Russian Collusion Exposed: Russia Funded Environmental Groups to Oppose Fracking in Europe and U.S.

From March 1, 2018 U.S. Congress Report: United States House of Representatives – Committee on Science, Space, and Technology – Russian Attempts to Influence U.S. Domestic Energy Markets by Exploiting Social Media Majority Report

Excerpt from 2018 Congressional Report: Fracking Threatens the Kremlin’s Agenda

Republicans and Democrats agree the Kremlin is manipulating environmental groups in an attempt to carry out their agenda

The Kremlin has a motive to disrupt U.S. energy markets and influence domestic energy policy, since American energy represents a direct threat to Russian energy interests. Russia’s efforts to influence U.S. energy policy are well documented in the public domain. U.S. presidential candidates, European officials, and the U.S. intelligence community have all publicly noted that Russia and its government corporations are funding a covert anti-fracking campaign to suppress the widespread adoption of fracking in Europe and the U.S., all in an effort to protect the influence of the Russian oil and gas sector.22

The substantial increase in domestic production has resulted in an abundant supply of American energy, which is increasingly making its way into the global marketplace. While this stands to provide substantial economic benefits to the U.S., it simultaneously represents a direct threat to Russian energy interests. First, an abundance of American supply in the global energy marketplace stands to reduce Russian market share and thus revenues generated from oil and gas activities. Second, by providing supply alternatives for European countries dependent on Russian supply and infrastructure, American energy stands to disrupt the Kremlin’s ability to leverage energy consumption for geopolitical influence.

Russia provides roughly 75 percent of the natural gas imported by countries in Central and Eastern Europe while the countries in Southeast Europe “receive almost all of their natural gas from Russia.” 17 “Russia’s Gazprom has acknowledged for the first time a threat to its dominant position in European gas market from an expected influx of liquefied natural gas (LNG) produced in the United States under [the Trump] administration.” 18 Shortly after this acknowledgment, U.S. LNG made its way to Poland 19 and Lithuania. 20 In fact, Poland recently signed a five-year deal with the United States to import liquefied natural gas into the country in an attempt to decrease dependency on Russian energy supplies. 21 …

As the threat of American energy continues to grow, so does the Kremlin’s incentive to influence energy operations in Europe and the United States. Moreover, as they have demonstrated, the Kremlin will use any and all tools at their disposal to preserve Russia’s dominant energy status and to maintain its stranglehold over Eastern and Central Europe. …

Former Secretary of State and then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, with access to intelligence reports, made a private speech in 2014, according to documents from WikiLeaks, which included statements about the struggles of dealing with Russian-backed environmental groups. According to a media report, Secretary Clinton said the following: “We [the State Department and the U.S.] were up against Russia pushing oligarchs and others to buy media.
We were even up against phony environmental groups, and I’m a big environmentalist, but these were funded by the Russians to stand against any effort, ‘Oh that pipeline, that fracking, that whatever will be a problem for you,’ and a lot of the money supporting that message was coming from Russia.”24 …

In January 2017, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence released a report that contained “clear evidence that the Kremlin is financing and choreographing anti-fracking propaganda in the United States.” 25 The report found that the Russian-sponsored news agency RT (formerly Russian Today) “r[an] anti-fracking programing, highlighting environmental issues and the impacts on public health,” which “is likely reflective of the Russian Government’s concern about the impact of fracking and the U.S. natural gas production on the global energy market and the potential challenges to [Russian energy companies’] profitability,” such as state- controlled Russian energy giant Gazprom.26 …

A Republican staff report by the Senate suggests that Russian funds have been funneled through off-shore corporations and passed on to U.S.- based environmental activist organizations with the intent to effect political change. 27 …

More recently Senator Ben Cardin released a voluminous report on Russian manipulation of the media over decades. Specific to oil and gas, the Cardin report cited a “study by the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies [which] reports that the Russian government has invested $95 million in NGOs that seek to persuade EU governments to end shale gas exploration,” which illustrates how American energy directly clashes with the Russian energy agenda.28 Senator Cardin’s work reiterates that “according to NATO officials, Russian intelligence agencies also reportedly provide covert support to European environmental groups to campaign against fracking for natural gas, thereby keeping the EU more dependent on Russian supplies.”29

Additionally, as further evidence of Russian attempts to spread propaganda in the United States, U.S. Department of Justice officials have demanded that the U.S. based affiliate of RT register as a foreign agent under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).30 FARA requires that agents representing the interests of foreign governments in any political or quasi-political capacity disclose public communications aimed at influencing American political debate or public policy.31 Through local programs all over the world, RT and other news agencies operate as a government-funded arm of Russia in its attempts to destabilize and disrupt democratic institutions and the free market. Under FARA, the American people have the right to evaluate the “statements and activities of [persons acting as foreign agents] in light of their function as foreign agents.”32

To that end, the Kremlin is attempting to make, as Senator Cardin’s report states, “useful idiots” of unwitting environmental groups and activists in furtherance of its energy influence operations.33

2018: CFACT report: Real Russian collusion the MSM ignores– By Paul Driessen

Driessen Excerpt: The US Senate “Billionaires’ Club” and Environmental Policy Alliance “From Russia with Love” reports, articles by investigative journalists like Ron Arnold and Lachlan Markay (here and here), studies by the US National Intelligence Director and Iowa State University, and a March 2018 report by the US House Science Committee reveal money laundering by Putin cronies and ongoing propaganda efforts by Russian media groups to undermine American drilling, fracking, pipeline and agricultural programs. … Hefty portions of Klein funds come from Russia: Rosneft, the Russian-government-owned oil and gas giant that is one of Wakefield’s largest clients; Spectrum Partners, a Moscow-based energy investment firm with major assets in Russian oil and gas; the IPOC Group, an international growth fund owned by Russian minister of telecommunications and Putin friend Leonid Reiman; and other Russian companies. (Other Sea Change donors include the Gates Foundation, eBay’s Omidyar Network Fund, David Rockefeller’s personal foundation, the Walmart Foundation and the extended Simons family.)

The Science Committee Report explains how the Russian government funnel money through surrogates to US environmentalist organizations to fund attacks on the fossil fuels industry. It also reveals how Russian operatives create and spread propaganda on US social media platforms, to manipulate American opinions about pipelines, fossil fuels, fracking and climate change.

Standing up to Putin means ditching Net-Zero (& Green New Deal) – ‘The West can’t win a geopolitical conflict…with an economy powered intermittently by wind & solar’

Rupert Darwall: In late 2019, Boris Johnson banned commercial fracking. Earlier this month, the British government ordered that concrete be poured into the country’s two exploratory shale wells and for them to be abandoned. The move was blasted by Cuadrilla Resources CEO Francis Egan, who pointed out that the Bowland shale formation could supply 50 years of current U.K. gas demand. … Germany’s and the EU’s net-zero policies will deepen their dependence on Putin’s goodwill as they increase their exposure to unreliable wind and solar, phase out coal, and – in the case of Germany and Belgium – prematurely close their nuclear power stations. Strategically, that’s a win for Putin.

Another White House Blunder On Ukraine

Jen Psaki, the White House spokesperson, said on Thursday, March 3rd, that the US is providing intelligence to Ukraine to help them target Russian troops and military equipment.  This revelation demonstrates just how dangerous the White House has become, inviting Russian retaliation for something that, if we did it, we should be doing secretly.

There is a difference between supplying weapons to a friendly country and directly helping that country in a war to target the enemy.  That makes you a party to the hostilities.

Americans, of course, almost universally support Ukraine and want it to drive out the Russians who have invaded sovereign Ukraine territory.  And everyone in the US is appalled about Russian forces targeting civilians, and by so-called Russian (and Russian Chechen) death squads who are out to murder Ukraine’s political and military leaders.

From the beginning had Biden made it clear we would support Ukraine militarily in any invasion of its territory, there is a good chance Putin would have backed off.

Biden not only failed to do so, but his weakness in the face of a major challenge opened the door for Putin’s attack.

But now that is water over the proverbial dam.  Biden screwed up, saying all we would do was sanctions. Before the invasion he stepped up arms deliveries to Ukraine, which only told the Russians they had better hurry and invade before the price would be too high and their losses too great.

Even then the Russians have encountered surprising, stiff and gallant resistance from Ukrainian forces. But how long Ukraine can stay in the fight we just don’t know –no one does.

Russian leaders also have been making claims that are increasingly wobbly and unjustified, saying they are clearing Ukraine of Nazis and then saying the biggest Nazi of them all is the United States.  Both Vladimir Putin and his foreign minister Sergey Lavrov know that these claims are nonsense and that even the Russian people, who have profound reason (after 20 million dead) to hate the Nazis, know these claims to be false.

In fact the potential for revolt in Russia is at an all time high.  The full impact of what has befallen Russian troops has yet to reach home, but despite Russians attempts to block social media, internet and news outlets, Russians know their way around censorship mechanisms, and they also know when news is shut down their government and army is misbehaving.

One of the most callous moves by the Russian army is to prevent their dead soldiers coming home in body bags.  So they have sent in mobile crematoria, to turn their dead soldiers into ashes that can be scattered to the winds.  Cremating dead soldiers before they can be returned home to their families is a crime that will not escape Russia’s public.

If Biden wanted to do something useful he could calmly refute the Russian claims.  President Emmanuel Macron has talked to Mr. Putin as recently as today (March 3rd, 2022), and he not only came away empty handed but he told Putin to his face that he should not “lie to himself.”

And Biden could also talk about the behavior of Russian forces, the tragedy for civilians, the scale of both Ukrainian and Russian losses, and how the Russian people are not being told the truth.

But we have a President who is, at best, incapable of rising to the right level.  He is no Churchill, or Reagan, and certainly no Lincoln.  Nor does he have the guts of a Zelenskyy.

China has been urging the Russians to back off and cut a deal with Ukraine.  The Chinese are not humanitarians.  They are afraid that the outcome of Russia’s invasion, even if Russia “wins”, is negative for China because the US will re-militarize and target China.  Moreover, if Europe gets into a general war as a result of a Ukrainian collapse and humanitarian disaster, China will lose its markets and its power too.

America surely wants Ukraine to win, but we should keep our lips zipped on how we are helping Ukraine militarily while telling the Russians it is time to stop the attack.

It is one thing to screw the Russian economy or sanction its leaders.  It is another to speak directly to the Russian people and turn them against Putin.  Instead of the White House foolishly revealing dangerous secrets, it is time to reach out to the Russian people.

Federal Reserve Chief Powell, ‘It’s Possible to Have More than One Reserve Currency in the World’

Surrendering America’s financial dominance in the world.

While everyone screams about Ukraine, the Democrats are blowing up this country.

Fed Chief Powell Says It’s Possible to Have More than One Reserve Currency in the World – Diminishing America’s Financial Dominance

Joe Hoft, March 2, 2022:

Fed Chief Jerome Powell says it’s possible to have more than one reserve currency in the world.  How does this make America great again?

