Senate Considers August Stay-cation

If Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) needs backup in his effort to clear the backlog of presidential nominations, he just got it. Sixteen Republican senators are now urging their party to squeeze every last second out of this legislative session, even if it means doing the unthinkable: canceling summer recess.

In a letter to McConnell, they argue there’s too much unfinished business to leave town for a month — not when there are hundreds of nominations on the table, a dozen appropriations bills to finish, and the chance to confirm more judges. Led by Senator David Perdue (R-Ga.), they pledge their support for McConnell to forgo the Senate’s normal R&R and plowing through the president’s to-do list instead.

Looking ahead, there are only 67 working days left on the calendar this fiscal year. That number drops to 52 if you exclude Fridays, as we usually do. This leaves only 12 weeks to get 12 appropriations bills out of committee and consider them on the floor. That alone is an impossible task. When combined with the crucial need to confirm more nominees, it is clear we do not have enough time.

“We stand ready,” they went on, “to work Mondays and Fridays, nights as well as weekends, to ensure the funding process is not used to jam the president with a bad spending deal.” They’re referencing, of course, the rush to pass March’s $1.3 trillion omnibus, a colossal waste of money that wouldn’t have been necessary if Congress had taken the time to budget through regular order. Time is already ticking on the September 30th deadline – and if voters’ outrageis any indication, Republicans can’t afford to make the same costly mistake twice.

Staying in session would also give Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) the chance to continue his run at the history books. An already great news week for President Trump got even better when McConnell knocked out another two confirmations in his already dizzying pace. The latest, Milwaukee attorney Michael Brennan, is headed to the Seventh Circuit, where he’ll fill a vacancy that’s been open eight years. To his credit, McConnell and Grassley have managed to slog through nomination after nomination, despite the obstacles Democrats keep putting in their path. The court-stocking continues next week with more votes. “We’re going to confirm these judges,” Senator McConnell insisted. “I don’t care what tactics they employ.”

While rumors swirl about a possible high court retirement, the majority leader’s advice is blunt: do it now. “My message to any one of the nine Supreme Court justices, if you’re thinking about quitting this year, do it yesterday.” McConnell knows better than anyone how long it takes for a SCOTUS nomination to even make its way to his chamber — up to 60 days in some cases, sometimes more. That doesn’t leave much of a window for the showdown that would almost certainly take place. And with the midterms looming, the urgency is even greater. “Elections have consequences. We could end up without having a Republican Senate.”

“We stand ready,” the senators write, “to break through the confirmation logjam and get the government funded before we break in August… The President has outlined an agenda that will unleash economic growth, strengthen our military, and rebuild our infrastructure,” point out Joni Ernst (Iowa), James Lankford (Okla.), Ted Cruz (Texas), Dean Heller (Nev.), Mike Lee (Utah), Ron Johnson (Wisc.), Bill Cassidy (La.), Roger Wicker (Miss.), Steve Daines (Mont.), Deb Fischer (Nebr.), Dan Sullivan (Alaska), Ben Sasse (Nebr.), Thom Tillis (N.C.), John Kennedy (La.), and Mike Rounds (S.D.). “We play a critical role in advancing this agenda, so together let’s make Congress work again.”

No wonder President Trump is frustrated. Heading into this week, the U.S. Senate had only confirmed 432 of his political appointees. (And you thought your HR department was slow!) To the White House’s relief, that number climbed to 433 after an early afternoon vote that sent CIA Director Mike Pompeo to his new post as secretary of state.For a man whose nomination almost didn’t make it out of committee, Pompeo certainly enjoyed some surprising Democratic support. After a testy confirmation hearing filled with hardball questions, plenty of people wondered if Pompeo would be the first secretary of state to be voted down before his nomination ever hit the floor. While Democrats raked him over the coals for everything from marriage views to climate change, even Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) seemed dead-set against Trump’s pick. Fast-forward two weeks, and suddenly the president’s choice is more popular than Rex Tillerson! By a 57-42 margin, every Republican and a healthy number of Democrats agreed: Mike Pompeo is ready for the job.

For Senator Cory Booker (D-N.J.), Pompeo’s confirmation should have been an embarrassing reminder that not every Democrat shares his extremist views on sexuality and public service. During the confirmation hearing, he desperately tried to persuade his colleagues that Pompeo wasn’t fit to head up DOS because he shares the mainstream belief that marriage is between a man and woman. In an attack that bordered on harassment, Booker asked how he could lead the State Department with biblical convictions. “We have married gay couples at the CIA,” Mike replied simply. “You should know… My respect for every individual, regardless of sexual orientation, is the same.”

That may have made Mike unfit to serve in Cory Booker’s government, but fortunately, not everyone in the party shares his intolerance. Five Democrats up for reelection in November thought better of endorsing Booker’s religious test. Unlike the far-Left wing of the party, they understand that what voters care about isn’t Pompeo’s view on marriage, but his ability to protect American interests overseas. And after the Christian inquisition of Russell Vought, Democrats ought to know: this kind of religious prejudice doesn’t appeal to the broader electorate.

Another senator who should have been stung by today’s vote was Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), who ranted on the Senate floor earlier this week about Pompeo working with peaceful Muslims like our friend Dr. Zuhdi Jasser. “Mike Pompeo was deeply intertwined with this network of anti-Muslim organizations,” he claimed. “… I hope some of you will take a look at that details this network of organizations. They have fairly innocuous sounding names, like the American Islamic Forum for Democracy… but if you really take look at what they do, they preach intolerance.”

First of all, who is Senator Murphy to judge what makes someone truly Muslim? Dr. Jasser, who heads up the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, is a deeply religious man who happens to believe that Muslims should take a more active role fighting Islamic terrorists. His organization, like others on Murphy’s list, is widely respected for speaking against the violence that so many in the Muslim community excuse.

