Harris Flatlines In Post-Debate Polls Despite Claims Of Victory

A new poll released Sunday shows Vice President Kamala Harris did not significantly move the needle in her favor despite viewers saying she won the debate, according to ABC News/Ipsos.

Following Tuesday’s presidential debate between Harris and former President Donald Trump, a handful of pundits predicted a polling boost for Harris. However, while 58% of Americans say Harris won the debate, she only gained one point compared to pre-debate polls, now holding 51% support to Trump’s 47% among registered voters, ABC News/Ipsos data shows.

The poll, which was produced by Langer Research Associated with fieldwork by Ipsos, surveyed 3,276 adults online between Sept. 11 – 13 and had a margin of sampling error of 2%. In addition to registered voter support, the poll shows among all adults Harris holds 51% with Trump at 46% and among likely voters Harris holds 52% with Trump at 46%.

Among the new post-debate data, 37% of voters viewed Harris more favorably after the debate compared to 23% who found her less favorable. However, the increase for Harris came mainly from her base, with 69% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning Independents stating they found the vice president more favorable after the debate, as 34% of Republicans and GOP-leaning Independents found Trump more favorable, according to ABC News/Ipsos.

Immediately after the debate, singer Taylor Swift broke her silence on a much anticipated endorsement and revealed she would be supporting Harris come this November. While the move sparked online celebration from Democrats, it showed little impact in the polls, with just 6% of voters saying Swift’s endorsement made them more likely to vote for Harris.

In contrast, 13% said it made them less likely to support the vice president and 81% said it makes no difference, data shows.

Polling on support for the former president appears to have dropped roughly four points compared to August’s data, with the post debate poll now showing 56% of Trump supporters backing him strongly. In contrast, 62% of Harris supporters now back her strongly, according to the ABC News/Ipsos poll.

Despite this backing from supporters, 42% of voters found Trump to be too conservative on issues, and 47% called Harris “too liberal,” which had been a point made by Trump on the debate stage.

With the economy and inflation still leading voters’ top concerns when it comes to voting this November, Trump leads Harris on the issue by 7 points in who Americans trust more to handle the job. While the two are evenly matched on crime and safety, Trump leads by 10 points over Harris on immigration, with the vice president leading by 9 points on health care and 14 points on abortion, data shows.

Trump Says He Will Not Debate Harris Again

Former President Donald Trump said Thursday that he would not debate Vice President Kamala Harris again after her campaign called for another face-off.

Immediately following Trump and Harris’ show down Tuesday, the vice president’s campaign began pushing for a second debate between the two in October. Trump wrote in a Truth Social post that he would not be debating Harris again, adding that she had previously denied his push for forums Sept. 4 on Fox News and Sept. 25 on NBC News.

“She was a no-show at the Fox Debate, and refused to do NBC & CBS. KAMALA SHOULD FOCUS ON WHAT SHE SHOULD HAVE DONE DURING THE LAST ALMOST FOUR YEAR PERIOD. THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE,” Trump wrote.

Harris and Trump faced off for the first time Tuesday on ABC News. Trump had previously debated President Joe Biden on June 27. After Biden stumbled through answers on stage, Democrats began pushing for the 81-year-old to drop out of the presidential race. About a month later, Biden did just that and endorsed his vice president.

Trump later proposed three debate dates to the Harris campaign, but the vice president accepted only one. Once the Sept. 10 debate was agreed upon, the Harris campaign issued a statement saying they would debate Trump in October if he showed up to the September debate.

National Press Secretary for the Trump campaign, Karoline Leavitt, previously told the Daily Caller that the statement was a lie, and that there was no October debate in the works.

“When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, ‘I WANT A REMATCH.’ Polls clearly show that I won the Debate against Comrade Kamala Harris, the Democrats’ Radical Left Candidate, on Tuesday night, and she immediately called for a Second Debate. She and Crooked Joe have destroyed our Country, with millions of criminals and mentally deranged people pouring into the USA, totally unchecked and unvetted, and with Inflation bankrupting our Middle Class,” Trump wrote.

“Everyone knows this, and all of the other problems caused by Kamala and Joe – It was discussed in great detail during the First Debate with Joe, and the Second Debate with Comrade Harris,” he continued.

