EPIC: Trump Designates Muslim Brotherhood ‘Foreign Terrorist Organization’

This is historic. “Tectonic.”

Notably absent: The presidential order signed by President Trump focuses on the Muslim Brotherhood branches in Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt. Notably absent is any reference to the Muslim Brotherhood branches in Turkey and Qatar, which are actually part of the government in those countries (Givens).

Sen. Cruz said,“I applaud President Trump for his leadership in advancing and announcing today’s Executive Order, which is critical to American national security and to the safety of Americans. This battle has been over a decade in the making, and it faced fierce resistance from supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood abroad and from deeply embedded bureaucrats across the U.S. government. The Muslim Brotherhood and its branches encourage, facilitate, and provide resources for conducting jihadist terrorism across the world. They are committed to overthrowing the United States and the governments of our allies. I have been leading the fight in Congress to secure designations for my entire tenure in the Senate. The process will now advance purposefully within the administration under President Trump, and now is the time to build on today’s decision in Congress. I call on the Senate to expeditiously advance my Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act of 2025, which will lock in designations, provide additional resources for protecting Americans from the Brotherhood and its branches, and has bipartisan support and momentum in both the House and the Senate.”

DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD CHAPTERS AS FOREIGN TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS AND SPECIALLY DESIGNATED GLOBAL TERRORISTS

November 24, 2025

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1101 et seq.) (INA), and the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.) (IEEPA),  it is hereby ordered:

Section 1.  Purpose.  This order sets in motion a process by which certain chapters or other subdivisions of the Muslim Brotherhood shall be considered for designation as Foreign Terrorist Organizations, consistent with section 219 of the INA (8 U.S.C. 1189) and specially designated global terrorists, consistent with IEEPA (50 U.S.C. 1702), and Executive Order 13224 of September 23, 2001 (Blocking Property and Prohibiting Transactions with Persons Who Commit, Threaten to Commit, or Support Terrorism), as amended.

The Muslim Brotherhood, founded in Egypt in 1928, has developed into a transnational network with chapters across the Middle East and beyond.  Relevant here, its chapters in Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt engage in or facilitate and support violence and destabilization campaigns that harm their own regions, United States citizens, and United States interests.  For example, in the aftermath of the October 7, 2023, attack in Israel, the military wing of the Lebanese chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood joined Hamas, Hezbollah, and Palestinian factions to launch multiple rocket attacks against both civilian and military targets within Israel.  A senior leader of the Egyptian chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood, on October 7, 2023, called for violent attacks against United States partners and interests, and Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood leaders have long provided material support to the militant wing of Hamas.  Such activities threaten the security of American civilians in the Levant and other parts of the Middle East, as well as the safety and stability of our regional partners.

Sec. 2.  Policy.  It is the policy of the United States to cooperate with its regional partners to eliminate the capabilities and operations of Muslim Brotherhood chapters designated as foreign terrorist organizations pursuant to section 3 of this order, deprive those chapters of resources, and thereby end any threat such chapters pose to United States nationals or the national security of the United States.

Sec. 3.  Implementation.  (a)  Within 30 days of the date of this order, the Secretary of State and the Secretary of the Treasury, after consultation with the Attorney General and the Director of National Intelligence, shall submit a joint report to the President, through the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, concerning the designation of any Muslim Brotherhood chapters or other subdivisions, including those in Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt, as foreign terrorist organizations consistent with 8 U.S.C. 1189, and specially designated global terrorists consistent with 50 U.S.C. 1702 and Executive Order 13224.

(b)  Within 45 days of submitting the report required by subsection (a) of this section, the Secretary of State or the Secretary of the Treasury, as applicable, shall take all appropriate action consistent with 8 U.S.C. 1189 or 50 U.S.C. 1702 and Executive Order 13224, as applicable, with regard to the designation of any Muslim Brotherhood chapters or other subdivisions described in section 1 of this order as foreign terrorist organizations and specially designated global terrorists.