Dr. Jasser was understandably upset by Murphy’s characterization, which, he argued, was just another attempt to smear American Muslims leaders as somehow anti-Muslim.

It is a sad day in American discourse when a United States senator motivated by partisan extremism willfully slanders and maligns an American Islamic organization. Never mind that our AIFD happens to actually be dedicated to countering Islamist radicalization and leading efforts at reform in order to defend the homeland. The sad truth Senator Murphy ignores, is that had he actually read the work we have done with former Congressman Pompeo (R-Kans.), he would have learned that we, for example, joined the congressman in exposing the radical Islamist ideology of a radical imam, Sheikh Monzer Taleb, preaching in Congressman Pompeo’s backyard in Wichita. To us, there is nothing more pro-Muslim. Unfortunately, Senator Murphy prefers to read from the scripture of American Islamist talking points handed to him and his staff.

He’s right. Like other liberals, Murphy is just parroting the reckless talking points of groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center. Not to mention, Zuhdi goes on, how dangerous this kind of allegation is. “Do we need to remind Senator Murphy, who obviously knows little to nothing about Islam, Muslims, or any of the dynamics within the American Muslim community, that declaring any group of organizations let alone American Muslims as being anti-Muslim is the equivalent of [calling us apostates or infidels]?”

Fortunately for America, these pathetic campaigns against a qualified man failed. We can celebrate the fact that after a year and a half, the president finally has a leader he can depend on at State. FRC has no doubt that as secretary of state, Mike Pompeo will make international religious freedom a foreign policy priority, an issue that’s especially important given how religious liberty is so intricately connected to the security and prosperity of nations themselves. The State Department needs a strong and competent leader to bring it in line with the president’s policies. In Mike, they have exactly that.

Debunking Lies about Immigration and ‘Family Reunification’

Time to put the interests of American families first.

It has taken decades of concerted efforts by the immigration anarchists to get America to the dangerous point where it is today.

Currently America has a population of unknown millions of illegal aliens who entered the United States covertly and without vetting by running our borders. Their presence in the United States and their very identities are unknown and unknowable.

We also have millions of illegal aliens who violated the terms of their lawful admissions into the United States and have gone “missing in America.”

Incredibly so-called “Sanctuary Cities” and “Sanctuary States” harbor and shield these illegal aliens from detection by the Department of Homeland Security and its component immigration law enforcement agencies, even as mayors of those cities demand to be given federal funds to combat crime and protect their residents against international terrorists they may be harboring.

Securing our nation’s borders and enforcing our immigration laws from within the interior of the United States has nothing to do with racism, bigotry or xenophobia, the lie most often spewed by immigration anarchists, but has everything to do with national security, public safety and public health.

Our immigration laws have nothing to do with race, religion or ethnicity.  A review of Title 8 U.S. Code § 1182 will quickly lay waste to the notion that our immigration laws are about racism or bigotry.  That section of law enumerates the grounds of inadmissibility of aliens without considering their race, religion or ethnicity.

Among the categories of such aliens to be excluded are those who have dangerous communicable diseases, are seriously mentally ill, are criminals, fugitives, spies, terrorists or have been previously deported from the United States and have not been granted authorization since deportation to reenter the United States.  That section of law also protects American workers from unfair foreign competition.

The primary goal of all five branches of the U.S. military is to keep America’s enemies as far from our shores as possible. However, in this era of terrorism and asymmetrical warfare, terrorists don’t engage in conventional warfare against our military, but seek to enter the United States by whatever means that they can, to carry out deadly terrorist attacks against our civilian population.

During World War II Nazi saboteurs came to America on German U-boats and used other covert means to infiltrate the U.S. to spy and commit acts of sabotage.  Today, the terrorists most often enter the United States through ports of entry.

However, all means of entering the United States, both legal means and illegal means, can and have provided terrorists and transnational criminals and fugitives with access to the United States.

As I have frequently noted, the United States has fifty “border states.”  Any state that lies along America’s northern or southern borders are border states as are those states that have access to America’s 95,000 miles of coastline.  Finally, any state that has an international airport is also a border state.

Therefore the mission of immigration law enforcement is to back up the military by making the borders of the United States our first and last line of defense against America’s foes and those foreign nationals who would pose a threat to the safety and well-being of America and Americans.

On September 11, 2001 just nineteen terrorists inflicted more casualties on the United States than did the entire Japanese fleet at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 and the death toll from the attacks of 9/11 continues to climb.

On December 14, 2017 the New York Post reported that a 9/11 first responder killed himself after a battle with lung disease.  That “first responder” was Douglas Greenwood, the NYPD Captain who led the first responders who dug through the mountain of rubble at “Ground Zero” that came to be known as “the pile” searching at first for survivors and then for human remains. His disease not unlike so many others, was attributed to exposure to the toxins released with the World Trade Center complex was destroyed by two hijacked airliners on 9/11.

Today much has been made about chain migration and the underlying principle of “family reunification.”  The idea is that if an alien is granted lawful immigrant status and subsequently becomes a United States citizen, he/she may then petition the U.S. government to have their brothers and sisters become resident aliens along with all of their spouses and minor children.

The incredible lie is that it is unfair for aliens to legally immigrate to the United States and thus be separated from their families. The Obama administration went even beyond the provisions of the immigration laws and mandated that so-called illegal alien “unaccompanied minors” be permitted to enter the United States to be “reunified” with their illegal alien family members who were already living illegally in the United States.

Under current immigration laws, aliens who become lawful immigrants are able to bring their nuclear families with them as immigrants.  This means that their spouses and minor children are also granted Alien Registration Cards (Green Cards). This makes perfect sense.

However, when lawful immigrants become United States citizens, they are then entitled to petition to have their parents and all of their brothers and sisters admitted as lawful immigrants in their own rights.  Furthermore, their siblings are also entitled, as immigrants, to have all of their spouses and minor children granted green cards as well.