During the Tuesday debate, the vice president attempted to bait Trump into moments of anger by poking fun at his rallies and the results of the 2020 election. Conservative pundits and viewers were left frustrated with the moderators who repeatedly fact checked Trump but failed to correct Harris when she repeated previously debunked stories.

“Two nights ago Donald Trump and I had our first debate, and I believe we owe it to the voters to have another debate because this election and what is at stake could not be more important,” Harris said in response to Trump’s decision on another debate.

The Best Debate Take

Donald Trump is, was and will always be Donald Trump. It’s why we love him. All this hand wringing, once again, about him not taking this opportunity to not be Donald Trump is just a recycle of a well worn smear.

“Harris came out calm, exceeded low expectations, repeated well her memorized talking points, avoided until the last 20 minutes her trademark word-salads, and repeatedly baited and incited an increasingly angrier Trump.” Yes, he got angry. I’m angry. What rational American isn’t angry? These evil clowns are whistling, cackling past the graveyard…..but those whose eyes have been opened are enraged.

As for ‘moving the dial,’ the left will never be moved to reason. It’s a mental illness. I’m sure you saw the clip of the parents whose young son was killed by a Haitian migrant who said they wish a white person killed him because it reflects badly on the migrants. This is beyond irrationality. It’s madness.

The takeaway from the debate is the media is the gravest threat to America. ABC moderators presented a Kafkaesque show of bias, one sided “fact checks” and debate rigging. Trump was debating the moderators not the flapping-tongued Harris. If they could have pulled a Crooks, they would have.

Victor Davis Hanson’s post debate analysis is spot on:

The Candy Crowley Debate

What do we remember, if anything now, about the second presidential debate of 2012?

Not whether Obama or Romney won.

But only how CNN’s Candy Crowley blew up her career and embarrassed CNN—by outrageously hijacking the debate, and as a partisan, fact-checking (and erroneously so) Romney in efforts to help Obama.

So, too, we won’t remember much of these debate details, given the shameful role of the two ABC moderators.

Harris came out calm, exceeded low expectations, repeated well her memorized talking points, avoided until the last 20 minutes her trademark word-salads, and repeatedly baited and incited an increasingly angrier Trump.

Harris called for unity, while smearing him as a racist and repeating the old lies about Charlottesville, “bloodbath,” the 2025 project, and Trump’s supposed support for a federal ban on abortion.

Trump might seem to have matched or beaten Harris if one only reads a transcript of the entire debate—given she never honestly would or could reconcile her past and antithetical present positions.

Nor could Harris explain why she simply did not implement her visions either the last three years or would do so in the next five months.

An irritated Trump started well and ended well; she in-between calmly and successfully at times baited and got Trump’s goat.

But all that will neither matter nor be recalled.

The debate will instead be remembered as a three-on-one pile-on, given the unprofessional and biased team of ABC moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis. Rather than refuting pre-debate fears that their past anti-Trump biases would warp the debate, they only confirmed them.

Both disrupted the tempo to fact check (sometimes in error), and to editorialize Trump’s statements, while letting Harris’s Charlottesville, IVF, national abortion ban, “bloodbath” or 2025 lies go unchecked.

Often their disruptive fact checks of Trump were simply wrong, such as their preposterous claim that no states allow partial birth or late abortions where the viable baby is terminated—when at least six states put no limitations on any abortions.

The questions addressed to Trump on January 6 were designed to provoke. They had no counterpart addressed to Harris—as for example, would she distance herself from Biden, or how she came to win the nomination without winning any elected delegates, or her last person in the room on Afghanistan boast, or if she wished to retract any of her inflammatory past statements, such as bragging that the deadly 2020 demonstrations would not and should not stop, or her tweets to help bail out violent 2020 rioters, or her lie that the border patrol whipped immigrants in the manner reminiscent of slavery and the Klan, or her boast that she was a radical and woke.

Instead, Muir and Davis only asked Trump about supposedly controversial past statements.

Harris was never reprimanded for trying to speak over Trump. Trump was reminded to address the question asked; not so Harris who rarely did.

Watching the entire debate may have aided Harris, given her low expectations. Yet the better sound bites in the next week may help Trump. But the moderators’ shameless bias may swing empathy toward Trump.

So, the real story was how ABC’s moderators ruined the debate, their own reputations, and their network’s brand.

