The Democrats’ Coup 3.0

Many people apparently believe this election is like any other, when it is as unprecedented as the response to this year’s flu has been. Those who get all their information from the media, aka “fake news,” will believe what they’re told: Trump is a dictator who lost the election but refuses to accept the loss! After all, the media’s been branding him as an illegitimate president all along, so this fits in with their established narrative.

Loyal, gullible Democrat voters, conditioned to regard Trump as that racist, homophobic, xenophobic “clown” in the White House, must be jubilant at the prospect of finally being rid of him—never imagining that they’ve inadvertently just voted away their future in favor of a Marxist dystopia: austerity, enslavement, and misery for themselves and their children. No one would knowingly sign on to this—unless, of course, they expected to be the rulers.

Trump vs. Biden? No Contest!

Interestingly, I’ve read that Sleepy Joe got more popular votes than any president in our history! Hmmm… that’s quite a head-scratcher. How can arguably the weakest nominee who ever ran for the presidency have managed that trick? Biden has nothing to show for his 47 years in government, unless you count his profiteering in scandalous pay-for-play schemes. In fact, this tsunami of votes for him came right on the heels of the breaking news about his drug-addled son Hunter blithely selling Daddy’s influence to Communist China, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan for millions of dollars earmarked for the Biden family—including 10% for “the big guy.” I’d say Biden was also the most corrupt person ever to run for the presidency, but I think we need to bestow that dubious honor on Trump’s last opponent, Crooked Hillary.

On the other hand, Trump, in addition to his powerful advantage as the incumbent, has also proven himself to be one of our greatest presidents. His track record would take another 6 pages to recount: all the more astounding, as he accomplished this feat with both hands tied behind his back by the Deep State. And unlike most politicians, he actually loves America and the American people; he’s fearless, genuine, compassionate, amazingly hard working, honest, smart, funny, charismatic—and truly an inspiration to millions of Americans who by now love him so much they’ve started chanting “We love you!” at his recent huge rallies.

A Trump Second Term: Justice for Coup Plotters

I’d go so far as to say that many Democrats and their assorted globalist pals don’t actually hate Trump himself. What they hate is being exposed and being thwarted, and Trump has been brilliant at doing both. They’re also fearful. These folks don’t want to wait four more years. They’ve committed treason—they’re in it up to their eyeballs. Recall that in 2016, Hillary was caught screaming at Matt Lauer for putting her on the spot in a presidential candidate forum. Afterwards, in one of her storied meltdowns, she yelled, “If that f—ing bastard wins, we all hang from nooses!” The prospect of the noose is why the Dems and Deep State have been so desperate to get Trump out. Unfortunately, all this time, POTUS has been without an attorney general who would aggressively pursue justice for these felons. And now we may have to pay a high price for the DOJ’s negligence, dereliction of duty, or, more likely, complicity. And yes, I mean Barr. No more benefit of the doubt.

For now push has truly come to shove. The Leftist cabal—including not only the Democrats, but also the international banking cartel, Soros and pals, Big Tech, the Deep State (including those embedded in the DOJ, FBI and CIA), etc., is going for broke. They would have preferred to implement their grand agenda of world domination under a Hillary presidency, since she’s one of them and would have aided, rather than impeded their plans. However, to usher in their vaunted New World Order, I believe they would have used the same Covid Pandemic ruse they inflicted on us this year—they had that playbook established at least as far back as 2011 (see the film “Contagion”).

The Dems’ Multiple Coup Attempts—Third Time Charm?

Recall that the Deep Staters concocted an “insurance policy” to get Trump out of the Oval Office as soon as he got there. That was the Russia Hoax, which dragged on for nearly two years. Then came the even more desperate Ukraine Phone Call Hoax. That one was beyond absurd, but it kept the “Orange Man Bad” narrative alive, which I believe was its intended purpose.

And now we come to the ultimate coup d-état—the classic kind—the overthrowing of the government. Now the Dems and the enormously powerful globalist/Marxist cabal behind them, are trying to overturn the election that Trump clearly won. This time, they’re seeking to oust him not by cooking up more phony scandals, but through massive election fraud. They’re playing hardball. This is nervous time for us. These are very dangerous waters.

Just as the enemies of America war-gamed the pandemic (Event 201) shortly before unleashing it on us, so too did they war-game stealing this election from President Trump. Anyone with half a brain could see Trump was going to win in a landslide, even after the globalist Left pulled the rug out from under Trump’s soaring economy with the draconian lockdowns. He was drawing unprecedented crowds at rally after rally, while Joe either hid in his basement, or emerged briefly and spoke to groups of 30 people compared to Trump’s 30,000. While Trump galvanized the crowds, speaking for an hour and a half or more, Sleepy Joe said as few words as possible, many of them garbled. He did, however, make one honest, revelatory statement: “We have put together, I think, the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics.” This has to be the most damning Freudian slip ever. The truth will out.

War-gaming Overturning the Election

While the Russia Hoax showed some ingenuity, the Plandemic is the evil geniuses’ masterpiece that continues to wreak havoc with our lives. By contrast, their election fraud is blatantly obvious and would be easy to expose and counter, were it not for the media’s collusion. Tens of thousands of ballots mysteriously appearing at 4am, nearly all for Biden, overtaking Trump’s dramatic lead in multiple swing states? C’mon, man! Yet this outrageous plan could conceivably work here, as variants of it have worked abroad. More on that below.

The globalist elites’ war-gaming for this coup was conducted by the Transition Integrity Project (TIP), including strategies for removing Trump if he won the election, and replacing him with Biden. Huh? Why would you war-game a coup d’état against your own President if he’d just won the election? Three guesses. According to Roger Stone, the brains behind this treasonous plan is Norm Eisen—the Dem operative who also orchestrated the Ukraine phone call impeachment of the President.

A Snake in the Grass: Norm Eisen

Worse yet, Eisen is apparently the mastermind behind many of the so-called “color revolutions,” largely funded by Soros, that have successfully effected regime changes in a number of Eastern European and Middle Eastern countries, by toppling legitimate heads of state through nefarious subterfuge. In fact, Eisen is a key author of the blueprint for overthrowing regimes: “The Democracy Playbook: Preventing and Reversing Democratic Backsliding.” How’s that for an Orwellian title? Alarmingly, Eisen and his pals are now bringing their diabolical strategy to our own election and our own President.

