Democrats Shove Biden Out Of DNC Primetime For Last Gasp Of Presidency

President Joe Biden took the Democratic National Convention stage well past his scheduled primetime slot to cap off a night meant to honor his legacy.

The DNC ran considerably behind schedule, leading the president to be booted from his primetime speaking slot to appear close to midnight on the east coast. The first night of the convention was full of speakers who dedicated their speeches to Biden’s four years in office, his decision to pick Vice President Kamala Harris as his running mate and his choice to end his 2024 reelection bid. An emotional Biden himself made a nod to the theme throughout his speech, praising Harris as he was repeatedly interrupted by “thank you, Joe” chants.

“It’s been the honor of my lifetime to serve as your president. I love the job, but I love my country more. All this talk about how I’m angry at all the people who said I should step down — it’s not true. I love my country more, and we need to preserve our democracy in 2024. We need you to vote. We need you to keep the Senate and the House of Representatives. And above all, we need you to beat Donald Trump,” Biden said before wrapping his speech up after midnight. It lasted nearly an hour.

As the speakers leading up to Biden on the schedule began dragging on and on, speculation swirled about how and why the president had been shoved aside to speak when many Americans would already be asleep.

“This is awful. He literally set up a campaign and handed it over to them — do they have to cut him out of prime time?” one longtime Biden aide texted Axios reporter Alex Thompson.

First Lady Jill Biden and her time in the White House was also prominent throughout the night, as delegates throughout the United Center held up “JILL” signs whenever the president’s wife was mentioned. The first lady briefly primed the audience for her husband’s speech just after 11 p.m., nearly an hour after she was set to originally take the stage.

“When he stops on a rope line because he sees someone grieving who needs to know that everything will be alright one day — or to encourage that child with a stutter to find the confidence she needs — those moments are when I’m reminded of all he’s accomplished in the name of something bigger than himself; receiving the Medal of Freedom with humility, placing his hand on our family Bible to take his oath of office,” the first lady said.

“And weeks ago, when I saw him dig deep into his soul, and decide to no longer seek re-election and endorse Kamala Harris,” she continued in remarks that lasted just about five minutes. It was widely reported that Biden was, in fact, strong-armed out of the presidential race by Democratic Party elders like Nancy Pelosi.

The push for Biden to drop out of the presidential race began after his June 27 debate performance against former President Donald Trump, where he was stumbling through answers and looked confused on stage. Democrats across the party reacted to the event with concern about the 81-year-old’s fitness and ability to push through a second term.

In the weeks following the debates, stories were leaked about the president’s health, doctor appointments and his slips and gaffes behind closed doors. White House aides told Axios that the president is “dependably engaged” between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., but outside those hours, is more susceptible to “verbal miscues” and fatigue.

Renowned pollster Nate Silver was one of many who speculated that the delay in Biden’s speech was to decrease his visibility as the party shifts its focus to Harris.

“The media is very East Coast focused though, you’ve gotta be pretty naive to think the prolonged DNC tonight is for any reason other than diminishing Biden’s visibility,” Silver tweeted.

Four weeks after the mounting pressure from allies forced him out, the president took the convention stage to a thunderous round of applause as he cheered on Harris in her race for the White House.

After Biden listed his administration’s accomplishments, “thank you, Joe” chants broke out again. “Thank you, Kamala, too!” Biden added.

Let me ask you. Are you ready to elect Kamala Harris and Tim Walz?” Biden asked delegates shortly after taking the stage.

Biden to Black Graduates: ‘America Hates You’

Straight up racism. And projection.

Morehouse produces some of America’s greatest minds.

MLK. Fulbright, Rhodes, and Marshall scholars.

Yet Biden is so racist he sees all Black Americans as the same. And on their day of celebration, Biden lectures and lies to them how their country hates them.

Biden is a pathetic, pandering lowlife. (Mike David on X)

Biden to Morehouse Graduates: America Hates You

As his black support erodes, he plays up racial resentments to the class of 2024.

The polls say President Biden has lost support among black Americans, and the White House appears to have settled on a strategy to win them back: spread more racial division. That’s the main message from the President’s dishonorable commencement address Sunday at storied Morehouse College in Atlanta.

By: Wall Street Journal, May 21, 2024:

Mr. Biden naturally offered the 2024 graduates a list of what he sees as his accomplishments for black Americans. He indulged in his familiar gilded personal history as a civil-rights crusader. He gave the impression that the Delaware Democratic Party was a racist operation until Sen. Joe Biden came along. At least that’s the somewhat forgivable politics of self-aggrandizement.

Less forgivable was the President’s attempt to stir resentment among the graduates on what should be a day to appreciate what they accomplished and to inspire hope for the future. Here’s what Mr. Biden said instead:

“You started college just as George Floyd was murdered and there was a reckoning on race. It’s natural to wonder if democracy you hear about actually works for you.