‘Potential For Abuse’: Kamala’s Debate Prep With Lead Google Attorney Sets Off Alarm Bells With Gov’t Watchdogs

The attorney helping Vice President Kamala Harris with debate preparation is also defending Google from the antitrust lawsuit brought by the Biden-Harris Department of Justice (DOJ), which government transparency advocates say presents a conflict of interest.

Karen Dunn, who is helping Harris prepare for Tuesday’s debate against former President Donald Trump, gave the opening statement Monday during Google’s trial. While there is nothing explicitly preventing Dunn from taking on both roles, experts say the campaign’s decision to work with her should raise concern.

“Somebody in the Harris Campaign should google ‘conflict of interest,’” Protect the Public’s Trust Director Michael Chamberlain told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Imagine being a DOJ attorney, working on this case in good faith. Your potential future boss is entrusting her campaign to someone who is working for one of DOJ’s most formidable opponent litigants — against you. That’s disheartening.”

Chamberlain noted there is “tremendous potential for abuse with the overlap of the Vice President’s political world and an executive branch agency.”

“Relationships like these ignite howls of outrage when they involve other campaigns,” he said.

Dunn has helped Democratic candidates in every presidential election since 2008 prepare for debates, according to The New York Times.

Matt Stoller, director of research at the American Economic Liberties Project, told the NYT that “you can’t serve both sides.”

“If these were legal cases, she would be ethically barred from doing what she’s doing,” Stoller said.

Stoller told the DCNF that there’s no formal ethics rule restricting Dunn because “the Harris campaign is a political campaign, not a lawsuit.”

While Richard Painter, former chief White House ethics lawyer during the George W. Bush administration, told the DCNF he sees the “theoretical conflict,” he also explained that “helping with debate prep is a way of volunteering for a campaign.”

“Lots of people and organizations both volunteer for campaigns and provide financial backing to campaigns that have business before the federal government,” Painter said.

The Trump campaign called Harris out over the potential conflict in August.

“Kamala Harris will never stand up to Big Tech because she’s being coached on what to say in the debates by Google’s top lawyer,” Trump campaign senior adviser Tim Murtaugh told Fox News. “Think about how outrageous it is — their administration is suing Google, but Harris is taking political advice from the defendant’s lawyer.”

The debate between Harris and Trump, which will take place at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is scheduled for 9 p.m. Tuesday on ABC News.

The Harris campaign and Dunn did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Kamala Backs Out of Presidential Debate

The less America sees and hears of Kamala the better it is for the Democrats. Why debate when you have the whole Democrat media/entertainment complex pimping for Commie-la 24/7? Trump should do the debate with an empty podium.

Kamala Harris has backed out of the Presidential Debate hosted by Fox News on September 4th. President Trump says he will have a live tele town hall with Sean Hannity on September 4th in Pennsylvania on Fox News.

Trump says Kamala Harris will not participate in Fox News debate on Sept. 4

Trump and Harris have both confirmed they would participate in a Sept. 10 debate on ABC News

By Landon Mion • Fox News

Former President Trump said Monday night that Vice President Kamala Harris’ team told his campaign that she would not participate in a Fox News presidential debate on September 4.

The proposed debate would have been held in Pennsylvania and moderated by Fox News anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.

“I am not surprised by this development because I feel that she knows it is very difficult, at best, for her to defend her record setting Flip-Flopping on absolutely everything she once believed in, including her statements that THERE WILL BE NO FRACKING IN PENNSYLVANIA and her HORRIBLE Performance on the Border,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.

The former president had initially been reluctant to debate Harris after President Biden suspended his re-election campaign because she was not the Democratic Party’s official candidate before later agreeing to debate her once she secured the party’s nomination for president.

Trump and Harris have both confirmed they would participate in a Sept. 10 debate on ABC News. Trump previously said he also agreed to an NBC News debate on Sept. 25.

The Harris campaign has said it would consider a second presidential debate in October. Both campaigns have also agreed to a vice presidential debate on CBS News on Oct. 1 between Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz and Ohio Republican Sen. J.D. Vance.

And her pimping press will cheer her.

Debate Debacle: Harris Refuses Trump’s New Terms

UPDATE: President Trump comments on a possible Kamala debate coming soon

Vice President Kamala Harris is accusing former President Donald Trump of avoiding debating her — while also avoiding a debate against him. In May, Trump agreed to two debates against President and then-presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden, the first to be hosted by CNN and the second by ABC. The CNN debate took place on June 27 and reportedly led to Biden being pressured by his own party to retire his reelection campaign.