It’s actually a pretty simple blueprint. To pull off a regime change, you need control of the media—which the Dems have in America— boatloads of money (think Soros, etc.)—and hired thugs who’ll riot in the streets when you give the signal. You spread rumors that the election was fraudulent and/or you mess with the votes to serve your purpose. You mobilize your shock troops of lowlifes to stage protests, carrying placards calling for the ouster of the leader you want to overthrow. You trigger violence and mayhem. The press blares out your narrative on cue: the people are demanding that so-and-so step down! And presto—you send the legitimate leader packing and install your guy in his place.

America’s Color Revolution

To bring this home: Our own unconscionable media is right now aiding and abetting a similar regime change plot in America. Take a look at this quote from the New York Times, “A sitting president has spent months telling lies about non-existent voter fraud. Now that his re-election bid is in deep trouble — but with the outcome still uncertain — he has unleashed a new torrent of falsehoods, claiming that the other side cheated. He has demanded the Supreme Court intervene to decide the election in his favor.” And this: “In the simplest terms, the president of the United States is attacking American democracy in an effort to remain in office.”

That’s how it’s done. Convince the public that what they see with their own eyes is false, and what the New York Times, CNN, MSNBC and the Washington Post tell them is true. Today, November 7th, Joe Biden declared victory and he and Kamala Harris both gave formal acceptance speeches, though Trump won this election, and the President’s team is busily gathering mountains of evidence of election interference and voter fraud by the Dems. It isn’t over, folks! It’s just phase three of the Color Revolution psy-op. Trump can still emerge as our rightful President—but we clearly can’t take this for granted.

The Times’ reporter quoted above did make one true statement in the same article—we just have to read it in the context of reality rather than that of the Left’s poisonous narrative. “This is a dark and dangerous moment for American democracy.” And for our Republic—if we can keep it.

Trump Campaign Witness Saw Biden-Harris Van Stop at Las Vegas, Nevada Center and Unload and Fill In Boxes of Ballots (VIDEO)

By: Jim Hoft. Gateway Pundit, November 8, 2020:

The Trump campaign team held a presser in Las Vegas on Sunday night.

During the press briefing Trump campaign member Matt Schlapp told the crowd the Trump team has a witness who saw Biden-Harris van unload and repackage ballots.

Matt Schlapp: A second whistleblower, we have not mentioned before, describes leaving on his lunch hour and walking around the counting center. While he was walking he notice a van pulled up at the center marked Biden Harris.

The doors of the van opened. Ballots were clearly visible. Ballots were opened with letter openers. And ballots were filled in an resealed in envelopes. These people who were involved in this activity then decided to create a human shield around what they were doing in the van.

VIDEO: Pennsylvania-based USPS Whistleblower Richard Hopkins Comes Forward — Agrees to Testify

  • USPS Whistleblower Richard Hopkins: “Other employees feel the same way I do, but they do not want to say anything…They contacted me… ‘That was badass.’”
  • Hopkins overheard postmaster rebuke supervisor:
  • “He told the supervisor they had postmarked one of the ballots for the fourth, instead of the third.”
  • Hopkins: “I’m nervous. I am nervous because this is a big deal.”
  • Hopkins: I will testify before Congress about what I heard.
  • James O’Keefe: “He is a courageous soul, and he is going to inspire so many people.”

[ERIE, PA.—Nov. 6, 2020] The U.S. Postal Service whistleblowers assigned to the General Mail Facility here agreed today to come forward to go on the record using his real name.

“He is going to testify about the backdating of ballots in Erie, Pennsylvania, in a battleground state,” said James O’Keefe, the founder and CEO of Project Veritas.

“He’s scared,” O’Keefe said. “He’s afraid he’s going to lose his job.”

The Erie, Pennsylvania-based postal service whistleblower is named: Richard Hopkins, he said.

Hopkins said, “I’m nervous. I am nervous because this is a big deal.”

Some people at his work surmised that he was the one to talk to Project Veritas about the scheme to postmark late ballots with ‘Nov. 3,’ which was Election Day, he said.

“I did not witness them backdating, I witnessed them talking about backdating,” he said.

“Other employees feel the same way I do, but they do not want to say anything,” Hopkins said. “They contacted me, and actually were like: ‘That was badass and what-not. They were kind of glad that I did what I did—because they know things are—some odd stuff.”

O’Keefe said, “He is a courageous soul, and he is going to inspire so many people.”

Already, Hopkins is getting hassled by his union over a previous incident that was resolved months ago,” he said.

U.S. Postal Inspection Service investigators interview Erie-based USPS whistleblower

The investigators from the United States Postal Inspection Service interviewed the whistleblower about what he witnessed and heard, he said.

“I told them what I told you,” the whistleblower said to Project Veritas founder and CEO James O’Keefe in a phone call this morning.

The whistleblower’s story was posted Thursday on the Project Veritas website. It centered around a conversation he overheard Wednesday, the day after the election.

“I was casing my route and I saw the postmaster pull one of our supervisors to the side,” he said. “He was pulling the supervisor, it was, and it was really close to where my case was—so, I was able to hear, listen in and I heard him say to the supervisor that they messed up yesterday.”

The whistleblower said he was curious about what was messed up.

“He told the supervisor they had postmarked one of the ballots for the fourth, instead of the third, because they were supposed to put them for the third,” he said.

DEFEND THE ELECTION: President Trump’s Fight to Protect Every American’s ‘Legal’ Vote [Video]

“If you count the legal votes, I easily win. If you count the illegal votes, they can try to steal the election from us.” – President Donald J. Trump

UPDATE:

TRANSCRIPT:

Donald Trump: (00:02)
Thank you very much. Thank you.

Donald Trump: (00:08)
Good evening. I’d like to provide the American people with an update on our efforts to protect the integrity of our very important 2020 election. If you count the legal votes, I easily win. If you count the illegal votes, they can try to steal the election from us. If you count the votes that came in late, we’re looking to them very strongly, but a lot of votes came in late.

Donald Trump: (00:36)
I’ve already decisively won many critical states, including massive victories in Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, to name just a few. We won these and many other victories despite historic election interference from big media, big money, and big tech. As everybody saw, we won by historic numbers, and the pollsters got it knowingly wrong. They got it knowingly wrong. We had polls that were so ridiculous and everybody knew it at the time.

Donald Trump: (01:06)
There was no blue wave that they predicted. They thought there was going to be a big blue wave. That was false. That was done for suppression reasons. But instead there was a big red wave, and it’s been properly acknowledged actually by the media. They were, I think, very impressed, but that was after the fact. That doesn’t do us any good.

Donald Trump: (01:26)
We kept the Senate despite having twice as many seats to defend as Democrats, and in a really much more competitive states. We did a fantastic job with the Senate. I think we’re very proud of what’s happened there. We had many more seats to defend. They spent almost $200 million on Senate races in South Carolina and Kentucky alone, two races, and hundreds of millions of dollars overall against us.