Because of this, one newly-minted U.S. citizen can ultimately provide lawful immigrant status to dozens of extended family members.

Under this visa program, the impact that such massive numbers of immigrants will have on job prospects for America workers is not taken into account.  Simply by virtue of a familial relationships, the United States admits large numbers of aliens who may compete unfairly with American workers.

Flooding American schools with non-English speaking children creates a hardship for school districts and the students who attend those beleaguered schools.

In December 2007 the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) published an important report, “The Impact of Unauthorized Immigrants on the Budgets of State and Local Governments” that found that it costs between 20 percent and 40 percent extra to educate students who lack English language proficiency.

We need to take a moment to consider how insane the notion of providing green cards to extended family members of naturalized citizens truly is given how this impacts America and Americans.

To shed light on the absurdity of the false narrative created by the open borders/immigration anarchists that it is reasonable to provide green cards to extended family members to reunite families in the United States, we ought to consider that is not uncommon in America for children to grow up and voluntarily take jobs across the United States and even, outside the United States.

Those children are free to return home for holidays and to attend family functions.  Similarly, members of their families may opt to travel to visit with them in their new homes across the United States.

This is comparable to the alien who makes the willful decision to immigrate to America.  These immigrants and naturalized citizens are certainly free to travel back to their home countries to spend time with their families whenever they wish.

Additionally —  and this is the part of the immigration issue that is never discussed — there are two forms of visas that can be granted to aliens: immigrant visas and non-immigrant visas.

Each year the United States provides approximately one million aliens with lawful immigrant status.  Immigrant visas immediately place the alien on the pathway to citizenship.  However, each year tens of millions of non-immigrant (temporary) foreign visitors are admitted into the United States as tourists, foreign students and authorized temporary workers.

Family members of naturalized citizens are free to travel to the United States, presuming that they have no criminal histories, or other such factors in their backgrounds, as non-immigrant visitors.

They can be granted tourist visas or, if they are citizens of one of the 38 Visa Waiver Countries, don’t require visas to spend up to 90 days in the United States to visit with their family members who have become naturalized citizens.

As tourists they may not work in the United States, but they certainly can spend time with their family members here.

Back when I was an Immigration Inspector at the beginning of my career with the INS it was not uncommon form many foreign visitors to travel to the United States on tourist visas to visit for a temporary period with their family members who had immigrated to the United States.

Today the news media and advocates for open border and immigration anarchy refuse to discuss this aspect of the lawful immigration program because it provides a “solution” to a problem that really does not exist.

Current immigration laws are not incompatible with the compassion of our nation.

Non-immigrant visas can enable families to be reunited in a way that does not undermine the lives and livelihoods of Americans and the sovereignty and security of our nation.  However, this runs contrary to the immigration anarchists who are often improperly referred to as being “pro-immigrant” by the compliant globalist media.

Last night, the Palm Beach Gardens city council voted 4-1 (with Matt Lane voting ‘nay’) to place an amendment on the March ballot to overturn the term limits citizens initiative approved in November 2014 by 79% of Palm Beach Gardens voters. Citizen after citizen took the stand at the meeting with the message “don’t touch our term limits.” But one of the most illuminating was by resident Sid Dinerstein, a prime mover behind the term limits initiative:

SID DINERSTEIN: The first question I ask after having been here two months ago was how do five very well-intentioned city council candidates turn into five special interest apologists in a wink of an eye.  So, I do what everybody does when they have problems like that and I follow the money.

So here’s what I figured out: the extra three years you want the electorate to give you is worth $200,000 to each of you.$30,000 plus for your base pay. $20,000 each of your own Cadillac health insurance packages. [To audience] How many of you people get one like that? And $10,000 for the pension that you get that we pay for that no one knows that you get.

Then, additional thousands for mileage and giving reimbursements when you reach into our pockets instead of into your own.Multiply that by three years and you just pocketed a cool $200,000.

I figured that out, I didn’t have to wonder anymore what happened to you guys. And why you are so unappreciative of the work we did when we put our hands in our pockets to get rid of the guys who were never leaving so we can have five new people just like you.Furthermore, something that I am guessing you don’t know, in the David Levy term limits saga we the taxpayers, and this includes you, gave the city attorney $232,000. That’s what it came to for the privilege of trying to overturn the will of the voters.

MAJORITY OF ONE: Gardens Council Member stands up for the voters

Last night [December 8, 2017], the Palm Beach Gardens city council voted to place four amendments on the sleepy March ballot, one of which would overturn the 6-year term limits law approved in November 2014 by 79% of Palm Beach gardens voters in a high-turnout general election. While the self-serving majority rushed to extend their terms via their new term limits proposal, one council member brought the citizens to their feet with his thoughtful case for honesty and restraint. Here is Matthew Jay Lane’s case for his sole nay vote: 

COUNCIL MEMBER MATTHEW LANE:  …I think the timing of these four proposals is extremely poor. We just had an election where over 20,000 Palm Beach Gardens showed up, 79% of them approved a citizen initiative that limited city council members terms to two consecutive three-year terms.  It seems to me that for this council who are sitting in our seats because of term limits to make it one of our first priorities to say that we want three more years in office — it just seems like an amazing act of hubris, really terrible timing. It is saying to the the  80% of Gardens residents that came out that their vote didn’t mean anything. You gave us your opinion, and we don’t care.

Second, this proposal doesn’t address the most fundamental problem with the charter as it currently exists. Our terms in office need to be staggered. When I’ve spoken to the members of the charter review committee individually and when I have spoken to leading members of our community whom I respect , they’ve told me our terms need to be staggered. When this council took office the collective experience of the five members of this council were one year and seven months. There needs to be a mechanism put in place in this charter that obviates this problem.