Jerome Powell is planning on raising interest rates this month from the zero percent that Democrats have benefitted from in the White House this century.  Rates have been kept at zero percent for almost all the time that Democrats are in the White House since 2000.

He spoke in front of Congress this morning.  PBS reports:

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell made clear Wednesday that the Fed will begin raising interest rates this month in a high-stakes effort to restrain surging inflation.

Fed Chief Jerome Powell also shared the potential to have more than one reserve currency in the world.  This is a shocking statement coming from the head of the Fed.

The US has benefitted from having the reserve currency of the world. We’ve reported on this for months and how under Biden the US has reached the lowest point in decades.

As the Biden gang continues to spend the dollar continues to get weaker.  Now the US is pushing Russia away from using the US dollar as its reserve currency and this may not be so smart.

As the Biden gang continues to spend the dollar continues to get weaker. Now the US is pushing Russia away from using the US dollar as its reserve currency and this may not be so smart.

In addition, the US has benefitted from having the USD the currency used for oil transactions worldwide.  This ‘petrol dollar’ arrangement may go by the wayside as some fear Russia and the Saudis have already made an arrangement to trade oil outside of the dollar.

Putin Threatens Retribution if America Intervenes in Ukraine Invasion

The world has changed, literally overnight.

Vladimir Putin has ordered a massive invasion of Ukraine, the likes of which the world has not seen since World War II.

There are a number of possible reasons for the attack, and it is likely the way the United States exited Afghanistan emboldened our enemies, including, of course, Vladimir Putin.

Our departure from Afghanistan was an utter disaster that saw the U.S. military withdraw before billions of dollars in weapons could be removed. Large numbers of Americans and those who assisted U.S. forces in Afghanistan were left behind to fend for themselves and an estimated five thousand terrorists were simply permitted to go free while the Taliban was able to seize control of the entire country, turning Afghanistan into a base of operations for ISIS and other radical Islamic terrorist organizations.

The debacle in Afghanistan, coupled with Biden’s insane immigration policies, violate recommendations of the 9/11 Commission and have left America and Americans vulnerable to the threat of terrorism.

This threat to our nation was the predication for my articles, Biden’s Catastrophic Policies: Immigration and Afghanistan and Biden’s Afghanistan Catastrophe Increases Terror Threat in US.

However, since taking office, Biden’s immigration policies have created a human tsunami that has flooded the U.S. with illegal aliens from virtually every continent, except perhaps Antarctica.

On February 24 the Associated Press published an article that began with this paragraph:

Russian troops launched a wide-ranging attack on Ukraine on Thursday, as President Vladimir Putin cast aside international condemnation and sanctions and warned other countries that any attempt to interfere would lead to “consequences you have never seen.”

There are many potential ways Russia could inflict harm on America, including by sending saboteurs to the U.S. in much the same way that Nazi Germany did at the beginning of World War II.

The FBI’s official website posted a detailed accounting of that effort:

Shortly after midnight on the morning of June 13, 1942, four men landed on a beach near Amagansett, Long Island, New York from a German submarine, clad in German uniforms and bringing ashore enough explosives, primers, and incendiaries to support an expected two-year career in the sabotage of American defense-related production. On June 17, 1942, a similar group landed on Ponte Vedra Beach, near Jacksonville, Florida, equipped for a similar career in industrial disruption.

The purpose of the invasions was to strike a major blow for Germany by bringing the violence of war to our home ground through destruction of America’s ability to manufacture vital equipment and supplies and transport them to the battlegrounds of Europe; to strike fear into the American civilian population; and to diminish the resolve of the United States to overcome our enemies.

Concerns about the potential for enemy combatants to gain entry into the U.S. were behind the decision of the FDR administration to move the enforcement of our immigration laws from the Department of Labor to the Department of Justice, not unlike the way enforcement of immigration laws was moved to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in the months following the terror attacks of 9/11.

Nevertheless, the Biden administration has effectively ordered “shields down” in a particularly perilous era and has taken other actions that leave America vulnerable to international terrorists, members of transnational gangs, and now potential enemy combatants and spies.

Having mentioned spies, it is important to consider a Fox News report published on February 23:

The Department of Justice announced Wednesday that it is ending its “China Initiative” program that was aimed at preventing spying by the Chinese Communist Party, and launching a new, “broader approach.”

The China Initiative was started in 2018 under the Trump administration to protect U.S. national security against Chinese spying on U.S. intellectual property and in academia. The DOJ website said it was aimed at “identifying and prosecuting those engaged in trade secret theft, hacking, and economic espionage,” as well as “protecting our critical infrastructure against external threats through foreign direct investment and supply chain compromises.”

That program is coming to an end. In its place, the DOJ is instituting a new “Strategy for Countering Nation-State Threats.”

Meanwhile, Iran, another ally of Russia, pushes on to complete nuclear weapons and has flooded thousands of members of Hezbollah into Latin America to work in close cooperation with human trafficking organizations that also smuggle vast quantities of deadly narcotics into the U.S., according to information provided at Congressional hearings.

It is entirely possible that Iran would be happy to carry out attacks in the U.S. at the behest of their Russian ally.

Consider a couple of my earlier articles published in 2018: Iran Threatens U.S. And Its Allies With “Drugs, Refugees, Bombs And Assassination” and Congressional Hearing: Iranian Sleeper Cells Threaten U.S.

The attack by Russia on Ukraine is as real as the casualties it is inflicting. The threats to America are no less real. The first priority for our leaders must be the protection of America and Americans.

America’s borders and immigration laws are our first and last lines of defense.

These obvious facts were a major theme of the 9/11 Commission report and findings. To this point, one of the reports that the 9/11 Commission staff produced was, “9/11 and Terrorist Travel – Staff Report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States.”

This report focused specifically on the ability of terrorists to travel around the world and ultimately embed themselves in the U.S. as they went about preparations to carry out deadly attacks.

The preface of this report begins with the following paragraph:

It is perhaps obvious to state that terrorists cannot plan and carry out attacks in the United States if they are unable to enter the country. Yet prior to September 11, while there were efforts to enhance border security, no agency of the U.S. government thought of border security as a tool in the counterterrorism arsenal. Indeed, even after 19 hijackers demonstrated the relative ease of obtaining a U.S. visa and gaining admission into the United States, border security still is not considered a cornerstone of national security policy. We believe, for reasons we discuss in the following pages, that it must be made one.

Page 61 contained this passage:

Exploring the Link between Human Smugglers and Terrorists

In July 2001, the CIA warned of a possible link between human smugglers and terrorist groups, including Hamas, Hezbollah, and Egyptian Islamic Jihad.149 Indeed, there is evidence to suggest that since 1999 human smugglers have facilitated the travel of terrorists associated with more than a dozen extremist groups.150 With their global reach and connections to fraudulent document vendors and corrupt government officials, human smugglers clearly have the “credentials” necessary to aid terrorist travel.

This paragraph is found on page 98 under the title “Immigration Benefits”:

Terrorists in the 1990s, as well as the September 11 hijackers, needed to find a way to stay in or embed themselves in the United States if their operational plans were to come to fruition. As already discussed, this could be accomplished legally by marrying an American citizen, achieving temporary worker status, or applying for asylum after entering. In many cases, the act of filing for an immigration benefit sufficed to permit the alien to remain in the country until the petition was adjudicated. Terrorists were free to conduct surveillance, coordinate operations, obtain and receive funding, go to school and learn English, make contacts in the United States, acquire necessary materials, and execute an attack.

The clock is ticking and time is not on our side. It is time for the Biden administration to act immediately and decisively to fulfill its primary responsibilities to protect America and Americans in an extremely dangerous and precarious era.

Russia Bombs Nuclear Power Plant, Threatening Disaster ’10 Times Larger Than Chernobyl’

President Joe Biden took a late-night call from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday to discuss reported fighting between military forces near a nuclear power plant in Ukraine.

Ukraine’s state emergency service said Friday that a fire erupted at a training facility outside a nuclear power plant amid heavy fighting between Russian and Ukrainian forces, Reuters reported. Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba had claimed on Twitter that the Zaporizhzhia plant could cause a disaster “10 times larger than Chernobyl,” though other reports have suggested the threat is less severe.

Ukrainian officials reportedly said the Zaporizhzhia plant had been secured after the fighting broke out.

The White House confirmed Biden discussed the situation in his call with Zelenskyy. The two leaders urged Russia to stop “military activities” near the plant and allow local firefighters to contain the flames.

Fox News reporter Trey Yingst stated the threat of a Chernobyl-style disaster has been overblown, however.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced late Thursday that it was aware of reports of shelling at the plant and is in contact with Ukrainian authorities.

Ukraine officials later told the IAEA that the fire “has not affected ‘essential’ equipment” and that “plant personnel” were “taking mitigatory actions,” according to a tweet.

Ukraine’s nuclear regulator informed IAEA that there is “no change reported in radiation levels at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant site,” the organization tweeted early Friday.

This is a developing story. Check back soon for updates.

GOP Rep. Boebert Calls Out Biden During Speech As He Talked About Soldiers In Coffins: ‘You Put Them In, 13 Of Them’

Finally, someone speaks for the American people.

Boebert Heckles Biden During Speech As He Talked About Soldiers In Coffins: ‘You Put Them In, 13 Of Them’

By Ryan Saavedra •Daily Wire Mar 1, 2022

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) heckled Democrat President Joe Biden during Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday night as Biden talked about the dangers that U.S. soldiers faced serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.

“Our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan faced many dangers,” Biden said. “One was stationed at bases and breathing in toxic smoke from ‘burn pits’ that incinerated wastes of war—medical and hazard material, jet fuel, and more. When they came home, many of the world’s fittest and best trained warriors were never the same. Headaches. Numbness. Dizziness.”

“A cancer that would put them in a flag-draped coffin,” Biden continued. “I know.”

Boebert then interrupted, “You put them in, 13 of them,” in reference to Biden’s disastrous pullout from Afghanistan that resulted in the deaths of 13 U.S. soldiers.

In the speech Biden also called for protections for “maternal health care.”

“The constitutional right affirmed in Roe v. Wade—standing precedent for half a century—is under attack as never before,” he said. “If we want to go forward—not backward—we must protect access to health care. Preserve a woman’s right to choose. And let’s continue to advance maternal health care in America.”

We’re putting in place dedicated immigration judges so families fleeing persecution and violence can have their cases heard faster. We’re securing commitments and supporting partners in South and Central America to host more refugees and secure their own borders.

We can do all this while keeping lit the torch of liberty that has led generations of immigrants to this land—my forefathers and so many of yours. Provide a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, those on temporary status, farm workers, and essential workers.

Revise our laws so businesses have the workers they need and families don’t wait decades to reunite. It’s not only the right thing to do—it’s the economically smart thing to do. That’s why immigration reform is supported by everyone from labor unions to religious leaders to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Let’s get it done once and for all. Advancing liberty and justice also requires protecting the rights of women.