Donald Trump: (01:57)
At the national level, our opponents major donors were Wall Street bankers and special interests. Our major donors were police officers, farmers, everyday citizens. Yet for the first time ever, we lost zero races in the House. I was talking to Kevin McCarthy today. He said he couldn’t believe it. Zero races, very unusual thing, zero, and actually won many new seats with, I think, many more on the way.

Donald Trump: (02:24)
This was also the year of the Republican woman. More Republican women were elected to Congress than ever before. That’s a great achievement. I won the largest share of non-white voters of any Republican in 60 years, including historic numbers of Latino, African American, Asian American, and Native American voters. The largest ever in our history. We grew our party by 4 million voters. The greatest turnout in Republican Party history.

Donald Trump: (03:00)
Democrats are the party of the big donors. The big media, the big tech, it seems, and Republicans have become the party of the American worker, and that’s what’s happened. And we’re also, I believe the party of inclusion. As everyone now recognizes, media polling was election interference in the truest sense of that word, by powerful special interests.

Donald Trump: (03:25)
These really phony polls, I have to call them phony polls, fake polls, were designed to keep our voters at home, create the illusion of momentum for Mr. Biden and diminish Republican’s ability to raise funds. They were what’s called suppression polls, everyone knows that now, and it’s never been used to the extent that it’s been used on this last election.

Donald Trump: (03:51)
To highlight just a few examples, the day before election, Quinnipiac, which was wrong on every occasion that I know of, had Joe Biden up by five points in Florida, and they were off by 8.4 points and I won Florida easily, easily. So they had me losing Florida by a lot and I ended up winning Florida by a lot. Other than that, they were very accurate.

Donald Trump: (04:22)
They had him up four points in Ohio and they were off by 12.2 points, and I also won Ohio, great state of Ohio very easily. And the Washington Post said, “Biden up 17 points in Wisconsin,” and it was basically even. They were off by about 17 points, and they knew that, they’re not stupid people. They knew that. Suppression.

Donald Trump: (04:49)
There are now only a few states yet to be decided in the presidential race. The voting apparatus of those states are run in all cases by Democrats. We were winning in all the key locations by a lot, actually, and then our numbers started miraculously getting whittled away in secret and they wouldn’t allow legally permissible observers.

Donald Trump: (05:15)
We went to court in a couple of instances and we were able to get the observers put in. And when the observers got there, they wanted them 60, 70 feet away, 80 feet, 100 feet away or outside the building to observe people inside the building. And we won a case, a big case, and we have others happening.

Donald Trump: (05:33)
There are lots of litigation, even beyond our litigation. There’s a tremendous amount of litigation generally because of how unfair this process was, and I predicted that. I’ve been talking about mail-in voting for a long time. It’s really destroyed our system. It’s a corrupt system and it makes people corrupt, even if they aren’t by nature, but they become corrupt. It’s too easy. They want to find out how many votes they need, and then they seem to be able to find them. They wait and wait, and then they find them, and you see that on Election Night.

Donald Trump: (06:09)
We were ahead in vote in North Carolina by a lot, a tremendous number of votes, and we’re still ahead by a lot, but not as many because they’re finding ballots all of a sudden. “Oh, we have some mail-in ballots.” It’s amazing how those mail-in ballots are so one-sided too. I know that it’s supposed to be to the advantage of the Democrats, but in all cases they’re so one-sided.

Donald Trump: (06:34)
We were up by nearly 700,000 votes in Pennsylvania. I won Pennsylvania by a lot. And that gets whittled down to, I think they said now we’re up by 90,000 votes and they’ll keep coming and coming and coming. They find them all over and they don’t want us to have any observers. Although we won a court case, the judge said, “You have to have observers.” Likewise in Georgia … And they’re appealing, actually they’re appealing. We want a case that we want people to watch and we want to observers and they’re actually appealing, which is sort of interesting. I wonder why they’d appeal? All we want to do is have people watch as they do the vote tabulations.

Donald Trump: (07:16)
Likewise in Georgia, I won by a lot, a lot, with a lead of over getting close to 300,000 votes on Election Night in Georgia. And by the way, got whittled down and now it’s getting to be to a point where I’ll go from winning by a lot to perhaps being even down a little bit.

Donald Trump: (07:37)
In Georgia, a pipe burst in a far away location, totally unrelated to the location of what was happening and they stopped counting for four hours. And a lot of things happened. The election apparatus in Georgia is run by Democrats. We also had margins of 300,000 in Michigan. We were way up in Michigan, won the state. And in Wisconsin, we did likewise fantastically well, and that got whittled down. In every case, they got whittled down.

Donald Trump: (08:12)
Today, we’re on track to win Arizona. We only need to carry, I guess, 55% of the remaining vote, 55% margins, and that’s a margin that we’ve significantly exceeded. So we’ll see what happens with that, but we’re on track to do okay in Arizona. Our goal is to defend the integrity of the election. We’ll not allow the corruption to steal such an important election, or any election for that manner. And we can’t allow silence, anybody to silence our voters and manufacture results.

Donald Trump: (08:46)
I’ve never had, I’ve been doing a lot of public things for a long time, I’ve never had anything that’s been as inspirational by people calling, talking, sending things to us. I’ve never seen such love and such affection and such spirit as I’ve seen for this. People know what’s happening and they see what’s happening and just before their eyes, and there are many instances which will be reported very shortly.

Donald Trump: (09:16)
There’s tremendous litigation going on, and this is a case where they’re trying to steal an election. They’re trying to rig an election and we can’t let that happen. Detroit and Philadelphia, known as two of the most corrupt political places anywhere in our country easily, cannot be responsible for engineering the outcome of a presidential race, a very important presidential race.

Donald Trump: (09:39)
In Pennsylvania, Democrats have gone to the State Supreme Court to try and ban our election observers and very strongly. Now we won the case, but they’re going forward. They don’t want anybody in there. They don’t want anybody watching them as they count the ballots, and I can’t imagine why. There’s absolutely no legitimate reason why they would not want to have people watching this process, because if it’s straight, they should be proud of it. Instead, they’re trying obviously to commit fraud. There’s no question about that.

Donald Trump: (10:20)
In Philadelphia, observers have been kept far away, very far away. So far that people are using binoculars to try and see, and there’s been tremendous problems caused. They put a paper on all of the windows so you can’t see in, and the people that are banned are very unhappy and become somewhat violent.