This leads me to the third issue. The reason that the committees proposal doesn’t stagger the terms is because the members of the committee were not given sufficient time to complete their work. I attended a presentation by the vice chair of the charter review committee where she said the committee didn’t have sufficient time to look into the issue of staggering the terms and the facilitator of the committee, Dr. Lee, commented that this whole process was being done in weeks when it usually takes months to years  to appropriately and thoughtfully complete this task.

Fourth, the city shouldn’t be spending between $70-80,000 for a free-standing election where these important proposals are being hidden on a March ballot with the hope that they’ll be passed. Two-thirds of the registered voters voted for term limits in a general election where there was a high voter turnout. By placing this issue on the ballot this March we are permitting a small group of 1,000-2,000 people to overturn the vote of the 20,000 people who voted for a specific term limit.

Fifth, two of the five members of the charter review committee thought that we should have two four-year terms, which is really the norm across the country and the norm in the state of Florida. And I believe that the logic supporting this proposal is substantial and persuasive. And so I agree with two of the five members of the charter review committee on this issue. However, I have discussed this at a prior meeting and I won’t keep you here to hear my rationale again.

So, although I have high regard for the five people who agreed to serve on the charter review committee, I consider them as friends, and although as a matter of course I usually agree with these people 95% of the time, on this issue strongly disagree and I am voting against all four of the proposed changes to the charter. I believe the recommendations of the charter review committee were badly timed, rushed through without sufficient time to do the job right, are being hidden on the March ballot where very few people are expected to attend, and they are incomplete proposals…

… The public also needs to know that we as a council are receiving emails almost daily opposing the [council’s new] term limits which were recently voted upon by 80%. If we pass these ordinances in the deceptive form in which they are written, we are intentionally — these ordinances as written are intentionally attempting to deceive the public and we will be that type of politician that we are being accused of being in all these emails from our constituents who opposed these [new] term limits.

So for these reasons, I am voting against.

The United States remains deeply concerned about Iran’s malign activities across the Middle East which undermine regional stability, security, and prosperity. Iran continues to support terrorist groups such as Hizballah, Hamas, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad that threaten Israel and stability in the Middle East. Iran has maintained its steadfast support for the Assad regime, despite Assad’s atrocities against his own people. Iran also continues to provide the Houthi rebels in Yemen with advanced weaponry that threatens freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, has been used to attack Saudi Arabia, and is prolonging the Yemen conflict. Additionally, Iran continues to test and develop ballistic missiles, in direct defiance of UN Security Council Resolution 2231. The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) states the anticipation of JCPOA participants that “full implementation of this JCPOA will positively contribute to regional and international peace and security.” However, Iran’s other malign activities are serving to undercut whatever “positive contributions” to regional and international peace and security were intended to emerge from the JCPOA.

In response to these continued Iranian threats, the Administration today announces that it has designated 18 entities and individuals supporting Iran’s ballistic missile program and for supporting Iran’s military procurement or Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as well as an Iran-based transnational criminal organization and associated persons. Today’s actions were taken pursuant to Executive Order (E.O.) 13382, which targets proliferators of weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery and supporters of such activity, as well as E.O. 13581, which targets transnational criminal organizations.

Specifically, the U.S. Department of State designated two entities pursuant to E.O. 13382 for engaging, or attempting to engage, in activities or transactions that have materially contributed to, or pose a risk of materially contributing to, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction or their means of delivery. The State Department designated the IRGC Aerospace Force Self Sufficiency Jihad Organization (ASF SSJO), which is involved in Iranian ballistic missile research and flight test launches. In addition, the State Department designated the IRGC Research and Self Sufficiency Jehad Organization (RSSJO), which is responsible for the research and development of ballistic missiles.

Additionally, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), designated seven entities and five individuals for engaging in activities in support of Iran’s military procurement or the IRGC, as well as an Iran-based transnational criminal organization and three associated persons. Today’s action targets three networks supporting Iran’s military procurement or the IRGC through the development of unmanned aerial vehicles and military equipment for the IRGC, the production and maintenance of fast attack boats for the IRGC-Navy, or the procurement of electronic components for entities that support Iran’s military. OFAC also designated two Iranian businessmen and associated entities who orchestrated the theft of U.S. and western software programs which, at times, were sold to the Government of Iran.

The Iranian regime also continues to detain U.S. citizens and other foreigners on fabricated national-security related charges. We call upon Iran to release U.S. citizens Baquer Namazi, Siamak Namazi, and Xiyue Wang, and all other unjustly detained U.S. citizens, so that they can be reunited with their families. The United States is deeply concerned about reports of the declining health of the Namazis, Wang, and other detained U.S. citizens. Iran should immediately release all of these U.S. citizens on humanitarian grounds. It has also been more than a decade since Robert Levinson disappeared from Iran’s Kish Island. Iran committed to cooperating with the United States in bringing Bob home and we call on Iran to fulfill this commitment. The United States remains unwavering in its efforts to return Bob to his family. Iran’s regime has an egregious human rights record, which includes denial of the freedom of religion or belief as well as other human rights and fundamental freedoms to individuals in Iran. Notably, arbitrary arrest and detention of members of religious minorities and political activists, is common as is the use of torture and other forms of abuse in detention. On June 27, the United States released its annual report on Trafficking in Persons. In the report, Iran is again ranked as a Tier 3 country because it does not take significant steps to address its extensive trafficking problem nor does it fully meet the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking and is not making significant efforts to do so. Iran is a source, transit, and destination country for men, women, and children subjected to sex trafficking and forced labor. Notably, Iran also coerces Afghan refugees into participating in combat in Syria, deporting those who refuse to do so, and it supports militias fighting in Iraq that recruited and used child soldiers. These abhorrent abuses only fuel conflict throughout the Middle East.

