use of BDD events as a proxy for climate change’s intensity is inherently misleading because economic data does not reflect changes in meteorological conditions, Pielke has previously explained to the DCNF.

For example, increasing concentrations of assets, especially in coastal areas, can confound the usefulness of BDD events as an indicator for the intensity of climate change, as Energy and Environment Legal Institute Senior Policy Fellow Steve Milloy has previously explained to the DCNF. Hypothetically, the same exact hurricane could hit the same exact place, decades apart, with vastly different damage totals; this would be the case because there are simply more assets sitting in the way of the storm, not because the storm was any more violent due to worsening climate change.

NOAA has acknowledged this limitation of the dataset in prior communications with the DCNF.

Additionally, NOAA will add disasters to the list retrospectively because it adjusts for inflation, meaning that a hurricane that caused $800 million in damages in 1980 dollars would be added to the list because the damages exceed $1 billion when adjusted for inflation, for example.

The Biden administration has frequently cited the BDD dataset to substantiate its massive climate agenda.

For example, Deputy Energy Secretary David Turk cited the dataset in written testimony submitted to lawmakers in February explaining the White House’s decision to pause new approvals for liquefied natural gas export terminals.

The BDD statistics are also referenced Fifth National Climate Assessment (NCA5), the Biden administration’s landmark climate report that is intended to provide the most sound scientific basis for lawmakers and officials to craft climate policy.

NOAA asserted that the increasing frequency of BDD events is a sign of intensifying climate change in a January press release and blog post summarizing 2023, and then defended the use of the dataset in subsequent communications with the DCNF.

“Sensational climate claims made without proper scientific basis and spread by government officials threaten the public’s trust in its scientific officials and undermines the government’s mission of stewarding the environment,” PPT’s complaint states. “It also poses the danger of policymakers basing consequential government policy on unscientific claims unsupported by evidence.”

NOAA declined to comment, citing the active nature of the scientific integrity complaint. The White House and the Department of Commerce did not respond immediately to requests for comment.

California Restaurants Closing Fast — Communism Does Not Work!

The Communist government operating out of Sacramento California is following the Hugo Chavez/Maduro playbook the former and current installed presidents of Communist controlled Venezuela.

My beautiful Venezuelan wife left Venezuela and was granted asylum in Colombia before relocating to the United States as a permanent legal resident.

She has watched her former country slowly succumb to the intentional collapse of its once thriving capitalist free market economy.

She commented to me that the Government of California and the current installed Marxist occupying the White House are no different in ideology than that of Maduro and Chavez.

West Third Street gastropub and wine bar 3rd Stop in Los Angeles closed its doors after 29 years in business.

The famous music venue Conga Room closed after 25 years in business in Los Angeles due to massive inflation and government interference in running its operation.

The famous restaurant El Torito’s in Santa Monica frequented by Hollywood movie stars closed permanently on March 9th 2024.

A popular daytime restaurant the Farm Of Beverly Hills closed on March 3 2024 after 26 years of business.

The Mezcal bar and taco cantina Mezcalero closed permanently on Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles in early March 2024.

Nic’s on Beverly a plant based restaurant closed permanently on March 31st due to massive inflation on the rent and the mandatory $20 an hour minimum wage unconstitutional mandated by Governor Newsom’s Marxist government.

The Culver City bar closed permanently on March 16 2024 after 18 years of operation due to razor thin operating costs created by Governor Newsom’s anti capitalist idealism.

For 45 years, Caffe Roma has been a go to place for Italian food and coffee in the Golden Triangle of Beverly Hills.

It was frequently patronized by Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The restaurant announced its closure on January 1, 2024.

My friend, an immigrant from Germany moved to Venice California 30 years ago and he made his fortune there.

He walked around Beverly Hills yesterday April 2nd 2024 and he commented to me the town is slowly becoming an empty “For lease” town going bankrupt.

Beverly Hills Stores are closing and some entrepreneurs posted notices on doors and windows stating they have relocated to Nevada and Texas or they have permanently closed.

LA Eater’s Matthew Kang, Mona Holmes, and Rebecca Roland reported, “Los Angeles’s restaurants continue to face difficult headwinds that picked up in the second half of 2023 and led to an industry-wide slowdown. From the lingering impacts of the Hollywood strikes to adverse weather and increased costs (labor, rent, ingredients, etc.), a plethora of variables continue to batter restaurant owners who operate on razor-thin margins.”

3rd Stop – Beverly Grove

West Third Street gastropub and wine bar 3rd Stop told its workers this past Monday that it would be closing at the end of the month. Originally opened in 2006, the all-day restaurant served an array of American food, like grilled chicken nachos, burgers, pizza, and sandwiches.

Conga Room – Downtown LA

Legendary music venue Conga Room, which was instrumental in bringing Latin music acts and other performers to L.A. Live, closed after 25 years. The venue was originally located in Mid-Wilshire but moved to Downtown in 2008. Founder Brad Gluckstein told Billboard that inflation, high interest rates, and a drop in Convention Center traffic led to a changing business model. March 27 was the club’s final night.