Sec. 4.  General Provisions.  (a)  Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:

(i)   the authority granted by law to an executive department or agency, or the head thereof; or

(ii)  the functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.

(b)  This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.

(c)  This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

(d)  The costs for publication of this order shall be borne by the Department of State.

Trump To Designate Antifa As Foreign Terrorist Group

President Donald Trump said Wednesday he will classify Antifa as a “foreign terrorist organization.”

Trump convened a White House roundtable on Antifa on Wednesday to pledge an aggressive crackdown against the group. The event followed his order and Federal Register entry listing Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization — no State Department action has yet placed “Antifa” on the Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) list.

“Would you like to see it done? You think it would help?” Trump asked of the FTO designation. “I’d be glad to do it. I think it’s the kind of thing I’d like to do. Does everybody agree? If you agree, I agree. Let’s get it done, OK? Let’s get it done. Marco, we’ll take care of it … Sounds good to me.”

“The epidemic of left-wing violence and Antifa-inspired terror has been escalating for nearly a decade,” the president said earlier in the roundtable. “We’re going to be far more threatening to them than they ever were with us — and that includes the people that fund them.”

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and other officials at the roundtable also likened Antifa to recognized terror or criminal outfits.

“Their agenda is to destroy the American people and our way of life, and this president is standing in their way,” Noem said.

Any move to place Antifa on the Foreign Terrorist Organization list would have to come from Secretary of State Marco Rubio. As of Wednesday, Antifa still does not appear under the FTO roster, though it is listed as a domestic terror organization in the Federal Register.

Gov. Abbott Declares Venezuelan Gang Tren de Aragua a Foreign Terrorist Organization

The governor will also declare the criminal organization a “Tier 1” gang and establish a joint task force with special privileges to go after it.

By

Gov. Greg Abbott announced several plans to assist state law enforcement in going after the rapidly growing Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua on Monday.

Abbott revealed that he would declare the gang a “Foreign Terrorist Organization,” according to Texas Government Code Chapter 2270. The designation allows authorities to forfeit the assets of suspected TDA associates.

Abbott was joined at the Monday press conference announcing the plan of action by Department of Public Safety Director Steven C. McCraw and Border Czar Mike Banks.

“TDA is notorious for their brutal violence and murder, and their kidnapping, extortion, bribery, and trafficking of drugs, weapons, and even humans. They’ve been linked to more than 100 law enforcement investigations across the country,” explained Abbott.

The gang has “been given the green light to shoot law enforcement officers in the United States,” the governor added.

In addition to the FTO designation, Abbott further designated TDA as a “Tier 1” gang. A 2018 Department of Public Safety threat assessment defines Tier 1 gangs as posing the “greatest threat to the state.”

Tango Blast and associated Tango cliques, the Texas Mexican Mafia, MS-13, and Barrio Azteca were other gangs listed as Tier 1 at the time.

Notably, TDA is already considered a “Transnational Criminal Organization” by federal officials.

Abbott said that the designations would coincide with a statewide operation targeting TDA through a task force made up of federal, state, and local law enforcement officials.

A new state database aimed at identifying TDA members through shared characteristics like “tattoos, scars, marks, types of crime, and methods of operation” will be used throughout the operation.

McCraw later expanded upon what the operation will look like in practice due to certain challenges, noting that the federal government has been unhelpful thus far in disclosing the locations of Venezuelan illegal aliens.

“We’ll not allow any of these TDA gangsters to gain a foothold in Texas. To that end, Texas anti-gang centers already have ongoing criminal enterprise investigations against TDA and all of the operational areas throughout the state,” stated McCraw.

“We are requesting that our federal partners provide us the whereabouts of these Venezuelan migrants,” he continued. “That’s very important because, unfortunately, you’re either a TDA member or a victim of TDA.”

Border Czar Mike Banks laid the blame for the nationwide TDA crisis as a “direct result” of the “open border policies” instituted by the Biden-Harris administration.

“The Biden-Harris administration has sent out an all-call to the world that you [can] cross this border without any consequences,” said Banks, who proceeded to criticize the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s vetting policies.