“What is democracy if black men are being killed in the street?

“What is democracy if a trail of broken promises still leave black—black communities behind?

“What is democracy if you have to be 10 times better than anyone else to get a fair shot?

“And most of all, what does it mean, as we’ve heard before, to be a black man who loves his country even if it doesn’t love him back in equal measure?”

Thanks for the uplift, Mr. President. Since Mr. Biden is asking questions, is this what he wants these young graduates to believe about their country—that American democracy is defined by its racial animosity, as if they still live in the Jim Crow South?

As others have noted, imagine working hard for four years to graduate and on a day of celebration for you and your families the President of the United States sends you off with a message that your countrymen who are white want you to fail. Is this what President Biden thinks of America?

Democratic Rhetoric Takes A Perilous Turn For The Jews

In an appearance this week on MSNBC, veteran Democratic political strategist James Carville made a stunning statement. Speaking of the uncommitted vote in Michigan, Carville said that it will be Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s fault if Biden loses the election in November.

“There is a problem all across the country [with Democratic voters who will punish Biden if he continues to support Israel] and I hope that the President and [Secretary of State Antony] Blinken can get this thing calmed down, because if it don’t [sic.] get calmed down before the Democratic convention in Chicago it’s going to be a very ugly time in Chicago. I promise you that. They’re gonna have to tell Bibi Netanyahu, ‘Hey dude, we’re not gonna lose our election because you’re scared to go to jail.”

Carville’s bit about jail was part of a larger conspiracy theory that he has been peddling since shortly after the Hamas-led Palestinian invasion of southern Israel on Oct. 7. That theory has it that Netanyahu only decided to wage a war to eradicate Hamas to deflect public attention from his criminal trial. Beyond the obscenity of the contention itself, the fact is that since Netanyahu’s trial opened two years ago, the prosecution’s entire case has fallen apart. But the new wrinkle that Carville incorporated is that it will be Israel’s fault if Biden loses.

Carville is far from alone in making this claim. Pro-Hamas Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) is one of its most outspoken champions. Ahead of the Michigan primary last Tuesday, Tlaib led a campaign of pro-Hamas Muslims and progressives to convince like-minded Michiganders to vote “Uncommitted” to show their opposition to what they perceive as Biden’s support for Israel in its war against Hamas.

Others, including academics, have piled onto the bandwagon. For instance, New York University professor Mohamad Bazzi wrote in The Guardian last week that Biden is risking reelection by not reining in Netanyahu. In his words, “While Biden complains about the petulant Israeli leader who won’t listen, his presidency is now at risk. It’s a self-inflicted wound that Biden would have avoided by standing up to Netanyahu months ago.”

The allegation that Netanyahu is going to cost Biden the election because of his unwillingness to end the war with Hamas without victory is absurd for three reasons. First, the Michigan primary showed the emptiness of the threat. For more than a month, the media provided around-the-clock coverage of calls by Tlaib and her Hamas-supporting partners for Muslims and progressives in Michigan to vote “Uncommitted.” But in the end, Biden won 81.1% of the vote and only 13.2% of Michigan voters voted “uncommitted.”

While 13.2% is being presented as a major achievement, it is anything but significant. It isn’t clear what portion of the 13.2% voted “Uncommitted” out of support for Hamas, for one thing. Around the same percentage of primary voters regularly vote “Uncommitted” in Democratic presidential primaries. For instance, when then-President Barack Obama was running unopposed for re-election in 2012, 11% of Michigan primary voters voted “Uncommitted.”

Beyond that, the Harvard-Harris poll of U.S. opinion on Israel’s war with Hamas, which was published the day of the primary, showed that 82% of Americans support Israel compared to 18% who support Hamas. The implications are clear. Both the election results and the Harvard-Harris poll demonstrated that Tlaib and her pro-Hamas supporters do not have the political weight to throw a presidential election.

The claim that support for Israel will cost Biden the election is also fatuous because Tlaib and her supporters are bluffing. Donald Trump was the most pro-Israel president in history, and they know it. They will not enable him to return by refusing to support Biden. Tlaib admitted this herself at a press conference on Thursday.

“It’s really important for folks to understand: I am incredibly, incredibly scared of a second term for Trump. And I think it’s really important to emphasize this,” she said.

Trump Challenges ‘Cognitively-Impaired’ Biden to Debate

Former President Donald Trump has challenged incumbent Joe Biden to a debate. “It is important, for the Good of our Country, that Joe Biden and I Debate Issues that are so vital to America, and the American People,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Therefore, I am calling for Debates, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE!” The 45th president added, “The Debates can be run by the Corrupt DNC, or their Subsidiary, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD). I look forward to receiving a response.”