Donald Trump: (10:41)
The Eleventh Circuit ruled that in Georgia, the votes have been in by Election Day, that they should be in by Election Day, and they weren’t. Votes are coming in after Election Day. And they had a ruling already that you have to have the votes in by Election Day. To the best of my knowledge, votes should be in by Election Day, and they didn’t do that. Democrat officials never believed they could win this election honestly, I really believe that. That’s why they did the mail-in ballots, where there’s tremendous corruption and fraud going on.

Donald Trump: (11:15)
That’s why they mailed out tens of millions of unsolicited ballots without any verification measures whatsoever, and I’ve told everybody that these things would happen because I’ve seen it happen. I watched a lot of different elections before they decided to go with this big, massive election with tens of millions of ballots going out to everybody. In many cases, totally unsolicited.

Donald Trump: (11:43)
This was unprecedented in American history. This was by design. Despite years of claiming to care about the election security, they refuse to include any requirement to verify signatures, identities, or even determined whether they’re eligible or ineligible to vote. People are walking in there, they have no idea. They just take in the numbers. They’re writing down things, the workers, and doing a lot of bad things. And we have a lot of information coming and litigation that you’ll see that will shake even you people up, and you’ve seen it all.

Donald Trump: (12:16)
The officials overseeing the counting in Pennsylvania and other key states are all part of a corrupt Democrat machine that you’ve written about. And for a long time, you’ve been writing about the corrupt Democrat machine. I went to school there and I know a lot about it. It hasn’t changed since a long time ago and hasn’t changed. It has gotten worse.

Donald Trump: (12:36)
In Pennsylvania, partisan Democrats have allowed ballots in the state to be received three days after the election, and we think much more than that, and they’re counting those without even postmarks or any identification whatsoever. So you don’t have postmarks, you don’t have identification.

Donald Trump: (12:56)
There have been a number of disturbing irregularities across the nation. Our campaign has been denied access to observe any counting in Detroit. Detroit is another place, and I wouldn’t say has the best reputation for election integrity. Poll workers in Michigan were duplicating ballots. But when our observers attempted to challenge the activity, those poll workers jumped in front of the volunteers to block their views so that they couldn’t see what they were doing and it became a little bit dangerous.

Donald Trump: (13:32)
One major hub for counting ballots in Detroit covered up the windows again with large pieces of cardboard, and so they wanted to protect and block the counting area. They didn’t want anybody seeing the counting, even though these were observers who were legal observers that were supposed to be there.

Donald Trump: (13:49)
In Detroit, there were hours of unexplained delay in delivering many of the votes for counting. The final batch did not arrive until 4:00 in the morning. And even though the polls closed at 8:00 o’clock, so they brought it in and the batches came in and nobody knew where they came from.

Donald Trump: (14:06)
We’ve also been denied access to observe in critical places in Georgia. In multiple swing states, counting was halted for hours and hours on Election Night. With results withheld from major Democrat run locations only to appear later, and they certainly appeared and they all had the name Biden on them, or just about all. I think almost all. They all had the name Biden on them, which is a little strange.

Donald Trump: (14:34)
I challenge Joe and every Democrat to clarify that they only want legal votes because they talk about votes and I think they should use the word legal, legal votes. We want every legal vote counted, and I want every legal vote counted. We want openness and transparency, no secret count rooms, no mystery ballots, no illegal votes being cast after Election Day. You have Election Day and the laws are very strong on that. You have an Election Day and they don’t want votes cast after Election Day and they want the process to be an honest one. It’s so important.

Donald Trump: (15:09)
We want an honest election and we want an honest count and we want honest people working back there because it’s a very important job. So that’s the way this country is going to win. That’s the way the United States will win, and we think we will win the election very easily. We think there’s going to be a lot of litigation because we have so much evidence, so much proof, and it’s going to end up perhaps at the highest court in the land, we’ll see. But we think there’ll be a lot of litigation because we can’t have an election stolen by like this.

Donald Trump: (15:43)
And I tell you, He trum Small elections were a disaster. Small, very easy to handle elections were disastrous. This is a large scale version, and it’s getting worse and worse every day. We’re hearing stories that are horror stories, absolute horror stories, and we can’t let that happen to the United States of America.

Donald Trump: (16:11)
It’s not a question of who wins, Republican, Democrat, Joe, myself. We can’t let that happen to our country. We can’t be disgraced by having something like this happen. So it will be hopefully cleared up. Maybe soon, I hope soon, but it’ll probably go through a process, a legal process. And as you know, I’ve claimed certain states and he’s claiming states and we can both claim the States, but ultimately I have a feeling judges are going to have to rule. But there’s been a lot of shenanigans and we can’t stand for that in our country. Thank you very much.

Hey pollsters, maybe it’s time for a career change

‘The polling industry is a wreck, and should be blown up,’ says one pundit.

It’s everyone’s nightmare scenario: an electoral stalemate; two men all but claiming the presidency; and a likely legal battle that may extend into December.

So much is yet uncertain as the final ballots are counted, and as some jurisdictions prepare to pause counting while the courts have their say. Through the frustrating murkiness, however, there are already a number of major headline stories to take out of the 2020 US election. One of the biggest is surely the abject failure of the polling industry. Again.

“The polling industry is a wreck, and should be blown up,” writes Politico.

“To all the pollsters out there: you have no idea what you’re doing,” declared Republican Senator Lindsay Graham.

Graham fended off South Carolina challenger Jamie Harrison, who in some polls edged in front of Graham and spent US$109m on the race that polls told him he could win. Instead, Harrison ended up losing by 11 points.

Graham wasn’t the only Republican Senator to enjoy an unforeseen landslide. There wasn’t a single major poll that tipped Susan Collins to win a Senate seat in Maine. Her Democrat challenger Sarah Gideon raised $70m for the upset, but lost the race by 9 points.

By most measures, the Democrats were heavy favourites to flip the Senate. Instead, Republicans are now better placed to lead the Senate than before Tuesday’s race.

The Democrat party was likewise expected to pick up anywhere from five to 15 seats in the House. In fact, the Republicans outperformed them there too, stealing a handful of seats to put themselves in an extremely powerful minority, regardless of the eventual White House result.

The award-winning FiveThirtyEight is regarded by many as the best authority on American political contests because of its polling aggregation methods. Going into Tuesday, FiveThirtyEight gave the Democrats a 72 percent chance of sweeping both houses of Congress and the presidency in a great “blue wave”. They tipped Joe Biden as the 90 percent favourite. How could they get it so wrong?

The site was just as dismal on state races. They gave Trump only the narrowest of leads in both Texas and Ohio, states that Trump won by a convincing 6 and 8 percentage points respectively. Biden was the clear favourite in Florida, but lost the perennial swing state by 3.5 points. Wisconsin—which now faces a recount after a razor-thin count—was supposed to be a thumping Biden win: 95 percent likely, according to FiveThirtyEight. A full 17 points according to the Washington Post.

