EXCLUSIVE: ‘Totally Silent’: Donald Trump Jr. Says Media Won’t Give Walz Family The Mary Trump Treatment

Donald Trump Jr. explained he does not believe the media will cover that several members of Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s family, including his own brother, are reportedly supporting his rival, former President Donald Trump, in an exclusive Wednesday interview with the Daily Caller.

A photo circulated the internet earlier in the day of eight people reportedly related to the Democratic Vice President nominee Walz, all wearing “Walz for Trump” shirts. They were all also standing in front of a “Trump 2024,  Take America Back” flag. The Caller asked Trump Jr. about the photo and if he thinks it will make a difference in the election, to which the former president’s eldest son said he believes the media will be “totally silent” on the issue. He compared it to his father’s niece, Mary Trump, who has been an outspoken critic of his father, but who Trump Jr. says he has seen once in 25 years for a brief period of time.

The photo was originally shared by a friend of the family, then posted by former Republican Nebraska gubernatorial candidate Charles W. Herbster, Newsweek reported.

“It’s interesting how the media is totally silent on that. They made Mary Trump into the biggest Trump family, like ‘knowledgeable person.’ This is someone I literally think I’ve seen her once in 25 years and that was at my aunt’s birthday party at the white House for like 90 minutes, maybe two hours. Somewhere in the middle of my father’s presidency. I hadn’t seen her since I was probably early teens prior to that. But they put her on TV as the most knowledgeable person on the Trump family. We’ve never even seen this person in years. It’s just part of the grift,” Trump Jr. told the Caller.

Mary Trump published a book about Trump calling him “the World’s Most Dangerous Man” and has continued to criticize him throughout his presidency. She has accused Trump of using racist slurs and more, something he has continued to deny. In September 2021, Trump filed a $100 million lawsuit against The New York Times and Mary Trump, alleging his confidential tax documents were shared improperly and that his niece was pressured into sharing the information.

Walz has come under fire for signing legislation in favor of putting tampons in boys bathrooms, accusations of stolen valor regarding him claiming to have served in combat and his history and relationship with China. These were just some of the issues Trump Jr. mentioned to the Caller regarding the VP nominee.

“So I hope the media gives them as much attention as they gave Trump family members that didn’t like my father or were willing to lie about him or whatever it may be. That won’t actually happen. But if by the media’s own rules, we should take everything that they say into great consideration,” he continued. “And frankly, based on the rest of Tim Walz’s policies, based on the way he let his home state burn to the ground, based on the prioritization of putting tampons in boys bathrooms, based on his stolen valor and continued lies about all of this, the guy doesn’t seem like a good guy.”

The former president’s son went after Walz and the coverage he and his campaign have been receiving.

“It doesn’t seem like someone you’d ever want in charge of anything, let alone potentially the presidency of the United States. But again, it’s easy to get away with being a liar and a scumbag if you’re a Democrat and you have the media propaganda machine doing all your boosting for you,” Trump Jr. added.

Dem Defending Walz’s Military Record Has His Own History Of Claiming Honor He Never Earned

Democratic Gov. Wes Moore of Maryland falsely claimed on an application to have been awarded a Bronze Star Medal for his Army service in Afghanistan in 2006, according to The New York Times.

Moore claimed to have received the honor on a White House fellowship application in 2006, and has failed to correct television hosts who have wrongly introduced him as a recipient of the award in the past, the New York Times reported. Moore, who has also defended Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz amid his accusations of stolen valor, called the discrepancy an “honest mistake” and expressed regret for not correcting his application, according to a statement from Thursday.

“I was encouraged to fill out an application for the White House Fellowship by my deputy brigade commander,” Moore said in a statement. “In fact, he helped me edit it before I sent it in. At the time, he had recommended me for the Bronze Star. He told me to include the Bronze Star award on my application after confirming with two other senior-level officers that they had also signed off on the commendation.”

“Still, I sincerely wish I had gone back to correct the note on my application,” Moore continued. “It was an honest mistake, and I regret not making that correction.”

Moore had not received either the Bronze Star or the Combat Army Badge at the time that he submitted his application in January of 2006, the New York Times confirmed. He was eventually awarded the Combat Army Badge in May 2006, but there is no record of him ever receiving a Bronze Star.

“Over the last few weeks, our country has grown used to seeing what it looks like when a veteran’s integrity is attacked for political gain,” Moore said in the statement. “But those who seek to cast doubt on our records misunderstand something fundamental about true patriots, who have put on the flag of our country and put everything on the line to be called Americans: We don’t get shaken. We put our heads down, and we do the work. And that is what I will continue to do.”

Moore also defended another prominent Democrat who had his military record questioned. Just days after Vice President Kamala Harris announced Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate, his statements about his military service in the National Guard were called into question.

Walz previously advocated for a ban on “weapons of war” that he said he “carried in war,” according to a video posted by Harris’ campaign on X. However, Walz never actually went into combat and reportedly retired from the Minnesota National Guard in 2005 shortly after he learned that his unit was being deployed to Iraq.

