PODCAST: Tearing Into Socialism

The worst products of socialism!

by Harry Fone

Over the years socialist countries have produced some truly abysmal products. When workers are stripped of economic incentives market signals are severely distorted. This blog highlights some of the worst goods and services ever produced by socialism.

Food… Go into any British supermarket and you’ll be confronted by a staggering amount of choice when it comes to food. There is something to suit all budgets and tastes. Contrast this to the Soviet Union, more specifically Ukraine, where collectivisation of food production was an instrumental factor in the death of nearly 4 million people. Furthermore when food was available there was only the state branded option, often in plain packaging and variety was a rare thing. Rationing in socialist countries is common (most recently in Venezuela) and people have to queue for hours just to buy basics such as bread, eggs and milk. It is not uncommon that shelves in supermarkets are completely empty. Quality of meat was often poor, with the first in line to receive the best cuts and everyone else had to make do with lower meat content skin and bones.

Beer… It’s bad enough not being able to find much to eat in a socialist country but imagine not even being able to enjoy a beer at the end of a long day. Well that’s exactly what happened in Venezuela, where they ran out of beer after the largest brewery, Cervecería Polar, could not acquire the ingredients to brew beer. Something to think about the next time you walk down the booze aisle at the supermarket that is festooned with almost endless choice and variety of alcoholic beverages.

Housing… Soviet era housing was a far cry from the standards we are used to in the West. People were often forced by the state to share small flats with people they hadn’t even met. All urban housing was state-controlled and there wasn’t enough for people to have their own homes. Tenants had little privacy in cramped facilities, often sharing one communal toilet. Residents were allocated 30 minutes per day to use the bathroom whilst their neighbours queued outside waiting to empty their grandchildren’s chamber pots. Whilst it’s fair to say we have a housing crisis in Britain, it is nothing compared to what many comrades had to endure in the USSR.

Cars…We Brits love our cars. After all we own nearly 40 million of them in total. Buying a car in this country is incredibly straightforward and with more choice than ever before. This was not the case back in the Soviet era, when everything from Trabants to Ladas inched off the production lines. Buyers would have to wait years for a new car. Once they did get their “cherished” motor, the build quality was often of woeful quality and poor design, as this video about the Yugo neatly explains. In fact, it was such a bad car that it was recalled in America because it produced too much pollution!

Planes… While the British and French were busy crafting Concorde the Soviet Union had their own plans for a supersonic passenger aircraft. On New Year’s Eve 1968 the Tupolev Tu-144 (more commonly known as “Konkordski”) made its maiden flight. Writing about the aircraft, author Howard Moon described early flights as “extremely unreliable”. During 102 flights and 181 hours of freight and passend flight time, the Tu-144S “suffered more than 226 failures, 80 of them in flight.”

One of the aircraft’s darkest days came on June 3rd 1973, when the first production model of the Tu-144S suffered a horrific crash, killing all 6 people on board and a further 8 on the ground. The plane did run passenger services across the Soviet Union, but passengers reported very high noise inside the cabin, meaning it was easier to communicate via hand-written notes rather than talking. Compare this to Concorde, where passengers drank Champagne and enjoyed fine dining in relative silence.

Phones…Even obtaining a relatively simple communications device such as a landline telephone was difficult. For example, in Soviet controlled Poland, “one could wait as long as 20 years” for a line to allocated and installed. The state had little incentive to install phones as it meant they had less control over the populace. A lack of communication reduced the risk of dissent and uprisings. Long before the invention of the internet, organising protests and rallies, especially off an anti-government nature, was a logistical nightmare. Today many countries have more mobile phones than they do people but not so in places like North Korea as the graphic illustrates.

FEDS DROP THE HAMMER: ANTIFA Groups Officially Designated FOREIGN TERROR ORGANIZATIONS For First Time

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the Trump Administration has designated four European Antifa groups as foreign terrorist organizations.

Marco Rubio:

Today, building on the President’s historic commitment to uproot Antifa’s campaign of political violence, the Department of State is designating four Antifa groups as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists. The United States will continue using all available tools to protect our nation from these anti-American, anti-capitalist, and anti-Christian terrorist groups. (Marco Rubio on X)

Foreign Terrorist Organization

  1. Money, supplies, training, travel assistance, hosting members, even sharing resources can trigger federal “material support for terrorism” charges—some of the most serious charges in U.S. law.
  2. Members and leaders become priority targets for U.S. intelligence

FTO designation allows:

  • surveillance
  • financial tracking
  • asset freezing
  • intelligence sharing with allies
  • covert and overt disruption operations
  • They’re treated the same way the U.S. treats ISIS, Hezbollah, IRGC, etc. in terms of investigative authority.

3. Their U.S.-based networks can be prosecuted

Even if the groups are European, anyone in the U.S. who collaborates with them—directly or indirectly—can be investigated and charged.

4. Visa bans and deportations

Foreign nationals associated with those groups: cannot enter the U.S.

Can be deported if already here

5. Financial chokehold

Banks are forbidden from handling money connected to designated groups.
Assets can be seized immediately.

6. Pressure on European governments

The U.S. designation forces EU/NATO allies to confront these groups—often more seriously than they were before.

So what does this mean?

It becomes a federal crime to provide any support to those groups

PODCAST: Rising Tide of Left-Wing Political Violence

The tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk is not merely the loss of a man, but the silencing of one of the most articulate defenders of faith, freedom, and America’s constitutional order. Charlie was a believer in God, and he recognized, as the Founders did, that liberty comes from Him, not from government.

That conviction made him a champion of the Constitution and of America’s unique tradition of opportunity for all. It also made him a target for those on the extreme Left who increasingly despise both God and freedom.