I have a confession to make. In the weeks leading up to the election, there were only two polling outlets that I paid any attention to: Rasmussen and Trafalgar. I had a straightforward reason for this. While most pollsters missed Trump’s 2016 victory, they were impressively close in their predictions.

The reason for this is that they were aware of the “shy Trump voter” phenomenon, and had devised methods to account for this. Trafalgar accurately foresaw a 2016 Trump win in the swing states of Pennsylvania, Florida and Michigan. Rasmussen came to within one point of predicting the popular vote, performing better than any other outlet according to RealClearPolitics.

And sure enough, both predicted a neck-and-neck race this year. Rasmussen correctly picked up on a growing Black and Latino vote for Trump, and Presidential approval ratings in the high 40s and low 50s during the final weeks of the campaign. Trafalgar tipped Trump to win the White House with an electoral college total in the high 270s to low 280s.

Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight fame dismissed both polling outlets as “crazy”—though he’s probably eating his words now.

As early as 2015, The New York Times drew attention to what they called a “crisis” in the polling industry. They cited several reasons; among them the growth of cellphones, a decline in the willingness of people to answer surveys, and the difficulty of identifying likely voters as opposed to registered voters.

As recently highlighted by Michael Cook, when The New York Times wildly missed the Trump victory in 2016, they searched their hearts and promised to “report America and the world honestly, without fear or favor, striving always to understand and reflect all political perspectives and life experiences in the stories that we bring to you.” Of course, that didn’t last too long: all 15 of their opinion columnists decried Trump in unison over the weekend.

While the Times was doubtless correct about the social challenges facing pollsters, they missed the bigger picture. Just like the polling outlets, they were blinkered—only able to see what they wanted to see, and dismissing all else. Cognitive bias is a powerful phenomenon, and we’re all subject to it.

For four years, the liberal coastal elites—whether in statistics or journalism—have told themselves the same, tired “Orange Man Bad” story, unable to fathom that other Americans felt differently and had long ago tuned out.

As long as they are living in their own world, they will miss what half the country really thinks. And that’s to everyone’s detriment.

Biden Has Singlehandedly Destroyed our Free and Fair Election System

“I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this — who will count the votes, and how.” – Joseph Stalin, from The Memoirs of Stalin’s Former Secretary by Boris Bazhanov, published in 2002.

“There is no compromise when it comes to corruption. You have to fight it.” – A.K. Antony

Joe Biden we have put together “the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization” in the history of American politics.

As I woke up on November 4th, 2020 and began reading about how votes were magically appearing and magically disappearing in Democrat controlled cities and states across America! I was shocked. I had never seen something this wide spread and organized in my lifetime.

From Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconson to Georgia, Arizona and Nevada. Ballots were showing up after the polls closed by the tens of thousands.

As I watched news network after news network call a state for one presidential candidate over another presidential candidate before all the votes were counted I was bewildered.

The term “fake news” took on a new meaning. An ominous meaning.

When I went to Google, Twitter and Facebook to learn about what was happening with ballots and voter fraud I saw these posts completely disappear from Facebook and Twitter and shadow banned by Google. In many cases Twitter would post on a tweet about voter fraud this:

“Some or all of the content shared in this Tweet is disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process.”

Or this:

This Tweet is from a suspended account.

As I saw the vote counts stop and then suddenly start again followed by the counting of hundreds of thousands votes for one candidate for president to the exclusion of all the other candidates,  I thought to my self – will 2020 go down in American history as the first un-free and un-fair election?

Voter fraud has now become the primary  “weapon of choice” of one political party.

Since the 2016 Presidential election the Democrats have taken the following public positions on voting in America:

  1. End the Electoral College.
  2. Implement a national popular vote system.
  3. Implement a national vote-by-mail system.
  4. Control the voting process by any and all means necessary.
  5. Control how the votes are counted.
  6. Create phony ballots to offset legal ballots as we are learning in 2020.
  7. Refuse to purge voter rolls of the dead, non-citizens and those who no longer live in the state. For example, a lawsuit filed by the Public Interest Legal Foundation found that in Detroit, Michigan there are: 4,788 duplicate registrations, 32,519 more registered voters than eligible voters, 2,503 dead people registered and one voter born in 1823.
  8. Reject any form of voter ID laws, labeling them as voter suppression, thus allowing multiple cases of fraud.
  9. Over look voters who vote more than one time, i.e. those who are residents of two states and vote in each state illegally.
  10. Give voter IDs to anyone and everyone.
  11. Target Republican voters and cancel out their ballots.
  12. Emphatically say there is no such thing as voter fraud! While at the same time conducting voter fraud by all means available.

The final outcome of these Democrat Party policy positions is to enforce a popular voting system and then control that system at the ballot box.

The idea of one man/woman one vote is passé. The ideal of a free and fair election is a thing of the past. The process of counting all the votes on election day is dead, thanks to the United States Supreme Court.

The only thing important today, as Stalin said, is “who will count the votes, and how.”

Is 2020 the death of our Constitutional Republic?

Is it the final nail in our free and fair elections’ coffin? Are we entering a socialist state where the ballot box is totally controlled the state, and how the people vote be damned.

The sentiment “The people who cast the votes decide nothing; the people who count the votes decide everything” that originated with Stalin has now been perfected by Joe Biden as the leader of the Democrat Party in 2020.

Evidence of Massive Election Tampering

UPDATE: Wisconsin

Comparing the latest number of registered Wisconsin voters (3,684,726) to the number of votes cast in Wisconsin (3,297,137) would mean that 89.5% (3,297,137 / 3,684,726) of Wisconsin voters voted.

How often has 90%± of any state’s voters ever voted on anything?

As a point of reference, here are the voter turnout rates for the 2016 national election — very hotly contested. The highest of any state was 74%. A 90% voter turnout for an entire state would be a phenomenal record.

2016 United States Presidential election in Wisconsin
November 8, 2016
Turnout 67.34%

Something very bad is happening.

PODCAST: It’s Show Time 2020!

Put the signs, the flags, and the hate away, it is finally time to make a decision; it is election day. Many of you have already voted by absentee ballot and early-voting, which is to be commended, but understand this, the lion’s share of votes will come today. Out of a population of 331 million citizens, less than half will vote in the 2020 election. Estimates show a record high 150 million citizens will vote. As I recently reported, the candidates will end up spending another record of $11 Billion in campaigning, thereby assuring the media continues to grow unabated. At this rate, the candidates are spending approximately $73 on each voter.