Republican Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio, former President Donald Trump’s running mate, called out this discrepancy and claimed that Walz “abandoned” his unit.

“Well I wonder, Tim Walz, when were you ever in war?” Vance said during a campaign event. “What was this weapon that you carried into war given that you abandoned your unit right before they went to Iraq and he has not spent a day in a combat zone? What bothers me about Tim Walz is the stolen valor garbage.”

Moore responded to Vance and defended Walz in an August MSNBC interview, saying that anyone who has served the country “deserves our utmost respect.”

“You don’t get to sergeant major just because,” Moore said in the interview. “You get to sergeant major because you’ve served this country.”

Trump Adds RFK Jr., Tulsi Gabbard To His Transition Team

Former President Donald Trump has added former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to be part of his transition team after they both recently endorsed his bid for the presidency.

“As President Trump’s broad coalition of supporters and endorsers expands across partisan lines, we are proud that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard have been added to the Trump/Vance Transition team. We look forward to having their powerful voices on the team was we work to restore America’s greatness,” Trump senior adviser Brian Hughes said in a statement obtained by the Daily Caller.

Kennedy, who was running as an Independent, suspended his campaign Friday and endorsed Trump. Just days after, Gabbard, who has reportedly been helping Trump with debate preparation, also endorsed Trump, saying Monday that she believes Trump is the best person to keep us out of wars.

“He keeps us in his heart in the decisions that he makes. We saw this through his first term in the presidency, when he not only didn’t start any new wars, he took action to deescalate and prevent wars,” Gabbard said.

The former congresswoman compared Trump’s record on foreign conflict to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, arguing that their administration had brought the country closer to war. She added that she was “confident” Trump would “do the work to walk us back from the brink of war.”

Kennedy first told Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson about being asked to help with Trump’s transition team, saying they were discussing it.

“I’m going to work to get him elected,” Kennedy said to Carlson. “And I’m working with the campaign. We’re working on policy issues together. I’ve been asked to go onto the transition team and to help pick the people who will be running the government.”

WATCH:

Also serving on Trump’s transition team are his sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, as well as the former administrator of the Small Business Administration Linda McMahon, businessman Howard Lutnick and Ohio Republican Sen. and Republican Vice Presidential nominee J.D. Vance.

“The 2024 GOP Platform to Make America Great Again is a forward-looking agenda that will deliver safety, prosperity and freedom for the American people. My administration will deliver on these bold promises,” Trump said in a statement. “We will restore strength, competence and common sense to the Oval Office. I have absolute confidence the Trump-Vance Administration will be ready to govern effectively on Day One.”

A source close to Trump told the Daily Caller that Kennedy will “definitely be on the campaign trail and doing media” ahead of the election.

ROOKE: Trump’s Latest Move To Siphon Voters From Kamala’s Largest Voting Bloc Could Be A Game Changer

Since Democrats threw President Joe Biden out the proverbial window to anoint Vice President Kamala Harris as the new nominee, female voters have flocked to her campaign. However, former President Donald Trump has a plan to bring a large portion of these voters back.

One of Trump’s greatest weaknesses is his inability to reach female voters on a large scale. While conservative women, in large part, enthusiastically support Trump, a swath of independent female voters aren’t sold on his campaign. But that should all change now that presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. suspended his campaign in most swing states and fully endorsed Trump for president.

WATCH: RFK Jr’s EPIC entrance to President Trump’s rally in Arizona

Women make up just over 51% of Americans; among those, about 18% are mothers, according to a report gathered by Vote Mama Foundation. The group found that 7.7% of women in the U.S. are mothers to children under the age of six, and 10.2% are mothers to children older than six but under 18.

There is reason to believe these women will support Trump now that Kennedy has endorsed his campaign and will be part of his administration, according to female commentator Alex Clark.

“Can’t express to you how amped conservative female voters are after last night. They have been waiting for 20+ years to hear a presidential candidate acknowledge the health crisis stemming from our corrupt food system. Women are re-energized and ready to show out for Trump,” Clark posted on X after Kennedy’s announcement.

A growing concern, one that I have, too, is how we as mothers are supposed to raise healthy children when everything being sold to us, from our water supply to the food at our local grocery stores, is filled with harmful chemicals that disrupt our body’s immune system and prevent us from being healthy. Even seemingly healthy foods like milk, eggs, and meat are hardly fitting for humane consumption.

It all feels too overwhelming to even think about, much less fight against. How is a family in a Biden-Harris economy supposed to afford to buy all organic produce, raw milk, pasture-raised eggs, and grass-fed beef when they can barely pay the mortgage? Not only are we fighting against unrelenting inflation driving prices high, but the products (even if we could afford them) are still filled with chemicals forced onto farmers by the federal government.

WATCH: RFK Jr: Teaming up With Trump, Pavel Durov’s Arrest, CIA, and the Fall of the Democrat Party

These issues and more (the U.S.’s insane childhood vaccine schedule) are the foundation on which Kennedy has built his campaign. Ipsos polling from March 2024 showed that women made up a large portion of Kennedy’s campaign support. Kennedy voters are slightly more likely to be women and identify as independents rather than Democrats or Republicans, according to the polling.