The Administration is continuing to conduct a full review of U.S. policy toward Iran. During the course of this review, the United States will continue to aggressively counter Iran’s malign activities in the region. While the review is ongoing, the United States will also continue to expect strict Iranian adherence to Iran’s nuclear commitments under the JCPOA and look to the International Atomic Energy Agency to continue to monitor and verify all of Iran’s nuclear commitments. In addition, the United States will continue to comply with its commitments under the JCPOA. As a result, we communicated to the U.S. Congress on July 17 that the United States continues to waive sanctions as required to continue implementing U.S. sanctions-lifting commitments in the JCPOA, and is certifying to Congress that, based on available information, the conditions of Section 135(d)(6) of the of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 (AEA), as amended, including as amended by the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015 (Public Law 114-17), enacted on May 22, 2015, are met as of July 17, 2017. We also note Iran’s continued malign activities outside the nuclear issue undermine the positive contributions to regional and international peace and security that the deal was supposed to provide. The United States will continue to use sanctions to target those who lend support to Iran’s destabilizing behavior and above all, the United States will never allow the regime in Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon.

Vetting Keith Ellison

The Huffington Post’s headline, Minneapolis Jewish Community Defends Rep. Keith Ellison against Anti-Semitism allegations, indicated that Ellison (D-Minn) was making his bid to head the Democrat National Committee.  But are such allegations against Ellison implausible?

Consider that the Democrat Party has been sloping further to the left for some time, relying on a voter base that has been under-informed, spoiled, weakened, and entitled.  The ugly result is a nation divided by political party, race, financial success, gender and religion, a society consumed with bigotry and disorder.  Therefore, it is not inconceivable that an anti-Semite could take the stage from which liberals abandoned their traditional values of Judaism and Christianity in favor of the creed of multiculturalism and its deceptive liturgy of peace and ecumenism.

Enter ISNA (Islamic Society of North America), an affiliate of the Muslim Brotherhood that has been diligently marketing a false similarity between the so-called “three great Abrahamic faiths.”  Jewish congregations, guided by leaders unaware of the unalterable nature of Islamic dictates and their incompatibility with western values, welcome the interfaith programs, hoping for a dialogue of peace with the Islamic world.

The rabbis are irresponsibly under-informed about Islam’s resolve to dominate the entire world – through violence when in the majority and by deception when not.  They are either oblivious or unwilling to acknowledge the history of Islam and, specifically, Jewish history under Islam, and its current bloody manifestation across the globe; therefore, they are unqualified to so advise their congregations.  They are the blind leading the blind, both doomed to blunder.

If the rabbis have ever heard of BDS (boycott, divestment and sanctions) or of the Jewish students who must defend themselves across our campuses, they remain silent.  Neither do they deliberate the doctrine of the Muslim Brotherhood, “It is the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its law on all nations and to extend its power to the entire planet.”  The invading Muslim migrants who behead and rape the host populations, create no-go zones, and generate a fear that prevents the innocent from wearing religious symbols are also off the table.  I speak from experience; I have attended such events.

In a country the size of the U.S., where her citizens have already been conditioned to set aside their Judeo-Christian ethics, the Jews eschew the Torah’s morality and guidance, and accept baseless equality.  Sincerely, but naively, desirous of harmony, a substantial number of American Jews have been motivated to abandon their identity to their religion, nationhood and common history, and align themselves with socialism, leftism, communism, and Islamism – globalism.  Seventy-two percent of Muslims voted for Obama; 40 percent of Muslims in America want Sharia standards; 46 percent of Muslims believe Americans who criticize Islam should face criminal charges, of which 7.2 percent agree on execution. The Jews evidently see Islam through a lens of moral equivalence and sacrifice their own morality, competence, and courage.  Eighty percentof the Jews voted for Obama.

Terrorism and civilizational jihad succeed when freethinking liberals are separated from their
faith, Jewish or Christian, and the rally for Palestinian statehood over Israel’s survival inevitably follows.  Although Jews may still oppose the revisionist denunciations of the Holocaust, they irrationally accept the new revisionism – the false narrative of the Palestinian demand for statehood on Jewish soil or the fleeing Syrians’ need for Western safe havens.

Brigadier S.K. Malik, Pakistan 1979, explained, “Psychological dislocation is temporary; spiritual dislocation is permanent.”  The Minneapolis Jewish Community is an example of “spiritual dislocation” when they accept those who have openly declared war on the Jews and defend their anti-democratic doctrines.  Indeed, they are apologists for Ellison. Despite Ellison’s revealed hand, tolerance remains the Jews’ driving force.

Rep. Ellison, the first Muslim to take his oath of office to the United States Congress with his hand upon the Qur’an, has made no secret of his pilgrimage to Mecca in December 2016, and its funding by the radical Muslim American Society (MAS) of Minnesota, with its strong ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, which the United Arab Emirates declared a terrorist organization. All Muslims are obliged to perform jihad; 98 percent of the hadith is about jihad and war against the world to achieve dominance, either through terror and violence or through psychological warfare. As a faithful Muslim, true to his god and his prophet, Ellison must support jihad, anti-Semitism, misogyny and homophobia. He may pretend to defend the US Constitution, but his mission is to replace it with Islamic law, whether softly or by force – and foolish Democrat politicians not only stand in solidarity with Islam, but are also considering electing one of their band to lead their Party!

Ellison has been closely allied with the Nation of Islam’s anti-Semitic Reverend Louis Farrakahn), who is dedicated to developing Islam in America; with Reverend Al Sharpton, who called for beating Jews in the streets; and with Reverend Jesse Jackson, known for anti-Jewish slurs.  Ellison has made several appearances at MAS events that hosted radical speakers, including Hamas leadership, and attended a 2010 re-election fundraiser, where support was expressed for Hamas, laments were articulated for an assassinated terrorist leader, and where Ellison condemned Israel for having too much influence on the US., although he falsely alibied on CNN that it was merely a question of political involvement.  In Islam, war is deceit and deceit is war.  Ellison was obliged to decline the latest invitation to MAS, due not to preference, but to pressure.  But surely, while one may cease to frequent a preferred restaurant, should we really expect him to stop dining entirely?

