‘Super Expensive’: NRCC Drops Video Targeting Dems For Thanksgiving Food Price Hikes

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released a video Wednesday, first shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation, seeking to hold Democrats responsible for Thanksgiving food price increases ahead of 2024.

The online advertisement, titled “Thanksgiving in Biden’s America” and launched by the House GOP’s campaign arm, depicts how some of the feast’s staples “are more expensive again this year,” arguing that “you can thank Democrats” for the price increases. Local prices for canned cranberries, canned pumpkins and russet potatoes are all up 60%, 30% and 14%, respectively, since 2022, according to the NRCC.

“It’s super expensive and I’m sharing the cost with some of my siblings,” a grocery shopper can be heard saying in the video.

“Definitely more conscious about what we purchase,” another said.

WATCH:

Inflation has spiked under the Biden administration, which has been attributed by critics to record levels of government spending approved by Democrats. Biden signed the American Rescue Plan in 2021 authorizing $1.9 trillion in new funding for COVID-19 relief, as well as the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, which added $750 billion to the deficit and sought to advance the president’s green energy agenda.

“Unsatisfied with their war on Christmas, extreme Democrats launched a war on Thanksgiving. That’s why your Thanksgiving meal costs skyrocketed,” Ben Smith, NRCC rapid response director, told the DCNF in a statement.

While the average cost for a Thanksgiving table of ten has decreased by 4.5% since 2022, the price is still up by 25% at $61.17 since 2019, according to a report from the American Farm Bureau Federation released Nov. 15. Last year’s average Thanksgiving feast saw a record-high price of $64.05 compared to $48.91 from before the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NRCC is seeking to expand its majority in the House by targeting 37 seats held by vulnerable Democrats, including several that will now be open in 2024 following a wave of departures in Michigan, Virginia and California.

Trump Widens Lead Over Biden In New 2024 Poll

Former President Donald Trump has widened his lead over President Joe Biden by 5 points for a 2024 head-to-head matchup, according to a Tuesday poll.

Trump is beating Biden 47% to 40% among registered voters, with 13% remaining undecided, according to a Messenger/HarrisX poll. The former president’s margin of victory grew from his 2-point lead reflected in a previous Messenger/HarrisX survey released on Nov. 1, when 12% of registered voters were not sure of their choice.

Independents favored Trump over Biden at 45% to 32%, with 23% remaining undecided, and the former president also led among the crucial voting bloc in a four-way race with third-party candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West on the ballot, according to the survey.

Biden also trailed Trump by seven points in a four-way matchup, with independents Kennedy and West receiving 14% and 2% support, respectively, and 11% were unsure of their choice.

The survey follows a series of other national and crucial battleground state polls that reflect Trump leading Biden by several points. A New York Times/Siena College poll released on Nov. 5 found the former president winning in Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania anywhere from three to 10 points.

While a majority of voters don’t believe either major party candidate should run for another term, 40% of Democrats are opposed to Biden’s reelection campaign compared to only 25% of Republicans who think the same of Trump, according to the survey. Biden also received a 39% approval rating with 57% disapproving of the president’s job performance.

Trump holds a 51-point lead over the remaining GOP primary candidates, with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis following at 11%, according to the poll. Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley received 10%, conservative businessman Vivek Ramaswamy brought in 4% and all other GOP hopefuls garnered less than 2% support.

Biden also held a significant advantage among the small field of Democratic primary contenders at 65%, with self-help author Marianne Williamson and Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips garnering 5% and 4% support, respectively.

The Messenger/HarrisX poll surveyed 3,017 registered voters between Nov. 15 and Nov. 19 with a margin of error of plus or minus 1.8%.

Neither Trump nor Biden immediately responded to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s requests for comment.

‘Malpractice’: Dems Are Freaking Out Over Biden’s 2024 Reelection Plan

Democrats are growing increasingly concerned over how President Joe Biden is approaching his bid to win reelection in 2024, The Washington Post reported Sunday.

As Trump continues to lead Biden in a series of national and crucial battleground state polls, Democratic donors, elected officials, administration aides, campaign staff and strategists have great angst that the president could lose a second term, according to the Post. Many Democrats pointed to Biden’s age, his campaign’s lack of strategy, failure to sell what the campaign views as economic achievements and more in interviews with the outlet, largely on the condition of anonymity.

“The bad news is that everybody is wetting the bed inside of Biden world,” a fundraiser told the Post. “It’s really an unhappy confluence of Biden world donors’ cocktail party friends saying ‘Can’t you get him not to run,’ which is stupid and absurd if you know Joe Biden.”

Others expressed concern to the outlet over the lack of polling on certain issues that could help streamline the Biden campaign’s reelection strategy.

“The absence of polling explains stuff like ‘Bidenomics,’” a national Democratic consultant told the Post of the campaign’s economic policy platform. “It’s just malpractice.”

Some Democrats are also worried about the campaign’s lack of a plan to secure another term and what a second administration would look like, according to the Post.

“How many times in 2020 did you hear the president say, ‘Don’t compare me to the almighty — compare me to the alternative,’” David Axelrod, former senior adviser to President Barack Obama, told the Post. “Well, if I were them, I’d say, ‘Let the comparison begin,’ and push it on the contrast in values and policies and results that work for them.”

Multiple recent surveys have found Biden trailing Trump in crucial battleground states, including a New York Times/Siena College poll released Nov. 5 that suggested the president would lose in Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Biden holds the Democratic primary field largely to himself, with only Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips and self-help author Marianne Williamson in the running. The RealClearPolitics average for a 2024 national Democratic primary, based on polls conducted between Oct. 27 and Nov. 14, indicates Biden is leading the small field with 72%, followed by Williamson with 7.8% and Phillips with 4.8%.