Unmasking Antifa’s Real Power: The Donors in the Shadows

Antifa acts like a chimera from ancient myth, a creature that shifts shape and survives every strike.

This loose constellation of anti-fascist groups has slipped through crackdowns for years. They move quickly from street clashes to online organizing or neighborhood aid projects.

Label one cell as a terrorist, and it breaks apart into smaller cells that continue the work.

Analysts at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) describe Antifa as “decentralized” and composed of “ad-hoc affinity groups” that form for an event and then fade away.

The Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (ACLED) calls it a “highly decentralized array of autonomous groups.”

After the 2020 riots, when Antifa was linked to violence in Portland and other cities, it went quieter, blending into mutual aid networks and digital forums, as noted in aligned Foundation for Defense of Democracies analyses.

This fluid structure allows it to dodge major hits, with federal arrests reaching only a few rioters among hundreds of cases.

Recent steps in Washington show that the fight is underway, but most measures still target the street-level actors.

In May 2024, House Republicans introduced the Unmasking Antifa Act (H.R. 8248), a bill that would make it a federal crime to wear masks or disguises during violent protests. Its aim is to expose the black-clad crowds that smash windows and clash with police.

President Trump, building on his 2024 campaign vows to designate Antifa as a terrorist organization, fulfilled the promise with a September 22, 2025, executive order labeling it a domestic terrorist threat.

In a September 2025 ABC News interview, he said he would treat Antifa like foreign terror groups, using counterterrorism tools to freeze assets and expand investigations.

FBI Director Kash Patel echoed this approach in Senate hearings, promising to prioritize “left-wing extremism” such as Antifa.

These proposals build on Trump’s 2020 directive that asked federal agencies to assess Antifa as a domestic threat, leading to limited arrests during the George Floyd protests. Critics warn that such steps risk overreach.

The Brennan Center argues that sweeping terrorism labels could target peaceful activists or journalists covering demonstrations. The ACLU has sued over similar mask laws, calling them instruments to chill dissent.

Still, Antifa’s real advantage lies in its slipperiness.

Reuters reported in 2020 that after threats of crackdowns, activists shifted from riots to online “accelerationism” tactics.

By 2025, the movement had splintered further, with former members rebranding as “community defense” outfits, according to a New York Post profile of ex-members who joined new extremist circles.

That is why the focus should now turn to financial networks—the weak spot.

Antifa’s operations rely on bail funds, gear, and travel money from crowdfunding platforms such as GoFundMe or the International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund. Larger support often flows through mutual aid channels tied to unions or nonprofits with overlapping activist agendas.

In September 2025, Representative Chip Roy and House Republicans called for a select committee to investigate “Antifa terror campaigns” and their funders.

Representative Lance Gooden demanded a Department of Justice inquiry into the National Lawyers Guild for alleged Antifa ties and financial support. The Government Accountability Institute has tracked “dark money” connections to the Open Society Foundations, which distributed $80 million to activist organizations with ideological overlap.

Have there been arrests of donors? Not yet.

As of October 2025, there are no high-profile indictments of funders, though the first Antifa-linked terrorism charges came on October 16 for a Texas ICE attack.

The FBI has pursued rioters, including a 2020 Portland case linking Antifa affiliates to arson, but the funding trails remain obscure. Legal experts note that proving donors knowingly financed violent activity remains the critical barrier.

Trump’s advisers have discussed RICO charges against Antifa-linked networks, but progress has been slow.

To prevail, Congress should modernize laws such as the PATRIOT Act to enhance nonprofit transparency and accountability. The Unmasking Act exposes faces; now it is time to unmask the checkbooks.

After years of unrest, the next step is not rhetoric but resolve—holding the enablers accountable through steady, principled law enforcement.

PODCAST: Trump wants to punish people for burning the American flag

President Trump signed an executive order that seeks to punish people who burn the American flag, accusing those who do so of displaying hostility and contempt toward the United States.
Mr. Trump has for years threatened to crack down on flag burning. In 2016, he wrote on social media that anyone who burns the American flag should lose their citizenship or face jail time. During a 2024 speech before the National Guard Association of the United States, then-candidate Trump said he would work to pass a law imposing criminal penalties on those who burn the American flag.

In remarks from the Oval Office on Monday, Mr. Trump alleged that burning the American flag “incites riots” and said those who are prosecuted and convicted as a result of his directive would face one year in prison. “The people in this country don’t want to see our American flag burned and spit on,” the president said.

Trump’s executive order on flag burning:

Titled “Prosecuting Burning of the American Flag,” Mr. Trump’s executive order does not direct the attorney general to prosecute those who burn flags for the act itself. Rather, it says the Justice Department should bring cases “against acts of American Flag desecration that violate applicable, content-neutral laws, while causing harm unrelated to expression, consistent with the First Amendment.” Examples of those laws include “violent crimes; hate crimes, illegal discrimination against American citizens, or other violations of Americans’ civil rights; and crimes against property and the peace.”

Hundreds of Millions in Taxpayer Dollars Went to Antifa and Terror Groups

The White House just announced they discovered that over $100 MILLION in taxpayer funds and laundered Democrat donations went to Antifa-linked organizations and “protest networks.”

Funders include:

  • Soros’ Open Society
  • Arabella Advisors
  • Tides Network
  • Hansjörg Wyss
  • Neville Roy Singham, with ties to Armed Queers SLC who is being investigated in the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

This madness must end. We are funding our own destruction and the Democrats that have orchestrated this must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

A foreign billionaire who has given *half a billion dollars* to left-wing political groups in the United States has STOPPED ALL FUNDING after getting getting called out in a bombshell report

And far left universities like Harvard, Columbia, Stanford et al destroying a whole generation of young minds, turning them into violent zombies, incapable of critical thought.