Michael Latz, senior rabbi at the Minneapolis synagogue Shir Tikvah, claims the idea of Ellison’s being anti-Semitic is nahrishkeit (foolishness), but true nahrishkeit is the denial of danger warnings in the face of evidence, particularly if the nahr (fool) recklessly assumes responsibility for others.  Perhaps R. Latz would consider asking Ellison some questions on current concerning issues.

On Islam:

  • Does Representative Ellison consider Islam superior to all other religions?
  • Does he agree with the credo of the Muslim Brotherhood, “It is the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its law on all nations and to extend its power to the entire planet.”
  • Will he work with his coreligionists to insinuate Sharia law into the US Constitution?
  • Does he consider it reasonable to pressure Israel into negotiating with an assemblage whose Charter affirms their commitment to Israel’s destruction?

On Israel:

  • There are twenty-two Arab states covering one thousand times the landmass of Israel. Does he support pressuring the one Jewish state to relinquish its land and Jewish identity for the Palestinians?
  • By how much land would Ellison expect to reduce Israel?
  • Does he support the 1967 Armistice lines for Israel’s borders even if that makes her indefensible?
  • Does he consider the term “Palestinian” to be historically accurate and advocate their claim to the right of return even though their surnames reflect their origins as Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iraq?
  • If he agrees with the concept of Land for Peace, and should this apply to other countries?
  • Does he agree to Israel’s relinquishing the Golan Heights to Syria, even though the residents under Israel are living well, with good healthcare, schools, that are not available to them in Islamic countries?

On Laws:

  • Twenty percent of Israel’s population is Muslim.  Would he agree to a like number of Jews living in the new Palestinian state?
  • Non-Jews are permitted to serve in the Knesset (Israel’s parliament), but Jews are not permitted to serve in governments of Arab countries.  Women have far fewer rights than men do, and homosexuals have no rights to live under Islam.  Does Ellison consider Israel to be an apartheid nation and, if not, would he be willing to announce his opinion openly?
  • Does he consider valid the Balfour Declaration that supported the formal establishment of a Jewish homeland?
  • Ellison voted several times against funding Israel’s defense system. Has he done the same for funding Hamas? Do his donations go to the Brotherhood that supports Hamas? Has Ellison ever supported Israel’s defense in a neighborhood that repeatedly issues warnings and attacks Israel?
  • Does he consider the Western Wall a Jewish or Muslim holy site?  And the Tombs of Joseph and Rachel?

On Terror:

  • Does Ellison justify the indiscriminate bombing of Jewish homes and schools from conceded territories of Gaza and Judea/Samaria (the West Bank)?
  • Does he support the BDS movement and would he work to dismantle the Students for Justice in Palestine (JVP) and other radical Islamist groups that target Jews and Israel?  (Jews do not target Muslims.)
  • The Israeli barrier, only 5% of which is an actual wall, dramatically reduced the number of Israel’s casualties.  Does he believe it should be removed?  Is he aware of how many walls exist in the world, many throughout the Middle East, and the purpose they serve?
  • Where does he stand on the issues of hijra (migrant invasion) in America?

Ellison’s defenders:

  • Can Ellison describe to Rabbi Sim Glaser of Temple Israel how he’s changed since he severed his ties to the Nation of Islam?
  • Glaser says Ellison would “probably” ally with the underdog. What pro-Israeli actions did Ellison take when Obama set new perilous boundaries for Israel? when Iran threatened Israel? and each time he heard of kidnappings, murders, and terror attacks on Israelis by Palestinians?

We have seen our laws whittled away to accommodate Muslims in universities across the country, in business and in government.  It is time for the Community to seriously reflect on what they might expect for Israel and the American-Jewish community, were Keith Ellison to become the leader of the Democrat Party.

We agree there is a real need to help people suffering with debilitating medical conditions and to alleviate pain. However, the goal of Amendment 2 is not to help the sick, but to create a constitutional right to grow, sell, and consume pot.

Amendment 2 claims to be about legalizing just medical marijuana, but its wording amounts to the de-facto legalization of pot in Florida. 

Prominent and well-respected groups such as the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Epilepsy Society, Florida Medical Association, Florida Police Chiefs Association, Florida Sheriffs Association, Florida Chamber of Commerce, Florida Farm Bureau, Florida Baptist Convention, Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops and Florida Family Action, among others who are publicly opposing Amendment 2.Elected officials (both Republican and Democrat) have also urged a no vote on 2. And at least five former Florida Supreme Court Justices oppose Amendment 2.

Amendment 2 is bad policy for Florida. Here are five critical reasons why we believe you should VOTE NO on Amendment 2:

1. FLORIDA ALREADY HAS MEDICAL MARIJUANA

Medical Marijuana Already Legal in FloridaThe Florida Legislature already legalized medical marijuana. In fact, TWO different laws are actively in effect today. In 2014, Florida passed “Charlotte’s Web” allowing the use of low-THC (non-euphoric) marijuana by those suffering from cancer, seizures or severe muscle spasms and for whom no other treatment has proven effective.

In 2015, Florida’s “Right to Try Act” was amended to include medical marijuana, allowing patients with terminal conditions to access the drug without FDA approval. We recognize the real need to help people suffering with debilitating medical conditions and to alleviate pain. We believe these two EXISTING laws properly provide for these situations and that Amendment 2 is completely unnecessary.

2. FLORIDA DOES NOT NEED 2,000 POT SHOPS2000 pot shops florida
If this amendment passes, within the first year approximately 2,000 “pot shops” will spring up around the state (according to estimates from Florida’s Department of Health.) This is twice the number of McDonald’s restaurants in the state of Florida.