He also used the speech to tout his “American Rescue Plan.”

Look, the American Rescue Plan is helping millions of families on Affordable Care Act plans save $2,400 a year on their health care premiums. Let’s close the coverage gap and make those savings permanent.

Second – cut energy costs for families an average of $500 a year by combatting climate change.

Let’s provide investments and tax credits to weatherize your homes and businesses to be energy efficient and you get a tax credit; double America’s clean energy production in solar, wind, and so much more; lower the price of electric vehicles, saving you another $80 a month because you’ll never have to pay at the gas pump again.

Daily Wire editor emeritus Ben Shapiro offered his own response to Biden’s speech.

“On issue after issue, Joe Biden is not merely wrong, he is aggressively wrong; he is not merely foolish, he is stubbornly foolish. Joe Biden became president with one goal: to enshrine himself in history as a great leader. Today, we can safely say that he is one of the worst leaders in American history,” he said.

Big Problems Documented in Wisconsin 2020 Election

A major new report on election fraud in Wisconsin is a complete rebuke to those who claimed the 2020 election was the fairest and most secure ever.  The report found “numerous questionable and unlawful actions” by multiple actors.  The investigation is from the official Wisconsin Office of the Special Counsel.  The lead investigator is a former state Supreme Court justice who advised the state legislature to “take a hard look” at decertifying the 2020 results that declared Joe Biden the winner.

According to the report, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg broke election bribery laws by funneling nearly $9 million to get-out-the-vote efforts in Democratic strongholds in the 2020 election.  Zuckerberg funded the Center for Tech and Civic Life – CTCL – which gave out grants, supposedly for “safe and secure election administration”, but the money actually illicitly went to increasing turnout in “communities of color” in five heavily Democratic cities.  CTCL also gave the cities money to locate ballot drop boxes in “targeted neighborhoods” in violation of state law.  Election officials in those five cities broke the law by partisan campaigning and also by not treating all voters the same, a “bedrock principle” of election law.  The Democrats had nothing substantive to say in response to these allegations, merely calling the report a “clown show”.  No, here’s the clown show:  Democrats ignoring the evidence and giving every appearance of wanting to steal elections.

The Zuckerberg money worked as intended.  The report also found 95 to 100 percent voter turnout in 91 nursing homes in the five Democrat-controlled cities which received Zuckerberg money.  The Democrats have a long history of committing voter fraud in nursing homes.  I know, I’ve done the research.  There are videotaped depositions in Wisconsin, now, of family members saying their senior loved ones are mentally incompetent and haven’t voted in years, meaning government-hired, so-called ‘navigators’ voted for them.  Want to guess who they voted for?

Another Democrat said the Supreme Court justice was just dishing out “crazy conspiracy theory”, but this Democrat also failed to come to grips with any of the evidence.  Just because you want to stick your head in the sand and ignore the evidence like an ostrich doesn’t mean the evidence is not there.   Joe Biden said earlier this week Republicans are trying to keep black votes from counting at all, which may play to the crazy Democrat base but is crazy on its face.

Name-calling and hollow, empty rhetoric – this is all the Democrats have.  They’re pathetic.

Democrats, you have a choice to make.  Do you want to stand for democracy, like you keep saying you do?  Or do you want to be corrupt gangsters who make war on democracy by stealing elections?  If you can’t get your party to obey election law, I advise you to walk away.

Did you know this about Florida’s Sarasota County School Board?

A friend sent us an email titled “Did you know this about Sarasota Co. School Board?” This email is important because there is a referendum this month that extends the 1mil special tax on all residents of Sarasota County.

It appears, according to The Daily Caller, that the Sarasota County School Board is wasting taxpayers money on “Cultural Sensitivity Training” rather than teach reading, writing and arithmetic.

A NO vote on their referendum appears like a good idea.

BTW, this 1mil tax was only supposed to be for one year, its now into its eighth year. Go figure, one a tax starts is takes on a life of its own. Dammed the taxpayers.

Florida County To Spend $362,000 On ‘Cultural Sensitivity Training’ Despite Canceling Previous Contract Due To Backlash

Sarasota County public school board voted three-to-two on Feb. 15 to reinstate “cultural sensitivity training” to the tune of $362,000 after the program was canceled two years ago, according to Parents Defending Education.

The board of Sarasota County Schools voted to rehire Dr. Sharroky Hollie and the consulting firm Solution Tree, Inc. for $362,446, according to a school board meeting agenda obtained by Parents Defending Education. Kelsey Whealy, a spokeswoman for the district, told the Daily Caller that hiring Hollie was part of the district’s “Strategic Plan Goal 1, Strategy 3,” which vaguely aims to create a “Professional Learning Communities model.”

In September 2020, Sarasota County Schools canceled a $115,000 cultural sensitivity training contract with Hollie, according to Parents Defending Education. Superintendent Brennan Asplen reportedly pulled the contract after the first of seven sessions with Hollie took place, per local news reports.

During a since-deleted YouTube live stream from August 2020, Hollie reportedly encouraged teachers to call out women like Amy Cooper, a woman who lost her job for calling the police on a black man in Central Park.

“Look for the Amy Coopers in Sarasota, and I want you to call them to the carpet,” Hollie said, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. “We will not get to the label of cultural responsiveness that we need to if you are not willing to call out the Amy Coopers. These are the people walking round saying ‘I’m not a racist, I love all people,’ but when the time comes they practice insensitivity.”

These comments sparked backlash from the community and teachers. (RELATED: Minnesota Middle School Advised Students On How To Protest)

Erika Sanzi, Parents Defending Education’s director of outreach, noted that the expensive training comes during a time when school budgets are tight and students nationwide are suffering from “profound” learning loss from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s concerning that less than two years after pulling back on a contract from a DEI consultant, Sarasota County Schools has decided to finalize an agreement that TRIPLES the contract with the same consultant,” Sanzi said. “What exactly is this money being used for? At a time when teachers reach into their own pockets for classroom supplies and students nationwide are experiencing profound learning loss, spending $362,000 on a controversial ‘cultural sensitivity training’ makes absolutely no sense.”

Biden to Divert Agents from U.S. Southern Border, Send Them to ‘Assist’ with Russia-Ukraine Conflict

As if things couldn’t get worse. The country cannot survive three more years of this treason.

Report: Biden to Divert Agents from U.S. Southern Border, Send Them to ‘Assist’ with Russia-Ukraine Conflict

By: John Binder, Breitbart News, 24 Feb 2022

President Joe Biden’s administration is looking to divert United States Border Patrol agents from their mission at the U.S.-Mexico border to send them overseas “to assist” those fleeing from Ukraine amidst Russia’s invasion, a new report states.

Even as illegal immigration continues pouring through the nation’s southern border at record levels, Biden hopes to entice Border Patrol agents to sign up voluntarily to aid American citizens, green card-holders, and their immediate relatives fleeing Ukraine into Eastern Europe.

John Solomon at Just The News, who exclusively obtained the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) memo, detailed the effort dubbed “Operation Support Ukraine:”

“The Office of Field Operations is seeking volunteers to assist with the possible evacuation of U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and their immediate family members from Ukraine.,” the memo sent to field operations executives said. [Emphasis added]

“Eligible employees who volunteer for this situation may be selected to serve a temporary duty assignment in Poland to facilitate travelers for entry into the U.S., to include providing guidance and problems resolution to other government agencies.” [Emphasis added]

[ … ]

The memo said volunteers need to be ready to deploy “within 2-3 days” of selection and should plan for about a month’s work overseas. It also offered a plan for COVID-19 mitigation that said workers need to either have the vaccine or natural immunity from a recent infection. [Emphasis added]

Last month, Border Patrol agents apprehended nearly 154,000 border crossers. Roughly 2.1 million border crossers and illegal aliens are expected to arrive at the southern border this year.

Since October, according to Fox News’s Adam Shaw, about 220,000 border crossers successfully crossed into the U.S. via the southern border, undetected by Border Patrol.

In January, alone, the Biden administration released more than 62,500 border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. interior. Border Patrol agents have blasted Biden’s policies, which they say have made illegal immigration close to unmanageable.

After Wrecking Border and Dismantling Immigration Enforcement, Biden Issues Plea for Amnesty and More Cheap Labor

The following statement was issued by Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), in response to President Biden’s plea for amnesty as part of his State of the Union address:

“Tonight, President Biden spoke of the ‘need to secure the border,’ something we have long championed. Oddly, policies that were actually keeping the border secure were in place when he took office a little over 13 months ago.

“Perhaps President Biden forgot that it was he who ended construction of a border wall that the American public had already paid for. Maybe it slipped his mind that he suspended agreements with Northern Triangle nations that sought to prevent massive flows of migrants from heading north. Perhaps he overlooked his administration’s attempt to end the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) program which deterred asylum fraud by requiring applicants to wait in Mexico for a hearing. We could go on and on.

“The American public has not forgotten. They are witnessing unprecedented flows of illegal immigration. They see control of our border ceded to criminal gangs that smuggle and traffic human beings, and flood our country with lethal narcotics. The American people know who is responsible for the chaos at the border: It is President Biden and his Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

“While offering little in the way of reassurance to an alarmed American public, the president once again called for amnesty for illegal aliens and more cheap labor for business interests. Rewarding illegal immigration and flooding the labor market with low-wage foreign workers is not immigration reform, and the American public will not be fooled.

“President Biden also spoke extensively about the importance and sanctity of national borders. But he was talking about Ukraine’s, not ours. All Americans share his outrage about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. But whether it is a power hungry madman or criminal cartels reaping billions in profits by brazenly smuggling people and lethal narcotics, both inflict lasting damage on the country whose borders are being breached. As the leader of the free world, President Biden has an obligation to ensure that Vladimir Putin’s aggression does not stand. As the president of the United States, he has a sworn duty to end the wholesale breach of our nation’s borders.”

Putin’s wrath shows the danger in cozying up to ‘Christian’ autocrats

Christian morality is a ‘seamless garment’.

For years, not just in the past few weeks, Vladimir Putin has sought to portray Russia as the world’s staunchest guardian of authentic Christian values. Some people have even cast the invasion itself as a war of Orthodox Christianity on decadent, woke Western culture. In his speech to the nation justifying the invasion, Putin declared:

They [the West] sought to destroy our traditional values and force on us their false values that would erode us, our people from within, the attitudes they have been aggressively imposing on their countries, attitudes that are directly leading to degradation and degeneration, because they are contrary to human nature. This is not going to happen.

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia has not criticised the invasion, even though it has already cost hundreds of lives and could turn Kyiv, the birthplace of Russian Orthodoxy, into a smoking wasteland. He merely issued a brief and bland appeal for prayer for peace: “I call on all parties to the conflict to do everything possible to avoid civilian casualties.”.

And, as Russia began bombarding Ukraine, the Patriarch supported Putin’s view that Russia and Ukraine are inseparable: “The Russian and Ukrainian peoples have a common centuries-old history dating back to the Baptism of Russia by the holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir. I believe that this God-given fellowship will help overcome the divisions and contradictions that have arisen that have led to the current conflict.”

