DNC Reportedly May Need To Borrow Cash To Keep Lights On

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has been grappling with infighting and a decline in donations in recent months, The New York Times reported Wednesday.

DNC Chair Ken Martin, who was elected in February, has overseen slowing fundraising from major donors, the NYT reported. Some top DNC officials have even floated the idea of whether it may be necessary to start borrowing money to continue paying the bills, according to the NYT.

Six anonymous sources told the NYT that major Democratic donors have been extremely slow to donate to the party this year. Additionally, two anonymous sources told the outlet that senior DNC officials have even floated the idea of potentially borrowing money in the coming months.

Rufus Gifford, who served as the finance chairman of former Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 presidential campaign, told the NYT that Democrats “need to come together and focus on the issues at hand.”

“What they are seeing is headline after headline of incompetence and infighting, and I think that is a real problem not just for the DNC but for the larger Democratic brand,” Gifford told the outlet. “We need to come together and focus on the issues at hand. That’s got to happen now. And I mean today. And if that can’t happen, we need to shift course.”

Democratic Wisconsin Rep. Mark Pocan told the NYT that the recent drama in the DNC was “worse than some high school student council drama.”

Martin told the NYT that he believes many major Democratic donors were “frustrated” by the results of the 2024 elections.

“People invested more money than they ever had before, they dug deeper than they ever had, and they are quite frustrated by the result,” Martin told the outlet. “They want answers. I don’t take it personally. I wasn’t in charge.”

“I know there’s a lot of people that are carrying grudges, that are still litigating the campaign that their person didn’t win,” Martin told the NYT. “I am not one of those people. There’s no sense of living in the past. I have no enemies other than Donald Trump and the Republican Party.”

The NYT’s report comes shortly after David Hogg, a gun control activist who was elected to serve as one of the DNC’s vice chairs in February, sparked massive backlash in the Democratic Party after he announced in April plans to primary incumbent Democrats. On June 11, the DNC voted to remove Hogg from his vice chair position and require him to run again due to a procedural complaint, Politico first reported.

On June 8, leaked audio revealed that Martin expressed concern about Hogg’s ability to lead the party due to the infighting his decisions had ignited, according to Politico. Martin notably paused twice and appeared to choke up during the recording, according to the outlet.

Moreover, Randi Weingarten, the longtime head of the American Federation of Teachers, and Lee Saunders, the president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, announced they were leaving the DNC, the NYT reported on Sunday. Both of the union leaders had backed Martin’s main opponent in the DNC chair election earlier this year, Wisconsin Democratic Party chair Ben Wikler, according to the NYT.

Still, some Democrats have defended Martin’s leadership, including Maria Cardona, a longtime DNC member, who told the NYT that he “does the work” and “rolls up the sleeves.”

“Everything that Ken has done, regardless of the drama that it has caused, has been the right moves,” Cardona told the outlet. “He does the work. He rolls up the sleeves.”

A DNC spokesperson did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

David Hogg Thinks Bringing Young Men Back To The Democratic Party Means Helping Them Get ‘Laid’ And Have ‘Fun’

Democratic National Committee Vice Chair David Hogg blasted his own party Friday night for alienating young men, arguing that Democrats are out of touch with this key demographic that helped power Donald Trump’s stunning 2024 victory.

“What I think happened last election is younger men — they would rather vote for somebody who they don’t completely agree with, they don’t feel judged by,” Hogg said on Real Time with Bill Maher. “Than somebody who they do agree with, that they feel like they have to walk on eggshells around constantly.”

Hogg, 25, a gun control activist and Parkland shooting survivor, said Democrats have grown “too elitist” and warned that the party’s judgmental tone is pushing away voters who should be natural allies.

“Young people should be able to focus on what young people should be focused on,” Hogg added, “which is how to get laid and how to go and have fun.”

Hogg’s comments come amid growing internal Democratic Party tensions. Young men aged 18 to 29 broke 56% to 42% for Trump in 2024, a dramatic shift from previous cycles. Women in the same age group preferred Kamala Harris by a 17-point margin, according to Tufts University data.

