The Claim That Israel is Engaged in ‘Colonization’ in Gaza is Preposterous

Belgium’s Development Minister, Caroline Gennez, has claimed that Israel is engaged in “colonization” in Gaza. The charge is preposterous.

How can the Jews of Israel be “colonizing” the land that Jews started living on more than 3500 years ago, the land where Jewish history was made? There is no metropolitan power “colonizing” this territory. The Israelis who have settled on state or waste lands, or bought land from Arab owners, or taken over land abandoned by Arabs when they left in 1948, hoping to soon return with victorious Arab armies, have nothing in common with the French colonizing Algeria or the British colonizing Kenya. Jews in Israel have ingathered, returning to the original home of the Jewish people — a home that Jews can be said to have never entirely left, because Jews, albeit in small numbers, have continued uninterruptedly to live somewhere in the Land of Israel during the past 3500 years. In exile, Jews never stopped thinking about the place from which they were driven. When a Jew dies, non-family members offer a traditional condolence — “May God comfort you in Zion and Jerusalem.” “Zion” is synecdoche for the Land of Israel. The true colonizers of the Land of Israel are the Arabs, who arrived in the first half of the seventh century, more than two millennia after the Jews had first been living there. It is Muslim Arabs who came out of Arabia to colonize not just Israel, but all of the land from Morocco to Iran, settling in large numbers, imposing their language and culture and religion on the indigenous inhabitants.

Thus did Egypt go from being a country peopled entirely by Christian Copts to one where, over many centuries, those Copts converted to Islam and adopted Arabic names and accepted Arab culture, so that now 90% of Egyptians identify themselves as Muslim Arabs. The Berbers were the original inhabitants of North Africa, but now a majority of the people living in that area have been thoroughly arabized by the Arabs who conquered their lands in the first few centuries of Islam, and now, while sizable numbers of Berbers, speaking Tamazigh, still exist in Morocco and Algeria, most North Africans see themselves as Arabs. Lebanon, once peopled entirely by Christians, is now 65% Muslim. The Greek Orthodox and Syrian Orthodox Christians of Syria, who once completely dominated Syria, are now only 2% of that country’s population. In Iraq, similarly, a country once consisting of Assyrians, Chaldeans, and Syriac Christians, have been reduced to less than 1% of the population. The Arabs are in fact the most successful colonizers in history, not only for the vast territories that they conquered, but also because they managed to convince those peoples that they conquered that they too, were Muslim Arabs.

What about Caroline Gennez’s charge that Israel is engaged in “ethnic cleansing”? Has Israel been moving whole groups of Arabs out of Israel? Not a single Israeli Arab has been moved out of Israel by the government. Israel took control of Gaza in 1967, when its Arab population was 390,000. Israel pulled out every Jewish civilian and soldier from the Strip in 2005. During those 38 years, no Arabs were expelled from Gaza. Between 1967 and 2005, the Arab population more than tripled to 1.3 million. It is much the same in Judea and Samaria (a/k/a the West Bank). In 1967, the Arab population of that area was 900,000. Today it has more than tripled, to 3 million. No Arabs have been expelled from the area. A few Arab villages, with several hundred people, have been moved from one part of the West Bank to another, mainly for security reasons, including the need to move civilians further away from, or out of, IDF training sites. But that is very different from being subject to “ethnic cleansing.” And those who claim that Israel is engaged in the “ethnic cleansing” of east Jerusalem are also wrong. In 1967 the Arab population of east Jerusalem was 66,000 when Israel took it over; by 2023, that same population had skyrocketed to 370,000, nearly a six-fold increase. Ethnic cleansing? What ethnic cleansing?

Will any of these facts – these numbers that tell a tale — matter to Belgium’s Minister of Development, who chastises Germany for supporting the Jewish state that, Caroline Gennez claims, engages in “colonization” and “ethnic cleansing”? You and I both know, alas, the answer to that.

A Lesson from Europe is Not Learned [+Video]

History is the mother of all sciences, and even a short history of the two main religions opens our insight to the nature of today’s reality—we are at war! To win this war or any war, you must identify your enemy and know his nature. The Obama foreign policy hasn’t recognized this simple premise and the devastating results are what we are witnessing today. The FBI Director is right: The Islamic State (ISIS, ISIL Daesh) is more dangerous than Al-Qaeda. I would widen the narrative: we are in a long and bloody war from attacks of 9/11/2001 to Paris, and Brussels. The West has given the enemy ample time to develop its long-range strategy—that evidence is plainly before us to see. ISIS indeed represents an existential threat to Western civilization, because it is a unified force of Soviet Fascism and Islamism.