It doesn’t have to be this way. Patriarch Kirill’s interpretation of history is not shared by Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine, who stayed loyal to Kirill after an acrimonious schism a few years ago. He, too, believes that Russians and Ukrainians are one in the Orthodox faith, but he still denounced the war. “[It] is a repetition of the sin of Cain, who killed his own brother out of envy. Such a war has no justification either from God or from people.”

Why is the head of the Russian Orthodox Church acquiescing supinely in Putin’s aggression?

Is it because Putin has made himself a champion of Christian sexual mores, a bulwark against Western decadence? He said in a speech in 2013:

“We see many of the Euro-Atlantic countries are actually rejecting their roots, including the Christian values that constitute the basis of Western civilisation. They are denying moral principles and all traditional identities: national, cultural, religious and even sexual. They are implementing policies that equate large families with same-sex partnerships, belief in God with the belief in Satan.”

To be honest, there is much to agree with in Putin’s criticisms of Western culture – although Russian society is hardly a paragon of traditional Christian principles. Russia’s abortion rate is twice that of the United States, for instance.

Russian Orthodoxy has always been tightly bound to the Russian state. It’s a relationship whose roots are in Byzantine Empire and has evolved with the centuries. It’s not for outsiders to criticise it. But Christian moral life is a “seamless garment“, to borrow a New Testament metaphor used by American Catholic bishops. “Thou shalt not commit adultery” is only one of the Ten Commandments, and it comes after “Thou shalt not kill”.

Trampling on the independence of a sovereign nation, waging unprovoked war, destroying cities, and killing civilians – aren’t these un-Christian acts? Waving as a flag one thread of morality and ignoring the others can hardly be described as authentic Christianity.

There’s a lesson in this moral confusion for American politics.

Too many American conservatives appear to feel that Putin’s defiant defence of traditional Christian values takes the edge off his ruthless authoritarianism. From 7,500 kilometres away they are reprising the attitudes of Patriarch Kirill.

Pat Buchanan, one-time Presidential candidate, said in 2018: “when Vladimir Putin and Belarus’ Alexander Lukashenko are standing up for traditional values against Western cultural elites, the East-West struggle has lost its moral clarity”.

Steve Bannon, one-time political advisor to President Trump, in a podcast conversation with Erik Prince, the founder of Blackwater, a private military company which supplies mercenaries around the world:

Bannon: “Putin ain’t woke. He’s anti-woke.”
Prince: “The Russian people still know which bathroom to use.”
Bannon: “How many genders are there in Russia?”
Prince: “Two.”
Bannon: “All of a sudden, that’s not… They don’t have the flags, they don’t have the Pride flags outside of their…”
Prince: “They don’t have boys swimming in girls’ college swim meets.”
Bannon: “How backward. How savage. How mediaeval.”

Which brings us to Donald Trump. He was – and still is – coarse, divisive and untruthful. He thinks that Vladimir Putin is a “genius”.

But he opposed abortion! He opposed LGBTQI+ infiltration of the government bureaucracy! He opposed woke ideology! He spoke out strongly for Christian values!

So millions of American Christians passionately support him – just as Patriarch Kirill supports Putin. Because they’re “Christian”.

This is a huge mistake. Politicians have often used traditional Christian values to distract voters from un-Christian policies. But it just ends up discrediting Christianity. It’s likely, for instance, that the moral credibility of the LGBT lobby will be strengthened by the barbarism of Putin’s invasion. After all, they will say, what can you expect from a homophobe and transphobe?

Christians should beware of Christian autocrats. As the old saying goes, if you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

Ultranationalist appeasers: Le Pen, Mélenchon & Zemmour side with Russia

On the cusp of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, there were disturbing revelations about this issue in the French Presidential election campaign in this our fifth monthly discussion with Nidra Poller, on February 18th There were statements by ultranationalist candidates on both the far left and far right dismissing the looming threat of Russian President to the Western alliance and world order.

President Macron shifted into high gear in diplomatic initiatives having an audience with Putin in Moscow and on the eve of Russia’s invasion Macron made a 105-minute phone call with Putin followed by one with Ukraine’s President Volodomyr Zelensky, who promptly announced that he would meet with Putin. Zelensky made a sudden trip to the Munich Security Conference the same day, chastising Western appeasement of Putin pressing for immediate imposition of sanctions. He remarked:

“Ukraine is longing for peace, Europe is longing for Peace, the world is saying it doesn’t want any war, while Russia claiming she doesn’t want to intervene – someone here is lying.”

Zelensky got his answer that evening. Backed by Russia’s Duma, Putin signed treaties with the unelected leaders of the two breakaway Ukrainian provinces recognizing their “independence.”  Brushing aside last-minute calls for diplomatic initiatives, Putin used the pretext of “false Flag” Ukrainian actions to send in so-called “peacekeepers” followed by tanks, vehicles and more. The reaction was a salvo of world critical of Putin’s demarche followed by a veritable fusillade of economic and financial sanctions directed at key Russian Banks and oligarchs close to Putin announced by US President Biden, the UK, EU, Japan, South Korea. Even China’s Xi-Jinping urged “caution” to his erstwhile geo-political partner. Ukrainian President Zelensky announced a State of Emergency mobilizing his 250,000 troops to oppose the 190,000 Russian forces surrounding his country on three sides. We knew what would come of this Russian action given Putin’s precedents in the 2008 War against The Republic of Georgia, which resulted his seizure of Abkhazia and South Ossetia and in 2014 seizure of the Crimea and sending in troops to support the rebels in the breakaway eastern Donetsk and Luhansk region. French philosopher and activist Bernard-Henri Lévy penned a Tablet op ed, “The Rape of Ukraine.”  His dour forecast: “Taking Putin’s grievances seriously would be nothing more than a death wish for a return to the terrible 20th Century.”

French President Macron’s other diplomatic effort – the decade long fight in Operation Barkhane against Jihad in former French colonies in Africa Sahel has faltered. The cause has been as previously discussed, the fall of Sahel governments to military coups in Chad, the Central African Republic, Mali. That has forced the cutback of French and Swedish-led EU special forces in the Takuba Task Force in Mali and their re-deployment to Burkina Faso and Niger. That vacuum has been filled by the mercenary force of Putin’s little green men of The Wagner Group to provide security of coup perpetrators tying payments to acquisition of important mineral rights in these countries. Meanwhile, the Islamist takeover of the Sahel continues unabated. Moreover, so does the continuing slave trade of Black Africans, estimated at over 800,000, in both North Africa and the Sahel.

Among other topics we address are the trans-Atlantic trucker “freedom convoy protests,”, the issue of anti-Semitism in France and the US, the role of France and Israel contending with the looming Iran nuclear agreement, the critical reaction to Amnesty International ‘s report calling Israel an “apartheid state.”

What follows is our discussion with Nidra Poller.

Jerry Gordon: This is Jerry Gordon, a Senior Editor of The New English Review. I’m here with Nidra Poller. This is our fifth monthly discussion about developments, not only in France but, as it turns out, more dramatically in Eastern Europe. And let’s start with that. Nidra, French President Macron had a 105-minute conversation with Putin followed by an immediate conversation with Ukrainian President Zelensky, during which the result was an appeal by Zelensky to Putin for an immediate ceasefire in Eastern Ukraine followed by the reconvening of the Trilateral Contact Group of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. What is going on now?

Nidra Poller: We seem to be on parallel tracks: If you look at the question from the American side–based on intelligence, not just speculation– Russia is ready to attack at any moment…  Putin has made the decision. From the European perspective, the Europeans, united, with Macron in the lead have managed to stave off the attack and get Russia’s approval to continue on an accelerated diplomatic path. We can only see what happens in the coming days. There’s no way I can judge, by myself, which view is right. It’s like a stage drama: the two possibilities for handling conflict are in front of you, and someone is going to choose. You know that Europeans hate to have war here. It’s not like the United States, where wars are always at a distance. Here, the war is next door, it’s hitting places and people that are in our reach. It’s too close for comfort for everyone in Europe. So, it’s normal, Europeans always favor the diplomatic approach. But war comes when diplomacy fails.

We’ll see in the coming days, what the Russians are asking for. There is going to be a meeting between Lavrov and Le Drian, the French Foreign Minister. And a meeting between Lavrov, Blinken, and Le Drian. We’ll see, in the coming days, if there is any progress on that side. At the same time, we know what’s happening in Donbass, where the Russians are evacuating civilians and there have been 115 attacks in the last few days, in violation of the Minsk Agreement.

Opinion is divided here in France. There’s a sort of national union in support of Macron’s efforts to negotiate and reach a diplomatic solution. Of course, the opposition parties are uncomfortable with the possibility that the president will take advantage of this to help in his re-election campaign. But it’s low-key because, obviously, you want the President to do what’s best for the country and for Europe. If he draws an advantage from it, that’s only fair.

There’s a difference of opinion on the causes of the conflict. And that casts light on our ongoing conversation, because three of the candidates commonly labeled as extreme–Eric Zemmour and Marine Le Pen on the right, and Jean-Luc Mélenchon on the left–are taking a pro-Russian position.

They want France to leave NATO’s joint command. They see NATO as aggressive, and they claim this crisis is caused by Ukraine’s intentions to join NATO. The three ultranationalists are hostile to the United States and favorable to Russia. Marine Le Pen said the European Union has been “brutal” to Russia. None of the three make a distinction between relations with a democratic country and with a tyranny. They think it’s to France’s advantage to be on equally good terms with both Russia and the U.S. It’s quite shocking, frankly. Marine Le Pen says we should pull out of NATO, Zemmour says we should pull out of the Joint Command, and all three ultranationalists say France is weakened by its membership in these collective organizations.

France should somehow be so sovereign and powerful in and of itself and, consequently, would be in a stronger position to negotiate. They consider NATO to be under the control of the United States. Zemmour, only a short while ago, said that NATO was obsolete because it was set up to counter an aggressive Soviet Union. That threat, he said, no longer exists. Now he’s dropped that detail but maintains his anti-NATO stance. Le Pen says that it’s aggressive to threaten Russia with NATO countries on its border. Zemmour compared the current situation to the Cuban Missile Crisis. In other words, NATO– which is a defense system set up to counter Russian aggression, which continues to this day–is equivalent to the Soviet Union in its conflict with the United States during the Cold War. Zemmour paints the United States and NATO aa the bad guys. By its membership in NATO, says Zemmour, France is a handmaiden of NATO and Washington.

I think this might be surprising to some people who are following the French Presidential campaign from a distance and don’t realize this geopolitical aspect.