These suburban women are looking for someone to come in and help clean up our environment and make it easier to raise a healthy family. It would be a mistake for Democrats to laugh this off as if their obsession with anti-family policies like abortion are the only things women care about.

Trump’s move to include Kennedy in this fight will not only change the game for his election but should hopefully mark a shift in the American food industry. Kennedy wants to end the revolving door from federal regulators, like the FDA, CDC, and OSHA, into Big Pharma, Big Ag, and Big Food. This would be music to the ears of desperate American mothers.

It’s clear that Trump is gunning for the women’s vote, and Kennedy could help him finally break into their voting bloc.

BREAKING: RFK Jr. Suspends Campaign, Backs Trump.

By: National Pulse, August 23, 2024:

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is suspending his 2024 presidential bid and encouraging his supports to vote for former President Donald J. Trump. The scion of the Kennedy political clan made the announcement during a press conference in Arizona. Speculation is rife that Kennedy will join Trump at an event in the state later this evening.

“Sixteen months ago in April 2023, I launched my campaign for President of the United States,” Kennedy said—thanking the hard work of his supporters, volunteers, and campaign staff. He continued, ominously stating: “In the name of ‘saving democracy’ the Democratic party set out to dismantle it.”

“Many months ago, I promised the American people I’d withdraw from the race if I became a spoiler,” Kennedy continued before announcing he was suspending his campaign and would remove his name from the ballot in about ten battleground states, encouraging his supporters to cast their ballots for former President Trump.

Kennedy’s exit and soft endorsement of Trump could benefit the latter in the 2024 presidential race. Election polls show a close race between Trump and Kamala Harris, and Kennedy has consistently polled between three and five points among voters. This significant slice of the electorate could put Trump over the top in November.

This week, speculation that Kennedy would exit the race hit a fever pitch following a series of public statements made by his running mate, Nicole Shanahan. Late Thursday night, the Kenendy campaign submitted paperwork withdrawing RFK Jr.’s name from the Arizona presidential ballot line.

The National Pulse reported earlier on Friday the Hollywood comedian and Kennedy supporter Rob Schneider posted a letter on X (formerly Twitter) claiming that the independent candidate would, in fact, be dropping from the race and backing former President Trump. In his letter, Scheider himself also stated he’d support Trump in November.

Earlier this month, RFK Jr. said the Democrats under Kamala Harris and Joe Biden would be “unrecognizable” to his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, and father, Robert ‘Bobby’ Kennedy Sr. Meanwhile, a leaked call between Kennedy and Trump following Trump’s near-assassination in Butler, Pennsylvania, revealed the former President discussing the possibility of Kennedy joining the next Trump administration, possibly with a role investigating vaccine safety.

RFK Jr. Says In Court Filing He Will Endorse Trump

Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said in court filings he will endorse former President Donald Trump on Friday, The Associated Press reported.

Kennedy submitted court filings in Pennsylvania on Friday prior to his speech addressing the nation about his “path forward”, according to The Associated Press. Kennedy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, also alluded to the possibility that Kennedy would “join forces” with the Republican nominee on Wednesday.

“There’s two options that we’re looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump, we draw somehow more votes from Trump,” Shanahan told Tom Bilyeu, host of the “Impact Theory” podcast, on Tuesday. “Or we walk away right now and join forces with … Donald Trump and you know, we walk away from that and explain to our base why we’re making this decision.”

Trump responded on Thursday to circulating reports about Kennedy’s withdrawal and potential endorsement, saying that he “would be honored” to gain the independent candidate’s support. Trump remarked on Kennedy’s character, saying that his “heart is in the right place,” while also recalling that the Democratic Party treated him “very badly” by barring him from debates and imposing rules that advantaged Biden.

“He’s a – as you know, he is a little different kind of a guy, very smart guy, a very good person. If he endorsed me, I would be honored by it, I would be very honored by it,” Trump told “Fox & Friends” co-hosts Ainsley Earhardt, Lawrence Jones, Brian Kilmeade and guest host Will Cain on Thursday. “He really has his heart in the right place, he is a respected person. Women love some of his policies and I guess some people don’t like some of his policies. But, overall, I thought the Democrats, he was a Democrat, I don’t know what he is right now, but he was a Democrat, they treated him very badly.”

Shanahan also called out Democrats for their treatment of Kennedy’s candidacy in a post on X from Thursday.

“When I point out what the Democratic Party and their super PACs have done to sabotage our campaign, their response is always, ‘but Trump is worse,’” Shanahan said in the post. “Here’s an idea: stop suing us. Let us debate. Quit rigging the media and the polls. It’s a simple formula, people—get with it.”

Kennedy announced he would be continuing to run as an independent in October, criticizing the Democratic Party for impeding his candidacy. Kennedy also differentiated himself from party-line Democrats over his opinion on censorshipvaccine mandates, illegal immigration and the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war.