White House Releases Names of Funders of ANTIFA

Citizen Watch Report’s wrote:

White House releases names funding Antifa, protests and violence in America. We paid for our own protests with over $100 million laundered by Democrats.

We found a network of NGOs.

  • George Soros, the Open Society Network
  • Arabella Funding Network
  • The Tides FIShing Network
  • Neville Roy Singham and his network
  • Johann Georg “Hansjörg” Wyss a billionaire donor in Switzerland
  • Additional Foreign Cash

The China – Antifa Connection

The Washington Stand’s S.A. McCarthy reported:

Another Antifa funding source is ex-Microsoft executive Neville Roy Singham, who fled the U.S. and is now based in China, where he has strong links and financial ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and reportedly engages in generating CCP propaganda. Singham has distributed at least $100 million to various U.S.-based protest groups, including those linked to Antifa. Swiss pharmaceutical billionaire Hansjörg Wyss has also been linked to funding Antifa affiliates, according to Brunner. Other “Riot Inc.” investors allegedly covertly funding Antifa activism include the Democrat-aligned Arabella Advisors Network, the progressive grant-maker Tides Foundation, and foreign funding sources, such as Antifa International.

“Like any corporation, rioting has many divisions. It doesn’t just have the Antifa boots-on-the-ground division, it has PR divisions, it has marketing divisions, it has a very well-funded legal division to get these boots-on-the-ground back on the streets as quickly as possible,” Brunner told the president. “This money helps fund the decentralized crowdfunding platforms,” he added, referring to reportedly foreign-influenced crowdfunding networks that provide Antifa members and affiliates with gear and materials for riots and coverage for bail and legal fees. “Just because they don’t have LLCs or EIN numbers doesn’t mean they can’t get paid. Some of these crowdfunding platforms are funded by this network that we call Riot Inc.”

In comments to The Washington Stand, Brunner explained, “Antifa isn’t some spontaneous grassroots movement, it’s a coordinated network with funding streams that trace back to powerful interests, both foreign and domestic.” He continued, “Our research has shown that many of the same nonprofit and dark money structures that bankroll left-wing protest movements in the U.S. also support Antifa-aligned groups abroad. Money flows through cutouts: so-called ‘anti-fascist’ groups in Europe, donor-advised funds in the U.S., and even crowdfunding networks designed to obscure donors.”

According to Discover the Networks:

The Open Society Foundations (OSF) were founded as the Open Society Institute in 1993 by the multibillionaire hedge-fund manager George Soros, and took its current name in 2010. When Soros attended the London School of Economics (LSE) beginning in 1947, he was exposed to the works of the Viennese-born philosopher Karl Popper, who taught at LSE, and whom Soros would later call his “spiritual mentor.”[1] Most notably, Popper’s 1945 book The Open Society and Its Enemies introduced Soros to the concept of an “open society,” which affected him greatly.[2]

The term “open society” had been originally coined in 1932 by the French philosopher Henri Louis Bergson, to describe societies whose moral codes were founded upon “universal” principles seeking to enhance the welfare of all mankind—as opposed to “closed” societies that placed self-interest above any concern for other nations and cultures.[3]

[ … ]

Today Soros’s Open Society Foundations are active in more than 70 countries around the world.[10]  OSF is chiefly devoted to injecting capital into U.S.-based groups and causes. In his book Open Society: Reforming Global Capitalism, Soros explains that the “open society” which he has consistently sought to advance by means of philanthropy, “stands for freedom, democracy, rule of law, human rights, social justice, and social responsibility as a universal idea.”[11]

Scott Walter in his book Arabella: The Dark Money Network of Leftist Billionaires Transforming America reports:

While figures like George Soros, Bill Gates, and Mark Zuckerberg are known for their hefty political donations, few Americans have heard of Arabella Advisors. Even more powerful than these standalone billionaires, Arabella is a secretive “dark money” operation that channels megadonor funds into leftist political causes via pop-up groups designed to look like innocent grassroots outfits.

The sheer quantity of money that has flowed through Arabella’s channels is staggering. In the 2020 election cycle, Arabella’s nonprofits took in $2.4 billion, more than the fundraising of the Democratic and Republican National Committees combined. In the 2022 election cycle, Arabella’s fundraising rose to $3 billion.

In this book, Scott Walter reveals the major role that Arabella has played in battles over Supreme Court nominations, abortion, women’s sports, school discipline, Medicare for All, environmental policies, fake local news outlets, “Zuck Bucks” that manipulate election offices, and much more.

This mountain of money and influence aimed at transforming America explains why even left-leaning major media are alarmed. Arabella is “the indisputable heavyweight of Democratic dark money,” warns the Atlantic. A “dark-money behemoth,” says Politico. An “opaque network,” says the New York Times, that funnels “hundreds of millions of dollars through a daisy chain of groups supporting Democrats and progressive causes.”

Citizens from across the political spectrum will be shocked to learn how Arabella has covertly developed the darkest of “dark money” networks.

Hansjorg Wyss was born in Bern, Switzerland on September 19, 1935. He earned an MS degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in 1959, and an MBA from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business in 1965. After completing his education, Wyss was employed in the textile industry in places like Pakistan, Turkey, and the Philippines. He also worked in the steel industry in Belgium, during which time he ran a side business selling airplanes. One of his buyers was a surgeon who in 1960 had co-founded the Swiss medical-device manufacturer Synthes; this encounter eventually led to Wyss becoming the founder and president of Synthes’s U.S. division in 1977.