Jerry Gordon: Well, those are very interesting revelations. When you mentioned the Cuban Missile Crisis, that is something that you and I both lived through. I certainly did, as a young US army intelligence officer on duty, who was going to be shipped out in the case of war over Russia’s missiles in Cuba. and dealing with Khrushchev, the foot banger at the United Nations. I can tell you that it was probably the scariest moment in my adult life at that juncture. So, to see that referred to is really telling misbehavior on the part of Zemmour. The other ironic echo this weekend with the Munich Security Conference, was Zelensky talking about the appeasement of the West. That is a direct send-up on what happened in Munich in 1938 with then French Premier Daladier and Mr. Chamberlain dealing with Herr Hitler.

Nidra Poller: We’re living in a time of off-the-wall comparisons, right? Anti-vaxxers are saying they’re being treated like the Jews in the ’30s and ’40s. And NATO is compared to the Cuban Missile Crisis. Then saying it’s Munich again, because the Europeans have said they’re not going to send in the troops. That’s true. But European NATO forces are in neighboring Eastern European countries. They’re not taking the attitude that Russian ambitions io reconquer the former satellite countries is legitimate. That is not the attitude anywhere. Though it’s true that Zemmour and Marine Le Pen keep talking about Russia’s legitimate concerns. When in fact, to my mind, the legitimate concerns are in Eastern Europe, because it’s obvious there’s an attempt to recreate the Soviet Union.

Some observers have explained that what really concerns Russia is not Ukrainian NATO membership. It’s democracy. After all, democratic movements in Russia are fiercely oppressed. They’re concerned about the achievement of democracy right next door, in Ukraine. On the other hand, I’ve heard members of Zemmour’s party and, even more so, of Marine Le Pen’s party, saying Russia starts with Kyiv; Ukraine is a sort of fabricated state that has no legitimacy. They say that Western Ukraine is Galicia, it’s part of Europe. But the East has always been Russia, it was taken away from Russia. They adopt the Russian narrative. And blame Ukraine. But perhaps we should go on to the state of the French presidential campaign.

Jerry Gordon: That brings up an interesting situation. It appears that Zemmour is challenging his competitors, if you want to call them that, on the right, including the Gaulliste, Pécresse. Certainly, you see Marine Le Pen’s party almost crumbling, with renegades from her ranks joining with Zemmour.

Nidra Poller: It depends. If you zap from one station to the other, you’ll find Zemmour fourth in line, on one, and second on another. The polls are a very weak tool for evaluating candidates, but following the pools gets more and more obsessive. Sometimes you have to cover your eyes and try to think. Here’s what’s important: Zemmour has not had a single important member of the “parliamentary” conservative party– as distinguished from what I will call the “populist nationalist” right. There is a real barrier, but it doesn’t hold up too well today. Generally, the distinction is made between the parliamentary right and the extreme right. That distinction is no longer sharp and clear. But there is a difference, and we have to think about that. It has to do with democracy. Marine Le Pen’s party is not democratic, and Zemmour doesn’t have a party. Furthermore, his attitude is not democratic. Populism actually conflicts with democracy. They call it direct democracy. Between that and the mob … is there a distinction?

There is a dividing line, and it hasn’t been crossed by a single important member of Les Républicains. Zemmour has people from Marine Le Pen’s party, but the Rassemblement National is weakened anyway, because it has had only one possible presidential candidate in the last three elections. Who is it? Marine Le Pen. Why? Because it’s not a democratic party. There’s never been any question of whether another candidate might do better? It’s Marine’s third campaign. She already said it’s the last one and everyone knows she’ll loses, so her party is weakened. People that like her way of functioning and embrace the whole thought system of nationalist populism are going over to Zemmour. Voter intentions could come from anywhere, from Macron, from Les Républicains. But there are no crossovers from the party leadership of Les Républicains to Reconquête. One day the polls say Zemmour passed Pécresse, another day that she passed him; we’ll see now what happens when Macron becomes a candidate. How is Zemmour going to stand up in a debate with Macron? That’s quite different from holding rallies with fans.

Jerry Gordon: Zemmour reached out to none other than former US President Trump this past week, and he sort of got a pat on the back, but he did not get a commitment of any nature…

Nidra Poller: Yes.

Jerry Gordon: From Mr. Trump.

Nidra Poller: That was enough for him. Oh, he was very happy about that. As you know, Marine Le Pen went to Trump Tower the last election.

Jerry Gordon Yes, I remember that.

Nidra Poller: And she was sitting in the cafeteria, and nobody came to talk to her. That was a complete failure. And the person that was supposedly organizing the encounter is a person, I met at the time when, I was on speaking tours in the United States with Geert Wilders, the Dutch politician. I gave talks and sometimes I introduced Wilders. That’s when we met this man who supposedly arranged the encounter between Marine Le Pen and Trump. It didn’t work. Zemmour was very happy with the phone call and didn’t ask for anything or need anything more. If he thinks Trump’s a good example…well… help yourself. In the beginning, I couldn’t believe the “Zemmour is the French Trump” comparison, ” Apparently, he does think he’s the French Trump.

Jerry Gordon: We’ve had a transatlantic jump of protests this past couple of weeks, as it turns out, from Canada to France and Israel. You have truckers in Canada, the United States, France, and Israel, roaring around with their rigs and protesting against vax and mask mandates. That is curious to me, because in the case of France, if anybody has gotten applause for his anti-pandemic COVID campaign, it is Macron. I think there’s a great word in French that I’ve heard recently, “The complainers are always with you in the context of any action on the part of any president in France.” But it is interesting to me that it took less than a nanosecond for this jump to occur transatlantic.

Nidra Poller Yes. But it didn’t go very far.

Jerry Gordon: Not far at all.

Nidra Poller No, it won’t go very far. It’s not a French way. Americans get in their cars to go everywhere, and the French like to walk. So, car protests don’t work here. And the government was extremely severe. If they had allowed these people to block the city and tear up the Champs-Élysées, they would’ve been criticized for that. They came out with tanks and everything possible to stop it, and it worked. They didn’t let them block the city. They were criticized for that, but someone observed that tens of millions of French people are in favor of the measures that were taken to protect us. These tens of thousands of protesters can make a lot of noise, but they count for nothing. People are interested more in the campaign. I’ve been concerned about this populism because I think it’s a great danger to democracy. You hear these people say, “Well, nobody listens to me.” And during the gilets jaunes [yellow vests] demonstrations, they would hold out microphones to these people and ask, “Well, okay, here we are. What do you want to say?” “Macron démission.” The president should resign.

Now, we’re in the presidential campaign. We have so many candidates, it’s overkill. I was thinking about it…how many possible political programs and positions can there be in any country? So, if they can’t find a single candidate that corresponds to what they want, it’s because they don’t have a single collective demand that could possibly be accepted by the rest of the voters. So, when they say, “Nobody listens to me,” or “I don’t find any candidate that suits me,” they’re really saying, “Well, nobody will do exactly what I want, and too bad for everyone else.” That’s one of the problems with populism.

Jerry Gordon: I’d like to turn to a topic that we’ve covered during previous discussions, which is still problematic in France, Europe, and even here in the United States. That’s the rise of anti-Semitism. We’ve talked about the problems with the cases involved with the police in France, with the Halimi murder and others. More importantly, there is an opportunity for Macron who takes over as head of the European Council, to perfect some changes regarding anti-Semitism across the EU. But first, he has to deal with the questions of what to do about anti-Semitism in France, and its sources, including coming from the very significant Muslim minority. What is your view?

Nidra Poller: It’s not a front-and-center issue today. It comes up, because of the fact that Zemmour is Jewish. For Jewish voters in France, it’s not an easy choice. If you line up what matters to you as a Jew, nothing fits with Zemmour, except the one question, which every candidate on the right, including Macron, is dealing with. Each candidate has a different way of defining it, a different way of proposing to deal with it, but they can’t ignore it. The problem of political Islam or what I would call them Jihadists, the problem of violence, criminal and political violence coming not just from Muslim immigrants, because we’re talking about fourth generation French Muslims. All of these problems are being discussed, but not so much in terms of antisemitism.

The Middle East is not an issue in the campaign. And in a way I would say it’s all for the better. Because it used to be an obsession with the “two-state solution.” That’s not an issue in the current campaign. The question of antisemitism comes up, because some accuse Zemmour of being antisemitic, for reasons that I think we have already discussed. His positions on Pétain, Dreyfus, the victims of French Muslim Islamic murder buried in Israel… Even the question of names… you know…he says parents shouldn’t give foreign names to their children…the whole question of assimilation. For us, as Jews, assimilation is not necessarily a good word, right? We’re always held to be good citizens wherever we live. This is one of the basic tenets of Judaism, to be a good citizen wherever you live. But not by assimilating. By remaining Jewish.

When the Jews were pushed to assimilation… you have situations like Germany before the Second World War. It hasn’t gone well, and it isn’t good today. I think Jews that don’t feel a strong Jewish identity don’t think of themselves as assimilated. They think of themselves as secular. Jews that have a Jewish identity do not appreciate being told to assimilate. So, if they’re blinded by Zemmour’s extravagant promises to end the problem of Islamic violence against Jews and against the general population, they might not realize what he means by assimilation. Do you know Zemmour’s position that hijab and the kippah should be banned in public. He says people shouldn’t display their religion, it’s disrespectful. It’s almost like not displaying your nudity. For Jews that are very much attuned to these things, all of this is highly questionable. Other Jews will go along with Zemmour because they’re convinced that, by some magic, he will bring an end in record time to all the problems associated with uncontrolled immigration and Islam in its current jihad mode: crime, drug dealing, antisocial behavior, and virulent violent antisemitism. These problems may not be as visible in the United States I don’t say that Macron is indifferent to antisemitism or that he’ll do nothing to combat it during his presidency of the EU Council, but it’s not a front and center issue today.

Jerry Gordon: What is Macron’s position on this emerging nuclear agreement between the EU three with the US on the sidelines, but present in these negotiations? There have been leaks of the contents of this proposed agreement. We understand that Mr. Macron would like the Iranians to sign on if they can to this proposed agreement, but the agreement itself is coming up against some very strong opposition here in the United States, particularly in the Congress.

Nidra Poller: Thankfully.

Jerry Gordon: Yes.

Nidra Poller:  I can hardly bear to see the terms. I’ll have to deal with it. Le Drian, the Foreign Affairs Minister, said just the other day to Iran that they have to decide now, quickly or if not, there will be severe consequences. The position of France, in my opinion, is no less demanding than the United States, perhaps more demanding. I hate to think what’s going to happen. I try not to believe that they’re going to sign the bad agreement. But I don’t sense any pressure here in France for a bad agreement. Public opinion is more focused on the elections, and now in Ukraine, and less in Iran. The French position is not weak. I think that they’re not far away from what Israel believes about Iran, and what Iran can do. They’re not apologetic about Iran.

Jerry Gordon: Having said that, would France support a so-called plan B on the part of Israel to unilaterally attack Iran’s nuclear facilities?