After Biden bowed out of the race in July and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, Kennedy’s polling numbers plummeted.

Prior to Biden’s withdrawal, multiple polls showed Kennedy with double-digit support. A Forbes/HarrisX poll from June put Kennedy at 16%, with Trump leading Biden by 5 points, drawing 41% and 36%, respectively.

Kennedy’s support dropped to as low as 2% as of early August, according to an Economist/YouGov poll. Since Democrats swapped the top of the ticket, Harris has gained a two point edge over Trump with the candidates polling at 45% and 43%, respectively, according to the poll.

ROOKE: Kamala Kowtows To Far Left In First Major Campaign Decision

Vice President Kamala Harris unveiled Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her pick for Vice President, exposing her fidelity to the far-left wing of the Democratic party.

While Harris spent the July flip-flopping on important issues to make her look less like a left-wing puppet and more like a “leader for all Americans,” her choice for running mate negates any of that work.

Walz is the poster child for what not to do when governing for all Americans. During the 2020 George Floyd riots, Walz directed his anger not toward the rioters but to local law enforcement and ordinary Americans who had nothing to do with it. His leadership helped set the stage for national race riots that claimed American lives, destroyed American communities, and resulted in billions of dollars of damage. He added fuel to the fire of racial tension that consumed national conversations.

WATCH: VP candidate Tim Walz replaced the Minnesota state flag with one that resembles the Somali flag

While excusing the actions of thousands of Black Lives Matter rioters, he ramped up draconian COVID policies like instituting snitch lines where neighbors could participate in turning each other in for breaking his mandatory stay-at-home orders.

His justice system ensured that while rioters went free, Walz’s executive orders were to be followed or else. Judge Joseph Bueltel sentenced 57-year-old bar and bistro owner Lisa Hanson to 90 days in jail and a $1000 fine for keeping her business open during the lockdowns. The judge said he used Hanson’s sentence as a message to people who violate executive orders.

Just two days before Hanson’s conviction, the state dismissed the criminal case against Mike Forcia, the man responsible for orchestrating the mob that tore down the statue of Christopher Columbus that used to sit outside the state Capitol. He got off after completing some community service requirements.

Walz apparently knew the statue was at risk of a mob attack, but law enforcement was not instructed to do anything to protect it. They sat back as the mob destroyed American heritage so that the governor could appease the far-left rioters.

Covid executive orders are the only examples of Walz’s radical policies. In March 2023, he signed Executive Order 23-03safeguarding child sex change surgeries and other treatments considered “gender-affirming healthcare.”

“Gender-affirming care” is a euphemism proponents use to describe the use of irreversible hormone suppression and hormone treatments that can lead to chemical castration, as well as surgeries like mastectomy, phalloplasty, and vaginoplasty. Walz made his state a sanctuary for this barbarism without the people’s approval, just the stroke of a pen.

On this same path, at the end of the 2023 state legislative session, he signed 72 radical bills into law, including no-limit abortions into the state constitution and deleting specific language that would prevent pedophiles from seeking anti-discrimination protections. Walz also signed a bill that required school districts to stock male bathrooms with period products. He raised taxes, ushered in red-flag gun laws, and gave illegal immigrants driver’s licenses.

These policies aren’t even left of center; they are as far-left as one can possibly get. There is no mistaking what Harris wants for her party and America. It’s not to bring everyone together or govern the country in a way that uplifts all Americans. She wants to usher in a new America where policing is demonized and criminals run free, where healthcare is classified as murder and mutilation, and illegal immigration is the law of the land.

Harris could have chosen a more moderate (at least on the outside) candidate like Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, but she didn’t because the far left wing of her party felt like he was a risky choice. Her message is loud and clear. If she gets into office, the radical left-wing will control every aspect of her policy-making and cackle at the sounds of your displeasure. American values will be discarded. Together, they’ll create a new America that erases the American Dream with Socialism and Communism.

It’s officially the ‘Party of Patriots’ versus the ‘Party of Traitors’ on November 5th, 2024

“There are but two parties now: traitors and patriots. And I want hereafter to be ranked with the latter and, I trust, the stronger party.” — Ulysses S. Grant.

Well now we know that Kamal Harris, a Marxist traitor, has chosen as her running mate Tim Walz, a Marxist traitor.

So we the people now have a clear choice between “Party of Patriots” or “Party of Traitors” on November 5th, 2024!

Here are three videos that tell we the people who Kamala is now on the Party of Traitors ticket.

The Bottom Line

In her book Atlas Shrugged, written in 1957, Ayn Rand, “When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing — When you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors, — When you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you — When you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice — You may know that your society is doomed.”

Which party are you voting for? The Party of the Traitors or the Party of the Patriots?

Your vote will determine the future of our Constutional Republic. Our lives, liberties and pursuits of happiness depends on it.

Do want a free America or a Venezuelan style dictatorship?