“Joe Biden is not a perfect person — no such person exists — and he has strengths and weaknesses as a candidate, to be sure, but he will be the Democratic Party’s nominee,” Democratic strategist and fundraiser Dmitri Mehlhorn told the Post. “Joe Biden is going to be the nominee, and he is the best bet to beat Donald Trump, and people have to help us make that happen because the alternative is Donald Trump and is a catastrophe for American democracy.”

Biden’s campaign did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

North Olmsted man accused of faking hate crime attack near North Ridgeville

Hesham Ayyad claimed he had been hit by a car driven by a man who yelled things like ‘Kill all Palestinians’ at him. Authorities now believe Ayyad made it all up.

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio — A North Olmsted man is facing multiple misdemeanor charges after police say he faked an alleged hate crime attack near North Ridgeville last month.

According to investigators, 20-year-old Hesham A. Ayyad was originally taken to the hospital on Oct. 22 after telling officers he had been hit by a car in an incident that was “racially motivated.” He claimed the collision took place on Cook Road in Olmsted Township, and North Ridgeville detectives subsequently began looking into the case.

An article posted the next day by the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ Cleveland branch shed more light on Ayyad’s version of events. Per the organization, Ayyad claimed he was waking home from lunch when a vehicle approached and the driver rolled his window down. Ayyad reported hearing the driver say things like “Kill all Palestinians” and “Long live Israel” before swerving his car and hitting Ayyad, driving away while screaming, “DIE!”

Israel’s Defence Forces uncover CCTV footage showing bloodied victims of Hamas’ October 7 attacks being hauled into al-Shifa hospital hours after troops allegedly discovered a 55-metre-long tunnel under the complex

Uncovered CCTV footage appears to show victims abducted by Hamas during the October 7 massacre being hauled into Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City.

The surveillance footage shows bloodied victims – believed to be Thai and Nepali migrants taken hostage by the terrorists – being carried into the hospital on gurneys. They appear to have been severely injured by Hamas fighters.

The video, which was released by Israel‘s Defence Forces (IDF) on Sunday, was captured at Al-Shifa hospital the day that Hamas launched its attack on Israel.

It comes as the IDF, who have been carrying out an operation at the medical complex over the last week, said it had found a 55-metre-long underground passage 10-metres below the ground.

Israel has long claimed the hospital – which is the largest in the Palestinian enclave – functions as a command complex for Hamas, with a network of tunnels running deep below used for both ammunition storage and planning

Here is a link to the clip of one of the hostages being taken through a Gaza hospital. We have had this confirmed by our own contacts that this is an accurate video along with the description.

U.S. Business Execs Give Chinese Dictator Multiple Standing Ovations During Exclusive Dinner

Following President Biden’s and Chinese President Xi Jinping’s summit on Wednesday, the communist dictator, whose government has perpetrated extensive, well-documented crimes against humanity, was warmly received with multiple standing ovations at a lavish dinner that evening in San Francisco attended by prominent U.S. business executives and government officials.

The dinner, which was hosted by the U.S.-China Business Council (USCBC) and the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, was attended by about 300 people. General admission to the dinner cost $2,000, and a group of “Corporate Sponsors” sat at the “Guest of Honor’s” table for a $40,000 fee. The business executives at the table included:

  • Tim Cook, CEO of Apple
  • Stephen Schwarzman, chairman and CEO of Blackstone
  • Larry Fink, chairman and CEO of BlackRock
  • Stanley Deal, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes
  • Merit Janow, chair of Mastercard
  • Milind Pant, CEO of Amway
  • Darius Adamczyk, executive chairman of Honeywell
  • Hock Tan, president and CEO of Broadcom
  • Robert Goldstein, chairman and CEO of Las Vegas Sands
  • Joseph Bae, co-CEO of KKR
  • Daniel O’Day, chairman and CEO of Gilead Sciences
  • Ming Hsieh, chairman and CEO of Fulgent Genetics

Video of the event reveals a parade of three executives and a U.S. official introducing Xi and showering the communist dictator with praise, including Ambassador Craig Allen, president of the USCBC; Marc Casper, CEO of Thermo Fisher Scientific; U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo; and Evan Greenberg, CEO of Chubb Insurance. As Xi entered the Hyatt Regency banquet hall, the guests stood and applauded for almost a full minute. Then, after 20 minutes of laudatory introductory remarks, the crowd gave another standing ovation to the authoritarian that lasted over 40 seconds. A third standing ovation at the end of Xi’s remarks lasted another half minute.

While the executives presumably attended the dinner to curry favor with the head of the world’s second largest economy, they were likely disappointed. “[Xi] offered no hints of concessions to business or even interest in more investment in the Chinese economy,” a senior American business executive who attended the dinner told The Wall Street Journal. “The speech was propaganda at its finest.”

Meanwhile, the laundry list of egregious human rights abuses that have occurred in China under the 10-year rule of Xi’s dictatorship is extensive and well-documented. Since he assumed office in 2013, China has “seen a strong reduction in freedom in all sectors of society,” according to the religious freedom advocacy organization Open Doors.

Most infamously, a tribunal has determined the communist regime has forcibly cut open tens of thousands of people — while still alive — in order to harvest their organs. The victims are mostly adherents to disfavored religious groups such as Falun Gong, but also others such as the Uyghurs. It is estimated that at least 65,000 Falun Gong practitioners have been killed for their organs since 2001, but the number is likely much higher as of today.

In addition, China’s “one-child policy,” in which the communist regime forcibly sterilized and aborted the unborn children of women who did not comply, lasted for three years into Xi’s tenure until 2016. The government has since a instituted a “two-child policy,” followed by a “three-child policy” in 2021, but the government still imposes restrictions on the number of children families can have. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) revealed in 2013 that 336 million abortions were carried out under one child the policy since 1979.