In 1998, Mr. Wyss established the Wyss Foundation, which later became a member of the Democracy Alliance, as a philanthropy dedicated to supporting “projects in areas from conservation and education to economic opportunity and social justice.” As of March 2015, Wyss and his Foundation had donated more than $350 million to environmental causes. The recipients of those funds were largely leftist organizations that view capitalism and human industrial activity as inherently destructive of the natural world. In 2010, for instance, Wyss contributed $35 million to help the Trust for Public Land (TPL) and the Nature Conservancy purchase 310,000 acres of private timberlands in northern Montana, to protect grizzly bear and wolverine habitats from encroachment by business and industry. In 2013 he donated $4.25 million to TPL, to purchase oil and gas leases on 58,000 acres Wyoming’s Hoback Basin and thereby protect the region from development. That same year, Wyss spent $2 million to help dismantle the 100-year-old Veazie Dam and thus restore fish passage in Maine’s Penobscot River. And in 2015, Wyss Foundation funds helped the Nature Conservancy purchase 3,184 acres along the Hoh River in Washington, in an effort to increase salmon populations there.[1]

In addition, Mr. Wyss has established a number of endowed chairs in medicine; he supports research, education, and training at numerous universities and hospitals; in 2009 he contributed $125 million to Harvard University to fund the establishment of a biological institute bearing his name; in 2013 he pledged another $125 million to Harvard; and in 2014 he pledged $120 million to help two Swiss universities create a center dedicated to the acceleration of medical breakthroughs.[2]

Trump To Designate Antifa As Foreign Terrorist Group

President Donald Trump said Wednesday he will classify Antifa as a “foreign terrorist organization.”

Trump convened a White House roundtable on Antifa on Wednesday to pledge an aggressive crackdown against the group. The event followed his order and Federal Register entry listing Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization — no State Department action has yet placed “Antifa” on the Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) list.

“Would you like to see it done? You think it would help?” Trump asked of the FTO designation. “I’d be glad to do it. I think it’s the kind of thing I’d like to do. Does everybody agree? If you agree, I agree. Let’s get it done, OK? Let’s get it done. Marco, we’ll take care of it … Sounds good to me.”

WATCH: President Trump Participates in a Roundtable on ANTIFA

“The epidemic of left-wing violence and Antifa-inspired terror has been escalating for nearly a decade,” the president said earlier in the roundtable. “We’re going to be far more threatening to them than they ever were with us — and that includes the people that fund them.”

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and other officials at the roundtable also likened Antifa to recognized terror or criminal outfits.

“Their agenda is to destroy the American people and our way of life, and this president is standing in their way,” Noem said.

Any move to place Antifa on the Foreign Terrorist Organization list would have to come from Secretary of State Marco Rubio. As of Wednesday, Antifa still does not appear under the FTO roster, though it is listed as a domestic terror organization in the Federal Register.

Portland’s Dirty Secret: Victims Get Cuffed While Antifa Walks Free

The shocking arrest of journalist Nick Sortor exposes a city where justice now depends on your politics.

When Nick Sortor, an independent journalist, showed up to film protests outside Portland’s ICE facility last week, he thought he was documenting the news.

He didn’t expect to become the news.

Moments after a scuffle broke out, police slammed Sortor to the ground, handcuffed him, and hauled him away — while the very people he says attacked him walked off untouched.

Sortor’s alleged crime?

“Second-degree disorderly conduct.”

The message?

If you stand on the wrong side of Portland’s politics, you’re not protected by the law. You’re persecuted by it.

The Arrest Heard Across America

Video shows police tackling Sortor and arresting him as he protests his innocence. What it doesn’t show is what came first — the alleged Antifa attackers who, according to Sortor, “jumped” him in front of witnesses.

Hours later, he was released without bond — and with a bruised face, a swollen wrist, and a microphone full of dirt.

Former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, now U.S. Attorney General, personally called Sortor and promised a federal investigation.

The Department of Justice has confirmed its opening a civil rights probe into the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) — focusing not only on Sortor’s arrest, but on other recent cases where conservative or Christian journalists were detained during Antifa-related riots.

The investigation will demand body-cam footage, internal emails, and arrest logs to determine if Portland police are selectively enforcing laws based on ideology — a fancy way of saying: Did they arrest the victims and protect the thugs?

The Portland Police Pushback

PPB Chief Bob Day insists his department acted by the book.

He says three people were arrested that night “for fighting,” not for political reasons.

Yet so far, only one name has made the news — Nick Sortor — the one person who wasn’t dressed in black, masked up, or carrying anarchist flags.

Meanwhile, Oregon’s liberal establishment is circling the wagons.

City officials and local coverage have framed such incidents as standard arrest procedures while denying any viewpoint bias.

Pam Bondi Fires Back

Within 48 hours, Bondi’s office confirmed a federal civil rights investigation into the Portland Police.

Her deputies — including Harmeet Dhillon — are demanding every second of body-cam video and all incident reports related to the ICE protest clash.

Speaking to the media later Friday morning, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the arrest “extremely troubling,” claiming that Sortor was “ambushed by Antifa and was defending himself.”

Her words echoed across conservative media — and sent a chill through city hall.

If Leavitt is right, Portland isn’t just facing a public-relations crisis. It’s facing a civil-rights reckoning.

The Bigger Picture: When Law Turns Political

What’s happening in Portland isn’t new. For years, Antifa has enjoyed a kind of street immunity in the city. Churches vandalized. Police stations firebombed. Businesses smashed to rubble.

Few arrests. Even fewer prosecutions.

But when conservative journalists, pastors, or parents show up to film or speak?

Suddenly, it’s cuffs, citations, and mugshots.

This is not law enforcement. It’s ideological enforcement.