GET A BRAIN

Strong evidence exists to claim our educational systems has failed; not in the process of failing but failed. Couple this apparent fact with a breakdown in large numbers of families no longer requiring children to learn to be critical thinkers, problem solvers and maturing into responsible individuals preparing to assume positions in society to help protect and maintain the gifts given to us by our founders, as well as celebrate the uniqueness which is America compared to the rest of the world.

Ponder for a moment…if America is so racist, bigoted, closed-minded and cynical about anything new why are so many people wanting to come into this country? If MAGA is such an arrogant and destructive force what should be said about our founders and the colonists who spoke and acted like present-day MAGA supporters? But to even discuss such a concept much less endorse something so “radical” as MAGA requires A BRAIN. Yes…individual thinking is actively and aggressively discouraged, mocked and replaced with “group thought.”

The public education system no longer requires teachers helping students to become thinkers, to become analytical and problem solvers. To accomplish such requires A BRAIN and they seem to be in short supply; unless you know where to go and get one. I am humbled to present below the link by which you may go and get yourself A BRAIN if you are in such need. But then again that decision requires some thought in itself. Wow…the complexity of it all!

Anyway…for those reading who have a moment of clarity to see they really need A BRAIN, watch the below video and view the commercial. You will be glad you did, and you can thank me later.

For those reading who have A BRAIN, please help your friends and acquaintances who do not have A BRAIN.

How will JD Vance balance the ticket with Donald Trump?

The November presidential election is less than four months away, meaning Americans are deep in the throes of the veepstakes. You know, that favorite game of pundits, politicos and political junkies who, every four years, obsess over the presidential candidates’ choice for vice president.

The Democratic ticket is, as of this writing, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. No mystery there regarding the vice presidential pick. Former President Donald Trump ended months of speculation when he announced on July 15, 2024, that his running mate is JD Vance, a first-term U.S. senator from Ohio.

The 39-year-old politician rose to fame when “Hillbilly Elegy,” his 2016 autobiography about his hardscrabble upbringing in a poor, Rust Belt town in Ohio, vaulted him to the bestseller list.

Trump’s short list was reportedly narrowed down to three candidates – Vance, fellow Sen. Marco Rubio and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum. Trump announced his final decision on the first day of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

I am a political scientist who has studied veepstakes media coverage.

The conventional wisdom is that the vice presidential pick has to be someone who can help win the election by delivering a key state or voting bloc.

But what matters most to voters, according to my research, and to the future of this country is finding someone who is well qualified to serve as vice president – and president, if necessary.

What the media get wrong

Veepstakes media coverage deserves its poor reputation as little more than an electoral parlor game. Too bad: Given the vice presidency’s importance and the media’s opportunity to educate Americans about who could be next to serve in the office, it should be so much more than that. This is the conclusion from my 2023 book, “News Media Coverage of the Vice-Presidential Selection Process: What’s Wrong with the ‘Veepstakes?’

I used data from presidential elections from 2000 through 2020 to conduct the first systematic analysis of veepstakes media coverage. For each competitive vice presidential selection process during that time — five for Democrats, four for Republicans — I studied 10 “veepstakes guides.”

This means articles or other news features from major media outlets, such as The New York Times, CNN and Fox News, profiling numerous vice presidential contenders. Typically, these profiles break down the perceived advantages and disadvantages associated with choosing a certain candidate.

Journalists and their editors decide which criteria to consider when making those evaluations. This allows me to characterize the media’s messages about what is important when selecting a vice presidential candidate.

So, if 75% of the profiles of potential Democratic running mates in 2020 mentioned age, but only 40% mentioned political experience, I would conclude that media coverage, in general, portrayed age as a more relevant selection criterion than experience.

What does the evidence show?

Veepstakes media coverage tends to focus on whether a potential running mate can help win the election – not on who can help the president govern once in office.

From 2000 to 2016, for example, 73% of the vice presidential candidate profiles referenced the candidates’ home state, race, age, gender or social class as a reason to select or reject them.

Whether a candidate was qualified to serve in the White House attracted much less attention. Just half as many veepstakes profiles – approximately 38% – discussed the candidates’ political experience, working relationship with the presidential candidate or, more generally, whether they were up to the job of being vice president or president.

In fact, I found that journalists are more likely to discuss a potential running mate’s physical appearance than whether he or she is qualified to serve as vice president.

A potential vice presidential candidate’s political or professional experience gets even less media coverage in the run-up to a close election. Only when the outcome seems like a foregone conclusion do journalists spend about as much time weighing a potential running mate’s governing capacities as their electoral appeal. Choosing a well-qualified vice president is treated as a luxury that only some presidential candidates can afford.

Unfortunately, I think the country has been seeing the same type of veepstakes coverage in 2024 as in previous elections: fevered speculation about who can deliver an election victory, with some occasional commentary on who can serve effectively as vice president.

How to get it right

The problem with veepstakes media coverage, generally speaking, is that it overstates the vice presidential candidate’s influence on voters and understates the importance of electing a well-qualified vice president.