Harvard Youth Poll showed President Joe Biden with an 8-point advantage over former President Donald Trump among all American voters under 30. But it found Democrats have lost significant ground with young men in the last five years. A noted rightward shift in political identity among Gen Z men appears to be materializing, according to other recent polls.

Hogg is under fire for using DNC contact lists to raise money for his outside political group, Leaders We Deserve, which plans to spend $20 million to challenge entrenched Democrats in safe blue districts, the New York Post reported, citing Federal Elections Commissions data.

Hogg has also questioned the party’s gender balance rules, saying he prefers to focus on competence. “I want to focus on whoever’s just best at the job,” he said.

Meanwhile, Hogg has found unlikely allies across the aisle. Republican Rep. Mike Lawler praised his push to unseat out-of-touch Democrats, saying, “Some of these people don’t know when it’s time to go.”

As Democrats regroup from their 2024 loss, Hogg is betting that shaking up the establishment — and acknowledging the basic motivations of young male voters — might be the wake-up call his party needs.

“We’re not a perfect party,” Donna Brazille said. “We’ve got a lot of shit within us and we have to clean up our own mess. But I’ll tell you one thing, if I had to come back on this Earth tomorrow, I would still be a Democrat because of our values. We fight like hell. Sometimes we never make love at night because we fight like hell.”

Discord In The DNC: Chairman Rebukes David Hogg’s Plan To Primary Incumbent House Dems

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Ken Martin on Thursday rebuffed DNC Vice Chair David Hogg’s plans to primary incumbent House Democrats in the 2026 midterm elections.

Martin told reporters that Democratic party officers “can’t be both the referee and also the player at the same time,” Politico reported. He also said he is drafting proposed bylaw changes to require officers to stay neutral in all Democratic primaries, according to the outlet.

Martin’s comments come after Leaders We Deserve, a political organization co-founded by Hogg, pledged on April 15 to spend $20 million in an effort to help elect younger Democratic leaders, including primary challengers to incumbent House Democrats, in the midterms.

Hogg pushed back on Martin’s comments in an X post on Thursday, claiming that he was “not currently breaking” any DNC rules.

“They’re trying to change the rules because I’m not currently breaking them,” Hogg wrote in the social media post. “As we’re seeing law firms, tech companies, and so many others bowing to [President Donald] Trump, we all must use whatever position of power we have to fight back. And that’s exactly what I’m doing.”

Hogg stated in a separate X post that Americans “trust Donald Trump more on the economy than Democrats,” adding that too many Democratic Party leaders are “asleep at the wheel.”

Hogg’s plans to primary certain incumbent Congressional Democrats has sparked massive backlash from leaders in his own party. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries on Sunday rebuked Hogg’s efforts to unseat some incumbent Democrats, telling Jonathan Karl on ABC News’ “This Week” that he will stand behind “every single Democratic incumbent” in the 2026 midterm elections.

The Democratic Party notably is facing a variety of struggles following the Republican Party’s victories in the 2024 election cycle, including declining approval ratings among voters. A Harvard Youth Poll released Wednesday found that the number of young Americans who approve of Congressional Democrats was just 23%, down from 42% in 2017.

A DNC spokesperson referred the Daily Caller News Foundation to an op-ed from Martin published by Time when reached for comment. A Leaders We Deserve spokesperson referred the DCNF to Hogg’s full thread posted to X on Thursday when reached for comment.

EXCLUSIVE: DNC Sent Millions To Law Firms Behind ‘Unprecedented Lawfare’ Campaign Against Trump

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has sent millions of dollars to law firms that are intimately involved in an “unprecedented lawfare” campaign against former President Donald Trump, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) records reviewed by the Daily Caller.

The DNC has paid close to $2 million since August of 2021 to Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP for “legal services,” according to the DNC’s FEC filingsKaplan Hecker & Fink LLP founding partner Roberta A. Kaplan represented E. Jean Carroll in her sexual assault and defamation suits against Trump. The New York Times previously reported that Reid Hoffman, the billionaire co-founder of LinkedIn, helped pay for Carroll’s lawsuits.