A Short History of Two Religions

The current dispute of whether we are in a clash of civilizations is an integral part of today’s politics. Yes, is the short, direct answer. To give a comprehensive answer takes us to world history again. The largest religions in the world are Christianity and Islam; they developed from completely different roots, and then took different paths to get to where they are today. Judeo-Christian religions were not free of violence during the Middle Ages as they began to see God’s plan of salvation differently. However, a reformation movement in the Catholic Church has been going on constantly since. Dissidents have been free to pursue their ideas without the threat of violence.

Despite some violence in Europe in the 13th century, Western civilization (Christianity) gave the world the Magna Carta in 1215. In the year 2015 humanity commemorated 800 years of the Magna Carta—the cornerstone of Western civilization. America is a child of the Magna Carta. A brilliant constellation of individuals we call Our Founding Fathers created an exceptional political system and the government we call the United States of America.

Islam has never gone through a process of reformation since the days of Mohammed in the 7th century. Islam still sees the world the world as Mohammed did, and will use any means available to bring it into submission to his teachings. No reforms have been put into place to curb the violent path it is on. Therefore, we are the witnesses of a clash of deeply ingrained cultures and it is very hard to find peaceful coexistence under these circumstances. Yet, there are two other factors not discussed by anybody. Current Muslim leaders like President of Egypt al-Sissi, who liquidated the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt is now calling for the reformation of Islam. He is supported by many other Muslims. Yet, there is the second factor—a long-term Soviet/Russian infiltration.

WATCH: This Muslim leader just came to Donald Trump’s defense in a way that shocked everyone:

Imam Nidal Alsayyed of Beaumont, Texas, said the government should go even further than Trump’s proposal and establish a ban on accepting Syrian refugees of any religion. He said those actions are necessary “when it comes to peace and safety.”

These words didn’t shock me, I am in a total agreement with Imam Alsayyed, but there is a caveat, I mentioned before. America’s tragedy is that our President belongs to the opposite camp of thinkers and has shared his ideology with Vladimir Putin and the Castro’s brothers. The opinion of Imam Alsayyed ought to be known to the world, he and President of Egypt el-Sissi think alike and that is the sign of hope for the West! Both of these Muslim leaders are right—there is great confusion among the religious and the secular, thus the current predicament in the world clearly reflects it. Imam Alayyed is right:

“I believe there is a great confusion and lack of understating nationally and among Muslims themselves for what Mr. Trump is calling for. Refugees in general have no clear identity or belief. They are seeking shelter and opportunity; but America cannot take this risk NOW!” he said. Alsayyed said banning Syrian refugees of all religions might prove eye-opening. “My advice to Trump is to stop differentiating among Christian vs. Muslim refugees; only because he may get surprised to see all refugees claiming to be Christians!” he wrote and elaborated on his comments via Facebook. “I only said what I believe is right. Trump is not against American Muslims; He is against any new Muslim immigrants (refugees and non-refugees)! There is a big difference here!” he wrote.

The Russian connection

I’d like to remind you the words of the KGB General Pacepa to illustrate my second factor: “According to Andropov… the Muslims had a taste for nationalism, jingoism, and victimology. Their illiterate, oppressed mobs could be whipped up to a fever pitch. Terrorism and violence against Israel and her master, American Zionism, would flow naturally from the Muslims’ religious fervor, Andropov sermonized.” You can see for yourself  in 2016.

Imam Alsayyed is hinting on my second factor—Soviet/Russian long-term infiltration. To grasp the Imam’s idea, we have to turn to history of Stalinism again, If we analyze the goals of Communism and Islam, we will find that exact common agenda—domination of the world by all cost. The first Soviet leader who noticed and saw the benefits of that unity for Communism was Joseph Stalin. Brought up within the Muslim culture and getting the assignment to be an organizer of the Marxist groups in the Caucuses, Stalin had traveled the area, including the Northern part of Iran. The idea to use Islam in the fight against Western civilization was crystalized then in his earlier political career.

A violent mixture of Soviet Fascism and Muslim Jihad was initiated and established by Stalin much later. The end of WWII had brought a notorious Muslim Brotherhood from Berlin to Moscow. It was time when Stalin’s old idea of infiltrating Islam came true. As we know today “the Soviet Union hastened to set up points of liaison in the East; and in so doing, Stalin, just before his death, invited Amin al-Husseini (d. 1973), the Mufti of Jerusalem and friend of Hitler, to Moscow.”[2] Adding the description of the Muslim Brotherhood Part 1: The Genesis of Euro-Islamic Racism by Hans-Peter Raddatz

For your information, the Muslim culture was the main factor in the creation of the violent system we called Soviet Socialism. That exact system was brought to radicalize the Middle East by the Soviets during 1950-1990s. Since then Islam has been infiltrated, politicized, and equipped with the Soviet long-term strategy of war against Western civilization. The Muslim Brotherhood was established as an Islamic Politburo, the beginning spark in generating Extreme Muslim Jihad.