El Muelle 8 – Downey

Celebrated Sinaloan seafood spot El Muelle 8 opened last February with pristine shellfish, ceviches, and tacos in a small Downey strip mall. The restaurant quietly closed earlier this year, likely in late January, without much notice. However, its new owners have reached out to Eater and confirmed that El Muelle 8 is plotting a comeback.

El Torito – Santa Monica

El Torito’s expansive restaurant in Santa Monica, which was originally branded as Acapulco and operated by Xperience Restaurant Group, closed on March 9, reports the Santa Monica Sun. Santa Monica mayor Phil Brock said on social media that it had been operating month-to-month for a while and that the property had likely been leased to another operator.

The Farm of Beverly Hills

Daytime eatery the Farm of Beverly Hills closed on March 3 after 26 years of business. Founder and owner Kelli Cotton thanked customers and bid farewell in a note, recognizing past and present staff for their dedication and passion. The reliable breakfast and lunch spot was a reasonably-priced, family-friendly eatery in the heart of the Golden Triangle.

Mezcalero – Downtown

Mezcal bar and taco cantina Mezcalero closed on Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles in early March, with a simple announcement that it would be closed for the weekend. However, Mezcalero never reopened and a note on its Instagram profile confirms it is closed. Originally opened in December 2016, the restaurant was opened by Jay Krymis, who also owned Padre in Long Beach and Fubar in West Hollywood, according to DTLA Weekly.

Nic’s – Beverly Grove

Plant-based restaurant Nic’s on Beverly opened five years ago in the former Terrine space from restaurateur Nic Adler, who also owns Monty’s Good Burger. Nic’s was going to close last June, blaming increased rent, but was able to make an arrangement with the landlord to stay open for another year. Its last day will be March 31 for Easter brunch.

Mandrake – Culver City

Culver City bar Mandrake closed on March 16 after 18 years of operation, according to the Los Angeles Times. Owners Flora Wiegmann, Drew Heitzler and Justin Beal cited life changes as the reason for closing, with Beal and Wiegman moving out of the state and Heitzler becoming a recent father. Mandrake represented the art scene in Culver City and greater Los Angeles, with a famous art curator coming up with the name for the bar.

Tenseven Rolls – San Gabriel

Tenseven Rolls, a bánh cuốn specialist inside Blossom Market Hall in San Gabriel, announced it would close on March 17. The Vietnamese snack spot also served chả giò, bánh xèo, rice rolls, and smoked brisket pho in the mostly Asian American vendor food hall in the heart of SGV. The stall originally opened in December 2022. The Klaude family said on Instagram that it hopes to appear at another venue in the future, with plans to serve at community events in the meantime.

Western City Bagel – Redondo Beach

Not to be confused with the much larger and still-in-operation Western Bagel, Western City Bagel in Redondo Beach announced that it will close on March 31 after 30 years. “While this chapter may be coming to a close, the memories we’ve shared and the connections we’ve made will forever remain close to our hearts,” the shop wrote on Instagram.

Bicyclette and Manzke – Pico Robertson

Manzke and its sister restaurant Bicyclette will close on March 1. Manzke opened in 2022 as a bastion for fine dining in the former Picca space serving a $225 10-course tasting menu and earning a Michelin star; Bicyclette transformed Sotto into a French bistro in 2021. With these latest closures, acclaimed chefs Walter and Margarita Manzke operate only one LA restaurant: the powerhouse République. Previously, the Manzkes closed Petty Cash Taquería after 10 years in October 2023, followed by the abrupt shutter of Sari Sari Store after seven years of business inside Grand Central Market in December 2023.

Banh Oui – Hollywood

Hollywood banh mi spot, Banh Oui, closed on February 13. The restaurant, which started as a pop-up, moved into the space in 2018. Over the years, it was known for its non-traditional takes on the Vietnamese sandwich, as well as its burger, fried chicken sandwich, and more.

Charcoal Sunset – West Hollywood

Josiah Citrin’s West Hollywood location of Charcoal suddenly closed on February 17 after less than a year in operation. Citrin attributed the closure to a rise in the costs of business in the neighborhood, and in a statement to Eater said that it was “a real bummer, to say the least.”

Flore – Silver Lake

Silver Lake’s 16-year-old plant-based restaurant Flore closed for good in late December and announced the closure via Instagram. Owner Miranda Megill opened the restaurant when Silver Lake’s was full of mostly independent businesses. After facing eviction from its original location in Sunset Junction in 2019, Megill moved the business into the shuttered Local space in 2020. Flore’s original location now houses mostly retail shops including clothing brand Maison Kitsune.

Hotel Figueroa (restaurants and bar) – Downtown

All the restaurants and bar inside Downtown’s historic Hotel Figueroa will close in February including Bar Magnolia, Cafe Fig, the Cafeteria, La Casita at Driftwood, and Sparrow Italia. The Los Angeles Times reported that Noble 33 (Casa Madera, Taco Madera), the third-party restaurant group that operates the hotel’s bar and restaurants, announced the closures in December, six days after its workers notified management that they intended to form a union.