And it’s spreading. From Portland to San Francisco to Washington, D.C., the American Left has learned something darkly powerful: If you control the police narrative, you control the streets.

Where Are the Christian Voices?

If justice now bends to political loyalty, Christians must speak — loudly.

Scripture commands: “Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression” (Isaiah 1:17).

We can’t “correct oppression” by staying silent when the law itself becomes a weapon.

If Portland’s police can arrest journalists for being on the wrong side of a protest, what happens next time it’s a pastor… or a parent at a school board meeting?

Final Word and Call to Action

America once believed justice was blind.

In Portland, it’s wearing a black hoodie and holding a Molotov cocktail.

And if Nick Sortor’s arrest proves anything, it’s that the greatest threat to liberty isn’t chaos in the streets — it’s cowardice in our institutions.

If you stand for equal justice, demand that the DOJ release the full Portland investigation to the public.

Expose what’s happening.

And never stop fighting for a country where truth still matters.

Radical Left-Wing Nonprofits Out Themselves Following Trump’s Executive Crackdown

Hundreds of far-left nonprofits signed an open letter condemning President Donald Trump’s September memo cracking down on domestic terrorism and organized political violence.

“Political violence is unacceptable. But efforts by the president of the United States to defund, discredit, and dismantle nonprofit groups he simply disagrees with are reprehensible and dangerous,” the letter stated.

Trump’s Sept. 25 National Security Presidential Memorandum (NSPM-7) establishes a “national strategy to investigate and disrupt networks, entities, and organizations that foment political violence.”

The memo empowers the National Joint Terrorism Task Force to “investigate potential federal crimes relating to acts of recruiting or radicalizing persons for the purpose of: political violence, terrorism, or conspiracy against rights; or the violent deprivation of any citizen’s rights.”

A “pattern of violent and terroristic activities” is hidden under the self-described commitment to “anti-fascism,” and that such language is used to “portray foundational American principles as ‘fascist’ to justify and encourage acts of violent revolution,” the memo asserted.

The directive specifically pointed to “organized campaigns,” and the alleged networks behind political violence and domestic terrorism.

“Common threads animating this violent conduct include anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity; support for the overthrow of the United States Government; extremism on migration, race, and gender; and hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family, religion, and morality,” the memo continued.

Trump designated Antifa as a terrorist organization in September.

While the memo sparked backlash on the left, the directive does not create new laws and states it will be “implemented consistent with applicable law.”

Some of the groups that signed the letter opposing Trump’s directive promoted anti-Israel causes, supported riots across the country or advocated for the mutilation of children through “gender affirming care.”

Several chapters with the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ (CAIR) signed the letter slamming Trump’s memo. CAIR’s Executive Director, Nihad Awad, reportedly said he was “happy to see” Hamas attack Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.

American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) signed the letter, and its co-founder Hatem Bazian also founded Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP) and is a professor at UC Berkeley.

AMP allegedly admitted to funding the anti-Zionist group Jewish Voice for Peace, according to a report from the Institute for the Study of Global Anti-Semitism and Policy. Jewish Voice for Peace was involved in the occupation of the U.S. Capitol building in 2023.

AMP was held in civil contempt Monday by the Richmond City Circuit Court for allegedly refusing to comply with investigations into accusations “that the organization may have used solicited funds for impermissible purposes.”

The Daily Caller reached out to AMP but has not heard back as of publication.

The Non-Government Organization (NGO) Monitor found that the Arab Resource & Organizing Center (AROC), another signatory of the letter, features a quote on its website from the former spokesperson of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine — a U.S. designated Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) — and spread similar propaganda to the youth arm of the organization.

Other organizations listed are focused on domestic issues, specifically opposing law enforcement.

The Center for Policing Equity co-signed another letter condemning systemic “state-sanctioned violence” of “brutality and fatality upon Black people since our nation’s founding” during the Black Lives Matter (BLM) protests of 2020.

The Sunrise Movement, another signatory of the letter opposing Trump, is a youth movement whose “demands” include “[abolishing] the police,” according to its website. The group also supported the Antifa-tied Stop Cop City/Defend the Atlanta Forest coalition, according to a Capital Research Center report.

statement from the Black Alliance for Just Immigration condemned Trump’s mass deportation operation targeting illegal aliens as “violent ICE raids terrorizing communities” across the country. It also said U.S. Customs and Border Protection has a “history of using racist law enforcement methods.”

Trump’s memo cited recent anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles, California, and Portland, Oregon, as justification for the directive, stating there has been over a “1,000 percent increase in attacks on [ICE] officers” since the beginning of Trump’s second administration.

Other signatories are advocating for sex changes for minors amid Trump’s federal crackdown on those procedures.

The President of the Funders for LGBTQ Issues, which has an “Out in the South” initiative, co-wrote a 2024 article lamenting legislation “targeting health care access” in Grant Makers in Health.

The article pointed to the Campaign for Southern Equality’s Trans Youth Emergency Project (TYEP) as a positive example, noting they provide “personalized support and emergency grants to transgender youth and their families” to support “clinic visits and travel costs.”

Another group, the Alliance for TransYouth Rights, states on its website that it is “fighting for our children’s right to equal access and equal treatment.” The group co-sponsored a California state bill they called “Affirming a Minor’s Gender Identity,” according to the website.

The alleged assassin of Charlie Kirk, Tyler Robinson, has a boyfriend who identifies as a transgender woman. Trump’s national security memo specifically pointed to Kirk’s murder, and how his alleged killer wrote phrasings like “hey fascist! CATCH!” on bullet casings, according to Utah officials.

Other organizations included in the signatures are CodePink, which reportedly has links to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and ClimateVoice, a project of Tides Center.