Under Xi’s government, China has seen a drastic increase in persecution of religious believers. For Christians, this has included the demolition of churches, the raiding of house churches, the use of facial recognition technology, mass incarceration, and forced indoctrination of atheistic allegiance to the CCP.

For ethnic Uyghur Muslims living in the Xinjiang region, Xi’s government has engaged in a level of persecution so drastic that the U.S. government, in a parting move by Donald Trump’s administration, declared in 2021 that the regime is committing genocide. Since 2017, up to two million Uyghurs and other ethnic minorities have been arbitrarily detained in “re-education” camps. As has been reported, detainees are subject to forced indoctrination and renunciation of their religious beliefs, sterilization, rape, torture, and execution, often in order to have their organs harvested.

Once they are allowed to leave the camps, these ethnic minorities are often compelled into forced labor. As has been documented, over 80 corporations from all over the world have been linked to the factories in which this forced labor occurs, including American companies such as Apple, Nike, Patagonia, Polo Ralph Lauren, Gap, L.L. Bean, and many others.

Seamus Bruner, director of research at the Government Accountability Institute, further explained how the corporate world has partnered with China to gain enormous financial profit during Thursday’s edition of “Washington Watch.”

“Whether it’s Apple computers, whether it’s Nike with their factories over in China, whether it’s Jeff Bezos [at] Amazon, they have all built enormous fortunes for themselves and for their companies at the expense of the Chinese people,” he observed. “… [I]t is a deep partnership. Men like Bill Gates have helped the Chinese Communist Party censor journalists … with Skype, which is a Microsoft company. … So the partnership seems even more than financial. … And in exchange, [they get] cheap labor.”

Arielle Del Turco, director of the Center for Religious Liberty at Family Research Council, also expressed grave concern over the willingness of U.S. business leaders to openly applaud the authoritarian leader of a communist regime that continues to commit atrocities on a mass scale.

“This was a shameless display by American corporate executives,” she told The Washington Stand. “It demonstrates what we always knew to be true about most American corporations. They really don’t care about what atrocities are currently going on in China, as long as they can cash in on their ties to the Chinese economy. This doesn’t benefit the United States, and it certainly doesn’t benefit those suffering from forced labor as a part of the Chinese supply chain.”

Del Turco continued, “The U.S. officially determined in 2021 that the Chinese government was committing genocide against Uyghur Muslims. That is still in effect, which means that American business leaders were applauding an authoritarian leader who is still responsible for an ongoing genocide, according to the U.S. government. Genocidal rulers don’t deserve standing ovations.”

The Green Energy Industry Just Had An Absolutely Brutal Week

The past week has been marked by worrying developments for the state of the green energy industry, suggesting that President Joe Biden’s sweeping climate agenda could be imperiled.

Offshore wind companies are cancelling projects and executives are sounding the alarm on the state of the industry, while solar companies and indexes have seen their value continue a months-long slide that has resulted in diminished earnings forecasts and a solar-oriented loan provider’s bankruptcy. These developments suggest that Biden’s sweeping green energy plans could be in trouble, especially given the intractable nature of some of the crucial economic problems plaguing the industries.

“Boosters for this energy transition bet the farm on three rent-seeking industries: wind, solar and electric vehicles. Two legs of that three-legged stool are now showing signs of financial distress despite massive subsidies they’ve already received from multiple levels of government,” David Blackmon, a 40-year veteran of the oil and gas industry who now writes and consults extensively on energy, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “American consumers, who are paying the price for this in the form of skyrocketing costs of all forms of energy, should demand their representatives hang up the phone when the calls come in from wind and automaker executives asking for even more.”

Orsted, a Danish offshore wind company, announced on Tuesday that it cancelled two major developments off the coast of New Jersey. Company executives blamed factors like inflation, interest rates and supply chain woes, saying that the problems had left the firm little choice but to walk away from the major projects.

Since the cancellations, the company’s stock price has fallen even further and S&P has indicated that it is considering downgrading the company’s credit rating. But Orsted is not the only offshore wind company showing signs that the industry may be in an extremely precarious position.

The U.S. offshore wind industry appears to be “fundamentally broken” due to problems with permitting and rising costs, Anja-Isabel Dotzenrath, the head of gas and low carbon energy for British Petroleum (BP), said at a conference on Wednesday, according to Bloomberg News. “There’s a fundamental reset needed,” she said, suggesting that there could be solutions and that her company is working with its partner to assess “options for their U.S. offshore wind projects to mitigate the effect of inflationary pressures and permitting delays.”

Under Biden’s leadership, the federal government has heavily subsidized the offshore wind developments, primarily via the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), in a bid to have the industry provide enough power to source electricity for 10 million American homes by 2030. The state of the industry is so dire that numerous energy market experts told the DCNF that a government bailout for the industry may be just around the corner.

The offshore wind goal is just one slice of the administration’s efforts to decarbonize the American energy sector by 2035 and then have the entire U.S. economy reach net-zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050.

Like offshore wind, the administration is counting on solar power to emerge in the coming years as a replacement for the energy generated by fossil fuel infrastructure. Solar power is also similar to wind power in that it is intermittent and currently more expensive than power sourced by natural gas and other fossil fuels, according to Peter Grossman, an emeritus professor of economics for Butler University.

Solar companies have generally had a rough 2023 so far, and this past week has been no different: while stocks are down for several leading solar producers, Sunlight Financing, a company which provided loans to consumers to buy residential solar systems, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Monday. Several leading home system installers pared back their outlooks for the year this week as well, as higher interest rates and inflation have cooled consumer demand, according to Bloomberg News.