The debate hosted by ABC was initially scheduled for September 10, but once Biden dropped out of the race, Trump’s team announced that they would not be scheduling further debates until the Democrats had officially selected a nominee at their convention in late August. “Given the continued political chaos surrounding Crooked Joe Biden and the Democrat Party, general election debate details cannot be finalized until Democrats formally decide on their nominee,” the Trump campaign said in a July 25 statement. “Therefore, it would be inappropriate to schedule things with Harris because Democrats very well could still change their minds.”

Harris immediately began criticizing Trump, alleging that he was “backing out” of debate agreements and asking on social media, “What happened to ‘any time, any place’?”

In a Truth Social post late Friday night, Trump clarified that he would be open to a debate against Harris if it were hosted by Fox News. “The Debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant, and I am in litigation against ABC Network and George Stephanopoulos, thereby creating a conflict of interest,” the former president explained, referring to his defamation lawsuit against ABC News after Stephanopoulos insisted on air that Trump is a rapist.

Trump said that the Fox News-hosted debate would take place in Pennsylvania with anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum moderating. He had teased a similar prospect in May, when his opponent was Biden. Although Fox News has not been as openly hostile towards Trump as ABC, the former president noted that “the Rules will be similar to the Rules of my Debate with Sleepy Joe, who has been treated horribly by his Party — BUT WITH A FULL ARENA AUDIENCE!”

In a Saturday morning statement, the Harris campaign rejected Trump’s suggestion of a debate hosted by Fox News, preferring instead the news outlet currently involved in litigation for allegedly defaming Trump. “Donald Trump is running scared and trying to back out of the debate he already agreed to and running straight to Fox News to bail him out,” the Harris team claimed, calling Trump “Mr. Anytime, anywhere, any place,” referring to a comment Trump made about debating Biden, not Harris. “He needs to stop playing games and show up to the debate he already committed to on [September] 10. The Vice President will be there one way or the other to take the opportunity to speak to a prime-time national audience.”

“Kamala Harris doesn’t have the mental capacity to do a REAL Debate against me,” Trump fired back over Truth Social. He continued, “She’s afraid to do it because there is no way she can justify her Corrupt and Open Borders, the Environmental Destruction of our Country, the Afghanistan Embarrassment, Runaway Inflation, Terrible Economy, High Interest Rates and Taxes, and her years long fight to stop the words, ‘Merry Christmas.’ I’ll see her on September 4th or, I won’t see her at all.”

In an interview last week, Trump said that he would “probably end up debating” Harris. Referring to the vice president’s far-left policies, a frequent subject of his campaign ads, Trump also stated, “I want to do a debate, but I also can say this: everybody knows who I am, and now people know who she is.”

Trump’s running mate, Senator J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), has accused Harris of “hiding” from the media, noting that she has not done a single interview since Biden dropped out of the race. “She’s fine if you put her in front of the teleprompter and tell her what to say. But she actually has to answer questions based purely on her own knowledge and interest in policy. Then it becomes a bit of a disaster,” Vance told Breitbart News, saying that Harris has “basically pursued a strategy of hiding from the press in the hope that people don’t realize how ill prepared she is and how bad her ideas are for the country.”

Vance also emphasized that he’s ready to debate whomever Harris selects as her running mate. “Certainly, I think we should debate. I’d love to have a robust debate. I expect that we will,” the senator said, quipping, “I really don’t care who” Harris chooses as her vice presidential nominee. “My role here is to prosecute the case against Kamala Harris and remind people that President Trump was a good president who deserves a second term,” Vance concluded.

Trump Campaign’s Simple Plan To Destroy Kamala Harris: Get Her Off-Script

The Trump campaign believes there is an easy way to defeat Vice President Kamala Harris in November: get her off-script in front of voters and reporters.

There have been rumblings since President Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race about whether or not former President Donald Trump would debate Harris, fueled by Trump’s comment he wasn’t “thrilled” about debating for ABC News and the campaign’s indication that a previously agreed-upon September debate with Biden is null and void. Harris has even quipped back at Trump, “What happened to ‘any time, any place?’”