The firm states that it was founded to “build a law firm for the future rooted in principles of equity, integrity, and justice.” Partner Joshua Matz served as counsel for the House Judiciary Committee during the first Trump impeachment trial. He was invited back to serve on the second impeachment trial, according to the firm’s website. The firm also touts “representing former U.S. District Court Judge John Gleeson as a court-appointed amicus in United States of America v. Michael T. Flynn.”

The DNC has also paid Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP several million dollars for “legal services” since 2021, according to FEC filings. ABC News previously reported the firm has “represented the DNC for a long time.” Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale And Dorr LLP has filed numerous Amicus briefs in the United States v. Donald Trump case, which concerns Trump’s potential criminal liability for actions related to the 2020 election and Jan. 6, and currently sits before the Supreme Court.

Several alumni from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have ended up with major roles in the Biden administration, including Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas and Ambassador to Mexico Ken Salazar. Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller is also a WilmerHale alumnus.

“There is now clear and explosive evidence that the Biden DNC is paying Democrat law firms to engage in in this unprecedented lawfare and election interference against President Trump,” Mike Davis, a legal adviser to Trump and the founder and president of the Article III Project, told the Caller.

In April, DNC spokesperson Alex Floyd stated that “the DNC does not spend a single penny of grassroots donors’ money on legal bills.”

Floyd’s statement came in response to the news that the DNC had been using donor money to pay for President Joe Biden’s legal bills during Special Counsel Robert Hur’s investigation of him.

The DNC did not immediately respond to inquiries regarding the payments to the two law firms.

‘We Need A Businessman’: DNC’s ‘Calamari Comeback’ Chef Turns On Biden, Endorses Trump

A calamari chef who the Democrats put at the forefront of their convention in 2020 took to Fox News Monday to announce that he will be voting for presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

John Bordieri, the man who went viral as the “Calamari Comeback” chef featured by the Democratic National Convention (DNC), told “Fox and Friends First” co-host Carley Shimkus that he will support Trump in the 2024 election.

“He’s a businessman, and I think we need a businessman that can run the United States like a business and to help the people who live here create jobs, keeping lower prices, and see the whole bottom line work out for everybody,” Bordieri said.

“I just always believed business is business. And politicians? I don’t know…. I don’t wanna diss them or anything, but, you know, you always hear that they’re going to make up stories, and they’re gonna help you, and they’re gonna do this here, and they’re gonna do that for you,” he continued. “I think Donald Trump did an awful lot while he was in office, the four years that he was here.”

The Rhode Island chef expressed his sympathy toward young people who want to buy a home, saying that “over-inflated prices” and “high interest rates” will “crush them.”

“You see the prices going up on a weekly basis, sometimes a daily basis. You know, everything fluctuates, especially the commodities and stuff like the seafood and the dairy products and the stuff,” Bordieri told Shimkus. “I purchase weekly, daily, and I see the prices go up.”

Bordieri famously announced his support for Biden in a video featured by the DNC in 2020. The chef said restaurants and the fishing industry were “decimated” by the COVID-19 pandemic and that he will deliver a “Calamari Comeback.” He also praised former Democratic Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo before declaring that Biden would be “the next president” of the United States.

Inflation peaked at 9% in 2022 under President Joe Biden, a dramatic surge from the 1.4% measured when Biden took office in Jan. 2021, according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI). The CPI measured inflation at 3.4% as of April 2024.

Trump NY Prosecutor was Paid $12,000 by Democratic National Committee for ‘Political Consulting’

Right.

And how much did the Judge’s daughter make working for the Democratic campaigns President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris?

Trump prosecutor Matthew Colangelo not only took payoffs form the DNC but his wife, Anne Small, sits on the board of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund with Jonathan Soros. They filed an amicus brief with SCOTUS asking Trump be disqualified from running for office.

This is beyond corruption. This is America gone.

Even the communists in China and the old Soviet Union hid it better than these evil clowns.

Revealed: Trump hush money prosecutor was paid $12,000 by Democratic National Committee for ‘political consulting’

  • New York hush money case prosecutor Matthew Colangelo was paid by the DNC
  • Raises even more concerns about the politicization of the prosecution

By Katelyn Caralle, Dailymail.Com In Washington, Dc, 6 May 2024

The New York prosecutor in the New York City hush money case against Donald Trump was previously hired for ‘political consulting’ by the Democratic National Committee.