“The green industry makes products that are both very expensive and mostly ineffective,” Larry Behrens, the communications director for Power The Future, told the DCNF. “Yet, instead of admitting reality, we have an administration in Washington that is doubling-down and working overtime to force these terrible products into our lives,” he continued, adding that “thanks to the laughably-named Inflation Reduction Act, Joe Biden has a $369 billion dollar green slush fund and he’s put a political operative in charge of it… Joe Biden knows that when the green agenda fails, his legacy will sink even further, so there will be no dollar amount too high to keep green boondoggles afloat for as long as possible.”

The White House, Orsted, BP and Sunlight Financing all did not respond immediately to requests for comment.

‘It’s a New Day’: Mike Johnson Brings Principles and Purpose to Speakership

While D.C. politicos scramble to figure out who House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is, here at Family Research Council, we needed no introduction. To most of us, the young-looking Louisiana lawyer represents the best the movement has to offer. “He’s a social conservative’s conservative,” Politico pointed out in a lengthy piece about his relationship with FRC. But more than that, he’s a man who deeply loves God and this country. So as senators like Susan Collins (R-Maine) turn to Google to find out who the new speaker is, we can tell you simply: he’s the real deal.

My boss, FRC President Tony Perkins, met Mike more than two decades ago when the future speaker was just an up-and-coming law student at LSU. During Tony’s days in the Louisiana legislature, the two crossed paths a lot, eventually working together on a blockbuster bill that became one of the first abortion clinic regulation laws in the country.

“You mentioned how far back we go,” Johnson said in an interview on “Washington Watch” a couple years ago. “I saw you as a young state legislator, and I remember that your banner and your motto when you ran for office was ‘raising the standard.’ And that resonated with me, because I felt that same call on my life. And in so many ways, Tony, you were a huge influence on my life. I saw that you could do it. … [Other] people that I knew [also] did it right and did it well, and they followed the Lord first. And it showed in all their work and their life and their family. And that was a great encouragement to me.”

As Johnson alluded to in his speech before the House chamber Wednesday, the road to Congress was paved by his God-fearing parents. “I was blessed,” he emphasized to Tony. “I was raised in a Christian household, and my parents — I was actually the conception of a teenage pregnancy my parents’ junior year in high school. And they dropped out, decided to have me, and keep me. And that’s why I’m so pro-life today. I’m a living example of faithfulness. … They just trusted God.”

And made sacrifices. “My dad went to work early. They didn’t finish high school. Then he went back later, got his GED, but I don’t have any memory of not being a Christian,” Mike said. “I got saved when I was seven years old. I got baptized in a horse trough out behind our old country church in northwest Louisiana. And I was just raised to know and understand and believe that faith is very real. And it was just part of the fabric of our family, and who we are.”

But the fabric of that family was tested when Mike was just 12. His dad, an assistant chief for the Shreveport, Louisiana fire department, was a training officer. “And on September 17th, 1984,” he remembers, “he went into work on a hazardous materials leak in a cold storage plant. And the building blew up. He was burned 80% of his body, third-degree burns — and given a 5% chance to live. His co-captain died in the fire, so it was a terrible tragedy. [But] God miraculously saved my dad’s life.”

“He had a long journey back,” Mike said. “He lived another 30 years. And he was in pain every day — but he survived. … I was the oldest of four kids in my family,” he pointed out. “[And I learned that] our faith was real. … God saved my dad’s life … and I just knew that prayer worked. So that’s never left me. It’s been with me my whole life.”

When Tony asked Mike what surprised him most about his time in Congress, he replied that his answer was “kind of a sad one.” “I was surprised to see that many members of Congress are elected to serve, and they don’t truly have a fully formed philosophy of government. Some of them are not even crystal clear on what their worldview is, you know? And so it has an effect on their work and the decisions they make. … If you don’t have a fully formed philosophy of government, if you don’t have your principles set in stone … before you get there, then you’re going to be easy prey for all the influences that are out there.”

That’s why, he says, he’s been trying to encourage his colleagues to think about what it means to be a Christian in public service. “The only seedbed of virtue,” Johnson insisted, “is in religious faith. I mean, men have to understand that they owe an allegiance to a higher power, and they have a judge that is above all others. And that is what has guided our country since its founding. And that’s what’s going to continue to guide it. So we shouldn’t make apology for it. We should go out and live that boldly and encourage others to do the same.”

He owes that strength of conviction to a number of people who encouraged him along the way. “I had a mentor when I was really young, [and he] told me one time — he said, ‘Mike, you know what? Always remember this: What is popular isn’t always right, and what is right isn’t always popular.’ And we have to remember that even in politics, you know, highest levels of elected office in the country, that’s a pretty simple axiom that everybody needs to follow.”

Now, Johnson is passing that advice along to his four children — and all of the young leaders he meets. At the time, his son, Jack, was just starting high school, and he wanted to make sure that his son was firmly rooted in truth. “I said, ‘Listen, I want you to be real intentional about this. You know, the calling of a Christian young man or young woman is that you are not called to be a thermometer. You’re called to be a thermostat. What does that mean, Jack? You know, what does a thermometer do? Well, a thermometer goes into a new environment, takes a temperature, and adjusts to it. That’s not what we do. The Christian young man or woman is called to be an atmosphere changer, to be a thermostat. So you walk in, and you hold that standard, raise the standard.’”

At the end of the day, Mike said, “You live according to that truth that you know, and it will change the atmosphere you’re in. And people will look to you. … [They’re] dying for truth and authenticity. They want to know that there really is an absolute … that there’s a standard.” He pointed to Chronicles 6:9. “The eyes of the Lord range throughout the whole earth, seeking those whose hearts are holy, committed. There’s only a few in every generation, but if you’ll do that, God will give you His blessing. He’ll give you His platform. His promotion principles will set in place, and He’ll give you things that will amaze everyone.”