Arafat was the first molding of a Soviet style leader; he was recruited by the KGB in 1957, followed by Ayman al-Zawahiri, Bin-Laden, Abu al-Zarqawi, Anwar al- Awlaki, and finally al- Baghdadi. The logical chain of the leaders in space and time leads you to other terrorist groups. Hamas, Boko Haram, Hezbollah, Al-Qaeda, are just some of the many other names under the Soviet/Russian supervision, and finally to ISIS, which has required special research to prove the truth of what was said above.

If we continue to research the ISIS nature, we will find that it is a final creation of the Russian Stalinist Intel in 2009-2010. The foundation of the terrorist state is its leadership. The field commanders of ISIS consist of many former Soviet trained operatives: They are former Sunni Saddam Hussein’s secret service members, trained by the Soviets, former Soviet citizens from the Muslim republics (Turkmens, Chechens, and others), who were trained by Russian Intel. Like Hamas and Hezbollah, they all have an immediate connections with Russian military and intelligence. When you are talking about the solidarity of these dictators, it is the same solidarity of the current terrorist groups and ISIS leadership with Moscow. There is no surprise for me about a very effective ISIS propaganda online—the Soviet actors of 1970-80s have returned to their dirty profession in ISIS.

The conclusion is clear—ISIS is an amalgamation of a totalitarian Stalinism and Islamism, adhered to the ideology of Soviet Fascism, fighting Western civilization. The confirmation is the attack of 9/11, Paris, Brussels, and many others ahead of us. This is a result of Islam, which is missing thirteen centuries of developments and reforms. For your information: Russia has a visa waver, granted by the Obama administration. Just watch for the Soviet/Russian dirty tricks around the globe, described by me earlier—the Democrats working in cahoots with the Andropov agenda, inciting protests against the Republican candidates and fighting the First Amendment, the corner stone of Western civilization…

“This is a war and there will be thousands of deaths all across Europe.”

Over the past 24 hours Lisa Benson and Dr. Jill Bellamy, Dr. Jill Bellamy, noted bio defense  expert, member of the UN Counterterrorism Advisory Council  and Founding Director of Warfare Technology Analytics , held conversations and emails exchanges regarding the ISIS suicide bombings in Brussels at the Zaventem Airport and Maelbeek Metro near the EU Complex and European Parliament. The toll has now risen to 31 dead, two of whom are Americans, 330 injured, half of whom remain in hospital with extensive shrapnel wounds and burns. What follows are exchanges between Benson and Bellamy. Bellamy will be a guest on the Sunday, March 27, 2016 The Lisa Benson Show that airs at 4:00 PM EDT in the U.S.

Benson: Jill I started to write an article tonight on the brothers of the 9/11 attacks – and the brothers of Charlie Hebdo, Paris, Boston, and Brussels. The New York Times published a profile of the criminal brothers and suicide bombers, Khalid and Ibrahim el-Bakraoui. These are same EU countries contending with terror from émigré Muslim communities  who have Lars Hedegaard charged with mentioning his Danish Palestinian émigré ISIS assailant’s name or  trying  Geert Wilders in a political trial at the Hague  charged over  his 2014 campaign statement “fewer Moroccans.”  I have so little hope — more bloodshed is coming — many more will die and political correctness will live on.

Bellamy: I have colleagues stateside recommending that my children and I come back to the States. Although I don’t carry an active US passport, nor do my children, I have decided to apply for new passports. This is a war and there will be thousands of deaths all across Europe. This is just the very beginning. We will look back on the attacks in Paris and Brussels five years from now and understand that it was just the beginning.

Benson: This is an interesting time line from The Guardian, given that the Dutch apparently didn’t keep track of suicide bomber Ibrahim Bakraoiu deported by Turkey. They are the same folks who lost track of other terrorists. Meanwhile the Dutch are trying Geert Wilders for raising concerns about Islamic terrorists in the Netherlands.

Bellamy: As a Belgian of course I want to stay and raise my children in Belgium.  However, the Dutch policies and approaches are putting us all in great danger. I have far more faith in the Belgians and French. I know how they operate and what their views are. The Dutch are off in outer space when it comes to understanding and countering Islamic Jihad. They bend over backwards to help their Muslim population target us for death. The Belgians and French would do no such thing. I am quite sure they are giving Salah Abdeslam  some interesting experiences. The Dutch would never do this as it conflicts with their ingrained Calvinistic approach to fairness. Unfortunately, ‘fairness’ and laws which protect terrorists have left the Netherlands totally vulnerable. They are sitting ducks. Yes, they had to leave one of the larger bombs behind as it didn’t fit in the taxi. Another larger one did not detonate. They got that one to the airport. The fact that the one they did detonate brought down a part of the second floor, I just hesitate to think what may have happened had this other one gone off. Indeed I think the real target was Schuman or Luxembourg (these are metro stops running right under the Parliament). I would get off at Schuman and literally take fifty steps into the Parliament buildings.