The Tides Center has funded far-left organizations across the country, including CodePink and Jewish Voice for Peace.

“The United States requires a national strategy to investigate and disrupt networks, entities, and organizations that foment political violence so that law enforcement can intervene in criminal conspiracies before they result in violent political acts,” Trump’s September memo stated.

PERKINS: Hate’s Number One Agent

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump issued an executive order declaring Antifa a “domestic terrorist organization,” directing federal agencies to investigate, disrupt, and dismantle its illegal operations. The order came in the wake of recent violence — including the assassination of Charlie Kirk, where the shooter left bullet casings engraved with Antifa-themed messages.

Experts note that Antifa is not a single, structured organization but a terrorist-style network. Having worked in anti-terrorism, I know most of their operations and communications are hidden underground. But they are often aided by above-ground institutions that give cover, resources, or legitimacy to the network.

That is why any serious federal investigation must also examine connections — direct or indirect — between Antifa cells and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Once a storied civil rights group, the SPLC has become a spotter and targeteer for the Left. And in federal court, its role has already been linked to domestic terrorism.

The pattern is chilling. In 2010, the SPLC put my organization, Family Research Council, on its “hate map.” Two years later, homosexual activist Floyd Corkins entered our headquarters with 100 rounds of ammunition, intending to kill as many as possible. He critically wounded our building manager, who still managed to subdue and disarm him. Corkins confessed to federal investigators that he chose FRC because of the SPLC’s map.

In 2014, the SPLC began targeting Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise in its “Hatewatch” publications, urging GOP leaders to strip him of leadership. In June 2017, Steve was shot and nearly killed by a leftist at the congressional baseball practice. And in 2024, the SPLC included Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA in its “Year in Hate & Extremism” report. Within months, Charlie was assassinated.

Coincidence? I don’t think so. After the 2012 attack, appeals were made to SPLC to remove their online “hate map,” which listed the addresses of those they had smeared. They refused.

And the damage goes far beyond serving as a roadmap for assassins. Democratic administrations have used SPLC propaganda to infiltrate churches and harass veterans. The media has amplified SPLC’s credibility to cancel and silence conservatives. And corporate America has blood on its hands. Apple, JPMorgan Chase, Starbucks, and Disney have funneled millions directly to SPLC, while Amazon, GuideStar, and PayPal have used its biased labels to deny services and block donor-directed funds from organizations standing against the Left’s agenda.

The conclusion is unavoidable: SPLC’s fingerprints are all over the culture of targeting that fuels political violence. If the Trump administration is serious about dismantling Antifa, it must also expose and confront the SPLC’s role — and the corporations underwriting it.

The stakes are life and death. Unless we stop this toxic alliance, more Americans will be targeted for destruction by tortured souls inspired by the SPLC’s demonic work.

Left-Wing Militias Are Hiding Right Under Our Noses

Several far-left groups — from socialists to anarchists — are uniting right in the heart of Utah, one of the nation’s most conservative states.

President Donald Trump designated Antifa a “major terrorist organization” Wednesday following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. There are a litany of other leftist, anarchist groups throughout the country — some of which are armed.

Less than an hour away in Salt Lake City, Utah, various radical left-wing groups have established a presence, including the Armed Queers Salt Lake City (SLC).

The organization, which apparently took down its Instagram account following Kirk’s assassination, was investigated for possible connections to his murder, a law enforcement source confirmed to the New York Post.

A student organizer with the group, Ermiya Fanaeian, told The Daily Utah Chronicle in 2024 that threatening power requires “disruption.”

“We have seen many great examples of peaceful protest, throughout history,” she said. “And it’s not to discredit any of that. But I think in order for us to pose a threat to power … there needs to be some form of disruption.”

Another far-left organization in Salt Lake City that encourages the use of firearms is the Utah chapter of the Socialist Rifle Association (SRA).

The national group boasts 10,000 members, and its members have ties to at least four crimes — including the alleged firebombing of Tesla dealerships, according to a report from the Daily Wire.

The Utah SRA spent the summer raising money for “Artruro Gamboa, an anti-racist accused of murder,” according to a social media post.

Police alleged that Gamboa refused to drop a rifle at the request of an armed safety volunteer at a Salt Lake City “No Kings” rally, according to The Guardian.

Gamboa allegedly ran into a crowd of demonstrators before the safety volunteer fired his weapon and accidentally killed a protester, according to the outlet, citing police. Officers arrested Gamboa after he allegedly fled the scene, and he was accused of creating the situation that resulted in the death an attendee, the report stated.

Although the national SRA claims it has no affiliation with its subreddit, the forum serves as a place where members can discuss political issues with members across the country. SRA also contends that it is not a militia.

Following Kirk’s assassination, one reddit discussion responded to Cox’s call to “disagree better” by claiming they are “at war.”

Comments from members of the subreddit shared now-debunked claims that the alleged shooter was right-wing.

One commenter stated, “we literally can’t coexist with fascists,” while another shared articles from left-wing news outlets claiming “toxic rhetoric” and “anger” was spiking among the right.

“Train as often as possible. Because make no mistake, right-wing violence will be skyrocketing over the next few months and years,” the user said.

The Salt Lake chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (SLDSA) is another prominent local left-wing group.

The chapter’s bylaws state that its purpose is to “facilitate the transition to a truly democratic and socialist society.”

Its bylaws also condemn “violence that defends the status quo” and violence “against another member.” However, it appears to not display a stance on condemning violence toward nonmembers or as a form of resistance against “an economic order based on private profit, alienated labor, gross inequalities of wealth and power, racial and sexual discrimination.”