The Biden campaign did respond. Campaign Communications Director Michael Tyler said in a Wednesday statement, “I know Donald Trump’s thirsty for attention and struggling to expand his appeal beyond the MAGA base — and that’s a conversation we’ll have at the appropriate time in this cycle.” He added, “But if he’s so desperate to see President Biden in prime time, he doesn’t have to wait! He can join the tens of millions of Americans who will tune in to watch the State of the Union tomorrow night.”

Trump had previously announced that he would be sharing his live “play-by-play” of Biden’s State of the Union address. Trump berated the Democratic President for arriving late (“VERY DISRESPECTFUL TO OUR COUNTRY!”) and corrected Biden’s comments on everything from the Russia-Ukraine conflict to January 6 to the ongoing border crisis. “He looks so angry when he’s talking, which is a trait of people who know they are ‘losing it,’” Trump commented. “The anger and shouting is not helpful to bringing our Country back together!” The former president concluded, “That may be the Angriest, Least Compassionate, and Worst State of the Union Speech ever made. It was an Embarrassment to our Country!”

Trump’s debate challenge to Biden follows growing concerns among voters over the president’s age and cognitive capabilities. A recent Harvard CAPS/Harris poll showed that over two thirds of voters (including 40% of Democrats) think that Biden is “too old to be President” and about 60% think that Biden is not “mentally fit” for office. An Emerson College/The Hill survey published last month found that almost 60% of Michigan voters harbor concerns over Biden’s age. That number leapt to over 60% when only voters under the age of 50 were polled. Even the typically-left-wing comedy show “Saturday Night Live” featured a recent sketch mocking Democratic Party leadership for claiming Biden isn’t too old. Media personalities and Democrats alike have been showing concern over Biden’s age for months now.

Just last month, Special Counsel Robert Hur determined that Biden did in fact commit crimes and jeopardize national security in his keeping and handling of classified documents from his time as U.S. senator and vice president, but refused to bring charges due to the president’s cognitive decline. Hur characterized Biden as “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” and explained that, due to his advanced age, “It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him.”

Trump and Republicans have repeatedly noted Biden’s advanced age and dementia symptoms as cause for concern. In a recent interview, Trump said that Biden is “in bad shape,” continuing, “I think he’s cognitively impaired, and he’s certainly physically impaired. He can’t walk off a stage. He can’t walk up a flight of stairs, you know, three stairs. And he can never find his way. He can never find the stairs. He can’t put two sentences together…”

Pro-Trump super PAC Make America Great Again, Inc. released an ad ahead of Thursday night’s State of the Union address, featuring footage of Biden silently struggling to remember what he was going to say while hosting a press conference, followed by images of the president tripping and falling on stairs and wandering aimlessly off stage after a speech. The ad asks, “If Biden wins, can he even survive till 2029?” U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) debuted a similar ad, listing Biden’s numerous failures and featuring footage of the 81-year-old Democrat eating ice cream, blinking and stammering during speeches, and tripping and falling on the stairs to Air Force One, emblazoned with the caption, “Three years of decline.”

Biden screamed at America. See how America responds from the kitchen table.

It was angry.

It was incoherent.

It was insulting.

If this is the State of the Union, then America is in deep trouble.

Bless Alabama’s Junior Senator Katie Britt‘s heart.

Here’s Katie’s common sense response from America’s kitchen table:

TRANSCRIPT

Good evening America. My name is Katie Britt.

I am proud to represent the great state of Alabama in the United States Senate. However, that’s not the job that matters most. I am the proud wife and mom of two, school-aged kids, my daughter Bennett and my son Ridgeway are why I ran for Senate. I’m worried about the future and the future of children in every corner of our nation, and that’s why I invited you into our home tonight.

Like so many families across America, my husband Wesley and I just watched President Biden’s State of the Union address from our living room. And what we saw was a performance of a permanent politician who has actually been in office for longer than I’ve been alive. One thing was quite clear though: President Biden just doesn’t get it. He’s out of touch. Under his administration families are worse off, our communities are less safe, and our country is less secure. I just wish he understood what real families are facing around kitchen tables just like this one.

You know, this is where our family has tough conversations, it’s where we make hard decisions. It’s where we share the good, the bad, and the ugly of our days. It’s where we laugh together, and it’s where we hold each other’s hands and pray for God’s guidance. And many nights, to be honest, it’s where Wesley and I worry. I know we are not alone. And so tonight the American family needs to have a tough conversation. Because the truth is, we’re all worried about the future of our nation. The country we know and love seems to be slipping away, and it feels like the next generation will have few opportunities and less freedoms than we did. I worry my own children may not even get a shot at living their American Dreams.

My American Dream allowed me, the daughter of two small-business owners from rural Enterprise, Alabama to be elected to the United States Senate at the age of 40. Growing up, sweeping the floor at my dad’s hardware store and cleaning the bathroom of my mom’s dance studio, I never could have imagined what my story would entail. To think what the American Dream can do across just one generation, and just one lifetime—it’s truly breathtaking.