However, Trump has also said he does feel an obligation to debate Harris and will “absolutely” do so, and according to individuals familiar with the former president’s thinking, the current chatter about whether the debate will happen or not is more smoke than fire.

“This seems like the game before the game,” one source familiar with the campaign’s plans told the Daily Caller. A Trump ally also indicated that Trump is holding out to see if Harris will agree to debate on Fox News rather than ABC.

“”I mean, clearly they understand he’s going to have to debate her and is going to debate her more than once,” one Trump ally said. “Yeah, that’s not something she excels at, that’s for sure.”

A number of allies close to Trump and some officials on his campaign said a debate between Trump and Harris plays right into their hands due to their desire to get her off-script in front of large audiences. Her penchant for gaffes and awkward moments in interviews and live events will help drive voters away, they told the Caller. After all, that’s what ultimately killed Biden’s reelection bid.

“Every time Kamala Harris opens her mouth she’s off-script. Her record is the most dangerously liberal record in existence and no amount of scripting can change that,” Chris LaCivita, a senior Trump campaign official, told the Caller.

Trump campaign spokesperson Brian Hughes said the more Harris has to explain her record, the better it will be for Trump.

“Biden acted like a California liberal, Kamala actually is one. The more she’s forced to explain her dangerously liberal record, the more Americans will see she’s wrong on the border, wrong for fixing out of control inflation, and wrong on restoring our nation to a strong position in the world,” Hughes said.

Harris has run into problems during her time as vice president during unscripted interviews. In a 2021 interview with Lester Holt, Harris repeatedly dodged questions about visiting the southern border, resulting in a viral moment so damaging that it reportedly prompted her team to change their entire media strategy.

In a 2022 interview with Chuck Todd, Harris said that the U.S.-Mexico border is “secure” despite record numbers of illegal aliens crossing into the U.S. In another 2021 interview, Harris said she was the last one in the room when Biden made the decision to withdraw from Afghanistan, saying she felt comfortable with the decision. Thirteen American servicemembers were killed during the withdrawal, and it marked a turning point in Biden’s approval rating that the president never recovered from.

“She has to perform on the stump. She’s now running for president. She’s the presumptive Democratic nominee. Can’t hide her in the closet, can’t hide her in the basement,” one Trump ally told the Caller. “She’s got to not make mistakes and not say crazy things. She has to make sense, first of all, which is often a problem for her.”

One Trump spokesperson did clarify that the campaign believes Harris’ record speaks for itself, whether she has a gaffe-filled debate appearance or not.

“If Kamala Harris hits the campaign trail, it’s certain that America will get the chance to see how dangerously liberal she is, but do we need her to do that to win? No. She’s not even the nominee, but Harris-Biden’s record of failure speaks for itself,” they said.

Trump Campaign National Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told Daily Caller editor Vince Coglianese on his radio show Friday that Harris is “just as frankly incompetent as Joe Biden was” and “she has a very hard time speaking fluid, serious sentences.”

“Her laugh is something that I think is distasteful to a lot of Americans. But not only that, her word salads, which we’ve seen again in numerous occasions, even in the most serious of times when she’s meeting with foreign leaders, she really made a fool of herself and a mockery of this country. And it is her record again that she is going to need to answer for,” Leavitt added.

Harris has been quick out of the gate since becoming the presumptive nominee, raising record-breaking sums of money and delivering teleprompter-driven stump speeches Biden was incapable of that have excited Democrats. But like with Biden, the real test will come when there’s no safety net, like on a debate night or during a tough interview in primetime.

Biden Thinks His Dismal Polling Is Nothing To Worry About, But History Paints A Different Picture

President Joe Biden has insisted that he can recover from his polling deficit, but historically, candidates who have been in his shoes went on to lose their elections.

Biden claimed in an interview with BET on Wednesday night that several other presidents who were behind in the polls managed to pull off a November victory. Polling experts who spoke to The Daily Caller News Foundation said Biden’s optimism ignores one inconvenient fact: his low approval ratings.

President Joe Biden has insisted that he can recover from his polling deficit, but historically, candidates who have been in his shoes went on to lose their elections.

Biden said in his BET interview that “presidents who have won at this stage of the game — the last seven or eight presidents — five of them were losing at this time by significant margins.”