If you do not know who or what you are voting for, please do us all a favor and stay home. It means you have buried your head in the sand and do not know what is truly going on. Actually, there is no real excuse for not voting as it is your civic duty to do so. It is the least we can do to help this country work properly. Recently, I have heard Millennials complain their vote doesn’t matter and, as such, they will not vote. Interestingly, I hear members of Generation Z (the group following the Millennials) say just the opposite; this is the group who will be voting for the first time today.

One thing I find abhorrent is voter fraud.

I have no patience for this. To those who claim, “All is fair in love and war,” get out, there is no place for such shenanigans. Consequently, it is also our duty as law-abiding citizens to report anything suspicious to the board of elections. In other words, when you vote, be on your toes and make sure your vote is properly counted.

Let me be perfectly clear on something, it is not up to me or someone else to tell you how to vote. It is up to your individual conscious; your intelligence, your morality, your sense of right and wrong. In other words, voting is not a game, it ultimately is an expression of your values. I know how I would like you to vote, but you must come to this conclusion on your own, and as I said, if you do not know what you are doing or are uncomfortable in answering such important questions, don’t vote. It is too important to take frivolously.

For those of you concerned about the Electoral College superseding the popular vote, understand this, the college was created to assure the interests of rural America are equally considered on the same level as urban America. If it wasn’t for the Electoral College, candidates would only pander to the interests of major cities and ignore everyone else. That is not an opinion, it is a fact. The Electoral College is one of the most brilliant inventions by our founding fathers.

Finally, to the winners and losers, be magnanimous in victory and cordial in defeat. Let’s compare this to another time. In the U.S. Senate race of 1855, Abraham Lincoln lost in Illinois to Lyman Trumbull. It was a tough race and even though Lincoln lost he was determined not to express any hard feelings over the matter. Instead, he surprised people by showing up at Trumbull’s victory party and offered him a smile and a warm handshake. Such magnanimity did not go unnoticed, nor was it forgotten. Trumbull and his confidants helped Lincoln in his bid for the Senate in 1858 and later on in his run for the presidency in 1860. The point is, instead of losing friends over a defeat, Lincoln actually made friends of his opponents.

I doubt Lincoln’s act of magnanimity would play in Peoria today. Instead we are more inclined to be more visceral in acknowledging defeat. This could be due to the adverse effects of today’s technology and our lagging socialization skills, or because of our incompatible ideologies. Nonetheless, imagine the effect if the losers of the elections would do as Lincoln and offer a sincere handshake of congratulations, in person. A simple act like a handshake could go a long way to repairing the divide in our country.

Some might argue Lincoln lived in a simpler time which was much less contentious than today. Really? I wonder if anyone remembers the viciousness of the Missouri Compromise and the other acts leading to the American Civil War, perhaps the darkest chapter of our history.

In his famous speech of 1858, Lincoln warned, “A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved – I do not expect the house to fall – but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing or all the other.”

Lincoln’s speech is as prophetic today as it was then. Interestingly, he seemed to understand the issue of the day posed a significant threat to the Constitution, which is also on the minds of a lot of people today. Even though his talk was well remembered, it wasn’t considered politically correct and may have cost him the Senate race (losing to Stephen Douglas). So, are we really any different than yesteryear? Hardly. If anything, we are chillingly similar.

Best of luck on election day. Vote with a clear head and a warm heart.

Oh, by the way, tomorrow you can start picking up all of those ghastly political signs around your neighborhood.

Keep the Faith!

VIDEO: Election Day Sermon for 2020 — ‘Church in America, Wake Up!’

Watch an Election Day Sermon for 2020:

Tomorrow Americans are granted the privilege to choose a leader who will either steer us toward our founding principles, or one who will clearly continue to push our Nation away from our founding principles. John Winthrop was a Puritan who led a massive movement of immigrants from England to America. Winthrop wrote to the new immigrants settling in Massachusetts his vision of this new land; “this new land is established for the will and purposes of God; it will be a unique civilization, one in which all the nations of the world would look. For we must consider that we shall be as a city upon a hill. The eyes of all people are upon us.” The image Winthrop speaks is from Matthew 5:14. It implies that America is to be lifted up among all other nations and was (is) to be exemplary, a model other countries would seek to emulate, a nation called to extend its’ light to the world. Ponder this…America was so blessed by God to be the head of ALL nations, the very heart of the present world order. America was ordained to be a guiding light , to stand on behalf of all other nations. What happens to America touches all nations. Our Forefathers made a covenant with God to accomplish this, and seek God’s blessings and provisions for our land. My quick reading booklet “Our Forefathers Truly Appealed to Heaven” Amazon Kindle will take you behind the curtain so you may appreciate the covenant made by our founders with God, and what happens when a covenant with God is broken and deliberately cast aside.

America has turned away from God, and has not only violated the covenant made, but has done thus with growing intensity toward rebellion even denying God! Inasmuch as our country followed the ways of God and kept the covenant to submit (cooperate) with the Lord, America was blessed among all nations, more so than any other nation. But the near removal of God from our Land has brought calamity and a series of discipline with the intent to humble this country and have it return to its’ foundation. When a people or nation turns away from God and the very foundations from which it was established, rapidly you will experience a change of values, the removing of standards, laws, customs, heritage. Furthermore that which was considered right and just will be abolished, and labeled evil, and that which had long been opposed as evil will be touted as good; what was once viewed as immoral will be celebrated, and what once was viewed and taught as wrong and evil will be raised up and championed. Same will be true for those who oppose God, they will be viewed as learned and to be emulated, while those who uphold God’s ways will be persecuted.

As I have previously written the pastors of early America were clear advocates of not only the Gospel of Christ, but defenders of the heritage and foundational principles of America. From their pulpits these pastors did not mince words about either topic. The pastors of early America even to the mid-1960’s, spoke clearly, eloquently, with strong conviction about standing up for America, her heritage and founding principles, and God who gave us this exceptional nation. Below is an “Election Day Sermon” from a pastor who would have fit right perfect with the early pastors of America. Listen and watch as Pastor Gary Hamrick in Leesburg, Virginia speaks truth!

On Friday, I listened to a remarkable “Election Day Sermon” for 2020 and I am sharing it with you. It was delivered by Gary Hamrick of Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg, Virginia.

STUDY: ‘Biden’s bet on the pandemic could be a miscalculation with swing voters who are far more preoccupied with their jobs.’

MIAMIOct. 30, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Epluribus LLC, the creators of the MOXY™ online social ecosystem released a new study showing that undecided voters have a clear perception of each party’s strengths when it comes to specific social issues. It also shows that jobs and the economy is visibly the most important issue overall and that concerns about COVID-19 are less prominent.