But, right now the American Dream has turned into a nightmare for so many families. The true, unvarnished state of our union begins and ends with this: Our families are hurting. Our country can do better. And you don’t have to look any further than the crisis at our Southern border to see it.

President Biden inherited the most secure border of all time. But minutes after taking office he suspended all deportations, he halted construction of the border wall, and he announced a plan to give amnesty to millions. We know that President Biden didn’t just create this border crisis, he invited it with 94 executive actions in his first 100 days. When I took office I took a different approach. I traveled to the Del Rio sector of Texas. That’s when I spoke to a woman who shared her story of me. She had been trafficked by the cartels starting at the age of 12. She told me not just that she was raped every day, but how many times a day she was raped. The cartels put her on a mattress in a shoebox of a room and they sent men through that door over and over again for hours and hours on end. We wouldn’t be okay with this happening in a third-world country. This is the United States of America and it is past time, in my opinion, that we start acting like it.

President Biden’s border policies are a disgrace. This crisis is despicable. And the truth is It is almost entirely preventable. From Fentanyl poisonings to horrific murders, there are empty chairs tonight at kitchen tables just like this one because of President Biden’s senseless border policies.

Just think about Laken Riley, in my neighboring state of Georgia. This beautiful, 22-year-old nursing student went out on a jog one morning and she never got the opportunity to return home. She was brutally murdered by one of the millions of illegal border crossers President Biden chose to release into our homeland. You know, as a mom, I can’t quit thinking about this. I mean, this could have been my daughter; this could have been yours. And tonight, President Biden finally said her name. But he refused to take responsibility for his own actions. Mr. President, enough is enough. Innocent Americans are dying and you only have yourself to blame. Fulfill your oath of office, reverse your policies, end this crisis, and stop the suffering.

Sadly, we know that President Biden’s failures don’t stop there. His reckless spending downed our economy into a hole and sent the cost of living through the roof. We have the worst inflation in 40 years and the highest credit card debt in our nation’s history. Let that sink in. Hard working families are struggling to make ends meet today. And with soaring mortgage rates and sky high childcare cost, they’re also struggling to have a plan for tomorrow. The American people are scraping by while President Biden proudly proclaims that Bidenomics is working.

Goodness ya’ll! Bless his heart. We. Know. Better.

Massive Protest Vote Sucks The Wind Out Of Biden’s Michigan Primary Victory

President Joe Biden won the Michigan Democratic primary Tuesday evening where 117 delegates were up for grabs, but faced a campaign that encouraged voters to support the “uncommitted” ballot option in protest to his handling of the war in Gaza, according to The Associated Press.

A group of Arab and Muslim American activists encouraged Michigan Democratic voters who oppose Biden’s support of Israel following the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attack to vote against the president in the primary to send a political message ahead of November. Still, Biden won over 78.8% of Democratic primary voters compared to the “uncommitted’s” 15.8%, and Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips secured 2.7% support, the AP projected at the time of writing.

Democratic lawmakers in the state have rallied around the “Listen To Michigan” campaign, which has encouraged voters to support the “uncommitted” ballot option rather than voting for Biden. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, whose sister, Layla Elabed, is the campaign manager for the group, has also endorsed the effort that views Biden’s support for Israel as “funding war and genocide in Gaza.”

Elabed’s 10,000 vote threshold to measure the “Listen To Michigan’s” success was surpassed, as over 20,000 individuals backed the “uncommitted” ballot option. The “uncommitted” ballot option has received a similar number of votes in recent cycles, but made up for only 1.2% of the share in 2020 and 1.8% in 2016.

The state has one of the largest populations of Arab and Muslim Americans in the country, with Dearborn, Michigan, accounting for a high concentration of the community. Michigan is home to roughly 200,000 registered Muslim voters, and approximately 145,000 participated in the 2020 election, according to the Michigan chapter of Emgage, which aims to boost Muslim turnout.

Biden only beat former President Donald Trump by 154,000 votes last cycle.

A similar effort, the Abandon Biden campaign, formed due to Biden’s refusal to call for a ceasefire in Gaza, and is urging Muslim Americans to vote for anyone but the president. The group is operating in Michigan and other battleground states like Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Trump also beat former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley 65.5% to 30.2% in the Michigan primary, according to the AP’s projection. Haley has yet to win a single nominating contest, and she lost her home state of South Carolina by roughly 20 points on Saturday.

The RealClearPolitics average for a potential 2024 rematch between Trump and Biden, based on polls conducted between Feb. 13 and Feb. 25, indicates the former president is leading by 2.1 points. Biden is also lagging behind in several crucial battleground states, including Michigan.