3. ALLOWING THE SALE OF UNSAFE “EDIBLES” PUTS CHILDREN AT RISK
Pot TartsAmendment 2 legalizes marijuana foods (edible products laced with marijuana) which will include cookies, candies, and “pot-tarts.” These are obviously enticing to children, and in “medical” marijuana states like California, children are being rushed to the ER after unknowingly consuming marijuana in the form of candy.

States where medical marijuana is legal have been shown to have higher rates of calls to poison-control centers and ER visits by children under 9 years of age for unintentional marijuana exposure. Edible products have also caused deaths in Colorado.

4. AMENDMENT 2 WOULD PROHIBIT REGULATION OF THE POT INDUSTRYNo Pot Regulation
Amendment 2 ties the hands of our elected representatives to respond to its inevitable unintended consequences. Because it grants a fundamental “constitutional right” to sell, purchase and consume marijuana, the Florida Legislature and other state regulatory bodies would be unable to pass common-sense legislation to correct problems with the amendment’s outcomes. Instead, another constitutional amendment will be necessary, a very lengthy and costly process.

This is not an issue appropriate for a Constitution, a document intended for fundamental rights and the structure of government. Florida has an unfortunate history of placing policy issues in our state Constitution – like fish net bans, pregnant pig regulations and others. The bottom line is this: drugs should not be permanently enshrined in Florida’s Constitution.

 5. INCREASED POTENCY LEVELS MEAN INCREASED HEALTH RISKS
20 Times StrongerMarijuana would not be dispensed at pharmacies with a doctor’s prescription. Instead, it would be sold by what the marijuana industry refers to as “budtenders,” with NO medical training or clinical experience required.

Further, Amendment 2 does not regulate the strength or potency of the marijuana being used. In Colorado, THC levels have increased from around 15% to more than 20%, and levels in extracted hashish or concentrates can reportedly reach 90%. There have been increased public safety incidences and the CDC warns of the “potential danger.” There is no standard amount, quality or limit to the pot that may be contained in an edible. As in other states, the wide range of marijuana products available and their increased potency would haveserious public health implications for Florida.

Lie #1 is Benghazi. LyingCrookedHillary.com states:

Hillary has no shame! The Benghazi attacks were a preventable tragedy disgraced further by Hillary’s web of lies.

She knew within hours that the attacks in Benghazi were a terrorist attack, and not a spontaneous protest due to a You Tube Video. But she lied anyways. She stood in front of the flag-draped coffins of four Americans that died serving their country and peddled the lie that the video was to blame both to the victims’ families and the American public.

But she didn’t only lie about what she knew about the Benghazi attack; she had the gall to say that she never told the Benghazi victims’ families that the video was to blame – essentially calling THEM liars.

Koch Brothers begin running anti-Trump ads in Florida

Koch funded American Future Fund Political Action (AFF-PA) is running a new six-figure Florida ad buy The ad buy attacks Trump’s claims to be “highly educated” and to “have the best words” that these “best words” largely consist of public outbursts of profanity and vulgarity unbefitting a President of the United States. The American Future Fund is an Iowa-based 501(c)(4) tax-exempt organization affiliated with the Center to Protect Patient Rights.

The Associate Press reported:

Worried about ‘Republican on Republican violence,’ top party donors are taking action, with one firing off a letter calling for more civility and another seeking to block businessman Donald Trump from the debate stage altogether.

“Civility” is a code word for “political correctness.”

Many see this ad run in Florida as an attempt to save the Rubio campaign. It is part of the #AnyoneButTrump effort to discredit the leading candidate for the GOP presidential nomination.

But will it work or just drive more people to the polls to vote for Trump in Florida?

The ad does not attack Trump’s positions on issues such as national security, immigration, the economy or government overreach. Rather it takes soundbites from Trump on the campaign trail, focusing on those showing “Trump at public appearances uttering bleeped-out profanities and vulgarities including “motherf*****,” “a**,” “p***y,” “d**n,” “s***,” and “f***.” The idea is to portray Trump as not presidential.

What is interesting about this ad is that Trump is loved because he doesn’t fit the mold of a politically correct presidential candidate. To many Trump is a breath of fresh air.

Trump speaks the language of ordinary, middle class Americans of all ages, races, creeds and color. He uses their language to communicate his ideas. Ideas that Trumpites and a growing number of Democrats, Independents and black voters understand and embrace.

American Future Fund Political Action spokesperson Stuart Roy said, “Donald Trump’s repeated public reliance on profanities and vulgarities to express himself is one more piece in an ever-mounting pile of evidence that he does not have the temperament or moral integrity to lead the world’s greatest nation. As the ad concludes, Trump is ‘offensive and out-of-control.’ America and the world are watching, and we can – and must – do better if we are to maintain our exceptionalism and global leadership.”

Civility doesn’t win elections, straight talk does.

If you want to hear these same words used by Trump in the AFF-PA ad, or far worse, then just go to any Hollywood movie (i.e. Marvel’s Deadpool), or watch television, or listen to rap music or pick up a “young adult” novel your child is reading in America’s public schools.

Trump, when he uses expletives, it is to drive home his point. It is talking to the American voter, not the politically correct elite, the media or the Koch brothers.

What’s that saying? Sticks and stones may break my bones but words may win the GOP presidential nomination in 2016!

“What is clear is that Iran will now have more resources to divert to terrorism and its aggression in the region and around the world, and Israel is prepared to deal with any threat,” Netanyahu said at his weekly cabinet meeting, according to a transcript released by his office.

Netanyahu’s assessment stood in stark contrast with that of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, who a day earlier said that both the world and the Middle East were now safer thanks to the implementation of the Iran nuclear deal.

“Today … the United States, our friends and allies in the Middle East, and the entire world are safer because the threat of a nuclear weapon has been reduced,” Kerry said Saturday in Vienna.

The Israeli leader vowed that his government would monitor “all of Iran’s international violations, including regarding the nuclear agreement, the ballistic missile agreement and terrorism.”

He also urged other countries to “enact severe and aggressive sanctions against each violation.”