They were prophetic words for a man whose heart is holy, whose God has just given him that enormous platform he spoke of. And yet, back in January, Mike would have been the last to guess that when he and a handful of Republicans knelt in the House chamber to pray for the speakership, they would ultimately be paving the road to him.

As Tony said in a Newsmax interview Wednesday, America can be proud to have a man of substance at the helm. “That’s why he’s the first speaker, I think since 2011, to have unanimous support from his colleagues on the Republican side. … I’ve known Mike for 25 years, and he is going to be an excellent speaker for the times in which we live.”

Looking back on the arc of their long friendship, he said with pride, “He has a sense of purpose, and that comes from his faith. … And this is what’s important, because in politics this has gotten lost. It’s really about people. And he cares about people,” Tony insisted. “… He told me this morning, I was talking to him as he was working on his speech, and he said, ‘It’s a new day. They’re going to see a new thing in this Congress.’”

And those of us who admire him believe it.

Two Dozen U.S. Soldiers Injured in Iran-Backed Attacks Last Week

The ayatollahs are getting impatient that their $6 billion check hasn’t arrived.

The ayatollahs are getting impatient that their $6 billion check hasn’t arrived in the mail. And they do like celebrating the 40th anniversary of their great triumph… the Marine Barracks bombing.

So they spent a little time trying to kill American soldiers. Again.

At least two-dozen American military personnel based in Iraq and Syria were injured in drone attacks last week that officials said were launched by Iran-backed proxy groups.

The largest attack carried out against a US base was on Oct. 18 when 20 troops suffered “minor injuries,” after numerous one-way drones targeted al-Tanf Garrison in southeastern Syria, US military officials said, according to the Washington Post.

On the same day, multiple drones also targeted the US and its allies in two different attacks on Ain al-Asad Air Base in western Iraq that left four people with minor injuries, the Washington Post reported. Those injured also returned to duty.

A US citizen working as a contractor died the same day after he went into cardiac arrest during a shelter-in-place order at the base.

The Pentagon has said the groups behind the attacks are supported by Iran and its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

It’s natural to assume that this is a response to the current situation in the region, but the depressing thing is that it’s not even new.

The two elements that jump out at most people (1. Iran launching attacks on U.S. bases and (2. the White House not even mentioning it… have been around for quite a while.

Here’s my article on it from Jan 2022.

Two more terror drones targeted American forces deployed to fight ISIS at the Al Asad air base. The base has been repeatedly hammered by Iran-backed rocket attacks over the past year, most notably when 14 rockets struck the base over the summer causing several injuries.

There were repeated Iran-backed rocket strikes against Americans in Iraq throughout the last year totaling an estimated 25 separate attacks under the Biden administration.

On September 11, two drones launched an attack on U.S. forces at Erbil International Airport.

Then, as now, the Biden administration limited American military personnel to defensive preventative air strikes against the Shiite terror groups carrying out the attacks.

This was going on long before the current Hamas attack and the Israeli response. Or before we directed more forces to the region.

American soldiers have been killed and worse still, we’re funding their killers. And I don’t just mean with that $6 billion.

While some U.S. conflicts with Jihadists in the region are old news, Kataeb Hezbollah fired rockets at the U.S. embassy in Baghdad in 2019, and has bombed U.S. bases in recent years. Kataeb Hezbollah killed two American soldiers in 2020: Army Spc. Juan Miguel Mendez Covarrubias and Air Force Staff Sgt. Marshal D. Roberts.

Politicians and the media have mostly ignored the fact that Americans are continuing to be killed in Iraq, that the Iraqi government is funding their killers, and that we’re funding Iraq.

While Iraq funds Iran’s terror militias, the United States funds the UN Development Programme to “stabilize” Iraq and has invested over $100 million into “conflict, peace and security” funding.

The United States has spent over $1 billion financing the nation’s military while Iraq spends billions financing the Iranian PMU terror militias which are expected to approach a quarter of million Jihadis.

Did you hear any mention of Air Force Staff Sgt. Marshal D. Roberts?

On March 14, 2020, Roberts lost his life when enemy fire engaged with his unit at Camp Taji. With rockets flying, Roberts and his friend took cover. They discussed running to a bunker but not without considering if they could make it to safety. Roberts told his fellow Airmen to go and get her body armor. As his friend left, a rocket landed, taking his life. In losing his own, Roberts saved another.

Her body armor.

Do we talk about any of this? No. And then suddenly we notice it and wonder what’s going on. Iran keeps attacking us and trying to kill us. And Biden keeps trying to cut a deal while warning against offending Iran.

Dem Rep. Dean Phillips Challenges Biden For President In 2024

Democratic Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota launched a White House bid during a CBS News interview released Thursday evening, challenging President Joe Biden in 2024.

Phillips had been weighing a run for months, citing concerns over Biden’s age and electability, as well as the lack of alternatives in the Democratic field. The congressman announced his presidential campaign during an interview with CBS News’ Robert Costa where he insisted 2024 needs to be “about the future.”

“I am. I have to,” Phillips told Costa when asked if he’s running for president. “I think President Biden has done a spectacular job for our country. But it’s not about the past. This is an election about the future. I will not sit still I will not be quiet in the face of numbers that are so clearly saying that we’re going to be facing an emergency next November.”

Phillips recently reached out to the New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley, and approached potential staffers to build his campaign’s operation within the state ahead of his launch.