“When we fight, you say we win,” SLDSA co-chair Matty Jackson chanted with a crowd at a Labor Day protest.

“We must to ask ourselves constantly, what would it take for us to fight back? What will make the whole [working class] fight back? What will convince someone to put something real at risk?” Jackson said.

“[Employers] are part of a whole capitalist class that fights us in the courts, in the state, in the government, who own the homes we live in,” he added.

The Daily Caller asked the chapter if it condemned political violence, but has not heard back as of publication.

Republican Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said the suspect in custody for the assassination of Kirk held strong left-leaning beliefs. The alleged gunman carved “Hey, fascist! Catch!” onto one of the bullet casings.

On Sunday, SLDSA announced the postponement of its Socialist Night School session on the “prison industrial complex” due to “recent events” and “public safety.”

A Sept. 1 blog post shared on the SLDSA site posed the question: “How, without taking up arms, can I truly call myself a revolutionary?”

“The question sits at the back of my mind, and no doubt, most likely yours,” the author wrote. The post ultimately concluded that the most revolutionary act is creating art, and it urged readers to be “relentless in your rebellion.”

Another group, the Palestinian Solidarity Forum of Utah, started the “Anti-Zionism Challenge” in July, where the forum aims to dismantle “Zionism” and “Nazi ideology”.” It advocates for “every restaurant, shop, bar and business should ban Zionism.”

“Apathy is no longer an excuse,” the social media post continued.

“Nazis aren’t allowed to unmask and exist in public. They aren’t welcome and need to be shamed out of existence,” the post added.

There are a variety of smaller left-wing groups in Utah.

Utah’s Pagans for Change and Witches for Change, for example, have protested Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee with signs calling him a “fascist liar” and a “little b*tch.”

Websites like “A Radical Guide” function as a map for left-wing groups around the world. The project asserts that its vision is for “interconnected communities” working together for “liberation, dismantling systems of oppression and creating lasting social transformation.”

One Salt Lake City group listed on the platform is the Salt Lake City Free Skool, which holds free classes on various subjects and describes itself as “a small community of mostly radical minded folx.”

Another organization listed on the website is Boing! Anarchist Collective.

The collective invites those who are “inspired by people who have acted outside of the legal system to achieve liberation” and “hesitant to resign yourself to a pacified and glorified form of dissidence” to join their program.

Trump Declares Antifa A Terrorist Organization

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he is designating Antifa a terrorist organization and calling for investigations into its financial backers.

Trump formally labeled Antifa a “major terrorist organization” in a post on Truth Social, calling the far-left group a “sick, dangerous, radical left disaster” and urging investigations into its financial backers.

“I am pleased to inform our many U.S.A. Patriots that I am designating ANTIFA, A SICK, DANGEROUS, RADICAL LEFT DISASTER, AS A MAJOR TERRORIST ORGANIZATION. I will also be strongly recommending that those funding ANTIFA be thoroughly investigated in accordance with the highest legal standards and practices,” Trump wrote.

Trump vowed to classify Antifa as a terrorist organization in May 2020 following the George Floyd protests, though no formal designation followed. In January 2021, violent demonstrations linked to Antifa caused widespread damage in cities like Portland, where then-Mayor Ted Wheeler admitted the group had engaged in criminal acts and destruction.

Dozens of Portland businesses—including banks, wine shops, cafes, and jewelry stores—were vandalized or looted during the unrest, racking up millions in losses. Journalist and author Andy Ngo, known for his reporting on Antifa, was brutally beaten in June 2019 while documenting one of the group’s rallies, leaving him hospitalized with serious injuries.

Democratic leaders, including former President Joe Biden, have dismissed concerns about Antifa’s structure, with Biden calling it “an idea” rather than an organization during a 2020 debate. His remark drew criticism from law enforcement officials and commentators, who pointed to Antifa’s violent record and organized presence on the streets.

Antifa Is Responsible For Charlie Kirk’s Assassination

What people often fail to understand is that for Antifa, ‘anti-fascism’ isn’t just a thing you are, it’s a thing you do.

On Sept. 10, conservative political icon Charlie Kirk was assassinated by Antifa, and there is currently a massive corporate media information operation struggling with all its might to prevent you from drawing that conclusion.

Even before the 22-year-old alleged assassin was arrested, the contours of the shooter’s motives were being fiercely debated when Steven Crowder published what he reported to be an ATF document, which noted, “The spent cartridge was still chambered in addition to three unspent rounds at the top fed magazine. All cartridges have engraved wording on them, expressing transgender and anti-fascist ideology.”

The spin machine went immediately to work, with CNN labelling the engravings as a “range of phrases related to cultural issues.”

It was later revealed that the phrases included, “Hey Fascist! Catch!” and, “O Bella ciao, Bella ciao, Bella ciao, ciao, ciao,” lyrics from a popular Italian anti-fascist song. (While some have attempted to obfuscate the song’s origins, as of this writing, the extensive Wikipedia writeup of the song’s history is contained under the website’s “Anti-fascism” category.) Andy Ngo, who has long tracked Antifa, noted that the phrase “Bella Ciao” was included in the manifesto of Puget Sound John Brown Gun Club member Willem van Spronsen before his attack on an ICE facility in Tacoma, Washington, in 2019.

“Hey Fascist! Catch!” — plus a series of arrows — is apparently associated with the video game Helldivers, which includes a satirical fascist world government. The song may also appear in the video game.

The fact that these anti-fascist references appear in popular video games is being used by mainstream Democrats and corporate media personalities to gaslight people into believing the attack on Charlie Kirk somehow wasn’t conducted by an Antifa supporter, even while actual Antifa and anarchist accounts seem to claim the shooter as one of their own.