“Were it not for our efforts to lead sanctions and thwart Iran’s nuclear program, Iran would have had nuclear weapons some time ago. Israel’s policy is exactly as it has been – not to allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapon,” Netanyahu added….

Devout Muslim charged with setting fire to his own mosque

At the time the fire was set, it garnered much attention as a “hate crime”: “The Houston chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations called on authorities to investigate a possible bias motive in the case, citing what it called a ‘recent spike in hate incidents targeting mosques nationwide.’”

But it turns out to have been yet another fake hate crime. Islamic supremacist groups such as the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) want and need hate crimes against Muslims, because they’re the currency they use to buy power and influence in our victimhood-oriented society, and to deflect attention away from jihad terror and onto Muslims as putative victims.

Hamas-linked CAIR, designated a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates, and other Muslims have on many occasions not hesitated to stoop even to fabricating “hate crimes,” including attacks on mosques. Most notably, in February, a New Jersey Muslim was found guilty of murder that he tried to portray as an “Islamophobic” attack, and in 2014 in California, a Muslim was found guilty of killing his wife, after first blaming her murder on “Islamophobia.”

A Houston man has been arrested in connection with a suspected arson at a mosque on Christmas Day.

A spokeswoman for the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives confirmed that the man was arrested early Wednesday, sometime after midnight, and appeared in court 7 a.m. Wednesday.

The suspect, Gary Nathaniel Moore, 37, of Houston, appeared in court at 7 a.m., spokeswoman Nicole Strong said.

According to a charging instrument released by the Harris County District Clerk, Moore told investigators at the scene that he has attended the mosque for five years, coming five times per day to pray seven days per week.

Moore told investigators he had been at the mosque earlier on Dec. 25 to pray, and had left at about 2 p.m. to go home. Moore told investigators he was the last person to leave the mosque and saw no smoke or other signs of fire when he left. He had returned to the scene after hearing about the fire from a friend.

Though the suspect said he was a regular at the mosque, MJ Khan, president of the Islamic Society of Greater Houston, which operates the mosque, said he was unfamiliar with Moore.

Of course. No doubt MJ Khan is shocked! Shocked!

“We are just looking into it ourselves,” he said Wednesday morning after learning of the arrest.

“We are really very surprised and saddened by this whole thing,” said Khan.

Using surveillance video from multiple businesses nearby, investigators were able to identify Moore, according to records. A search warrant of his home was conducted, in which investigators recovered a backpack and clothing that seemingly matched that which was seen in surveillance footage, as well as one half of a two-pack of charcoal lighter fluid bottles that seemed to match another lighter fluid bottle found inside the mosque….

The neo-Democrat Party: Devout followers of Marx, Mao and Mohammed

Numerous writers and political pundits have written on President Obama’s pledge to “fundamentally transform America” when elected in 2008.

I believe what President Obama has truly done is fundamentally transformed the Democratic Party of JFK to the Democrat Party of BHO. I use the word Democrat because the Party of Obama is not Democratic, as envisioned by Thomas Jefferson. The membership of the neo-Democrat Party are made up primarily of the devout followers of Marx, Mao and Mohammed.

Those who oppose Obama and the neo-Democrat Party, including JFK Democrats, are subject to ridicule, rejection and bullying.

Extremism in the name of the collective is the over riding strategy of the neo-Democrat. Radicalism is the tactic. The more extreme the ideal, the more it is embraced. This leads to what some have labeled a form of political insanity. I call it political suicide. History teaches us that tyrants and tyranny ultimately lose the support of the masses. Why? Because the policies implemented harm the masses.

Ayn Rand wrote a short nineteen page paper asking: What is the basic issue facing the world today? Rand, in her paper makes the case that, “The basic issue in the world today is between two principles: Individualism and Collectivism.” Rand defines these two principles as follows:

  • Individualism – Each man exists by his own right and for his own sake, not for the sake of the group.
  • Collectivism – Each man exists only by the permission of the group and for the sake of the group.

The ideal of collectivism is alive and well in the neo-Democrat Party. Collectivism is what drives the followers of Marx, Mao and Mohammed, those who make up the core of the neo-Democrat Party.

Ayn Rand wrote:

“The uncontested absurdities of today are the accepted slogans of tomorrow. They come to be accepted by degrees, by dint of constant pressure on one side and constant retreat on the other – until one day when they are suddenly declared to be the country’s official ideology.”

Here are some of the absurdities that have become the official ideology of the neo-Democrat Party:

  • The greatest national security threat is climate change (i.e. formerly global warming).
  • White Christian men are a greater threat than the Islamic State, Iran and the Black Lives Matter movement.
  • Spending on social programs is more important than spending on national security.
  • Engagement and dialogue with America’s enemies (i.e. Iran) is preferred to any form of confrontation.
  • Nationalized health care (the Affordable Care Act) is affordable.
  • Deficit spending is good for the economy and will create jobs.
  • Putting more Americans on the public dole is good for creating more government jobs.
  • Anyone who disagrees with the neo-Democrat Party policies is racist, homophobic, Islamophobic and a national security threat.
  • People don’t kill people, guns kill people (e.g. need to outlaw guns).
  • Public schools must teach children what to think, not how to think (i.e. Common Core).
  • Aborting the unborn and selling their body parts is noble.
  • Bigger government, more regulations and centralized powers and greater control over the behaviors of citizens is good.
  • Coal, oil and natural gas are evil.
  • Saving the planet is more important than saving the human race.
  • A weak America is good for world peace.
  • The Judeo/Christian God is dead.

The Democratic Party of JFK has morphed into the neo-Democrat Party by dint of constant pressure from the radicals and the constant retreat of the Jeffersonian Democrats.

Today the Democrat Party has fundamentally transformed into the party of Marx, Mao and Mohammed.

It is a struggle between the civilized man and the uncivilized man (savage).