Hyperion Public – Silver Lake

Silver Lake pub Hyperion Public closed on January 26. The owners shared via an Instagram post that the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control shut down the bar on January 16 and that they were unaware that the business was operating illegally.

Pearl River Deli – Chinatown

Chinatown’s modern Cantonese spot Pearl River Deli is no longer serving its beloved Hainan chicken rice, char siu pork belly, and Macau pork-chop bun. After opening in January 2020 in Far East Plaza and relocating to Chinatown Central Plaza, chef and owner Johnny Lee announced that Pearl River Deli will be on hiatus indefinitely and possibly forever.

Sakai Ramen Bar – Central LA

After nearly five years in business, Sakai Ramen closed on February 19. The restaurant announced the closure in an Instagram post and shared that the owners would be taking a break for the time being.

Shin – Hollywood

Hollywood’s decade-old Shin restaurant closed on February 4. Though best known for its ramen, the restaurant also prepared sushi and yakitori, including a $175 omakase option with cocktails.

Tokki – Koreatown

After 15 months inside Koreatown’s Chapman Plaza, Tokki closed on February 18. The modern Korean tapas restaurant opened in 2021 with chef Sunny Chang (Quince SF) at the helm, but she departed after just a few months. A part of the team then went on to open Liu’s café, which will remain open.

Atrium – Los Feliz

Los Feliz restaurant Atrium, which opened in 2018 from Beau Laughlin and Jay Milliken, closed without warning on December 23, 2023. The stylish Los Feliz restaurant offered versatile dishes with international flavors in a high-ceiling space in a neighborhood that sorely lacks quality dining. Staff was notified of the closure just a few days before Christmas though outwardly Atrium hinted that it would reopen in the new year. Atrium has not reopened though its sister lounge space Pinky’s continues to operate.

Caffe Roma – Beverly Hills

For 45 years, Caffe Roma has been a streetside destination for Italian food and coffee in the Golden Triangle of Beverly Hills. The restaurant announced its closure on January 1, 2024, though its sister restaurant Café Amici will continue to operate, which means longtime fans will still have a place to get eggplant parmigiana and lasagna with beef ragu. Eater spoke with a representative from Caffe Roma who said the landlord had doubled the rent, which made it more challenging to operate despite nearly half a century of history in the neighborhood.

ETA – Highland Park

Jazz bar and cocktail lounge ETA, which is a sister restaurant to the Greyhound sports bar, closed on December 30, 2023 after initially opening in 2016. Owner Mateo Glassman said part of the reason for the closure was that his partners James and Ryan had moved farther away and that Glassman’s recent addition to the family had made it difficult to sustain operations. Glassman said the Highland Park and jazz community were a huge part of ETA’s success and was thankful for both.

Jeni’s Ice Cream – Venice

Rose Avenue ice cream parlor Jeni’s has closed since around the end of December, though word is that the artisan scoop shop has reopened as a stand on Windward Avenue closer to the Venice Boardwalk. Jeni’s still has locations in Larchmont, Beverly Hills, the Runway in Playa Vista, Calabasas, Los Feliz, and Highland Park within the LA area.

Skylight Gardens – Westwood

Westwood Italian restaurant Skylight Gardens had just celebrated its 12th anniversary when it quietly closed in recent weeks (it originally opened in 2012). A tipster says the signage was taken down and that multiple Yelpers have reported it closed, though the restaurant’s website — which announced the restaurant’s 10th anniversary — is still up at the time of publication.

Spartina LA – Melrose Avenue

A wood-burning grill at a LA restaurant. Spartina LA, which opened in 2015 by chef Stephen Kalt, announced on social media last week that it would close on January 28. Kalt has had a nearly four-decade-long career in restaurants spanning New York City, Atlantic City, and Las Vegas. Spartina was originally named for a restaurant he helped open in the early 1990s in Tribeca before that neighborhood had become one of the hottest in Manhattan.

Spartina in LA was his ode to California Italian food, preparing shareable pizzas, handmade pastas, and seasonal produce. Kalt told Eater that from Memorial Day onwards, sales had dropped off about 40 percent from expected, blaming the writer’s and actor’s strikes. “In 40 years in this business, I’ve never seen anything like it before,” said Kalt. The last day of operations will be this coming Sunday.

Wine House Kitchen — West LA

Located on a West LA rooftop blocks away from the bustling Sawtelle Japantown, Wine House Kitchen closed late last year after more than a year in business. Maiki Le’s Vietnamese French and California menu was a favorite among Eater’s editors with dishes like bún bò Huế spiced elk strip loin, which combines different meat with a central Vietnamese beef noodle soup.

When Governor Newsom and his Marxist thugs finally bankrupt California and collapse its economy as they grasp the handle of socialism and poverty perhaps then the citizens will remove this cockroach parasite from the state government and hire free market capitalists to save what’s left of this crumbling dumpster fire.