The revelations regarding attorney Matthew Colangelo raises concerns over the perceived politicalization of the multiple cases against the former president – and specifically the first case brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office.

Colangelo, according to a Fox News Digital review of Federal Election Commission records, was paid $12,000 by the DNC on January 31, 2018. It was distributed by DNC Services Corp/Democratic National Committee in two separate payments of $6,000 on the same day.

The description listed by the FEC for the purpose of the payment to the attorney is labeled ‘Political Consulting.’

Trump has appeared in Manhattan criminal court for the last month for the case alleging he falsified business documents related to a payment made to porn star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet ahead of the 2016 election about their alleged extramarital affair in 2006.

Colangelo delivered opening statements in the criminal trial and questioned witnesses over the last three weeks.

The prosecutor left a senior role at Biden’s Justice Department to join Bragg’s office in December 2022.

His hiring came after both attorneys Mark Pomerantz and Carey Dunne resigned out of protest when Bragg was initially unwilling to indict Trump.

House Republicans are already investigating Colangelo while he prosecutes Trump considering his connections to the Democratic Party and his past work with the Biden administration.

Just four months after Colangelo was brought on to the Manhattan DA’s office, Bragg decided to bring charges against the former president in April 2023. This has raised concerns among Republicans that the case is politicized.

When the DNC paid Colangelo the $12k, he was serving as deputy attorney general for social justice in the New York Attorney General’s office.

Payments from the DNC to Colangelo raise even more concerns about the partisanship and politicalization of the prosecution

In June 2018, just a few months after receiving the payments, then-New York District Attorney Barbara Underwood filed a lawsuit against the Trump Foundation claiming the then-president used charitable assets to pay legal obligations. Colangelo was executive deputy attorney general at the time.

The Trump Foundation dissolved in December 2018.

Colangelo continued to work on Trump lawsuits and investigations in New York under Attorney General Letitia James’ tenure when she took over in 2018.

When Biden took office in January 2021, Colangelo began serving as acting associate attorney general at the Department of Justice. He then became the principal deputy associate attorney general at the DOJ.

He went back to New York to serve in Bragg’s team in December 2022.

Colangelo also previously worked in the Obama administration in a number of different roles, including for the DOJ’s civil rights division and as chief of staff to Tom Perez, who was Labor Secretary at the time.

VIDEO: RFK, Jr. warns the DNC is planning to steal the Democrat primary election and give it to Biden

In an email containing the below video titled “This is about you” Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. explains what is going to happen on September 14th, 2023 in Washington, D.C., when the Democratic National Committee (DNC) will meet to confirm the party’s rules or make changes which could amount to stuffing the primary election delegate ballot box.

WATCH: This is About You

In his email JFK, Jr. wrote,

Here’s how it works: Let’s say a candidate gets 60% of the vote in a primary. In a fair election, they would get 60% of the delegates allocated.

However, in 2020 the DNC created a new kind of delegate: the PLEO (Party Leaders and Elected Officials). Only these officials are eligible. They are to be allocated according to vote totals, but since no official will dare provoke the wrath of the DNC by pledging to an insurgent candidate like myself, it means that all of them will go to President Joe Biden.

What that means is that I could win 60% or even 70% of the vote, and still the nomination would go to Joe Biden.

This scheme is a way to stack the deck in favor of party insiders. The DNC is returning to the days of choosing the nominee in backroom political deals. It is a blatant form of election rigging.

They also have switched the first primary to South Carolina (where Biden did well in the 2020 primary) and taken it away from New Hampshire (where he lost badly). To enforce the switch, they are punishing any candidate who campaigns there by nullifying the NH vote and removing them from the ballot in Georgia, of all places.

I am taking this fight, on behalf of all voters, to the DNC. I have publicly called for real reform, where every vote counts. I have asked to meet with the DNC this week. No response yet.

You can help me show the DNC that the voters want real democracy…

Many expect that after the DNC steals their own primary election that they will then steal the 2024 presidential election as well. As George Santayana said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

Remember how the DNC did this to Bernie Sanders and gave the nomination to Hillary Clinton?