A Pittsburgh-based anarchist account, which specializes in distributing Antifa and anarchist propaganda and pamphlets, mocked those claiming the attack had been done by a member of the far-right, and responded to a post about the Kirk assassination by posting more of the “Bella Ciao” lyrics. The same account also compared the assassination of Kirk with the 1977 kneecapping assault on journalist Indro Montanelli by members of the Red Brigades terrorist group. Protesters seeking to disrupt a Kirk vigil led by the NYU College Republicans sang the song as well. Clearly, “anti-fascists” saw and understood the reference as an ideological endorsement.

Meanwhile, other Antifa-affiliated media perpetuated the claim that the alleged assassin was a “Groyper,” an online follower of the antisemitic podcaster Nick Fuentes, in a post titled, “Charlie Kirk: There’s More Comin’.”

This kind of coy communication — in which a target is openly described as a fascist against whom violence is justified, and the assault is celebrated, even while blaming the actual attack on alleged white supremacists — is itself an Antifa hallmark, which those of us who study the movement immediately recognized.

Meanwhile, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said it was clear to investigators that the assassin was “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology.”

What people often fail to understand is that for this movement, an “anti-fascist” isn’t just a thing you are, it’s a thing you do. A man who paints is a painter, whether he’s a professional or a novice. A man who engages in “anti-fascism” is an “anti-fascist,” whether it’s his first time or his 51st.

The shooter did the one thing necessary to be recognized as bona fide Antifa: He murdered Charlie Kirk.

Those who knew Kirk best have noted that the core element of Charlie Kirk’s personality and political approach was his fundamental willingness to talk to anyone about politics and to try to persuade and convince, even in the face of hostility.

And there is no more quintessential “anti-fascist” action than murdering such a man. Indeed, it’s the one “anti-fascist” imperative.

Despite the name, since the founding of its first incarnation as Antifaschistische Aktion as the armed militia of the Communist Party in Weimar Republic Germany, the real enemy of Antifa has never been actual fascists. The primary enemy in the 1930s was the center-left Social Democratic Party, which the Communists labeled “social fascists” and aggressively opposed. You might have said that Antifa and the actual Nazis had their own mini-Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, both eating away at the heart of the moderate political center of the nascent and struggling republic to bring about its demise. Ironically, today we are seeing similar unspoken cooperation, as Antifa and radical leftists celebrate Kirk’s assassination, while on the fringe right, contemptible smear merchants blame Jews and Israel, despite Kirk being a noted, outspoken supporter of both.

The one thing Antifa absolutely cannot allow is reasoned debate and polite but firm disagreement. They categorically reject the idea that a Charlie Kirk might engage with the political process, convince and persuade, mobilize potential voters, win elections, and have his policy preferences implemented in a republic of ordered liberty.

Instead, they use violence in hopes of forcing their opponents to join them in the political gutter. If you hire security to protect yourself, they’ll claim you’re a fascist using armed guards to intimidate your opponents. If you defend yourself when they attack you, they’ll claim you’re a white supremacist and seek to have you thrown in jail. If they murder you in cold blood, they’ll say it was an act of self-defense because your words are violence.

Was the alleged assassin a “card-carrying” member of an official Antifa group, whose members can be identified and exposed? We should certainly demand that law enforcement leave no stone unturned until they can positively rule out such a possibility.

But was he Antifa? Clearly.

FBI Recovers ‘High Powered Rifle’ of ‘College-Aged’ Assassin, Ammo Engraved With ‘Transgender and ANTIFA’ Symbols

The FBI has recovered a “high powered BOLT ACTION RIFLE” in a wooded area where the assassin fled after kiIIing Charlie Kirk

The suspect is believed to be “college-aged.”

“All cartridges have engraved wording on them, expressing transgender and anti-fascist ideology.”

“Investigators have collected footwear impression, a palmprint and forearm imprints for analysis,” the FBI says.

Could the “.30-06 bolt-action rifle” used in Charlie Kirk shooting reveal who the shooter was?

International Desk

Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10. Federal agents have now confirmed they recovered the rifle used in the attack. The weapon was found in a wooded area near the campus. Officials say it was an older bolt-action rifle.

Law enforcement sources told major outlets it was a Mauser .30-06 caliber rifle. This type of rifle is known for hunting use. Investigators believe the shooter discarded it while fleeing. The FBI has sealed off the site for further testing.

What We Know About the Rifle Used

According to Reuters and USA TODAY, the rifle was found behind the Losee building on campus. Evidence markers showed a trail leading through the woods to a nearby construction zone. Workers at the site told reporters they briefly saw a man moving through the area. One worker recalled the man saying he was trying to get home safe after the shooting.

The rifle is described as a high-powered bolt-action firearm. Experts note the .30-06 caliber is common for hunting deer. This type of rifle typically holds five rounds. A shooter must reload each round manually after firing. That slows the rate of fire compared with semi-automatic rifles.

Tom Chittum, a former ATF deputy director, said the single shot at Kirk matched the profile of such a rifle. He explained that with optics and some practice, the shot was possible without military training. The FBI will now test the weapon for fingerprints, DNA, and trace evidence.

Investigation and Security Concerns

Officials stressed that finding the rifle is a major step. It can be traced through serial numbers. It may also lead to the purchase history. That could help identify the suspect or their network. Authorities have not confirmed if the shooter is linked to any group.

The Utah Department of Public Safety and the FBI are leading the manhunt. They urged the public to report tips. Police believe the suspect may have used nearby properties to escape. Forensic teams are continuing to search the area.

Security experts note the choice of a bolt-action rifle may suggest planning. It shows patience and preparation for a long-range shot. But officials caution against speculation until the investigation is complete.