Phillips was one of the first elected Democrats to warn against Biden running for reelection when he called for a “generational change” in July 2022. The congressman has also expressed concern that Biden’s candidacy could hand the White House back to former President Donald Trump, who has been leading the president for a potential 2024 rematch in a series of recent national and battleground state polls.

The RealClearPolitics average for a 2024 national Democratic primary, based on polls conducted between Oct. 12 and Oct. 23, indicates Biden has 70.3% support, followed by self-help author Marianne Williamson at 9%. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was polling around 14% prior to his campaign’s switch from Democrat to independent on Oct. 9.

Phillips stepped down from his position as co-chair of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee on Oct. 1 ahead of his presidential announcement, citing “convictions” he held about the 2024 election.

The congressman was first elected in 2018 when he ousted Republican Rep. Erik Paulsen 56% to 44%, and most recently secured reelection in 2022 by nearly 20 points. Phillips is also a businessman who opened a coffee shop, helped build a gelato company and headed his family’s distillery.

Senator to Biden: ‘You Can’t Be Pro-Israel and Pro-Iran. You Have to Choose.’

A month ago, the idea of U.S. troops doing live-fire exercises in Iraq would have seemed like something out of 2002. But almost three weeks removed from one of the bloodiest days in the modern Middle East, war is closer than it’s ever been. With more than 18 separate attacks launched at American soldiers last week, it’s clear: Israel is no longer the only target.

“My warning to [Iran],” President Biden said Wednesday, was “be prepared.” “If they continue to move against those troops, we will respond.” Whether the Ayatollah takes the message seriously is anyone’s guess. After all, Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) pointed out, it’s not like this White House’s position has been one of strength.

“Iran does not know if this president has any red lines,” the Kansan argued on “Washington Watch,” “and I’m afraid that they could be right. And that’s why I’m saying we need to retaliate and teach them a lesson. We need to hit the bully across the nose really hard the next time they do anything whatsoever. As long as we have ships in harm’s way, which we do, it’s very possible that one of those drones or one of those underwater attacks get through. So of course, I’m very, very concerned about the situation there.”

And it’s not just Republicans who are sounding the alarm. After 24 Americans were wounded on bases in Iraq and Syria, hard-core Democrats like Senator Chris Coons from the president’s own state have expressed frustration with Biden’s lack of spine. “There needs to be pressure back against Iran,” he insisted to Fox News’s Bret Baier. “… Iran funded, supplied, and trained the fighters of Hamas and is behind these other proxies that are in the north of Israel, in the south of Lebanon, in Yemen, on the Arabian Peninsula, in Iraq. So, we need to be striking back — and we need to be prepared for the very real prospect that this will get harder before it gets easier.”

In conversations with some of the Syrian rebel commanders, Biden’s weakness is only feeding Iran’s aggression. “There has been absolutely no response to these attacks,” one told a Washington Post reporter, “which has resulted in the fact that the Iranian-backed militias are getting much braver.”

Much as this White House has tried, you can’t be “pro-Israel and pro-Iran,” Marshall insisted. “You have to choose one or the other.” But if we think back to what’s happened under Biden, the senator explained, “… [H]e’s empowered their nuclear weapon program. He’s unfrozen this $6 billion [dollars] … three months ago. He unfroze $10 billion [dollars]. And he’s now allowing them to sell $1 billion [dollars] of oil every week.” Under this administration, Iran’s reserves have climbed from $6 billion dollars to $60 billion dollars.

“This is what’s happening under Joe Biden’s watch,” Marshall shook his head. “He’s allowed Iran to once again be a force, to be a power. And again … You have to choose Israel or you have to choose Iran. Iran is the one that says, ‘Death to Israel. Death to America.’”

If Biden doesn’t act, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins asked, could we see this escalate into a “global conflict?”

“Absolutely,” Marshall answered. “We’re [all] looking [for] some type of clarity from this president, some type of priorities. [No one understands] what the president’s priorities [are] under this situation. To me, the priorities should be very, very clear. Number one, we want to get all the Americans back safely. We need to secure our southern border. By the way, we need to cut the head off the snake of Iran, and we need to eliminate Hamas. … We need a president who’s going to put our first, our best, best foot forward to stand with peace through strength.”

Frankly, Perkins pointed out, “I wish this president had the same clarity on issues such as this, as he does for abortion, the whole LGBTQ agenda, and climate change. [Those seem] to be the only three issues this administration has clarity on. It’s frightening.”

And look, the senator replied, we’re not “warmongers.” “I don’t want this war,” he admitted. “But let’s face it — over the next days, weeks, and months, it’s going to get really ugly there in the Gaza Strip. And Israel needs to know that we have their back, that unequivocally we’re going to stand with them.”

The Biden Administration has Blood on its Hands

Ignored Warnings from His Own State Department.

Hamas And Amoral Clarity

VICTOR DAVIS HANSON | October 12, 2023

One unexpected blowback from the medieval Hamas’s barbaric murdering of hundreds of Israeli civilians is the revelation of current global amorality.

More than 20 Harvard University identity politics groups pledged their support to the Hamas murderers — to the utter silence for days of Harvard President Claudine Gay.

Americans knew higher education practiced racist admission policies. It has long promoted racially segregated dorms and graduations. And de facto it has destroyed the First Amendment.

But the overt support for Hamas killers by the diversity, equity, and inclusion crowd on a lot of campuses exposes to Americans the real moral and intellectual rot in higher education.

Democratic Socialist members of the new woke Democrat Party openly expressed ecstatic support for Hamas’s bloodwork.

Their biggest fears were not dead fellow Americans or hostages, or some 1,000 butchered Jewish civilians. Instead, they were fearful that righteous Israeli retaliation might destroy the Hamas death machine.

Palestinians for years fooled naïfs in Europe and the Obama and Biden administrations into sending billions of dollars into Gaza.