Vice presidents have little in the way of formal constitutional powers. They break ties in the Senate. And in what used to be a simple ceremonial function, they also open and count the states’ electoral votes after a presidential election.

They are also first in line to take over as president, if necessary.

But over the past half-century, vice presidents have gained a great deal of informal power, too. In most administrations, they serve as top presidential advisers who play key roles in many major decisions. It is therefore important for presidential candidates to choose a running mate who can help them govern once in office.

Choosing a well-qualified running mate is also a good electoral strategy. My co-author, Kyle C. Kopko, and I demonstrate this in our 2020 book, “Do Running Mates Matter? The Influence of Vice Presidential Candidates in Presidential Elections.” Voters reward presidential candidates for selecting someone with the experience necessary to serve as vice president by more favorably rating their judgment and delivering greater support at the polls.

Trump could have reaped this benefit if he had chosen Rubio or Burgum.

The opposite is true when selecting a less experienced or poorly qualified vice president in a desperate bid for votes – think Sarah Palin in 2008. That strategy backfires, as Trump might find out after choosing Vance, a freshman senator who took office in January 2023.

In short, running mates mostly have an indirect effect on how people vote by influencing what they think of the presidential candidates. Rarely does the choice of a vice president have direct or targeted effects on voting. That is to say, very few people change their vote simply because they like the vice president or come from the same state or demographic group.

The media’s role

A free press is vital to democracy in the U.S. Among other things, it can serve the American people – not to mention presidential campaigns – by helping to provide relevant information about contenders for the vice presidency before they join a party ticket or get elected to office.

Informative news articles can provide answers to the most important questions: What are the potential running mate’s qualifications? What strengths will he or she bring to the White House? If elected, would the new president and vice president work well together?

My research suggests that this is the standard to which journalists and their audiences should aspire to as Vance joins Trump on the Republican ticket. This is a consequential choice that requires serious, substantive analysis. You can pay attention to those who treat it as such – and ignore those who don’t.

Trump Will Get Final Word At CNN Debate After Coin Flip

Former President Donald Trump will have the final words in the first presidential debate, CNN announced Thursday.

President Joe Biden’s campaign won the coin toss and chose to pick where Biden would stand on the stage. Trump’s campaign then got to choose who spoke last.

“Former President Donald Trump will get the final word when he debates President Joe Biden on CNN next week, after a coin flip to determine podium placement and the order of closing statements. The coin landed on the Biden campaign’s pick — tails — which meant his campaign got to choose whether it wanted to select the president’s podium position or the order of closing statements,” CNN, which is hosting the debate, said in a statement.

Ahead of the debate, the two campaigns agreed to terms, such as microphones being cut off when it is not that person’s turn to speak, no live audience and pre-written notes, and two commercial breaks.

“Biden’s campaign chose to select the right podium position, which means the Democratic president will be on the right side of television viewers’ screens and his Republican rival will be on viewers’ left. Trump’s campaign then chose for the former president to deliver the last closing statement, which means Biden will go first at the conclusion of the debate,” they continued.

Meanwhile, during the debate, many of Trump’s potential picks for vice president will be at a watch party hosted by the Republican National Committee (RNC) and former Republican Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler. Republican South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, who is also reportedly a potential pick for vice president, will reportedly be attending the debate with Trump.

AI Chatbots Are Already Interfering In Elections

Leftist Democrats at OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini 1.0 Pro are writing the AI code.

How AI Chatbots Are Already Interfering In Elections

By: M.D. Kittle, The Federalist, June 13, 2024

The tech titans and bureaucrats producing and regulating artificial intelligence also have created a deficit of trust.

If you’re looking to artificial intelligence for answers to election-related questions, chances are you’re getting the wrong answers. A study by data analytics firm GroundTruthAI found that the most widely used chatbots, including OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini 1.0 Pro, provided incorrect information more than a quarter of the time.

“Researchers sent 216 unique questions to Google’s Gemini 1.0 Pro and OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 Turbo, GPT-4, GPT-4 Turbo and GPT-4o between May 21 and May 31 about voting, the 2024 election and the candidates. Some questions were asked multiple times over that time period, generating a total of 2,784 responses,” NBC News reported.

“According to their analysis, Google’s Gemini 1.0 Pro initially responded with correct answers just 57% of the time. OpenAI’s GPT-4o, which is the latest version of the [learning] model, answered correctly 81% of the time.”

All told, the five chatbots answered incorrectly 27 percent of the time. What kind of questions are we talking about? Pretty important ones for November’s extremely important presidential election.

Asked, “Can I register to vote on Election Day in Pennsylvania?,” the GroundTruthAI study found two of the AI models replied yes. Wrong. The last day to register to vote in the Keystone State before the Tuesday, Nov. 5 general election is Oct. 21., according to the Pennsylvania Department of State.

Speaking of Election Day, the models were unable to correctly answer, “How many days are left before the 2024 General Election in the United States?” NBC News reported. AI math is hard.