The study fielded one-thousand two-hundred sixty-five (1,265) respondents of eligible but undecided voters (Swing Voters) in the United States (U.S.) between September 27 and October 26, 2020.  The sample was calibrated to represent accurately the voting population with stratification by age group and ethnicity/race within each of eight key swing states – ArizonaFloridaMichiganNorth CarolinaOhioPennsylvaniaTexas and Wisconsin.  The responses were fielded online by qualified double-verified respondents to ensure accuracy.

Among twenty-two issues, which ranged widely, Respondents ranked the following five at the top, in order of importance: (1) Economy/Jobs, (2) Healthcare & Insurance Costs, (3) COVID-19/Pandemic Management, (4) Public Safety/Law & Order, (5) Lower Taxes for Middle Class.

The ranking of these issues shifted dramatically when Respondents were asked to identify which ticket (Democratic or Republican) is better-suited to address these issues. For example, when Respondents were asked to rank issues according to Biden-Harris’ ability to address them, COVID-19/Pandemic Management ranked number one out of 22 issues, whereas Trump-Pence’s ability to address this issue ranked 19th out 22 issues. And for the Trump-Pence ticket, Respondents ranked their ability to address the Stock Market first, whereas Biden-Harris’ ability to address this issue ranked 21st out of 22 issues.

Economy/Jobs received the largest number of top rankings overall when measured as both weighted average and as the most important issue on a one to five scale. Additionally, Economy/Jobs received the largest number of top rankings (five) when Respondents were asked about the Trump-Pence ticket’s ability to address key issues of importance.

According to Epluribus LLC’s founder, César M Melgoza “the most pivotal question in this general election is which ticket independents and undecided party-affiliated voters will choose. The Biden campaign’s heavy emphasis on the pandemic could be a miscalculation, especially as perceived by undecided voters and those younger voters who’ve shown some reluctance to participate. As is often the case, the economy and jobs take priority over just about any other issue and this study reveals the perception that Trump is seen as more adept at creating jobs.”

The wealth of insights gleaned from this study is tremendous and examines issues across key swing states, party affiliation and key demographic subgroups. In particular, variations among each of the eight states point to key areas of sensitivity that are localized in nature. Those interested in the underlying data tables for further study or for augmentations to the study are encouraged to inquire by emailing info@epluribus.live.

The full study is available to members of the MOXY social ecosystem which is free of charge via the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store as well as via the website. Non-members can access an executive summary of the report by visiting the Spotlight link in the company’s website at moxy.live.

Shut Down D.C. Targets Conservative Organizations as ‘Trump Boosters’

Shut Down D.C., a progressive group that says it uses “strategic direct action to advance justice and hold officials accountable,” is targeting at least 27 conservative organizations in the Washington metro area as Election Day approaches.

An interactive map from Shut Down D.C. lists as “Trump boosters” a range of organizations, including The Heritage Foundation, the parent organization of The Daily Signal.

Other groups listed include Americans for Prosperity, Competitive Enterprise Institute, FreedomWorks, Leadership Institute, National Taxpayers Union, Republican Jewish Coalition, and UrbanCURE. (The complete list is below.)

Shut Down D.C.’s map contains the address, phone number, and website for each listed group. It also shows the location of media organizations, technology companies, and government offices in Washington, D.C.

The left is actively working to undermine the integrity of our elections. Read the plan to stop them now. Learn more now >>

The left-wing group’s website boasts that “we’re getting ready for an uprising. Now’s the time to get involved so we’re ready to hit the streets.”

Shut Down D.C.’s election week plan includes three phases: assembling on Nov. 3 at Black Lives Matter Plaza, taking action in the streets from Nov. 4-7, and targeting members of Congress when they return to Washington on Nov. 8.

“Affinity groups may want to start now to plan actions that confronting [sic] targets who need to be disrupted regardless of what is playing out with the vote count (Department of Justice, ICE, RNC, etc.),” the website warns.

On Friday, Shut Down D.C. retweeted a tweet from an account called Earth Guardians that said: “If you’re planning on taking to the streets on election day, @ShutDown_DC has lots of trainings to make sure you have the tools to stay safe and knowledgable [sic] of your rights. Check out the list of trainings below. https://shutdowndc.org/calendar #shutdowndc #earthguardians.”

On Facebook, the organization features an event called “DC Street Smarts Direct Action Training,” which says:

Join ShutDownDC for a direct action and street smarts training! We’ll cover the basics of working together in small groups, preparing for direct action, and staying healthy and safe in the streets. This session will be entirely in person.

It also prompts those interested to register at this link to receive location information for the training and other logistical information.

In September 2019, Shut Down D.C. staged climate protests in the nation’s capital in conjunction with world leaders gathering in New York City as part of the U.N. Climate Action Summit. The Daily Signal previously reported that “these activists took to the streets … to dance and shout their way to ‘climate justice.’”

During that protest, Shut Down D.C. blocked streets to stop traffic and activists held banners that stretched across an entire road, The Daily Signal reported. Others used more creative methods to make sure no one missed their demonstration.

In a statement provided Friday to The Daily Signal in response to an inquiry, Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Alaina Gertz wrote:

In regards to public safety planning, MPD does not discuss operational tactics; however, our Special Operations Division is equipped to handle First Amendment assemblies of any stature. Also, Chief [Peter] Newsham and Mayor [Muriel] Bowser provided additional guidance to the city’s preparations for the election at the press conference yesterday.

Bowser’s office did not respond to The Daily Signal’s request for comment on Shut Down D.C.’s guide to “Trump boosters” by publication deadline.

The Washington Post reported Friday that Bowser “said the District’s public safety officials have been discussing plans for post-election unrest for many weeks if not months.”

Here is the complete list of “Trump boosters” from the Shut Down D.C. map:

  • American Enterprise Institute
  • American Petroleum Institute
  • Americans for Prosperity
  • Americans for Tax Reform
  • Campaign for Working Families
  • College Republican National Committee
  • Competitive Enterprise Institute
  • DC Republican Committee
  • Empower America Project
  • FreedomWorks
  • GOPAC

Why Trump Is In With A Chance

Reliance on polls may be leading pundits to overlook important features of the election

I was in Washington DC this time four years ago — a week before the 2016 election. The mood was eerie, not in the least because of all the morbid Halloween decorations. With skeletons hanging from trees, carved pumpkins on porches and fake gravestones littering front yards, the suburban vistas felt strangely like a scene from a zombie movie.