Now that they suspect that there was a second terrorist with the one who bombed Maelbeek, it seems likely that they may have aborted putting a second bomb on perhaps the first metro. I think their real target was Schuman. I wonder if the bomb detonated early or if there was supposed to be a second bomb. This would make more sense to me. They wouldn’t just use one and they wouldn’t want it detonated at Maelbeek. It wasn’t the prime target, almost but not quite. I am very hopeful Belgian forces will capture the second and third terrorists who appear to have escaped. I also think with Abdeslam chirping away, that other networks across Europe will now be activated very quickly. I suspect we will see within the next few weeks, more major attacks. I can’t wait for Abdeslam to be extradited. Wait until the French get a hold of him.

Benson: If I am reading this correctly:

The train line running under the European Parliament could have been a secondary target….and they could not get all the explosives in the cab. My Israeli friend said that much of Europe believe they can be targeted. In the United States the supporters of Donald Trump and Ted Cruz believe that our government is appeasing ISIS terrorists.

Bellamy:  Certainly, with the train line running under the European Parliament, this was intended to put the entire EU on notice that their countries are next. As I’ve written before our transportation networks are incredibly vulnerable.

Madrid was just the opener. I really believe that Schipol, with trains running conveniently under it, is next on the list. The Dutch refuse to believe they are in any way a target. They believe they are exempt from terrorism because they have tulips and windmills or some such nonsense. They also refuse to call a spade a spade. They refuse to acknowledge that they are next due to their large population of Muslims. While Muslim communities may be better integrated here compared to Belgium or France, they are still planning jihad. One is not necessarily related to the other and this is what the Dutch totally miss. They pin all their hopes on integration. The Dutch think they can appease Muslim communities by doing things like putting Geert Wilders on trial. This is a very naive and dangerous approach.  France and Belgium top the list mainly due to their colonial past. The Dutch are there because they are bombing Syria and they are a very soft and vulnerable target.

Brussels: What We Can Learn From Today’s Slaughter

Today, terrorists attacked Brussels both the airport and a metro station in the center of the city. Here’s what we can learn from the attacks.

Europe is reeling from the latest terrorist attacks, this time against Brussels, now confirmed to be a terrorist attacks.  Three blasts have been reported so far, two in the Zaventem airport and one at the Maelbeek metro station some 500 meters from the European Parliament.

Here are three takeaways from this most recent tragic attack.

This Fight Impacts Everyone

The attack in Brussels follows Saturday’s attack on Istanbul by an Islamic State suicide bomber that killed four. Countries attacked so far this year by Islamist terrorist either working for groups or in lone wolf attacks (and remember it’s only March) include:

That’s attacks on 26 countries across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and East Asia in just three months. This is a problem everywhere. It is no longer possible to argue it doesn’t impact you or that there is nothing you can do about it.

Terrorism Works If You Let it

This one is difficult to internalize. Terrorism operates by creating an outsized reaction to a highly publicized event. It works to create “terror” in a population by stripping citizens of their feeling of safety, inculcating an atmosphere where people feel they can be attacked anywhere and at any time.

Societies respond with security measures designed to protect the citizenry and these can at times be heavy handed and worsen community relations, driving more people into the arms of terrorist groups. Public confusion and panic exacerbates the problem. One of the aims of groups like the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) is to create a backlash of anti-Muslim bigotry and thus instigate a war between Muslims and everyone else. Chaos, hatred and confusion is the favored working environment of terrorists and Islamists since it enables them to advance their goals under the cover of the fog of war.

Muslim and non-Muslim groups working together against terrorism and the Islamist ideology which spawns it (as distinct from the religion of Islam) in a firm, calm and unified manner is therefore essential to a counter-extremism strategy in civil society.

This will not stop until the ideology is defeated

The countries that have been attacked do not share a cohesive foreign policy platform or common causes except being opposed to the ideology of Islamism.

This Islamist ideology, which seeks to conquer the world and implement sharia governance under a theocratic Islamist caliphate gives people who are drawn to acts of violence an outlet for their grievances and an opportunity to justify crimes on an international scale.

In addition to the military steps needed to tackle violent groups, an international civil society effort to correctly label, deconstruct and intellectually discredit the underlying ideology that justifies such heinous acts will bring an end to the international wave of violence committed in its name.