Nidra Poller: I don’t feel qualified to answer that. I don’t think that they’re giving any indication that would help us to know what they think behind the scenes, but they do not minimize the threat of Iran. It’s not like the old days, with focus on the Israel-Palestine impasse, where everything was Israel’s fault. They’re clear about that. And there’s no way I could tell you how they would react.

Jerry Gordon: Macron’s diplomacy has been pretty active this week, not only with the Ukraine-Russian situation, but something that from our mutual backgrounds is disturbing – that is the “Retreat from the Sahel,” the former French Equatorial Africa colonies – in terms of dealing with the Jihadist growth there. In particular, the leave-taking from Mali is a signature indication that France’s nearly decade-long Operation Barkhane, Macron has not succeeded in pushing back against the Islamist threat in Africa. What is happening there?

Nidra Poller: The French are trying to put the best face possible on that. They say they’re not retreating from the Sahel, they’re leaving Mali “in an orderly fashion,” and the government, the Junta is sort of saying, “Get the hell out of here tomorrow.” We’ll see how that works out. The French are repositioning their troops in other African countries in the Sahel. They’re developing their good relations with Niger, and I think with all the West African countries. They’re not happy to see the Jihad taking over in Mali. So, if the French are trying not look too weak, it’s not just for political advantage here:  it’s because this is a very dangerous situation, and it’s very close to home. The fact is they have not defeated the Jihad in Mali. It’s fair enough to say that nobody has managed to defeat it anywhere. They just tamped it down a bit. And then it pops up somewhere else.

Jerry Gordon: But who should be filling the vacuum but none other than those “little green men” of Putin’s Wagner paramilitary group. In the case of Mali, the Wagner group is receiving $10 million a month to provide “security”, meaning a Praetorian guard for the current usurpers. Very interestingly, because the default condition in those security contracts is Wagner, meaning Russia obtaining mining rights all across the Sahel for gold and uranium, as it turns out.

Nidra Poller: Yes.

Jerry Gordon: We have examples of that in the Central African Republic and elsewhere. In addition, the commodity that has become increasingly important to the West because of their desire to become climate clean, lithium, mining rare earth minerals, in those areas. Then you have the Chinese on both ends of the Sahel with a military base in Djibouti and trying to perfect one in Guinea on the Atlantic coast. That has really begun to upset the West, the US in particular, because it now means the Chinese would have a military presence, so to speak, on the Atlantic. There are other disturbing elements that are going on at the present time, as an interesting aside, particularly in light of all the problems here in the US about critical race theory. There is the question of continuing evidence of Muslim slavery that our friend Charles Jacobs in Boston with his American Anti-Slavery Group has put his finger on this past week, which is stunning. He has estimates of in excess of 800,000 Black slaves in countries like Mauritania, Algeria, Libya, Mali, Niger, and Sudan. As I recall, a decade ago the issue of Arab Muslim slavery of indigenous Black Africans was a predicate for the creation of South Sudan, which has become a failed state. So, the Jacobs revelations is an indication that slavery as an institution in Muslim African world is unfortunately alive and well.

Nidra Poller: Yes, Over the years I’ve been following the wonderful work Jacobs has done. I once interviewed a militant leader, from Darfur, who had taken refuge in the United States. Charles has shown videos of former slaves. It shows us that the unfair obsession with certain injustices, for twisted reasons, has abandoned the people that are most in need of help. For example, this obsession with criticizing Israel obscures the injustices endured by Palestinians in Gaza and in Ramallah, and by Palestinian in exile in other Arab countries. Then Amnesty International comes out with a report about “apartheid” in Israel. Sometimes you ask yourself how they can still be around, how they can still work themselves up over these lies. But they can. We’ve often observed that Black Lives Matter hasn’t been concerned with slavery in African and Arab Muslim countries. And that’s just one of the terrible inhumanities to man. We can’t right the wrongs, because it requires some kind of international value system that doesn’t exist. You have the UN condemning Israel. And not doing anything about those evils. Bravo to Charles Jacobs for what he does.

Jerry Gordon: It’s interesting to me… You just brought it up… This whole obsession with Israel being an apartheid state, which has become a war cry on the part of the progressive Left here in the United States. And, frankly, the most disturbing aspect of it has been the, how should I say it, the adoption of this mantra by the leftist Jewish population in America. To me, that means the failure of a combination of American Jewish leadership and Israeli hasbara, of basically proving that this is a complete fraud. And yet it has become a common ideology now amongst American youth, that Israel, as a powerful state, is a perpetrator, because of that power, of an apartheid society. It is nowhere near, not even close, to what has occurred elsewhere, whether it’s Africa, as we’ve discussed or nowhere close to what it was historically in South Africa itself and yet it has become…

Nidra Poller: The obsession with Israel, in terms of noble values, is a complete reversal of reality. I can’t go into it here, because it’s a deep philosophical question and there are many very good thinkers here in France who address the question. I think that the Israelis have done very well of answering back, in this case, to Amnesty. This kind of anti-Zionism of the youth in America…

Jerry Gordon: Right.

Nidra Poller: It’s an American problem, a very serious American problem. And look at the rise of antisemitism in the United States. It’s a big question that I can’t deal with just in a few words, Americans didn’t understand the nature of the rise of antisemitism in Europe 20 years ago. They allowed it to develop in the States. Those who did have answers didn’t speak out or didn’t have enough speaking power to reverse the movement. And now you have antisemitic incidents, day in and day out. The thinking that‘s needed to deal with this … it’s not there. There’s a terrible absence of thought about something that’s so important. When the young people come out with total misunderstanding of the situation, there are not enough voices coming to them with intelligent arguments. Everything is just tribal. The Right in the United States did not deal with this in an intelligent way. And now they’re stuck in the corner with Trumpism. So, they can’t deal with it. They lost interest in it.

Jerry Gordon: Some people here in the United States would accuse, frankly, one of the divisions of American Judaism, the Reform Movement, of essentially abiding by that change, and I think a lot of that occurred since 2006 when the last leader of the United Reform Judaism Movement, Jaffe, stood up and defended Israel constructing the security wall to reduce the magnitude of the daily attacks. Since then, the leadership has really lost its moorings in the context of perpetuating tikkun olam or repairing the world, dealing with other people’s problems rather than the community itself. And to a degree it’s problematic…

Nidra Poller: These are deep-seated currents, and there’s a lot of interaction. In other words, the Reform Movement leads the Jewish community into certain directions, and the community gives power to the Reform Movement to continue in that direction. We hardly have reform movement in France. Judaism here is almost entirely Orthodox. That creates other problems, different ones. But when I propose to American media…I’m talking about specialized outlets…When I propose something that requires deep thinking and being aware of what’s happening somewhere outside the United States, they don’t want to get involved. They say it’s too complicated.

This isn’t a personal issue. It doesn’t matter if they’re not interested in what I want to write. It’s that deep-thinking on these questions in the outside world doesn’t get through the barrier of the United States. The alternative media that we knew are no longer interested in those questions. They can go on day and night, week in week out about masks and vaccination, claiming freedom means liberty for the unvaccinated, and questioning all scientific information on COVID-19. That’s their obsession now. There’s a real absence of dynamics to counter this antisemitism. It’s important, because there’s a very large Jewish community in the United States, and the United States has military and economic power, and not enough intellectual power.

Jerry Gordon: On that note, I want to thank you for a thoroughgoing conversation today on a wide range of compelling issues, and thoughtful ones that are not reported normally in what we consider either the mainstream press or its echo on social media. And to that I commend you for being an astute observer, cross Atlantic. Thank you very much, Nidra.

Nidra Poller: It’s always a pleasure, Jerry, and I look forward to our next conversation.

Jerry Gordon: Getting close, aren’t we? All the best.

Nidra Poller: Cette fois-ci, c’est moi qui te dis : « au revoir ».

Jerry Gordon: Au revoir.

VIDEO: The Signs of Tyranny We’ve Been Missing

The Pandemic Has Proven Democracy Is an Illusion.

STORY AT-A-GLANCE

  • As Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pulled out all the stops to quash the trucker protest against vaccine mandates, it became clear that democracy has been an illusion
  • For many years, the technocratic elite, with their global authoritarianism goals, have infiltrated governments around the world and pushed for surveillance and national security tools intended to suppress dissent
  • A key part of that dissent-crushing system is the surveillance apparatus that has been erected. While sold as a tool to hunt down dangerous criminals, its primary purpose is to stifle dissent among peaceful, law-abiding citizens. Financial warfare — banning people from using financial services — is another
  • Dissent is also stifled by applying criminal terms to those who disagree with the narrative. Case in point: “Anti-vaxxers” and anyone who disagrees with pandemic measures are now labeled domestic terrorists or domestic extremists. Using terms of criminality allows those in power to justify the use of unconstitutional repression and punishment
  • The U.S. must repeal both the Patriot Act and the new biopreparedness initiative, or else all privacy and freedom will be destroyed

As Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pulled out all the stops to quash the trucker protest against vaccine mandates, without ever having actually listened to their complaints, a truth emerged, clear as day. Democracy has been an illusion. That’s the conclusion drawn by Canadian journalist Matthew Ehret in a February 18, 2022, Strategic Culture article.1

“Who would have thought that Canada would ever be a spark plug for a freedom movement against tyranny?” Ehret asks.

“Countless thousands of patriots have driven across the country to bunker down in Ottawa in peace and high festive spirits which I had to see with my own eyes to believe demanding something so simple and un-tainted by ideology: freedom to work, provide for families and a respect for basic rights as laid out in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms …

Mainstream media and political hacks have been working overtime to paint the Freedom convoy that converged on Ottawa on January 29 as an ‘insurrectionist movement’ full of ‘white supremacists,’ ‘Russian stooges,’ and ‘Nazis’ out to ‘overthrow the government.’

Even the Bank of England’s former governor (and World Economic Forum Trustee) Mark Carney chimed in on February 7 stating that ‘this is sedition’ and that ‘those who are still helping to extend this occupation must be identified and punished to the full force of the law’ …

Faced with an organic civil rights movement of blue-collar truckers, farmers and tens of thousands of supporters who have convened on Canada’s capital to demand a restoration of their basic freedoms, the current Liberal government has failed to show even an ounce of humanity or capacity to negotiate.

This shouldn’t be a surprise for those who have seen the hypocrisy of neo-liberal ‘rules-based’ order ideologues in action over the past few years who are quick to celebrate the ‘liberty’ of citizens of Ukraine, Hong Kong, or Xinjiang when the outcome benefits the geopolitical aims of detached technocrats hungry for global hegemony.

The moment genuine self-organized labor movements arise demanding basic rights be recognized, then the masks come off and the rage of tyrants show their true faces.”

Tyrants Are Showing Their True Colors

As reported by Ehret, the Deep State of Canada is now using the Emergency Measures Act to do precisely what Carney called for, namely identify and punish anyone who dares stand up for freedom.

The Act grants extraordinary powers to the banking industry to search people’s social media accounts and private bank records, and to seize the bank accounts of anyone suspected of supporting the Freedom Convoy, either in spirit or through online donations, including cryptocurrencies.