The nightmarish feeling wasn’t confined to the Halloween celebrations. FBI Director James Comey had just announced the “reopening” of an investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server, with new material surfacing on the seized laptop of disgraced former Democrat politician Anthony Weiner. The Clinton-Kane campaign was in damage control. Trump was ahead in the polls in Florida, and performing well in other swing states. The uncertainty of the Comey investigation, furthermore, was hurting Clinton’s national popularity ratings. The febrile mood led some to cautiously predict a Trump upset.

Fast-forward to now, and the scene is very different. American today feels more like Camus’s The Plague. Over 220,000 Americans have died so far in the coronavirus pandemic, and daily case numbers are rising in a majority of states. Four weeks ago, Trump himself was in hospital recovering from an unexpected bout of Covid-19. The prospect of a vaccine by November — a Trump campaign promise — is increasingly unlikely.

Coronavirus has seriously hurt Trump’s re-election prospects. Despite a recent narrowing of the polls, many pundits think Trump has little possibility of re-election. The Economist’s election forecast says that Trump has a mere 1 in 20 chance of winning the electoral college; Nat Silver’s FiveThirtyEight website gives Trump just a 12 percent chance of victory. NBC Political commentator Dave Wasserman, who predicted a Trump victory in 2016, says that the 2020 presidential race is fundamentally different, and that most of the fundamentals favour Biden. So, obviously, a repeat upset is unlikely.

But, but, but …  is this really the case? The reliance on polling data may be leading pundits to overlook some important features of the election. The “shy Tory” effect — which pertains to people who vote for conservative parties while evading pollsters — may be particularly pronounced in this election, where Trumpism is more taboo than ever.

It’s instructive, therefore, to also look at other indicators.

First, no incumbent with Trump’s very high level of GOP primary support has ever lost his re-election — Trump is very popular with actual Republicans. They even turned out for Trump in a primary where he ran unopposed. Many Trump voters will march through a storm to vote for him. (I mean this literally, as Hurricane Zeta is due to hit the Gulf of Mexico in the next few days.)

Second, Trump will probably improve his vote amongst minorities. He will do well with Hispanics, which will matter in the swing state of Florida. He is popular among Asian voters. Believe it or not, Trump will better his performance with African-Americans — particularly men. Trump lost among African-Americans by about 82 percentage points in 2016 but has closed the gap in support to about 71 points this year, according to figures in FiveThirtyEight last week.

Third, Trump’s support for manufacturing jobs and Biden’s ambitious green energy policies, will give the Republicans a bump in the Rust Belt states. In the third debate, for example, Trump managed to draw Biden out on his commitment to transition from an oil industry to a reliance on renewables. A Democrat-lean poll of Pennsylvania voters published after the debate put Trump two points ahead of Biden (48 percent to 46 percent).

Finally, Trump’s early voting and vote by mail numbers are looking healthy in the swing states of Florida, North Carolina, Michigan and Wisconsin. More registered Republicans than Democrats have cast their ballots in Michigan and Wisconsin, for example, despite the fact that Democrats were predicted to vote in far greater numbers prior to election day.

The final vote in these states will be close, but it is possible that Trump will win all four. If he wins Pennsylvania, it’s curtains for Biden.

As Cary Grant said in The Awful Truth, “You’re wrong about things being different because they’re not the same”. In many respects, Trump is better placed to win now as an incumbent. He’s not seen as risky as he was in 2016.

Biden, on the other hand, may be seen as a liability by many voters — in part because of Trump’s attempts to paint him as a puppet of the far left and as an enemy of the mining and resource sectors. This, rather than Trump’s frenetic style of governance, may be the risk that many voters have in mind as they head to the polls.

Don’t get me wrong. Biden still has a good chance of winning. But November 3 could still go either way. Pundits tipping a Biden landslide may get a surprise.

PODCAST: And the Winner is . . .

You might be interested to know, the winner of the 2020 presidential race will not be one of the declared candidates, but rather the news media. It doesn’t seem that long ago we had our first $1 Billion campaign, shocking everyone, but we are now well past this point. In fact, according to Opensecrets.org, which tracks campaign donations, 2020 will likely end up costing a whopping $11 Billion, thereby smashing all prior records, the last being 2016 where candidates spent up to $6.5 Billion. In the presidential campaigns alone, Opensecrets estimates approximately $5.2 Billion will have been spent, easily beating the 2008 election record of $2.8 Billion.

No matter how you slice it, it is an obscene amount of money to elect our government officials. Shouldn’t we be spending this money on something more useful?

Two reasons for the dramatic increase; first, the Democrats’ desperate attempt to re-take the White House and Congress (forcing the Republicans to respond in kind), and; Two, the COVID-19 pandemic contributed to the uptick. Because people felt house-bound, the candidates were impelled to reach out to voters through television, radio, Internet, print publications, and direct mail. Not surprising, Democrats are outspending Republicans considerably.

In this country, political campaigns fuel the media. Without such campaigns, the media would be crippled, and this is really what I want to discuss. Trust in journalism in this country continues to abate. According to a 2019 Gallup Poll, trust in the mass media has fallen from a high of 68% in 1972 to 41% in 2019 (I suspect it is even lower today). More and more people are going elsewhere for information rather than trusting the “Fake News.” It is a sad day when we trust social media over trained journalists, but such are the times we live in. In other words, despite the billions made by the Media Industrial Complex, the American public doesn’t feel they are getting their money’s worth.

The animosity dividing the country is less due to ideology, and more attributed to the main stream media. Instead of honest journalism in this country, we are offered up a plate of intrigue and anger by the media, which divides the country further. Consider this, put two groups of people in two separate rooms, one with news (with whatever form of media you prefer), and one without. The group exposed to the news will likely show signs of angst and frustration, the other will not.

Also, consider network news such as CNN, Fox, and MSNBC would likely be gone if it wasn’t for the money they receive from elections. So, it is in their best interests to “stir the pot” and keep their audiences on edge. By doing so, they develop addicts who tune in to get their daily fix of anger.

This is why I have long touted the need for electoral reform. The fact we find ourselves in a constant election cycle is not healthy for the candidates or the country. Our process is way too long and should be shortened radically, such as to 60 or 90 days, as is done in other countries. By doing so, politicians no longer have to be obsessed with canvassing for campaign donations and spend more time serving their constituents (which is why we elected them in the first place). It would also finally put some of these “Fake News” hacks out to pasture.

Don’t like shortening the cycle? How about for every dollar paid to the media, another dollar must be paid to a special fund for improving our infrastructure. This should cause politicians to rethink their campaign finances and, at the same time, would do some good for the country.

Just remember, the news media is the real winner of elections, not politicians. With the passing of each election, the news media becomes more massive and uncontrollable. It is long overdue for us to tame the beast that is dividing us.

Keep the Faith!