However, of the last 15 presidential races that featured incumbents, only two former presidents (George W. Bush in 2004 and Harry Truman in 1948) ultimately won after trailing behind at this point in their campaigns.

Even among first-time nominees, most of the last eight candidates who were polling ahead at this stage won the presidency, with the exceptions of Trump in 2016 and Bush in 2004.

“This isn’t Bill Clinton down two points,” McHenry told the DCNF. “This isn’t Barack Obama down two points. This is an 81-year-old man who’s showing significant signs of wear and tear, down several points nationally, and by mid- to upper single digits in a lot of the swing states he would need to win.

Over the past few months, Biden’s approval rating has stayed below 40% while his disapproval rating has soared above 50%, according to FiveThirtyEight projections. Biden’s disapproval rating has exceeded his approval since September 2021.

“There’s nobody who’s been as underwater as he is now, with their job approval, who’s ever been able to come back and win,” Charles Bullock, the Richard B. Russell chair in political science and professor of public and international affairs at the University of Georgia, told the DCNF.

Biden’s standing is cause for alarm for Democrats, as he trails former President Donald Trump in seven key battleground states, according to RealClearPolling averages. Trump is narrowing in on Biden’s lead in states like New York, New Mexico, Minnesota and Virginia where Democrats have comfortably won for decades.

“It’s one thing to say, ‘I’m only down two or three points nationally,’ but elections aren’t decided nationally, they’re decided state by state,” McHenry told the DCNF. “And he’s trailing by significant margins in all the swing states at this point.”

Only two other candidates in the past 15 election cycles who were doing worse than Biden at this stage managed to win their elections. In 1988, Bush was losing to Democratic nominee Michael Dukakis, before going on to win his election. Similarly, Republican nominee and now-former President Richard Nixon was trailing behind his Democratic challenger Hubert Humphrey but was able to pull off the victory in 1968.

“It is technically possible and extremely unlikely,” McHenry told the DCNF. “Frankly, I don’t think he is in a position where he can recover. He is not strong enough physically or mentally to make the case for himself.”

Speculation about Biden’s cognitive health has surrounded his presidency and his campaign, but it came to a head following his poor performance during the first presidential debate on June 27. The day after Trump and Biden took to the debate stage, 60% of voters and 40% of Democrats said the president should be replaced as the Democratic nominee, according to a Morning Consult poll from June 28.

“Democrats who are running in toss-up states are running well ahead of him,” Bullock told the DCNF. “So it’s not that it’s a problem necessarily with the rejection of the Democratic Party. It’s much more personal. It’s concerns about Joe Biden. Three weeks ago, he had a chance to allay some of these concerns, and instead of allaying them, he simply reinforced them.”

Since the first presidential debate in June, over 25 House Democrats and four Senators have called for Biden to drop out amid growing concerns that he will drag the party from the top of the ticket.

“It feels like the discussion has gone from ‘will they replace Joe Biden’ to ‘when will they replace Joe Biden?’” McHenry told the DCNF. “That doesn’t mean they absolutely will, but it feels more and more that he is going to get replaced.”

Biden’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the DCNF.

Panicked Dems Scramble For Biden Replacement After ‘Disaster’ Debate Performance

It took all of thirty minutes for Democrats to begin pontificating about replacing President Joe Biden on the ballot in November during Thursday night’s presidential debate.

Months before they were expected to, Biden and former President Donald Trump met under unique circumstances. CNN’s Dana Bash and Jake Tapper moderated the faceoff in a studio, with no live audience, commercial breaks and mic cuts. Though Biden stayed out of the public eye for a week in order to prep, the 81-year-old’s age was on full display as he failed to provoke a rather controlled former [President] Trump.

“Every Democrat I know is texting that this is bad,” Obama campaign alumnus Ravi Gupta tweeted just 15 minutes into the debate.

“Just say it publicly and begin the hard work of creating space in the convention for a selection process. I’ll vote for a corpse over Trump, but this is a suicide mission,” Gupta continued.

Thirty minutes into the debate, the New York Times published an op-ed about the “high anxiety” its deputy opinion editor was hearing from senior Democrats. The piece characterized his performance as a “disaster.”

“I love Joe Biden, he didn’t do well at all,” Van Jones, a former adviser to President Barack Obama, said during a solemn CNN post-debate show.

“We are still far from our convention and there is still time to figure out a different way forward if he will allow us to do that,” Jones added.