Victims will have no recourse, as the banks have been given full legal protection from lawsuits by those whose lives they destroy. Business owners in Canada who support freedom can also have their insurance policies canceled, and truckers can lose their drivers’ licenses, either temporarily or permanently.

Still, the protesters did not give up. If anything, the threats appeared to have had the opposite effect. According to Ehret, the protestors were “renewing their commitments to remain in place,” which they did until Trudeau sent in police2 to arrest protestors and tow their trucks.

While Trudeau remained dictatorial until the truckers had been cleared from the Parliament area, the political establishment, on the other hand, showed signs of cracking. Two Liberal Party members, MP Joel Lightbound and MP Yves Robillard broke with party ranks, calling for an end to the unpopular and unnecessary COVID measures.3 Then, finally, in a surprise turnabout, Trudeau buckled February 23, 2022, and said he would revoke the Emergencies Act he’d invoked earlier.4

On a global scale, the silence of leaders of democracies and republics around the world is as informative as Trudeau’s power grab. By now, we would have expected leaders of the U.S., the U.K., France and any number of others, to have stepped up to the microphone to denounce the Canadian government’s actions.

But they haven’t, and that tells you everything you need to know about where they stand on the issues of democracy and freedom. Worse, some have vocalized support for Trudeau’s dictatorial actions.

In a February 10, 2022, tweet, Juliette Kayyem, former assistant secretary of Homeland Security under U.S. President Obama and a frequent CNN commentator, suggested the Canadian regime ought to slash the truckers’ tires, empty their gas tanks, arrest the drivers, move the trucks, cancel their insurance, suspend their drivers’ licenses and prohibit their recertification in the future. In her own words, “I will not run out of ways to make this hurt.”5

The Illusion of Liberal Democracy Has Collapsed

As noted by Ehret, while we don’t yet know how it will end, one thing we can be sure of is that “the illusion of liberal democracy … has collapsed.”6 That doesn’t mean the globalist cabal will pack up their briefcases and retire. No, they’re going to fight to stay in power until the bitter end.

But the hill they’re standing on is getting steeper and slipperier by the day. Everyone can see that they’re saying one thing and doing the complete opposite. You can’t lay claim to being a defender of democracy, freedom and equal rights for all while simultaneously declaring peaceful citizens the enemy of the state. It’s just not credible. As noted by historically left-leaning journalist Glenn Greenwald:7

“When it comes to distant and adversarial countries, we are taught to recognize tyranny through the use of telltale tactics of repression. Dissent from orthodoxies is censored.

Protests against the state are outlawed. Dissenters are harshly punished with no due process. Long prison terms are doled out for political transgressions rather than crimes of violence. Journalists are treated as criminals and spies. Opposition to the policies of political leaders are recast as crimes against the state.

When a government that is adverse to the West engages in such conduct, it is not just easy but obligatory to malign it as despotic. Thus can one find, on a virtually daily basis, articles in the Western press citing the government’s use of those tactics in Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela and whatever other countries the West has an interest in disparaging …

That the use of these repressive tactics render these countries and their populations subject to autocratic regimes is considered undebatable. But when these weapons are wielded by Western governments, the precise opposite framework is imposed: describing them as despotic is no longer obligatory but virtually prohibited.

That tyranny exists only in Western adversaries but never in the West itself is treated as a permanent axiom of international affairs, as if Western democracies are divinely shielded from the temptations of genuine repression.

Indeed, to suggest that a Western democracy has descended to the same level of authoritarian repression as the West’s official enemies is to assert a proposition deemed intrinsically absurd or even vaguely treasonous.

The implicit guarantor of this comforting framework is democracy. Western countries, according to this mythology, can never be as repressive as their enemies because Western governments are at least elected democratically. This assurance, superficially appealing though it may be, completely collapses with the slightest critical scrutiny.”

The Dangers of Majority Despotism

As explained by Greenwald, the premise of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights is that “majoritarian despotism is dangerous in the extreme.” “Despotism” means government in which a single entity rules with absolute power. Usually, this entity is an individual, but despotism can also arise out of majority rule.

It’s interesting to note that while the Founding Fathers probably had no term for what we now know as the psychology of “mass formation,” they were clearly aware of the dangers posed by an irrational majority.

As noted by Greenwald, “the Bill of Rights consists of little more than limitations imposed on the tyrannical measures majorities might seek to democratically enact.”

For example, even if a majority of people agree that certain ideas and views should be criminalized, the Bill of Rights prohibits it. The Bill of Rights also prohibits the abolishment of religious freedom, even if a majority were to support it. Likewise, “life and liberty cannot be deprived without due process even if 9 out of 10 citizens favor doing so.”

The Founding Fathers were clever enough to realize that majority rule can easily become just as destructively despotic as any dictatorship. Hence, they ensured that individual freedoms were enshrined in such a way that even if you’re the last person in the country who wants to practice religion, you have the right to do so. The majority cannot take that away from you.

Waking Up to Reality as It Is

Greenwald goes on to explain how the signs of tyranny in the West have been evident for well over a decade. We just weren’t paying attention. Only now, as we stare tyranny in the face first-hand, are we starting to really see it for what it is:

“The decade-long repression of Julian Assange and WikiLeaks, standing alone, demonstrates how grave neoliberal attacks on dissent have become. Many are aware of key parts of this repression … but have forgotten or, due to media malfeasance, never knew several of the most extreme aspects.

While the Obama DOJ under Attorney General Eric Holder failed to find evidence of criminality after convening a years-long Grand Jury investigation, the then-Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I-CT), succeeded in pressuring financial services companies such as MasterCard, Visa, PayPal and Bank of America to terminate WikiLeaks’ accounts and thus banish them from the financial system, choking off their ability to receive funds from supporters or pay their bills.

Lieberman and his neocon allies also pressured Amazon to remove WikiLeaks from its hosting services, causing the whistleblower group to be temporarily offline.

All of that succeeded in crippling WikiLeaks’ ability to operate despite being charged with no crime: indeed, as the DOJ admitted, it could not prove that the group committed any crimes, yet this extra-legal punishment was nonetheless meted out.

Those tactics pioneered against WikiLeaks — excluding dissenters from the financial system and coercing tech companies to deny them internet access without a whiff of due process — have now become standard weapons. Trudeau’s government seizes and freezes bank accounts with no judicial process.

The ‘charity’ fundraising site GoFundMe first blocked the millions of dollars raised for the truckers and announced it would redirect those funds to other charities, then refunded the donations when people pointed out, rightly, that their original plan amounted to a form of stealing. When an alternative fundraising site, GiveSendGo, raised millions more for the truckers, Canadian courts blocked its distribution.”

Greenwald also highlights how American politicians have pressured Big Tech monopolies and the financial system to act as a joint censorship arm of government. Blocking people and companies from being able to use servers and financial transaction services have been key strategies to silence critical voices.

Why Assange Was Targeted

According to Greenwald, Assange’s capture was precipitated by his denouncement of the Spanish government’s violence against citizens of Catalonia in 2017 and 2019. Catalonia wanted autonomy from the Madrid-based Spanish government, and the government responded with shocking force.

“Spain treated the activists not as domestic protesters exercising their civic rights but as terrorists, seditionists and insurrectionists,” Greenwald writes. “Violence was used to sweep up Catalans in mass arrests, and their leaders were charged with terrorism and sedition and given lengthy prison sentences.”

Assange did not actually express support for Catalonian independence. He objected to the Spanish government’s violent assault on civil liberties. This was why Ecuador rescinded Assange’s asylum and handed him over to British authorities in April 2020. Since then, Assange has been held in a high-security prison in Belmarsh, even though he’s never been convicted of a crime.

“All of this reflects, and stems from, a clear and growing Western intolerance for dissent,” Greenwald writes.8 “This last decade of history is crucial to understand the dissent-eliminating framework that has been constructed and implemented in the West. This framework has culminated, thus far, with the stunning multi-pronged attacks on Canadian truckers by the Trudeau government.

But it has been a long time in the making, and it is inevitable that it will find still-more extreme expressions. It is, after all, based in the central recognition that there is mass, widespread anger and even hatred toward the neoliberal ruling class throughout the West.”

Surveillance Apparatus Was Created to Crush Dissent

In response to the growing anger against the ruling class, the technocratic cabal has “opted for force, a system that crushes all forms of dissent as soon as they emerge in anything resembling an effective, meaningful or potent form,” Greenwald notes.

A key part of that dissent-crushing system is the surveillance apparatus that has been erected all around us.9 While sold as a tool to hunt down dangerous criminals, we’ve come to realize that rarely is the system ever used to go after true criminals. Instead, it’s used to identify people who disagree with a given narrative. Its primary purpose is to stifle dissent among citizens.

As noted by the ACLU,10 while most Americans think the Patriot Act’s surveillance powers are there to facilitate the identification and roundup of terrorists, it “actually turns regular citizens into suspects.” Dissent is also stifled by applying criminal terms to those who disagree with the narrative. Case in point: “Anti-vaxxers” and anyone who disagrees with pandemic measures are now labeled domestic terrorists or domestic extremists. As noted by Greenwald:

“Applying terms of criminality renders justifiable any subsequent acts of repression: we are trained to accept that core liberties are forfeited upon the commission of crimes. What is most notable, though, is that this alleged criminality is not adjudicated through judicial proceedings — with all the accompanying protections of judges, juries, rules of evidence and requirements of due process — but simply by decree …

Few things are more dangerous than a political leader who convinces themselves that they are so benevolent and well-intentioned that anything they do is inherently justified in light of their noble character and their enlightened ends …

Within the logical world where one is convinced that they really are fighting a white nationalist, fascistic, insurrectionary global movement to overthrow liberal democracy, then all the weapons we were long taught to view as despotic suddenly become ennobled [ … ]

And it is through this self-glorifying tale which Western neoliberals are telling themselves that they have become exactly what they shrilly insist they are battling.”

We Must Repeal the Patriot Act and Pandemic Powers

In September 2021, the White House announced a $65 billion biopreparedness initiative as part of the Biden administration’s Build Back Better plan.11 As I’ve explained in many previous articles, Build Back Better is part and parcel of The Great Reset, which in turn is a technocrat-led attempt to implement global authoritarianism. As reported by Biospace:12

“The first goal is to transform medical defense, including an improvement and expansion of vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics against known threats, and lay the groundwork for unknown pathogens … Secondly, the plan calls for ensuring ‘situational awareness’ regarding infectious disease threats. This includes early warning and real-time monitoring of these viral threats.”

In a nutshell, what this biopreparedness initiative entails is more invasive biosurveillance — meaning, the monitoring of your internal biology. Right now, claims that government wants to monitor people down to their body chemistry will earn you the title of paranoid conspiracy theorist, yet the writing is on the wall. That’s where we’re headed, even if we’re not there yet.

I believe the U.S. must repeal both the Patriot Act and the biopreparedness initiative, or else all privacy and freedom will be destroyed.