“Most of the time, it was not, ‘Oh, it keeps getting that same question wrong.’ It was three out of four times it got it wrong, or three out of four times it got it right,” GroundTruthAI CEO Andrew Eldredge-Martin told the news outlet. “But there was that fourth time, it just got it wrong. And that type of inconsistency suggests to me that these models don’t really know this information.”

That’s worrisome.

Eldredge-Martin previously worked for Democrat political campaigns and left-leaning organizations. “In 2020, he led the more than $30 million digital paid media campaign for Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign, using ad analytics to inform overall campaign strategy and resource allocation throughout the early states and into Super Tuesday,” his professional bio notes.

He says he’s “helped elect” Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden, and U.S. Senators Raphael Warnock, Mark Kelly, Jeanne Shaheen, and Tammy Duckworth. Eldredge-Martin told NBC News his new startup is “independent and nonpartisan, and the study used the same questions for both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.”

‘I’m Okay With It’: Donald Trump Says He Is Prepared For Jail Sentence

Former President Donald Trump stated Sunday on Fox News he is prepared for a jail sentence following his guilty verdict in the New York falsified business records case.

Trump appeared on “FOX and Friends Sunday” to discuss his upcoming sentencing which is scheduled for July 11. As Fox co-host Pete Hegseth talked about the possibilities of what Trump’s sentence could look like, he asked the former president about the chance of jail time.

“I’m okay with it. I saw one of my lawyers the other day on television saying, ‘Oh no you don’t want to do that to the [president.]’ I said, ‘You don’t beg for anything. It’s just the way it is.’ Think of it, they have all my books,” Trump stated.

“They went to — for five years they sued me [for] getting my tax returns. At the end of five years, they got ’em. The Supreme Court actually gave it to them, that was the end of it. That was it, they never found anything. They hired the best accounting firms. I had a pure gold firm, they call it gold-rated firm, I don’t know what it’s supposed to be — who knows. But with all that, for years you heard about my tax [returns] —”

“They never looked into the Clinton foundation,” Fox co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy jumped in.

“And they never found it. They never went all the way with the Clinton foundation. They never went all the way with the Clinton foundation. Which is sort of interesting, isn’t it? So that could happen. I don’t know that the public would stand it, you know? I’m not sure the public would stand for it,” Trump responded. “I think it would be tough for the public to take. At a certain point there’s a breaking point.”

Last week, Trump was found guilty on all 34 felony counts brought forward by Manhattan  Democratic District Attorney Alvin Bragg who claimed that the former President falsified business records over a nondisclosure payment to porn star Stormy Daniels following the 2016 election. As Bragg declined to answer what punishment the prosecution will be seeking during a press conference after the verdict, Trump’s attorney Todd Blanche teased what the defense team may be arguing in their appeal.

During an interview with CNN, Blanche called out the bias of having the trial in New York City, noting how during jury selections many were not allowed to move forward due to their bias against the former president. Others have also called out presiding Judge Juan Merchan’s $35 donation to Democrats in 2020.

Merchan, according to federal election records, donated three times in July 2020 through a Democratic online fundraising platform called ActBlue. The payments by Merchan were earmarked as a $15 donation to Biden, a $10 donation to Democrat outreach organization called Progressive Turnout Project, and another $10 donation to a subsidiary organization of Progressive Turnout Project called Stop Republicans.

Nothing, and I Mean Nothing, Can Stop Trump!

In the annals of American history, moments of undeniable momentum and change are marked by a singular certainty: Nothing can stop what is coming. Such is the case as we stand on the precipice of a transformative period in our nation’s journey. The echoes of past struggles and triumphs resonate through the corridors of power, yet the future beckons with a promise of renewal and rebirth.

Let us venture bravely into the heart of the storm, wading into the forces shaping our destiny, and give a big salute to the indomitable spirit that fuels the march towards a brighter tomorrow. Amidst all these clashes and cacophony, one truth emerges clear and unyielding: The momentum of progress cannot be halted.

Let’s face it: In the face of adversity, Donald J. Trump stands tall, unyielding in the face of a rigged political witch hunt. This false conviction on charges stemming from an unjust trial marks a pivotal moment in American history, one that is more than a raging debate within the nation. Amidst the turmoil, Trump’s resilience and unwavering commitment to his principles shine through for the millions of Americans who share his vision for the future.

The trial that has led to Trump’s conviction has been met with skepticism and controversy all around, with a big question mark on its fairness and impartiality. It is beyond mere assertion that the proceedings were part of a more extensive political witch hunt, and the entire ordeal is nothing short of a politically motivated attempt to silence him. The raids on his home, the arrest, and the subsequent conviction all lead to outrage and disbelief, fueling fears of a two-tiered justice system where the powerful are exempt from the laws they enforce upon others.

Amidst the chaos, Trump’s call to action is clear and compelling. We all have to rally behind him to push back against an unprecedented attack on the freedoms of countless Americans. His words are a rallying cry, a clarion call to unite and fight for the values he believes define America’s greatness. Once again, with the White House within reach, Trump is asking us to stand shoulder to shoulder with him to ensure that Biden understands the strength and resolve of those who oppose him.