“We would be able to wipe out his debt, we’d be able to help make sure that all those things we need to do, childcare, eldercare, making sure that we continue to strengthen our healthcare system, making sure that we are able to make every single solitary person eligible for what I have been able to do with the COVID – excuse me, dealing with everything we have to do with,” the president continued before pausing and looking down.

“Look, we finally beat Medicare,” Biden said after pausing for several moments.

“I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence, I don’t think he knows what he said either,” Trump said after Biden trailed off at one point.

The incidents sent Democrats into a tailspin. Many took to Twitter and the media to call for the president to step down with just weeks to go until the Democratic National Convention, where the party could conceivably replace Biden.

“Guys, the Dems should nominate someone else — before it’s too late,” former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang wrote on twitter.

“I wish Biden would reflect on this debate performance and then announce his decision to withdraw from the race, throwing the choice of Democratic nominee to the convention,” New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof tweeted.

ROOKE: The First Presidential Debate Is Obviously Rigged, And Poll Shows Americans Know It

Americans are very aware that President Joe Biden is entering friendly territory at the first presidential debate on Thursday.

If Biden wanted to display normalcy or strength, it won’t happen because most voters believe there is no chance the moderators would remain neutral regarding former President Donald Trump.

Trump supporters have been very vocal about his decision to debate Biden on CNN with Jake Tapper and Dana Bash as the event’s moderators. However, a poll shows that not just Trump allies but most Americans see the glaring impartiality frequently displayed by the network and its hosts.

Around 56% of the Issues & Insights poll voters said they either didn’t approve or were unsure of CNN as the network host for the first presidential debate. The polling gets worse when one looks at the debate hosts Tapper and Bash, both longtime critics of Trump and his supporters.

As one of CNN’s top media personalities, Tapper has used his platform to push the Russian collusion hoax and frequently referenced Adolf Hitler when speaking about Trump or his policies. So it’s not shocking that Americans would have such a low opinion of the elite media stooge. Only 30% of voters gave Tapper a positive score, while 75% voted unsure or unfavorable.

Voters are even more unsure of Bash, the polling shows. She has just a 26% favorability rating, with 73% of voters either unsure or downright pessimistic about the CNN personality. This likely has to do with her consistent attacks on Trump and his supporters on her show. Bash even asked Frank Luntz in 2023, “Who are these people?” still wanting to vote for him after “everything that’s going on that happened on January 6.”

Biden’s handlers are hiding him away in Delaware for “debate prep,” which is really code for rest and the likely avalanche of medical intervention he will need to last the whole time. After several embarrassing public moments recently that forced the president’s campaign to claim critics were maliciously editing his videos to make him look bad, the pressure is on Biden (and his medical team) to hold it together.

While the bar couldn’t be lower for Biden, now he has to contend with the knowledge that Americans know that Trump is walking into a hostile room with moderators prepping on how to take him down for Biden. All the president has to do is speak seemingly coherent phrases, and elite media will praise this as a Biden win.

Trump Will Get Final Word At CNN Debate After Coin Flip

Former President Donald Trump will have the final words in the first presidential debate, CNN announced Thursday.

President Joe Biden’s campaign won the coin toss and chose to pick where Biden would stand on the stage. Trump’s campaign then got to choose who spoke last.

“Former President Donald Trump will get the final word when he debates President Joe Biden on CNN next week, after a coin flip to determine podium placement and the order of closing statements. The coin landed on the Biden campaign’s pick — tails — which meant his campaign got to choose whether it wanted to select the president’s podium position or the order of closing statements,” CNN, which is hosting the debate, said in a statement.

Ahead of the debate, the two campaigns agreed to terms, such as microphones being cut off when it is not that person’s turn to speak, no live audience and pre-written notes, and two commercial breaks.

“Biden’s campaign chose to select the right podium position, which means the Democratic president will be on the right side of television viewers’ screens and his Republican rival will be on viewers’ left. Trump’s campaign then chose for the former president to deliver the last closing statement, which means Biden will go first at the conclusion of the debate,” they continued.

Meanwhile, during the debate, many of Trump’s potential picks for vice president will be at a watch party hosted by the Republican National Committee (RNC) and former Republican Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler. Republican South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, who is also reportedly a potential pick for vice president, will reportedly be attending the debate with Trump.