These monies were channeled to tunnel into Israel, to obtain a huge rocket arsenal, and to craft plans to wipe out Jews.

The Biden administration has blood on its hands.

As soon as President Joe Biden took power, he resumed massive subsidies to radical Palestinians, canceled by the prior Trump administration.

He ignored warnings from his own state Department that such fungible monies would soon fuel Hamas terrorism.

His administration dropped sanctions against Iran, ensuring that Tehran would enjoy a multi-billion-dollar windfall to be distributed to Israel’s existential enemies — another fact well-known to the Biden administration.

If the Biden administration had announced overtly that it was rabidly anti-Israel, it would be hard to imagine anything it could have done differently from its present nihilist behavior.

Biden and company quickly restarted the defunct Iran appeasement deal — a leftover from the anti-Israeli Obama administration. No surprise, they appointed radical pro-Iranian activist Robert Malley to head the negotiations.

Malley allegedly has leaked American classified documents to Iranian officials and is under investigation by the FBI. He did his best to place pro-Iranian, anti-American activists into the high echelons of the U.S. government.

Biden was intent on forcing South Korea to release to Iran $6 billion in sanctioned frozen money.

That expectation of cash ensured Iran would be reimbursed for its present terrorist arming spree.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken shamefully tweeted that Israel should settle for an immediate ceasefire. No wonder he soon withdrew his unhinged posting.

That idiocy would be the moral equivalent of an American ally in December 1941 urging the U.S. to seek negotiations with imperial Japan after its surprise bombing of Pearl Harbor — to avoid a “cycle of violence.”

The Biden team has drained strategic arms stockpiles in Israel, designed to help the Jewish state in extremis.

It recklessly abandoned a multibillion-dollar arms trove in Kabul, some of which reportedly made its way from Taliban killers to the Hamas murderers.

Once the mass murdering started, the amoral clarity of our “allies” was stunning.

NATO partner Turkey openly sided with the killers. It — along with Blinken — called for a cease-fire — at the moment the Hamas death squads had finished, and Israel was ready to hold Hamas to account.

Qatar, where the U.S. Central Command is based, proved little more than a Hamas front.

It offers sanctuary to the architects of Hamas killing. And Qatar ensures a safe financial pipeline to Hamas from Iran and the radical Arab world.

Some of the most vehement current supporters of the Hamas death squads were immigrants to America from the Middle East.

Oddly, they apparently had fled just such illiberal Middle East regimes to reach a tolerant, democratic, and secure United States.

Yet they now endorse the Hamas butchering of Jewish civilians. Its savagery is aimed at executing, raping and beheading Jews, and then mutilating their bodies.

Hamas apparently hopes to shock the Israeli government into voluntarily committing suicide — in line with the ancient Hamas agenda to destroy the Jewish state.

In a strange way, this reign of death has become a touchstone, an acid test of sorts that has revealed the utter amorality of enemies abroad and quite dangerous people at home.

It is past time that Americans deal with the medieval world that was revealed this week rather than keep dreaming in the fantasy world of our government.

Americans need to stop illegal immigration and restore their southern border, while ceasing all immigration from unhinged, hostile nations.

The military must return to its deterrent role and fire its woke commissariat.

Our leaders must accept that in the last three years of the Biden administration, serial American appeasement abroad, disunity at home and social chaos have encouraged an entire host of enemies — China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Middle East illiberal regimes and former friends like Turkey and Qatar.

And our enemies dream of doing to us what we just saw in Israel.

Hamas is not fighting for a Palestinian State that shares borders with Israel. Hamas’s goal is the total annihilation of the Jewish people and the Nation of Israel.

Inflation Stays Hot As High Prices Continue To Plague Americans

Inflation remained high in September, staying well above the Federal Reserve’s 2% target, according to the latest Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) release on Thursday.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a broad measure of the prices of everyday goods, increased 3.7% on an annual basis in September, compared to 3.7% in August, exceeding the expectation of 3.6%, according to the BLS. Core CPI, which excludes the volatile categories of energy and food, remained high, rising to 4.1% year-over-year in September, compared to 4.3% in August.

“The combination of high headline inflation and low core inflation is doubly bad for average Americans since the economy seems to be slowing but they are still paying higher prices for gas, one of their most important purchases,” Dr. Thomas Hogan, senior research faculty at the American Institute for Economic Research and former chief economist for the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, told the DCNF. “Based on the Fed’s most recent economic projections, they expect to raise interest rates one more time this year. Financial markets are currently projecting them to keep rates steady in November and raise in December, but if inflation comes in higher than expected, it would make a November rate hike more likely.”

Shelter made up more than half of the increase in inflation for September, rising 7.2% year-over-year, while the rise in the price of gasoline was also a significant contributor, rising 2.1% for just the month and 3.0% for the year, according to the BLS. The index for food rose 3.7% for the year, with food away from home rising 6.0%.

Despite inflation persistently remaining above 3% over the last few months, the Fed chose not to raise its federal funds rate at the last Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting in September, keeping the rate at a range of 5.25% and 5.50%, and will announce whether or not rates will be hiked again at the conclusion of its next meeting on November 1. The rate has been hiked 11 times since March 2022 in an effort to bring down inflation that peaked at 9.1% in June 2022.

The U.S. economy unexpectedly added 336,000 nonfarm payroll jobs in September, far higher than the 170,000 that were expected, while unemployment remained at 3.8%. Despite the large addition, the gain was dominated by an increase of 151,000 Americans becoming employed in part-time jobs, while the number of people employed in full-time jobs dropped by 22,000.