Trump’s vision for America is unity, strength, and prosperity. He promises to lead the charge against what he perceives as the forces seeking to undermine the nation’s very fabric. By uniting under his banner, Trump believes that his supporters can turn the tide, ensuring that Joe Biden’s chances of securing a second term come to an abrupt end. This is not merely a battle for the presidency; it is a struggle for the soul of America to ensure that the country remains true to its founding principles.

The choice is evident as we stand on the brink of a historic moment. Will we allow the voices of dissent and division to drown out the calls for unity and strength? Or will we rise to the occasion, standing firm with Donald J. Trump as he fights to reclaim the White House and restore America to its rightful place as a beacon of hope and opportunity for the world?

This is our moment. This is our chance to make history. With Trump at the helm, leading the charge against injustice and for the preservation of American ideals, we have the opportunity to ensure that Joe Biden regrets ever challenging the will of the people. Together, we can make America great again.

The spirit of the American people shines brightest. As we approach the critical moment of truth on November 5th, the real power lies not in the halls of justice or the chambers of Congress but in the hands of every voter nationwide. Joe Biden and the Democrats may seek to manipulate the narrative and use trial outcomes to sway public opinion. Still, the accurate measure of a leader—and the fate of our nation—will be determined by the will of the people at the ballot box.

This election is not just another vote but a referendum on the essence of what America stands for. It tests whether we will allow the political elite to dictate our destiny or if we, the citizens, will take control of our future. The choice before us is stark: continue down the path of division and mistrust or unite behind a leader who promises to restore the pillars of strength, freedom, and prosperity that made America great.

Donald Trump has stood firm against the challenges thrown at him, refusing to be silenced or deterred from his mission to Make America Great Again. Now, it falls to us – the voters – to echo his call to action. On November 5th, let us send a resounding message to Washington: We will not be swayed by sham trials or manipulated by political games. Our verdict will be cast in ballots, and we will choose our path forward together.

Vote Trump. Stand with him. Let our collective voice be heard, loud and clear, as we reaffirm our commitment to the principles that bind us Americans. This is our moment to seize, our chance to shape the future. United, we can ensure that Joe Biden and the Democrats understand that America’s true power resides with its people and that on November 5th, we will make our voices heard.

‘My Goodness’: CNN Data Guru Breaks Down How Bad Biden Is Doing With Black Voters

CNN data reporter Harry Enten outlined Friday how President Joe Biden is underperforming with black voters in polling regarding the upcoming presidential election.

A New York Times/Siena College poll released Monday showed Biden trailing former President Donald Trump in five out of six swing states, with Trump receiving 18% support from likely black voters in a head-to-head matchup compared to 70% for Biden. Enten broke down how Biden is faring in an average of polls, warning that the numbers are a “troubling sign.”

“I think this is, the real thing, is sort of the drop-off, right?” Enten told “CNN News Central” host Sara Sidner. “Look, you look at 2024, Biden still leads among black voters over Donald Trump, 69% in an average of polls. But look at this number for Donald Trump, 22%, where was Donald Trump at this point four years ago? In the polls, he was just at 9% of the votes. So he’s seen more than a doubling in his support among African Americans.”

WATCH:

“This margin, which was in the 70s just four years ago, look at where it is now, 69 minus 22. That puts it in the 40s. My goodness gracious,” Enten said. “If this held through the general election, obviously we’re still months away, this would be by far the best performance for Republican candidate among black voters in a generation, two generations, probably since 1960 and Richard Nixon against John Kennedy, that’s how long we’re really talking about when we’re looking at this margin here. This could be a truly historic margin. It’s quite a troubling sign for the Biden campaign.”

Trump currently leads Biden by 1.1% in the RealClearPolitics average of general election polls for a head-to-head matchup, with the lead growing to 2.7% when Green Party candidate Jill Stein and independent candidates Cornel West and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are included.

Enten then took a deeper dive into the numbers, noting a breakdown by age after Sidner asked where Biden was struggling among black voters.

“Who are these voters? And let’s break it down by age, because I really think this gives you a good insight into what’s exactly cookin’ here,” Enten said. “Take a look here. If you look among black voters age 50 and over, you’ll see that Joe Biden has a very substantial lead here. Look at this at 82% to 8%, this lead is still in the 70s. This looks a lot like what we saw in the overall polling back in 2020.”

“Well, look at voters under the age of 50. Look here, Donald Trump is pulling 25% of that vote: Joe Biden as it just 62% of this, this lead’s, Sarah, this lead is just south of 40 percentage points,” Enten continued. “This is historic. This is what a lot of folks been talking about that Joe Biden has a specific problem among younger black voters, and that is exactly what’s showing up right here and this is, I think, a lot of the reason why you‘re going to see Biden focusing more on black voters.”

Several black voters told an MSNBC panel that they were considering voting for Trump due to the economy, while “Breakfast Club” host Charlamagne Tha God told The New York Times that black voters saw “tangible things” from Trump, citing stimulus checks and the First Step Act.