Covid ‘Stimulus’ Screwed Americans While Boosting The Rich

“We may seriously begin to ask if leftwing America is a massive oligarchy cloaked in identity politics.’

The left hates you.

How Pandemic-Era ‘Stimulus’ Screwed Americans While Boosting The Rich

By: Joe Popularis, The Federalist, February 28, 2022:

US. inflation is nearing levels not seen since the 1970s and early 1980s, at 7.5 percent year-over-year as of January, the largest rise in four decades. The issue is a major concern for voters, and Democrats face historic midterm losses. Inflation has even killed the Biden agenda thus far—Sen. Joe Manchin’s primary reason for nixing “Build Back Better,” a mess of largely corporatist priorities from a disjointed Democratic base, was his fear that it would push up prices further.

The left, however, is making a ridiculous effort to say that inflation is not a problem or even good for working-class Americans. CNN has run articles to this effect. New York Times writer Sarah Jeong says inflation concerns are “driven by rich people … because their parasitic assets aren’t doing as well as they’d like and they’re scared” that government stimulus—supposedly directed at the bottom half of earners—is why.

The idea that somehow government spending benefits the poor or working-class more than the rich is ridiculous. Just look at the stimulus since 2020, and its effects.

Stimulus Directly Caused the Current Inflation

Inflation took off in the second quarter of 2021, after a new Democratic Congress poured a $2 trillion in federal overspending they called “stimulus” on an economy that had already received a combined $2.8 trillion in stimulus in 2020. Republicans can blame Democrats, with some justification, but the seeds of higher inflation were already sown.

History should judge the federal government’s pandemic response harshly. A several-week lockdown may have been acceptable without hindsight, given concerns about mass deaths and an overwhelmed medical system. But as soon as the virus was known to be much less deadly than feared, and that there was no great strain on the medical system, the federal government should have punished states needlessly maintaining activity restrictions.

The original stimulus bill, passed by congressional Republicans and signed by President Trump, was ill-conceived. The payroll protection program (PPP) ended up lining the pockets of business owners with taxpayer dollars far more than protecting payrolls. Large chunks of it were stolen by fraudsters, while many employers then had incentives to not seek or call for a return to normality.

Meanwhile, enhanced unemployment paid unemployed persons $600 extra per week, on top of regular unemployment. This means a job paying roughly less than $60,000 could not compete with the benefits. Even when these benefits were extended in early 2021 at a reduced amount—$300 extra per week—millions avoided the workforce.

Between PPP and extended unemployment, billions were stolen, some by criminal gangs and especially by foreigners. One group of experts alleges that up to half of all U.S. unemployment benefits, $400 billion, was stolen by mostly foreign criminals.

By mid-2021, a huge amount of money was chasing a fixed amount of goods and services—with the services shortage exacerbated by enhanced unemployment and school closures hampering the return to work, and the goods shortage caused by America’s overreliance on production overseas, especially China. Computer chip shortages are of particular concern, affecting everything from electronics to auto production. Here, note the criminality of U.S. policymakers allowing America’s chip supply to be produced in Taiwan.

Inflation Harms the Working Class Most

Because of high inflation, average Americans are seeing a decline in real wages—if your pay is up 4 percent from last year, but inflation is up 7 percent, you just got a 3 percent pay cut. Leftwing economists point out that the lowest earners aren’t experiencing negative real wages when discounting their pay increases by the CPI. There are two major problems with this analysis.

First, large gains for low-wage workers in many service industries makes sense given the labor shortage caused by the federal stimulus. But the effects of the government-caused labor shortage will only dissipate over time.

Next, pay on the bottom end is so low that small dollar increases make the percent increase look large. If hourly pay at McDonalds increases from $15 to $18 per hour, that’s a 20 percent increase and supposedly massively outpaces inflation. Jason Furman is impressed, but you shouldn’t be.

Yet the biggest reason the decline in real wages is also likely hitting low-income Americans is that low-income Americans don’t consume the CPI, an estimated basket of what the average American consumes. Low-income Americans, as a percent of expenditures, spend far more on essentials like energy, rent, and food.

Inflation in an equal weighted basket of these items—call it the working-class CPI—is far outpacing headline CPI, at 11.2 percent as of December versus 7.1 percent on headline CPI. This means the CPI is objectively undercounting shelter inflation. Home prices are up around 20 percent year over year. Private surveys of rent say rent is up by at least double digits, compared to the CPI that says rent is up only 4.2 percent.

It is beyond the scope of this article, but the actual rent inflation along with massive home price increases should feed into the CPI report over time, causing the shelter component of CPI to continue rising. High rent inflation is another reason the working class is being harmed relative to home-owners.

Either way, leftists discounting fast food wage increases by headline CPI to say, “Hey, inflation is actually good” should retire from economic commentary. Indeed, as consumer confidence has crashed to ten-year lows because of inflation, inflation fears increased most among low-income Americans and Americans living on fixed incomes.

The left makes these arguments to justify more stimulus—which happens to flow to the stock market—and easier policy from the Federal Reserve, which also happens to flow to the stock market. They are completely wrong and their policies objectively increase wealth inequality.

The Rich Got Richer

Even as inflation (the loss of your purchasing power) pushed higher, all the excess money flowed to major U.S. corporations and the stock market. On top of this, corporations received direct stimulus aid from the Federal Reserve and Congress, including when the Federal Reserve said it would purchase high-yield corporate debt, which is just one reason the left’s analysis—that inflation helps the poor and harms the rich—is completely wrong.

While the U.S. economy is only 3 percent larger since before lockdowns, stocks—measured by the S&P 500 Index of the 500 largest U.S. companies—are up over 40 percent including dividends since the end of 2019. And rich families don’t just have allocations to equities, they have commodities in their portfolio, which were up massively in 2021 (commodities, especially oil, largely drove the increase in CPI).

According to Niall Ferguson, “The wealthiest 10% of American households now own 89% of all U.S. stocks, according to the Federal Reserve. The top 1% gained more than $6.5 trillion during the pandemic, as the value of their corporate equities and mutual funds soared. Corporate profits are up 17% in the last two years.”

Eighteenth-century economist Richard Cantillon noted this phenomenon: when new money was printed, those closest to the king benefited, while those furthest from the king—the lower classes—felt only the inflation of their prices and the loss of their purchasing power. When government literally redistributes wealth away from the working and middle class to the oligarchy via the loss of purchasing power to those who get the money first, it is called “the Cantillon effect.”

Just think about the composition of the Democrats’ $2 trillion stimulus from early 2021. Three-fourths of the bill went to special interests, while less than one-fourth went to direct checks to Americans. Those direct checks were the least fraud-prone and most effective stimulus measure the federal government implemented between 2020 and 2021. Yet politicians uniformly despised them—many establishment Republicans were against them, while Democrats only saw direct stimulus payments as a way to grease the wheels for the three-fourths of their bill that was a handout to special interests.

Acid Fish Latest Greenpanicking Scare

Acid rain – remember that one? Alar – remember that one?  The earth is cooling – remember that one?  No reason you should.  They were all nonsense.  More recent green scares also turned to be nonsense, or less there than meets the eye – polar bear extinction, sea level rise, and disappearing coral reefs.  These scares keep happening because the climate change-industrial complex and other radical environmental Leftists think it’s perfectly fine to lie to you and scare you to death if it allows them to remake the world in their image and gets them to where they want to go.  They themselves will be the first to tell you they are liars – strategic liars – as I mentioned yesterday.  And you can add explicit admissions by Al Gore and Tim Wirth to the same effect, to the strategic lying I pointed out yesterday.

Now comes the latest adventure in greenpanicking – acid fish.  The greenies are warning acidification of the oceans will decimate fish populations because acidification makes fish less inclined to evade predators. It’s all hogwash. A review of 91 studies found the higher the quality of the study, the lower the effect acidification has on fish.  The most alarming results the greenies trumpet came from low-quality studies with small sample sizes that are completely unreliable. Overall, the review found, “ocean acidification has a negligible direct impact on fish behavior.”  This is exactly what I was telling you yesterday about hundreds of scientists criticizing the climate change crowd for lack of scientific integrity.  Here it is again.

Unscrupulous liars – these are you heroes.  The computer models they use to predict climate change are so bad they can’t even reproduce temperature changes in the 20th century.  So why would you believe anybody who claims their computer model can tell you what the temperature will be a hundred years from now?  You’re a fool if you do.

They also withhold important information from you.  They like to talk about how they’re saving the planet, but they never talk about what their policies would really do, as I mentioned yesterday.  They never talk about the bad stuff.   The regulations Biden wants would “keep 11 million more people in poverty come 2030 than otherwise would be.” And if “the Glasgow climate conference … leads to the adoption of much stronger climate measures, policy makers will raise that total to 80 million additional people in poverty by 2030.”  They WANT you to use less energy.  They WANT you to be poor, and they’ll ride any horse that will get them there. Could it be any clearer?

Speaking of withholding information, New York is doing its best to cover up the true cost of its climate legislation which mandates “Net Zero” emissions by 2050.  The legislation requires public officials to make the total costs and benefits public, but they haven’t done it.  As the U.K. found out recently, the costs are so high, any benefits are completely overwhelmed and green policies are doing real damage, far more than any damage arising from supposed climate change.  But the greenies don’t care.

They go right on telling you to eat bugs and cuddle with your pets to stay warm in the freezing winter and there isn’t enough heat.  Too bad if the elevators stop working in your building and you’re elderly.  Too bad if your electric bill goes up 30 percent like in Europe and you can’t afford other necessities because of green policies.  When are you going to get it through your thick skull the greenies don’t care about people and might actually be trying to hurt them.  The greenies certainly don’t care about YOU.  They only care about their fake religion of climate change.  Like John Kerry just said: Russia started a war and Ukrainians are dying?  So what, as long as it doesn’t stop the fight against climate change.  Talk about a one-track mind.  What a heartless narrow-minded moron.

The wheels are falling off the phony climate change narrative, but the Biden administration is holding on for dear life.  It just held a roundtable on how to fight climate change deniers like me.  Participants discussed their opponents’ arguments for delaying climate action and dreamed up ways to counter them.  Pravda is gearing up to tell you how to think.  According to the delusional fools in the White House, climate denialism only exists because “special interests” have been “sowing doubts” and speaking heresy.

Special interests?  OK, let’s talk about special interests.  Green groups like the Sierra Club, the Natural Resources Defense Council, and the Climate Action Network have received millions of dollars ultimately traced back to Russia to undermine fossil fuels and push green energy.  Ca-ching, ca-ching!  Russia is obviously trying to shut down U.S. energy to promote dependence on Russian oil & gas.

Some heroes you got there. They lie, they cheat, they fear-monger, and they cuddle up with the Russians to stay fed. Their financial patron thinks nothing of invading other countries, and THEY think nothing of tormenting and even killing the rest of us. If you’re a climate change true believer, you’ve got some agonizing reappraisal to do.