“Some Americans are asking when prices will start coming down,” Hogan told the DCNF. “The short answer is: never. If inflation had been caused by supply bottlenecks, as Fed officials initially claimed, then we would see prices fall as the supply constraints went away. In reality, inflation was driven by the Fed’s bad monetary policy, which means prices will remain high and will only go higher.”

Biden-Equipped Taliban Ask Iran for Passage to Israel to Join The Jihad War Against Israel

So not only is Biden’s billions to Iran funding this genocidal war, but Biden’s unimaginable militaria left to the Taliban. Billions of dollars in operational US military equipment left behind by the Biden mis-administration’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Biden gave them enough militaria to arm and aid a world army.

Taliban has reportedly asked Iran for passage to Israel to help Hamas continue it’s terror against the Jewish state.

Remember how Team Biden got journos to run interference for them and downplay what a catastrophe this was?

“The Taliban won’t be able to use them.” “Where are they going to get spare parts?” “They already had some of these anyway.”

‘Biden” gave them enough militaria to arm and aid a world army. And now family members of suicide bombers who killed Americans will be rewarded with plots of land and cash payments by the new Taliban government in Afghanistan, group leaders announced.

Taliban ‘vows to conquer Jerusalem if Iran, Iraq and Jordan allow passage to Israel’

Hamas terrorists launched a deadly attack on Israel earlier today as at least 198 Palestinians have been killed after Israeli forces retaliated.

The Taliban has reportedly asked Iran, Iraq and Jordan to grant them passage to Israel so that they can “conquer Jerusalem”.

Hamas terrorists launched a surprise assault on Israel today, launching thousands of missiles into the country and crossing the border with armed militants.

Israel has retaliated with a series of airstrikes that have killed just under 200 Palestinians, according to latest estimates.

A statement widely circulated online suggests Taliban’s foreign office has contacted Middle Eastern governments requesting passage, seemingly to aid Hamas terrorists and promising to take control of Jerusalem.

DEROY MURDOCK: Donald Trump Looks More Electable By The Day

“Trump can win the primaries, but he can’t win the general election.”

Never Trumpers have made this argument in anger, and some Trumpians have offered it in sorrow. Even those who admire Donald J. Trump and yearn for his America First policies to revive this gasping nation wonder if he can cross the finish line first on Nov. 5, 2024.

Thus, Trump foes are massively frustrated, and Trump fans are hugely encouraged, that he has soared against Joe Biden. Recent polls find Trump ready to trounce Biden at the next general election.

Sunday’s ABC News/Washington Post poll of 1,006 adults captured Trump at 52% and Biden at 42% among registered voters. In terms of the popular vote, such a Trump re-election margin would land almost exactly halfway between Obama’s 52.9% triumph in 2008 and Biden’s 51.3% victory in 2020.

This story’s key fact on American democracy (Trump 52% to Biden 42%) died in the darkness of paragraph 21. Indeed, the Post threw shade on its own survey. We don’t know what we’re doing, the Post’s article on this study suggested. This research was so painful to the Post that it smothered its own story in caveats and accused its survey team of incompetence.

“Trump’s lead in this survey is significantly at odds with other public polls that show the general election contest a virtual dead heat,” the Post self-flagellated. “The difference between this poll and others, as well as the unusual makeup of Trump’s and Biden’s coalitions in this survey, suggest it is probably an outlier.”

But the paper added, “In May, a Post-ABC survey found Trump with a six-point lead among registered voters, 49 percent to Biden’s 43 percent.” Empathy for Trump grows as Democrat persecute him.

Simultaneously, Biden’s popularity has slipped amid endless vacations, mounting gaffes, throbbing ethical headaches and public displays of disaffection toward such people as the 97 Maui residents whom a vicious wildfire incinerated.

No wonder Trump’s support has waxed by 3 percentage points while Biden’s has waned by 1 percentage point. Result: Trump 52%; Biden 42%.

“In the new poll, men favor Trump by 62 percent to 32 percent, a margin of 30 points,” the Post observed. “In May, Trump’s margin among men was 16 points.” So, 14 percentage-point higher approval among half the population should boost Trump by about 7%.

Meanwhile, the Post reports, “Among non-White voters, the poll finds Biden leads by nine points. In four other public polls, Biden’s lead among non-White voters ranges from 12 points to 24 points.”

In 2020, according to Edison Research’s exit poll, Biden beat Trump among Hispanics 65% to 32% (a 33% margin) and blacks 87% to 12% (a 75% shellacking.) If Biden is ahead just 24% among non-whites, he is in trouble. If Biden sunk to the Post’s 9% reported advantage among voters of color, he should crawl into his Wilmington bunker and assume the fetal position.

Chart: Trump Tops Biden in Key Swing States, Wins Electoral College

The popular vote is interesting, but the Electoral College counts. Yet another survey should make Trump staffers throw their MAGA hats into the air.

“Trump held a small advantage in the seven states where the 2020 presidential election was closest: Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Nevada and Michigan,” Reuters/Ipsos reported Sept. 15 after surveying 4,413 registered voters. “In those states, Trump led with 41% to Biden’s 35%, and 24% undecided.” If Trump secures those battlegrounds, Biden is a dead man walking.

If these two split the other 44 states as in 2016, their respective victories would follow post 2020-Census reapportionment. Texas has added two electoral votes. Colorado, Florida, Montana, North Carolina and Oregon each has gained one.

These states have lost one electoral vote each: California, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Ceteris paribus, Trump’s triumphs in these six swing states would transform the 45th President of the United States into America’s 47th chief executive, 312 to 226 for Biden.

By my calculations, Trump’s victory would exceed Biden’s 306 to 232 showing in 2020.

Politically, November 2024 is 10 zillion light years away. Surprises will fill that void. But right now, Donald J. Trump looks not just electable but poised for a landslide.
